An Octopus's First Impression

I have so much brainrots but im not a good enough writer to put them into actual stories and stuff😭 AHHHH TEH PAIN (If it isnt obvious enough I have low confidence in myself with my writing ability TT) But yes, Hello! When you first arrived at NRC Azul was surely not one of the individuals you'd paid mind to. The first dorm leaders that made their appearances known to your acknowledgment first was Vil because of his striking awe-stunning and jaw dropping beauty, Kalim because of his outward friendliness and radiating-welcoming personality, and lastly Riddle because of his fierce strictness to follow the school rules accordingly (And along with other respective proper and prim mannerisms and clothing rules to abide by whenever your paths were crossed)

Idia of course did not make his presence known and you literally did not know of him only until later after meeting Orthro, and even then you've only heard of him and never actually seen him. I mean cmon, who has honestly?

Leona is always hiding away, lazing around somewhere as he naps away into his own comfort so you dont even encounter him until some magical fateful day, but thats a story for another time :)

Although perhaps meeting him already when everyone is asleep, you arent really formally introduced to Malleus. So until then, you technically havent met Malleus for multiple reasons that are rather lengthy to list.

And then there's Azul. oooooh boy. Despite how interested he is in you regarding your sudden magical predicament and trying to approach you, you somehow always seem to be going astray from your interactions with him

He's tried to approach you, ensuring he'd give a lasting impression on you as he's heading on over to greet you properly

though things dont go as planned when Lilia is suddenly snatching you away to go entertain a certain activity of his out of nowhere

Or when you're being chased by a random Savanaclaw student with a bread bun in your mouth and Grim buried in your side as your arm wraps around him securely, holding about 4x amount of food in his paws (Cater in the background taking pictures of this and posting it on his magicam #delinquent #hungry for some breadbunz #Getting chased #My junior is so cute and trouble some #Uh oh trouble!)

Perhaps if it weren't for those troublesome classmates of yours, ah yes - Ace and Deuce - then you wouldn't be stuck in a tree branch right now with that troubling huntsman below you trying to help you down and he would by now be shaking hands with you

Why are you just all over the place?! You've already met with that Lazy Lion when all he did was sleep on the floor and you miraculously tripped over him, resulting in him catching you in his arms before you fell face first into the hard cobblestoned floor! He didnt even do anything to try and approach you so why is it that despite all his meticulous planning on trying to approach you and make an appearance, it just never happens?! Not only that but you're now indebted to that second prince just for you to do him a solid and fetch him a meat sandwich. Seriously, what a waste of a perfect opportunity

Do you perhaps already know who he is? Is that it? Are you actively trying to avoid him?! You're stressing him out already here Prefect, hello?! Its very important for a business man to expand his connections, you know. You two have never even properly met! Now that wont do at all, he must make his appearance now. Especially when you can offer that lovely little dwelling of yours for a branch of his add on of the Mostro Lounge with some talking and persuasion of course :)

He's been carefully looking over your schedule, trying to figure out what classes you go to at what time and when; will we be able to cross paths here? What about when you head on over to your chem class? You have lunch with who and where? Noted, now he can definitely prepare to approach you now. Is he desperate? Of course not, he's just ought to give you a proper greeting is all! Its not weird that he's trying to remember your schedule and trying to talk to you and-

You're in the library, studying up on some topics you don't quite get in your history class. The library was rather quaint and tranquil, a nice aesthetically pleasing place to help you go over your lessons and to study. You had a test coming up in Professor Trein's class and that was something you did NOT want to fail in again. Failing once or perhaps twice or maybe even a possible third time but who knows was already enough to bring your grade down to get a harsh scolding from Riddle and a sympathetic look from Trey

Your face all in the book, your notes plastered and sprawled out on the side where they rest on the table, and your other needed stationary next to you, you were in a environment where no one was around for you to focus up and study hard

Well, no one around except for Azul

Perfect! This is a great opportunity to approach you now! No one is around and he can even talk up into having you indebted to him by helping you study! This situation is rather perfect if he says so himself

A confident look spreads across his face as he walks on over to you, a perfect and professional air surrounding him

"Good evening Prefect, It's a pleasure to finally meet your acquaintance. I do apologize on interrupting your study session here but I would like the humbling experience to introduce myself."

A nice and firm smile is sprawled on his face as his hand is outstretched towards yours to make a formal shake. You look up from your book and stare at his hand, soon taking it as you sit and ponder only for a second

"Oh, aren't you that guy who couldn't get above 10 inches off the floor while riding his broomstick?"

Crack. After finally being able to introduce himself for GOD KNOWS HOW LONG, you know him for THAT?! For sevens sake! Not as Octavinelle's Dorm leader, BUT "that guy who couldn't get above 10 inches off the floor"

God he wants to go curl away and hide now. His hand flinching as you mention so but you keep a firm hold on his to give him a proper shake, a little oblivious to his faltering demeanor

"I think Floyd mentioned you before too. You're that boss running Mostro Lounge he said right? I think he said your name was-"

"Azul Ashengrotto." Clearing his throat a little before he continues "It's a pleasure to meet you (y/n)" Azul is quick to regain his composure and returns the firm hold. How strong you grip and how long you shake is incredibly important in dealing with business, especially when wanting to make lasting impressions to expand your social networks

In his mind though he wants to quickly eradicate that impression you have about him, and thus he asks to join you - to which you complied - in hopes of overwriting and hopefully making you forget that horrific thing you witness regarding his flight skills

And of course Floyd just had to meet you before he did. Its not really surprising considering his boisterous personality and extroverted behavior when in the mood, but perhaps Jade has also met you then too. Considering that those two tend to be near one another

No, of course he's not feeling bitter that even those two slimy eels met you first. Of course he's not feeling a little irritated that they didnt try to strike you up into making a deal with him. Or maybe the fact that whatever those two were doing they'd at least try to make you two meet! Afterall, he did tell them to send you over once due to his interest in you. But he then adverts his attention back onto you when mention how you are currently studying for an upcoming test

You dont know him at all yet, so you let yourself be completely vulnerable. Looking like the smart and reliable gentleman that he is, you ask him to help you study. Oh how you make it so easy for him, he didnt even need to offer!

With a pleasant smile on his face, his slick and gloved fingers pushing up the frame of his glasses, he happily accepts with a sweet tone in his voice as you both sit together and go over the lessons together

Intrusive twst hc:

Floyd is canonically one (1) cm taller than Jade and never lets him live it down, so in turn as to spite his brother, the sole of Jade’s shoes are always 2 cm taller than Floyd’s.

So if Floyd’s wears shoes that have 2 cm heels, Jade’s will wear 4 cm heels, if Floyd wears 11 cm kicks, you bet your ass Jade is going to pull up in 13 cm stilettos etc.

Therefore by extension, Jade is semi-forced to buy new shoes whenever Floyd got new ones that have a new height.

Which results in Jade having extensive knowledge on Floyd and his own shoes while Floyd has no memory of what shoes he wore the day before.

And that is the end of my ted talk on Floyd and Jade being passive aggressive siblings and one of the many tiny feuds they have as a result.

Usually I put lessons on auto in the background and do something else while I level my guys, but...

Watching Floyd in class is so genuinely entertaining? You guys. He's such a shitlord.

Crowley shows up. Floyd starts out looking hilariously shocked, then gets all grumpy about the "special lesson." But, he keeps interrupting his own little scowlfest to yell, "Check this out!" And also, "Heeey, Headmage!" ...Repeatedly.

Floyd is 100% That One Kid in every class, who clearly has undiagnosed ADHD or something. Can't sit still. Constantly interrupts the teacher just to get attention. Jumpscares the whole class by punching his desk and yelling non sequiturs at random intervals. Probably eats glue.

Regardless of how the game arranges them, Floyd seems like the type who always sits in the very back of the classroom. Probably usually with his feet up on the desk, leaning backwards in his chair. He's probably fallen over backwards multiple times and scared the shit out of himself and everybody else. While he's basically impervious to injury, he's definitely broken at least two or maybe three chairs at this point. He probably now has his own assigned chair in every classroom, which individual teachers have angrily bespelled to be "Floyd-proof"--resistant to breaking, levitates if tipped over, etc.

Floyd has decorated these with glitter-infused stickers and copious graffiti, so everybody knows they're "his." He is territorial of them.

Regardless of how the game arranges them, Riddle definitely always sits in the front row, and Floyd has definitely perfected the art of throwing paper airplanes through his little heart-shaped hair thingy.

Jade: Welcome to our domain for today's meeting where you will be stuck here for six hours, no exceptions. Please return to your seat (as all exits and windows have been locked) and enjoy the next six hours.

Jade: Not to worry, because as you've been informed prior to coming here, breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided for. Please take a look at the menu to see our wonderful selection that we will be providing today.

Jade: What's that? ...Oh, worry not. You have not misread the menu at all!

Floyd, barging into Jade's room: Jade! Azul says he's still in charge of today's menu and wants you to set up the tables!

Floyd, glaring at Jade: Oh, and I'm in charge of making sure you're not smuggling any unauthorized mushrooms into the meeting!

Floyd, as he walks backwards out of Jade's room: Azul says he doesn't want a repeat of last time!

despite how much azul continues to do his best to learn about life on land… relationships are certainly difficult for him to understand sometimes considering how long he has spent his life in the sea and though there are many similarities between merpeople… there are still some differences. once azul is rather close to you he does become unintentionally— clingy with you. (when you two officially get together that's another story) but he has a habit of wanting to lean close to you or have a hand on you in some way, like on the small of your back when showing you something in the mostro lounge.

so needless to say, he is in love with any sort of touch from you he takes that as some sort of hope and sign that you reciprocate how he feels haha. jade and floyd tease him ALL the time about it especially when he was struggling to keep his cool-headed composure after you once gave him a hug after he did something to help you once.

like I've said azul really doesn't think about it or even try to be this way around you he just does aljdfajdkhf. he’ll feel like a smitten fool as he sits in the vip lounge as he's doing papers and just think about how you playfully linked your arm around his to bring him somewhere. small things like that are actually quite big to him when it comes down to the differences.

he's aware you probably don't know that you're unknowingly flirting with him, but he finds it amusing and plays along with you, nevertheless. he thinks it's cute that you don't know and all the more enticing, you’ll find him chuckling, trying to hide his grin with his gloved hand “oh my, I didn't know you liked me that much fufu” he’d say. you can't help but feel confused as to what he finds so interesting… like you literally just yawned.

it'll take him a while to actually tell you what it means since he finds the obliviousness to be quite cute. you only put two and two together when he tells floyd about what you did right in front of him and the two laugh about it. now you've got floyd teasing u about it..

like azul he is a little more affectionate just in a different more. in a less obvious fashion, though there definitely have been a few occasions where he likes to bring your hand to his lips and see your reaction, he finds it so amusing. he always has his teethy grin plastered on his face.

he hates the way he can always tell when you're wearing cologne or perfume and he hates that he likes it as well, he may or may not be a bit addicted to your scent. he literally can tell if you're near just because he knows the damn fragrance you use.

if you two are particuarly close... like him falling asleep around you and such. if you happen to pet his head and his ears, he immediately shoots you this look then mumbles something before being too tired to do anything about it or give you some retort. he just lets it happen... he does enjoy it anyway. slowly he kinda doesnt realize how clingy he can get with you because of it. he becomes a little needy and wanting more attention from you. he cant help it.... i mean you basically just showed him that you're fine with it anyways.

leona seems to be someone who can get pretty possessive, unintentionally too over you. kind of territorial, like if you're someone he has eyes for then he doesn't expect others to really get in the way of that.

malleus draonica

malleus is not only a fae but a pretty sheltered one too, I’d think he’d take almost anything from you as a sign of you being completely infatuated with him as he is with you. you could offer split your ice cream or invite him out somewhere, show any sort of interest in him as he talks about gargoyles as he’s doing single club activities. the one time you asked curiously and wanted to touch his horns, he’d be searching for the loveliest jewel to bestow you for your wedding day.

speaking of jewels… he gifts to you a lot especially after you give him anything first (it could be a cool rock you found) and he’d be so smitten and glad to reciprocate that by giving you earrings, rings, necklaces etc. and when you accept them even though you're not exactly fully understanding why he takes it even more as a sign of you accepting his advances.

after taking any of your little acts of being somewhat kind to him and he’s already so deeply into you, lilia would certainly be someone who hears just all about it. i think he would only feel happy for malleus, as it appears he must’ve found the right one. he is just supportive of malleus and is simply overjoyed to know he has some little human that makes him so happy.

he has lived long enough and in different places to understands human courting's and more so than someone like malleus. he knows how different it is, trust me he is fully aware, but he thinks it's amusing. lilia pretends to take it the wrong way and watch you get all confused, when he's just being playful.

just cant help that he finds it so adorable when you unknowingly show him affections as a fae would in his culture. even just being slightly affectionate with him is enough to have him giggling and warning you to be careful to what fae you do that to. they do tend to take very kindly towards any affections and gifts!

lilia will straight up tell you though too, you could gift him and give him something neat you found or made, and he'd look up at you with a stupid grin like "kfufu... i accept your love, dear" NO???. he still holds onto anything from you with the utmost joy.

Based on a tiktok of a guy proposing by hiding the ring in an orange.

He was so in love with you. Utterly, hopelessly, and blissfully in love with you. If he didn't do this now, he wasn't sure he'd be able to.

He sat next to you on the checkered blanket, one you insisted you get for your picnic date. As luck would have it, there was a local farmer's market happening in the park, just across from where you two had settled.

It was the perfect excuse for him to slip you a fresh orange in the middle of your lunch. He'd grabbed the biggest, brightest orange that he was sure would be as sweet as you. He wanted to surprise you, and you've always loved jokes and harmless pranks. Even when (especially when) his fell flat with others, you always gave him a laugh and pretty smile. So he just knew that you'd love this.

As he finally managed to make a small enough tear in the skin to not completely make the orange fall apart, but big enough to slip in the ring. It's sparkling gem just poking out for your view, he gently elbowed you for your attention.

“Here honey.”

You'd been distractedly people watching the folks at the farmer's market, jumping slightly to look at the orange in his hand.

“Oh, thank you! Where'd you get an orange?” You asked, smiling at him as you looked at the orange.

He gestured for you to take it, which you did without question.

“I got it from the farmer's market just a bit ago, but I think there's something in it.”

“Whaaaat?” You gasped, immediately turning the orange over and peeling it. “What do you mean there's something in it?”

He couldn't help but smile as you excitedly dug your nails into the skin, though you were peeling at the wrong spot.

“Just look, right there!” He exclaimed in faux surprise, moving your hand to turn the orange. Your fingers brushed over the stone, making you gasp.

“Oh my gosh!” A giddy grin grew across your face as you carefully picked around the ring until you were able to dig it out.

“Oh. Oooooh!”

Surprise covered your face, mouth dropped as you help the ring up, it shone in juice and from the sunlight. It was one of his favorite sights, though all of them included you.

Sudden realization crossed your face as you turned to face him, holding the ring between you two. You were still smiling with a sparkle in your eye, and he knew that this the best idea he'd ever had.

“Baby-gasp-baby.” You grabbed his hand, and exclaimed. “We can sue them for this!”

Wait, what!

“No! Will you marry me?!” He half-laughed, half-cried.

“Oh!” You hummed in understanding, before realization crossed your face, and you threw yourself at him. “Oh my god, yes!!!”

He loved you, and your antics. He's glad he can be with them for the rest of his life.
