HOW I’VE BEEN SUCESSFULLY LOSING WEIGHT: Notes from a former binge eater ♥️
*this guide is to show how ~I~ do things and offer advice on how to do it MY way. I am in no way encouraging anyone to do themselves harm. First off,
HEALTH IS WEALTH.
That being said.. this is literally the longest I’ve ever gone without bingeing. It’s just,,, easy this time. Once you get a feel of what it’s like to be skinny you just don’t crave junk as much anymore bc you KNOW it’s not worth it. The trick is to eat clean 90% of the time and allow your favorite treats 10% do the time. Fit them into your calorie limit!!! Here’s some personal favorites that have helped me lose like 20lbs in the past 2 months.
I tend to do one higher- calorie drink during the day (protein shake, Starbucks, etc) and one healthy filling but low cal meal and a sweet snack at the end of the night.
LOW CALORIE 90%
Mediterranean salad (~150): mixed greens, chopped bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, red onion. Little bit of feta cheese. Balsamic vinegar (not dressing or vinegarette!!!!) I don’t add meat but you could totally add chicken for low cal high protein choice. You could also add olives but I don’t fw them.
Chocolate Protein shakes from the gas station (loll). They’re 220 cal on average and a great treat. Strawberry one is good too.
SEAWEED SNACKS they’re literally 30-60 calories for a pack and kill my urge to eat chips!!! Please give them a try!
Soups. Soups that are already portioned and have the calorie amount posted. I add extra seasonings and spice to boost metabolism.
Coffee!! With almond milk and a little coffee creamer. It’s worth the calories if you want a coffee just make one it’s better than going to Starbucks.
Sushi: I’m vegetarian so I get an avocado and cucumber roll. It’s so good with fresh ginger and a little soy sauce. Sometimes I will be craving it allllllll day and have it as my OMAD so rewarding 🥹
Miso soup>>>>>> add tofu and seaweed and onions!! And mushrooms if you like them.
Monster Ultra energy drinks,,,, yeah I know they’re bad for you but I love them.
Fruits!!! I especially love strawberries, watermelon, cherries, blackberries, pineapple and mangoes.
TREATS 10%
Trail mix: dried cherries, pecans, walnuts, pistachios, cashews. High in calories but perfect for killing hunger. High protein keeps you full and muscles strong, high healthy fats will keep your hair and skin and nails beautiful.
Chocolates: SMALL PORTIONS. if you can’t eat just eat a piece without bingeing, do NOT buy a big bag. what I do is I buy a bar of whatever chocolate I’m craving for my bf and we share it piece by piece. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white, hazelnut, with coffee beans, with toffee, fruits, chocolate is the best thing ever 🍫
Starbucks! My fav drinks are matcha lattes (hot/iced), iced white chocolate mocha, caramel macchiato, and occasionally a pumpkin spice latte. Peppermint mochas on the holidays. Oat milk always
Baked goods. Same deal as the chocolate, ONLY BUY THE PORTION YOURE GOING TO EAT. If you have been craving a croissant, go get one. One. Don’t buy a whole dozen of them. You will end up bingeing trust me. My favs are cinnamon rolls <3
Habits
I’m going to the gym!!! Consistently for the first time in my life. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy. Spend 30 min on the treadmill alternating between incline walking and easy paced jogging. Put on a YouTube video. Wear pink and bring a cute water bottle. You have to make an experience out of it! I stick to cardio and full body stretches plus ocasional (light) strength workouts w my bf.
I don’t drink anymore. Just 🍃. Alc is so high in sugar and carbs and it’s literally poison bro. I know it’s hard to stop but once you do you’ll feel so much better.
I rarely weigh myself. I’m at my bfs house all the time so I only step on my scale maybe 3 times a month. It’s been a game changer!!!
MINDSET
I practice mindfulness and speak kindly to myself. Basically sweetspo + affirmations to myself all the time.
Taking more pride in your appearance will also help motivate you. You think you’ll still want to binge after you took a full body shower, clean PJ’s or outfit, painted your nails, skincare and makeup done, whitened your teeth and lit a candle? No thanks.
Limit stupid, negative, useless media consumption. Watch things that have to do with your hobbies/ interests and your social media algorithms begin to kinda clean themselves up over time. My pages are all about exercise, study blogs, beauty tips and sciencey stuff. No more drama or celebrity nonsense. Cut down your following!!
Remember you only have one life on earth. You’re young and hot once. Don’t you want to grab this chance while you have it? Unfortunately your beauty is your currency especially as a woman, so if there’s anything I can do to give myself a better life I will. Losing just a few pounds of fat will make the craziest difference in ways you’d never expect. Free and discounted stuff. More people smile at you and listen to what you have to say. Both literal and figurative doors will be opened for you.Clothes fit better bc they’re more flattering when your body is fit and healthy. While it feels good to get validation from other people, the best part of it is looking in the mirror and feeling proud instead of ashamed. The inner confidence that comes from successful transformation………….there’s no other feeling that compares. If you know, you know. I’m just saying,, the choice is yours 🤷🏼‍♀️

Morningscape
Mornings at 97 Weston Avenue, Apartment #5 and subsequently at the Victoria Mall usually follow the same pattern each day, and Edward has the routine down to a science now.
7:15 AM. Alarm sounds. Edward rolls over, yawns, and shuts it off; if he's not quick enough, he gets a pillow directly to the face. Despite his half-asleep state and his bed being against the opposite wall, Cheslock's aim is formidable.
7:19 AM. Edward brushes his teeth, washes his face, and changes into his sweatpants and hoodie. His jogging clothes are folded neatly on his bedside table, making it easy for him to access them in the dark. There's a deal in place: Cheslock isn't allowed to let his pet rats into the room, and Edward isn't allowed to open the blackout curtains over the window before Cheslock's had his coffee.
7:21 AM. Edward goes for a two-mile jog around the neighborhood. He meets up with Greenhill- a friend of his and the manager of the sports equipment store where they work- at the dog park, and they do a few laps of the trail together. Greenhill's own morning workout starts at 6:00 AM, which Edward admires but doesn't feel up to doing just yet.
8:00 AM. After heading back to the apartment and taking a quick shower, Edward gets dressed for the day and starts cooking breakfast. Scrambled eggs on toast and a protein shake for himself, coffee for Cheslock. He's given up on trying to make Ches actually eat a proper meal first thing in the morning and simply makes some extra food. Nature will take its course.
8:15 AM. Cheslock comes into the kitchen and slumps over the back of Edward’s chair, wrapping his arms around Edward’s shoulders and burying his face in his hair.
“Good morning, Cheslock,” Edward says, after swallowing a bite of egg and bread. “Sleep well?”
“Hmrphlllmmghph.”
“Coffee’s on the counter.”
“Mmmphhh.”
8:22 AM. Edward finishes most of his breakfast and lets Cheslock steal the last piece of toast. After a cup and a half of caffeine, the latter is slightly more awake and has managed to open his eyes all the way.
8:25 AM. Edward puts the dishes in the sink and gives Cheslock a quick hug goodbye before heading out to catch the bus. His shift at Green's Sporting Goods starts at 8:45, but Edward likes to be at the Victoria Mall a few minutes early just in case. He uses this time to check his texts and emails on his phone- Lizzy usually sends him a cheery good morning missive.
8:40 AM. Edward arrives at the mall and heads upstairs to Green's Sporting Goods. Greenhill is already there and greets him. Edward gets to work; sprucing up the place and straightening merchandise for the first customers of the morning to walk in.
10:30 AM. Cheslock shows up for his shift. Ultra-Violet Tattoos and Piercings is right across the walkway from Green's Sporting Goods, which sometimes makes Greenhill complain that Edward gets distracted, but Edward's usually pretty good about keeping his eyes on his own work.
10:45 AM. Edward gets a 10-minute break, which he uses to grab a drink and stretch his legs a little.
12:00 PM. Lunchtime. Cheslock always prepares and brings lunch for the two of them. He's a fairly good cook, even if the food he makes is sometimes a little on the ‘experimental’ side. Edward has since learnt that peanut butter, jelly, and mustard isn't actually that bad a sandwich combination. They're occasionally joined in the break room by their managers and other mall employees- Bluewer and Clayton from Midnight Owl Bookshop, and Redmond and Harcourt from Maison des Roses. The latter two always smell nice.
Life is good. Edward enjoys these mornings.

𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝖎𝖗𝖊𝖓𝖊 𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞? expensive perfume. something designer and obscenely expensive, and extremely hard to get your hands on. one of those limited releases things. but that's when she leaves the house. at home, she prefers floral scents. sweet but not overwhelming. she'll either smell like flowers or something warm like honey and cinnamon. it depends on the season. it's always something enticing and extremely pleasant.
𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝖎𝖗𝖊𝖓𝖊'𝖘 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞? extremely soft. like, baby's bottom soft. her skin is naturally soft, but she takes very good care of it with daily lotioning. even before she was a dominatrix, she hardly ever did much labour work. they're also always pleasantly warm and they always smell like whatever her favourite hand lotion is at the time. whenever she comes in contact with water, she makes sure to lather her hands in lotion so they're always soft.
𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝖎𝖗𝖊𝖓𝖊 𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐝𝐚𝐲? a very calorie conscious, clean diet. mind you, she is the biggest supporter of indulgence, but as someone who grew up surrounded by people who indulged too much, irene is very good at taking care of her body. everything from vitamins, booster shots and organic ingredients. she'll have a high protein breakfast, low carbs, green smoothies. but, there's always room for a little sweet treat here and there.
𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝖎𝖗𝖊𝖓𝖊 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞? irene is a performer. she is a talented dancer and singer. she can play various instruments, but her favourite is the piano and acoustic guitar. she has a sultry singing voice, and is naturally gifted at singing. for a while, irene did seriously consider a professional singing career. music and dance is one of her deepest loves.
𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝖎𝖗𝖊𝖓𝖊 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬? none that anyone ever sees, except sherlock. she's an anxious tapper, and a nail biter, but only when she's in the privacy of her own home. out where others can see, no one would ever see even the tiniest crack in the perfect composure of her character.
𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝖎𝖗𝖊𝖓𝖊 𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 / 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫? picture perfect elegance. as the dominatrix, she wears designer clothes. ultra femnine, with a hint of femme fatale. blood red lipstick, skin tight dresses, pencil skirts, high heels and diamonds. when she isn't the dominatrix, she's casual. jeans, summer dresses. anything that feels good on the day, and the weather. but whatever she chooses to wear, it's usually a portrait of who she is in that moment.
𝐢𝐬 𝖎𝖗𝖊𝖓𝖊 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞? 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡? 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐨? extremely so. with the right people. physical touch is a weapon to be wielded and currency to be traded, but true affection? it's something rare and difficult to come by from her. it takes a lot for her to trust a person enough to even want to be affectionate with them. it takes a certain kind of vulnerability she doesn't wear all too often. more often than not, her affection is shown through gestures, rather than touch. a gift, a favour, attention. sometimes, the password of her phone.
𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝖎𝖗𝖊𝖓𝖊 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐧? on her side, hands tucked in under her head.
𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝖎𝖗𝖊𝖓𝖊 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦? not at all. she is very soft spoken, and rarely ever raises her voice, even when angry or agitated. composure is something that she prides herself in, but the idea of femininity she likes to present for her business requires this persona.

Hey, for any of my little sibs trying to learn to eat salads/vegetables but running into a lot of unhappiness/failure/sensory issues, I recently started learning to eat veggies after a lifetime of struggling due to autism and sensory issues, and I have some tips that I’ve collected along the way!
Forget all about the “healthiest varieties” or “most nutritional salads” elitism.
A lot of that talk is based on bogus science or half-truths to begin with, but even for anything that’s true, you’re trying to eat in a way that is sustainable for you. You don’t need to be like anybody else. If you like iceberg lettuce, screw the people who say “well that doesn’t have any nutritional value”. It’s fiber and roughage if nothing else! You like a lot of dressing or add ins and people tell you that isn’t a real salad/isn’t a healthy salad? It’s more vegetables than no vegetables! It gets the greens in your body! Do your thing, you don’t deserve guilt (external or internal) for figuring out your own path.
This is about habit forming and breaking bad associations to form better ones.
Think of this as practice! I eat salads nearly daily when available because I genuinely look forward to them now, but I used to want to retch at just the thought of salad. When I used to think of salads, I always thought of being a kid and trying not to gag while forcing sensory hell so that adults wouldn’t get mad at me. It was punishing for me, and it took a lot of gentle work to change that association! So if you hate salads, really try to identify why. Are they bland and tasteless to you? Conversely, are the bitter flavors too strong? Is it a textural thing? Do you have some highly negative experiences with them in the past?
Don’t force yourself to keep trying something you know you hate.
I personally can’t stand a lot of “ultra healthy” salads that have a lot of different textures/flavors mixed in, and years of trying to suffer through salads like that never made me like them more. Back to the first point again, forget about what you’re “supposed” to be eating and eat what you find the least repulsive tbh.
The greens you choose can make a massive difference, so try a lot of different things!
This is especially important if texture or flavor is an issue for you. Personally I find iceberg lettuce the “easiest” because it has a very mild taste. I started out my adventures in learning to eat salad eating EXCLUSIVELY iceberg lettuce. Butter lettuce or romaine (especially romaine hearts) are others that are popular for being pretty palatable, and I’ve come to love them! And you don’t even HAVE to have lettuce! You can have cabbage, beets, carrots, whatever! Pick a vegetable you like and search for salad recipes using it!
Find a dressing you really like and drench that bad boy if you need to!
Some people really like ranch, or poppyseed dressing, or vinaigrettes, or even sweet dressings with honey and fruit! You can use mustard or honey in dressings! Look up different types of salad dressings and try them all out if you want. Personally, I really like zingy dressings like Italian vinaigrettes or blue cheese, but everyone’s different. You can make a lot of dressings at home, too, and if you have the stuff already it can be a cheap way to find what you like. I know dressing freaks some people out, but referencing my very first point again; some salad is way better than no salad. You may even eventually find yourself able to use less and less once you’re more accustomed to eating salad! So use as much as you need, whether it’s just for now or forever.
Toppings! Salads are allowed to be goodies with obstacles!
Use a protein like chicken or fish (I like tuna a lot) or crumbled bacon, use croutons, hummus, little cubes of cheese or shredded cheese, sliced hard boiled eggs, whatever! If there’s vegetables that you know you like, put those in! I love some sliced cucumber or shredded carrots in my salads. Some people do nuts like almonds or cashews in their salads, some people use chickpeas and corn from a can, and if you’re feeling super adventurous you can try some fruit to sweeten things up! If you like variety then mix warm foods and cold foods, creamy textures and crunchy textures! Make it totally your own. Personally, I’ll sometimes eat around my croutons so that once I’ve eaten all of my greens I have a big, crunchy reward. There’s no rules for how you have to eat something!
Conversely, be as simple as you need to be.
If you need to get used to salads by eating just iceberg lettuce and ranch for a while, you don’t need to be embarrassed! You don’t have to throw the kitchen sink at your salad, even if that’s what helps some others! This is about what works for you.
Don’t be afraid to have salad ingredients… not as a salad!
You can make a green smoothie by blending ingredients if texture is your big issue! Or make a fruit smoothie with some spinach or lettuce thrown in to help you ease into it. Or try dicing up some lettuce, cabbage, and a preferred vegetable or two (avocado, bell pepper, tomato, or cucumber would all work!). Drizzle that with a generous amount of dressing or sauce, and you can use it as a chip dip! Tortilla chips work especially well for this. Or maybe make a vegetable wrap in an actual tortilla? Or throw some chopped up vegetables in your next soup. Even if it’s as simple as putting some lettuce, carrots, or tomatoes into a sandwich, that’s awesome too!
Even outside of salads, experiment with texture for vegetables!
You can roast most vegetables on a sheet pan in the oven (or in an air fryer) for a crispy and crunchy experience! Or you can boil or steam them on a stovetop (or in the microwave) to different levels of softness; you can get most vegetables pretty mushy with enough time, if crunchy textures are hard for you! Looking up vegetarian versions of your favorite meat-including dishes can sometimes also offer great ideas for getting different textures out of vegetables! Try everything that you think you might like: grilling, griddling, roasting, steaming, boiling, sautéing, braising, stir frying, and blanching (which also helps reduce bitterness!) are all different methods to look into, and different methods have different results with different vegetables!
Big takeaway…
Be patient and kind with yourself. Working through food aversions is hard. The goal is gently pushing/testing your boundaries and expanding your comfort zone, NOT forcing yourself. Forcing yourself into extreme discomfort, distress, or pain typically only makes aversions worse! So it’s in your best interest to be patient and go as slowly as you need to. Be proud of yourself for trying, and don’t let anyone (including yourself) make you feel shame for doing what you can.
And obligatory disclaimer:
Please don’t get discouraged if none of these tips work for you! This isn’t an exhaustive list, and I’m not any kind of professional. This is just a mix of tips I’ve seen online, and what worked for myself and my own sensory issues, and I’m still learning more about myself all the time! If you’re struggling, there’s still more out there! You can achieve your goals, I believe in you. 💖

Things from recovery that have made my relapse less miserable
✨I AM IN NO WAY PROMOTING 3D OR ENCOURAGING RELAPSE. I AM VERY MUCH PRO RECOVERY AND WOULD NEVER WISH THIS ON ANYONE✨
But considering I'm currently in relapse and it's a mental disorder and I can't stop any of you, let alone myself, remember to take care of yourselves
🍒 Intuitive Eating - This is probably 85% responsible for my relapse because practicing intuitive eating, I ate every time I was hungry BUT I didn't allow myself to overeat either and I didn't keep eating if I felt like I had too much. I just wanted till I got hungry again. This was like some crazy proof that you can have self control and don't have to binge. If you felt like you messed up with one meal, don't just keep wrecking yourself. Choose that moment to reset IMMEDIATELY instead of telling yourself you'll do it later or if you can have 1 more binge. I used to go in cycles of ⭐vation and then binge for a day to a point where I knew I couldn't fill myself up more but kept going anyway. I haven't had what I would consider a full blown binge in almost 5 months because I know I have control (granted I have overeaten a few times but I don't let myself continue to spiral)
🍒Keto Diet - When we were trying to figure out why everything I eat makes me sick, a keto diet was also test trialed to see if I had a carbohydrate intolerance and the take away from this is that guYS FRUIT HAS SO MANY CARBS it's literally natural sugar that gets converted to carbs and you're weight can just pack back on. I'm not saying don't eat fruit, please do!!! But you have GOT to balance it out with protein and veggies. Having a more savory breakfast, if I eat that morning, makes me last through the day longer than something with fruit or just letting all my meals be fruit. If I do eat fruit, it's a small portion snack or like a little apple sauce pouch situation (there are these things I get called Gutzys and they're just fruit and greens purees with probiotics and 1 pouch is less than 100 cals and they're super filling. I also find if I eat them super quick it helps fill me up and feel a little sick so I don't keep eating after having one.)
🍒 Supplements - PLEASE. FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING. TAKE SUPPLEMENTS. I take hair, skin, and nails to maintain biotin levels as well as probiotics because my digestive system is clinically wrecked. And as much as y'all are gonna hate this one, I also drink fiber. It really helps keep things moving and can debloat you too by keeping movement. I've also heard magnesium can help with sleep and bloating but I personally didn't have a difference taking it. Every body reacts differently.
🍒Cycle Syncing - For those of us still on a menstrual cycle, there's something to be said about cycle syncing and remembering that our bodies do go through change every month (ugh). The closer I get to my period, the more bloating I deal with and also find my digestive system is more sensitive. Love Wellness Bye Bye Bloat pills actually really help with the hormonal bloating and I also find this time in my cycle is typically a good excuse for liquid fasting. Bone broths, miso, and diuretic/digestive teas (Dandelion Root/Ginger/Tumeric) are great. Magnesium levels can also drop a lot around this time and make us more susceptible to hunger and cravings, I find that making a low cal hot chocolate using ultra dark cocoa powder is the way to go. It can be slightly bitter to drink but babe get over it, you don't need added sugars. It helps replenish levels, can satisfy chocolate cravings, and the warm drink can help keep the digestive moving and reduce bloating.
🍒Spices - All I'll say, I got back into cooking and please guys. Use spices. Use salt, it has healthy minerals. I know we're not eating a lot but it doesn't have to taste like freaking cardboard. I never count calories in spices because it's slim to none anyways. If I didn't season my food, I'd probably be more wanting to cave and binge because the food is so bland I'm looking for something more tasteful to eat. Season your food, eat what little of it you want, you're satisfied and won't go looking for less boring food.
Remember to take care of yourselves 🩷

Kanto Fusions: Legendaries
Legendary Pokemon. All a sense of world changing presence, All still victims of Pokeballs...and usually in turn, Fusion.
Hold on to your butts, people.
Tumblr media
Kyogre + Lopunny - Ever heard of that "fact certain people know" involving Vaporeon? Well, This fusion of Kyogre's pushes that to the limit. Will drop your ass like a ton of bricks, but it's humilliating that you're turning it on as it blocks a Thunder Punch with one of those red cores and...moans in pleasure. Making shit up is not one of my favorite things to do.
Tumblr media
Smeargle + Rayquaza - Rayquaza. Several Dragon-Type trainer's favorite Legendary. Somabitch was the green light that Fusions could include Legendaries. If you've seen "Living Broken Rainbow" by Mina, then what'd you've seen was indeed a fusion between a Smeargle and the Sky bastard itself. Need I mention this was the 5th of the "Free-Roam" Experiment?
Tumblr media
Ho-Oh + Stantler - Life is but an happy accident. Sometimes it's from learning the Sky High Pokemon having a habit of being about as angry as a Primeape on Protein, sometimes it's from learning that both Lusamine (Post-Ultra Beast incident) and N tried (and failed) to stop Kanto, and sometimes it's one fusion of a legendary resembling another legendary. At least nobody got fooled.
Tumblr media
Delibird + Giratina - Christmas is coming to Shinnoh, everybody's happy, presents are shared...and all of a sudden all of Shinnoh's in a damn panic once they find THIS fusion resting atop of their Pokemon League Tower, shinning brightly like a star. After what'd amounted to 25 entire days of Christmas with Delitina, the fella returned to the Distortion World, leaving a DNA Splicer and one confused Delibird.
Tumblr media
Arceus + Mew - Yes. God - Arceus - had officially chosen to take the piss. Rampantly scaring the hell out of Alola with a entire week of it's presence resembling an Ultra Space Wormhole. We've found out the hard way (Thanks to one very unfortunate Buzzswol that got nuked by Judgement) that yes, even God tends to have fun.
Tumblr media
Articuno + Moltres + Zapdos - Yes. Triple Fusions. While Silph Co was already causing issues with "Miltank Month" (Which most people feared due to udder spam and milk everywhere), Team Rocket had the bold idea that was terrifying in it's concept alone. 3 Pokemon of equal power into one. Unfortunately for Team Rocket, Criminal Organizations attract 10-Year Olds like Vaporeon and Lopunny Fusions used to attract rabid fans. The Birds were thankfully separated.

Model Scar
Just like a scar might form over an injury on your skin, damage to your organs can result in rigid tissue which restricts movement and function. When this happens in the lungs, such as in the major post-COVID complication lung fibrosis, stiffened tissue can stop the lungs working and be fatal. Current methods for investigating this in the lab are limited, so researchers have made a mini-lung model equipped with real-time monitoring of cell mechanics under life-like conditions. An ultra-thin membrane supports the growth of cells (such as the false-coloured purple air sac lining cell pictured on a bed of green matrix proteins). The membrane is compatible with the body’s cells, and is permeable and flexible to mimic lung tissue. The researchers measured cell stiffness as a marker of disease progression or improvement, and can test the impact of any treatments, which will help the development of any new therapies.

大家好! My third attempt at plant-based protein was better - breakfast was yong tau foo and boy was there a wider variety of options. Goodness in this bowl: tofu, fu pi (tofu skin), carrot, brinjal, broccoli and tomato along with thick bee hoon (rice vermicelli). To complete the meal: freshly squeezed unsweetened green apple juice. Full disclosure: the tofu and fu pi had a thin layer of fish paste as a filling; apart from that, this meal comprised of mainly plants - also, why do I feel as though I'm eating like a giraffe when the food tastes so delicious?

I took Pa to a popular vegetarian restaurant when he joined me for a plant-based meal. He chose crispy beancurd skin with sesame rice bento, which came with braised mushrooms and firm tofu and achar (pickled veggies); I had noodles topped with carrot and lettuce and soup which came with tomato, fu pi, konnyaku 'prawns', baby nai bai (similar to baby bak choy), shiitake, enoki and shimeji mushrooms, as well as Napa cabbage. We shared a trio of shiitake, enoki and shimeji mushrooms as well as carrot braised with Angelica herb. Everything was so darned delicious, we agreed to return! Finally, to wash it all down, unsweetened freshly squeezed orange juice.

Back to mammal protein, it's been ages since I had fen si (glass vermicelli), so I ordered some and the stall helper piled a heaping portion onto my plate. Along with my carbohydrates, I had steamed fish, stirfried beansprouts with carrot and stirfried okra. The fen si was so tasty, I finished everything! Washing everything down with refreshing freshly squeezed unsweetened guava juice, I reflected on the recent addition of plant-based protein to my meals. To be frank, I enjoyed the experience and don't mind eating more of it.

I had a unique pork ball along with my stirfried bee hoon (rice vermicelli), bitter gourd and hairy gourd (meals just look more appetising when there's colour). It was handmade with minced pork, but there was also minced onion, carrot and even red chilli in it. I wished I'd ordered 2 instead of 1 because it was so yummy! The stall was generous with veggie portions, so the meal was very filling. To end the meal: hot tea.

Encouraged by the better plant-based protein results this time around, I'll continue searching for dining out options before moving onto how to include more plant-based protein for meals at home. Not only do tofu and tofu products taste good, I felt physically better and had more energy after eating them. They pair amazingly well with soup noodles and a ton of veggies too! I just wish there're better vegetarian options; it's hard to find tofu soup noodles unless I go to a vegan/vegetarian cafe/restaurant or have yong tau foo, OR, I may just need to look harder. 下次见!
