I want desperately to hang out with people who share the same interests. But I can not get over the feelings of being disliked, unwanted, boring, not being good enough, etc. I feel like I have nothing to offer a friendship but my undying loyalty, which in my experience people see as "he is reliable when I need to use him". I will never be someone's first choice, but always someone's worst-case scenario.

I think I truly felt what it's like to be a Gen Z and out of place today...As somebody who is 19, into cosplay, animated and indie shows, apart of LGBT and a psych major, my family gets in heated arguments with me. They tell me I'm immature and some of it is mental illness- I'm literally the one to know, I'm going to school for it. But, I hold it back a majority of the time, they don't really know who I am, cause I don't tell them.

Waiting for the day reality melts away.
