This was a scene that Byleth could go on without repeating over and over again, but alas, the flow of time is a fickle thing, and the loss is necessary. Countless times, they had tried other ways to snap Dimitri back into reality, only to fail in the end. This was the only way to succeed.
The rain was warm, unusual for this area, but it made it seem like the heavens were weeping for the loss of such a great man and knight. Perhaps they were. Byleth certainly had the first few times they lived through it. But now their grief has been replaced by a determination to end this cycle. To have this be the last time they watch as Rodrigue sacrifices himself in order to save Dimitri. Let this be the final version of this particular encounter.
The sky grew darker as Byleth waited, the rain soaking them to the bone. They would continue to wait as long as needed… He would come. And soon, just as many times before, the soon-to-be king rounded the corner, and they stepped out of the shadows into his path.
“What do you want?”
His voice was harsh, almost intentionally so, as if Byleth’s mere presence was an annoyance. The first times they heard it, they flinched and held their tongue to placate the prince. The times after they had responded with anger or indifference. They all worked out in the end, but none were right. But now…
“I know where you’re going. You don't have to do this, Dimitri.” Their voice remained calm, even as anger flashed across his face.
“This isn’t your concern!” Dimitri spat out. “Get out of my way. Now.”
Byleth simply glared as he menacingly stepped closer. If one thing remained true, it was that Dimitri would never harm them. He could act like it was all he wanted, but they knew the truth.
“Going to Enbarr will not fix anything! Do you really think it will appease the dead? Or will it simply add Edelgard’s corpse to those that haunt you?"
“Do not speak of that vile woman as if she is a friend! It is their voices that demand her head! Only then will they finally get to rest peacefully. Don’t speak of matters you could never understand."
Dimitri took a moment, seemingly to compose himself. His anger had faded slightly, making way for something else. Something different. Grief? Was he perhaps finally letting himself grieve for his losses after all these years? Or was it simply resignation?
“Death…” He continued, his voice becoming thick with emotion. “Death is the end. No matter how much lingering regret a person has, after death, they are powerless. They cannot even wish for revenge, much less seek it out. Hatred. Regret. Those burdens fall on the shoulders of those who are left behind. They fall to me. I must continue down this path! And it is far too late to stop... You know this much already."
Byleth’s gaze softened as they watched his anger bleed into resignation and acceptance of his self-imposed fate.
“But you don’t have to do it alone. You’ve got me and so many others! You don’t have to throw your life away in the pursuit of revenge! Surely there is-“
“There is no other way! That is merely the logic of the living. It's meaningless. Those who died with lingering regret... They will not loose their hold on me so easily.
“But you seem to have all the answers... So tell me, professor. Please, tell me... How do I silence their desperate pleas? How do I... How do I save them? Ever since that day nine years ago... I have lived only to avenge the fallen. It is the only thing that keeps me alive... My only reason to keep moving forward...”
Byleth let out a soft huff of laughter, mainly out of nervousness. “I haven’t been your professor in a long time, Mitya... I was hardly qualified to be that in the first place, but even I know to not deny the Archbishop. But you’ve suffered enough. You must forgive yourself; move towards accepting the past and embracing the future.”
“But then who…or what…should should I live for?”
“Live for what you believe in. Live for yourself, and if you can’t do that, then make me the reason to keep on living.”
“What I believe in..." Dimitri shook his head slightly and turned his face up towards the sky. “Rodrigue said the same thing. But is it possible? I am a murderous monster. My hands are stained red. Could one such as I truly hope for such a life? As the sole survivor of that day, do I... Do I have the right to live for myself?”
Byleth placed a gentle hand on Dimitri’s cheek and turned his face back towards them. “No one’s hands are ever truly clean in this world. Asking that would be the same as asking me if I deserved the life I live. Each day you continue to live serves as proof that you deserve to live and live for yourself. And if you ever forget that, you will always have me to remind you.”
“I’ve got you…” Dimitri whispered as the professor pulled him into a gentle embrace. As he returned it, Byleth began to softly hum an ancient and gentle song. “You’re… You’re so warm… Have you always been?”

Thinking about which Doctor each group of Danganronpa Doctor Who Companions would best be matched to, and I feel like Byakuya and Makoto would be GREAT with Nine. Like, the banter between Nine and Byakuya would be great, and Makoto's optimism would be a good influence on both of them. Nine would fully encourage the degree of sexual tension Makoto and Byakuya generate.
Kaede and Ryoma should be matched up with Eleven, based primarily on my knee-jerk feeling that Ryoma should not be around Nine or Ten. Actually, I feel like Nine would get along well with Ryoma, but his feelings from the Time War are too raw. I think Eleven is kind of where the Doctor needs to be for there to be a productive amount of friction between him and Ryoma. Ryoma's despondent outlook and Eleven's kind of callous "Fear me; I've killed all of them," energy would, I think, react together in an interesting way and introduce the possibility of them pulling each other out of their bad coping mechanisms, whereas I think Nine and Ten would be a bit too matchy with Ryoma. Kaede could get along with any Doctor, though she and Eleven would be a terrifying pair, as far as their reactions to attractive women are concerned.
Sonia and Akane should be matched up with Ten. People would constantly mistake them for a throuple, and I kinda don't hate it. Seriously, just imagine Ten doing those sad "can't save everyone" eyes and meanwhile Sonia's doing her determined arm flex. Ten doing his delighted "this is a new experience" look and Akane running past him to a banquet table of alien food. Also, despite him being a nine hundred year old alien with two hearts, Akane would forever think of him as a kind of wimpy guy she needs to defend in physical fights, and there's a nice 50/50 split between times she's saved him and times he's saved her. Sonia is the "stop wandering off!" companion, and Akane is the "stop touching things!" companion. They could get along with Nine, too, but they should be kept away from Eleven at all costs. (Though that's more because Moffat's writing shouldn't touch Akane with a ten foot pole.)

Despair Arc Review
Well, there's no hope of this one being spoiler free, because what I mainly want to talk about is the linchpin that holds the plot together. This Despair Arc is a great example of how brainwashing is an acceptable answer sometimes… but not in all cases.
First things first, I've really been enjoying these 3 season threes so far. But enjoyment isn't always enough for a recommendation. I have to classify this one under 'Mixed Feelings,' because the Danganronpa franchise has always had one big issue… That issue being that you really can't enjoy it properly without going all in. You have to play the games AND watch the anime to get the whole experience. And I believe an adaptation should be able to stand alone, so that's a failure on its part.
You can technically get the whole story of the first game through the season one adaptation… but in a way that's really rushed and unlikely to endear you to the characters the way the game does. (Made a whole separate review for that season, so I'll try not to repeat myself here.) But the second game never got an anime adaptation, and I really don't think you can properly enjoy this arc without already knowing these characters through the game. Feel how poignant it was to step back in time and see the happier days where they all started, knowing that it all falls apart… But the reveal at the end of game two that the flawed but loveable group of kids we'd gotten to know through the simulation was actually our main villains spurring on the world's destruction out in the real world made them super intriguing. It definitely got me excited to see exactly HOW it all falls apart. Which brings us back to the brainwashing.
So. When is brainwashing okay?
For the nameless, faceless lackeys who jumped on board? Sure. The story's plausibility was always a bit of a weak point in the games. They literally just brush over it when the apocalypse is introduced at the end of the first game, don't even try to give you an explanation, because they clearly couldn't find a way to make Junko's followers make sense. Mass brainwashing kind of makes sense. (Though, for the other members of the reserve course specifically, the school's attitude and policies were truly fucked up. I feel like there was enough fuel on that fire that brainwashing wasn't exactly necessary but… Nameless, faceless. Enough said.)
For a character like Chisa, who really embodied hope? Okay. There was no believable way that Junko was going to win her over. And it became important to the rest of the story even happening that Chisa be convinced to defend her to Munakata, convince him that she wasn't behind it after all.
But for the rest of the class, the Remnants of Despair? Absolutely not. It's really important to note that the group of kids in the second game felt more openly flawed than the kids from the first game. For a lot of people, that just made them more relatable, was part of the reason why the second game was so well-loved. The characters were more rounded and just more interesting overall. But they were flawed as hell, practically bubbling over with their various insecurities. Many of them had been abused so regularly throughout their lives that they didn't even realize that they deserved to be treated better. I have never seen a group more ripe for being manipulated. So to fall back on a deus ex machina like brainwashing for THEM? Unforgivable. I get that they probably didn't have time to show Junko winning each of them over… but the material was there. They should have made time for it.
That aside, I did really enjoy the Despair Arc as a whole. There were a few other flaws. The way they chose to characterize Mukuro was really disappointing. And I'd really hoped to see more of Junko and Mukuro interacting with their class but… not enough time. I get that. It was satisfyingly brutal. I liked seeing the drama with Fuyuhiko's sister's death play out and learning how it influenced Hajime's actions and mindset. And Chiaki's death was wonderfully horrifying. The Danganronpa franchise may have its flaws… but it's never been one to pull its punches, and I love that about it.

CharaMani week 7 (last LI route + finale)
spoilers (obviously)
Dazai route
This route felt great to play after Haiji’s route/BEs and Gyoubu’s route, as it could almost work as a happy ending (aside though it doesn’t contain the full reveal). The feeling of triumph and then pure joy and catharsis when Dazai said “It’s our victory” and the scene changed to the tea party background asdl;fkjal;sdfjdkal !!!!!!! A lot of the other characters’ interpersonal conflicts get some sort of resolution here which is nice to see. Banjou and Sena reconciled; we talked to Akase about how he felt betrayed by Dazai; there were also some nice moments with Ebana.
The conversation with Akase gave us something that I feel like I’ve been looking for since it’s a danganronpa-esque game, which is people finding their own way to reconcile wanting to trust someone while having reasons to doubt them. It felt like the game finally underwent a rite of passage. Sena’s decision, that she was doubting someone in order to trust them, definitely felt familiar, a classic viewpoint for these games. This is also another way that Dazai’s route feels like a culmination of the others; while in Gyoubu’s route the solution to the belief/doubt dichotomy was for the responsibility to be split between two people (Gyoubu doubting so Sena could keep believing), here each person has to grapple with both sides themself. Also, throwing this here: just like the characters, I totally forgot about Akase’s goal to bring the Producer onto their side. More things that the game managed to bring full circle!
Sena’s relationship with Ebana also improves. I liked how they connected over trying to recover their memories, and the respect and acknowledgement he showed her when he said that she was capable of remembering, something he was unable to do. Honestly I think those interactions endeared me to him much more than what I saw in his own route, but probably because the misogyny thing wasn’t in the forefront here.
In general, Sena’s relationship with the group is improved as she stops hiding her visits to the exiles. It was such a breath of fresh air to be recognized and appreciated for what she was able to learn by maintaining a relationship with the others. Even Gyoubu pointed out, he specifically chose Sena as a witness since she was the one most trusted by everyone. Also Banjou has SUCH AN IMPORTANT MOMENT when he defends her by saying that she’s the only reason they have any of the critical info they’ve learned about the exiles, so they should entrust the investigation to her. HELLO???? PERFECT RESPONSE. BOTH SUPPORTIVE AND COMPASSIONATE, YET LOGICAL AND CONVINCING. Banjou is an absolutely insane character because he exhibits some of the only realistic, reasonable behavior in this game, and also some of the most realistically abhorrent! That realism is a double-edged sword; it amplifies both the good and the bad of what he does, which I think is why he can induce such polarizing opinions (even in the same person, i.e. me). Stopping now before I completely derail this from a Dazai route writeup.
Okay, so the group finally appreciating Sena. At the same time, now that they see her value, Iochi absolutely jumps on the chance to use her even though Sena feels uncomfortable being a “spy”. Honestly, I felt a little uncomfortable too at just how blatantly Iochi switched over to using Sena. Not a criticism of the writing; the opposite actually, since this is just Iochi’s pragmatism at work, and they’ve found a new, very effective tool at their disposal.  But it’s so bold of them to just assume that Sena will go along with whatever they say, even if they have been taking the lead on investigations, especially since chapter 8.
Gyoubu in this route: ULTIMATE WINGMAN?? Honestly there was so much of him, especially since he’s your investigation partner when Dazai just peaces* out for half the route. He and Dazai really are interconnected, and I adore his and Sena’s interactions as well. I really think he’s the best LI for Sena in terms of who she can work together with as equals. And his OTOME HEART?? Pls I just KNOW he has a whole list of shoujo tropes he’s always wanted to try out… we’ve had lending his jacket, kabedon, the bento… He 10000000% tries to give Sena his second button at graduation, this is canon, argue with a wall. (Dazai sees this, snatches it out of his hand, and yeets it into the street. Sena has not noticed any of this happening because Banjou is busy trying to get her attention and trying not to cry.)
Also, Gyoubu's everyday clothing sprite. ALDKJFALKERMAD;LAKSEJRLKAJKLF SDFLKLDKJA;LKEJRKAL
*After reading Dazai’s short story, I’m realizing he leaves for so long probably because he had already made his half-confession, and then reaffirmed his conviction to send her home however he can.
Dazai: What is there to say? Anyone who’s played the game, Knows. He’s really just the perfect LI TTTTT I guess if anything stood out to me, it’s his motivation for bet. It’s selfish, but at the same time… can I really think badly of him for believing in Sena so strongly? And since she herself would have wanted to remember him and be with him again?
Also he is such a legend omg. I’m just trying to imagine what last round was like; no allies, no clues from returning cast members, and they weren’t told that there was a Producer among them so did he just figure it out?? Truly protagonist energy.
Okay, intermission before true route thoughts: speculation that was, uh, Not my best work :’)
Dazai mid-route realization: I had (mistakenly!?) assumed that the Sena’s missing memories were also because she was in the last round, which has.. a lot of plot holes lol. I think this was because I had assumed that Arcadia was the only time she would’ve gotten to know Dazai, since him being a classmate wasn’t really something I had fully considered and thought through. But anyway, many of the issues are resolved that way. So I guess the whole “leaving Sena behind” thing was that by being part of broadcasts(/taking on role of Producer…?), Dazai left her behind in the real world?
COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT THE ADDITIONAL BET. WHY did I not make a note of that. GAH!
Did not properly divorce the concepts of “being the Producer” and “being a trustworthy person” (and didn’t want to suspect Dazai of anything. Wow I really can’t say anything against Akase and Sena’s reactions throughout the game) ← this was the root of many of the things I couldn’t put together, even though in retrospect the clues were all there
Assumed that extreme care and kindness was mutually exclusive with putting Sena in the position of being a cast member, and underestimated guilt as the driving force behind that (Chigasaki and again with Dazai, really fooled me twice so shame on me)
Did not connect Dazai’s unwillingness to speak with literally being unable to (which we had already seen with Chigasaki)
Thought the Producer had to be intentionally putting the cast members through all that suffering, even with Gyoubu’s hints otherwise (that the Producer isn’t the real traitor, and
Previously I was trying to reason out how the Producer can stay hidden and I even said this: “although I guess it has to be a different Producer each time, or they can take a different name/appearance” *facepalm* I also should’ve considered erasing their memory as a way to conceal his identity, as that’s a tactic that was proven to be used.
Dazai being the (current) Producer should have been clearer after Haiji’s comments about winning his bet against “that guy”: Haiji’s not the Producer, therefore the person he made the bet is the Producer; the bet is implied to be about memory, and Dazai’s the one who was forgotten, so Dazai is likely to be the other party (i.e. the Producer)
Hedged my guess and didn’t just say that Haiji was (fully) AI lmao. Especially since part of the reason I recorded it was because I wanted to throw out one last crack theory while I still had the chance, so I might as well’ve swinged for the fences. His otherwise “real”ness was stopping me, but if I considered that the rest of the cast were only there in the form of their data, then that would have cleared the path. Anyway I do still consider that a (rare) win for me lol.
True route:
First thought after playing: that reveal was both exhaustive AND exhausting lol. Overall I’m still impressed with just how much they managed to explain (there are definitely some things not addressed, but I’ll need more time to remember them). The super blatant, literal “Ask me your questions and I’ll tell you the answers” section was something I disliked in Even if Tempest, but the answers here are more thorough and are payoff for earlier foreshadowing, so I’ll allow it.
Honestly I think it went on so long, and tried to cover so much ground, that it looped back into being entertaining. Like, the game is truly, just shamelessly going back and covering EVERYTHING. When random members of the cast started piping up with their grievances (never realized Banjou was the #1 isekaijin advocate but okay?? Just a sudden reemergence of that and his hero plotline) and WHEN FUTAMI AND IOCHI STARTED FIGHTING AGAIN LMAOOOOO. I think the isekaijin is probably the plot point that has the least satisfying conclusion, especially if you try to imagine how Chigasaki must feel…
I guess this is obvious since the locked routes were grouped together and follow from an extra common route chapter, but they really do feel like their own separate entity. Not quite enough to say it feels like a completely different game, but it’s still a pretty dramatic difference. Chapter 8 escalates the situation from the previous common route and includes developments that have permanently changed the atmosphere, mainly that slowly accumulating points is not a viable option and the group split. As a result, we end up seeing character development for some of the cast members compared to their pre-chapter 8 behavior: most notably Akase who can no longer maintain his “trust everyone” attitude, and Sena who’s confronted with the reality of a traitor and has to decide how she wants to proceed. The unlocked routes branched off from a much earlier point in the story, before the stakes had been raised even higher, so they really feel like they’re from a different phase in the game.
In addition to feeling different from the previous parts of the game, the locked routes are also deeply interconnected with each other, especially Gyoubu and Dazai. Each locked LI has a strong presence in the others’ routes, and each LI route contains parts of the truth for others. This makes it feel almost like each LI’s route is extended into the others’ routes, as you have more chances to spend time with them, learn about them, and grow fond of them. Since one of the major issues of the game is the rushed relationship building, I think this effect is part of the reason the locked routes are generally better than the unlocked ones.
The story went in much stronger on its themes than I expected it to. Don’t think I have anything to say about it now, but it’s another thing I’m noting for the replay. During my chapter 8 comments, I mentioned that Sena’s lost memories arose too suddenly as the new main plot point, but after seeing the ending, I think there’s probably enough foreshadowing about memories in the beginning that I may take that back.
True route endings: Chigasaki and Futami in the “happy” end TT I feel like there’s so much to explore there, as both of them violently, abruptly lost major pillars of their world basically. I think the overall difference between the endings was that the BE (where Aster disappears) is a very crude, rudimentary understanding of happiness, like what Aster was following when he was told to end the crew members’ life support: a big happy ending where everyone’s issues are wiped away and everything is perfect.
In the HE, there’s a more nuanced, human interpretation of it where the characters have to face their painful realities, as we see with the ex-Sponsors and how Aster is regularly being interrogated. However, there’s also signs of hope for the future since facing those issues are also the first steps to healing, and Akase’s sisters began showing signs of waking up. Finally, the appeal of the broadcasts, i.e. the core concept of what the “ideal” thing is, has changed: instead of the childish, exaggerated rumor that the broadcasts can grant you any wish you want, the benefit of the broadcasts has mellowed into bringing you a small happiness within the next several days. This is another rejection of a miracle cure that can magically make everything perfect, and instead places the focus on looking toward the future, while living the life you actually have.
Short stories:
Honestly, I felt most of these were underutilized. Why does this game hate letting us see alternate content, like BEs too TT
Ebana, Chigasaki, Futami - felt like I gained almost nothing extra from the scenes from their POV. Futami's is a little better, could put his in the next category.
Banjou, Dazai, Gyoubu, Haiji - I felt like I gained a little extra insight to their characters. For Banjou, it’s mostly the callback to the line about liking something just because of familiarity with it that I found interesting.
Akase and Iochi at least showed us some new scenes. Especially Akase’s short story showing that Dazai explained Arcadia’s final trap to him; which means that everyone besides Dazai who’s chosen to stay behind (Akase and Gyoubu) was somehow influenced by him, and also had a strong enough connection to someone that it overcame the erasure of memories. It also provides an explanation why Akase seemed prepared for that outcome and why he already had some kind of guess as to the Producer. I played his route first, long before any of the Dazai related plot points came to the fore, so it’s definitely interesting to see another layer added to those events. Once again, I look forward to my eventual replay.
Fridge logic and other details that hit me after the reveal:
Futami being at their school was probably so he could spread rumors and/or was contacted by Ebana to return to Arcadia
Different alerts for dramas: The normal ones are a clearer sound and less discordant (ex: the one in the beginning of Chapter 2). The ones that Haiji forces for entertainment have a much harsher sound (ex: the corrupted drama with no characters/script that precede the Haiji route BEs). So far I’ve only checked these, but it’s something I’ll make note of in my eventual replay.
EVERYTHING in the beginning coming back to be significant, often even a second time after you already think it’s served its purpose (Palt, the virus in bangles, Yuki)
The story of the very first sponsor seems like inspiration for the choice that is offered upon reaching enough points: either one person can escape, or everyone but one
The world looks almost exactly like Sena’s city because otomate doesn’t want to make unnecessary assets everything is based on her grandmother’s memories
Fuzuki wanting Aster to call Kayo onee-chan is why he’s so fixated on calling Sena that
Gyoubu ends up sitting next to Sena at school because the desk next to hers is empty… since Dazai was erased……. Dazai giving up his place at her side to Gyoubu was both literal and figurative TTTT
Gyoubu’s boku/ore shows up as early as the end of Banjou’s route when he volunteers to stay behind. He still uses “boku” when giving a bunch of (fake) reasons for staying, like he wants to be there and he hates losing, but switches to “ore” for the line “I can’t go back yet. There’s something I still have to do.” It’s also right after Dazai asked him if he was sure about his choice, so it’s both Gyoubu and Dazai onscreen…
Intentionality with how Sena became the “chosen one” for this game. Dazai chose Sena because of her determination not to forget anything important, not even a goldfish. That determination was because she had internalized her mother’s emphasis on memories, which was also her attempt to remember her own parents even though they were erased. This is much stronger reasoning than I feel I usually see in games, which often just stops at the level of “related to important person”
Akase short episode stuff, see above
Plot holes (very incomplete, there are definitely a lot that I can’t recall right now since I’m processing an insane amount of information. a lot are based on what i saw other people mentioning):
The mole in Info Bureau being unaddressed
That audio clip of Gyoubu at the end of last round that made him seem super sus
Restoring people’s health: I know they mentioned Dazai was fine but still got his eyes checked,, but shouldn’t they have just used that Bangle program they found? Like, say they found older, compatible versions of the Bangle in the Info Bureau’s archives somewhere and everyone is fixed
Isekaijin in general but especially Chigasaki…
Overall: I had a great time! Obviously I got very into this game, as these posts total ~14k words, I’ve made dozens of memes for it, and my brain has pretty much been consumed by it every day for the past two months (and counting). I also used this for JP practice, which extended my playtime, added a level of enjoyment (the accomplishment of . literacy lmao), maybe added a barrier of comprehension, and avoided any awkwardness in Iffy’s translation (oof).
I came in with rather lukewarm expectations about the quality of a mystery story in an otome game, and I was impressed with how much thought was put into the main plot and foreshadowing. I also think they did a great job of spreading out mysteries and clues among all the routes, so that every route revealed new information, but still left other questions unanswered so you were tempted to continue playing.
The characters are the other major strength of the game, as it’s such an interesting cast who have great interactions with each other. For me, this was enough to eclipse the rushed relationship development between Sena and (most of) the LIs, which I consider the biggest weakness of the game. Unfortunately but not unexpectedly, the strain of a large number of LIs in combination with a complex main plot, means the routes are too short for an interesting development of emotions. (For most of them; locked routes kind of play around with this, as mentioned.)
It also frustrates me to no end that there are no BEs for a majority of the routes – it’s my biggest issue with the game besides the relationship development. There are so many obvious possibilities for BEs, and especially with a game that has a dangerous, suspenseful premise, and with the inherent questions (i.e. user input) of the mystery genre, why WOULDN’T you want to show off the grim outcomes?? I guess it helps add some oomph to the few BEs of the game, but that tradeoff is not worth it TT
The MC – I’m actually quite fond of Sena :’) Maybe this is just like Banjou said, I like her because I’ve spent so much time with her, or maybe it’s recency bias, since she really does improve toward the end of the game when she’s determined to find the truth about others and about her memories. I think her conviction about remembering things is pretty nicely characterized, as it impacts the major plot points but also manifests in everyday details of her life; even in the very beginning, she mentioned how she was looking forward to getting a souvenir from their summer trip. And I think there were some moments of really great (but ultimately unrealized) potential with her characterization; in Iochi’s route there was a lot of self-awareness over how her self-effacing for her siblings impacted her, and in the beginning there were a lot of details between her and Banjou that made it feel like they really did know each other like the back of their hands. There are definitely routes where it’s especially frustrating to be stuck with her refusal to doubt others, but since I see that as part of her pre- and post-chapter 8 character development, it’s tolerable.
Other aspects:
Art: overall liked it more than I initially thought I would based on initial glance. Some CGs and sprites look a bit weird, but most are good and there are several gorgeous ones.
UI: It’s fine, does the job. I like the flowchart, wish it would hide unseen content better and was accessible from in-game. My JP-learning self appreciated the neat, sleek font style.
Voice acting: 100/10
Music: The more high-energy songs stand out. OP and ED are super catchy, and from the OST, Pursue, Le Soleil, suspicion will raise bogies, and Future are great at eliciting the atmosphere the game is trying to make. Also, bonus for having character songs (to clarify: not in the actual game, but in extra CDs that were released at some point).
My first impressions of this game were from some fairly mixed or negative reviews. Honestly, I had forgotten most of the specifics of the negative review by the time I actually planned to play it, and I’m so glad I did because that probably would have stopped me from playing a game that I ended up really enjoying. This experience has definitely taught me that if there’s a game whose premise I’m interested in, I should really just experience it for myself or at least see more positive reviews too before writing it off completely.
Also if anyone read all of this tysm ur amazing <333

🌼🐊General Stuff🐊🌼
My name is Alligatia (Gatia for short) and this is my shipping/general posts account!! My other account which I will admit is basically my main but also my self shipping account @floragators
I basically just post oc stuff, anthro art, hot people/monsters, and shipping, whichever work’s honestly. Expect to definitely see a lot of crack ships or crossover ships. That is after all how I got my name because I especially love shipping, either romantically, platonically, queerplatonically, of family-like!!
I may or may not make a list here of some of my favorite crack/crossover shippings but who knows really!
My messages/inbox are always open for questioning so don’t be afraid to!
A bit on me:
I’m Aroaceflux Bisexual and Nonbinary going by they/them preferably! At the rare times she/her
I’m currently 18 and my birthday is Feb 3rd !!
I’m hispanic, half Uruguayan and half Cuban. I was born in Florida too.
I’m a furry/anthro artist and my fursona is a flowergator also named Alligatia. Though if you know from my other account, then you would know I have more then one self insert.
I simp over a lot of fictional characters and do self ship myself with them, which is primarily found on my other account. Im also a huge monster/non-human lover and my taste is very strange indeed
I do wanna make it clear that self shipping and selfcest ARE NOT the same thing. Selfcest is iffy to me and I personally don’t like it so you won’t see any of that here. However I suppose I don’t mind if people do?? Take this with a grain of salt though because it’s something that’s just confusing/weird to me and I would rather not go into a whole debate about whether or not it’s right.
I love horror stuff mainly and did in fact grow up with some gorey horror movies and I do appreciate a great psychological horror
I also have an interest in psychology, art (obviously), reading/writing, and science!! I also have an interest in baking and I’m starting to get into that hobby
I’m into so many fandoms to the point where I can’t list them so if your curious on what fandoms I am in, just ask or even look through my accounts to see. I am also in some dead fandoms, even if ofc, the fandom isn’t relevant I still am! Sometimes my fixations never die and just go into hiding you know? That is ofc, unless I do specifically I am not longer in that fandom (such as Danganronpa or BNHA). Would I possibly post some stuff about them? Maybe but don’t get your hopes up because there are reasons I’m no longer in the fanbase.
I love making redesigns and being creative because creativity is my strive!! Though do keep in mind that me making redesigns ≠ to me hating them.
Here’s an example of some of my artworks:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now obviously I do have Do Not Interacts, which is the basics: racism, antisemitism, zooph*les, anti-lgbt, proshitters, aro-ace exclusives, etc. etc. I shouldn’t have to say this but I do.
Another dni to note is to not try to defend problematic things in certain media (ex. the racist og designs of Yogurt Cream Cookie/Lilac Cookie and racist stereotype of Purple Yam Cookie) and instead criticize and acknowledge it. It’s also completely understandable to just not be comfortable with it at all, I myself got very uncomfortable with it. However I’ll make sure to be aware when posting content related to Cookie Run.

Mae plays Great Ace Attorney Chronicles Post 2
Hi,
I've just this minute finished playing Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, technically, I think the first game is adventures, but whatever. It took a little while to grow on me, and I had to warm up to its systems and characters, but overall, I liked it a whole lot.
I don't know if the main series games are similar, but I liked the whole victorian setting and characters. It was fun and quirky, but didnt get in the way. It manages to be both light and goofy and pretty tense and serious, and it mostly manages to switch tones organically.
There were only five(?) cases I wanna say, but they were all pretty enjoyable, the first two are probably pretty simple and the game likes to handhold you through them, but by the time you get to the last few, and the game lets you of the leash a little, its fun and the different mechanics make you feel like a cool lawyer/detective at the same time. When you trap someone in a lie or expose a contradiction, it feels great, and you feel smart. I think my favourite iteration of this sorta mechanic is in Danganronpa, but there are some cool mecahnics in this one too.
The game is split into two phases, Investigations and Trials. Investigations happen after the crime is commited, but before the Trial. you go to scenes, click on things, collect evidence, and talk to people. All this evidence and information gets collected into the Court Record for later.
Then when its Trial time, you cross-examine witnesses on their testimony. You can "press" them on any of their statements to provide more information, and then when they contradict themselves or reveal something, you can "present" evidence. This then opens up new developments, new testimony or new angles to consider.
The game is pretty forgiving in terms of mistakes, each trial or maybe part of the trial has a certain number of lives, each time you make a mistake, you lose one. If you lose them all, you restart the trial, I think. Throughout my playthrough, I only came close to losing in the final trial.
The other trial mechanic is the Judicial Summation, each member of the jury presents their reasons why they believe the defendent is guilty and then, like in the cross-examination, you can press them on statements or present evidence, or "pit" their statements against each other, causing them to chang their minds and continue the trial.
It's a fun mystery solving game, but it's also a visual novel. There are periods before each crime and after each trial where characters talk and plot happens and stuff. and also during the trials, new evidence emerges, plot occurs, once you get used to that and just let yourself get swept along its a great time.
Mechanically it does some things I dont like, it can be a little too handholdy and sometimes its too strict on what evidence counters what statements, or you dont have the evidence you need until later or you have to wait for your character to figure something out you noticed much earlier. But if you can get used to all that its a fun mystery solving game and its as satisfying as solving a room in Zero Escape or winning a trial in Danganronpa.
It's the first time I've played any game in the series, and I'm excited to play more.
-Mae
PS
I keep thinking of more stuff I wanna write about it, but you cant introduce new information in the conclusion, so maybe some other time. Naruhodo x Sholmes OTP.

thh characters with a crush on you
Tumblr media
warnings: none, maybe some swearing but otherwise nothing major
oH and mentions of murder and death but this is danganronpa so im going to assume u expected as much
a/n: so we kickin this blog off with a bang, writing for LITERALLY THE ENTIRE TRIGGER HAPPY HAVOC CAST LMFAOAOAOAO (excluding hifumi, yasuhiro, and the two despairs doe bc i’ve already made that clear)
also some character’s sections are shorter than others im sorry i just couldnt think of as many bullet points for them *tiktok cry emoji*
edit: I FORGOT CELSESTE FU K SORRY
spoilers under the cut!!
★ 彡 ★ ミ ★ 彡 ★ ミ ★
makoto naegi
when he realizes he likes you, he doesn’t necessarily panic or anything, but he does get nervous
nervous around you, that is
y’all saw how he was with sayaka
if he says anything that might sound intimate then he’ll immediately rephrase it or reassure he didn’t mean anything by it
he really only does have good intentions but his wording just kinda flops sometimes
he appreciates how you listen to him and value what he says
you don't make him feel dumb or inferior compared to a bunch of ultimates with actual talents
he’ll muster up the courage to tell you eventually
let’s hope his luck comes through 😁
byakuya togami
now when THIS man realizes he likes you, he a bitch nigga bout it 😐
he can't believe he fell for a common plebeian such as you
but it was hard not to
the way you preferred to get to the point
the way you were aware of your situation and didn't sugarcoat how you felt about it, although you certainly were nicer with it than him
he's ruthless
anyways
you knew your priorities and spent no time trying to use your resources
he noticed how much you had in common; in you, he saw himself
and we all know how this mf feels about himself 😐
he’ll be quick to defend you in class trials
he won’t realize he’s doing it but he just subconsciously protects you
but just because he doesn't notice it, don't mean the rest of the class brushes past it as well
yeah they on his ass LMFAOO
kyoko kirigiri
kyoko is very good at keeping her composure so she won’t be very obvious
she’ll probably just hang around you more
she’ll also defend you in class trials, calmly
“oh, it couldn’t have been [name]. i remember seeing them in their dorm around the time the murder took place.”
hifumi probably finna say some dumb shit like “aye what was you doin in their dorm doe” but anyways
she finds you respectable
if you have anything to contribute, she’ll let you take the floor
when she tells you, she’s very composed, but also very indirect LMFAO
she’s not too sure on how to express her interest in you but maybe she’ll go about it like “well, [name], now we’ve made it here, would you like to step back into the world with me?” or somethin else along those lines idk
take her hand
pls
toko fukawa
y’all know her whole “master togami” shtick
yeah so 😁😁😁😁
no but fr, toko ofc still has her borderline stalkerish 🧍🏾‍♀️ tendencies
she’ll often find herself staring at you, either in the library or in the morning meetings everyday at breakfast
but she isn’t as straight forward as she is with byakuya
i actually think she’d be mad shy and non confrontational
the whole thing she kept up with him ? yeah, never again
if you approach her first then she’ll be able to get a few words out but for most of the conversation, she’ll just nervously play with her braids
you’ll most likely put two and two together
unless ur a makoto kinnie bc then you’ll have to wait till someone else puts it in place for u but anyways
if you decide to approach her about it, you’ll kinda be backing her into a corner bc she’s just bad at deflecting things lmao
she’ll eventually confess (begrudgingly but hey i mean its better than nothing)
expect much stuttering and a gesture like giving you a small gift
and not to be that writer that uses japanese terms in english writing but toko seems like a tsundere but not really if that makes sense?? so she’d probably shove it in your hands and if you try to say something then she’ll just try to play it off as not a big deal lol
calls u a baka 😍😍
aoi asahina
i know y’all all see how she is with sakura
yeah.
aoi is the kind of person who’d like to spend time with their crush rather than shy away from them
she values you and your friendship very much
bring her donuts
just trust me bring her donuts
she doesn’t really realize she’s into you like that for a while but believe me, she is, the whole time
and yeah i think she’d be nervous to tell you bc that’s just natural but ultimately she’d be cool about it
uh oh looks like we goin for a swim
sakura ogami
similar to kyoko, she’s very calm
despite her big and bad appearance, she really is a sweet girl
she cares for you and your well-being very much
will indeed go on x games mode for you
the way she tells you is very sincere and well spoken
kith her
naow
im sorry this is like the shortest one i couldn’t think of much for her 😔😔
leon kuwata
flirtatious ass mf
and he’s lightskin
so this just cannot go well
y’all know that bit where it’s like the guy yawns and stretches his arms up and then wraps one around your shoulder
yeah that’s literally him LMFAOO
he’s very confident
he was fairly well known with the ladies at his old school so you know he’s rhockin wit it ‼️
but
you feel.. different than usual ??
those girls were just lil flings n dates bc he was nice enough to accept their confessions and it boosted his ego anyway so it was a win win
but you
he was genuinely interested in you since he had saw you the first time
he didn’t just acknowledge your appearance
he learnt about your personality and your hobbies and what you liked and such, and he really cared and wanted to hear you talk about it all
he felt the need to really make an effort to show you how much he respected and had affections for you
he doesn't tell you in a grand way
probably just asks you out to a movie or somethin
he's chillin
mondo owada
you know
for being the biggest, baddest, most respected biker gang leader
or just for being in a biker gang period
mondo’s a huge softie lol
yeah he gets violent but he’s a sweet guy who cares about and is loyal to his friends
so mfs need to be nice to you
or they gettin whooped
when he decides it’s time to tell you how he feels, he thinks over his words and he’s all confident there’s no way you’d reject him but then he sees you in the halls and goes 🧍🏾 LMFAOOO
he’ll push through but it’s like he’ll walk up to you and look away from you because he refuses eye contact and just go
“so y/n, would you wanna.. tch.. come to a drive-in movie with me or somethin’?... dumbass.”
real smooth mondo i think you got em good job
please tease him LMFAOO it’d be so funny
he’d probably yell but you can tell he’s not mad so you just keep going with it
but once you’re done tormenting him, you do agree to the movie, don’t worry 🙏🏾
also mondo would call his s/o doll
that is all
chihiro fujisaki
my fav dude in a dress <3
chihiro would be quite shy, but that’s just how he is tbh so no surprise there
he’s very kind so he’d check up on you often just to see how you are
he cares about you v much
the way he confesses is one that consists of a red face as he offers you a box of candy or something similar
and he’d feel honored that you reciprocate his feelings
he’d be very scared to tell you his secret but once he does, he’s delighted to hear it doesn’t make any difference to you
he doesn’t know how he got so lucky with you
not only because woooo they like me back but also because you like him despite,, well everything about him LMFAOO
sweet lil boy
i’d feel like he’d talk about you to alter ego a lot
and when u meet the program for the first time, he’s like “oh! you must be [name]! master’s told me all about you :)”
sobbing i miss him
kiyotaka ishimaru
okay here’s the thing
if taka were to like someone
i can’t tell whether he’d be more strict because he doesn’t want them to get in trouble (and also so it would hopefully divert any suspicion that he DOES like you since he treats you the same as everyone else, only more)
or if he’d hold back more because he favors them LMFAOO
so imma write a lil bit for both
in the case that he was even stricter:
he’d prefer to be around you because he believes the best way he can make sure you stay out of trouble is to make sure you don’t get into any in the first place
of course it’s impossible to monitor you every second of every day but he does his best to make sure you’re doing well
if he sees you do anything out of line, he’s shutting that shit down IMMEDIATELY
but in the case he let up:
he’d still lecture you but noticeably less than the other students
if your feet were resting on top of a desk, he’d ask you to move them and then leave you alone rather than yell at you and forcibly move them himself
if you notice his behavior towards you in comparison to the other students do not tease him about it he will go as red as his eyes /hj
either way he’s confessing to you with a polite but exaggerated bow while holding out a well thought out letter with both hands
sayaka maizono
she will tell you
idk why but i feel like she’d be straight up lol
she’d make sure she’s sincere
she is the ultimate pop idol and all so she wants to make sure you know that she really does like you and isn’t playing a sick joke on you or anything
ok bc
while i do think she’d tell you
i’d feel like she’d be a little indirect just to see how you feel
like she’d give you a free ticket to one of her upcoming concerts with a kind smile
and naturally, you're like :o
and of course you come to support her
and seeing you smile at her from the crowd and cheer her on was the encouragement she needed to push her to ask you out
for real this time
she asks if you wanna come to a concert with her and ur like “oh yeah i love ur shows!!” bc ur dumb and then she’s like “no i mean.. for another artist” and eventually it hits you that she’s asking you out and ur like “oH YEAH YEAH SURE THAT SOUNDS GREAT YEAH OK” LMFAOO
———
i really hope that this is good LMFAOO this is my first time writing for dr so 😃👍🏾
fun fact i finished toko’s section first and taka’s last 😁😁
and i’d like to thank @mius-imagination @bloodygir n the rest of the discord for helping me figure some of these characters out *simultaneously whips and nae naes*
bye ive been working on this for like weeks this took forever

If you’re still doing the fandom ask game, Danganronpa?
Of course! I'm still taking them and I appreciate this ask! :D
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most): Yasuhiro Hagakure. So many years and I love him with all of my heart. He has such a great design, a fun personality, good character development, and so much more. He's probably one of the few reasons why I'm still in the DR fandom.
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped): I think the closest would have to be Kaede Akamatsu. She deserved so much better and I will defend her with everything I have.
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave): Probably Hiroko Hagakure. I would love it there was more art and content of Hiroko herself. While I do love art/headcanons that focus on her being Yasuhiro's mom and Takaaki's chaotic new wife, I would love it if there was more stuff for just her.
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week): I'd go with Ryoma Hoshi. There's not much content of him but I genuinely love his character and backstory. He's a good guy who deserves so much.
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave): Probably Hifumi Yamada. He's an otaku nerd who can get pretty creepy with his interests. But I don't think he was as bad as the fandom makes him out to be. He's pretty friendly and he does have a noble side to him. Also Tsumugi. She's a mastermind and her "plain" stchick was pretty annoying, but she has alot of depth and potential when you take her role as a DR fangirl into consideration and I personally enjoyed that.
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason): I'd go with Kaito. I appreciate his good heart and how he tried to help his friends, but he did alot of things that I personally didn't like. Such as his recklessness, his toxic masculinity, his refusal to accept reality etc. I think he could spend some time in the plinko. Ouma and Saihara can join him too.
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell): Haiji Towa. Apart from the obvious, he's also an abusive older brother and a shameless capitalist who was responsible for the Monokumas and profited off them both before and after the Despair Wars.

Danganronpa V3 Pregame Headcanons
hey Y’all! I have an imagines post on the way, but in the mean time have some of my V3 headcanons
TW/CW: Almost All Pregame V3 Characters (Excluding Kaito, Shuichi, K1-B0, Tsumugi And Kaede), Mentions Of Abuse And Self-Esteem Issues, Mention Of Violence
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maki Harukawa Maki was always all for mindless violence, and what better place to be violent than a killing game. There were no other motivations behind her audition and she told the team just as much. She was thrilled when they told her that she would be the strongest character, unparalleled by even the martial arts masters of the previous seasons. However she was never told that they would be changing her motivations, making her broken and unwilling to kill. She went into the killing game hoping to come out on a mountain of corpses, to be feared by everyone in the outside world. She got her wish, just not in the way that she wanted.
Kokichi Oma Kokichi was a nervous boy, despite what he may tell you. He was constantly terrified of everything around him, but lied his way through life to convince everyone he was okay. He wasn’t sure why he auditioned for Danganronpa, maybe he wanted a place where his constant fear would be justified, maybe he wanted a new world to recreate himself in, maybe he just wanted an excuse to let it all out and break down. His one request of the team was to “make me more like myself but... better.” They listened to his request, making him more confident and snarky, but his constant lying had become such an extreme part of who he was, that the team kept it. After all, he asked to be himself.
Miu Iruma Miu was hopeless at romance. Well, not like she wanted actual romance anyway. All she wanted was for everyone to swoon at her presence and kiss the ground she walked on. She wanted to be a gorgeous celebrity, known and admired all over the world. The kind of celebrity that you would hardcore crush on for years. What better way to do that then to audition for the worlds most popular TV show. She wanted to be the fanservice character and asked the team as much. They complied with her request, but decided to take it a more comedic route, using all of the worst troupes and making her little more then a desperate mockery. She was the fanservice alright, but she will never be as widely loved.
Ryoma Hoshi Ryoma had been watching the show for as long as he can remember. He had always looked up to the strong-willed and awe-inspiring protagonists. He didn’t really have anyone else in his life to look up to, so he clung to these characters like glue, using them almost as a guide on how to live. “What would Makoto do here? How would Hajime handle this?” When he heard that there were auditions for the new season, he did everything he could to get an audition. When the team asked him about what kind of character he wanted to be, he just repeated over and over about how he wanted to be the protagonist. He wanted to be an inspiration to people. He asked this of them so much that they casted him as a weak-willed character with nothing to live for. They had already chosen their protagonist and his constant inquiries had made them grow petty against him.
Rantaro Amami Rantaro had never had a good relationship with his family. His parents gave him a boat to live on when he was old enough and them seized all contact. He had sisters, in fact he was the only son, but all of his sisters had moved across the world for college and none of them really left on a good note with him. His only chance at a new life, and therefore a new family, was auditioning for Danganronpa, The only request he made was that he be an only child and an orphan. This was an odd request so the team pried for more information, and his story gave them a very interesting idea.
Korekiyo Shinguji Kiyo hated humanity. he hated it to the point of it being an intense obsession. To him, it was full of heartless people who would do nothing but take advantage of him, while everyone else just stood by and refused to believe him. people would get close enough to him for him to consider them family, only for them to shatter his trust and leave him broken. he wanted an escape from it all, and he wanted the recognition that would get people to believe him. he thought auditioning for the show would get enough attention that he could finally share his story, he was desperate to join and he made the team aware of it. He didnt want to be loved or hated, he just wanted to be memorable, and the team happily complied.
Kirumi Tojo Kirumi felt useless. For her entire life she had been told to “get out the way” or “just let me do it, you’re messing it up.” She felt like every time she tried to help, she just ended up making the situation worse. It did severe damage to her self esteem and she ended up not even being able to do things for herself, becoming extremely dependant of those around her. She had heard of Danganronpa, everyone had, but she never thought she would be much good in a killing game. She had no intention of auditioning until she heard that they would be completely changing your personality and give you your own ultimate talent. She went to the audition room and asked to be cast as the ultimate maid. “I just want to be helpful. I want everyone to be able to rely on me for once.”
Angie Yonaga Angie was the type to idolise those with power, and she wanted nothing more than to have that same level of power for herself. She fawned over the antagonists from previous seasons, holding them on a pedestal. She had always been adamant that she would be one day get into a season of Danganronpa and become the most powerful antagonist yet. She wanted to manipulate and twist the other participants to her will, and walk out of the killing game without having raised a finger. She wanted to put herself on the highest pedestal of all, towering above those that she idolised for so long. When auditioning, she tried her hardest to prove how good of an antagonist she would be. All of her talk of manipulation and basically wanting to be a god gave the team a great idea.
Gonta Gokuhara Gonta was a fearless man, which fit his intimidating build. He wasn’t scared of heights, or the dark, or ghosts. He wasn’t even afraid of death, making him a great candidate for a killing game. He had been introduced to Danganronpa when some friends of his wanted to see just how far his lack of fear went. He had been watching the show ever since, always commenting about how they shouldn’t have hesitated and “I would be so much better at this than those wimps.” Upon hearing that auditions were being held for the next season, Gonta’s friend’s held him to that statement and pushed him to audition. The team were impressed with his courage, but were persistently prying for any kind of phobia they could get out of him. They eventually got one. Bugs. They knew exactly what to do with this information.
Himiko Yumeno Himiko loved attention. All she ever wanted was to be the centre of the world and have everyone know her name. She spent her life wishing she had the talent of an ultimate so she could use it to become famous all over the globe. She spent years trying to decide what talent she could have that would give her the best chance of drawing a crowd. She eventually decided on magic, seeing how magicians could awe people of any age. She waited for years to find the opportunity to audition, and when it finally came she took it quickly. She was adamant that she wanted to be the best magician, and she wanted everyone to know it. The team saw the opportunity and made her so good at magic, that not even she believed they were tricks anymore.
Tenko Chabashira Tenko was weak. That was a fact that she couldn’t deny. She could never quite get the hang of fighting and never had any way to defend herself. This led her to surrender easily when threatened, even pushing other people under the bus just so she could escape unharmed. She had always envied that characters in her favourite show, how they were all so much stronger than her both physically and mentally. She swore that if she ever got the opportunity to be in a killing game, she would be stronger. She didnt care how hard she had to fake it, she would definetly convince her classmates that she was not someone to be messed with. She was nervous when she heard about the auditions, but decided to give it a go. She told the team about how all she ever wanted was to be strong and they complied, taking full advantage of the fact that she had no other requests.

hey i noticed you mentioned making that Zagreus drawing into a keychain and while i love that idea, Supergiant has said that they don't want people making merch of their games yet!! they prefer people to support them directly for now. sorry abt that lol, LOVE the drawing tho!!
Oh damn!! No, that’s important to know!
The worst thing about it, is the items are part of a rush order, and actually already being made. ): I’ve run out of some keychains and threw this design in there at the last second so I can restock a bunch of my DanganRonpa stuff.
Either way, I’m contacting the Supergiant support staff to see what can be done, since I’ll have them anyway. Maybe I can send them to the Supergiant people as a thank you for such a great game? I dunno! I suppose we’ll see what they say! But as a small creator myself, it’s definitely important for small creators of any kind to respect and defend each others opinion about merchandise. ESPECIALLY for indie games- which requires a good sinking of financial time before anything can even get out.
I’ll let you guys know the response, if they allow me to share it publicly!

Turnabout Storyteller (My Thoughts on it)
So, I’ve heard a lot of people saying that “Turnabout Storyteller” from AA6 is the worst case in the entire AA franchise. Which I agree and disagree, and is why I will write my thoughts about it (and also to pass the time because rn im having a school test lol)
1. Why I agree that Turnabout Storyteller is bad as hell.
I partially agree with people saying that SOJ 4th case is bad, because the whole case is a filler and also so Athena got more content (Why can’t she just got her own game, Capcom?). The whole thing felt like the first case on every AA game where there’s the tutorial and stuff and the whole build up of the case is ridiculous. And! There’s no investigation it! That case should’ve existed in her own game rather than on AA6 because she already got her character development in AA5! Throwing it all away just for a filler case just sucks, dude. Moving on to Athena’s actions in the trial. She gives up too quickly and she loses faith in her client way too quickly that she needs Simon to remind her? He’s a prosecutor and yet he knows more that a defense attorney cannot loses their faith in their client’s innocence! Athena just acts like a literal beginner on their first trial which pisses me off (Honestly she acts like Sebastian before he got his character development in AAI2). Now about the whole case, like I said before the whole case is just ridiculous, probably more ridiculous than Turnabout Big Top. Geiru killed her master (I forgot his name) because he gave her late father’s title to Uendo?? That’s a really shaky basis to kill someone and moreover Geiru jumped into too many conclusions. She thought her master wants to humiliate/taunt her by making buckwheat noodles (which she is very allergic to) just because she didn’t get the title. And that’s her whole motive to kill. Ridiculous. Now to the defendant, Bucky Whet. You know most defendants that I met in the whole franchise I really love them all. But him? Bucky Whet? Hell no. His sprites are annoying, especially the vomitting one. His whole dialogue is hard to comprehend, way harder than Gina Lestrade’s dialogue! His character design is also such a turnoff for me, the brown hair, the orange hoodie is so.. bad. Only thing I like about him is his skateboard sprite, that’s all. Now that I get that out of the way, I would like to write about my thoughts why I disagree that Turnabout Storyteller is not the worst case.
2. Why I disagree that Turnabout Storyteller is not that bad of a case.
Next thing is that some things I like about the case and things that made my rating to that case a little bit high. First off, of course, is because of the witness. Uendo Toneido. Finding out that he has DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) was something that I did not expect at all. And honestly? It was actually a great plot twist. And seeing Ace Attorney placing that in their game is actually a nice one, and atleast they handle it way better than Danganronpa. His cross examination is also very fun to be honest. Next thing is, Simon. Haha, I’m totally not biased just because he’s my favorite character, no I’m not /j. But Simon’s appearance is definitely fan-service, for Athena. Which I will not complain. Also, seeing Simon liking Rakugo was definitely a last minute addition. I really can’t imagine someone like him would like Rakugo, atleast in the english version. But some people say in the japanese version him liking Rakugo was expected because of him as a samurai and his japanese dialogue. But in the english version? Noo. Also seeing Simon in the witness stand, testifying was also something I like. He wasn’t forced to testify about something that made him traumatized for life (*cough cough* wright and edgeworth *cough cough*). AND also seeing him messing with Athena was also so funny, I really crave for both of their moments as siblings more, (When is her game, Capcom! When? I need to see more of these two!). The comedy relief is also one of the reasons why I kind of like this case, Nahyuta remembering all of the Rakugo stories there is and telling one of them in an ongoing trial was hilarious, even the judge was sucked into the story.
Overall rating for this case for me is a 6/10. Not that bad, not too good. That extra point was because of Uendo and that ends my thoughts on this case. Thank you for reading!

Vampire Nagito Komaeda x Ultimate Monster Hunter reader - Part 1 (Supernatural AU)
Request: Can I get some vampire Komaeda x reader? I loved the Kokichi one and Komaeda is my absolute fave :3 thanks <3
This will be a full series with multiple chapters, not a head-canon or short imagine. Nagito is my favorite Danganronpa character, even ahead of Kokichi.
Part 2 here
Also this will be set in the DR3 anime universe, when they are all just Ultimates at Hope’s Peak before the Tragedy
- Admin Kokichi
“When are they coming out?!” You could hear a girl roar from the crowd before you. It was your first day at Hope’s Peak Academy, and already you could tell that at least some of the crazy rumors about the school’s eccentricities were true. You’d only been walking around campus, getting your bearings before you moved into the Main Course dorms later that evening.
It was a bit odd to see a group of nearly a dozen girls from the Reserve Course waiting at the entrance to the Main Course building, waiting to watch some of the Ultimates walk to the cafeteria. I mean, being an Ultimate didn’t make one worth fan-girling over, right? But maybe you’d have seen their side of it if you weren’t an Ultimate yourself.
~
Jin Kirigiri, the school’s headmaster, was a very close childhood friend of your father’s, as was the school’s recruiter, Koichi Kizakura. It was only natural that they both insisted you go there, especially with your talent. You were the Ultimate Hunter... or... that’s what your official transcripts said anyway. Your real talent was a little more… complicated to explain to a normal society.
Your real and extended title was that of the Ultimate Monster Hunter, just like your father before you decades ago. That was your passion, your focus, but since you were also prodigious in the normal hunting of animals, that was the title Headmaster Kirigiri assigned you. Of course, Kizakura and Kirigiri knew of your family’s hunter lineage and the existence of supernatural beings, most of the higher-ups at Hopes Peak did, what with all the connections and respect the academy had garnered.
Most governments, large corporations and upper-class citizens were privy to the existence of monsters, and those sworn to protect all humans from them, so of course Kirigiri knew of such things, however, he couldn’t exactly have you honing your skills in his classrooms and training yards. The general public would either think he’d gone mad for allowing such activities - training to kill beings that did not exist - or worse, they’d wise up and take notice, revealing the secret of supernatural creatures to the world.
No, no, that couldn’t be allowed to happen, and so Kizakura and Kirigiri had you practicing your crossbow aim on animal-shaped dummies, had you doing general agility and reflex training. Your firearms were used in a high-tech shooting arena that doubled as a dojo when martial arts students arrived for their allotted lesson time.
Honestly, you didn’t even want to attend Hope’s Peak, seeing as Headmaster Kirigiri had made it very clear that you couldn’t use any of your true talent anywhere on campus or even while in uniform off-campus. You also had to hide your face with a helmet or mask of some type while hunting from now on. You couldn’t be associated with or traced back to the academy in any way, should someone see you engaged with a monster and spread word of it before being apprehended by law enforcement. This rule was only made more severe by the fact that some of your fellow students were of the very species you made a living annihilating.
That’s right, Hope’s Peak itself was host to the very rare vampire, werewolf, demon, shapeshifter or other manner of beast. Not all of them chose to be hostile or stuck out like a sore thumb, and hey, if you had the talent, you had the talent. It made you question why you should even give the academy a second thought. It felt like they were mocking you, letting inhuman creatures attend a school they personally invited you to, but your father all but forced you to enroll. He insisted it would be the best for your future, and that there’s no one he trusted more than Kirigiri and Kizakura.
“But if anything… anything at all happens to (Y/N), Jin, I swear on our friendship, I will handle it myself,” he’d said. Your father’s words rung through your mind like a constant reminder. He meant it, too. Your father was the hunter of all hunters, a king of sorts in his circle. Kirigiri knew very well that letting him down was not an option.
You stood on the very edge of the group, as far from the doors as possible but still near enough to the others that you wouldn’t look like some weird loner. You sighed, chuckling under your breath at their chittering. It was all so silly.
“Here they come!” You were startled out of your trance when one out of the whole gaggle of girls before you squealed loudly. You walked toward the front of their group, fascinated by how excited they all were. You were merely curious to see what all the fuss was about. How could they possibly be this worked up about other students their age, just walking to lunch after class? Then again, you hadn’t met any of your fellow Ultimates. Was there some kind of beauty requirement to become one? Huh, wouldn’t surprise me, you thought rather cynically to yourself. This place loves to flaunt its students and reputation.
“Look~ it’s Fuyuhiko!” One of the girls pushed roughly past you, grazing your shoulder. You could practically see hearts in her eyes as she passed.
“Jeez, okay...” you muttered sheepishly and leaned back again. You may be a monster killer, but that only worked out because of the adrenaline rush and the lack of attachment and value placed on your targets. In normal life and social situations, it felt like you were the one being killed.
Great! Now I can’t see anything! You mentally snapped at the fan-girls bumping and shuffling into you with every sporadic movement they made. You couldn't see anything, but you could certainly hear the girls get louder and louder by the second. You were now completely pushed to the side of the group as the girls grunted and hissed like rabid animals.
“And that’s the lucky one! Komaeda, I think! Man, he’s so hot…” A random brunette drooled.
Nagito Komaeda: Vampire
Status: Protected/Neutral
Classification: B
Unique Talents and Powers: A cycle of good and bad luck. All other unique traits under review.
Age: Unknown
Coven or Clan: None
You mechanically recalled little bits and details from your dad’s casework and journals on the most famous vampires in the country. Nagito... yes… you were going to stay away from this one.
The supernatural beings that could pass as human and were deemed not to be a danger to society signed contracts and treaties that allowed them to live out their lives like normal and protected them legally from hunters (much to your kind’s chagrin). They had strict rules to follow, however, and those who broke said rules were prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and taken off the protection list, making them fair game to hunters.
You really didn’t understand why they kept giving the feral savages chances. Erasing the memories of witnesses, victims (if they survived), and their families after each attack or incident was costly and just unfair to mankind.
The girls continued to shout and vie for the boys’ attention. Fuyuhiko huffed, rolling his eyes in annoyance at the fuss they were making. This only served to rile them up further, however. It seemed the tough, flippant, bad-boy yakuza persona is exactly what they wanted. They loved the way he gave them the cold shoulder.
Nagito, on the other hand, was a different case entirely. He didn’t just ignore the girls, he made an obvious show of his disgust for them. He was practically snarling, nose scrunched up as he leaned away from the crowd of them. It wasn’t annoyance at their mewling and squawking, it was something far different. Something like pure revulsion mixed with condescension. But why? It didn’t really matter, as the girls clearly didn’t pick up on his cues, shooting rapid-fire questions his way and reaching out for his sleeves. You scoffed. It was so shallow of them to only like him for his looks and title of Ultimate he held. They knew nothing about him.
What he could do to them if they got them alone. How him could kill them in an instant, and even possibly enjoy that kill.
While you were lost in the abhorrence of your thoughts, Nagito’s eyes had honed in on you, noticed that you were wearing the same uniform as him, and promptly glided over in front of you.
“Why, hello there!” Komaeda stopped right in front of you. You took a startled step back, but he grasped your hand, preventing you from moving any further away. You did everything you could to repress your fear and repugnance, but your hand still shook slightly in his cold, dead one, and you were sure he could tell. He giggled, obviously enamored with your very presence. “I don’t believe I've seen you before, but you must be in the Main Course as well! What’s your name, if I might ask? You don’t have to tell me if you don’t wanna...” Nagito grinned widely, flashing a set of pearly white teeth. The girls swooned beside you. It seemed you were the only one afraid of what those teeth could do. He was deceivingly beautiful on the outside: tall, pale, doe-eyed, and dangerous. His Class B ranking put him just below the most dangerous of vampires, the elite, the royal clans.
“(Y-Y/N). It’s my first day.” Your voice shook as you jerked your hand away roughly. It was hard to feel confident without your weapons on you, knowing there was nothing you could do to defend yourself here. Damn you, Kirigiri.
Your father would be enraged if he knew you had just touched a vampire’s hand so casually. Nagito frowned slightly. He could sense it, the way you didn't trust him, the way you didn't like him down deep inside. He knew you knew something you shouldn't, knew more than the other humans attending Hope’s Peak, and he didn't like it. His brow furrowed in a display of frustration, but that quickly melted away, and he smiled kindly, eyes crinkling at the corners. He would figure out what made you special, even among the Ultimates he revered so passionately. Something was off, and it would kill him if he didn’t figure out why.
“Well, (Y/N)” He leaned down to your height, his face inches from yours, breathing deeply. Almost as soon as he’d inhaled, he snapped back up, his spine stiff and straight. “Oh!” A look of almost painful surprise and confusion crossed his countenance.
“What?” You panicked, looking him up and down.
“Oh, uh, nothing… you smell really good, heh. Sorry, I probably shouldn’t have said that. That’s weird, huh? Wow, I’m really the worst...” he chuckled awkwardly, his hand rubbing the back of his neck in a display of innocence. Your mouth hung open, appalled. How could he be so bold about his nature in public? You knew exactly what he was smelling. The hair on your arms and the back of your neck stood up in fear and vexation. Your reaction told him all he needed to know, and in that instant, he decided he wanted to know more. Nagito was the obsessive type, and you were going to be his new fixation. Why did you know? Who told you of his... condition? “Anyway, welcome to Hope’s Peak Academy. I hope I have the honor of seeing you again.” You could hear the wave of extreme jealousy behind you. The heat of anger and envy for you was thick in the air.
“Enough, Komaeda, ya big creep…” the small but feisty boy cleared his throat before continuing.  “C’mon, if you wanna have time for lunch it’s now or never!” You sighed in relief. Fuyuhiko placed his hand on Nagito's shoulder, pulling him gently away from you.
“Sorry, sorry!” Nagito offered a warm smile to his shorter friend. “I’m coming! I apologize, Fuyuhiko” He turned to you,“See you in class, (Y/N)” He simpered, and continued to trail along behind his friend.
Not if you had anything to say about it…
You were going to avoid that boy like the plague. Just because you couldn’t kill him, doesn’t mean you had to be best friends.

"You wonder, "Who is this?" Yes... I shall make that clear first. My name is Korekiyo Shinguji... I am called the Ultimate Anthropologist."
~*~
Hello everyone, my name is Milo, and today I’ll be doing my best to cover one of my favorite characters in the Danganronpa universe, Korekiyo Shinguji. He is originally from the 3rd mainline game, New Danganronpa v3: Killing Harmony. Since I don’t physically own the game, I’m basing most of this essay entirely on the Danganronpa Wiki page for Shinguji. Please read that if you desire a more lengthy look at his actions from an unbiased perspective since this one leans more towards empathy than hatred. Whoops!
We first properly meet him after talking to everyone else inside of Hope’s Peak. He’s in the main hall and standing away from the doors leading out to the courtyard. When he introduces himself, Shinguji goes on to talk about anthropology and the beauty of humanity. This proceeds to creep Akamatsu out.
Alongside that, in Chapter 3, we are unfortunately forced to see his relationship with his sister. It’s weird and only gets weirder if you spend two of your Free Time events talking to him when you first play as Akamatsu. He’s evaluated that all girls present at the academy would be great “friends” for his sister, barring Iruma and Harukawa. This is because Shinguji believes that Harukawa doesn’t believe in the power of love, and Iruma is just… well, she’s Iruma. Hardly the girl you would want to send home to your parents.
This weird incest plotline is unfortunately present in most Danganronpa games, such as Leon and his cousin (though one-sided on his cousin’s behalf; he didn’t like her), Tsumugi in the Love Hotel (if you consider that canon), and Monotaro & Monophanie (which is then implemented into Gokuharu’s execution, killing them both).
His sister’s name is never disclosed in-game or in any other Danganronpa media, so the fandom dubbed her “Miyadera/Miyatera,” which is an alternate way of reading Shinguji’s last name. The miya character - represented as 宮 - and tera character - 寺 - are both present in Shinguji, 真宮寺. For the rest of this essay/paper, I’ll be referring to his sister as Miyadera, and himself as Shinguji.
I’ll be getting deeper into his mischaracterization later on, but I want to talk about his appearance for now. Mainly, his hair, his mask, and the lipstick he wears. From what we see of Miyadera in Shinguji’s execution, if that is Miyadera at all, we can see that she had long hair, and when Shinguji was turned into a ghost, it was the exact shade of Shinguji’s hair. From here, we can assume that Miyadera looks exactly, if not similar, to Shinguji.
His lipstick and mask are results of representations of his tulpa, Miyadera. Tulpa is defined as “a concept in mysticism and the paranormal of a being or object which is created through spiritual or mental powers.” In much simpler terms, it is an object or living thing that was created/imagined through spiritual/mental abilities. Shinguji gained a tulpa by being beaten half to death by villagers shortly after arriving there. When he was in a state between life and death, he saw his sister, who joined his subconscious and took control of his body whenever his mask was off. It’s why we only see him take off his make once Saihara dubs him the culprit of Chapter 3, and why his voice suddenly took a more feminine tone. A quote from Miyadera, which can be found in the game, is, "Sweet Korekiyo, calm yourself... Their words are all hollow. There is no meaning to any of them... You must teach these ignorant children a lesson."
That statement can be interpreted two ways, one; that she’s trying to calm him down and two; she’s repeating whatever she said to him during childhood. It’s implied that Miyadera passed away from disease sometime before Killing Harmony takes place, which is both a good and bad thing. It’s great because then we have some time frame of how she was and how she acted when Shinguji knew her best.
Whenever I read the quote above, or any of her quotes, to be honest, I am filled with a sense of dread, or even, despair. The following quote especially makes me feel terrible; "Calm yourself, Korekiyo. You mustn't raise your voice. You mustn't stutter. You mustn't lose composure. You mustn't become flustered. You mustn't waver. Look at their horrid faces. This sorry lot is not worth agonizing over."
Have you noticed how she’s setting guidelines on how to defend himself? She’s turning Shinguji’s attention away from Saihara and the trial and to her because she knows that Shinguji trusts her even after all these years.
You might be wondering, “Milo, what the hell does that all have to do with Shinguji?” And I’ll tell you plain and simple: he was abused by Miyadera. Shocking, I know. Having Shinguji rave and rant about being in love with her, only to be a victim? Sadly, it’s very true indeed. Shinguji was most likely groomed and gaslighted into thinking that Miyadera loved him when that was not the case.
Gaslighting is defined as, “[to] manipulate (someone) by psychological means into questioning their own sanity.” From the two quotes I provided, it doesn’t seem to make sense. Miyadera only sounds like a kind, worrisome older sister. Incorrect, I say. She’s emotionally gaslighting him, trying to make him believe that the trial makes no sense and he shouldn’t worry about any of them. I can also bet she used this tactic to control him as a younger person as well.
It’s a well-known fact that children are both impressionable and gullible. If an older sister figure came up to you as a child and told you to do unmentionable things, unfortunately, you might follow her directions. Shinguji states that his sister was a sickly girl who often stayed in the hospital. When she would come home, he’d be at his easiest to manipulate. Why would his dear, sweet, sickly, older sister ever lie to him?
Next, I’m going to be covering his relationships with other students, namely Shuichi Saihara and Rantaro Amami. These will delve further into spoiler territory, so if you didn’t already read the warnings I put in place, here is your extra warning for spoilers for Chapter 3 of Killing Harmony.
To start with, I’ll be exploring his poorer relationships first. Most of the girls fit into this category, namely Iruma, Harukawa, Chabashira, and Yonaga - that means he has a terrible standing with four of the eight girls present at the beginning of Killing Harmony, five if you count Yumeno’s way of dealing with Chabashira’s murder. Shinguji even taunts her once they solve that mystery, stating, “Let me guess, you’ll never forgive me. Himiko, you must hate me so very much right now. Maybe you’d feel better if I was executed by Monokuma…”
Shinguji has a poor relationship with Iruma and Harukawa due to seeing them as “unfit” to be “friends” with Miyadera. He has a poor relationship with Chabashira because he’s a degenerate male, but he still thinks she made a good friend for his sister. His poor relationship with Yonaga is shown in Chapter 3 when Yonaga forms the student council. Once again, I’m making amends to some parts of the characters. I’ll be referring to Yonaga’s god as God, simply because Atua is an actual Polynesian god in real life. Shinguji doesn’t worship any god, and so wants to study Yonaga’s God purely for anthropologic purposes. This displeases Yonaga, who then states that God's business hours are closed for the day. In Chapter 3 when Yumeno brings up Yonaga’s God, he simply asks whether or not they’re done talking about it, cementing his distrust in faith.
Next, I’ll cover his better relationships. Akamatsu isn’t too terribly creeped out by him and instead sees Shinguji as a kind guy who cares about his sister. Akamatsu even apologizes for saying that Shinguji would be into inc*st, this event either taking place in his first or second Free Time event. I’m saving his and Saihara’s relationship for last since I’ll have the most to write about then. Instead, please enjoy the news that in the events of Ultimate Talent Development Plan (UTDP for typing purposes), Shinguji and Amami are actually great friends. In Amami’s first free time event, he tells Akamatsu that Korekiyo has a strong personality, but she’ll be able to understand him plenty if she takes time to. It’s also stated that Amami emphasizes that Shinguji is also the calm and clever type.
Lastly, I’ll be exploring his relationship with Saihara. It’s slightly rocky, if only because Shinguji hasn’t let go of his sister yet, but it’s miles better than his relationship with Chabashira. Slight side note before we begin, I’ll be discounting the Love Hotel scene mostly because I’m a minor and I don’t feel completely comfortable having to watch that simply because I’m writing an analysis. As the game progresses to Chapter 3, Shinguji and Saihara have built trust between themselves. While Saihara still found Shinguji creepy, he [Saihara] never discounted him simply for existing. There was even a point where Shinguji offered to help Saihara communicate with Akamatsu from beyond the grave, though he was turned down.
Korekiyo Shinguji is a misunderstood and somewhat tragic character who usually gets disregarded and uncredited all because people do not like him. However he’s not an “uwu soft twamatized bean <3” either. He’s a strong character who has questionable morals at best and a terrible representation of an abused character at worst.

CIARAAAAA HI CIARAAA HI!!!!!!!!
Another one of the first friends i made on here!!!!
I always thought you were incredibly cool, i remember freaking out when you followed me. You gave me very popular kid vibes, which after meeting you have only gotten bigger.
I was a little scared to dm you at first asking to add you to the gc, but it was one of the best things i probably ever did.
You taught me lots of things i never knew before. Things i know lots of people would consider to be small, but mean and meant the world to me. How to apply makeup, fashion and clothes tips, to really small and silly things like kpop info and Korean words. You tried to answer any little question i had and I'll forever be greatful.
Getting to talk to you, waking up to all those stories and messages. From small to big, they all meant the world to me, they all made me so happy.
You made me feel really comfortable and nice, no matter how silly it was we were talking about. Which is probably just a good indication that you're a wonderful person, no matter what other people think.
You encouraging my art, leaving the sweetest things in the tags, I'll never forget it. I wouldn't probably have even tried streaming if you and Mel didnt try constantly pushing and encouraging me. I'll forever be greatful.
I loved watching twilight, eva, (even though we didnt finish it lmao) and riverdale has been very entertainingly corny. We probably watched all of the dsmp cosplay tiktoks on youtube. No matter how bad or good the things we watched were, they were made millions of times better by the fact you were the one to watch them with me.
Thanks for indulging in the stupid things we did, the rp stuff will always be funny lmao. You playing the first danganronpa and streaming the ending for me to watch was amazing. You buying that junko shirt because of me made my day.
Youve cheered me up when days were bad, even if you didnt know it, you're just such a genuine ray of sunshine. I've got so many good memories of talking with you, even if we havent known each other for long.
Its only fitting that you've made so many new and great friends. You've carved out a community for yourself, and people that care and will defend you. People that will try and help if you did something wrong. You've got a lot of great people by your side now, and that's all because of you, thats all because youre just that good of a person. Im incredibly proud of you.
Even if we dont agree on everything, i know you only have good intentions. You've got a great heart, and so much to share.
There's just no way to put into words how great of a person you are. How much you've made my time on here that much better. Thank you for everything. Love you Ciara
