DPxDC Family Week June 22 (Day 5)
Prompt: Children | Music
A/N: Super random and I had no idea what to do with the prompts until a couple hours ago.
AO3 Link: DPxDC Family Week Contributions
It was supposed to be a slow and easy day, barely anything big happening. Just a day for them all to chill and relax. Danny really had hoped for that one calm day. He had gotten Jason to come to the Manor to help him with his literature homework. It took a lot of convincing but in the end he managed to convince his second oldest brother to come. Normally he would have asked Jazz or Barbara but the girls were out on a girls night Steph had demanded.
He knows that Dick was also in the Mansion the moment Danny had let it slip a day earlier that he had gotten Jason to agree to help him; the eldest had announced that was going to come visit too. Of course to spend time with the two youngest Damian and Ellie who were busy caring for the animals in Damians Barn. That he got to hang out with Jason, read: force a hangout, was just a bonus.
Bruce was probably in the office and Alfred was in the kitchen baking.
Everything sounds like a nice and calm day doesn't it? Yea, Danny would have thought so too if it weren't for that sudden slip of cold air leaving his lips as well as a certain ghost looking at him through his Textbook.
He blinked, Jason blinked, they blinked.
"Desiree?" Danny carefully started. "What are you doing here?"
She was supposed to be in the Ghost Zone, specifically in Walker's Prison on time out for granting Condiment King of all people a wish and nearly flooding all of Gotham in mustard, ketchup and other things. Lady Gotham hadn't been very amused either, which was why Desiree should be in Walker's Prison.
The ghost in question only smiled brightly at him and he resisted the urge to close the book in her face. He could see Jason digging around in his bag, ever since the ghost had followed him to Gotham he had made sure that all of his siblings had at least something to catch them. "Well hello there Phantom. I just wanted to see if anyone wanted anything."
Before he could answer her she slipped away from them. Danny cursed in a way that would make Jason proud as he jumped off his chair, changed forms and followed the other ghost through the floor, barely remembering to yell at his brother to tell the others to not utter anything that could remotely sound like a good damn wish.
Too bad Danny had not anticipated Desiree going to the Kitchen were Alfreed and Bruce were apparently having a little nostalgic chat. In which Alfred just happens to say that he wished he had more photos of the times all of them had been children.
One wish granting ghosts intermission later…
Alfred blinked at where Bruce had been sitting a couple seconds ago. No, Bruce was still sitting there but he was not the adult he had been talking to but the six years old version.
"Master Bruce?"
The child looked up at him, tilting their head. "Alfred? Why do you look so old? Older than you normally do?"
Well wasn't that a predicament, Alfred mused. "Master Bruce, what is the last thing you remember?"
"Mom and Dad told me they were going on a business trip and I would be alone with you in the Manor for a while."
Okay that was something Alfred could work with. Surely one of the children could tell him what was going on. Maybe Daniel had an idea, this could be something related to the Infinite Realms after all.
"Alfred! Do you know where Father is?" The butler turned to the kitchen entrance only to find Damian and Danielle each holding onto the hands of a young Richard. "Richard suddenly turned into a child and he doesn't appear to remember us."
"I don't remember you because I don't know you." The child between the two frowned at them. "How did I get here? Did you kidnap me?"
"We didn't twerp. You got de-aged." Danielle was clearly fessed up with young Richard and Alfred couldn't help but chuckle.
"Who are you guys and why are you at my home?" Bruce suddenly piped up jumping of his chair and rushing over to the three.
"I live here, who are you brat?" Danielle questioned in return before Damian could say anything, her eyes narrowed at the young Bruce.
"Nu-uh. I live here with Mom and Dad. You're the stranger."
"Hi I am Richard but call me Dick, I got kidnapped."
"We did not kidnap you."
"Hi, I am Bruce and that's Alfred."
"Alfred, this boy… is that father?"
"I am afraid so, Master Damian."
Before anything further could be discussed the screaming of two other children could be heard. Bruce and Dick rushed out of curiosity toward the noise as children were. Damian and Ellie quickly followed behind them. Alfred didn't take long to also follow them.
The five of them did not expect to find more children but these two were brawling. Two similar looking young boys were currently fighting each other biting, hair pulling and even punching while screaming at each other.
"NO JAZZ TOLD ME STEALING IS BAD!"
"SHUT UP YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT!"
"NO! YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT!"
"NO YOU!"
Alfred did recognise one of them as Jason while the other most likely was Daniel. Clearing his throat the butler waited for the two brawling children to notice him before pulling them apart. "Master Jason. Master Daniel. You two shouldn't fight inside the house."
Danny scrunched up his nose side eyeing the Butler and Ellie cooed who would have guessed that her template used to be this cute. "I don't like that. Call me Danny."
Jason on the other hand stuck his tongue out at Danny once the two got separated. "Daniel, Daniel, Daniel."
Danny glared and Ellie could only laugh at the face he was making. "Stop that."
Damian let out a sigh. "It looks like everyone but us got turned into children. What could be the cause of this?"
Danielle shrugged. "Dunno, the only I know that could do that is a ghost but she is in ghost prison."
"I will see if I can conta-"
"Weeeeeeeeeee!"
The two youngest turned oldest looked up in time to see Dick swinging on the foyers chandelier. The young child's hand slipped and suddenly the boy was free falling. Both rushed to catch the child, Ellie taking to the air and catching him while Damian on the ground let out a sigh of relief, before realizing that Jason and Bruce were gone.
Danny thankfully was still with Alfred holding on to the butler hand watching wide eyed and in awe how Ellie was slowly floating down to the ground with Richard in her arms. The boy was loudly yelling "Again" over and over.
"We need to find Father and Todd." Damian declared once Richard safely touched ground. The boy pouted but took Alfred's hand as he was told.
"I believe Master Bruce might have thought out his old room. It would be in the right wing of the second floor. In regards to Master Jason…"
"I will find him." Danielle offered, already speeing off. Damian only huffed in annoyance as the girl did not stay long enough for him to properly plan how to find the two missing children. With another huff he turned around and left to find his child turned father.
Alfred only smiled as the two now oldest children left and led the two whose hands he was holding towards the kitchen. "Master Richard, Master Daniel. How about you two help me bake some cookies?"
"They won't come to live will they?"
The butler chuckled at little Daniel's question but also noted that down as a worrisome statement he would have to inquire later about. "No they won't but they will surely taste better with two little helpers."
The boy let out a sigh in relieve as the other tilted his head slightly. "I love cookies! This is definitely the coolest time I have ever gotten kidnapped for."
"You have gotten kidnapped before? Jazz said getting kidnapped is bad."
"Nope, this is my first time! But how can it be bad if it's fun so far? I wanna swing on that ceiling thing again!"
"I wanna try that too…"
Alfreed only shook his head as he let the two children continue to talk. Whatever was happening the butler would make sure to take as many pictures as he could. This was his one golden opportunity to get these for the family albums. After all Tim had gifted him last month with the latest phone model that supposedly had one of the best cameras integrated.
--------------
Somewhere else in Gotham…..
When Tim finally got out of the meetings he took a look at his phone. Alfred had been sending pictures all day and he hadn't had the time to take a look at them. He choked on his coffee as pictures of Bruce, Dick, Jason and Danny as children greeted him. The young Co-CEO rubbed his eyes wondering if he was dreaming but then Alfred sent him a video that he instantly saved in his blackmail folder. Whatever was going on he would hold that over his brother's heads for a long time.
Duke leaned back into his chair finally taking a break from his study session. He had ignored his phone so far. Now that he was taking a break he looked at it and spluttered at the cuteness that greeted him. Wait, was that Bruce? And Dick? And Jason? And Danny? What was happening in the Manor? Wasn't today supposed to be a slow day? Hurriedly, the Meta packed up his things from his library table and made his way back home. He did stop shortly at one point to take a look at the video Alfred sent, trying but failing to stop the laugh that bubbled out of him.
The girls all crowded around the screen as Barbara pulled up a live feat from the Manors cameras. They all collectively squalled when they watched the children play. A part of them wondered if they should go to the manor to help Alfred Damian and Ellie but they were having too much fun just watching the chaos unfold on screen.
In the video and live on Barbara's screen four children were currently dancing to the strangest music with Danielle before them instructing them on how to pull off the best moves. All the children's attention was on her as she taught them everything from easy hip hop moves to the funkiest dance move she, herself could think of. Meanwhile Damian was on the sidelines, head in his hand mumbling something but because of the music neither the video Alfred was taking nore the video cams, the girls were watching them from, picked it up.
A couple day's later a blindfolded Constantine finally grazed the Wayne Manor with his presence and a solution to return the four children back to their original age. Once that was done, three out of four were certainly mortified, the fourth trying to take it with Humor all while Alfred was happily working on an additional family photo album.

Faces of the past
Batfam, De-aged Jason, Sibling relationships, Humour, Light Angst, Guilty Dick and Bruce, Sassy Jason.
Summary: The thing that seems to bother Jason the most about the situation is the family members he no longer recognises, he doesn't seem at all concerned by the fact he's been unexplainably reverted back into a teenager with no memory of his adult self. Dick and Bruce, on the other hand, are unprepared for the onslaught of thoughts and emotions of seeing Jason the age he had been when he died.
A/N: This has been done for day four of Batfam Week 2023, the prompt is de-aging. @batfamilyweek

Enjoy! :D
“We’re going to be late, Jason! Let’s go. What are you doing?” Dick shouts as he thumps his fist against the bedroom door in front of him. He huffs when no response comes and smacks the door again impatiently. “Jason. No matter how old you are Alfred will have your hide.”
This time he could hear shuffling going on inside the room. Dick rolls his eyes, it’s about time, they were supposed to leave the manor ten minutes ago. When Jason didn’t turn up in the foyer at the arranged meeting time Dick got sent up to fetch him, apparently that also meant waking him up.
A few moments pass by and when his brother doesn’t make an appearance Dick raises his fist to knock again but that’s when the door swings open revealing something that had Dick freezing in place and staring.
“What do you want Dickhead? Why are you waking me up at crack ass dawn, I only got back from patrol less than four hours ago.”
Dick blinks. He blinks again and then rubs his eyes when the sight in front of him doesn't change. In front of him stands a gangly teenager, a little too thin but who is slowly growing into his limbs, messy unkept hair, boyish features, higher than usual voice and who is short, the top of his head only reaching Dick’s sternum.
Blinking, Dick opens his mouth however he immediately closes realising he doesn't know what he's going to say. Ignoring the way the kid is glaring at him, with eyes that are all too familiar, Dick presses his way past the kid and into the room. Glancing around the otherwise empty room Dick frowns at the kid, finding him being to be the only person inside.
“Dick this isn’t funny. It’s Saturday. I deserve my lie in. Surely Bruce hasn’t set you up to this.”
Dick has no idea how to respond to that. Everything about the situation is wrong. The last time he saw Jason which happened to be hours ago, he was a six foot grumpy man, not this teenager version of himself. Dick stares at him as realisation strikes him, this Jason is young, he’s the age he was when he… when he died.
A shove from Jason, breaks him out of his thoughts. He stumbles to the side and stares at him as the teenager continues to grumble about being woken up on a Saturday for no apparent reason.
Dick holds up a hand, still unable to form words, and shakes it before deciding to step out of the room. Silently he closes the door and leans against it, trying to get his brain to function. What the fuck? How the hell has Jason reverted back into a teenager? If it’s even Jason, this could be someone else…
“Dick what is taking so long? Bruce is starting to get pissy. Not mention how Alfred’s disapproving frown is starting to make an appearance.”
Tim’s voice echoes down the hallway and Dick turns to him, watching him stride down the corridor to where he’s leaning against the door. At least Tim looks and appears normal. He doesn't know if that’s better or worse, perhaps Dick is dreaming and making up teenage Jason in his head…
When Tim reaches him, his little brother is sending him a judgemental look. Still unable to create words Dick simply moves to the side and gestures at the door. Tim can see for himself. Tim sends him a deadpan look, clearly not impressed, but he opens the door without question and peers inside. Dick knows the moment he spots Jason because his body completely stills.
Jason’s higher pitched voice filters through the opening of the door. “Who are you and what do you want? Is Dick still there?”
“Sorry,” Tim says evenly, “don’t worry about me. We’ll leave you be now…”
Tim slowly shuts the door and turns to Dick wearing a confused frown on his face. Dick puts his hands up placatingly, unable to answer the unspoken questions.
After a moment Tim clears his throat awkwardly. “We should probably tell Bruce to cancel today.”
===========
“So you’re telling me Bruce has a problem in collecting strays? Most people collect stamps, Bruce apparently collects children.”
Jason’s comment is said with a bluntness only a teenager could achieve, he’s sitting at the kitchen island on a stool and is swinging his legs as he rips up a piece of bread and eats it bit by bit. He's looking around the kitchen observing with interest before his gaze moves onto each person separately in the room with him. Which is basically the whole family, minus Damian.
After discovering teenage Jason, Dick and Tim called up Bruce with an emergency and it didn’t take long for Bruce to see what the situation is. After that it was a headache lasting several hours as they tell teenage Jason the truth, some of it, in how he’s somehow been de-aged and how he’s currently in the future where the family has expanded and not everything is the same.
That’s when Alfred approached and offered to fix up breakfast for everyone in the kitchen, Jason included. They were originally going out for food so this worked in everyone’s favour. Serious matters always seemed to be to be discussed over food.
Despite being disoriented with the situation Jason easily agrees and together they head to the kitchen. As Jason settles at the island, Dick saw the moment the older men realised what age Jason currently appears to be, he could see the devastation cross both Bruce and Alfred’s faces, if the others pick up on it they may understand but they wouldn’t be able to relate.
While they caught Jason up and also introducing him to Cass, Tim, Duke, Steph, and Damian when he made a brief appearance before deeming it not an important enough situation for his presence, everyone seemed to have made the same silent and mutual agreement in not mentioning Jason’s death. That’s for the best of course.
Jason waves around a piece of bread before shoving it in his mouth. “I don’t know whether to be insulted or proud there are robins after me. Was that a choice or forced? I’m surprised you allowed it Dick after what we went through.”
On the opposite side of the island Tim flinches at the comment which goes unnoticed by Jason. Tim covers it up well with the action of taking a sip of coffee from his mug but it doesn't go unnoticed by the rest of the family. Dick runs a hand over his face, all those memories, thoughts and feelings from that time are coming to the forefront of his mind.
Admittedly he hadn’t taken to Jason when Bruce brought him home. He knows and regrets how badly he had treated Jason back then but he had been an angry teenager, mostly angry at Bruce and Jason took the brunt of it. It’s one of the reason why he tried hard with Tim when it became clear the kid wasn't going away any time soon.
“Look I’m sorry, even now I still feel guilty about how I treated you.”
Jason snorts and send him a disbelieving look. He then looks over at Tim, “Did he at least treat you any better when Bruce brought you home?”
At being directly spoken to Tim looks like a deer caught in headlights. His mouth opens and closes for several long minutes before he finally comes up with an answer. “He wasn't accepting at first, just like you, but he soon warmed up.”
Somewhat the truth. They have to be careful with what they’re telling teenage Jason, especially regarding Tim’s involvement. The whole reason why Tim even became part of the family is because Jason died, as morbid as that reason may be. They’re going to need to tell Jason some white lies surrounding Tim and his background.
Jason hums and his attention moves onto the others. He munches away as he asks them questions that focus more on Gotham instead of everyone’s backgrounds. He asks what villains are still about, what their relationship with the police is like, how patrols work compared to back then and surely the technology must be better right.
The questions last for a long while and the entire time Dick watches as Bruce stares at Jason bewildered, his pseudo father clearly getting caught up in past memories of when Jason was originally this age before everything changed. The same energetic vibe teenage Jason is giving off, that young innocence he still somehow kept even after living on the streets for as long as he had. This was the kid who was cocky enough to attempt to steal the tires from the batmobile, who almost got away with it too...
Jason’s next enquiring question brings everything back to reality. “So since I’m a teenager out of time, how do I … not be? What do we do?”
“We’ll be looking into it, since nothing out of the ordinary happened to you, adult you yesterday, we’ll need to try and retrace your steps to try and see if anything comes up amiss. Something probably happened on patrol which you didn’t share with us that may be a key to working this out.”
It’s the first time Bruce has spoken up since seeing Jason the way he currently is. His voice sounds strained and as Dick noticed earlier, the man seems to be stuck in the past while looking at his second son the age he had been when he died.
Jason looks contemplative for a moment before piping up, “why wouldn’t I share everything with you, especially something significant? Isn’t that what you drill into us from the very beginning?”
At that comment Dick couldn’t help but snort which earns him a dirty look from the current teenager. Everyone else was snickering though. “Seriously? As if we all tell Bruce everything that happens during patrol. Nothing changes when you get older buddy.”
That’s the truth. Dick’s done it, hidden things, even big things, from Bruce that’s happened during a patrol. He knows for a fact Tim’s done it, the girls and even Damian. It’s typical behaviour, whatever excuses they may come up with but it’s not unusual for someone to hide something. Most of the time everyone is pretty good about reporting back but on occasion some things ‘may be forgotten about’.
Bruce clears his throat pointedly. “Until then, we’ll keep you safe. We may need to refer to you for different things throughout, but until then you stay here.”
Jason dramatically groans and rolls his eyes. “Ugh, fine if I have too.” With that he climbs off the stool and drops his plate off in the sink. “Thanks for breakfast Alfie, perfect as usual, glad to know your culinary skills are still on point.”
“Thank you Master Jason.” Alfred acknowledges with amusement.
“If I have to stay here I’m at least going to go and check out the library. Surely it must have expanded over the years right?”
As he begins to head for the door Cass blocks his path and grabs his wrist. “Let’s spar in gym.”
Caught off guard by her sudden appearance in front of him Jason blinks, “uh sure?” he glances round before looking at her again. “How good are you in combat?”
Steph lets out a barking laugh. “Oh this is something I need to see. She’s by far the best of us.” The blonde leads the way out of the kitchen and Cass drags Jason out with her before he could respond. As they disappear Dick couldn’t help but think that it’s strange seeing Jason almost the same height as Cass. It’s as amusing as it is weird.
“If you need any tech support let me know, otherwise I’m going to go watch Cass beat baby Jason’s ass.” Following his statement Tim leaves the kitchen with a fresh mug of coffee in his hands and follows their siblings.
With only four of them left in the kitchen Duke speaks up. “If you want me to patrol Crime Alley I can see if I can find anything out the ordinary or ask around to who may have seen Jason patrolling last night. I can also ask my own contacts for any information.”
Bruce sighs and runs a hand over his face. “That would be most useful, thanks Duke. Let me know if you hear anything back.”
Duke nods. “I’ll go out a little later and tonight too. For now I’m going to join the others, someone needs to record this…”
In a hurry Duke darts out of the kitchen which leaves only three of them. Alfred begins cleaning up breakfast and Dick stands there staring at Bruce.
“You okay?” He asks the man concerned.
“I’m fine,” comes the unsurprising response. “It’s just…” Bruce waves a hand and lets his sentence trail off but Dick knows exactly what he’s thinking.
“I know.” Dick says quietly, in understanding. “It’s hard seeing him like that. For now we just need to try and work out what happened to him and why. I’ll help where I can so let me know what you need and when.”
Bruce looks at him grateful, probably because Dick isn’t forcing him to share his emotions on the situation. Even if he pushed for answers Dick doubts Bruce would answer. Despite it being years and how they’ve manged to move on from what happened, long conversations and healing with Jason himself playing into that, seeing Jason this young again is bringing up raw emotions and memories.
“Thanks for breakfast Alfred.” Dick says pushing himself up away from the side he had been leaning on the entire time. He smiles at the elderly man as he heads out of the kitchen in pursuit of his younger siblings, the least he can do until Bruce calls him for help is try to keep the rest of them out of trouble. He just hopes they can find a solution to what’s happened sooner rather than later.

If I had a nickel for every time I drew Tim insisting that Jason is a good person I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s sad that it’s happened twice.
anyways have some de-aged Tim angst

Tim Drake de-aging fic but everyone is just kind blown how that little monster is the Timothy Jackson Drake that they know.
He’s not even a gremlin, he’s just mean and knows a little too much about stuff than the usual rich brat.
Damian: tsk, you’re such a disgrace the Wayne name.
Tiny!Tim: yeah? And your mother should have swallowed, but we’re both here aren’t we?
or
Jason, thinking he could bully smol Timmy: you stopped so low that you replaced a dead boy! *emo edge lord noises*
Baby!Tim, having learned new slang words via duke and Steph who think this whole thing is hilarious: have you ever thought about just getting better?
Jason: ex-fucking-cuse me?
Tim, shrugging: dying really is just a skill issue ngl
it would be even more funny if he was like this only to Damian and Jason so everyone thinks Tim is such a smart, adorable little boy but the two of them are screaming at Dick and Bruce to get that fucking demonic child exorcised

De-Aged Danny, gesturing to a dazed Bruce inside Wayne Manor: And this is Bruce! Otherwise known as the Himbo! Reporters: Hmm, yes, interesting... Bruce: What the- Danny: I'm not sure what that word means. I heard it from Dick, but no one will give me my answer, not even Jason, who is easily bribed. Bruce: Why are there reporters in my house!? Danny, innocent and childlike: They asked to come inside, Bruce! They seemed like really nice people, so I thought it'd be polite to give them a tour. Bruce, filled with infinite patience: I really wish you had asked me before you did that, chum. Danny: But why? We don't have anything to hide... do we, Bruce?
Or, in order to rise to the Ghost Throne, Danny has to complete a series of trials to prove he is capable of ruling (or any other reason, Danny just needs to do trials to prove himself).
The last trial, issued by Clockwork, is thus: discover the Wayne Family secret in two weeks without the use of any of his powers.
He has one shapeshift to pick a form that could endere him to the Waynes, but only one before he starts and he has to get close to the family by his own wits. Danny, after studying the family and reading of one sentence summary of each Wayne, picks the body of a six-year-old little boy that looked like a child Jason Todd.
Bruce: That child is up to something. Dick, third favorite: I don't know, Bruce; he acts like a normal kid. Jason, #1 favorite: I doubt the old man's ever met a normal kid. Tim, least favorite: Bruce is right, but can you please not talk like the villains from Chicken Run.

Danny is the type of guy gal ghost to Commit To a Bit. This is very common knowledge
But he may have overdone it this time.
---
Dan and Ellie had met the Red Hood, who seemed yucky. Ellie said this herself. Jason was not amused, and did not appreciate them following him around for the rest of the week.
After a bout of panic, Danny had finally tracked the tykes down. After seeing who they were with, he sighed. Of course those two would. Well he could play at that game.
Danny had popped in and pecked him on both sides of the helmet, leaving a casual lie before legging it.
"Hey hun, thanks for watching the kids. I'll take it from here."
---
It's been a month now, and somehow he has two kids with a notorious crime boss and goes on nightly dates with him.

Another de-aged Danny au, but he's with Dan & Ellie & Jazz as well.
Jason has like just arrived back to Gotham, caused chaos in the underbelly due to well, 8 heads in a duffle bag, and is just starting his takeover of Crime Alley. It's going good, great even! And then he busts some sort of gang or smuggling ring run by people in white suits and there's... holy shit why do these four toddlers have Lazarus eyes?!
Is that a lab?! And Lazarus waters?! Jason might be a bit mad but he's not an asshole, he's not going to just leave these kids here to the streets. He can't just take them to the Batclan either, and as much as he begrudgingly trusts Talia, he sure as fuck doesn't trust Ras. Who knows what he'd do to four... what are they, pit-kids?
Now he's juggling his whole revenge-thing, running a criminal empire, taking over Gotham's underbelly, and being a single dad. At least the goonion seems to be down for helping, seeing as he's making Crime Alley safer...? .... Fuck he needs some proper sleep

While we're on the topic of De-aging AU's I wanna talk about Jason and Damian if Jason was 14 again real quick.
Do you guys think that Damian looks at this version of Jason, so different from the version he knows, nothing like the person he was told Jason was, and feels uncomfortably seen?
Damian was always told that Jason died because he was reckless, because he disobeyed orders, he was fired as Robin and he got himself killed. A cautionary tale, not a threat to his position. He dismisses Jason because Bruce does, because Dick does, because sometimes even Babs and Alfred do.
That's not the kid that he's looking at now. This Jason is happy, and smart, and full of love that has not yet soured into grief. He hangs on Bruce's every word, trains until his hands bleed and his body gives out to perfect the moves Bruce teaches him. He looks at Bruce with stars in his eyes and he calls him dad.
And Damian can't help but think, that this is the perfect Robin. The perfect son. And if Jason - sweet, loving, strong, Jason - can be fired, can die and have his room locked away and his pictures torn down, can have his last memory as Robin be as A Good Soldier, how could the rest of them ever compete? What could Damian do to stand a chance?
Jason will never grow out of the shadow of Robin, like the rest of them did. As long as Bruce, and Dick, and Babs, and Alfred look at him and see a dead kid who came back wrong, he will never get to be anything else. He will not get to be looked at through who he is now without the shadow of a dead boy looming over him.
And the worst part? Jason is exactly the same person he was back then. Bitter, sure, angry, justifiably, but he is still the boy with too much love in his heart and righteous fury festering in his gut. He is exactly the same boy who threw himself in front of an explosion to save his mother.
(The lines between the mother that betrayed him and the father that disgraced him are so very blurred. Fire or blade or crowbars or fists it does not matter. It ends the same way it always does because Jason Todd always dies, in every universe, in every timeline, Jason dies and crawls out only to be killed again and again and again.)

Bruce savored his coffee, relishing the peace after a challenging night tackling increased crime spillover from Metropolis. It was a rare moment alone, away from the daily hustle and bustle of dealing with the kids.
“We’re back!” A loud, cheerful voice shattered the peace from the hallway. Bruce sighed, realizing his envisioned peaceful afternoon was short-lived. Nine little kids bounded through the front door. Wait…nine kids? Bruce did another quick headcount and confirmed that, no, it wasn’t a stress-induced hallucination—there was an additional kid who wasn’t there that morning when the group left for the fair.
As the kids walked past him towards the stairs, Bruce pulled off their caps and scanned their faces one by one to make sure. Dick, Jason, Barbara, Steph, Tim, Cass, Duke, Damian… Finally, he came across an unfamiliar face. The boy stared up at him. “Dad?” The kid launched himself towards him and hugged his thighs. “You’re back!”
Bruce gently extracted the kid from his legs and bent down to take a closer look at him. The boy’s forehead creased, his lips pouting and seemingly on the verge of tears. “You’re not my dad.”
“I don’t think so, kid,” said Bruce. “What’s your name?”
“This is Jon,” said Damian, locking arms with the boy.
“Jon,” Bruce repeated blankly.
“Jon recently lost his dad. We told him that’s okay, not everyone has parents, so he can come and live with us!” Dick said.
Bruce could feel an impending headache coming on. “Dick, you can’t just-” Bruce wanted to refute Dick’s words, but his brain was doing somersaults at the moment, so he gave up. “I’m sorry to hear that,” Bruce said instead to Jon. “How did you lose him?”
“My dad got hit by a green rock by a robot and fell off the mountain. I flew over it a few times, but I couldn’t find him! So I went to the fair to see if he was there,” said Jon.
Flew over the mountain? Green rock? There was only one person that Bruce could think of who could fly and had a weakness towards green rocks. “Is your dad Superman?” said Bruce, knowing and dreading the answer.
“Yeah!” Great, the one superhero whom Bruce had managed to avoid dealing with so far, who had suddenly gone missing since Sunday and was apparently passed out somewhere at the foot of a mountain. And whose kid his own children had kidnapped. Bruce’s day just kept getting better and better.

A few moments of baby Danny having fun,
It all started when Danny learned he could change his age! Well, he took an item from Clockwork for this prank. But they are fun!!!
Red Hood lost his weapon to a toddler. Red Hood is trying to help the lost toddler talking about how he is a real hero with real Guns:" Come on, it's not a toy. It's the real deal." Danny: "No, no real!" Red Hood gets annoyed: "Fine, you don't believe it's real? Here, take it." Danny was surprised:" Ooo, real!" (holds the gun) Red Hood: "Yeah, yeah, it's real. Wait, what did I just do?" Danny teleports away: "Wheee!" Red Hood:" What the...? Oh, come on! Come  back, I'llbuy you candy for the gun!" +
John Constantine lost in a horse bet against baby Danny money; don't ask how or why he even bet with a toddler. He just lost money. John: (sighs) Bloody hell, lost again in a horse bet against you, Danny. Baby Danny: (giggles, waving a tiny hand) Horsie 2! Danny pointed at the empty wallet. John: There is no money left, mate. But, uh, how 'bout this?" John scribbles on a piece of paper and hands it to Baby Danny. JOHN (CONT'D) I owe you, alright?
Later, with the Justice League Dark, John summons a demon.
Demon: (roaring laughter)" Look who's here, the bloke who lost his soul to a toddler!" John: (bewildered)" What the bloody hell are you talking about?" Demon: (mockingly) That doodle on the paper. You handed over a piece of your soul to a baby. Now that's a first!" John: (facepalms) Bugges. I will later talk with Bat; I need money. around 10.000$" + Zatanna, while a magic show pulls toddler Danny out of her hat. Not a rabbit. Zatanna: And for my next trick... (pulls from her hat, has toddler Danny in her hand, not a rabbit) Zatanna: (confused) Wait, where did you come from? Danny: (giggling) Hat! Hat! Danny grabs her hat and suddenly disappears. Zatanna blinks in amazement, trying to make sense of the unexpected teleportation, as the audience applauds.

Having so many de aged! Jason feelings. I might just burst.
Dick and Tim theorize on how a small, happy little baby winded up in Jason's apartment. It's no secret their brother, a wall of bulk with a tender core, houses the homeless sometimes.
Maybe the baby is someone's? But if so, why was he alone? Jason isn't exactly famous for his unquestionable wisdom, but he's too caring to leave a defenceless infant by himself.
More importantly, why is this baby rolling on his tummy on a familiar brown jacket, evidently craving to be picked up?
"Can you take him? I'm not..." Tim's not good with kids; It's a running joke among them. Even If there's nothing comical about this.
Dick nods. His pride does swell when the baby giggles and coos.
"He has good taste."
" Okay, Narcissus. Let's take him home before your head pops,'' was Tim just a tiny bit jealous this little chubby cheeked thing was snuggling close to Dick, while downright glowering at him?
Maybe. A little. But babies were glorified chunks of meat, shaped just enough like a human to be considered cute. What did they know?
So they get home. It's a pleasant rarity, but they're all in one place.
All except Bruce, of course. Too busy bleeding on the streets to spend any time with them, Dick huffs,
Poor Damian is trying to jump and leap amongst them giants, struggling to take a peek at their young guest, " Grayson! I want the baby!"
" He's not a toy, Dami," they all share a silent look, clearly thinking the same thing. He got it from Bruce,
"What does it do?"
" He's a baby, Steph. He's not even aware he exists!"
" God I wish that were me,"
Duke looks at Babybird, as Dick affectionately took to calling him, with a strange, quizzical look, " He looks familiar. You said you found him at Jay's?"
" Yeah, but I'm taking him to a firestation. I just had to show B. You know he likes volunteering at daycares. Maybe he'll recognize him."
" Recognize who?"
Babybird was chewing on his own foot when the elevator doors slid open. Cass wasn't a wordsmith.
She read movements and actions as one listens to music.
Every member of her beloved family was a song of their own; Dick was motivational and calming.
Stephanie was packed with action, brimming with electrifying energy that just made you want to jump.
Tim was clean and precise with accents of pop. Duke was light and happy and silently confident. Damian was angry, and passionate and brave.
Bruce was powerful, sad, and perfectly tragic.
But when Babybird shrieked, yelled out in happiness and excitement and tried to wiggle out of Dick's arms with a sunshine beam and grabby hands?
Her father was a love song.
"Jay," The name sounds like Bruce is choking. His eyes are burning with tears, marching directly to Dick, " Jay? Jay!"
" Wh--"
"Dada!" Babybird, -- Jason? They only now noticed the white curl bouncing on top of his head, ( their inner detectives groan) " Dadadada, pap papi pap,"
They can't do anything, frozen in place, as Bruce spends the following two hours planting a garden of kisses on Jason's cheeks, full with laughter, while they read and color and build blocks.
"Uh, Bruce? I'm...I'm gonna call Zatanna."
" In a minute."
" DAD, --"
" In a minute."
It wasn't just a minute. It was an entire week.
As ridiculous as it was? They were starting to get jealous.

Ghost Twins: Lost in Gotham
A/N: I finally got my copy of AGIT and it sparked this prompt idea, I might continue on...
"Of all the times why were we thrown into a different dimension…"
"I am not happy about this either, twerp."
Danny gave his body double a scorching glare. Dan only shrugged as he leaned back into the park bench, hiding a chuckle. Even if the situation was dire, it was kind of funny too. Good things had changed so much since he got a human body. Danny had become more of a brother to him than his nemesis or time original, especially since Danny had gotten the crown and was trying to smooth things over for ghosts and humans. Plus he finally understood why Jazz like to tease them so much as her younger siblings. He got to tease his time original / cousin / 'younger' brother now too, well he did see himself as the older one when they could technically pass as twins.
"We are stuck looking like this! Our powers don't work and I can't open a portal, Dan!"
"And what do you want me to do about it? Clockwork is not responding to either of us."
Dan studied Danny who was still pacing in knee-high snow, then looked down at his hand which was smaller than he remembered. He tried reaching out to his ghost powers but nothing responded. From the corner of his eyes, he noticed Danny stopping his pacing and looking back at Dan, his voice soft from resignation.
"What is the last thing you remember?"
"It's... nothing." I don't remember what I did last. Why do you ask?"
"It's the same for me. We are stranded for some unknown reason in an entirely different Dimension in six-year-old bodies, with no clue or solution to get home and our ghost powers being all wonky as shit! And clockwork won't react to us yelling his name into the snowstorm we are currently in! At least we are cold-resistant!"
Danny resumed pacing in the snow, kicking random little snow hills he was making with his pacing as he ranted. Dan was watching him from the park bench with a scowl of his own. Both had found themself waking up to each other in a pile of snow in a park that was located in a city they had no idea about, the only thing they had was a green sticky note with the words 'Code Bat: Different Dimension'.
That led to Danny yelling for clockwork into the starting snowstorm. They knew their powers weren't completely gone. Wherever they were they were in a place with a lot of ambient ectoplasm.
"We should look for a way out of the snow twerp. Even with cold resistance, we should stay out here." Dan huffed as he tried to make out the buildings around them outside of the park, Danny instantly stopped pacing tilting his head.
"Where should-"
Both boys yelled in absolute horror as they suddenly got picked up and were carried like a sack of potatoes under the arms of strange guys. Instincts kicked in and the two instantly fought back but the guys carrying them didn't appear to be bothered.
The wind whisked past their ears making hearing anything difficult until they finally got put down next to each other. Instantly Dan took half a step before Danny, glaring at the ones that abducted them from a park. "Who the fuck are you, guys?!"
"Language kid. And I should be asking what the fuck you little kids were doing out in the middle of the worst Snowstorm Gotham had in a long time?" The guy in a red helmet said towering over them with crossed arms. "I know you street rats are smarter than staying out in the open like this. Don't you kids have a shelter?"
Street Rats? Okay, so what if their clothes looked a little ratty? Hold a second. Danny and Dan looked at each other briefly as if for the first time noticing how worn the clothes they had looked compared to what they were used to wearing. Great so not only were they in twin six-year-old bodies but also wearing such worn-out clothes that people saw them as street rats.
"None of your fucking business." Dan retorted, the fun of the situation now gone and anger and frustration settling in as he glared at their abductors. Danny on the other hand tilted his head miming the confused child as he stared up at them.
"We got lost."
"You got lost?" The other guy in blue with a mask asked them unbelieving and Danny only nodded.
"Yup, we got lost."
Dan watched how the two adults playing dress up exchanged glances. He peaked back at Danny and then back at them. Before making a probably short-sighted decision.
"Fuck this!" He said out loud and grabbed his twin's hand. Once more he reached for his ghost core and powers, internally yelling at it to get a response. And it worked, sort of.
He felt intangibility wash over them so he attempted to escape by phasing him and Danny through the ground only… to get halfway stuck as the old on his ghostly powers got lost. Dan's eye twitched as he realized he was stuck in the ground up to his tights.
"Dan what the fuck?!" Danny who was now stuck knee-deep into the floor yelled.
"I was at least attempting to escape!"
"We are stuck now! This is even worse! You could have just let me talk our way out of this!"
"Oh hell no. I remember the others saying often enough that you should not do the talking!"
"Phasing us through the floor is not better at all! Our powers are wonky or did you forget that?!"
While the twin boy's where fighting Nightwing and Red Hood exchanged worried glances.
"Hood…"
"Yea… Probably Meta Twins on the run."
"I will contact the others."

DC X DP fic idea: Congratulations! It's Triplets!
Jason Todd can't remember half the crazy shit he did when he returned from the dead. There were a few years when his memory gaps were so significant lost he honestly forgot what year it was.
So he's not surprised he did some dumb shit where he was less weapon and more power-hungry teen.
He doesn't remember Jazz Fenton that well, but he does remember waking up next to her, making her breakfast as a thank-you for the fun night, and slipping away before she could ask too many questions. Logically he knows that leaving before she woke up was a bit of a asshole move but he hadn't cared back then.
He had thought he would never see her again.
Imagine his surprise when she enters a youth space program WE is running five years later. By this point, he had calmed most of his pit rage and had reconnected with his family. Bruce had even legally made him alive again so he's there as Brucie's second oldest.
Tim had practically shoved him as one of the heads of the program since Jason had rapidly developed the image of being the most Charity drive Wayne.
The point was to help city kids go on clear sky trips and co-work with NASA to help children who love the stars get closer to them.
Jason knew that Jazz, a woman of twenty-three, would have no reason to be present since the program was for kids ages four to twelve.
But the three dark hair blue, eye triplets that were dragging her around the booths indeed did.
By the looks of the triplets, they were five to six-year Olds.
Jason also noticed another thing about them. They were exact copies of himself and five years ago was the last time he saw Jazz before slipping away.
It wasn't possible right?
Trying not to bring attention to himself, he followed them through the event, noting every little gesture the children made. With each passing second he saw more and more of himself in them. Once the lights were dimmed for the crew to project an exploding star on the walls and ceiling, he could creep close enough and steals three hair samples.
Later he would test the DNA against his own and find himself staring at the results with slight horror.
He's a father to triplets and left their mother alone to raise them on her own. Jason needed to fix this as soon as he could.
(Danny, Dani and Dan get de-age after a misguided attempt to take the throne from Danny by a ghost whose extraordinary power was to revert people into a weaker stage and attack them. Luckily even as small children, they were able to defeat her. Unfortunately, they would have to regrow the human way to return to their ages.
Clockwork offers them a different dimension for them to age in, explaining it run crazy slow compared to thier own. One year in the other world would be a week back home.
They talk to Jazz who agrees to take emergency leave from work after faking a terrible accident with her brother, and she hopes over to Earth-slightly-to-the-left to find a house suitable for re-raising her siblings. There she realizes this is her chance to enjoy her youth too.
She has her first one-night stand.
She doesn't tell them when they hope over, and all of them go about life as simply as they can in a city as dangerous as Gotham.
They find out later that there is even a slight version of their family here though it's primarily due to someone on their dads' side of the family messing up the family tree by marrying someone different than their great-grandfather
Instead of Fentons, the versions of their family name is, Evans. Crazy.
Even more Crazy is that they return home after a week-long camping trip through a NASA-based program to find Bruce Wayne at their doorstep, a team of lawyers behind him, and Jason Todd holding flowers next to him.
He thinks he's the father of the three because that's what the DNA pulls since it's a version of them and when Jazz is so worried about collapsing the timeline and getting on Clockworks bad side she plays along.
She later finds out from a very calm Danny that Jason is not related to them. It's just that their comeback from the dead rearranged all three of their DNAs, so Jason was merely matching there. Jazz testing herself against Jason proves this to be true.
Dan and Dani? They just wanted a rich dad who showered them with gifts in an attempt to make up for missing six years of their lives.
Danny just wants Jazz to admit she's in love with Jason.
Abd Jazz? Well, she just wants to be a good guardian for them and hopes she can pretend to be Jason's baby mamma until they can hope back home.)
