DORO Shares Music Video For 'Time For Justice' Single From 'Conqueress - Forever Strong And Proud' Album

German metal queen Doro Pesch will release her new studio album, "Conqueress - Forever Strong And Proud", on October 27 via Nuclear Blast.

The 19-song LP is described in a press release as "the result of intensive hard work that took the incomparable singer and songwriter back to studios in Miami, New York and Hamburg, amongst others. The album presents Doro at the height of her creative powers."

To kick off the album release, Doro has released "Time For Justice", a fiery first single that immediately thrills with its powerful, wild vibe, presented alongside a terrific "Mad Max"-style video. The clip was recently filmed with director Mirko Witzki (CALIBAN, ANY GIVEN DAY, EMIL BULLS).

"Conqueress - Forever Strong And Proud" will arrive one day before Doro's 40th-anniversary concert at the Mitsubishi Electric Halle in Düsseldorf, Germany.

On November 26, 2021, Corey Zelonis died in a car crash just six months before he graduated high school. The local press and police agency actively minimized Corey’s death stating “he lost control of the vehicle, crossed the double yellow line, and struck a tree” without being transparent as to the true cause and circumstances behind the accident.

Corey’s mother, Melissa Zelonis, stayed on top of the investigation updates, constantly inquiring for more information. Her point of contact was Sergeant Phelps of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO). Sgt Phelps was the lead investigator for Corey’s case but consistently ignored Melissa’s concerns and questions about the impending investigation. When Melissa was finally able to view the totaled vehicle, she noticed a liquor bottle was placed in Corey’s car presumably to make it appear as though Corey was driving under the influence. She also found it strange that the liquor bottle was sitting perfectly upright while the rest of items in the car were in a total disarray.

Following toxicology reports, it was determined that Corey was not under the influence of any substance. In fact, his system was completely clean from any drugs or alcohol. Melissa followed up with Sgt Phelps about this new information but Sgt Phelps provided no further feedback and never brought up the potential of substance use again.

As time passed, Melissa grew more and more uneasy about the manner that Corey’s accident and death were being handled by Sgt Phelps and CCSO. With legal support, Melissa was able to have a second investigation conducted which , included an accident reconstruction. The secondary investigation proved that Sgt Phelps had not properly investigated Corey’s accident and Corey was not at fault for the accident.

The second investigation revealed there was a second car present at the time of the accident. Witnesses of the accident say CCSO officers spoke to the passengers of the second car but released them from the scene soon after. The passengers of the second car were an older man and his daughter with out of state tags. With reports from the witnesses and the findings of the secondary investigation, it was made clear that Corey was entering the cross section where the secondary car was making erratic and unpredictable movements. It is now obvious that Corey swerved only to avoid the erratic movements of the secondary car and that his speed was found not to be a factor in the accident.

As expected, the local news outlets and police report by CCSO do not mention that Corey was driving with the right of way and only swerved to avoid another car driving erratically. Sgt. Phelps, local news outlets, and CCSO worked to minimize not only Corey’s death but also his existence.

Corey is remembered fondly as a loving and compassionate boy. Melissa adored Corey’s natural instinct to stand up for and help those in need. Corey was a high school senior whose kindhearted nature and concern for others was ultimately the cause of his untimely and heartbreaking demise.

Sign this petition to hold Sgt. Phelps accountable for improperly investigating Corey Zelonis’ accident and death. We must hold CCSO accountable for allowing and accepting this unlawful investigation.

Golf Courses ARE Being Converted

The Solarpunk "fantasy" that so many of us tout as a dream vision, converting golf courses into ecological wonderlands, is being implemented across the USA according to this NYT article!

The article covers courses in Michigan, Pennsylvania, California, Colorado, and New York that are being bought and turned into habitat and hiking trails.

The article goes more into detail about how sand traps are being turned into sand boxes for kids, endangered local species are being planted, rocks for owl habitat are being installed, and that as these courses become wilder, they are creating more areas for biodiversity to thrive.

Most of the courses in transition are being bought by Local Land Trusts. Apparently the supply of golf courses in the USA is way over the demand, and many have been shut down since the early 2000s. While many are bought up and paved over, land Trusts have been able to buy several and turn them into what the communities want: public areas for people and wildlife. It does make a point to say that not every hold course location lends itself well to habitat for animals (but that doesn't mean it wouldn't make great housing!)

So lets be excited by the fact that people we don't even know about are working on the solutions we love to see! Turning a private space that needs thousands of gallons of water and fertilizer into an ecologically oriented public space is the future I want to see! I can say when I used to work in water conservation, we were getting a lot of clients that were golf courses that were interested in cutting their resource input, and they ended up planting a lot of natives! So even the golf courses that still operate could be making an effort.

So what I'd encourage you to do is see if there's any land or community trusts in your area, and see if you can get involved! Maybe even look into how to start one in your community! Through land trusts it's not always golf course conversions, but community gardens, solar fields, disaster adaptation, or low cost housing! (Here's a link to the first locator I found, but that doesn't mean if something isn't on here it doesn't exist in your area, do some digging!)

DORO Performs New Single 'Time For Justice' Live At Italy's LUPPOLO IN ROCK

German metal queen Doro Pesch played her new single, "Time For Justice", live on July 21 at the Luppolo In Rock festival in Cremona, Italy. Fan-filmed video of the performance can be seen below.

"Time For Justice" is the first single from Doro's new studio album, "Conqueress - Forever Strong And Proud", which will be made available on October 27 via Nuclear Blast.

Regarding the musical direction of "Conqueress - Forever Strong And Proud", Doro said: "It's pretty heavy. It's pretty hard. The first five songs are totally heavy. Then there's a midtempo anthem coming on. But I think it's pretty heavy. The song 'I Will Prevail' is the heaviest, I think. And the opener I love so much. It's called 'Children Of The Dawn'. And then there's some duets on it."
