There's just so much potential for platonic !yan Tim Drake that isn't really explored. This post may flop but I like to imagine that yan! Tim Drake is actually the worse out of all his brothers...
Masterlist
Requests: always open
Tumblr media
Look...you and i both know that Tim is canonically unhinged. But Batsis!reader doesn't. It's so easy for you to forget that your brother Tim is so dangerous. I mean he doesn't really seem all that different from any other nerdy 19 year old. His body doesn't loom over you like the more bulky of your brothers, and his presence is rather...calming? I mean there's still a bit of uneasiness there but it's so subtle that you can brush it off
He's normal when he interacts with you. He doesn't bug you to spend time with him or uncomfortably touch you like Dick does. He is sweet and gentle...He knows how you prefer to be engaged with and respects what you don't like.
But, that's what makes him so dangerous. He knows you. Every. Last. Detail. He's gotten so good at being a nasty little fly on the wall that sometimes you forget he's even in the room. He's always around you, observing and collecting data. He's got you wrapped around his fingers and you don't realize it.
But it's not your fault. It's hard to even imagine that someone as mellow as Tim could ever share the same traits as his brothers.
Yan! Tim fully picked up just how intuitive you are and how you can spot red flags easily. He's so calculated and careful with every interaction. It's amazing how natural he makes these conversations flow. Well, they better. He's spent hours analyzing and practicing how to speak to you. His heart is pounding with anticipation, as every shred of information you give him is going right into his files on you.
Oh! The files he has on you? When Jason and Dick asked him about how many he had, he said only 4. Which is true. but those 4 files have much more information and pictures of you than they could comprehend. ...and he wasn't accounting for the hard drives and physical stacks of papers he stole. I believe Tim knows more about you than you do. When was the last time you've seen your medical records? Passports? Birth certificate? Is your ID even in your wallet? Don't worry, your brother Tim is keeping them safe for you.
Yan! Tim is a little stalker who may or may not have put a tracking/listening devices in your bag so he can keep tabs on you. <33 That's why he's always wearing headphones so he cab listen in. A small piece of missed information could cost him so much. Don't be mad, batsis! He cannot risk making you suspicious of him by asking you invasive questions so this is the only way.
I Like to think you automatically sit by him. whether it be during breakfast, watching a movie or in the car. You feel safer with him and it's a better option in your head than being with Dick who will be overbearing. Tim always acts cool, even a little annoyed by you at times but inside he's screaming. Your scent, your small smiles at him and nudge his shoulders when he makes a funny remark all send him into overdrive.
But i must say, it's exhausting for him to hold back his obsession all of the time. Sometimes he envies his siblings and how shameless they are in their obsessions. Tim Drake thinks about how great it would to be to just be hugged by you or for you to want to fall asleep on him like you do with Jason.
Sometimes, our creepy detective will slip up. He will say or do something that is odd to you
"I cannot remember the name of that song i used to listen to...what was it.."
"It's this one by that local band, sis."
"oh, yeah! wait...how did you-"
"I know you better than i know myself..."
"...what?"
*an incident happened where dick basically forced you to say i love you back. Tim was there and he was so so jealous*
"You love me the most though, right?"
You laughed, thinking it was a joke\
"Sure, Tim. You are my favorite Robin."
*Tim is very visibly becoming feral. Almost in the same way as Dick and you are slightly alarmed*
"...I'm your favorite Robin? So you do love me more than them."
"0-o"
He repeats it over and over again in his mind. If he was recording it like he does with many of your interaction, it will be on instant replay every morning as an affirmation.
That one time you were chilling in the study with Tim. His head was ducked, low into the computer. It was super late by this time and you didn't really want to bother him so you ended up leaving without saying anything, and headed to your room. Tim was beyond hurt that you were breaking his version of bonding time and you had the audacity to not even announce your exit. He's so swift that it startled you when he grabbed your wrist from behind. His grip was....strong.... to say the least..... and he questioned why you were leaving him.
speaking of his strength, Tim is so skinny that you forget he is well trained with a nice bit of muscle. Maybe not as strong as his brothers or Bruce but he can easily subdue you.
He's definitely broken a lock or two, to get into your room at the dead of night and watch you sleep. This is the only time when he can be as fucked up as he wants to. The unhinged look in his eyes while going through your things and taking what's interesting..The adrenaline that you might catch him, excites him. He can't help but to sickly smile as he makes his way over to you and observes. A gentle hand caresses the sides of your face. You're so perfect. He whispers on and on things he wishes he could tell you while you were awake and wouldn't think it was weird....
Maybe even once he's crawled into bed with you, wrapping his arms around you. So happy to be able to finally be able to cuddle like this.
And if you happened to wake up, and realize your dear brother, Tim was there...he has a plan for that. He knows how to play mind games on you and makes you seem like the crazy one. No one would believe you anyways. The locks are all fixed by the morning.

The Curse of Sight, Part 7
DCxDP
[Part 6] [Part 7] [Part 8]
[Ao3 Link] (Registered Ao3 users only)
Summary: When Wes Weston meets Tim Drake-Wayne, the dots start connecting. And those dots form a bat.
xxXxx
After a phone call with his mom to confirm that it’s alright for Wes to stay the night, Rebecca leaves with the AV equipment in a Wayne vehicle with a WE driver from HQ. (She also absconds off with a few extra Alfred Pennyworth cookies, but no one calls her out on it.) Wes is then left alone with Tim for a grand tour of Wayne Manor.
The estate is large and sprawling, but Wes is nothing if not observant and adaptive, and he makes quick work of memorizing the layout. He’s careful to make mental notes of places that could potentially hold secret passages.
Part of Batman’s whole thing was that he had a Batcave, right? Surely it’s connected to the Manor. The entrance is most likely on the first floor for easier access if the Cave is underground, which is the most logical conclusion given that the Batcave has to hold a computer with enough processing power to be the legendary Batcomputer, all the Bat-vehicles, plus any trophies Batman has collected in his lucrative career as a vigilante. Also, if it’s as much of a cave as the name implies, it’s got to be underground.
Not that Wes wants to go exploring. This investigation is just so he can mentally note what areas to avoid and always have plausible deniability.
“Oh, no, Mr. Bruce Wayne, sir, I didn’t see you come out of a bookcase secret passageway with bruises that strangely match up with Batman’s. You see, I was over on the bench in the Wayne Gardens, much too far away from the Wayne Library to see any secret nightlife activities. I’m just a simple teenage boy, haha, please don’t steal my kneecaps. Anyway, what did you think of My Immortal? ”
Yes. Foolproof and non-suspicious, two of Wes’s favorite things in Gotham. He even deflects into the Brucie Wayne persona in this imaginary scenario.
God. This is too stressful. Wes knows too many people with alter egos. He needs normal friends—he can’t keep being the normal friend for abnormal people. Maybe he should start going to the community center in his mom’s neighborhood and meet normal teens with normal Gotham interests. (Wes imagines the normal Gotham teen experience to be the universal vaping and smoking, plus minor vandalism and maybe even some pickpocketing in the Diamond District. He’d sidestep any vigilante-chasers or gangsters, naturally. He’s got to avoid the Bats!)
Of the first floor, there are the following rooms: the kitchen, the dining room, the living room, the parlor, the drawing room, Mr. Wayne’s office, the game room, the theater room, the servants’ quarters, the bathrooms, and the garage.
The kitchen likely has too much foot traffic to keep a secret entrance, plus Mr. Pennyworth seems too proper to let Bat-hijinks take place anywhere near his domain. The foot traffic would remain an issue for rooms like the living room, the drawing room, and the parlor. The theater and game rooms may be an option — both had bookshelves to hold board games, video games, DVDs, and VHS tapes, and bookshelves are classic rich people hiding places. The library is another potential place, even if it’s rather stereotypical. But maybe he should expect stereotypes from the same people with a cow named Bat-Cow?
The servants’ quarters, only occupied by Mr. Pennyworth and not included in the tour, would be an unexpected place. It may be too far out of the way, though. The bathrooms could be an option: no one is going to interrogate someone for spending too long in a bathroom. But some people are nosy about what others keep in their bathrooms, and someone as paranoid as Batman would account for that. The garage is likely too much of a security liability given that it’s right there along the driveway for an easy getaway.
That just leaves Bruce Wayne’s office, where it wouldn’t be weird for a CEO to disappear into for hours at a time, nor would it be weird for it to be off-limits for people to be in. Wes was only shown where the room was, not the inside. It’s totally normal to not be brought into your friend’s dad’s office. So normal, in fact, that Wes wouldn’t have even questioned it if he didn’t already know that the Waynes were the Bats.
So, avoid Bruce Wayne’s study. Not a problem for Wes because he has zero reason to go in there in the first place. This sleepover thing will be a piece of cake.
Right now they were in the game room, playing Mario Kart 8 on the Switch. The Waynes were wealthy enough that both Tim and Wes had a pro-controller. (Eat the rich!) Right now, Wes was beating Tim by a decent margin as Luigi, but he’s not sure how much of that is Tim letting him win. He’s only played Mario Kart a few times, and never on the Switch, so he’s not really world champ. It’s nice of Tim to fake being bad, though.
“Damn, you win again,” Tim says, watching Luigi pass the finish line, followed by his avatar, Princess Peach, seconds after.
“‘Cause you’re going easy on me.”
“What? No I’m not.”
“You liar.” One of the best ways to lie is to pretend to be a bad liar. Make a few sacrifices with your integrity and no one will question you when you lie well about something that actually matters. His parents taught him that. “Play better this next round.”
“Are you trash talking me?” Tim is playfully offended.
Wes scoffs, grabbing one of the sofa cushions and setting it against the armrest. He buries himself into it, swinging his legs onto the couch. He’s just barely tall enough to shove his socked feet into Tim’s ribs where he’s sitting. “Am not. I just know that you’re a little tech nerd, and that you can totally kick my ass. No way you haven’t obsessively played Mario Kart.”
“First of all, I resent that.” He shoves Wes’s feet away. His ears are red. Still cooling down from outside? They weren’t so red a little bit ago. “Second of all, fine. Let’s do Rainbow Road.”
“Sweet, a challenge!”
Tim selects the Special Cup, and Wes does semi-decently in the first three courses, though Tim only barely holds onto first. The last course is Rainbow Road, and Wes proceeds to fall off the track every thirty seconds. He crosses the finish line in a very humble tenth place. Tim, impossibly, does worse than he has in previous rounds, ending in fourth place rather than the calculated second to spare Wes’s pride of their previous Cups.
“Hmm. That was humiliating.”
They both turn to look at the doorway, where Damian Wayne lurks, holding Alfred the Cat.
“Don’t be rude, Demon Spawn.” Tim scowls. Wes stretches his feet out to nudge at Tim admonishingly.
“Dude, c’mon. He’s right. That was bad.”
“Weston is correct, Drake. And besides, I was talking about you.”
“Okay, that’s it—” Whatever Tim is about to say is cut off when Wes kicks him, harder than a nudge, but not enough to hurt for longer than a few seconds. “Wes! What the hell?”
He ignores Tim, “Did you want to play, Damian?” He gestures at the TV with his controller.
The boy straightens up, and the movement makes Alfred the Cat wriggle free of his hold. She darts into the room, behind the sectional couch and out of sight. “Don’t be ridiculous. I am merely here to relay Pennyworth’s message that supper will be ready in thirty minutes.”
“Oh, so you’re scared that you will do worse than me?” He raises a challenging eyebrow.
“Tt. I could defeat you and Drake blindfolded.”
“Prove it.”
Wordlessly, Damian marches into the room and swipes the controller from Wes. He laughs, kicking his feet off the couch and getting up to grab a third controller. When he turns back to the couch, Damian is already sitting beside his big brother, his back straight and his face neutral. He turns on the controller and joins them on the couch, leaving enough room for Damian to not feel crowded with a stranger.
The kid reminds him of some of the more minor-league ghosts who like to annoy Danny for attention. Ghosts like fighting, they like arguing. Siblings shared in that trait, usually.
Tim grumbles and switches to three person multiplayer, then asks, “What tracks do you want to play?”
“The same one you and Weston were on. I will defeat you both.”
“Well, definitely me,” Wes says. Damian only sniffs in response.
They speed through character selection, Wes keeping Luigi and Tim keeping Peach, and Damian chooses Shy Guy. After choosing their vehicles (Wes is the only one who chooses a cart instead of a motorcycle), they start the Special Cup.
They quickly discover that Damian is a ruthless competitor. Wes lets out a frustrated groan at the third green shell that hits him, whereas Tim curses at his little brother. “How are you so fucking good? I thought video games were beneath you!”
“Jon has a Switch. He likes Mario Kart and Minecraft.”
“Of fucking course he does.”
Wes wonders who this “Jon” person is. A civilian friend? A fellow superhero? He hates knowing superhero identities, but his mind runs theories anyway.
Damian continues to win against them, and when that gets boring, he purposely keeps a middle-pace so he can collect shells. His aim is unfortunately impeccable. After twenty minutes of losing to his little brother, Tim calls it quits. “Okay, that’s it. We need to wash up for dinner before Alfred gets mad.”
“Scared to continue losing, Drake?”
“Hardly. Go wash your hands, brat. You were holding the cat earlier.”
“She’s cleaner than you,” Damian insults. Then, before Tim can retort, he bounds out of the room.
Tim turns to Wes, “Dude, seriously?”
“What? He obviously wanted to hang out with you.”
“No he didn’t! He’s Damian. He wanted to spy on me and you so he can insult us better later when you aren’t around.”
“Mh-hm.” Wes is doubtful. “I don’t know about that. He acts like how I did when I was in middle school and wanted to hang out with my older cousin.”
“It warms my heart that you’re capable of seeing the good in evil.”
“You don’t mean that, dude.”
Tim smiles, “I guess not.”
After washing up themselves, they head downstairs for the dining room. They are greeted by the savory scent of steak. Wes’s mouth waters. Real rich people food.
Bruce Wayne (Batman!) is already seated at the head of the table, Damian to his right. Tim grabs Wes’s hand and pulls him to sit on the other side, with Tim acting as a buffer between him and Bruce Wayne.
“B, this is Wes Weston, my friend. He works in PR, specifically with our TikTok team.” There is no TikTok team, unless Wes and Rebecca count as a team. What is she supposed to do when he goes back to Amity with his dad at the end of the summer? “Wes, this is Bruce, my adoptive dad.”
Well, only after the whole fake uncle thing, Wes thinks to himself. But he isn’t supposed to know about that. “It’s nice to meet you, sir.”
“Please, call me Bruce when we aren’t at work, Wes.” Bruce Wayne grins that Brucie grin, big and disarming. I’m onto you, Batman. You can’t fool me. “It’s great to see Tim with friends his age. I had a lot of concern after he dropped out of high school, you know, but—”
“Bruce, please. Stop embarrassing me!”
“I’m just expressing my love for my son, Tim.” He turns to Damian, “Don’t follow your other brothers’ examples. Stay in school.”
“Of course, Father,” Damian says while Wes snorts.
The Waynes are really zero to nil on children who have high school diplomas. Dick Grayson ran off (or was run off?) at age sixteen, Jason Todd was declared dead (though Wes suspects that maybe he really did die—is there a way to get Danny and Co. to look into that without spilling identities?), and Tim dropped out and created an uncle after his parents passed so he could become a full-time CEO and vigilante (Wes should sit down with Tim and talk about good coping mechanisms, and also never admit to knowing about the fake uncle or the vigilante activities). Hell, even Bruce Wayne is a medical school dropout!
They still at least had Damian Wayne and Duke Thomas, Wes supposes. Maybe they can be the Wayne kids who finally walk at graduation.
As if on cue, Duke Thomas trudges into the room, clearly tired from daytime patrol as The Signal. Though, Wes is likely supposed to believe that Duke is out doing volunteer work or something of the like.
“Hey, guys. New person.” Duke squints at Wes, then rubs his eyes. A pair of tinted glasses hang on the collar of his yellow shirt. He grabs them and puts them on.
“Hello, Thomas.”
“Hey, Duke.”
“Welcome back, Duke! Have you met Wes yet? Are your headaches acting up again?”
“Nope,” says Duke, taking his seat next to Damian. “Nice to meet you. I’m Duke. And my head’s fine.”
“Nice to meet you, too.”
“Is Dick still here?” Duke asks.
Bruce shakes his head, “He had to leave to make it back to Bludhaven so he’d be able to rest before his shift with the BPD tonight.”
Wes translates that as He’s got Nightwing work tonight. But who knows? Maybe he really does have a night shift.
“Ah, that sucks,” Duke says.
Alfred walks in pushing a cart of the mouth-watering steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, and roasted vegetables and starts to serve everyone.
Wes may have to sleep over more often.
“Thanks, Alfred,” Wes says when his food is plated.
“Of course, Master Wes.”
He wrinkles his nose at that, even though Alfred’s called him that a few times upon coming in for snacks after filming. Being called “master” makes him feel like some kind of egocentric wealthy elitist.
“So, Wes,” Bruce Wayne, literally Batman, starts after everyone has been served. Wes straightens up tp better search for any signs of dinnertime kneecap removal. “You’re Penny’s son and that you intern at WE. How are you liking it so far?”
Normal dinnertime conversation. Excellent. Wes has been to dinners every evening of his life, so he should ace this.
“It’s fun. I mean, I just did coffee runs and stuff at first, but it’s a lot more engaging now that Rebecca is running the TikTok and is using me as her Gen Z brain monkey.”
“She’s not that much older than you.” Tim rolls his eyes.
“The WE TikTok is doing very well,” Bruce compliments as if Tim hadn’t opened his mouth. “We should have started one much sooner.”
“I love the one you’re in. Wes, the one where you talk about the American public school experience,” Duke says, rubbing at his temple. Which is unhelpful because Wes directly made fun of Bruce Wayne in that one. “Sorry about the maybe trauma it inflicted.”
He winces, “I mean, it was fine. We were in a safe room the whole time. It genuinely was like the average American high school experience.” He cuts a concerned look at Bruce. The guy who literally can fire his mom and also rip out his kneecaps if he decides to take offense to something dumb Wes says. He just can’t help it—he’s an Amity Park teenager!
Bruce notices and laughs, “Now, now, none of that! I think it’s great that you raised awareness about school shootings. I’m very aware of my privilege, and I don’t have any hard feelings about it being called out.”
“That’s… good.”
Tim nudges him from under the table with his foot. When Wes looks at him, he’s smiling. Wes’s stomach twists. It’s not an unpleasant feeling.
Damian sniffs, “Well, nothing will compare to the appearances of Bat-Cow, Titus, Alfred the Cat, and Haley.”
“Everyone will love them,” Wes agrees. “People go crazy for animals.”
“They would be wrong not to.”
“Wes, not to be rude, but are you from Gotham?” Duke asks. He squints from behind his tinted glasses. “You don’t have a Gothamite accent.”
“That’s not rude at all.” Wes racks his brain for reasons why the meta vigilante might look constipated whenever he looks at him. Is it an Amity Park thing? The Signal’s power set isn't 100% known—the only things confirmed by witness accounts are light and shadow manipulation. Is the electromagnetic radiation spectrum that Duke can see wider than a baseline human’s, thus allowing him to see more visible light? Can Duke see auras? Can he see ectoplasmic radiation? Can he see that radiation in Wes?
He needs to be careful about what he says. “I’m from Amity Park, Illinois. So is my mom. But she and my dad divorced a few years ago and now I visit Gotham every other holiday and every summer.”
“Oh damn, that sucks, dude.”
“Nah, it’s fine. They were super chill about it.” They had an amicable divorce. Wanted different things. His parents still text semi-regularly, and they will usually steal Wes’s phone for a few minutes when he’s talking to the other. They might still be together if his mom hadn’t wanted to move up in her career and his dad hadn’t been firm on staying in Amity, or if they’d both been okay with long distance.
Still… it would be nice to be a complete family, again. Together and whole. Preferably in an Amity Park not infested with white suits or ectophobic ghost hunters.
Ugh. He really needs to call his dad after work tomorrow. Maybe his cousin, too.
Dinner goes smoothly from there, and after, Tim drags Wes to the movie room to watch Lord of the Ring: Fellowship of the Ring before turning into bed. When the credits roll, he asks, “Are you cool with just staying in my room, or do you wanna stay in the guest room?”
Honestly, what kind of rich people shit is that question? (Ignoring that his mom owns a townhouse in Gotham City and is the director of Wayne Enterprises’s PR Department. He had humble beginnings!)
“Your room is fine,” Wes says.
“You… just wanna share the bed?”
Wes had seen Tim’s bedroom in the tour already. He had a California king sized bed. Sleeping in a bed that size would be just the same as sleeping in separate sleeping bags on the floor in terms of intimacy.
“Yeah, that’s fine, dude.”
Fast forward to them actually in pajamas and actually under blankets and actually turning off their phones for the night, and Wes is learning that it’s actually not fine.
He’s hyper-aware of Tim’s form beneath the blankets, the same blankets Wes is under. And sure, they are on separate ends of the bed, nearly three feet between them, but still.
He’s slept in the same bed as a few friends before, but that had stopped around middle school, when it was suddenly gay for guys to do that. Wes is secure in his sexuality, sure, but he was still in a small Midwestern town at the time, so he hadn’t exactly wanted to do anything to confirm any queerness about him.
Tim, on the other hand, has been publicly bisexual for a while now. And he wasn’t in the room with Wes when he’d gotten his fitting and made his request that his suit reflect his sexuality, so he didn’t know that Wes was any flavor of MLM. (He’d been too insecure about his lanky basketball player frame to let a superhero overhear his measurements.)
Is it weird that Wes knows Tim’s sexuality but Tim doesn’t know his while they share a bed? Is it creepy? Is it wrong? Should Wes say something? Or would it be even creepier to come out while in Tim’s bed? Fuck, is it hot in here?
He kicks a leg out from under the covers, allowing it to be exposed to cool air. It’s completely dark in the room, but he stares at where his foot should be. Should he have worn socks to make it not gay? Is it gay at all? What even is “it” at this point, anyway?
He forces a deep breath. This is probably not weird. It probably would be weird if he did decide to come out while sharing a bed with his friend, who is a queer vigilante and his boss and could have his adoptive father rip out Wes’s spine if he so wished.
Right. So Wes needs to chill the fuck out and think of literally anything else.
His first thought is unfortunately that time he fell off the monkey bars in the first grade and landed on top of Paulina Sanchez, who had cried and hated him until sixth grade for it.
Even worse, his second thought is of his parents’ divorce, and he wants to slap himself. But he can’t do that when there’s a maybe-sleeping-maybe-not body next to him, so instead he takes another deep, quiet breath.
He thinks of Duke Thomas and the way he squinted at Wes. Right, light and shadow manipulation. But to what extent? The way he reacted to Wes might suggest he can see more than a regular human’s visible light spectrum. (More colors, like a shrimp?) If he can see ecto-radiation, then he can see that there’s something off about Wes, who has lived in Amity since the portal’s opening nearly a year ago. The average Amity Parker has a little ecto-contamination in them, but Wes’s may be higher thanks to his stalking of Team Phantom.
So Duke might know that he’s a little irradiated. Not a big deal, Amity’s a small town. There’s no reason to assume that Duke will meet other Amity Parkers and start to ask questions.
But what would happen if the Guys In White decide to outsource help and they decide that someone who can see more forms of light would be beneficial to the cause?
….Fuck. He was supposed to calm himself down, not work himself up.
Wes settles in for a long night.

Day Three of Martim Week 2025 has "Au Day" as an option, so I decided to do A Final Fantasy 14 AU for it!
And if I left it at the first picture It could have staid as the general "This is a fantasy AU. Martin is A paladin of a species called Roegadyn who grew up in a port town called Limsa Lominsa, and Tim is a foreign Viera and a Lancer." Just a fun joke about lancer mechanics from the game and it's all over!!
But than I realized an element of ff14 makes for a *wonderful* backstory for Tim:
So to explain to non ff14 players: There is a magic that lets faithful people summon false versions of their gods, these "gods" have a mind control ability called "Tempering". Until the last expansion there was no cure, and the only thing you could do for the afflicted was to kill them humanely so their souls could be put to rest. BUT, some people have an ability called the Echo that makes them immune to this. Summons are mostly done by Indigenous groups that are desperate to keep their land.
Tim is of a race that is very reclusive, if they want to explore they have to choose to be expelled from their tribe and never return. His brother Danner wanted to be an explorer, and even though he was happy to be a Wood Wailer, he was hardly going to let his baby brother go off to another continent alone. So they both packed up and left to become adventurers.
Unfortunately, on arriving in Limsa Lominsa they ran across a fight that involved one of these summoned gods. Danny became tempered, but Tim discovered he had the echo and was immune. At a time with no cure, Tim had to deal with his brother.
Tim hears about a group called the "Scions of the Seventh Dawn" who recruit people like him to stop summoning and stop things like what happened to his brother from happening to others. He joins quickly, and mostly does well though he has a problem with being more reckless than he should be. Martin helps him a lot.
Things crash when one of the inner circle finds a cure for Tempering, and they start dealing with summoning by making peace, and Tim suddenly realizes that revenge meant a lot more to him then protecting people.
Martin tries to help, but he can't say much. He's a citizen of one of the city states that forced the hands of the tribes into doing summoning, in his mind he's more at fault for what happened to Tim's brother than the Kobold's. There is a hard time where they have to accept that this is for the best for everyone and that it still very much sucks that it happened too late to save Tim's brother.

Sooo I started to read other articles. I didn't after reading the ones that came out right after the episode that justifiably got everyone upset.
This one from tv insider had Tim saying this:
Moving on to Buck and Tommy’s breakup, talk about your approach to it. Why was Tommy sure that Buck would break his heart?
Tommy’s older and Buck is very new to this, and whether Tommy was correct or not, I think what he felt like was exactly what he said: I’m not your last, I’m your first, which is a special thing to be, but as Tommy says, it doesn’t usually end up being the same thing. And I think based on what we know of Buck, he’s maybe not wrong. Buck’s a little impulsive when he’s feeling a certain kind of way. He’s like, move on in, bring your couch. So I just think because Tommy’s a little older and wiser or maybe at some level he feels like he doesn’t deserve Buck, I don’t know. But I think he accurately diagnosed Buck. Buck’s still figuring himself out, and boy, that would be quite risky to move in with that guy as much as you would love to.
That does seem to be Buck’s go-to, which isn’t the best.
Exactly.
Are we going to see Buck single for a significant period of time now? Is he trying to figure out what he wants really out of a relationship?
Yeah, I think that’s right. As Tommy said, you’re still figuring yourself out, and his options have increased by 50 percent of the population. So knowing Buck, that’s going to be choice overload. He’s got to navigate that with a little self-awareness.
--
So they definitely planned for this. That's what this reads like...they wanted to break them up so that they could send Buck through a period of exploration. Tim says everything Oliver said here in much nicer terms. His view of Buck is so...Idk, it's like he sees Buck as a kid that still doesn't know what he wants. And he decided to put that view right into Tommy's head too. It's a little jarring I guess but this show...has it ever been consistent?
What sucks is that 8x05 was written like they were doing so well. And then right off the back with 8x06 we have warning signs in the date scene with the girl that approaches Buck and how Tommy sort of shrugs off Buck checking her out. I really do wonder where hot waiter fit into this and I'm so glad we didn't see Tommy like checking hot waiter out or something. But I guess that scene was there to sow the seeds. We have Buck spiraling because of the Abby thing and we have Tommy maybe not realizing but reinforcing for himself that he's a stepping stone for Buck and being okay with it in the status quo.
The way that Tim speaks about Buck asking Tommy to move in, he makes it seem like Buck is just barreling in without thought...like if they went through with it Tommy might be proven right. But then what is the point of the scene with Josh where Buck is right on the cusp of an "I love you" just to then be like no actually Tommy knows how this ends and he can read Buck and knows they're not forever. But Tommy is not a mind reader.
Where there is hope is in that Tim doesn't outwardly say anything about Tommy being gone for good. As someone else pointed out the Lou interviews were done by buddie journalists with a bias so there is a question to how much that colored what we got and why they were so determined to close the door fully. Also...why did we get exit interviews in the first place for a character that only had three episodes...it's so odd.
The writers made a point of leaving this open. Do I think we'll get Tommy back any time soon. No. But after the doom and gloom and the time to mourn this a bit I want to be positive and there is really no knowing. Tim says he thinks Buck will be single for a while...okay fine...picture that being the rest of this season.
Buck won't just jump into another relationship...and Oliver gets his Buck slut era 2.0...what if S9 brings back Tommy? What if this is the long game...or at least the thing they can have in their back pocket if Lou is available later on to come back. But that's not something they can promise or that they can commit to and Lou isn't on contract clearly and Oliver wouldn't know if that's the plan...hell even Tim probably doesn't know if they'll do that. Or I'm giving him too much credit because as we've seen this season storylines have been rushed to close up at breakneck speeds so it would be an anomaly for him to prolong something like this.
All this to say, showing the network and Tim that bucktommy matters to a lot of people and that Tommy matters...it may just make a difference.

Bruce apologizes to Harley as he fastens her wrists behind her. She barely seems to react, staring into the still-smoldering embers of the warehouse.
"Arkham again?" she croaks, when police officers approach them. Bruce mutters something affirmative, and all of a sudden, he's offering to drive her to the asylum himself.
She slumps in the front passenger seat of the Batmobile, streaked with soot and ash and tear marks cutting clean lines down her face. She looks tired.
"He's gettin' sick of me." She explains, no prompting necessary. Bruce can see the weight on her shoulders. They pull up to Arkham, the gates opening for the Batmobile without question.
"He threw you out a window a year ago. What's different now?" Bruce asks, keeping his voice soft. For a moment, he sees no difference between every tired young woman he meets on the street, beaten down by the world, and the diamond-patterned woman next to him.
"He don't laugh when I get hurt no more." Harley sighs, like it's a great tragedy. It probably is, for her. Bruce tempers down the tiny spark of hope in his chest.
"Maybe explore other options." Bruce offers. Harley snorts in laughter, loud and sudden.
"What other options are there?" She says, voice light and airy, but Bruce can hear the fear in it. What other options are there for Harley Quinn?
Bruce pats her on the back when she's in her cell at Arkham. She curls up dejectedly on the bed, and he mentally schedules a visit to her.
.
"I'm worried about Harley." Tim brings up during breakfast one day. "She's barely tried to escape Arkham at all this week."
Bruce passes Cass the salt, and bumps his visit up. "Hm."
.
"Bats." Harley greets, leant against the wall of her cell, shuffling playing cards. She's allowed to wear makeup, plenty of others do, but she has decided to forgo it. She looks almost naked without dramatic black shapes lining her eyes.
"Harley." He's quiet for a moment. "Any reason you're still in here?" They both know she could leave if she wanted to, she understands the security too well to be truly trapped.
"Where would I go?" She spits, tearing the two of hearts apart. "Joker don't want me, family acts like I'm dead already -" she sighs, all the vitriol draining from her. "Not pretty enough to turn tricks, I reckon."
"There's a bed in the Batcave." And Bruce leaves after five more minutes of stunned silence.
.
Harley is camped out on the cot they use for medicinal purposes. Someone's thrown a soft red blanket over her, and she's definitely using a spare cape folded up as a pillow. She still looks tired, but less so.
"I'm glad she's here." Jason says, as they cut off their motorbikes as quietly as possible. "I'm - I'm not exactly giddy to see her, y'know? I'm just glad she's here."
"Yeah," Bruce agrees. "Me too."

But in a world where everything goes to shit Tim is willing to go back in time and kill a woman to prevent it. I’ve never thought of Tim’s no kill as “as strong as Bruce’s” because literally the only person Bruce has every tried to kill ((in a situation where he didn’t have the safety net of other people around to stop him, people take scenarios where other people stop Bruce as “he would’ve done it if not for them” but imo it’s like Bruce was venting his emotions, if they weren’t there he would’ve stopped himself, then stopping him is like a gift to him bc stopping yourself from going too far when you’re angry is hard)) is darksied. Tim’s moral code is iron or diamond, incredibly strong and principled, but it comes to him as his choice and because he knows it what’s right and it’s what’s been taught. In horrible conditions he could change his mind. Dicks no kill is emotional and I’m not a huge dick fan but I think both he and Tim are better more principled people and have better internal reasons for their no kill code than Bruce, for whom it is a compulsion
The thing about Tim is he is almost as emotionally ready to drain himself for those around him as Bruce is. Tim does have a super strong moral code imo, but I do agree that he is willing to relent it- but only for the greater good. Only in the most dire circumstances. The world has to be going up in flames for him to even consider the possibility of going through with it- and murder is a common theme in Tim's mind only because he's very analytical from what I've seen and is checking all angles, murder would be a useful tool in certain cases and I do think Tim would be willing to do it in extreme cases with no other options, even at the cost of his own mental stability because I do still think while he would go through with it, its mental strain would be too great and he would snap internally.
(Same with Dick, when Dick killed the Joker Bruce brought him back to life solely because he knew it would actually kill Dick on the inside if he ever actually took a life, anyone else and he probs would've left him dead)
Bruce, on the other hand, that's an interesting take i've never seen before- I agree with others on this, Bruce would have gone through with murder multiple times if someone else hadn't stepped in- theres an entire comic dedicated how it took Superman beating him up for Bruce to not go after Joker and kill him after Jason's death, otherwise Bruce probably would've gone through with it. Also, Tim's more earlier Robin comics are brutal, Bruce would have done it a hundred times over imo if he hadn't been there, but at the end of the day these are just my opinions and quite honestly we'll never know for sure because they will never permanently kill off Joker or make any of the bats kill unless they go really dark or smth and... yeah idk I don't think they ever will but I love your opinion on it... maybe I should explore this in some of my other writing... should be an interesting challenge :P
Thanks for the ask! 💗

What do we think about Hen becoming captain of the 118, and the new probie becoming May Grant?
For one thing, it would be great to get some new female focus. May would want to honor Bobby. And everyone, but especially Chim would be extra protective of her when they're on the job!
I went over the captaincy thing in another post, but to sum it up:
Do I want Hen to become Captain? Yes. I think it'd be the best and most logical choice. It's, also, what I personally prefer. I did make a post on how the show could be shaping for Buck being the Captain, and I think a lot of people assumed that's what I wanted, but to reiterate myself: I do not. I want Buck to become Captain eventually (honestly, my personal idea was to have him become Captain in the last ep/epilogue, as I think it would round up the series pretty well), and honestly, I like the idea of him being that of another house and not the 118.
That being said, I did make a point that essentially went over the possibility of the show making Buck Captain instead, and I do maintain this is a possibility. I think that a lot of people are already assuming it'll be Hen, and I am not saying they're wrong, but I think it's too early to assume it'll be her. We're talking about Tim, he doesn't go the most logical thing every time. Whilst I think Hen is the better option, I also think there has been a bit of foreshadowing for Buck, and I can see Tim deciding he's already explored how it would be to have Hen as Captain, so why not explore Buck?
From this, I can also see Buck realising it's too early for him to fully become Captain, and stepping down so Hen can become Captain, as she always should've. This way Tim shows us this is something that will happen in Buck's future, but that he needs to grow up a bit. Idk every time I speak about this I feel like I mess it up lmao. So. Sorry.
As for May becoming a probie, words cannot express just how excited I'd be for that. It would be a great way to keep Athena linked to the firehouse, a great way to mirror Athena and her daughter, and would just bring a lot of really interesting storylines full of delicious angst (which Angela and Corinne would eat). I've also missed Corinne in the show, so I'd be super happy if she became a bigger part of it once more. I think her coming into the 118 would, ultimately, bring so many interesting storylines, so I honestly hope that's where we're headed.

something i think is very imminent in 911 season 8 is a change in the professional dynamic of the 118. we barely got to see them in action this year (and when we did it was often isolated sub groups who were progressing a personal storyline. save for one or two genuine emergencies), and i do think that’s because they realized that since nothing has changed about how the team works the emergencies have gotten a bit repetitive— bobby gives the orders, buck and eddie pull off the rescue, hen and chim save their life. so i was kinda mulling it over and trying to see how this could be solved in a full length season where they can’t get away with the lack of emergencies and will probably need to shake up the 118 dynamic a bit.
the first option is obviously to just split everybody up into different stations. it’s what i’ve been speculating about for a while and i think it’s a genuine option. the only reason i say maybe not is because it kind of defeats the idea of having more emergencies because it would be difficult to show casual rescues if everyone is everywhere, and they’d have to hire quite a few guest actors to play the other firefighters. also because lone star kind of already did this storyline if im not mistaken and i don’t want to just rinse and repeat from them lmao.
so what i think is actually going to happen is that bobby is no longer captain 118. i don’t think he retires and i DEFINITELY don’t think he dies. they’ve dropped the thread that the chief wants to run for…. some sort of office i don’t know what. but that medal ceremony probably looked reallll good on his campaign so i wouldn’t be surprised if he won and needed someone to fill his shoes. they made a point of having bobby call himself “the star captain at the star firehouse” so obviously since season three he’s built up his reputation back quite well in the LAFD and a promotion would probably be very realistic. i could even see them do like station 19 did and have the promoted character use the shows station as a “home base”. i do not care if this is realistic i care that bobby is still here!
this creates a hole in the captain ship at the 118 and while they could do the “navigating a new captain route” i just… wish they wouldn’t. also they NEED to give more of these characters some professional development SO, i think captain hen is incoming. we could finally put a satisfying pin on the end of her journey for more and it would go together nicely with finally finding closure on her family storyline as well.
now with hen as captain we need another EMT and i think eddie finally getting the full paramedic stuff would be so cooll! ryan mentioned that eddie would be exploring all new territory (yes i do think that’s also about gay eddie) and it would be so nice if that was eddie learning some new skills and knowledge. this would also give us a severely severely underused character dynamic in chim and eddie. would love to see them get up to shenanigans.
we’ve now shifted eddie over to the paramedic team so buck is all alone isn’t he… WRONG. ravi main character season 8 is REAL and it’s HAPPENING. he’s literally the perfect choice to pair with buck professionally! now that he’s not a probie (i would presume? timeline might be truly fucked tho so who knows) and he’s definitely seemed to have found his own voice within the 118 i want to have the buck and ravi work dynamic back. see them work together, figure things out, and most importantly let ravi show off that he’s COMPETENT. this also opens us up to have a new recurring character at the firehouse (please be a woman please be a woman please be a woman)
i realize it sounds a little bonkers crazy to split up buck and eddie at work because we’ve done that before and things were honestly miserable to watch. plus tim has said he wants to keep the interactions up as it’s “the core of that coupling” (his words not mine). and i agree! it’s DANGEROUS to split up this professional dynamic that we have grown to love. but i do believe that splitting them in the workplace is how we bring them together romantically.
think of chenford, in order to pursue their romantic storyline first we had to get out of the trainee/TO dynamic. and it was a little scary because that was how we got most of their scenes together! but we didn’t lose the chenford dynamic, we simply moved it into the personal lives part of the show instead of the cop part of the show. that’s what i think will happen with buddie. we move them out of work partners and into (even MORE into i should say) life partners.
anyway the tldr of it is: bobby should get promoted, hen should be captain, eddie should become a paramedic, ravi should be a main character.

I fully agree that it was a lot to have buck hurt eddie like that. Like I get why they did it cause let's be real if eddie had been able to walk it wouldn't have been Tommy at buck's door but I wish they'd go about it in another way...
On another note, do you think buck will analyse his whole relationship with his family and friends with his new found discovery (I still can't believe we have bi buck still feeling shaky omg) and also im sure you've gotten something similar asked but I kinda would like a reassurance well as close to one as I can get, but do you think that means we are headed toward buddie? Or will they be like hey at least you get this kinda thing?
Thank you for your posts they've been great and like I feel we all lived through this together and I'm thankfull for your takes :)
This is actually the first time I thought about them hurting Eddie as a plot device to stop him from reaching out occurred to me. I see it, I don't like it, but I see it.
Okay, yeah, I kinda think he will, finding out you're bisexual as an adult, specially when Buck did as well with women as he does, will be some cause for panic (I say this as someone who was good with men and only found out she was bi as an adult) about particular reactions of people around him (kinda terrified what this means for him with his parents about to come into town) because even if you know some of the people who love you will be supportive, is still a scary experience, even more if you've been trying to find this one thing about yourself for decades, so, yeah, I do believe he will be forced to reevaluate a lot of stuff in his life, and Tim and Oliver seem to be ready to try and tell this story right and I am super interested to see how this will go (I can't believe Bi Buck is real, it literally rewired my brain, I might be losing my mind because I need to sleep because I've been up for who knows how long because every time I try to sleep my brain goes BUCK IS BI and then I start freaking out about again)
I know a lot of you come to me for the logical side of it all to get some reassurance and I love that I can be this person, really, especially in moments like this, so, I love that you came here 🫶. But the buddie of it all, I don't see why they would make Buck queer and not go there with Buck and Eddie. I maintain what I've been saying, that the loft scene is gonna tell us if they are turning up the heat or if we are keeping the energy we had so far while Buck explores his own feelings about being bisexual, even more if we are gonna get 2 for 2 and they are planning on making Eddie demi (god imagine if they actually put a character like Eddie in the ace spectrum, I would die), because then you can use a Buck who's settled into being bisexual to drag the realization from Eddie, because this can cascade into Buck realizing what he's looking for is what he has with Eddie, and since men are an option now, he could look at their relationship and be like "oh so I needed to figure out that I like men, for me to realize that the love I want is with this man" and then trying to figure out if Eddie could feel the same about him, and Eddie having his own queer arc about how no one has felt as right as Shannon because he needs a deeper connection that he does have with Buck and them going there. Buck being bi puts at least halfway there on the road to canon buddie, because now it is an actual canon possibility that Buck will develop, or find out he already has feelings for Eddie. Especially with how intertwined with the discovery with Tommy, Eddie is. Everything that points to Tommy, points to Eddie if Buck just looks to the right, yk? Obviously the showrunners and actors will keep saying there's no plan, and they are seeing where it's going, but if they handle the next episode well, just sit back and enjoy, because they're cooking. They could've made Buck bi be only about Tommy, but they didn't, they made a very intense point of adding Eddie to the mix so I will continue to believe they have a plan and this is a slow burn that's gonna happen, because I honestly, even more now with canon confirmation that Buck is bi, I think it's the only way to look at them, yk? I don't see why they wouldn't go there now that they are not hiding behind the "they are both straight" excuse. And personally, as a writer, I think it would be a waste of a setup not to go there now that we know they can go there.

So I've been rewatching a lot of season 5, and there was this scene in 5x19. It was when Lucy was studying in the morning and Tim had just woken up. There was a brief mentioned of how difficult it's going to be for them to maybe see each other daily in the future because of Tim's metro hours and Lucy's detective hours (if Lucy pass the exam). Which got me thinking.
There has been lots of discussion on Lucy's future as a UC and how it may impact Chenford's relationship in the future, and there's already a lot of fanfics going around that explore lots of those possibilities. There are theories that Lucy may not be a UC for long or at least not a long term ops like what Isabell did, which make sense, but her being a detective and having long hours are actually something both Tim and Lucy seem reluctant to have in the first place. One of the reason Tim initially become a court liaison is because had Lucy transfer to another station, it will be difficult to sync up their shift and they may not see each other everyday.
So this got me spiraling, say Tim and Lucy really want to maintain they see each other everyday or at least as often as possible, how would the story goes? Maybe Grey retires and Tim promoted as Watch Commander? or Tim move to other place aside from Metro but where? or Lucy not become a detective, but then how would her career go next?
really interested to hear your thoughts on this. thanks
I'm not really sure how this particular storyline would go… Here's the thing : as much as they want to see each other as often as possible, they also both want a career. Only, considering their line of work, that means long and unpredictable hours. This is something they're going to have to contend with. And honestly? This is the kind of conundrum most couples go through at some point in their relationship. It's all about finding a balance.
What makes this harder is the fact that they spent years riding together, working side by side all day every day. Going from this to only seeing each other a couple of hours per day was always going to require a period of adaptation. The long hours in Metro or as a detective add another layer. But despite this, they're still supporting the other in their respective career. As Tim said, they'll figure it out.
However, let's say they really want to see each other more often than their current positions allow them to… The ideal solution would be for both of them to take a desk job within the station. That's where they have the best chance to have a regular schedule. But Tim has already done that and the man looked miserable after just one week… That's what started the five-player trade in the first place. They love the action too much : in 5.21, Lucy asked him if he ever wished he had a normal job, one where he didn't get shot at, and he said no. So did she. Which rules out this option.
At the moment, I'd say Metro presents the biggest challenge. So one way to fix it would be for Tim to move somewhere with less demanding hours. Being the Watch Commander could indeed be a possibility since he has the rank - but only if Lucy is out of patrol. He didn't seem to particularly enjoy the job though. And it would be a shame to lose Grey. That still leaves plenty of other positions, like the ones mentioned by Lucy when she was trying to get him a better job : IA, Motor, SWAT, Robbery, Vice… Now Robbery and Vice could present an issue if Lucy makes detective, depending which department recruits her. SWAT would be just as bad as Metro, and I doubt Tim would be interested in working for IA. Motor could be an option. K9 too. They are other departments and positions of course, but I don't really know them. That said, while it wouldn't be as unpredictable as Metro, as a supervisor, he would still have long hours.
Lucy has three main options : stay in patrol (where she could become a TO), try the detective's exam (her current path) or take the sergeant's exam (Tim's path). But again, being a Sergeant is no less demanding than being a Detective : Tim was asked to pick an aide for that very reason and we saw him stay after-shifts as well. Patrol is where it would be ideal in terms of a 'regular' schedule (all things considered) and action. But Lucy hasn't shown any interest in becoming a TO or even staying in patrol. Not to mention that it would be quite close to Nolan's storyline…
In my opinion, the best solution would be for them to move in together. Sure, it doesn't solve the issue of the long hours… But at least, it eliminates time spent commuting from one house to the other.

Danny is pretty sure Bruce Wayne is his soulmate since the ghosts of Martha and Tomas Wayne keep encouraging him to reach out. But Danny had decided years ago he wouldn't seek out his soulmate. But that didn't mean he couldn't observe from a distance.
Bruce was kind. He had a huge heart with so much love for his fellow people. He had so many kids that at first Danny was worried where these children were coming from. He simply could not turn away a child in need. And boy was he proud of his kids. It was encouraging to see and made Danny miss Ellie. She had decided to go explore a new planet so she would be gone for a while. Bruce's oldest remained him of Ellie at times with how free and happy he could be, especially while teaching the kids at his gymnastics gym. So Danny watched the family from a distance, learning about his soulmates family and that was enough.
Until the invasion. When the invasion reached Gotham only hesitated for a second before he heard the screams and transformed. He made his way to Batman first. This was his city after all, best to let him know he was here to help. And of course he was paranoid about an unknown but he let him help. Fighting alongside the bat felt surprisingly natural. It was nice. Than Batman got called off to help the justice leaguers. And he was left with the batkid.
These kids were spectacular! He hated that teens were in this fight, but they all had support and training. Both things he had little to none of when he was a teen. But than unlike him these young heroes weren't just starting out. So he fought and quipped with them as they defended their city. Was his core getting attached? Most definitely. Was he going to let any of them get hurt in this fight? Absolutely not. If that ment he tanked a few shots, well he'd handle a lot worse.
If he noted down to introduce Ellie and Spoiler at a later date, well that was no ones business but his.
As the battle ended he did one last check on all of them before going back to his apartment. He knew Batman would investigate who he is. Probably dig up some thing that were better left buried. But his peace was worth keeping the citizens of Gotham safe. So he patched himself up and waited.
Tim was the fist one to any mention of Phantom. It was on an old abandoned reddit thread debating if dating him would count as necrophilia. And Phantoms wasn't the only name mentioned in realition to the debate. Tim stopped reading when the debate changed from is it necrophilia to ok but is necrophilia that bad if it's ghosts. But the mention of ghosts sent him down a different rabbit hole. Which he was pulled out of by Alfred and promptly sent to bed.
Ghosts. Bruce was looking over what Tim's research had turned up. Phantom was a ghost. Not unheard of to them, but definitely different than what their current understanding of ghosts were. Deadman was very different to Phantom and the others described. He didn't enjoy not knowing, nevermind the fact that this was his soulmate. His pondering was interrupted by Alfred coming back down to make him go to bed as well.
He'll have to message Zantanna later.
Danny was anxious. So far Tucker hasn't had any of his alerts flagged. Meaning either the bats weren't looking, unlikely, or they had found a loophole to slip information from. The later option was the most likely and worrying. Cause while he trusted the bats to a degree, if they didn't know where they were getting information they couldn't direct them to the correct information. Tucker wanted to reach out to Oracle directly, as apparently they had bumped into eachother on the dark web and have formed a time of friendly rivalry. Danny had asked him to hold off on that for a bit longer as he was going to try and approach Red Hood. RH was a revenant and just had lots of angry baby ghost energy that was just adorable to Danny. So yes he was taking the easy way out and talking to the most ghostly of the batfamily. Sue him
Jason was not expecting to see Phantom again anytime soon. Much less a week after the invasion. But here he was bothering him on his patrol. Jason honestly about to radio Tim when Phantom asked him if he still struggled with his anger.
Jason did not misfire his grapple, thank you very much. He simply had a grapple that needed tunned up. The problem was with the gun not him obviously.
So Jason had of course demanded answers from Phantom. And turns out he didn't come back wrong, he just came back as a revenant. And the Lazarus pits just amplified his righteous anger and call for vengeance. Apparently he had flushed most of the lazarus pits effects out of his system naturally. Phantom brought it up because he saw a bit still lingering and was offering to get rid of it for him.
Ofcourse when Danny realized that the young revenant was dealing with some corruption he offered to get rid of it. He didn't expect such a shocked reaction but eh he gets it death is weird sometimes. He was given a phone number and asked to meet back up the next night. He agreed but had to push down a coo as RH pulled himself together trying to look big and scary. Adorable! Danny few home feeling accomplished until Tuck texted asking if he'd found out what the bats knew.
Well shit
Bruce watched dick get up for the bat computer and head out on his motorcycle. Confused on where his son was going as patrol was done and he was staying in the manor while he was in town. Bruce sat down at the computer to see what Dick had been looking at. Dick hadn't tried very hard to hide what he had apparently copied to a separate drive. It was everything they had on Phantom and his type of ghosts. What was his kids getting into? Because if Dick was going somewhere with this information at this time of night it was to help one of his siblings. It wouldn't be Tim as he had his own file. Duke, Damian, and Cass all still lived in the manor so that leaves Jason. Jason his second oldest. The one he had failed over and over. His little Robin that had had magic.
Bruce sighs and rubs his face. If Phantom was targeting Jason it wouldn't matter that they were soulmates his son comes first.
Bruce Wayne’s soulmate died when he was 17.
At the time, it was just another senseless tragedy in the misery that was his life. He was too wrapped up in his grief for his parents and his planning for his mission to really think about what it meant when the words on his wrist drained of color.
Later, he would wonder about the person he had been fated to be with and how they died. Secretly, guiltily, Bruce was relieved that whatever had happened to them had happened before they met. He wasn’t sure he could take another tragedy in his life.
—————
Prompt: Danny is Bruce Wayne’s soulmate. Unfortunately, Danny died when he was 14. Like with all soul marks, his drained of color when its mate died. Danny’s mark is its match, but vibrant and full of life. He’s happy to have finally found him but… how on earth is he going to convince his soulmate that he is who he says he is???

I read your soulmate trope reversal fic (where you either kill or get killed by your soulmate with Alex and Tim) and for worldbuilding reasons, I'd like to know what are (if any) the legal punishmengs?
Long story short: You still go to jail, because a murder is a murder.
Long story long: In this universe, soulmates are created by literally hating too much (to an unhealthy degree explicitily). Soulmates are, like, an aberration, so to say? To have a soulmate in this universe meant that you could not heal yourself, that you could not let it go, that you let it transform your whole life, your whole sense of self, just to hate another.
There's a lot of people whose only job in life is to help mediate this feelings, like, therapists but extreme. They're usually an emergency type of deal, think akin somewhat to suicide lines. In short, in this universe you're supposed to be able to notice what is going on and ask for help. (which, in turn, leads to a whole lot of social problems in the modern day thanks to the expectation this brings onto people).
Each murder case is carefully reviewed and can easily take years to decide if someone is guilty or not. In the modern age where this particular marble hornets fic takes place, extenuating circumstances can lead to a minor sentence, since, i didn't exactly talk a lot about it in the fic, soulmates can be one-sided.
Not all soulmates kill *directly* the other part. Sometimes it can be just as simple as "you focused so much on *this* one person adn trying to take them down that you forgot to look both sides of the street before crossing". So, having a soulmate is not automatically a "this person is a murderer" sign but, a lot of people take it that way.
Usually, if you are too late to prevent a soulmate from happening, you're legally obligated to do as much as possible to remove all possible risks that you end up taking that other's person life. [Of course, it's not a perfect system, because soulmates are, well, an aberration. A poison to your mind, so to say. If you dont kill the other (or if they dont die) you will slowly lose your mind to the obsession of killing that other person. But for society, if someone ends up "crazy" bc they couldnt kill a person and nobody dies? for them its a win, so, uh, ykno, nice things to think about]
Depending on the nature of the homicide, it can be as short as 4 years to involuntary commitment for life [the case of the woman that Tim met in the psychiatric ward as a child].
In Tim's case, thanks to the nature of the Operator making society forget about its victim [a fav headcanon of mine tbh] the crime would never be found and he would get scot-free. Also thanks to the lack of body, and ergo lack of evidence unless someone finds the channel, Tim would never end up in jail, though he would probably end up having to change his name so he could live his life relatively free.
However, if Tim ever ended up getting charged with the crime, he would probably have to do between 4 to 8 years but he would probably have the option to declare extenuating circumstances (with the meds, the stalking, etc etc) so he could get free with parole after a year and a half or two.
Anyways, if Tim ended up in jail, i doubt he would live long tho.
But basically that, lol. I have a lot of thoughts about this particular soulmate universe and the way it works, and when I wrote that fic, I quite liked the idea of exploring how twisting a soulmate could impact someone, plus i am a nerd for worldbuilding

Golden Nugget 64
Tumblr media
NA release: 1st December 1998
JP release: N/A
PAL release: N/A
Developer: Westwood Pacific
Publisher: EA
N64 Magazine Score: 52%
Tumblr media
I was very intrigued to see Westwood when this game booted up. Looking it up, and this is the first game developed by Burst Studios after EA purchased them and rebranded them as “Westwood Pacific” (they would later make Red Alert 2). This is a casino game based on an actual casino, and you can even have a tour of the hotel with a slideshow of a whopping six images.
This is a collection of casino minigames, starting with Blackjack, which N64 magazine says is more known in the UK as pontoon (looking it up, apparently pontoon is very similar but completely unrelated – I knew it as Twenty-One), although that’s definitely changed now. It’s not relevant to the game itself, but I found it interesting. Personally, my favourite version of “draw cards and try to get to 21” is Pazaak.
Tumblr media
You register at the casino and start with $1000 to gamble. Outside the games themselves, there’s nothing to unlock or spend money on. You pick your game and play for as long as you like, or until you run out of money (although you can just re-register to reset to $1000).
You can’t walk though the casino, you just pick a game and it loads an individual table. Random names are given to your opponents. The games work well, but there isn’t much to them, all simple and mostly just choosing things at random.
Tumblr media
The pure luck ones I feel at the worst, just place your chips and watch the roulette or wall wheel spin. There’s no atmosphere or excitement of winning or losing due to the nature of this being a game (and even more so by money not having any use in it). The same with the slot machines – I just personally don’t get why people would enjoy digital versions (although if they can somehow satisfy their addiction with a digital version that doesn’t use microtransactions, then I suppose that’s a good use).
Tumblr media
The best game by far is Texas-Hold-Em. Golden Nugget doesn’t do anything special with it, it’s just an acceptable version. Of course, this one is limited to singleplayer (an option to hide cards and let players tell others to look away and press a button to see them would have been nice), the same applies to the other poker variants – which means the actual competitive games aren’t available in multiplayer, just the ones where you’re all betting individually.
When this came out, the main novelty of the game was that the games took place on 3D tables, which isn’t really needed to enjoy them anyway. They could have perhaps set it apart by having it be a casino you could explore (has that been done yet? The same idea could also be used for seaside Arcade-style minigame collections, where you can join a lobby and move between games while your friends play something else there), but this is just a basic minigame collection of regular casino games.
Golden Nugget… well, you know, it’s fairly good as gambling sims go but, er, it’s a gambling sim so it’s as dull as dishwater. Not even the coin-operated machines can help out.
- Tim Weaver, N64 Magazine #26
Remake or remaster?
There are better collections – Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics has the best games from this and much more variety.

How To Infuse Your Space With Spring Vibes
Tumblr media
With the arrival of spring, it’s time to put away the winter doldrums and liven up your living space. Whether you want to bring in nature-inspired decor, infuse your home with vibrant colors, or create a peaceful outdoor sanctuary, there are countless ways to welcome this season into your surroundings.
So, let's explore several practical tips, creative concepts, and inspiring ideas that can help transform your environment into an inviting and rejuvenating springtime haven. From refreshing indoor spaces to designing serene outdoor getaways with cottage core decor, let’s celebrate the beauty and energy of spring throughout every nook of our homes.
Ideas For Adding Spring Vibes To Your Home
Below are some innovative ideas for bringing the freshness of spring into your home:
1. Embrace Natural Elements
Bring in plants or flowers to add natural elements to your decor. Another idea is using botanical prints, which will give off the fresh and lively vibes of this time of year. Choose houseplants that thrive indoors and match your overall design scheme well.
2. Play With Color
Change up your color palette to reflect the bright colors of spring. Consider using pastels or soft greens, yellows, and pinks for a light, airy feel throughout the space. Bring these hues into throw pillows, area rugs, or wall art for an instant pop that will make you smile every time you walk by.
3. Lighten Up The Room
Remove heavy curtains or replace them with sheer fabrics that allow sunlight to flow easily through and let as much natural light as possible flood into each room. Strategic placement of mirrors can also help bounce light around, making any space feel brighter and larger during this season; try adding one across from a window so it reflects more sun inside during daylight hours. Additionally, installing warm-toned bulbs within new fixtures will also go far toward creating cozy atmospheres after dark.
4. Give Outdoor Spaces A Face Lift
When the weather is warm enough, turn your outdoor area into a personal sanctuary. Add comfortable seating options like chairs or benches with cushions that can withstand the elements, then layer on some brightly colored outdoor rugs for added warmth underfoot when sitting around enjoying meals al fresco. Tall potted plants make it feel more like an oasis, so consider placing them strategically throughout space if possible – just be sure they’re getting enough sun during day hours. String up some twinkling lights along fences or trees for extra ambiance during evenings out here.
5. Work In Seasonal Accents
Get festive with seasonal decor touches that celebrate springtime's arrival. Hang a decorative wreath on your front door to welcome guests and signal that this new phase of nature has begun blooming around us. If Easter falls within these months, don’t forget about eggs! Display them in exciting ways, such as grouping several inside clear glass containers or vases; you could also scatter individual ones across tabletops for added pops of color wherever needed most. Bunnies and butterflies are two other popular symbols associated with rebirth during these times, too, which means there are endless opportunities for incorporating both into different areas throughout the home.
6. Clear The Clutter
Take advantage of the fresh start feeling that comes with spring cleaning by going through each room systematically and removing any items no longer serving their purpose — this is also a great time to donate anything still in good condition but not needed elsewhere (e.g., clothes). Once everything left has been sorted out according to what belongs where based on frequency/usefulness etc. take a step back and assess visually how all looks overall now compared before tackling the clutter pile-up head-on! Streamline decorations to just those key pieces that enhance the overall atmosphere during a given season.
7. Bring In Fresh Scents
Invite people's senses to embrace the current time frame wholeheartedly even further via the utilization of various scents associated with it; fill the living room, kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms alike with floral citrus or herbal fragrances either through the use of scented candles, diffusers, pots, filled with dried mixed petals, peels, etcetera. This will make these areas more inviting and help bring the outdoors inside when the weather doesn’t cooperate. Consider choosing natural and eco-friendly options to ensure healthier indoor air quality throughout the year.
8. Add Textural Interest
If you are looking for an easy yet effective way to breathe life into any space this spring, consider incorporating different textures via fabric choices, such as linen cotton silk curtains and bedding upholstery pieces. Additionally, bringing touches of nature-inspired texture could be achieved by throwing woven baskets, rattan furniture items, and wood accents like picture frames, bookshelves, countertops, and more.
Establish a snug corner or niche as a relaxation station where you can rest and appreciate the peace of spring. Include an easy chair or chaise lounge, soft blankets, and cushiony pillows to make a calm and inviting area for reading, meditating, or relaxing.
10. Make It Yours
Make your spring decor personal by injecting some of yourself into it. Put out beloved pictures, artwork, or souvenirs that bring up happy memories and speak to your interests. Use what resonates with you — books you love, old things you find beautiful, or crafts you've made.
11. Celebrate The Season
Decorate for seasonal holidays to give your space a festive touch. Put out colorful eggs, spring flowers, and bunny-themed accents for Easter. Whether celebrating spring in general or specific events like gatherings or family happenings, use themed decor and make joyful arrangements!
12. Think Green
Think sustainable when decorating this spring! Opt for organic materials in furniture and other decorations; use recycled pieces if possible, too—even better yet, repurpose something altogether different. Try shopping local so that crafters from around town benefit while also being eco-friendly.
13. Be Flexible
Lastly, remain flexible about decisions regarding how things should look during this time of year regarding design elements such as colors used together, etc. Try various arrangements until you find one(s) that is most pleasing visually but also functional, given your lifestyle needs at any given point throughout this transitional period from winter into summer.
Finding the Best Spring Decor
Use these tips to find the best spring decor for your home:
Seek Inspiration: For ideas, look through magazines, websites, social media, and stores in your area that sell home accessories.
Identify Your Style: Determine what type of decorating style you prefer — modern, traditional, minimalist, etc. — and choose items accordingly.
Add A Personal Touch: If the other elements in the room make sense, add touches like photos or souvenirs from vacations; think about adding favorite books to the mix, too!
Choosing Superior Quality Spring Decor
Selecting high-quality décor offers numerous benefits that enhance your overall decorating experience. High-quality decor items are crafted with durable materials, ensuring longevity and resilience against wear and tear. They often feature exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to your space. Superior-quality decor provides better functionality and performance, serving its intended purpose effectively.
They also contribute to a more luxurious, polished aesthetic and elevate your home's look and feel. Investing in superior quality spring decor ensures that your decorations withstand the test of time, maintain their beauty, and enhance the ambiance of your space for years to come. By incorporating these tips and ideas into your spring decor, you can create a vibrant, rejuvenating, and welcoming atmosphere that reflects the spirit of this season! Let us embrace its beauty together by refreshing our living environments—cheers!!!

Everyone thank @harvestandhearth for this ^^
Heads up, i’m going with intersex danny as ectoplasm exposure and presumed afab until he was able to clarify which gender he was (toddler) and chose his own name as Danny for this. Tim is still a nicu baby, and the two were presumed fraternal twins until a lot later.
And possible trigger warning, while not in Danny’s POV talking about what vlad did with the clones does trigger an episode to a degree, but this is all third POV with it being others’ observing Danny trying to ground himself after a stressor triggered something.
And as a personal headcannon, since Danny can turn parts of himself intangible, a nervous stim for him when he cant remove himself and go where he feels safe is to pull at his arteries or nerves—never managing it but passing through them as a target is soothing as its a tiny challenge, repetitive, and doesn’t hurt him but he can feel it happening so it helps ground himself after a trigger.
Timothy Jackson Drake nee Fenton pt2
Cyborg had two options with the news Red Robin and Phantom were twins: update the League files and let the paranoid bastards monitoring them find out that way, or telling them.
He did have a front row seat to the Dick and Kori’s disaster era many of them blame Dick for.
He updates Phantom and Red Robin’s files, links them as “twins raised apart geographically, and very attached emotionally” and let the cards fall where they may.
If Dick wanted to bring drama to the titans way back when, he can discover batfam drama on bis own time and away from Cyborg this time.
Tim was getting ready for patrol after his Call with Jazz and Dani. Danny crashed his pre-patrol routine to looking over possible redesigns from ghost fashionistas on a call.
The hooded cloak concept is popular and growing on Tim.
Apparently giving him a dragon as his callsign was also popular.
He was liking some of redesigns as different birds. Rook’s and Cardinal having a functional glider built in. Someone with the call mabychan didnt go too far off his current look, and it was possible to add the flight functions. The aesthetic addition of gold or yellow onto the suit proper rather than just his gear was interesting enough to explore later.
Danny continued to advocate for Tim playing with ecto-infused tech to be less trackable and was ignoring the very fact ecto signatures are very trackable and are transferable to people.
He was debating the winged cape-hood combo when his work phone kept going off.
“So, cutting this early again?”
“They can wait. Now, do you think maby could mix the hood and wing cape into her design? Like, my hair is wrong but it’s not far off from what i was going for, i think these two,” Tim grabbed his favorite Rook and Cardinal designs and lifted them to show Danny, “are a good reference for how i want the glider part to work.”
“I’ll contact her and see what she says,” Danny raised an eyebrow as his work phone began to flash red as it kept going off. “You gonna answer that or…”
“They’ll live, i’m not on the clock yet, and they interrupted my cases so many times this week with these stupid team building exercises. Like, hoe, i have a life outside of my two jobs, shut the fuck up and let me live!”
“You sure they aren’t a johnny-skulker hybrid?”
“Positive. They don’t hunt me for my pelt. Most of the time—Hood and mini Robin might if they have a mental break again.”
“Why have i not kidnapped you home sooner?”
“You respect my boundaries and are eviler for doing so.”
“Clearly, my evil-self solo-ed the Justice League and affiliates.”
“I’m still certain if i was alive, i would have beat evil you’s ass.”
“Dipshit, i would not have gone evil i would be a shaky chihuahua following your ass everywhere if any of my idiots didnt die in that accident.”
“Fair. So, i get Val, Anita, bart, Kon will try but he may run late with chores at the Kent’s, Cassie is coming, and against the odds you get to face an olympic archer too!”
“Oh my god, you guys could stand a chance if Dad’s aim doesn’t obliterate your points. How did you get Cissie to agree?”
“I told her Greta’s on your team and reminded her they were still tied for who was winning a bet way back when. Then called her a dick for deserting us in our time of need.”
“At least i don’t have to worry Slobo.”
“He’s on kiddo duty while we play.”
“So strategic sabotage.”
“You know me so well.”
“Evil, evil bastard brother!”
“Don’t talk about our mom like that.”
“I was talking about Aunt Janet.”
“Never mind, carry on.”
“Nah, but your phone is annoying me so—“ Danny shifted and Phantom burst out of his screen. “Ancients that sucked!”
Tim rolled his eyes as Danny bemoaned his latest fire walls.
“Use real fire ants next time, Ancients Damnit!”
“No.”
Danny snagged his phone as he reloaded his smoke pellets. “Now what does—holy shit. Did you not tell them you’re co-workers?”
“It was obvious—why do they think I turned down the family dinner invites unless Steph was there? I need bestie backup to handle their shit off hours.”
“Oh my god, you didn’t. They think you’re a Bat when you’re a fucking Fenton. Holy shit!”
“I never hid it,” Tim defended, “They’re detectives, they dan detect.”
Danny began wheezing, curled around the phone and cackling.
“…did B send anything yet?”
Danny shakily passed the phone. Tim ignored the group chat and looked to his private one with Bruce and Alfred.
“Cave. Now.”
“I was unaware of your living relatives Master Timothy. Do invite them over, we have much to discuss. From, Alfred Pennyworth”
Tim groaned, moving to put the last of gear in place.
“I was invited by your co-parent, I’m coming.”
“Chaos gremlin.” He waved Danny to follow him into the elevator, away from his (relatively) civilian quarters.
“You say that like you aren’t one too.”
“I hide it better, when it matters,” Tim shrugged. “Blame Aunt Janet’s social chameleon lessons.”
“Deceiver of all,” Danny narrated with the utmost dramatics as they exited the elevator. “be evil with your whole chest or be the Good Twin!”
“Fuck that. Now get your ass in gear, you’re riding Bitch.”
“Hey, if guys at school are going to keep calling me Fentonia, I believe I can say you gotta stop calling it that. Clearly I’m the tagalong and a snack.”
“Nope,” Tim readied Red Bird. “You smell like a bitch and look like shit. Why Val likes you, the world may never know.”
“Fuck you. And we share a face!” Danny got on behind him, ignoring the offered helmet.
“I wear it better and dont have baby fat. Safety first lab accident.”
“You look like that brainless dipshit from Oz, but boned,” Danny snapped as he put on the helmet and waiting for Tim to go.
“At least when I crossdress, it’s not a question of which gender I’m presenting as,” Tim grumbled as they sped out.
“Eat a cock, you know they thought i was a girl for a year.”
“I mean—“ Tim took a sharp turn out of the garage and merged into Gotham’s traffic .
“Abort, no sex stories from my twin this early—.”
“It’s 9 at night mostly ghostly.”
“—And did you forget i ate your fraternal twin in the womb and we became identical in a case of severe Gray’s Anatomy BS?”
“Look, the Nicu was A Lot, and with how much medical mystery shit our family has going on, can you blame me?”
“Yep. Medical mystery, magical mystery, family curse and Fenton Luck must be kept
Separate big brother, or are you getting sennial in your old age?”
“Fuck off.”
“And once again, your 9 pm is my 4 am. I’m a witching hour girlie, Reddicus Robininous.” Danny snarked as they sped outside of Gotham City proper into the Rich Bitch greenery and woods.
“I blame Pix,” Tim groaned.
“Beanie taught me that!”
“But Pix taught you to say it.”
“She did, she did.”
The ride to the Cave was quiet, Danny frowning at the lack of stars.
“Leave it.”
“But i can probably pull it out of the atmosphere.”
“And put it where?”
“… my chest?”
“Nope, no self experimentation without scientist supervision.”
“Don’t you count?”
“I am a detective, combatant, chemist and hacker. I am not a scientist.”
“Sounds fake.”
“You’re fake.”
“I’m ghostly, and a member of the cloned kids club.”
“You ate my twin in the womb.”
“So i get to be evil!”
“No. I’m evil; I’m a ceo and help a lot of coverups as a vigilante for other vigilantes and a handful of anti-heroes.”
“Evil me took out your not-son and his friends!” Danny argued.
“Please, three separate evil me’s managed that, and came back to gloat.”
“Well, those three ceased to exist or evil last i checked. My evil me’s in therapy and still murdery.”
“I know—how’s Dan doing and are we going with older brother cover or cousin like Dani?”
“His call, and he’s… unpacking still.”
“Eh-hem,” Alfred interrupted as Tim parked Red Bird. “I believe we need to have a family meeting are your other family members joining, excusing this Dan?”
“No, they don’t know this is happening,” Tim answered.
“That,” Danny looked around at the… trophy wing(?) of the cave. “Aannnd Jazz would enjoy psychoanalyzing you all too much. So, is this a ‘check all the info for verification cautionary tale’ or something else?” He asked as he turned his attention back to the bat-butler. Batler(?)
“Something else, Master Daniel.”
“Just Danny. I chose it, I get to keep it in all contexts.”
Alfred moved to open his mouth.
“Only one to not call him that made him an unwilling teen parent,” Tim interjected before Alfred could start up on formalities.
Alfred narrowed his eyes. “Has this individual been taken care of?”
Tim and Danny shared a look. “Working on it,” Tim answered, rubbing the inside of Danny wrist before he could start tugging his arteries or nerves as a stress stim.
Alfred looked between them. “Anything else i should be aware of Master Danny?”
“Just keep toast away from me, and I’m not a solid foods person—can do solid food in shake form just uh, jaw tends to freeze and lock at random since my powers came in.”
Alfred hummed in response to that. “Soft solids are acceptable, yes?”
Danny slowly nodded his head, and moved his hand to the thermos on his hip.
Tim squarely kept Danny on the side he could better block the cameras from as they followed Alfred up.
“I made a batch of chocolate salted caramel chip oatmeal cookies. I will bring you a more drinkable version of the batter with a strawberry smoothie on the side. Master Tim, your usual will be beside your serving.”
Tim grunted in response, checking his phone and keeping a steady hand on his twin’s pulse. Which was far too fast for Danny’s normal… trying to appease Tim’s co-workers by masking the liminality, or stress response to casually outing himself or to Tim dropping the Vlad forced cloning thing (Tim’s helped him with so, so many nightmares of watching his clones die. The fact one was identical to Rim didn’t help. Tim being present and alive did).
Danny smiled at him. Mask smile—so hiding Phantom’s impact or ignoring the trauma trigger he pulled. Yep, Tim is winning the evil twin contest for the wrong reasons again.
Alfred turned to see Tim analyzing his twin, who was more flushed in his face than before… he’d have to inform the Wayne clan to gentle their interrogation regarding Master Danny’s existence. Master Tim’s explanation helped explain the name situation, however it could have been done without triggering the poor boy. Had Master Tim given him a moment, he would have found the explanation unnecessary.
The twins stalled at the threshold of the meeting room.
Tim waved at Stephanie, Cass and Barbra sitting in the same general area together as he moved further in front of Danny and switched which hand was grounding him and monitoring his pulse. Stephanie was gleeful to say the least, Cass unfazed and Barbra giving him a too knowing wave back.
Dick was sitting between Damian and Bruce, the three dissecting every move Tim and Danny made. Tim made sure to shield him as much as he could from the imminent psychological warfare Bruce was planning. Damian would likely aim for any potential insecurity once he got too aggravated with everything, and was likely to say something that could set off Danny. He only really went through his firewalls instead of waiting for Tim to let him in when he was having a particularly nasty day and needed some twin time.
Tim couldn’t fathom what Dick’s plan was. The one he saw as his found older brother would laugh at him managing to fool everyone one on a loophole and tell him how to further the ruse. But the one who took up the cowl was different from the brother that mentored him and helped with everything from girls, leading a team and homework.
Duke and Jason were to the side. Jason looked morbidly amused while Duke seemed curious, so no worries on that end for Danny. Operation: ‘air out Batcorp’s laundry if they start shit’ was a go.
Okay next round i will want an idea of how you want batfam members to respond to the fact Tim ‘hid’ his family from them—as that’s how these chuckleheads are entering this meeting.
Tim’s got receipts and Danny is there mostly to divide Tim’s attention and watch the show.
Tim Drake’s Coworkers (ft. The Fenton Family)
It’s not that Tim doesn’t like the Batfamily. He tolerates them just fine. Damian is great for sparring (if you like sparring with a tiny murder machine), and Jason’s brand of dark humor isn’t too bad once you get used to it. Dick’s a bit too much sometimes, but overall? Fine. Totally fine.
But the thing is… they’re just his coworkers.
And it never really clicks for the Bats until Danny Phantom joins the Justice League and everything starts unraveling.
———
The revelation comes during a League meeting. They’re strategizing about some ghost-related chaos, and Danny floats into the Watchtower, bright and glowing.
“Oh, hey, Tim,” Danny greets casually, giving him a little wave.
Tim doesn’t even look up from his tablet. “Sup.”
Superman looks between them, confused. “…you two know each other?”
Danny grins. “yeah, he’s my brother.”
Dead silence.
“WHAT?!” Bruce’s bellow shakes the entire room.
Tim finally looks up, unfazed. “What? Did you think I just spawned into existence?”
“You have a brother?!” Clark sputters.
“Two siblings, actually,” Tim corrects, utterly nonchalant. “Danny’s the younger one. Jazz is the older one. She’s great. Super organized. Kept me alive in middle school.”
Bruce’s eye twitches. “Why—why am I only learning this now?”
Tim shrugs. “It didn’t seem relevant.”
“Relevant?” Diana repeats, incredulous. “You’re the brother of Danny Phantom and it’s not relevant?”
Danny, who’s been munching on some ectoplasm candy, jumps in: “Honestly, Tim’s always been kind of private about his personal life. We just figured it was his way of coping with the whole ‘raised-by-rich-neglectful-aunt’ thing.”
“Yeah, about that,” Tim interjects, glaring at Danny. “Thanks so much for dumping me with Aunt Janet, by the way.”
Danny shrugs sheepishly. “Mom and Dad panicked! They thought you’d get ghost-napped next!”
“Uh, correction: Aunt Janet left me to raise myself, so that plan was awesome.”
Bruce, trying to keep up, interrupts: “Hold on. Your parents left you with Janet Drake?”
“They didn’t know she sucked at raising kids,” Tim deadpans. “And to be fair, they did call. A lot. I just didn’t pick up.”
Jason, who has been cackling this entire time, leans forward. “Wait, wait, wait—so you’re telling me that the Replacement’s entire family is a bunch of ghost hunters?”
“Yup.” Danny pops the “p” with a grin.
“You’re kidding me,” Steph says, borderline hysterical.
Tim sighs, clearly over it. “Look, it’s not a big deal. Jazz keeps the parents in check, Danny handles the ghost stuff, and I… stay out of the way. It’s fine.”
“FINE?” Damian glares. “Drake, you’ve been fraternizing with ghost hunters while working with a vigilante group, and you think that’s fine?”
Tim raises an eyebrow. “Dami, chill. It’s not like it affects work. You’re my coworkers. They’re my family. Separate categories.”
Cue collective Batfamily malfunction.
———
Later, Danny is chilling in the Batcave, feet kicked up on the Batcomputer, chatting with Alfred. The rest of the Bats are still spiraling.
“Tim, we’ve lived together for years!” Dick exclaims, sounding genuinely hurt. “How are we only your coworkers?”
“You’re not my family,” Tim explains, like it’s the most obvious thing in the world. “Danny and Jazz are my family. You guys are my teammates. It’s different.”
Jason throws his head back, laughing. “Oh my god, Replacement, you’re stone cold.”
“I’m not cold,” Tim argues. “I just don’t think we need to make it more complicated than it is. We work together. That’s enough.”
Meanwhile, Danny is wiping tears of laughter off his face. “Oh man. Jazz is gonna love this.”

I’ve been kind of brain dead for ideas lately but an old one that I was batting around the other day was, following Jack Drake’s death everyone was scrambling to figure out what to do with Tim. Bruce wanted to adopt him, Dana was going to take him when she was well enough, Dick probably threw his hat into the ring to give the kid options.
Now Tim has this grand scheme to circumvent all this by hiring an actor to portray a made-up uncle but he looks out at the city one night and is Tired. This city stole his peace, bits of his flesh, his friends and now his dad. Suddenly he doesn’t want to live there anymore. He makes a phone call and a few days later, he’s on a bus to Smallville to be fostered by Martha Kent.
Kon was a little surprised at the call but Martha didn’t hesitate to sign those papers. She’d seen the fallout of Tim when his mother died, if no one else would take care of Tim then she would. He arrives with a backpack full of clothes and a U-Haul of computer equipment which he sets up in the back guest room barely leaving room for a bed.
He goes to Smallville High with Conner, eats an early, homemade dinner by Ma who kisses his forehead before he Zetas back to Gotham for patrol. He’s still Robin, still fights and bleeds for Gotham. But he can’t live there, not right now. Bruce is doing his pouty hurt dad routine, Dick thinks he’s trying to make a move on Kon but really Tim is tired of the brutality of the city and wants some peace for once in his life. He Zetas back early in the morning, quietly knocks on Ma’s door so she knows he’s back and heads to bed.
His allergies give him hell in the country but he still insists on helping Kon with chores. Conner laughs at how badly he fumbles through livestock feeding and crop tending and starts working on ways to make it more efficient. He sleeps through class and spars out in the open fields and, when he’s feeling homesick, Kon will fly him real high and drop him and he can pretend like he’s just dived off a skyscraper. Martha reminds him to eat, to sleep, to wash behind his ears and stop looking at gruesome crime scene photos at the dinner table. Tim’s never had a happy, normal family situation. It unnerves him but it soothes him too as he works, really works, on some of his more self-destructive habits. For Ma’s sake. Martha knows this is only temporary, that Tim can’t, won’t, stay away from Gotham forever. But she drapes a blanket over his shoulder where he’s fallen asleep 5 minutes into a movie on the couch and brushes his hair out of his sleep deprived eyes. She loves Bruce like a second son but Tim is her baby now too and she’ll tear B to shreds if he doesn’t properly care for Tim when he returns.
Kon and Tim, who’d been kind of dancing around their feelings for years, are now in an equally strange dynamic of ‘are we brothers now? are you just a bud crashing indefinitely at my house? we come and go from Titans Tower together what does everyone THINK is happening???’ and settle for just doing nothing. They do stay up late on nights Tim isn’t in Gotham talking about bad tv shows and how lame school is and rocket ships and the latest supervillain scandal. As weird as the situation is, Tim looks happier and healthier than he has in ages. Plus it’s kinda rad to have a sleepover with your best friend every night. As far as he is concerned, Tim never has to step foot in Gotham again.
Clark comes back to the farm from a long space mission to find Batman’s latest sidekick typing up a storm typing on a computer with one hand and stirring soup with the other. “Sup,” Tim mumbles as he remains focused on both his tasks. “Sorry, guest room is mine now. I’d offer it up but it’s a pretty tight fit in there with all my gear.” And that’s how he found out his Mom may or may not have legally kidnapped Batman’s sorta maybe I guess not kid from under his nose and he’s Clark’s unofficial little brother. All he knows is Bruce is going to be a nightmare at the next League meeting.
