#this is NOT about LGBT/Mentall illness

“queer spaces should be inclusive of people who don’t enjoy sex and who have “strange”, negative or repulsed relationships with sex” and “sex is an important aspect of lgbt community, history, and activism and queer people should be allowed and able to talk freely about sex without stigma or shame” are ideas that can and should coexist.
#‘queer people were banned from and shamed for having sex and that’s where a lot of our activism stemmed from’ and#‘not liking or having sex is considered abnormal and a mental illness and also needs to be destigmatized’ are concepts that not only can but#often do coalign#it’s esp important to consider that a lot of lgbt ppl who have a tricky and strained relationship with sex are like that because of trauma#which is very common for queer folks#it’s really not an ace-only thing#like i am sex repulsed but it’s very hard to discern if it’s because i’m asexual or if it’s the trauma. either way i deserve to have those#feelings and be included in lgbt spaces and discussions about sex and treated as just another queer person with a different experience#instead of being alienated because my feelings about sex don’t directly line up with yours#im so sick of people in this community trying to pit us against each other. as an ace lesbian that shit is so toxic and harmful#my relationship with sex is fluid. im sex-positive always‚ but i often find myself sex repulsed. im otherwise neutral about it but im sick#of people acting like it’s either you enjoy sex and have it frequently or you hate it and you shame everyone who has it like youre a puritan#and it’s often aphobes who bought into that ‘aces are puritanical celibate straights who want ppl who have gay sex to die or think they’re#‘dirty’ or some shit. and it was literally 90% crypto-aphobes pretending to be aces to get people to adopt that into their belief system#the same way crypto-t/rfs pretend to be trans women who want to prey on the ‘innocent women’#and y’all will use those posts/screenshots as ‘evidence’ that whatever scapegoat you’ve selected is actually inherently bad/homophobic/#misogynistic/etc and not even#acknowledge the giant hole in your logic cuz you’re too busy trying to find a scapegoat#it’s the same tactics and y’all fall for it every time#text post#like. lesbians are CONSTANTLY getting hounded and told that we’re broken or mentally i’ll for not showing interest in (having sex with) men#for the same reason asexuality is considered bad or wrong or weird#not showing interest in heterosexual relationships or sex is why this is so important#anyone that falls outside the scope of heterosexuality is part of this community whether you like it or not

Radblr! I know people on here have rightfully brought up how trans activists use people with DSD’s as political pawns, but the alternative is not to do that ourselves, and only bring up them when we can use them to criticize trans activism. I see people do this a lot. Intersex people are regularly medically abused and there is a lack of knowledge of their DSD’s even among professionals.

I had a mildly unoriginal not-shower, shower thought:
If you are mentally ill and also queer
You’re a fruit and nut💀

the day bpd stops being treated as synonymous with “evil woman i find manipulative” disorder is the day i die happy. no wonder i was so scared to consider i had it until i realized my diagnosis when that’s how the media portrays women with it when trying to portray them as criminal, villainous, or guilty. idk when ill stop being angry about it.

I just found your blog a few minutes ago. I don't know how, but you showed up in my BDSM feed. I love what you're doing and I love your recent suspensions and aerial dances, however I don't know your story so I don't really understand everything that's going on. I'm guessing that once you were a dancer and that some sort of illness, say MS, has made dancing impossible for you. If this is the case, then I truly appreciate your joy and wonder at discovering you can dance while suspended. From some of your comments I assume that you are lesbian but they're also hints that you could bi or pan. I hope you don't find my questions to intrusive. I love that you live in Santa Cruz which is not very far away from San Francisco. I think that's kind of cool. I loved your reference to the aquarium.
Long post alert ⚠️
Aww, welcome! Tysm for reaching out, I probably got pushed to you bc of my shibari content, and interaction w other kink accounts lol. Ty also for your kind words, I appreciate hearing them so much.
You're correct, I have some serious physical & mental health issues, and was actually bedridden for seven years. I thought I wouldn't walk again, let alone something like ride a bike (which I also now do!) or dance, which I did from very young childhood thru getting sick in my mid20s (now late 30s). It is incredibly liberating and gets me crying every time, that I found a way to dance again, and I find it tragically romantic that I can dance in literally no other way. The cherry on top is that I sprained my ankle very badly right before those pics were taken, and am on crutches now, but not even that is enough to make my dancing stop.
I actually did finally admit to myself literally yesterday morning that I'm a homoflexible lesbian, if not also caed, where I'd been kind of clutching to bisexuality like some kind of security blanket for the last several years. I also identify as trans nonbinary femme, she/he/they pronouns.
For the record, I felt nothing but care and human kindness from your questions, it feels wonderful to be invited to share these things about myself. It's not something I have much experience with yet, so tysm for asking ❤️
I'm a community organizer down here in Santa Cruz, I host a "NonMonogaMeetup" in town, and am getting established in the kink & queer communities as well, not sure how often you make it down here but feel free to check us out on Plura/Fet😊
P.S. I love that aquarium so much ❤️😭😭

Twitter is literally just… Liveleak/ rotten.com all over again. You cannot go on there even casually without running into fucking assault shit, animal abuse (a few zoo clips just went viral within the last two days……….. TWO had been rec to me because of twitters atrocious algorithm that just puts literally anything on your feed. I don’t really go on my feed like that anyway so I miss out on most stuff. I scrolled by so fast🗿), child abuse, hardcore gore/murders, and accidents, literally anything, man.

i'm so constantly tempted to put little supernatural references in the creative writing story i'm working on for uni, even though it has literally nothing to do with spn whatsoever

Is it that trans people are predisposed to being mentally ill inherently for being trans, or is it that being put in an environment which is actively hostile toward us with very few ways to escape or evade it is mentally harmful?

By the way, my main tumblr is a fandom blog so it has a personal sideblog and that side blog is also attached to this one here.
I'm not going to post the url publicly, because it has my actual name and other blogs linked on it, but if we're mutuals there's a chance that blog may show up in your notes / may already be in your notes.
If you're someone who is wary of unknown blogs in your notes you can dm me for that url and I'll give it to you there!
I just don't want to post the url publicly because unfortunately my main blogs have a stalker who has been harassing me since late last year ( this person won't go after the people I reblog from, they're only interested in me for defending a long-time friend of mine from them because they ran my friend off tumblr altogether with their nonsense ).

I want to make a test similar to the Vito Russo, Duvernay, and Bechdel test but for asexuals in media.
The NRHODACT Test (I'm not good at names ok and similar to how things are named after the person that created it, I'm gonna roll with it for now lol.)
Rules for an asexual character to pass as good representation
- 1 or more asexual characters must be present in the story
- Audience must know the character is asexual through the story not by information outside of it. (Writers revealing the character is ace through their social media, Livestreams, Live Q&A)
- They must be relevant to the story. (If the story can function without them, they are irrelevant)
- Their sexuality must be taken as seriously as any other sexual orientation. (No invalidation by the other characters unless said characters are meant to be in the wrong and are reprimanded for it later on. Invalidation includes characters of other sexual orientations claiming their struggles are worse than theirs, making light of their asexuality, treated as less of an adult for being asexual, if it is a show centered around LGBTQ+ characters sexualities, the asexual character should have equal attention brought to their orientation)
