Operation: Give That Clone More Fics!

🩵 Howzer edition 🩵

After a quick tie-breaker poll, Captain Baja Blast has been voted as the character in need of more fics! For anyone interested, here are some ways you can contribute to helping build up Howzer's fic library:

Write a new fic! Short or long; reader insert or 3rd person; fluff or smut; AU or canon compliant... No rules, just show Howzer some love with however many words you feel like

Write a continuation of an old fic! Already wrote something for Howzer in the past? Dig it up and add an extra something to it... a new chapter, a prequel scene, a rewrite from another POV, etc

Write him into a current story! For those who like a little challenge, take a current WIP and see if you can find a way to include Howzer in the next part (even if it's only an alternate scene)

Help out a writer! If you're not a writer yourself, or don't have the time/capacity/interest to work on this initiative, send some prompts or ideas to a writer friend instead

Whatever you write, tag with #MoreHowzerFics and/or @ me... In addition to writing a fic of my own, I'll compile a list of any new Howzer fics for interested readers to reference.

Perhaps we begin writing Bridgerton AU Fanfiction.

Things we’ve forgotten as writers . . . ✍️

i.) everyone has their own writing style. some people focus more on feeling, and some focus more on what’s occurring. that doesn’t make them a bad writer, because some reader is gonna read it and finally feel like they’ve found their author.

ii.) you can be a writer of many things. you can specialize in a specific genre or you can master multiple types of writing, whether it be academic or simply personal.

iii.) sometimes, you need a little inspiration to create something. when cogwheels get rusty, don’t they need a little oil to get them moving?

iv.) you don’t have to be some word wiz or english prodigy to be a writer. tbr, half the best writers learned english second.

v.) DO NOT BE ASHAMED OF YOUR RITUALS/REASONS FOR WRITING. sometimes, the best teacher is experience. I’m not saying cheat on your partner or beat someone up or make a snuff tape, but I am saying find resources. find a survivor, find someone who experienced the thing you’re trying to portray, take notes! we may not always agree with what we hear, but it can improve your writing.

vi.) stop judging your drafts.

that’s why.

vii.) fanfiction is writing. it’s a real form of writing. you’re not lesser than any writer, you’re still loved.

viii.) your writing doesn’t have to be realistic if that’s not what you’re going for. writing is a form of art, and everyone has a different art style. some people enjoy a euphoric sense of writing, some people would be nothing without a splash of comedy, and who would they be without their dramatic twist at the end?!

ix.) your community is waiting for you, baby. they’re waiting for your masterpiece to add to the holy grail.

x.) writer’s block is real. it’s not fake. you’re not lazy. stop calling yourself that. to make your best, you must be and feel your best. A piece of work is only as good as its creator. if you’re not well, then your work will be sickly.

this post will likely be getting updated as we go, because the negativity and stigma that I see surrounding the writer’s community based on different “pRoBlEmS” is so sickeningly upsetting. like dude, do better. anyways, I hope you enjoyed this post and please feel free to leave a note and reblog :3

Writing - Encouragement!

Writing is hard. It's difficult. A skill not many will master and not many can. It is an art, but it is not an art of the eyes, it is an art of the mind. Words on a paper that create an image in your mind not in your eyes.

Writing is difficult and you, lucky you, can do it.

You think your work is Bad? At least you are trying. Some wouldn't make it even that far. You think it's not good enough? There's no line you can cross where it will ever be good enough, so draw that line yourself and let me tell you that it is good enough.

If you keep working, keep writing, keep hoping, keep dreaming, you will reach. Because every dream and every word brings you one step closer to the stars. And no matter how long that ladder to success may be, no ladder can truly be infinite.

A Masterpiece is not some hidden standard you must reach. A Masterpiece is what you make it. The Masterpiece is you.

Go on, climb that ladder. It's not moving. It will always be waiting for you, and no matter what or who you are, it will stay firmly rooted in the ground as long as your belief in yourself.

You can't keep climbing forever, take some time to rest every now and again. You've earned it no matter how far you've gone, one step or one million.

I've found Tumblr blogs on writing physically disabled and POC characters, but nothing specifically for neurodivergence.

Maybe there is something I just haven't found yet, but even if so, I think the most resources the better.

So, hi! I'm Amethyst — amateur writer and neurodivergent, and now looking for people to help me out with this project.

I could try this on my own, but I would rather have other neurodivergents with me (especially with different conditions from mine)

Does anyone want to help me make a change?
