Iâve been using friendship bracelet braiding methods to make fancy trims and borders for future larp projecs (because getting nice looking ones that fit my aesthetic is mucho hard)
and so I got curious about where friendship bracelets come from
and now Iâm confused
because the practice of friendship bracelets is apparebtly appropriated from central american indigenous practices but the knot methods and just decorative knots in general can be seen all through out history, most notably china and arabic countries but also slav and norse cultures.
And now Iâm not quite sure if what Iâm doing can be seen as cultural appropriation or not because Iâm using these methods to supplement for decorative trims that I donât have the recources for to make in a historically appropriate way. The knotbinding itself doesnât really seem to be traceable to one specific culture as far as I can tell from the like 8 articles Iâve read, just the bracelet giving thing and thatâs what the knots are most associated with, so idk if it would be okay for me to use the methods still or not.
Itâs generally a fun and easy to learn craft, it keeps my fingies occupied so my brain can focus and I but if this is a nother thing that has been forcefully taken from a nother culture then Iâm not sure if I want to continue using these methods :/

I saw someone talk about how they broke out of the âantizionistâ echo chamber so hereâs my story about it!
Cracks started when the college encampments did. Even that deep in I still felt very uncomfortable with, yk, hoards of Ivy League students (and professors!!) chasing Jews out of schools. Even that deep in my brain still recognized Heh, What The Fuck (surprise, propaganda does not deprive a person of moral integrity or responsibility!). I ended up logging off tumblr and the other online spaces I was in. One could call it a detox. Touching grass. Best decision of my life. When I came back, I found @/rootsmetals on Instagram. She is amazing. For people you donât know her: she talks about Jewish history and current events and boy does she bring receipts. After her, I started looking at a ton of other Jewish influencers (that feels like a weird title but idk what else to call it), and MAN I am so happy I did. Moral clarity and consistency is amazing. Now Iâm going into anthropology, and I really want to study in Israel- beautiful place and people, and god DAMN is Jewish history impressive.
Trying to use the arguments/methods that worked on me- I also hope I can do that to teach gentiles actual Israeli history cuz there is a DIRE shortage of facts about Israel in⌠basically everyone. For example: people have a hard time grasping the idea that calling Jews Nazis is antisemitic, so hereâs the explanation Iâve found works the best; Nazism without Jew-hatred is not Nazism. There are plenty of other words for what is left over, but NOT Nazism. Holocaust education has been horrifyingly whitewashed to make it as little about Jews as possible and to make people feel less guilty, and now weâre in a society that Holocaust survivors say is way too similar to the 1930s. Jews cannot be Nazis because Nazis are inherently violent antisemites.

They try so hard to fight the Middle East into their fucking Democrat/republican oppressed/oppressor bullshit. I try to be civil to the ones who arenât horrible and put cracks in their mindset, but⌠Jesus Christ. Most of them are stupid on purpose. I have never met people so willfully ignorant. See: the apartheid claims. All their examples are about people who⌠arenât in Israel?? Thatâs like saying Mexico is an apartheid to Americans. Theyâre DIFFERENT COUNTRIES???
Also: their actions have consequences. Besides the GIGANTIC rise in antisemitic hate crimes (which really should be the prime example, but the worldâs decided they donât care too many times)⌠most of the shit theyâre saying HURTS the people theyâre âtryingâ to defend. âJews arenât indigenous cuz they were in whereverâ so indigeneity stops when you get murdered and kicked out of your land? Is that what youâre saying? Whenâs the cut off, two massacres or three massacres? They sound like âoh well the Cherokee have been here for millennia but MY family has been here for four whole generations, after my great-grandpa killed a bunch of themâ. They claim theyâre âanticolonial anti-imperialistsâ and then help what is arguably the most successful colonial empire (I mean hello, the audacity and confidence you have to have to call yourself indigenous to a place named for the people youâre killing when the place you ARE from is still named after you??? Arabia anyone??). And theyâre not only hurting Jewish rights, but the rights of all the other indigenous peoples of MENA- Amazigh, Druze, Samaritans, etc. They just use whatever words they want. âGenocideâ isnât a fun trivia word, itâs a fucking LEGAL WORD. ALSO they like to say âevery accusation is a confessionâ and itâs just⌠thatâs projecting bro. Thereâs so many examples, but I think the best is: âJewish independence is a racist genocidal movementâ and they say that cuz theirâs IS. They do know that theyâre supporting a genocide that the âPalestinian causeâ has been trying to do for decades, they will just only admit it when theyâre trying to frame Jews for it.
ALSO ALSO⌠the fucking racism of low expectations. âWhat did you expect them to do?â about Oct 7. Idk, maybe NOT mass rape people??? Iâve literally heard people say that itâs âtheir traditionââŚ. WHAT? How is it not racist as fuck to sum up someoneâs âcultureâ as murder-rape-violence? If I keep going I wonât stop but⌠listen to the podcast Jew Wanna Talkâs episode Queers for Palestine: Beyond Chickens for KFC. They explain it better than I can.

Getting Comfortable in the State of Preparation
Why Shifters Often Get Stuck Here

Have you ever caught yourself spending hours making scripts, mood boards, and playlists for your Desired Reality (DR) but rarely (or never) actually attempting to shift? Youâre not aloneâthis is super common in the shifting community or so I noticed after one of my posts. Many shifters fall into a pattern of preparation, where the process of getting ready feels more comfortable than the act of shifting itself.
Why Shifters Get Stuck in Preparation
1. Preparation Feels Safe
Making scripts and mood boards gives you a sense of control and progress. Itâs exciting and comforting because it connects you to your DR without the frustration or fear of a failed attempt.
2. Perfectionism
Feeling like you need the perfect script, playlist, or method before you shift. This turns into an endless cycle of preparation because you never feel âready enough.â
3. Dopamine Rush
Planning triggers a dopamine releaseâthe thrill of imagining your DR can be addictive! It gives you a taste of your DR without actually shifting, so itâs easy to keep doing it.
4. Community Validation
Sharing your playlists, scripts, or mood boards in the shifting community can feel nice. Itâs a way to bond with others, but it can also make the focus shift (pun intended!) from actual shifting to just the idea of shifting.
5. Procrastination as a Defense Mechanics
Procrastination is often rooted in fear. For some shifters, itâs easier to stay in the âpreparationâ phase.
6. Overwhelm
With so much information out there about shifting methods and scripting, itâs easy to feel overwhelmed. Instead of figuring out where to start, many shifters default to preparing because it feels more manageable.
How to Break Out of the Preparation Loop
If you find yourself stuck in this cycle, here are some tips that may help you refocus on actual shifting:
1. Shift the Focus to Actual Attempts
Remember that prep work is meant to support your shifting journey, not replace it. Set clear intentions for when you'll shift and stick to them.
2. Limit Prep Time
Give yourself a specific time frame for scripting or making mood boards (e.g., one day to make your script/ 1 hour a day for week). Then spend the rest of your time focusing on shifting.
(make sure to not be overwhelmed if you set a specific time that you are not comfortable with)
3. Visualize Instead of Overplanning
Focus on feeling like youâre in your DR. You donât need every detail scripted; your subconscious can fill in the blanks.
(for people who feel like they can't trust their subconscious: your subconscious is YOU, it knows what you want. Your subconscious is never going against you; it always working with your desires you only need to allow to give it to you)
4. Try a âPrep Detoxâ
Take a break from all the prep work and focus solely on shifting for a few days. You might find it easier to connect with your DR this way. You'll see how easier shifting will become when you focus your energy on actually doing it rather then on finishing your script or making a new Pinterest board (no shade)
5. Reframe the Habit
See scripting and playlists as stepping stones, not the destination. Keep reminding yourself: the real reward is your DR, not the finished script.
6. Consistency Over Perfection
You donât need to feel perfectly prepared to shift. Trust that you yourself is enough.
Getting stuck in the preparation stage doesnât mean youâre not capable of shifting. Itâs just a habit, and like any habit, it can be shifted (pun intended again)! Remember, your DR is waiting for youâitâs time to shift! :)

He was starving and tired. He needed a good shower and a good night of sleep, but he hadn't been able to sleep well since you left. okay so I know you're on a Dandadan kick but if you're ever thinking about the Warhammer AU: do the batboys ever get home? if so do any of the mutations stick around?
If there is one thing you can be sure of in my AU's, is that they ALL have happy endings. (I'm a big baby like that)
So yes, the boys do manage to get back home and now that they are away from the influence of the Chaos gods and the Warp, their bodies slowly revert back to normal. However, they is a slight problem.
-Tim still retains his ability to sense and control magical items. He is unaffected by curses and if hit by magic, he absorbs the attack instead. But the longer he is around magic or using it, he will start to mutate again, usually by growing his feathers and claws back.
-If Jason gets sick, poisoned or severely injured he will change in response, wounds growing jagged teeth with his skin taking on a sickly green hue. The upside is that he's really durable and is now impossible to kill with normal methods.
-Dick keeps his allure and ability to tempt others into doing what he wants. If he does this too often, he will revert just like Tim and Jason, and grow his tail and horns back.
-Damian's got super strength, and the madder he gets, the stronger her becomes. Downside is that he will lose control of himself and his human form and start attacking everyone with his teeth, claws and horns.
Basically if the boys indulge in any of these behaviors for an extended period of time, the will turn back into their monsters forms. This can still be reversed, as long as they detox and stop their bad habits, they will revert back to their human selves.

Clean your space: dedicate a day or days to completely clean your apartment/ room. After that, treat yourself, light a candle order some food, or take a long hot spa like shower. You will feel so much better in a clean space. Clean decluttered environment!

One powerful way to achieve this is through the practice of meditation and prayer. to quiet the mind, find inner peace, and connect with our own spiritual essence. Both prayer and meditation are powerful practices that can bring numerous benefits to our lives. They provide us with a sense of belonging and purpose, reminding us of what really important.
