Like Sev hates Roy at first and then with time, he realises that he actually had a crush on him the whole time. Roy knew this and then they start to date….Severus doubts himself and his ability to become loved and wonders why Roy likes him and continues to date him. Since of Severus’ trust issues, he pushes Roy away when he finds out about Sev’s cUts on his wrists and they break up (really on Sev’s side, he thinks that). But Gilderoy knows what Severus feels and gives him a bit of time to figure himself out, and then goes to visit Severus at Spinner’s End. Since Severus’ dad was at work, it’s simply perfect timing and Gilderoy drops the L-bomb, with those three simple words and forgives Severus because he simply loves him. Severus doesn’t know how to react but it makes his heart swell up inside. THEN he realises that Roy helped him with his issues and they are perfect dating each other until the end of Hogwarts. (Yes this takes place during third year to seventh year)….

She was raised in a privileged household, watching from the bannister as her parents hosted beautiful parties in their obscenely tall townhouse. From an early age Rita longed for a life just like theirs, filled with beauty, travel, notoriety and respect. It fuelled her from the minute she woke up to the moment she rested her head. With her father constantly at work or away on business trips, and her mother consumed by her small social circle of gossips, Rita’s childhood soon became lonely. Having similar interests, most of Rita’s friends at the paper also established themselves at The Daily Prophet, becoming fantastic journalists and photographers in their own right. But not everyone was happy about her success. Emma had been like a sister to Rita, her best friend- she trusted her with everything. With an absent family at home, Emma was her family, which made their falling out all the more harder. As Rita rose to fame, she watched as Emma tried to wriggle out of her shadow, Rita had never thought of Emma as in her shadow- though she could see why others would think so. The conversations became more brief, she noticed as her expression soured and then at a party that was held in celebration of her new column, Rita watched as Emma kissed the man she’d been seeing, AUGUSTUS ROOKWOOD [former romantic liaison] and disappeared out the door. Rita would never let anyone know how much it hurt her. She cried in private, winged her eyeliner and wore a brave face for work. Random Harry Potter headcanons:

Severus Snape is one of those people whose insides are so caring and soft he built a whole mean, sarcastic wall around it to protect that little person inside, I firmly believe that. Snape always has a kind of formalhyde smell/potions smell clinging to his hair, that’s also why it’s greasy. He does bathe. As a child Snape always wore hand-me-downs so he never developed a sense of fashion, instead he prefers to look professional in a simple but well-tailored/nice set of black robes. Snape’s favorite food is the simple potato and vegetable stew his mother made him as a child. Lily is the only person he ever loved/allowed himself to love. Still wears grey underpants as an adult.

Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy genuinely love eachother but Narcissa puts her son Draco first no matter what so they grew apart due to the task Voldemort made Draco do. Later, they will glow closer again and love seeing their beloved son Draco grow into a strong adult. Lucius only gets over the guilt by the time Scorpius goes to Hogwarts. They babysit him together and Lucius can be the doting grandpa and make up for some of the way he treated Draco that way, which helps Narcissa see him in a different light as well. House is white marble, old country manor style.

Draco is determined to raise Scorpius the way he wants, however. Draco is a very good father who won’t make his parents’ mistakes. Draco smells like nice quality soaps, a very clean scent. Draco won’t show off wealth the way his parents do so his more modern house isn’t decorated as lavishly, no peacocks and silver tableware.

Gilderoy Lockhart is a virgin. He’s gay, closeted and never found the right man. He’s also worried about his hair getting messy. Gilderoy smells like a very sickly sweet, sugary vanilla perfume. He’s always on a diet but the little cakes and chocolates always win so he wears a girdle to nip in his waist. House is decorated in rococo style, gold and pink. His biggest fear is aging and he desperately clings onto what’s left of his boyish looks. He’s a shameless flirt and mostly likes to flirt with plain witches, who give him the most excitable reactions, but the only thing he gets out of it is validation.

Sirius Black always wears the same leather jacket/old scuffed up jeans. That’s how I see him, that old rocker look. When he was younger he wasn’t afraid of some eyeliner. Wears Muggle style clothes exclusively as a fuck you to his family. He doesn’t let many people get close but once you’re in, you’re in for life and he’s the most loyal friend. Has permanent stubble or five o’clock shadow.

Remus Lupin is bisexual, Remus feels his best when he’s on the couch with people he cares about, blanket in his lap, a mug of hot cocoa in his hands. Remus doesn’t feel comfortable in large crowds or speaking in public but being a teacher helped him grow out of some of it. He’s attracted to outgoing, fun-loving people who’ll get him out of his shell a bit.

Oneshot about Gilderoy Lockhart and Severus Snape <3

Pasting back and forth in his classroom, Severus internally groaned when he realized he forgot his quill at the staff room. Mentally deciding whether or not to go and get it, he decided on the latter. Taking long strides to the door, Severus opened it and walked down the hall with his cloak following.

Children who were laughing and joking around with their friends were now silent and frozen when Severus walked pass them. Severus internally smirked knowing he had the power to shut up children with just his presence. Stirring pass the students, Severus reached the staff room, and quickly entered not wanting to spend extra of his precious time.

In the staff room most likely writing letters back to his adoring fans, there was the Gilderoy Lockhart. All dressed up in the bright colours that made Severus want to gag in disgust. The soft lavender robes sat nicely on Gilderoy and his messy yet nicely groomed golden hair curled around his face like a shield. His eyes sparkling with anticipation on what to write next. Shaking his head, Severus scolded himself for noticing these things.

Saying nothing, Severus walked to his area from earlier and picked up his quill and then tried to leave, empathize the tried.

“Oh hello Severus, I barely saw you come in with all these letters I have to write back to. You know I get so much fan mail everyday, it’s quite hard to keep up with it all. Especially all the suitors flirting with me, or trying to court me through letters.” Gilderoy rambled, not taking into account that Severus was mentally rolling his eyes.

'Only this dunderhead would blatantly talk about himself with no hesitant.' Severus thought while glaring at Gilderoy.

"Excellent." Severus dismissed, not wanting to linger on their conversation any longer.

Lockhart continued to talk about himself like he was the center of the universe, which (spoiler alert) he isn't. However the way his words fall off his tongue as he speaks with passion of whatever it is that he is talking about, sparks something inside Severus. Severus so greatly wanted to shove Gilderoy's words back in his throat and continue on with his miserable life. Due to his unfortunate condition of having a slight interest in Lockhart, those ideas shut down as soon as they started to spiral. Severus was pulled out of his thoughts as soon as he felt a hand on his.

"So how about it?" Gilderoy asked as he placed his shinning pearls on displace with his smile.

"Hmm...sure." Severus nodded while making a curtain of the world with his hair in his face.

"Great, I will see your handsome face down at my office at ten." Gilderoy winked as he excused himself and skipped out the staff room as he always did.

Severus blinked a few times to make sure what he just agreed on, did not actually happen. But because he has the greatest luck in the world, it seemed what it was.

Time passed and it was five minutes until ten o'clock and Severus was outside of Gildeory's office and his palms were unsurprisingly sweaty. He tried wiping them off on his trousers but alas it did not work, although it was not like he expect it to.

Severus softly knocked on the door and his face went back to its neutral state. A blank slake with possibilities to change the way he faces you. Tangled in his thoughts once again, he noticed he has been daydreaming quite often and too much for his liking.

“Ah Severus! Three minutes early, I love a man who’s punctual.” Lockhart laughed as he dragged Severus inside by the elbow.

Gilderoy led him to a seat in front of his desk and make a set of tea appear in front of them. “I believe you took your tea black..am I correct?”

Severus nodded and gave a brief thanks in response as he slipped the warmth. Though the rumors might have it as such, Severus absolutely hates the cold. He glanced over to Gilderoy and noticed how much milk he was pouring inside his own cuppa. Severus let a brief face of distaste before putting his mask back up and not knowing how much longer he would be trapped in here.

“Ready to get started?” Lockhart stated as he gathered a few papers together from his desk.

Severus wanted to say yes, but he couldn’t. Not without noticing what in the bloody hell, he had actually agreed to. He thought about straight up asking Gilderoy what he was here for but decided to casually mention it. “Remind me what my presence is required to do?”

Gilderoy laughed in response and shook his head backwards, “I knew you weren’t paying attention. Too much going on in your head, Severus?” Lockhart purred as he placed his chin in the palm on his hand as he settled into his lounge chair.

“You could say that.” He replied with a raise of his eyebrows. “What do you want, Lockhart?”

“Oh and here I thought we were finally on the first name bias.” Lockhart pouted, as his golden curls wrapped around his face.

“Spit it out Lockhart.”

“Fine, fine. I can see how pushing you are getting. Would you fancy into joining me for dinner at Hogsmead soon? You know exercise is quite good for you and Hogsmead is just a short walk away.” Gilderoy finally managed to get out without stuttering over his words.

If Severus felt shocked, his face didn’t show it. Even after Roy’s confession, he managed to keep up his mask. And yet something bothered him that someone else could possibly like him enough to piss him off to pieces. Why would famously annoying Lockhart, ask him, poor old snarky Snape out on a date? What could he possibly have up his sleeve? Severus’ long tangents were a habit he never got rid of and seem to block out the world surrounding him…

“Well then…uh I suppose that I will take my leave, if you do not have anything to say. I bid you a fare night, Severus.” Gilderoy’s sweet voice broke Severus out of his trance for a second time but managed to catch him before he left. Alas give it to Roy to walk out of his own room when something goes wrong.

Severus grabbed Roy’s wrist and pulled him to his lap and cupped his face.

“I suppose joining you would not hurt anyone.”

The man, the myth, the legend; Gilderoy Lockhart is a man whose backstory is best described as multiple choice since it changes each time you ask him. The official story is a fairly average one, which is why he’s always preferred to embellish it. The youngest son of muggle Mason Lockhart and his witch wife Madalena Lockhart Gilderoy was raised in rural Hampshire with his two older sisters Lavina and Anika, who were, to his mother’s great disappointment just as normal as his father. His parents had met by chance one night in London, his father had worked at a pub near a muggle football ground and his mother had by chance happened to be in that pub. The most handsome man she had ever met, she told Gilderoy she was proud that they had created three beautiful children, but was clear from the moment that Gilderoy showed magical ability; he was her undisputed favourite, much to the irritation of his father and sisters. In an attempt to ground the Lockhart children in normality, Gilderoy and his sisters attended muggle primary school awaiting their letters to study at Hogwarts that would only ever arrive for Gilderoy.

The sheer attention and adoration Gilderoy received at home, turned him into something of an addict and filled with his own self-importance he desired to be the best at everything. When he couldn’t for obvious reasons tell his classmates his mother was a witch he preferred to lie and say she was an MI5 agent or a runway model travelling South America. As he was young the lies were easily accepted by his equally young classmates, but the older he got and the older his audience became the harder it became.The day Gilderoy received his letter to Hogwarts was the happiest day of his and his mother’s life and the pair spent weeks going to and fro to Diagon Alley picking out the best robes, books and other items money could buy. Hogwarts was fairly anti-climactic to young Gilderoy, starting off as something incredibly interesting before dwindling into as dull of an experience as primary school had been. Starting as a hat stall, the hat went back and forth debating between Slytherin and Ravenclaw before deciding the latter. Intelligence, wit and charm; it was certainly the house for him. 

The issue with being sorted into Ravenclaw was however, that it was the house where generally intelligent people were sorted, meaning the thing that made Gilderoy feel special felt less special when surrounded by his fellow academics. In his mind, he’d be greeted by people fawning over him for his mind and his beauty, as he was already a fully-fledged genius with an exceptional magical prowess. But the truth is Gilderoy was not the greatest wizard since Merlin to walk the halls of Hogwarts and whilst he was exceptional at some things, such as Charms and being a quick Seeker for the Ravenclaw team, he tended to fade into the background unless he felt as though he truly was the very best. He also had to contend with the likes of JAMES POTTER [former rival, PETER PETTIGREW [former rival] and SIRIUS BLACK [former rival] in the year above, which was within itself a challenge. Instead, Gilderoy created other avenues to feel impressive such as sending himself eight-hundred cards on Valentine’s Day or appointing himself head of the school newspaper after RITA SKEETER [close friend/colleague] graduated so he could write puff pieces about himself. 

Upon graduating, Gilderoy was not considered a popular student, though he did leave with a few good friends including DAVEY GUDGEON [close friend] and ANTONIS MCLAGGEN [close friend] and had achieved small notoriety by carving his signature in twenty foot long letters into the Quidditch pitch before leaving. Finally out into the world Gilderoy was ready to make his mark and he knew exactly how he was going to do it. Procuring a job at The Daily Prophet due to his friendship with Rita Skeeter, Gilderoy began life as the associate of famed reporter ELIAS SPENCER-MOON [former boss], travelling around Wizarding Britain interviewing famous sorcerers about their escapades. It was a brilliant first job for a young wizard and Gilderoy learned a lot from Elias before yearning to go out on his own. Quitting his job at The Prophet who refused to advance him, Gilderoy went out in search of people he could interview with the view of selling their stories to Witch Weekly. Gilderoy had always had a talent for memory charms, he had casually been using them on his colleagues at The Hogwarts Gazette every now and then to make them more susceptible to his wishes, but the thought had not occurred to use them in later life till he travelled to Ireland to interview his first solo speaker. 

Sitting across from a frightful witch, Gilderoy listened as she detailed the tale of her defeat of The Bandon Banshee and found himself distracted. She was a horrible storyteller with not an ounce of charisma to say she’d defeated such a horrible creature. Without a second thought Gilderoy waved his wand and her mind went blank and later that day he began work on his first column which would become the beginnings of his first book The Break with a Banshee. The editor of the magazine TOBAIS MISSLETHROPE [friend/former boss] ate up the column and seemingly overnight he became a celebrity. He developed an easy method of working, taking a few months here and there to travel, tracking down an accomplished sorcerer, tricking them into revealing how they had defeated a creature or saved a town, wiping their memory and writing it up in a column for the magazine. The columns were filled with self-promotion and embellished with in great detail, but Gilderoy found his audience devoured them and began turning the columns into books which became best sellers around the globe, but particularly in London. Aged only twenty-five, Gilderoy has accomplished a great deal in the eyes of the wizarding world, but for him there is always a mountain still to climb. 

When BARNABUS CUFFE [boss] offered him a contributing editor position at The Daily Prophet, Gilderoy grinned like a Cheshire Cat. His former place of employment was back cap-in-hand dying for his attention and Gideroy was more than happy to give them it. He continued writing his famous column, now for The Daily Prophet, but suddenly found working at a newspaper instead of a magazine was much better for listening out for the biggest stories and who he could likely target next. Although his stolen tales of heroism are readily devoured by his readers, another story is capturing the attention of Wizarding London and it is that of a mysterious dark wizard who is allegedly gaining followers. With the Ministry not wanting to cause panic, the story is still strictly not to be published, but Gilderoy would love nothing more than to break it and hopefully find and wipe the memory of the person who eventually defeats him in order to take the fame that goes song with it. Having been assigned QUIRINUS QUIRRELL [colleague] for help with research, Gilderoy will stop at nothing to get to the bottom of this story, including annoying all of his colleagues EMILIA GREY [colleague], EDWARD TONKS [colleague] and a very suspicious ELIZABETH BRAITHWAITE [colleague] in the process.

About:

Gilderoy comes from a family where him and his mother are the only ones with magical abilities. His father is a muggle and his older sisters are Squibs. His mother adored him more than any of his sisters, and this, combined with his wizardry and admittance at the London School of Witchcraft, fueled his vanity like a weed. But in their excitement, Gilderoy and his mother forgot that London School of Witchcraft was a schools for all British and Irish wizards, and thus his entrance to this school with the rest of the students, was in his opinion, incredibly uninteresting.

Gilderoy attended London School of Witchcraft when he was fourteen and had a pretty good idea of what he had expected when he arrived there. It was not at all like he imagined. He had hoped for stares and whispers, because he saw himself as a full-fledged genius with great magical capability, and he was pretty capable - his talents would improve over time - but he was as average as any witch or wizard in his year at the time.

Gilderoy is resourceful and uses his charm and good looks, alongside his flirtatious nature to get what we wants. He flirts with everyone and is pretty harmless, he wouldn't force himself on anyone and finds the idea of that disgusting.

what was their family life like ? the eldest adopted child of harold finch-fletchley and kim dan bi / danielle finch-fletchley. he was well loved and cared for along with his younger brother, tristan finch-fletchley. his parents were apprehensive when they found out he was a wizard at first, that was until he brought home gilderoy lockhart’s books to his mother. 

what was their childhood like ? his childhood was all sports, private schools, and all the latest toys. he excelled at soccer and was heartbroken when he found out that it was not a sport commonly played by wizards. he got on well with his little brother and they discovered justin’s magical abilities together when he made flowers in their roof top garden bloom during the winter. it was their little secret until he got his hogwarts letter. 

what were they like in school / as a student ? although justin struggled with his magical subjects, he was very hardworking and earned himself decent grades. he was affable and friendly, getting along with almost everybody in hogwarts and not just those in his year. he juggled learning magical subjects and muggle subjects althroughout, knowing all along that while he was a wizard he would eventually return to the muggle world to work. what were their views of the war ? justin understood prejudice well, he saw it everyday in how his father’s business partners treated him and his mother. they were more lenient towards tristan, who was half white, but prejudiced nonetheless. he had expected the magical world to be free of it, a place to escape, but he was of course very wrong. it made him fearful, and while he eventually gathered the courage to join dumbledore’s army, he still felt on edge up until he went into hiding. 

where were they during the battle of hogwarts and why ? he was in south korea, hiding out with his maternal grandparents along with his brother and mother. his father, who insisted on being left behind in england died that year not by the death eaters, but by cardiac arrest. 

what are some challenges they’ve had to face as a consequence of the war ? guilt. he feels guilty for running and for not coming back to fight in the battle. it makes him ashamed to show his face in the wizarding world, and up until recently he had only met with his friends in muggle friendly places. as of late, he’s dipping his toes back into the magical world.

what are they doing now ? he’s taken over for his father and is almost always busy. however, recently, he’s been allowing his brother to take on more of the responsibilities. he’s finding his way back to his old hobbies and working on forgiving himself for not having done enough.

how have their views changed ? he still has this nagging feeling as if the evil hasn’t been completely eradicated. as he steps back into the magical world he can still see traces of prejudice.
