oh another recommendation. if you don’t listen to murder by death, you’re really fucking missing out. they toured with laura jane grace this year. here are 3 of my fave songs by them. the first was my top song of the year according to spotify:

Howard Van Tall has little idea how he came to be, just that he one day was. Deciding that the teasing, peckish and annoying wheelk birds were much too annoying to tolerate, he decided to walk until he found a new, much less annoying home. Howard also decided at the same time that he wasn't the least bit irritating, himself. Whole days and nights passed and he seemed to walk the whole continent over, stopping only to sit and contemplate each new location he visited. Eventually, as it happened, he decided that the abandoned fortress of Armikrog was where he would sleep, but it wasn't so abandoned anymore when a ship crashed down from the sky one day. It carried a man, a woman, and a baby. Although his conversations with the man, who he and the Octovators decided to call Father (being the father of the Child and husband to the Mother) were brief and rare, he enjoyed him and his family's company. Every day, at each dawn and dusk, he read Father's story as more and more words appeared on a wall and decided he would let them stay once he'd reached the final word. There was a sort of kinship Howard felt towards Armikrog. No matter about where or when they came from, they were both here now, and it was at that thought that he decided he was content.

Sitting together on a bench, casually enjoying the day and each other's company, Nedy finds himself more invested with observing the company he kept and his mouth speaks his thoughts before he could think to not. But De'Verro is an obliging guy (but really, just for certain individuals, but he won't tell him that), so he lets him investigate more closely. Nedy's eyes are wide and he can't help but laugh, but certainly not to mock him, and despite his better judgement is compelled by curiosity to reach out and touch the one held out before him. De'Verro's hands are... big. So big the taller Neverhoodian notices how small Nedy's are by comparison. Small hands, perhaps, but greatly enjoyable to hold. Far more than expected. The moment lingered, warm and pleasant between their palms, and it was really no surprise that they found themselves smiling.

Some art I've had laying around for a while and wanted to color but I just wanna post it already so colors will have to wait for another day :p

There was more he saw than just his gimlet-eyed beauty. But where else could he stare, save for those blood-red eyes? The tapestry of their union reflected so deeply within them there were times they became a mirror. Although he would surely drown, he kept his mouth shut and let himself sink into their depths. The dazzling light of the surface had lost its appeal all too long ago. But he was fine. He didn't need to see in the dark to find his way out. Like the light from a lurid lighthouse, those eyes would always be there to find him again.
