A lot of what I see in system spaces online is people who have good communication, who know a lot about their alters and all.

But I wanna say that that’s not the only way to be a system! We personally are somewhere in the middle of good and bad communication. We can’t hear each other most of the time, and there’s a lot we don’t know about each other. Some of us haven’t even met yet. We only know specific information about each other because we use Simply Plural.

It’s completely normal to not be able to communicate, to not know anything about your alters, to not know if you have an innerworld and what it looks like, etc! This is just a part of the disorder, for most people!

So you’re all still valid :)

Felt I should share this as I haven't really seen it talked about in system or RAMCOA spaces. When you use Octocon your parts will be attached numbers to each part based off who was created first. While it's likely due to how to code the easiest. it is important to remember that if you are a survivor who has parts who were forced to be called a number, are a survivor who was called a number collectively/bodily, forced to refer to others as numbers or has any trauma related to number names please tread carefully.

I know as a survivor it can be extremely scary not being able to control your name or having anxieties related to not being called your number too. Please know you are not forced to use Octocon just because other people are using it. If plural kit or simply plural work best for you than keep using them. You do not need to switch over and risk your own mental health. Being a survivor who was dehumanized to numbers is horrible and whether you decide to reclaim your trauma or are healing by moving away from it know your triggers are valid.

Know you are never alone in healing your trauma and note this post is for education. This is not to bash in the creators of Octocon nor is it to tell you how to feel about the app/bot. At the end of the day how you find support with yourself is for only you and your system to decide. With thet being said do not interact with this post if you are pro/neu-endo / believe in any form of "plurality" outside of being trauma based. If you are a questioning system, a cdd system who is syscourse unaligned or apathetic you are more than welcome to repost and interact.

Study on Alter Relationships within DID/OSDD/UDD Systems

Hello! I’ve recently been interested in what way the relationships between alters in my system present, and so have decided to run a study to see how things are for other systems. I also wanted to research possible factors behind why relationships between alters differ between systems, so I thought this study could provide some interesting information on the DID/OSDD community generally.

All responses are 100% confidential, and there’s a longer informed consent statement which you’ll see before you start the study. It should take no longer than 5-10 minutes.

People who are eligible to take part in the study:

- DID/OSDD/UDD and other traumagenic systems. (You do notneed to be diagnosed, self diagnosed systems may take part.)

- Systems who apply to the above but do not have romantic or familial relationships in their system (Your response is still valuable!)

People who are NOT eligible to take part in the study:

- Endogenic systems or other system types who do not consider themselves to have DID/OSDD/UDD. (This is a study on how these relationships manifest in DID/OSDD/UDD specifically.)

- Anyone else who does not have DID/OSDD/UDD.

- Systems who do not have any knowledge on the relationships between their alters. (You may not be able to answer the required questions.)

I would really appreciate as many responses as possible, so I can have a big enough data set to draw some theories, so find the link below:

Even if you’re not eligible for the study, I would greatly appreciate any reblogs so that as many people as possible can take part.

We have two other friends who are in a system, but even then, we don't really disclose anything other than "yeah, I also have a cdd" to them

We don't mention it on any of our other social medias either, only on this blog, we have many embarrassment about it, esp being a fictional introject

Our question then is how do u get rid of the shame and the fear that other will judge you

I want to be open to friends, but I don't know how to handle being judged, we are not very strong

Is it just me or do endos just post the most surface level things about plurality??

I saw a post saying "Plural culture is having to explain to your friends why you sometimes don't remember things and act different."

Like sure that's true but it's like one of the most well-known things ever, it's been said hundreds of times.

It honestly strengthens my belief that these people really don't know what plurality is beyond Tumblr and maybe a Wikipedia page or two. It just makes it seem like they didn't put much effort into learning what plurality actually is beyond the most well-known things about it.
