great question i'd love to tell you my thoughts

willow and aurora's mom, aka bedtime kisses au (reader is a journalist in this au pre-kids) - i can view her being kind of hesitant. carmen is her baby boy, she's not sure any woman will be good enough for him. you and him met while you were a journalist, and she just doesn't think that's a suitable career. "the news is so messy." she'd comment as you sit down for dinner with her. once you and carmen get married have willow, i think she warms up a little. she'd criticize your timing of having your daughter, naturally, but she sees how much you care for her son. regardless she still doesn't accept you?? it's like a passive aggressive thing in my mind

richie's younger sister, aka "i dont have a name for this au" - okay, i've said this before, donna does not like the fact that you (richie's younger sister) and carmen (her son) are dating. mikey and richie were close, and she thinks you're obsessed with her family for dating her dead son's brother. "you can't be serious.." is the literal thing she says when carmen makes mention of you and him dating. he wants you two to meet, but he always warns you: it won't end well. so you and him attend few events together (he'll still go to family dinners and bring you along, and she behaves *up until certain parts of the evening depending on varying factors like alcohol, conversation, the guest list, etc* for the most part) but you don't go to certain family gatherings with him. i imagine donna likes to do something for mikey's birthday and you stay away from that. you comfort carm and richie, of course, but you stay away from that.

adoptive mom!reader, aka my sadie bug au - i think this is one where donna does like you. carmy taking in mikey's daughter was a huge topic in the family for a long time (with few family members supporting it because they don't think carm's a good enough caretaker to take sadie in), but as soon as you come along? they love you. she tells you she appreciates you treating her grandchild with such care, and thanks you for bringing a smile to her son's face. "mikey would just love you." she tells you often, and you thank her everytime. "you raised wonderful children, mrs. berzatto, i'm just happy that sadie and carmy are happy."

i was actually shuffling books around last weekend to make space for what i'll read this year (i'm in a temporary living situation, so most of my library is in storage), and i decided to leave LEECH unboxed so i can reread it this fall. i'm obsessed with the POV and the voice and i'm VERY looking forward to a tear-it-apart reread now that i know some of what is going on. what a neat book!!

This is the working title for my most recent PWP oneshot that is also unrelated to the actual president's merc AU. This "PWP" is at 4400 words and has started to develop some themes (and angst lmao) and I really just want them to fuck, is that too much to ask? Apparently it is. 🤷 I might have shared part of this before but I think it's been a minute, and it's been edited some.

Something pulls V down to Rosalind— the fingers clutching her wrist; the magnetism from the look on her face; the gravity of the desire that’s been building all day as she watched this incredible woman defy her every preconception. Their lips crash together and she raises her free hand to Rosalind’s shoulder, stroking her thumb along her collarbone. Rosalind leans into her, the fingers on her wrist releasing their grip to slide up to her bicep.

V pulls away breathless, an apology for the breach in protocol ready on her lips, but Rosalind takes it from her by gripping the back of her neck and pulling her down again, fingers threading her hair and tongue teasing at her mouth. She yields willingly. Her free hand moves to Rosalind’s hip, and her thumb traces the line between silk and silky skin while her fingers rest on the safety of denim. Rosalind shows no such restraint and her other hand slips under V’s open jacket, and her nails trail along the sensitive skin of her ribs bared by her short tank top. V shudders and exhales shakily as she pulls away from the kiss.

“This okay?” V asks, not because she isn’t certain— Rosalind’s actions leave no room for doubt that this desire is mutual— but because she needs a moment for her head to stop spinning. 

After-gig hookups aren’t anything new to her, and she's ruined more than her share of working relationships because of them, but this situation holds more gravity than usual and she's wary of making a wrong move. Pissing off the team's driver is one thing but the president of the NUSA is a whole ’nother league of trouble.

Eyes dark and breath rapid, Rosalind’s lips twist into a mischievous smirk as she says, “Yes, V. This is okay.”

“Do not sound so surprised,” rose tinted cheeks, a splash of bloodrush upon his soft skin. The wine must be getting to him and yet… And yet you wonder if it’s something more, a rush of excitement at praise. He’d never wanted this - the crown, the throne, you - until push came to shove and he felt the sweet weight of the Conqueror’s legacy rest upon his head and the grip of Blackfyre in his fist. Whether driven by ego for a legacy or a genuine wish to do well by the people of his realm, Aegon has taken on his duties with a grace no one, not even his own blood, had expected of him. A mess made in times of war, he spears ahead to clean up what rubble and ashes remain of the land. “I’m sure you’re wondering what prompted my invite to sup here, alone.”

“You are my husband, I am your wife. Who else would I share my meals with?”

“I am sure there are names ahead of mine on that list,” the smile he flashes is jaded. “Sometimes I worry you wish to forget our marriage.”
