Which Type of Stub End is Suitable for High-Pressure Applications?
In excessive-stress piping structures, selecting the ideal fittings is essential to make certain efficiency, protection, and toughness. Among the vital fittings are stub ends, which play a pivotal function in connecting pipes and facilitating fluid float. Stub ends are available different sorts, each designed for precise packages and running conditions. In this blog publish, we will delve into the various varieties of stub ends and discuss which of them are suitable for high-stress packages.
Concentric Reducer:
Concentric reducers are a sort of stub end generally used to connect pipes of different sizes in a straight line. They function a conical shape, with one end large in diameter than the alternative, taking into account a easy transition of fluid flow. Concentric reducers are suitable for packages in which maintaining the centerline of the pipe is vital, including in pipelines sporting liquids or gases at high pressures.
Eccentric Reducer:
Eccentric reducers, alternatively, are just like concentric reducers however characteristic an offset centerline. This layout permits for the slow discount of pipe size whilst simultaneously diverting fluid far from the centerline. Eccentric reducers are best for applications where averting air or vapor accumulation is critical, making them suitable for excessive-strain structures working beneath stressful conditions.
Stub End Type A:
Stub end Type A is one of the most usually used forms of stub results in excessive-strain packages. It capabilities a flat face and a quick period, making it best for welding at once to the pipe or flange. Stub end Type A is desired in situations wherein area constraints or alignment troubles are present, supplying a compact and green answer for joining pipes in excessive-stress environments.
Stub End Type B:
Stub end Type B differs from Type A in that it has a barely longer duration and a raised face. This layout lets in for higher alignment and sealing when connecting pipes or flanges in excessive-stress systems. Stub end Type B is appropriate for programs wherein a steady and leak-free connection is paramount, imparting greater reliability and overall performance under excessive strain situations.
Stub End Type C:
Stub end Type C is characterised with the aid of its complete lap joint and serrated face, which enhance grip and save you slippage throughout meeting. This type of stub end is usually utilized in high-stress piping structures in which vibration or movement is anticipated, because the serrated face allows preserve a decent seal underneath dynamic conditions. Stub end Type C gives exceptional resistance to loosening and leakage, making it a dependable choice for critical programs requiring utmost safety and sturdiness.
Cross:
In addition to concentric reducers and eccentric reducers and distinct kinds of stub ends, crosses are some other form of fitting typically used in excessive-pressure piping systems. Crosses feature 4 connection points organized in a perpendicular configuration, bearing in mind the branching of pipes in multiple directions. Crosses are essential for developing complex pipe layouts and dispensing fluid flow efficiently in high-stress packages.
When it comes to deciding on the proper stub end for excessive-strain packages, numerous elements must be considered, which include operating situations, machine requirements, and compatibility with different components. Concentric and kooky reducers, together with diverse styles of stub ends together with Type A, Type B, and Type C, offer wonderful advantages depending on the unique wishes of the application.
In conclusion, selecting the perfect stub end is essential for making sure the integrity and overall performance of high-strain piping systems. Whether it is maintaining alignment, preventing leakage, or withstanding dynamic conditions, choosing the right sort of stub end is vital for reliable and efficient operation. I love that Tendou spends the entirety of Kabuto in love with Kagami. I love that it takes Kagami like 40 episodes to figure it out because he's a dog person trying to understand a cat. I love that Tendou seems so cold because he's so self-centred and blunt at times while overly vague and closed-off at others, but his love is all-encompassing and unconditional. I love that Kagami is the typical bumbling main rider in the role of the secondary, that Tendou is his rival but not vice-versa, because Tendou is still the true main rider who openly likes his ill-tempered secondary from the start, though he shows it in a way that no one who doesn't know Tendou would be able to understand. I love that when Kagami finally figures it out, he realises it's been love the whole time, and that there's no grand gesture needed. I love that he knows Tendou at that point. I love that he understands what Tendou wants to hear, and it's not bold proclamations or heroic speeches, but something that seems blunt and presumptuous in the way Tendou himself is. Cook something for me (continue to love me) (I want to be loved by you)

I bought some foot brace things to stretch my joints out and do some opposite pressure on the inexorable process of developing horrible bunions (you can't win this one, human feet just can't take the pressure, but you can stave it off for a long time) and I'm looking at these gross blue nylon and Velcro shits that are like physically spreading my toes using little miniaturized bondage straps etc and getting mad that it's now impossible to buy any modern medical assistive device that isn't profoundly desexed. they definitely do this on purpose, if you need a wrap or a brace or a sling etc it's going to look like a piece of really ugly sports equipment or a child's Velcro shoe. god forbid you want your cane to look dapper or formal. god forbid you want a """"waist trainer"""" that doesn't look like a sausage casing (just get a corset seriously). or a sling that isn't scratchy shitty nylon. I could write a big post about the distancing of disability from aesthetics and the insistence that all imperfect function is temporary and therefore investiture in beautiful medical items is eccentric. you can get nice looking canes if you really look but certainly not in a hospital or medical supply store, your insurance won't pay for a chestnut piece with a brass handle. the bunion straps that could be so interesting in leather or even canvas are reduced to fuzzy rustling clown shoes. extremely annoying. and infantilizing frankly. and just ugly

Love me, love me, love me, love me more!

Pairing: Yandere! Gojo Satoru x Fem!Reader
Warnings and Content: MDNI (I'll haunt you, seriously), yandere themes, dubious consent, stalking, obsession, murder, gore, sex, delusional satoru, he's unhinged and does not care about consequences as usual, creampies (lots), gojo has a breeding kink, masturbation, perv gojo, sex, fingering. Dead dove.
Plot : Megumi has a new nanny and Satoru is so so..lovesick.
Tumblr media
Yandere!Satoru knew he fumbled the moment he fell in love with Megumi's nanny. He had hired you because he couldn't provide for the time and sufficient emotional care that a second grader needed to be a normal person. After all that the boy went through and then being under care of someone like him, Satoru didn't think that his Gumi-chan would ever be normal.
But then he met you, you were everything he was not. Gojo Satoru was impulsive, eccentric, the strongest, he shone so brightly that the sun was put to shame. And you were so normal, so mundane, you simply seemed to blend in with everyone like a lovely, plain chrysanthemum that could mix in with every bouquet.
there was truly nothing special about you in comparison to him.
Perhaps that was why he found you so beautiful. You weren't complicated, you were too simple and perhaps this absence of simplicity was what made his fast paced, glorious life so lack luster.
He knew he had to have you.
One thing you realised about Yandere!Satoru is that, he is a child in a grown man's body. You had seen him being much more petulant than Megumi, but with time your surmises around him had reduced and your edges had softened. You would see the flash of tiredness in his eyes sometimes, something about those azures in those moments would tell you a piece of his story. You didn't ask a lot but you knew. He was tired.
Being a full-time nanny to Megumi also meant, keeping meal preps ready. It had become a habit to put together a few extras after noticing that Gojo would often make it a point to eat them. He probably ate it, dead in the night when he was back from his daily missions. No one witnessed his joy of eating a homecooked meal at 3AM.
Yandere!Satoru who would take the advantage of your softened demeanor towards him and flirt with you shamelessly even after seeing the ring adorned on your pretty little finger. He kept affirming to himself that it wasn't real and whatever he would imagine, would materialize to be true.
"You do a terrific job, looking after Megumi you know?" He'd muse, in the usual teasing tone of his as his hand trails to your chin, gently tipping your head up so you'd look into his eyes and his eyes only, his gaze intense and unwavering.
"I can't help but wonder if there is room in your heart for me too~"
But then his playful demeanor would drop away when his eyes would fall onto that pathetic, miserly looking gold band after you'd tell him to stop flirting with you with finality in your tone. That ring wasn't even high in carats, it was an alloy and yet you would it wear it such pride. It would tug at his heartstrings, his darling deserved so much better.
"I see, didn't realize that, miss.." He lied through his teeth with such insouciance and a smirk, masking his disappointment as if even a petite speck on your arm would be amiss with his six eyes
Yandere!Satoru, who was never religious but started obsessively manifesting you after learning about your husband. What a hassle. Why couldn't he just have you, like everything else in his life?
Yandere!Satoru who would think of you riding him to tears, closing his eyes to conjure the lewd image of your tits bouncing as he fucked you upward, anchoring his large hands on your waist. All while zestfully fisting his cock, wrapped like a gift with your cute pink panties that he quite subtly stole when you were staying over to care for Megumi for a few days because he had to fly somewhere else to tackle off a special grade curse, substituted for the warmth of your velvety walls. For now.
Yandere!Satoru who knew you had no clue that he teleported from the location far away just to steal your panties.
Yandere!Satoru who also knew that you had no idea that he had tapped in your phone, having his hawking watch over who you texted and talked to.
Yandere!Satoru who couldn't be nonchalant anymore the minute he saw you texting your husband as you watched over Megumi, on how badly you wanted a baby after being a nanny to the young boy. That was his job, you were his, afterall.
Yandere!Satoru who felt angry and stupid because manifesting you didn't work. He knew he could never trust the higher powers with the people he loved so he took the matter in his own hands.
Yandere!Satoru who stood over your husband's dead body, ripped to shreds when you returned home. The worries of your husband not texting you back for hours now washed with horror and pain.
His handsome, angelic face was unnervingly calm and composed, his blue eyes amalgamated with mania and hollowness while he held her husband's filthy heart in his bloodied hands, a scowl of disgust washing over his face as he looked at the organ, darting his eyes at you almost pitifully, crushing it in a glimpse before walking to you.
"What a shame..your husband was quite bothersome, wouldn't you say? I had to take out the trash, y'know..got sick of him getting in the way" He'd speak in a smooth, saccharinely affectionate tone that you knew was empty. He ignored the shock laced on your face, the paleness of your skin, the fear in your eyes and your flinch which he found oh so..adorable, as he caressed your cheek with the strong metallic scent of crimson lingering.
"Let's play a game!" He brightly smiled, clapping his hands together which made you furrow your brows, a dry gulp going down your throat. The room only filled with the momentary sounds of his footsteps and your shaky, palpable breathing.
"The game is...name things you love about Gojo Satoru!!" He chimed, so happily that it sent a shiver down your spine, insinuating nausea.
"S-stay away..."
He frowned, titling his head as his empty eyes bored into yours.
"Wrong answer darling..the answer is Satoru, isn't it..?" He leaned in, cupping your face and tenderly kissing your lips.
Yandere!Satoru who teleported you two immediately to his estate as he pulled away from the kiss, your back hitting the silk sheets that screamed luxury.
Yandere!Satoru who would see you giving in to his gentle kisses all over your body, who'd feel your pulsating guilt and shame in your eyes while your pussy pulsated with pleasure having his fingers in your gushing cunt knuckles deep.
"Why did you say no to me, hm..? You're milking my fingers baby..fuuuck...I love you so much.." He whispered while his face nuzzled into your cheek. His hot breath mingled with phrases of love felt so gross, so filthy, so sinful but you saw yourself liking it, even after seeing your husband in such a state.
Yandere!Satoru, who'd dump his cum again in your oozing pussy even when his cock felt raw after kissing your cervix so many times, painting it white. Now finally pulling out with a squelch, he immediately replaced his two thick fingers to push his load back in.
"You're gonna be such a pretty mama baby..I will make your wish come true.."

Can I make a request for a s/o that likes to go in for the BIG hug! the type that lifts them off the ground. for Shenhe/Clorinde/Dehya/Arlecchino
(Genshin Impact) Shenhe, Clorinde, Dehya, Arlecchino's S/O hugging them
Tumblr media
Shenhe is mildly surprised that S/O could even lift her off the ground, but she sort of rolls with it.
Because seeing that smile was absolutely worth it to her, and the feeling of having their arms around her so tight made her heart feel warm.
Though her ropes suppressed most of the emotions she felt from their hug, she returns their embrace. (albeit much more gently in fear of snapping them in half like a toothpick)
(Shenhe) "It's good to see you too, S/O. That hug felt nice."
Shenhe says in a rather monotone voice, but by how tightly she was holding them back, S/O knew she meant every word.
Tumblr media
Clorinde is caught off guard and her body goes stiff as her feet leave the ground.
Her eyes are wide and heartbeat starting to go rampant, yet she remains perfectly still once S/O is finished.
Awkwardly coughing into her hand, Clorinde lets a small smile form once she regains her bearings.
(Clorinde) "Ah...I see you've missed me."
While it didn't feel unpleasant, she would at least prefer a heads up from S/O before they picked her up again.
No matter how many times S/O does it, Clorinde never entirely gets used to their lavish hugs.
Tumblr media
Dehya just laughs at S/O picking her up, more impressed than anything.
But Dehya quickly returns the favor by giving an embrace just as tight and swinging S/O around effortlessly in a twirl.
If S/O wasn't afraid to be so affectionate, than neither would she! At least, as long as she didn't think too hard about it, lest she be reduced to a blushing mess.
(Dehya) "We're finally back! Sorry to keep you waiting, S/O!"
Dehya absolutely does not mind their eccentric hugs, always more than willing to do the same to S/O.
Tumblr media
Arlecchino doesn't allow herself to be picked up, instead she places a firm hand on S/O's shoulder.
A very firm hand, to the point S/O can't even lift that arm up as she stoically replies:
(Arlecchino) "No need to lift me up, S/O. I am already within arm's reach."
Arlecchino didn't mind some acts of affection, but she does have her limits, her feet involuntarily being yoinked from the floor is one of them.
Though she appreciates (at least, S/O thinks she does) the gesture of affection.

Hello!!
I adore your work, you’ve taught me so much! I was wondering if you could do a post about Uranus in the 10th house? ♡
Hello love, thanks for loving what I do. I'm glad you can learn with my posts. 🤍
Uranus in the 10th house
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They may have a reputation for being eccentric, original or unconventional. There will be something enigmatic about them that will catch people's attention, mysterious, charming but above all, authentic. There is something fascinating about the way they act and behave that can easily captivate and cause curiosity in others. There is an inclination towards revolutionary aspirations and goals, as many of them want to make a significant difference in the world and often seek to change the status quo in their field of work. People with this position may be attracted to technology, science, engineering, or any field related to advancement and innovation. Likewise, there is the possibility of working on the internet or in positions related to it. The social sciences may catch your attention too. Their interests are so diverse that they can either be indecisive about what area to pursue, lead them to work in many different fields or work in something other than what they studied. What is a fact is that they will always seek independence, even if they have to work with others, the possibility of making their own decisions is something necessary for them. They will not be afraid to confront someone who is unfair, especially if it is a tyrannical boss. They perceive the position of boss as someone who doesn’t just boss around, but is part of the team. Someone who makes improvements not only in results but in the environment of those they work with, a mindset that makes them excellent and unique bosses.
These natives aspire to achieve great things through their work, and it is very likely that many of them work in areas that none of their family members have worked in or in jobs that are unconventional in the eyes of other people. These natives do not pay attention to destructive criticism from other people, "tell me when I ask and maybe I will care more" kind of attitude. One of the goals of these natives is to be as authentic as possible, they hate labels and things that reduce them to being just one thing since that limits them in expressing who they are. They are multifaceted, witty and give the impression of being very self-confident. They tend to choose jobs that allow them to be their own boss, and some of them are likely to have difficulty with very demanding and stressful schedules and environments. Many of these people tend to look for jobs that allow them to express their individuality and creativity, they can gain experience from many different jobs, and if Uranus makes a tense aspect with Mars or Saturn, it is very likely that these natives will change jobs more than once throughout their lives. With Uranus in this house, it allows the native to achieve great things in their work, from a feeling of satisfaction in their lives, many economic gains or even power in some way.
Unlike some placements, this one shows a native does not have aspirations to find empowerment in excessive economic gains or control over others, rather they see success as being able to work on something that they are truly passionate about and that means something to them. It should be noted that despite that, they are not delusional or very unrealistic, as they know and recognize the importance of having a work that makes them profit. They are very rational people, but that mix of their carefree and open-minded personality can charm others very easily. These natives can have a lot of influence on other people without intending to, people see them as admirable people for one or more reasons, but above all, they reach others through their natural sympathy. They are very idealistic and future-oriented people from a young age, and although they like to think big, they can often put a lot of expectations on themselves, and in turn, not see their small achievements by focusing on achieving the big ones.

XHILO ✧ XOLA, HOUSE OF AKTER. Your companion with a short temper and an even shorter attention span. You found them cowering in an alley the night you left and have been hiding from Xihnir's forces together since then. Meek and quiet but sometimes has a lot to say. Extremely suspicious and distrusting of newcomers. You think they may still be a bit wary of you.
Tumblr media
SILAS ✧ SHILA, CHILD OF IONA. The mean-spirited shepherd who works with you in the temple. At one point, you both were friends, though you're not sure what made them act so cold towards you. Though, that time is very distant. However, one thing hasn't changed: their love of their flock and slightly awkward disposition around new groups of people.
Tumblr media
KNOX ✧ KORA, HOUSE OF YARROW. "Eccentric," as the townspeople like to put it. You've only seen them keep to themselves; they're never seen without a notebook. In daylight, their face is tired and worn. You catch them sneaking over the temple walls at night as if hiding one big secret. Some nights, you catch them singing beautiful melodies before running away after they sense someone's listening.
Tumblr media
PRINCE LIROY ✧ PRINCESS LORELAI, THE CROWN HEIR OF GILHANNA. Emperor and Empress Jung's firstborn. They are known throughout the kingdom as the epitome of sophistication and stoicism. You don't know much about the Crowned Heir except their duties to the country come first, and they hold them quite dear. A bit too dear.
Tumblr media
PRINCESS DELILAH ✧ PRINCE DION, THE HEIR OF DANCE. The royal Jung's second born. A soft but refined beauty. Most remember them for their carefree and childish behavior. "Iona's dancing muse," some may say. You've only seen them dance once when you first came to Gilhanna. Beautiful, hypnotic. You believe they are everything the people say they are.
Tumblr media
PRINCESS CLEMENTINE ✧ PRINCE CLEMENT, THE FORGOTTEN HEIR. The youngest of the Jung siblings. You haven't heard about them in all your seven years in Gilhanna. Nor are they mentioned among the people.

Essential Guide to Understanding the Equal Tee in Piping |Anand Steels
In the complicated world of piping systems, it is important to have a thorough know-how of diverse components to ensure efficient and dependable operations. One such element that performs a pivotal role in piping networks is the Equal Tee. In this comprehensive guide, we will delve into the nuances of the Equal Tee, exploring its sorts, applications, and importance in piping systems. Additionally, we will comment on related additives together with 45 Deg Elbow, 90 Deg Elbow, Unequal Tee, Concentric Reducer, and Eccentric Reducer to provide holistic information.
Equal Tee: A Fundamental Component
The Equal Tee is a fundamental pipe that finds vast use in piping structures. Its primary cause is to facilitate the branching of pipelines into two instructions at a 90-degree angle, developing a 'T' shape. This design guarantees the same flow distribution in each direction, making it a vital element in retaining fluid or gasoline stability within a piping community.
Types of Tees and their Applications
Equal Tee: As the name suggests, an Equal Tee divides the waft similarly into guidelines, keeping stability in the gadget. This kind is ideal for programs in which a symmetrical distribution of fluids or gasses is crucial.
Unequal Tee: In situations in which the glide requirements within the two branches vary, an unequal tee comes into play. This kind allows for the adjustment of float quotes by presenting special-sized stores. This flexibility is precious in scenarios where customized flow distribution is important.
Understanding the 45 Deg Elbow
The 45 Deg Elbow is another vital element in piping systems. It is designed to redirect the drift from a 45-degree perspective, imparting flexibility in the pipeline layout. This type of elbow is usually used when a smoother change in path is required as compared to a pointy 90-degree flip. The 45 Deg Elbow is instrumental in lowering pressure drops and minimizing turbulence within the gadget.
Significance of the 90 Deg Elbow
The 90 Deg Elbow is one of the most commonly used pipe fittings. It allows a pointy 90-degree exchange in route, allowing for efficient navigation around limitations or changes within the piping path. This aspect is crucial to growing a properly prepared and area-efficient piping device.
Role of Concentric Reducer in Piping Systems
A Concentric Reducer is hired whilst there may be a need to connect pipes of various diameters. It features a conical form, with the larger stop facilitating the relationship to the bigger pipe, while the smaller quit connects to the smaller pipe. This discount in diameter facilitates a smooth go-with-the-flow transition, fending off abrupt adjustments that would cause stress imbalances.
Eccentric Reducer: Balancing Flow and Pressure
In conditions in which the pipes have special diameters but need to maintain a regular fluid or gasoline waft, an Eccentric Reducer is utilized. This type of reducer features an off-center connection, allowing for a sluggish reduction in diameter while ensuring that the flow remains balanced. Eccentric reducers are especially beneficial in scenarios where retaining strain is essential.
Applications in Various Industries
The Equal Tee, together with its counterparts like the 45 Deg Elbow, 90 Deg Elbow, Concentric Reducer, and Eccentric Reducer, finds packages across numerous industries. From petrochemical plants and refineries to water treatment centers and HVAC systems, these components play an essential role in setting up and maintaining efficient piping networks.
In the petrochemical industry, for example, where the transportation of various fluids is an everyday necessity, the Equal Tee guarantees that the distribution is uniform, preventing any capacity disruptions inside the manufacturing process. Similarly, the 45 Deg Elbow and 90 Deg Elbow are extensively used in HVAC structures, offering important flexibility to navigate around structural elements within homes.
Importance of Quality Materials
The performance and sturdiness of piping structures closely depend on the first-class materials used in their creation. Stainless metal, with its corrosion resistance and sturdiness, is a preferred choice for production pipe fittings like Equal Tees, 45 Deg Elbows, 90 Deg Elbows, Concentric Reducers, and Eccentric Reducers. one thing that doesn’t really translate from the page with asoiaf is how differently the Targaryens must have styled themselves compared to Westerosi fashions, and I do really like the idea of the Targs arriving in Westeros with a kind of Byzantine style w intricate patterns and asymmetric design. but also kind of like the idea of that style fading with each generation, so by the time of the Dance their fashions are more an allusion to it. then maybe Aegon III reduces it a little more in his preference for monochromatic dress. maybe there are Targs who try to wear their heritage like Jaehaerys II, but between kings like Maekar and Aegon V there’s a steady adoption of the more typical Westerosi fashions till one day nobody really remembers what Targaryen fashion looked like, and Aerys II is creeping around in some musty approximation of the robes he sees in the tapestries that he insists on but only look like an eccentricity to his family and the nobles around him

When I came across that "joke" from Tav to Quill and Z'rell's comment (plus Halsin), I had to take a minute to process what happened. Gale might be a bit silly and eccentric but he's the kindest, sweetest and most passionate character in that party. No wonder the poor man has deep insecurities to solve, so many people reduce him to an easy target! Ofc one of the side effects would be overconfidence and ambition as a defense mechanism. He's obv lonely; only Tara and Morena ever loved him for him.
Tumblr media
his eccentric nature might be a part of it. he is loquacious, outgoing, and doesn’t see the point in hiding his enthusiasm. he is considered to be the weird one. naturally, wizards in general being seen as somewhat squishy and physically weak might also add to it.
personally, i really don’t like the implications of the (widely considered) autistic-coded character being the one who faces the most ridicule by far by other characters and fans (and larian) alike.
some might disagree with me on that, but i don’t find it funny by any means either. mostly it just makes me feel bad. “he deserves it. cocky, arrogant, hubris-ridden wizard needs to be taken down a peg” like he isn’t… y’know… already at his lowest. it also disregards the fact that much of his bravado is part of his carefully curated Great Wizard of Waterdeep™ persona that he has skillfully adopted to mask his general feeling of being defective. being fiercely proud of your skill and knowledge and being doubtful of having something truly worthwhile to offer are mindsets that can coexist. according to fandom, gale is either secret hubris incarnate that is only waiting to be unleashed upon the world or pure baby that can do no wrong. instead of a character that is just as flawed and traumatized as all the others, but no less deserving of genuine love.
to me, the constant ridicule just reads as further feeding into his deep-rooted insecurities and his belief that he (as gale, the person) isn’t someone who holds inherent worth. it really, really doesn’t sit well with me.

A lot of professions tend toward living this way so that the person can live in the same building as their office or business - it's especially common with people who work with secret, private or valuable information or materials, where reducing the number of people constantly walking around the area helps make security simpler, and maintaining a quiet home work space is desirable.
Lawyers, spellwriters, librarians, and accountants often live separately from their family in smaller homes, depending on the kind of work they do in their fields.
For that reason, while it's viewed as eccentric and antisocial, possibly curmudgeonly, and often seen as shirking family responsibility to some degree, it still has an air of respectability. Professional recluses (Atlas fits the stereotype basically)
Not everyone who chooses that lifestyle has the benefit of a respected career though, they tend to be viewed more negatively in that case, often associated with having troubles too great to allow a person to live with others or being too toxic even for the houses that take just about anyone like dead houses (like PenWell's) often do.
The pros: more control over one's own life, reduced responsibility for others (like avoiding being roped into childcare with no warning), less involvement in complicated family drama, fewer interruptions or disruptions of your work,
The cons: more responsibility for basic home management planning and chores (getting food, tracking when things will run out, tracking and paying bills, cleaning, building maintenance etc., - in the normal house system these are elder duties to either perform or keep track of and assign to others), more expensive due to economy of scale, risk of social deprivation and the negative effects to mental health that that causes, less social support when they need it if they haven't maintained relationships

I don't want to be a asshole or anything, but I really struggle with the notion of a 'well-written female character' that people have been shoving down our throats in recent years. Nowadays, for a female character to be considered 'well-written,' she must either primarily fit the 'badass femme fatale' archetype - almost invulnerable with its derivatives - or be a 'masculine woman’.
Oddly enough, these are also the two most popular types of women in fiction right now (lol).
As much as I understand why people want women to have more diverse roles and not be reduced to the 'dumb blonde,' the 'damsel in distress,' or the 'walking love interest' as before, I also think that what we have today does just as much of a disservice to female representation as years ago.
How is what we are doing today inherently different from before?
We have taken female characters out of the tropes that imprisoned them... to fundamentally lock them into other stereotypical tropes that we refuse to let them out of again. These types of characters are often praised as examples of quality female representation, but is that really the case?
I'm not saying they are bad, far from it. But that shouldn't be all there is, that's my complaint about it. And people should also stop passing this off as 'representation' when most of these characters are far too unrealistic to even come close. They are amazing, yes, they are icons to admire because they are truly impressive for the most part, but I challenge anyone to say they are relatable. And that's fine because they're not even supposed to be in the first place.
Fiction should have these types of women because it's fiction, but it should also make room for other types of female characters. The diversity of roles for women is terribly limited, and honestly, I can't really say it's entirely the media's fault.
Is it really too much to ask for diversified female characters?
I would like to see more weak women because it is not necessary to be traditionally strong to be valid. I want to see crazy people, psychopaths, eccentrics, but also sweet, shy, calm characters. I would like to see more women make mistakes without needing a tragic past to justify them.
I would also like to see more realistic women. There are some, yes, but not many, and strangely these types of characters tend to be labeled as poorly written and then completely rewritten by their fandom to fit their idealized version of what a 'good female character' should be.
The most uncomfortably accurate examples I have in mind are Mabel Pines and Sakura Haruno; just look at the hate these two receive to realize that a majority of the public can't handle female characters whose behavior is more human than extraordinary.
The funny thing about this is that people don't even realize that with this kind of behavior, they are perpetuating stereotypes that ironically they are trying to break. Some realize it but prefer to absolve themselves by blaming the media/authors they accuse of poorly writing women, largely in order to justify the disgusting and relatively hypocritical behaviors they have towards certain female characters.
This is particularly evident in Sakura's case; the hatred people have for her is just pathological at this point, further exacerbated by mass effect. Many fans blame Kishimoto for « writing her poorly », which they believe is their main issue with her character. The fact is when you look at the situation as a whole, this excuse doesn't even hold up. The things she is condemned for cannot be solely attributed to her; some of the other most popular characters in this franchise exhibit the same characteristics and sometimes even worse than anything she has shown before, but for some reason, she is the only character in this series who is so vilified because of it. When it comes to others, most fans make excuses for them, except you can't judge a character for something they did while turning a blind eye or even worse, praise another for doing exactly the same thing; it's a blatant double standard and it's not objective at all.
Her character isn't perfect; she is horribly underused and since she occupies the position of tritagonist aka heroine, it stands out more than others who, although also sidelined, are only supporting characters. That's the main problem I've always had with Kishimoto's writing about her, but apart from that, I really can't find much bad to say about her character. Again, I'm not saying she's perfect; far from it, but that's what makes her interesting. Sakura's role was to bring a more human side to this series; that was her job. She was never supposed to be like her teammates; Sakura was meant to stay on a human scale because she was created for that.
That's the beauty of her character.
Changing that is changing her very essence, what makes her who she is, and that's what this fandom does; they rewrite her by using the excuse of 'poor writing' as a kind of defensive flag and eliminate from her character everything that makes her, well... her.
Mabel, (a character from the show Gravity Falls) is another case of a rather strange fandom. She is literally 13 years old and yet her character at the time (and even today) has sparked such waves of hatred that those who hadn't watched the show could believe she's the she-Devil incarnate when she... just acts her age. She is, however, an adorable child. She is eccentric, good-hearted, quite prone to blunders, but that's also what makes her endearing. However, the way some talk about her is just... revolting.
To hear them, being a pre-adolescent in fiction and behaving as such is a crime. Like Sakura, she also suffers from a rewriting of her character - although it doesn't manifest in the same way - and from what I've noticed, sometimes it's not even done consciously.
Another thing I've noticed is that they are not the only type of characters to benefit from this treatment from fandoms. Even female characters meeting their 'writing standards' sometimes have these problems. Just look at Diana (Wonder Woman), and how some - many - of her fans have transformed her. She went from the epitome of feminism, meaning a woman treating everyone as equals regardless of their gender, believing in justice and doing her best to uphold it into a lame and arrogant fanon version of herself who hates men, thinks she's superior to them, believes girls are the best thing in the world and no man can surpass them - apparently their version of feminism.
People need to understand that just as we can't please everyone, not all characters can suit everyone's tastes, which is normal. They should focus more on what suits them and ignore what doesn't instead of trying to adapt characters that are not their cup of tea to their personal tastes.
 Really.
This crap is why there are so many fanon versions of 'strong and feminist women,' not because their canon version is 'poorly written,' but because they are not written according to their tastes.
On the rare occasions when we actually have unusual characters, different from what we're used to seeing, the fandom takes it upon itself to ruin that by transforming them, thus ruining their characterization.
God only knows how much I have my own issues with the current film industry - and some authors in general - but I acknowledge that they at least make the effort to try in certain aspects, whereas fans don't even try. They tend to blame everyone but themselves because they refuse to accept that they are also part of the problem. So yes, the media is certainly crappy in some ways, but the fandom with their obsession with wanting to "fix" every work or character that doesn't suit them, makes it even crappier. They standardize everyone.
I it's all well and good to reblog/like posts criticizing fandom spaces and their treatment of fictional characters, but maybe it would be wise to actually apply what you claim to agree with, and not selectively.
This is a subject I didn't really intend to address on Tumblr, but I couldn't help myself after coming across one of your requests where you were talking about the writing of female characters in Naruto. As someone who is currently writing a thesis on media-fandom dynamics, this syndrome of 'good/bad writing' is one of the points I address, which prompted me to express my opinion.
Anyway, I hope I'm not bothering you with my overly long essay; I tend to talk way too much when a subject is close to my heart.
I'll be honest - When I first saw the length of your ask, I was just like "holy shit", and my first thought was to just read it and give a generic "yeah I agree" answer at the end. However, this was a very good read and I pretty much agreed with most, if not all of what you said. So it ultimately made me want to give my thoughts on a few specific things you mentioned which resonated with me.
Yep, I made a similar point during this post where I discussed a YouTube video about how Nobara (JJK) is apparently what Sakura (Naruto) was supposed to be, and I went into detail about how utterly flawed their reasoning was.
As much as I understand why people want women to have more diverse roles and not be reduced to the 'dumb blonde,' the 'damsel in distress,' or the 'walking love interest' as before, I also think that what we have today does just as much of a disservice to female representation as years ago. Yep, the feminist, boss babe archetype is dominating now. It's even seeped into the Marvel movies, which is a component of why they have tanked recently. It hasn't improved their character depth, and it often just seems as though the writers these days care more about racial diversity, LGBTQ representation, and their skewed idea of "female empowerment", rather than creating plots which are actually engaging and make sense.
I would like to see more weak women because it is not necessary to be traditionally strong to be valid. I want to see crazy people, psychopaths, eccentrics, but also sweet, shy, calm characters. This part above resonated with me a lot.

💯
It's as I always say - Sakura and or/SasuSaku are the exceptions to everything.
Tumblr media
That is the reason why I even created this meme for myself, because I found myself saying this so often in response to Sakura being the only one getting hated on for things other characters have exhibited.
That reminds me of how often I see people describe themselves as Sakura fans, and then they proceed to criticise the fuck out of her (mainly due to her relationship with Sasuke and how it goes against all of their "boss babe" ideals of how apparently strong and independent women don't need no man!). And so I'm just like, how are you a Sakura fan then? If they had their way with Sakura's character, she would be unrecognisable to her canon self. They don't like Sakura, they like the idea of what they wanted her to be.
Mabel, (a character from the show Gravity Falls) is another case of a rather strange fandom. I don't watch Gravity Falls so I know nothing about the situation, but I can imagine what you're talking about.

Yep, that's essentially what recent feminism has devolved into, there's a lot of misandry involved in modern feminism, which is a shame because that doesn't align with its core principles.

The manner in which you articulated your opinions was very good, so I'm not surprised you're writing a thesis on this, I can tell how passionate you are about this topic. If you haven't done so already, you should consider starting your own blog or something similar as a hobby, I can tell you'd excel if the above is anything to go by 👍

Master of the Mountain is like the thematic inverse to Rise of the Snakes, because you have these visibly non-human, color-coded species based on an Evil Race archetype, who dwell underground. They have their little eccentricities, one of them decides leadership by combat, and they don't get along with each other. This divide is encouraged and exploited by humans in order to prevent a unified uprising, so that these underground dwellers can remain trapped and out of sight, reduced to superstition on the surface.
But MotM recognizes that these underground species are victims, that they are being unjustly hurt and exploited and victimized; It is the human on the surface, obsessed with the appearance of conventional beauty and normalness, who is the true oppressor here. And our protagonists side with these underground tribes, helping them make amends, and granting them great agency in rebelling against those who trapped them.
And I find it interesting because Cole is very much carrying on the legacy of his mother Lilly, who was also a friend and defender of the Munce and Geckles. Her Blades of Deliverance having freaking skulls etched into their hilts. And her father fought alongside the Serpentine, defending them while humanity drove them underground. Cole himself was turned into a Ghost at one point, and was briefly hypnotized by a Serpentine.
Something something. The Brookstone lineage has always been open-minded, welcoming of things that are nonconventional and seem 'scary' on the surface because what is weird, someone who is different, or someone who is different from you? They see the Serpentine, the Munce and the Geckles, and they don't judge nor impose human standards of attractiveness and beauty onto them. They themselves have kinship with 'evil' races, to the point of Cole becoming one of them at a point, and thus reaching out to Yang because he was able to relate. Lou, the ‘outsider’ who marries in, is introduced with an arc about accepting his son for who he is.
Black is a color associated with darkness, death, and evil. But it is also associated with the Masters of Earth. The underground is vilified, hence the Underworld, the Serpentine, the Munce and Geckles; But the Masters of Earth are at home with it. Death is feared but one wields the symbol of the skulls and the other the scythe, and even becomes one of the dead at a point. He fears dragons only to be closer to them than anyone else. The shadows are feared yet ninja find refuge in them, and those who dwell in the earth find much comfort in the darkness already.
