My Top 5 Bleach Filler Characters, Appropos of Nothing
5. Inaba Kagerouza, Reigai Arc
Tumblr media
Inaba is, simply put, the pinnacle of Soul Society worldbuilding. He's got this long dramatic backstory and a bunch of rage bottled up in his chest, but also a guy needs a paycheck, so he's just been doing the R&D grind for a hundred years. He knows a shit-ton about the Dangai, which is relevant to his evil scheme, but it's also just his day job (also the Dangai owns, I want a PhD in "the Dangai"). No one else in Squad 12 seems to have the least bit of beef with him, even after he builds an evil duplicate of every person in the Gotei. Unlike a lot of mad scientist characters, he's good with his weapon. Maybe he's weirdly jacked under his villainous smock?? Also, his evil scheme was generally well thought out, and took into account the fact that the Gotei is a bunch of buffoons. ngl, I kinda wish his plan had succeeded, if only for the fact that it would probably really piss Aizen off.
4. Ran'Tao, Bount Arc
Tumblr media
Everything about Ran'Tao owns, including:
Sexy glasses
Condemned so hard by the Central 46 that they gave her a kidou seal back tattoo
KIDOU. SHOTGUN.
Stabbed Kariya in the gut
Noped out at the end of the arc because Who Needs the Gotei's Shit?
3. Kuchiki Kouga, Zanpakutou Rebellion Arc I think that when you hear the story about how Byakuya was forbidden from marrying Hisana because she was a commoner, you're supposed to feel this great sense of injustice, like wow! Byakuya actually showed character by standing up for his love! And that's great and all, and then you get the Zanpakutou Rebellion Vintage Kuchiki Bullshit Flashbacks and it's like, oh, the last guy they married into the clan mass murdered a bunch of people and then they had to seal him up in a cave and I feel like that's an important piece of context in the entire Kuchiki Family-Being-a-Bitch-About-Who-Byakuya-Marries debacle.
Which isn't to exonerate the Kuchiki, here! It's very clear that Kouga wasn't that bad before he got pushed over the brink by Kuchiki family machinations. I mean, this is very much an Everyone's The Asshole situation.
I love the fact that they never come out and say that Kouga is Byakuya's uncle, but he's very obviously Byakuya's uncle.
I love the fact that he dramatically cut his kenseikan off with his sword and threw them at Ginrei and they made a gree card of it.
I love that he appears to be exactly Renji's height and has one chunk of hair that is the same color as Renji's and he over-accessorizes horrifically, and at best the Squad Six old-timer's had to be like "Byakuya don't do this to us again" when he hired Renji, and at worst there's a chance that Renji the secret baby that was born after Kouga was banished and he was hidden away in the Rukon so he didn't screw up the succession line but he's actually the true Heir to the Kuchiki.

2. Harugasaki Seizo, standalone episode 313 This dude had a homoerotic rivalry with Ikkaku (doomed, of course, because who could compete with Yumichika?), lost his shinigami powers when he took a blow meant for Ikkaku, and then spent the next hundred years putting his entire pussy into doing laundry for Squad 11. This man invented yearning, even if he did choose the worst possible person in the history of ever as the target of his affection.
Tumblr media
1. Amagai Shuusuke, New Captain Shuusuke Amagai Arc He looks like Ross Poldark. He can't hold his liquor. No one knows who witnessed his Captain's Exam. Ukitake and Kyouraku tried to talk him into a threesome. He was nice to Kira. His bankai was a tuba that made a foghorn noise when it belched out fire. His dad was the shinigami equivalent of a narc, who got done dirty by the Captain-Commander. He fought the Dangai Cleaner and won. I love him more than anything.
Tumblr media
Honorable Mention: Kenryuu and Enryuu, New Captain Shuusuke Amagai Arc Because they are an important reminder that for all the shinigami buffoonery I am forced to witness, day in and day out, some people graduate from Shin'ou, get shikai even, and still can't get hired by the Gotei.

This is close enough for a beggar like him.
Tumblr media
“When Yui turns three…” Satoru turns to look at you with a small smile and a look in his eyes that you know too well not to understand at a glance. “When Yui turns three?” You urged him to continue, “...we make another one. Hopefully, a baby boy.” He pulled you on top of him as you laughed fondly.
“I can’t even count on my fingers how many times you said that already.” You giggled, kissing his blushing face. “I can’t have you forgetting. It’s a must. We make cute babies.” He spoke each sentence in between pecks. “ Yeah, but she’s only 5 months old, Satoru.” You put your head on his chest, feeling him caress your hair.
“I know, but I wanna tell you in advance.” Moments like this make you forget about all the problems and fights that you have with him. “But we’re gonna get married first, of course.” You looked up at him, watching his eyes glimmer. “You’re asking me to marry you?” You poked his side.
“Of course, what else am I gonna do with you?” He flips you over, kissing your neck and chest before attempting to pull the straps of your nighties down your shoulders. “This is for your daughter, don’t even try.” You pointed a finger at his nose as he pouted, “She’s asleep. Can’t I get a sip?” He wiggled his eyebrows at you making you giggle.
“What is going on with you?” He kissed your lips, joining you in your joy. Just two days ago, you and Satoru were screaming at each other’s faces because of how he got angry at you for talking back to his mother. She came into his house, trying to fight you because you got Yui’s ears pierced. You and Satoru agreed on it, but he didn’t like that you ‘talked back’ to his mom.
And now, it’s all gone. Washed away by his touches. Drowned away by his kisses and moans. “Remember when we did this while you were pregnant?” You could hear his smirk as he nibbled on your skin. You're now lying sideways with your hand holding one of your legs up. His strong arms were wrapped around your waist, caressing your lower stomach.
“Gonna put another one here in a few years.” He grunted when you reached for his hair, pressing him closer to you. “Satoru…” His breath on the shell of your ear only made you heat up more. You sobbed as his thrust got faster and harder. “Yeah, you want that.” He bit your ear lightly as you arched your back, whimpering.
You were just about to tell him that you’re close but Satoru got your body memorized. His hand was already trailing down to your womanhood, fingers rubbing on your nub as he coaxed you to your climax and followed shortly after. He finished inside you with your name flowing smoothly out of his lips. You stayed in the same position; with him still inside you as he pushed your legs together.
It was only one of those nights that made you believe that you’d be together until the end.
“...a new one?” Satoru’s voice snapped you back to reality. “Hm?” You turned to him, seeing that he was already staring at you. Yesterday, you and Toji fought. And today, you did again. Is the honeymoon phase they were saying already over? You gritted your teeth. “Are you still thinking about it?” Satoru’s voice was laced with concern as he drove.
Yesterday afternoon, you and Toji were talking about how much louder it gets when there are more kids around. Other than Yuuji, a little girl from their neighborhood named Nobara also joined—a name Yui cannot pronounce correctly but kept saying anyway.
With four children running around the house, you and Toji could only communicate with eyes, teasing like a married couple planning for an addition. You two could only joke around the topic, though, knowing how serious and how big a responsibility it will be.
Besides, your relationship is still young and you would like to get married first before taking a step like that. But marriage still feels pretty far for you and Toji.
“Look, I’m sure he doesn’t mean it like that.” Satoru tried to comfort you. “His wife used to do that stuff and now he’s just sharing it with you.” He explained. You can’t help but feel like you were being petty. The kids had a playdate and you thought that making a bit of juice for their picnic would give them a better experience.
Toji started randomly talking about how his wife had little cousins and she refused to give them juice until they were 5 because it’s terrible for toddlers’ health. And though, you understand this, the way he said it just put you off. You felt like he was comparing you to her and you just didn’t like the way it made you feel.
Before, there were times when he would mindlessly say that his wife introduced something to him or taught him to do something and you would think that he was probably just reminiscing. But now you just felt…sensitive. It just felt like you still had to compete even if there was no one to compete with.
“He’s probably just suggesting.” Satoru tried to explain for Toji, something you didn’t think would ever happen because they’re almost always wordless around one another. “Suggesting what? That I should do what his first wife did? And today he got upset that Yui and I would leave early to go with you.” Satoru sighed, nodding slowly.
Ever since that night, he’s been a lot more calm, more patient, and more careful with everything he does. “We should’ve canceled and moved it another day.” You looked at him, disbelief flashing on your face.
“Y/N, he’s your boyfriend now. It’s not good to leave a fight without talking first, even just for reassurance.” Whatever he’s been learning at counseling is definitely working, you thought. When he first told you about it, you didn't know how to react. Probably because you know that the cause of your problems is not just him. But also his mother.
“I told him we’ll talk later. He just doesn’t like that we have to spend time around each other like this.” Your voice was quieter. To be honest, you don’t know how to deal with that because it concerns your daughter too. “We can…we can just reduce times like this to milestones like birthdays and school events when she’s finally in school,” Satoru spoke, clearing his throat.
“I don’t think it’s that important anyway, Yui will understand that we’re separated soon. She’s growing fast.” You glanced at your daughter as she waves at the passing cars. Satoru’s right. “Yeah, I’ll just…I’ll talk to him about it.” Satoru probably doesn’t want it like that, but nowadays, he’s been…different. In a good way.
“By the way, I have a…my previous car. Do you remember? The one before this.” He asked, “Your car always breaks down. I mean…You can have it. So, you won’t have to take a cab when you take Yui to daycare, go to work, or pick her up from my place.” You can tell that he was nervous to ask you about it.
“Actually, if you want. I can ask Toji, so he won’t think of it as anything.” You looked away, thinking. You’re not the only one who has a significant other here; Naomi might think of it as something too. “You have to tell Naomi too.” You glanced at him through the rearview mirror. “Yeah…” He cleared his throat.
Silence enveloped the three of you for several minutes until Satoru spoke again. “My counselor said it’s easy to mistake comfort for love.” Taking a deep breath, you chose your words carefully. “You can learn to love people and things.” There was a long pause along as you reached his house.  You checked on Yui to find out that she fell asleep.
“That sounds like resignation, Y/N. Love doesn’t need conditions.”  He mumbled, looking at his lap. “Let’s go, she’s getting uncomfortable.” You took Yui’s things before following him inside his house. “Don’t forget her vitamins, Satoru.” Humming, he opened the door for you with your sleeping daughter in his arms.
To his surprise, the lights were on and there, his mother and Naomi sat on his couch.
“You took so long. Did you forget about your girlfriend?” His mother was the first to speak. “Why are you here, Mom? You’re early, Naomi.” Naomi glanced at you with a look on her face that you can’t quite read. There’s nothing sinister about it, in fact, she looked nervous.
“She’s early because she won’t be working full days anymore.” You stood there awkwardly, feeling invisible before Satoru took a step closer to you, “Since she’ll be a part of the family soon, I asked your father if he can take it easy on her workload. Lovers should spend time with each other as much as they can.” His mother continues, emphasizing the word ‘family’ as she gave a mocking glance your way.
She never once considered you as one. Not that you want to be related in any way to someone like her. You scoffed inside your head, seeing Satoru glance at you. “We do spend enough time together.” He spoke, “And why are you deciding for her, Mom?” He took the bags in your hand, “Let’s go to Yui's room.”
“It’s okay, I won’t be staying for long anyway, I just wanted to drop her off.” After taking Yui to an inflatable indoor park, Satoru bought her a Hello Kitty cake just as you were about to go home. The kid was excited to open the cake with you, but you were reluctant because you don’t really want to be around Naomi. After being assured by Satoru that Naomi wasn’t supposed to come over until Friday, you finally agreed.
You should’ve trusted your gut, because here she is with Satoru’s mom, like a cherry on top.
“I’ll take you home, let’s just put her to bed, then we’ll go.” The child stirred in her sleep, adjusting her head on his shoulder, “Mama, cake.” She murmured, probably dreaming about her food. You looked at Satoru, catching him already staring at you and something tells you it’s gonna be alright even with these two people who seemingly want you out of your own daughter’s life.
“We’ll talk later,” Satoru spoke to them, gently nudging you toward your daughter’s room. “There’s literally nothing to talk about, son. We just wanted to make the two of you more free for each other. Can’t have others hogging all of your attention from your lover. She won’t appreciate that. Isn’t that right, Y/N?” You paused, glancing at Satoru.
“With your new boyfriend, doesn’t it irritate you when he uses his time for other things?” You can tell that his mother is trying to elicit a reaction from you. “The only thing my boyfriend does other than work is take care of his son.  And I will never put myself in between them.” Before his mother could even say anything, Satoru quickly took the stage.
“I said later, Mom. Naomi and I will talk. It’s our relationship.” With that, he walked with you into Yui’s room, closing the door behind him, careful not to wake his daughter up. “I’m really sorry. I didn’t think they’d be here.” You took Yui’s shoes and jacket off, before letting Satoru put her down. “I know, it’s okay.” Kissing Yui’s forehead, you could hear him whisper curse words.
“Hey.” You can tell he’s more than upset. This is probably more painful and exhausting to him than you thought. “I don’t know anymore, Y/N.” He turned away from you, running his hand over his face, “This. This is what’s making my life harder.” He gestured towards the door, referring to his mother. “This is what made our life harder.” You caught him saying as he shook his head.
“Just talk to them. Maybe there's a reason for this. She’s just naturally hostile with me.” You shrugged, knowing that he was speaking the truth. “That’s the point. She’s pointlessly hostile and she thinks she can decide for me.” Turning to you, there was redness in his eyes.
Satoru didn’t want to seem like he was asking you for comfort. He refused to give you that before, he’d be shameless if he wanted you to hold him. “Let’s go. I’ll explain to Yui, we’ll call you later.” Blinking hard before opening the door, Satoru knows better than to allow his mother near you. You never told him but he knows that she slapped you when she came to your house.
They fought about it when he went to their mansion. Thankfully, his father backed him up with a speech about protective orders which shut her down. It pained him to be like that to his mom but he can’t just have her abusing you just because she can.
Satoru walked beside you, covering you from his mother. “Satoru…” Naomi called out but his mother quickly spoke, “Doesn’t she have a car? Did it break down again? Ah, like before, when she wanted someone to take her home.” There was no hint of amusement in Naomi’s eyes, probably clueless as to what she was talking about.
“I’m calling Dad to pick you up.” With that, he continued walking, leaving his mother with an angry look on her face. “That’d be good. He will be here to discuss things since he’s her boss. He might even give her a vacation. You and Naomi can go out of the country. Get close, plan things like marriage, children—” Stopping in his tracks, Satoru turned with his jaws clenched.
“You know what? Maybe I shouldn’t leave my daughter here. After all, you threatened to take her away.” Walking back to Yui’s room, Satoru didn’t think twice as he grabbed your hand, making Naomi tense up. “Can she stay with you tonight? I’ll get her tomorrow.” He murmured, breathing hard as he picked his daughter up again.
“You think I’ll kidnap my own granddaughter, look what she’s making you think.” You can hear his mom as you rush to take Yui’s things. Whining, Yui covered her ears as Satoru walked her out of the room with you beside him. “I don’t need to kidnap Yui to get her away, her own mother isn’t even capable, what makes you think—” Satoru cut her off when he stood in front of her.
“I’m filing a restraining order.” He spoke, voice low as he tried to stay respectful despite what he was saying, “Against you.” His mother’s eyes widened in surprise, “Come on.” Ushering you out, and leaving his mother stunned. Opening the door for you, he then proceeded to fix his daughter in her car seat.
“Mama why?” You shushed her, caressing her hair, “We’ll eat cake at home.” You smiled at her, trying your best not to sound panicked before closing the door to finally get in the car. Satoru was about to get in the driver’s seat but Naomi came out of the house and ran to him. Glancing at you, she held his hand, “We’ll talk about it later.” He told her, checking if his mother followed.
“Can’t you just…” Naomi was about to say something but held back, grabbed his collar, pulling him down to kiss his lips. You almost immediately looked away, seeing from your peripheral vision how she put Satoru’s arms around her waist. “Come home quick.” She whispered not so quietly at him. Getting in the car, you wondered if his mom told her about it.
“Naomi…” Satoru sighed, pulling away before looking at you with a concerned look in his eyes as he nodded away at her words. Leaving her, Satoru entered the car and started it. She stood there with a mixed look on her face that screams how irritated and upset she is with the events.
“You don’t have to file a restraining order against her. She’s still your mother.” You didn’t have to say that but you felt like you’re the reason why there’s a gap between them now. “She’s not good for Yui. I can’t have her around speaking about you like that in front of her.” He was breathing hard. “Can you calm down? You’re driving.”
“Sorry.” He muttered, before taking a deep breath. “I hope she won’t be there when I come back. I can deal with it on my own, whatever Naomi and I have to talk about.” He ranted, “I wish she didn’t intervene so much in everything I do. I feel like the decisions I made aren’t even mine.” He rarely talked like this back then. Actually, you rarely interacted like this back then.
“How’s…” Hesitating, he swallowed before continuing his question, “How’s Toji’s family to you?” He asked softly as if the information he’ll get can break him even more. It probably would. “He’s not that close to them, so they don’t really know much about us. I’ve met them twice when we picked up Megumi. They treat us kindly.” You glanced at him, seeing him purse his lips.
“That’s good for you. You won’t have to deal with something like this.” Satoru wanted to say that he’ll cut ties with his mother to protect you; to be with you. But knowing you, you’ll probably feel like it’s your fault and he doesn’t want that.
He’s aware that his mother influenced the decisions he made in the past. Talking to someone about it made him realize how wrong he approached things with you and how easily he let himself be swayed by the instant gratification that he felt when he gave up on your relationship.
None of it was worth it.
—--------------------------------------------------
Three Days Ago
“I can’t do that,” Naomi spoke as she tried to lean away from Satoru’s mom. They met at a cafe near her neighborhood. She was supposed to ask for advice, but it quickly turned into plotting how to lock Satoru to her. “Listen, Y/N was able to keep Satoru with her because they have a child together.” She tapped a sharp nail on the table.
Naomi would be lying if she said that she didn’t think about using that to get more of his time. She admit that she thought of a way to make him have a kid with her, even trying to lie about her safe day to make him do it inside her. She didn’t think that hearing it come from someone else can sound so sick and twisted.
If Satoru doesn’t want the kid, what’s going to happen to me; to us?
“Why are you worried? I’ve been in the same situation and I’m telling you, Satoru kept his father for me.” Naomi’s eyebrows bumped together as she thought of how easy it was for her to say something like that. “You did that to his father?” She asked in disbelief, wanting nothing but to go but desperate enough to stay.
“Not intentionally. But had I not told him, his ex-wife wouldn’t have left us alone and he wouldn’t have stopped running after her.” She took a sip of her coffee, making her seem so chill with her story. Naomi knows all of it for Satoru once told her. She just thought that his mother really baby-trapped his dad to make him stay.
Can Naomi really do that?
“You won’t baby trap my son, you just let him come to you. Attract him like you did back then.” She nodded at Naomi. “I just wanted to help him, then. I didn’t try to seduce him.” She defended herself, “But you did drink with him a few times? Tell me you didn’t get seductive with him during those nights.” She dared, and Naomi looked down.
She remembers telling him how she liked his eyes and how he was too hot to bury himself in problems. She also remembers nonchalantly telling him how he caught her eye when she first saw him. She knows that she liked to think of him and Yui as her own little family even before they started dating and she remembers promising him that they can make it work.
Was Naomi really being just a friend to him then? Or was she already falling for him when she tried to become what he needs during those times?
“Y/N was confident that she’ll get Satoru back and that’s why she let her guard down. Now, if you want to be her so much then, be happy-go-lucky and watch him dump you.” She shook her head, and the words easily got Naomi thinking twice. She’s not trying to be like you. She’s better than you.
She’s better for him than you.
“Why do you hate her so much?” Naomi suddenly asked, thinking out loud as she carefully thought about her decision. I mean, she didn’t really do anything to me.” If she’s going to think about it, other than the misunderstandings— which were probably caused by something offensive she did or said—you’re never antagonistic towards her.
“She ruined my son’s life. I shouldn’t have expected anything knowing how she got him, but she even had the nerve to try and make him do all the work. She’s probably just after the money..” No matter how hard she tried to recall, Naomi can’t remember him sighing over having Yui with you. “And you think she didn’t really do anything to you? You’re a bit naive.” Naomi’s forehead puckered at her statement.
“Didn’t you notice how she got a new man only now when it started looking like Satoru’s sure about you?” His mother might just be overthinking things but it didn’t help that the changes in her and Satoru’s relationship were almost perfectly timed with you getting a boyfriend. But what if it’s just Satoru? It could’ve been a coincidence, right?
Realizing how she was trying to convince herself in her mind, Naomi only felt worse. Maybe she really has to do something. After all, she swore to him that they can make it work. She’s not someone to just back down and give up on the one she loves when things get tough.
She’s better than you, and unlike you, she won’t run away; she’ll fight for their relationship.
—------------------------------------------
Arriving home, Yui was already wide awake. “...then, Dad will be back to buy a new cake with Yui! How’s that?” Satoru kissed her cheek as he put her down on the couch. The little girl got upset that her dad has to go so soon. She just stood there wordlessly, leaning on the couch as she refused to look at Satoru.
“It’s okay, I’ll talk to her. She’s just grumpy because her nap was disturbed.” Walking towards the little girl, you sat down and put her on your lap. “Say bye, now.” You pushed the stray hairs away from her face and Satoru can’t help but admire how much he missed just seeing the two of you waiting for him on his couch.
Yui was younger then; much smaller in your arms. And he felt like a real husband coming home to his wife and child when you’d be there, watching TV when he got home from work. It’s been more than a year now, he just thinks he’s lucky enough to still be close to you again.
You’re not as close as he wants you to be but this is more than enough for a beggar like him.
Leaning down to give your daughter a kiss, she turned away from him. “Yui, that’s not nice.” Her mouth was quivering but you know her too well. “You better go, they’re waiting for you there.” You looked at him but he only stared at you, sighing deeply. You felt like it was the hundredth time today.
He looked so worn out; like he was just ready to drop as soon as he gets these things out of his tail. You wondered if you looked like this to him back then, too. Probably not this bad because you don’t have a meddlesome mother who keeps trying to put her finger in the pie.
Before Satoru could answer, a knock on the door was heard. The door opened and a little boy holding his sippy cup stood by the doorway. Toji held the doorknob, staring at you and Satoru. What time is it? You thought. You remembered telling him that you’d be back by 4 in the afternoon. Yui was quick to jump from your lap.
“Dada! ‘Gumi! Dada! ‘Gumi!” She squealed at them and you could feel Satoru tense up beside you. She had been told by Toji about it, but hearing it from her friend isn’t helping at all. Megumi looked up at Satoru before looking at Yui. “Hey, hey, hey. What’s my name?” Toji bent down to pick her up when she kept stomping her feet and reaching up at him.
“Dada!” She laughed, before pointing at Megumi who was now taking his little bag from his father’s hand. “You’ll play later. Listen, tell your Dada what my name is.” Toji repeated just as Satoru regained his composure. “It’s alright,” He chuckled, “She probably thought you’re her Dada because you take care of her. And her mom.” You wanted to stop him, feeling bad that he had to pretend that he's cool about this.
Yui’s first word was ‘Dada’ and you could still remember how happy he was when he got her to say it before ‘Mama’. You can’t stand the thought of that memory becoming painful for him. “I gotta go, I’ll just pick her up again tomorrow.” He whispered to you, before nodding to Toji. “Bye, love. See you, tomorrow.” He waved at Yui, faking a smile before rushing to leave.
Yui waved back at him before wiggling out of Toji’s arms. She rushed to get her toys when he put her down. “She’s…she’s a kid” Biting your lip, you breathed out through your nose before walking to Toji and putting your arms around him. “Don’t run.” He called out to the children as giggled their way to Yui’s room. “I feel bad. I’m gonna talk to him later.” You mumbled.
Toji kissed your forehead before you pulled him to your room. “What’s going on?” He asked you, sitting on the bed. “Are you worried?” You asked, straddling him. “I am.” He answered, ignoring your actions. You looked up at him with a frown, remembering the misunderstanding that you had. “Why was he here?”
“Look, he just had to drop me and Yui off because his mother was in his house—” He cut you off, leaning away a bit from you. You know that you didn’t tell him that you were going to Satoru’s house with Yui because you were still upset about your argument the other day and earlier this morning.
“You told me the time but you can’t tell me where you were going?” Perplexity was clear on his face, “I didn’t want to agitate you further. I wouldn’t tell you right now if there’s another reason why I’m there except for Yui.” You tried to explain, feeling him put you beside him on the bed. “Y/N, that’s not the point.” He sighed, closing his eyes.
“Then, what is? I wasn’t planning to stay for long.” You kicked off your shoes, before turning to him. “Look, I’m sorry, ok? I just thought you were mad because of earlier.” You hugged his arm, putting your forehead on his shoulder. “And I was still upset.” Kicking his own shoes off, Toji pulled you on top of him as he leaned back on the headboard
“You have to tell me why you’re upset. It can’t be just the orange juice.” He spoke, grabbing your face as he kissed you. You moaned, breathing into him as you opened your mouth, letting his tongue find yours. His grunts sent vibrations to your core as you press yourself against him.
“Did you lock the door?” He murmured, taking off your cardigan before putting his hands on your buttocks. “Yeah, don’t worry.” You quickly took off your shirt before going back to kissing him, completely forgetting about what he was asking from you.
“As long as we can hear the laughs, they’re fine.” He chuckled, unclasping your bra before taking a nipple in his mouth. “Oh…” You moaned rubbing on his shoulders and tugging at the fabric of his sweater. His other fingers tweaked at your bud as he stared up at you, lustful eyes taking away your worries.
You really just don’t want to tell him that the mention of his wife is starting to trigger you.
Taking off the clothing, he flipped you on your back, removing your belt and jeans. His lips trailed kisses on your thighs as he go, massaging your calves before parting your legs, making you inhale sharply. “We can’t drag this long. Come here.” You giggled, ushering him to hover over you. “You know how they are…” You moaned when he started to kiss your neck.
His tongue and teeth bring pleasure and a bit of sting on your skin. “You just want it that much.” Winking at you, he discarded his remaining clothes before hovering over your womanhood. He smirked as he slid your underwear down, kissing your pearl. “Toji…” You whined, worried that this might get cut short if he doesn’t hurry.
“Alright, alright. I can’t just stick in. Let’s see…” Spreading your lips with two fingers, he eyed your heat with furrowed brows and his mouth slightly ajar, you can’t help but rock your hips against his hand, desperate for friction. Your eyes shut close when he put a finger in, slowly at first, before speeding up when he added a second one.
Toji panted, stroking his member when he felt you squeeze his digits. You’re dripping and he’s starting to ache. “Fuck.” He muttered as he leaned over to go for your lips, kissing you hard. He growled in your mouth when you whimpered as he rubbed on your pearl while massaging the sensitive spot inside you.
Pulling away when your legs started to tremble, Toji hissed as he tapped his head on the bundle of nerves before rubbing his length on your wet folds to lube himself up. “Toji, please.” You cupped your mounds, looking up at him. Seeing you like this drove him crazy, he had to hold back from just slamming himself into you.
Grabbing a pillow and putting it under your hips, Toji prodded your entrance with his tip. He opened your legs wider, taking in the sight of you being stretched and his shaft disappearing slowly until he was fully in. Leaning on the bed with one hand, he grabbed your jaw with the other and silenced your moans with his kisses.
“You can’t let them hear you.” He murmured as he clenches his jaw, pressing his nose on your cheeks and kissing it. He was moving steadily inside of you and whispering words of praises to your ear, “You take me so well now.” He teased you, groaning whenever your hole fluttered around him.
You gasped when Toji pushes your legs to your chest, pounding deeper into you as he sings your name like you do to his. His thrusts were unrelenting, merciless as he slams himself into you. Soon enough, your walls were starting to convulse and your nails were clawing on his arm.
“Come on. Let it go, hon.” You closed your eyes, feeling your chest throb at the nickname he used but the surges of pleasure that took over your senses flooded it out. Your hand covered your mouth, eyes rolling back as you writhed underneath him, coming undone with a cry of delight escaping your lips.
Your thighs trembled under his touch as he continued to rut into you, desperate for his high. “Oh fuck…Oh, Y/N.” Feeling your walls spasm and contract around him, he hurriedly pulled out and spilled his load on your womanhood. A sight to see, he thought as he watched your thighs still shaking from the pleasure.
“Wait a minute," Reaching over to your cabinet, Toji took the box of tissues before wiping you and himself clean. Hearing the jolly screams from the other room made you both laugh to yourself. "That's too quick. We gotta continue this later." He winked, throwing the tissues away before getting on the bed with you.
"Definitely." You let out a tired laugh as you put your head on his shoulder, sighing as the heavy feeling settled on top of your chest. Why did you have to remember him just from that word alone? Toji tilted your head up for a passionate kiss, blurring away the image of your ex inside your head.
“I have a request, though.” You looked down, avoiding his curious gaze. “Can you….can we not use ‘hon’?” You don’t know how weirdly you phrased the question until you looked at Toji to see him looking puzzled. “I mean…this is the first time you called me that and I’m, uh, not really comfortable with that. “
“Yeah, alright. But why?” Maybe you should’ve thought this through. You know Toji’s been getting moody whenever you two talk about anything concerning Satoru. You can’t really blame him after what happened that night. “I just… don’t feel it.” You lied, shrugging. “It’s not that bad, though. I could get used to it.” You smiled up at him, pecking his lips.
“Alright, I think I know.” He exhaled harshly, standing up from the bed to grab your clothes. Great. You just ruined the moment. “Are you mad?” You sat up, watching him get dressed. “No, I just wanna check on the kids.” He is mad. You clicked your tongue, sitting on the edge of the bed. “Babe, I just don’t want to–“
“Y/N. I said alright. I can’t do anything about it, anyway.” That doesn’t fix anything. “A lot of people use that, I just don’t get why you keep getting affected.” You stared at him, baffled. “It’s not like I want to do that. I can’t help my mind, there was a memory attached to that word.”
You stood up to get a robe, “You know that it’s not easy for me, too. I told you.” You uttered, watching his back through your vanity mirror as he stood still. “Maybe if you stop relating everything to him, then it won’t be so hard.” With that, he left the room and you don’t know if you’re hurt or just shocked that he would say something like that to you.
Because he does that to you too. And you thought that he, of all people, should understand where you’re coming from.
—————————————-
Satoru slid the door open with force, seeing Naomi flinch as she was startled by the sound. “Where’s mom?” He asked, breathing hard and eager to just put an end to the craziness she was doing. “I convinced her that we’ll be fine.” She walked to him, smiling as she put her arms around his neck.
“We just need to catch up on each other, I feel like we’ve been too occupied these days.” She buried her face in the crook of his neck, kissing the skin as she rubbed his nape with a soft, delicate hand. “Yeah, we got a lot to talk about.” Satoru put a hand on the small of her back. “But first, you gotta tell me what that was about.”
“I just invited her over. I didn’t know Y/N would be here, sorry.” She sighed, before dragging him to the couch. Satoru kept thinking about the scene before he left your house. That was just a lot to take in, especially when he just fought with his mother. “I got no work tomorrow, we can stay up all night.” She giggled, taking off her cardigan.
“Let’s have a couple of drinks during dinner. I’ll cook for you.” She proposed, walking to the kitchen. Checking his phone, he found himself expecting a text from you. None. You don’t give a fuck about him. He sighed, It’s okay. As long as I can see themi, he thought. He just hoped that you’d ask how things went in his house. Or if he’s hurt about ‘Dada’ Toji. All the things he shouldn’t expect.
Guess, I’ll fucking die of jealousy, then. He clenched his teeth proceeding to his bedroom. “I’ll wash up.” He spoke to Naomi, “Go on, baby. I’ll be making dinner.” She answered, glancing his way. If she’s going to be honest, she wanted to skip the talks. The truth is Naomi’s afraid of what he’ll say if she confronts him with her real thoughts.
She could easily skip those steps, and get to her goal.
Goal? Naomi’s movements halt as she realized how she sounded. She’s not a bad person, she thought. Is she really gonna do this? “If you want to be her so much then, be happy-go-lucky and watch him dump you.” Naomi’s breath hitched when his mother’s words reverberated in her head.
She can’t lose him. Not now when they’re almost settling down. She’s not being a monster, she’s not baiting him. He’ll come to her on his own like he did before. She’s just going to make him see that she’s good for him.
Dinner time came and she prepared it more than ordinary, hoping to ignite a light in him. It’s not usual for a woman to start something like this but Naomi’s different. As she said, she’ll fight for him. “Wow, is this a date?” Satoru chuckled sitting down in front of her seat. “I just wanted to rekindle. Your mom’s right, we’re just drifting away. I can’t stand that happening.”
Walking to her chair, Naomi stopped by him and kissed his cheek. Satoru on the other hand, can’t help but feel bad. He’s sure that nothing will change even if they do this. “Try. She’s a good person.” He quickly downed a drink, letting it take your voice away. Not because he doesn’t want to listen to you, but because he’s not sure if he can do it.
The dinner went by quickly, and they were just discussing over drinks. He can’t even count how many he downed when she started talking about how you look more plump. “They might beat us in giving Yui a sibling.” She joked, laughing because she didn’t know what was in his head. “I doubt it, she wanna get married first.” He replied monotonously before opening up about his counseling sessions.
“Counselling?” She asked. The topic is incredibly close to what Satoru’s about to confess. She stared at her wide eyes as he nodded. “Were you having problems? Baby, why didn’t you tell me? I could’ve helped you.” Her concern was sincere and it made him feel like a villain. “I wanted to be better for Yui.” And for Y/N.
Clueless, she gave him a fond stare. “You’re a great father. Y/N knows that.”  There were times during the dinner when Satoru was so close to spitting out the truth to her but the effort she put in just to make that food on the table makes him feel remorseful.
Satoru knows that it’s not right. But just for tonight, after all the months that he made him feel tranquil, he can spare her heart for a night or two. He didn’t want to hurt her, he didn’t want to break her heart. But staying would only mean that she’s never going to get what she wants and deserves.
“I’ll be brushing my teeth then, get to bed. The drink got to me.” He laughed, holding the chair as he stood up. “Thank you so much. For everything.” She came to hug him, kissing his lips as she murmured words of adoration to him. “Go ahead, you’re all red, can you walk?” She joked, before pushing him to go, “I’ll be with you in a few. I feel really sleepy now, too.”
It’s been almost half an hour. Naomi checked on Satoru to find him sleeping soundly already. Not even her slam of the door woke him up. She stared at herself in the mirror, “I’m really gonna do this.” She exhaled, closing her eyes before going walking out of the bathroom. He’s still in the same position as before.
Stepping closer, Naomi removed her silk robe, revealing her night dress. She clenched her fist tightly, before quickly releasing it just to try and get rid of the tension in her body. She sat on the bed, touching his chest and abs. Hearing him moan when she got to his lower part calmed her slightly. Just like we always do, she repeated in her head, kissing his skin.
“I’m sorry, Satoru…” She whispered one last time.

Marry Me?
Pairing: Spencer Reid x reader
Warning: I haven't seen criminal minds in a bit so idk if the Spencer in this is 100 percent accurate
Summary: Spencer asks you to marry him at the most random time. Garcia does not approve.
*Not Proof Read* ABC List Criminal Minds
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
" That's horrifying. " I wrinkle my nose at the sight of the bloody decapitated woman in the photos lying scattered around the table. This is why I work with Garcia.
Sticky notes are messily pasted onto the photos, illegible scribbles covering them.
" It is. " Spencer agrees.
" Why did you call me in here? " I ask, confused why my boyfriend called me in if he isn't going to expand further on the topic.
Spencer picks up a large Manila folder and shuffles through the contents. " I think I might have figured out the pattern we were looking for. " He pulls out a small stack of papers, each with the name of a high school in the corner. " The Unsub is killing girls from the same high school. Each girl attended the school at a different year. It's like he's going down the line of years. If I'm right, he'll been picking a girl from 2002 next. "
I scan over one of the papers he hands me. " Shit, you're right. " Excitement fills my body. We've been working on this for hours. He figured it out! " Spencer, this is fucking amazing! You figured it out! We need to tell the others. "
" Yes. I also think I might know who the next potential victim is based on other patterns I picked up along the way. " Spencer rambles on. " I think he might be going after Piper Johnson next, the woman we saw on the news interview. We need to check if she's okay. By the way, do you want to get married? "
His words come out so fast it takes me a second to process.
" W-What? " My eyes widen. Did I hear correctly?
Spencer is looking at me his gaze steady. He looks serious. " I know it's a little random, but this case really had me thinking. We don't know how much time we have together. God forbid one of us gets hurt or worse. I don't want to waste any more time with you. I love you and I want to be with you. I'd be the happiest man on earth if you said yes. "
For a moment I forget we're surrounded by gruesome shit. All I can think about is Spencer and our future. All of our plans.
A large smile makes its way onto my face. " Of course I will, Spence. I love you. " I smash my face into his, our lips meeting and immediately sending shivers through my body.
" I love you too, Y/N. So fucking much. " His voice rumbles against my lips.
" You did not just fucking ask Y/N to marry you in a room surrounded by dead women. Spencer, what the fuck. " A surprised voice interrupts us.
Surprised, Spencer and I pull apart to find the owner.
Garcia stares at us, her mouth hung open in surprise. " And you accepted his proposal? Are you insane? Don't get me wrong, you guys are perfect for each other. This proposal was just...so...gory. " She glances at the pictures around the room. " I'll help you plan out a real proposal, alright? Let's press pause on this until tonight. I'll have it all ready by the time you guys get back. " She says confidently, taking on the task we didn't ask her to do.
" It's really not that big of a deal- " I begin.
" It'll be done by tonight. " She says sternly, holding her hand up to stop any argument. " Now, you go let the others know what's going on with the unsub. " She points at me. " You are staying here with me while we set everything up. "
She gently pulls me towards the door, snatching the pack of information out of Spencer's hand.
" But-! "
She doesn't let me finish, swiftly kicking me out of the room.
Behind her, Spencer stand watching me in surprise.
Garcia shuts the door in my face, leaving me standing on the other side alone.
This day has been so confusing.

summary: trying to settle into life after what happened has proven to be just as difficult for both you and Azriel… pairing: azriel x fem!reader words: 1.5k warnings: still just angst.
part 1: the cliff
part 2: the house
part 3: the court
Tumblr media
There was something bittersweet hanging around your house since that argument with your parents. It had been a week since you had returned and, sadly, things didn't feel as good as they used to. You didn't expect you all to be exactly the same either, you and your parents had been through specific times that wouldn't allow them to ever be the same again, especially when they were so reluctant for you to return to the Night Court. Even you didn't know if you would be completely ready to do so in the near future.
One good thing was that, during those days, you had learned to manage your emotions to keep them from running strongly through the bond you shared with Azriel so as not to overwhelm him. Perhaps it was the only thing that had distracted you during that time from rethinking what had happened, even more than your parents' attempts at conversation.
There was also the matter of the shadows. You knew they were Azriel's, you thought they belonged to him, but some of them were constantly accompanying you, and they got scares out of your father from time to time.
Going back to your parents was supposed to bring you peace, but you felt calmer every time you looked at the tattoo running down your arm and the promise Azriel had made to you with crystallized eyes.
“I hear your thoughts all the way over here, you know?”
You lifted your head, blinking faster. The wind caressed your cheeks and moved your loose hair, for a moment forgetting where you were. Shadows gathered around your feet.
“I'm sorry, did you say something?”
Alya had a posture with her arms up, sending you a curious look. Your childhood friend barely needed to hear the tones in your voice to know when you were lying, but she seemed to want to let it go that time. The people around you didn't seem to know how to deal with the conversations when word got out that you were back, but Alya had a talent for knowing when to touch on topics and when not to.
“Several things,” her body moved toward the fruit baskets, taking the last basket in her arms and starting to walk in the opposite direction. “My brother got married.”
“Really?”
“And he has children.”
“Really?”
“Twins.”
You let out a laugh, remembering Alya's rebellious older brother. Your visits to her house were always accompanied by the constant whining and fighting between Trav and his parents because he didn't want to start a family in the near or distant future. He was so insistent about it, even though it was the only thing his parents wanted. According to Alya's accounts, it was impossible for him not to start imagining that future when he met his mate.
“What about you?”
“Ah, no, please, no. There is nothing interesting to tell about my life. I assure you that Mrs. Taylors had a more exciting life for the past few years than I have,” Alya and you arrived at her mother's fruit stand, where she dropped the last basket of goods you had helped her move all morning. You marched beside her, detailing the look of nonchalance she was trying so hard to maintain.
“It couldn't have just not happened. It was… too many years,” despite the boastfulness with which you wanted to carry the conversation, your voice reached to cut off finishing the sentence. Alya turned to look at you, her worried eyes analyzing your face before grabbing your wrist and walking away from the fruit stand.
“You know you don't have to pretend around me, right?”
Alya closed the door to her house behind her. Her family had gotten a very homey house right in the heart of the city's commerce and they kept their very well kept stall right in front of it. Every corner of the place felt like a home because of the great dedication and love her whole family put into it. Even when her brother was missing, it seemed that the house had not lost any strength or presence.
Maybe that's why you felt a wave of longing and nostalgia hit your body, leaving you more vulnerable than you had been the last few days.
“Living with my parents hasn't been so great,” you began, lowering your gaze with a frown. Alya had moved into the kitchen and you had happily settled down on the counter right in front of the stove. Your hands in front of you on the white ceramic were moving nervously, interlocking and clattering your nails on the hard material. “After so long I thought that… I thought that nothing would change when I came back. I thought we'd be even closer together than before, I even thought we'd sleep together. I spent so many nights… alone and so cold. I couldn't bear the thought of going back and having to go through that kind of torturous loneliness again.”
Alya moved in front of you, setting aside the tea brewing to clasp her hands in yours, still twitching in nervousness and anxiety. Her expression was no longer one of dread as she noticed shadows moving around you.
“Is it because of him?”
You nodded, and acknowledging it once again was no less painful.
“It's illogical, I think,” Alya rested her arms on the ceramic, frowning slightly. The warmth of her hands, even though it wasn't a bit chilly in her house, brought you just enough coziness to try to soothe your heart. It reminded you of that moment at the border of Court Day next to Azriel. “After so long without seeing you, why not take advantage of the indefinite time you'll be with them? They stress too much about something that could happen in two decades, even.”
“I've tried to tell them, but I don't think they'll be happy until I tell them I'm not coming back.”
“What about him?” Alya cocked her head to one side, and at your confused look added, “He wouldn't be willing to come?”
“What? No. I couldn't even suggest it to him,” you shook your head as soon as the words left her mouth.
“Why not?”
“His whole life is in that court, Alya. Asking him to give it all up for me just because I wouldn't be willing to do it for him, wouldn't that be too selfish?”
“You must keep in mind that you've been through special circumstances. If he really feels a quarter of the bond love, then he won't mind giving up everything for you.”
“I don't want to talk about this anymore. The tea is going to dry up.”
Alya shifted letting out a gasp of surprise.
“Fine. But you have to keep in mind that it's not just about you now. You're not alone anymore. You don't have to make decisions for him or stop making them because it's not just your feelings you have to be careful with.”
-
Azriel still didn't understand how Mor had convinced Tarquin and Rhysand to meet for that reunion on the day you finally returned home, but he was immensely grateful that she had been able to negotiate the terms down to the last instance. The same thing he would've done.
“Are you ever going to see him again?”
“Not as long as I live.”
The aforesaid appeared at the training camp when Azriel was taking some time away from the crowd of people living in the Town House. He would never have believed that he would rather strain his body until he passed out just so he wouldn't have to meet Rhysand's or Cassian's face at every corner. The blood in his veins burned as if it had poison in it, one step away from starting to spit in their directions as if they were the only ones to blame for everything that had happened.
As if he needed to find a culprit for your departure.
But there was no one to blame. It had been your decision. And every day since then Azriel's sentence became significantly larger and more tedious to carry. The worst part was not even knowing when that ordeal would end. Living with that bitterness in his heart and that emptiness in his soul, he didn't believe there could ever be peace in his relationship with his brothers. No one in the house overlooked that.
"She's fine," Mor changed the subject abruptly, knowing exactly how to appease the flame of his anger.
Azriel nearly melted with his forehead against the punching bag. His shoulders slumped in momentary relaxation, the only relaxation he'd allowed himself to have since you'd left.
“You saw her?”
“Yes, she was spending time with her friends. She was smiling. Laughing. She looked happy.”
Azriel had to fight the whine that wanted to escape his lips. He shook his head in assent, trying to keep the emotions at bay, sending a silent thank you through the masses of air. He felt his heart squeezed inside his chest. Every day was a constant uncertainty because he couldn't even feel her anymore…
Mor had to travel weekly to Summer because one of the terms of their agreement with Tarquin required it and for the last three weeks all Azriel had been waiting for was news about you, to know that you were well, that you looked well, that you were really happy there, at home… away from him.
“You know that doesn't imply that she wants to forget you, right?”
The mere implication made his head fall back on the sack. Azriel tried to nod, feeling the words and his own emotions choking him. His body would become an inert object at some point, that much he knew, because he couldn't spend too long living like this. He couldn't even imagine it, if he was just beginning the period that could last for years, even centuries for all he knew.
“I know…” his voice came out choked, almost mistaken for a sigh. “I know.”
He repeated again to himself.
Azriel dreaded knowing how things were going to be from now on.

On the topic of complicated whatever, it fascinates be that Hien is apparently only slightly better than Laios at reading Toshiro. I mean, theres the comic where she says she FEELS like they were pretty close, but the actual memory?
Tumblr media
But look at what she's saying. She's comforting him (headpat) and probably trying to reframe whatever happened as something he shouldn't let him affect him so much, but really she's disregarding his feelings, isn't she? Look at his body language. Grasping at his chest, folding onto himself... He wasn't in a place to hear something like that and she missed it.
Reminds me of someone else who FELT they were close to Toshiro:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hien may be too pragmatic to pick up on things like vibes, and strong enough that things slide like water off a duck's back. Doesn't mean she doesn't care though, she pretty explicitly expresses that she dislikes the distance between them as adults.
All this to say, I see two ways in which they can fix their friendship. Toshiro could learn from what happened with Laios and try to be more assertive when he communicates (learning about boundaries will fix him. maybe), or, they will have an argument that will probably be cathartic but also likely even more hurtful than the fight with Laios.
I mean, this isn't just three years of history, this is based on assumptions that they both made about each other's character that have gone unchecked for years. (And perhaps a side of likely power dynamics in the household).
If it hurts to know your friend from three years ago didn't feel respected by you, now imagine learning that your childhood friend who you low-key thought would ask you to marry him decided it was best not to open up to you, even though you as far as you know have always wanted to be there for him. And HAVE been there for him to the best of your ability, it's just, you're not the type to sacrifice your authenticity for it right? (wow reminds me a bit of someone)
A fight with that kind of baggage... I can see it being worse than what happened with Laios. Perhaps not physical, but emotionally? Worse. Hien isn't good at pulling her punches after all, and Toshiro lets things build up.
Would they be able to come back from it though? Hmm I think they would. If nothing else out of a sense of duty to the household.

her knight in shining blood
i was listened to bf asmr’s yesterday and got this idea (don’t judge me, i’m depressed and i also pulled this out of my ass, once again, so it’s very rushed)
(knight!simon riley x princess reader)
he watched as new suitors came into the kingdom to present the princess their hand, only to be rejected each time. he heard the words from her father, the king, “stop being so picky, you need to marry royalty.” to which she looked over at him, a small look of pain written on her face.
simon knew what was running through her mind, the annoyance that no one will listen to her when she says she doesn’t want to marry royalty, instead her own knight that was assigned to protect her.
he knew the pain all too well. with one of the neighboring kingdoms planning to kidnap the princess after she rejected their prince, simon kept a high alert of people who come near his true love. his eyes were on her, always.
she got up after the king dismissed her, walking straight towards simon. he watched her intently, her every move was remembered in his mind.
“i wanna go on a walk,” she said, with no room for argument. she needs to clear her head, he thought. “come on.”
she walked away first, as he looked over at the king and nodded. he took the side next to her, their hands grazing against each other as they walked. they had waited till they were out of the castle to hold hands. if anyone said anything, the only response would be “she tries to wander off”, which is true, the princess tries to sneak off.
they walk next to a small part of the town, where it isn’t that busy. a small smile appears on simons lips as he watches her talk about her day. the topic of marriage comes up again and he pauses.
“i want to marry you, not some annoying prince..” she speaks softly, the words ring in his ears for a few moments. ‘i want to marry you’.
“why can’t i marry based on love, not wealth?”
“your kingdom is dying, your highness, you would be risking the fall of your rein.” he stopped walking and turned to look at her, “i need you to understand that you have to marry a suitor, forget about me, my love.”
she gasped and let go of his hand, “i will do no such thing! i love you and will not trade my love for money!”
“marriage is not based on love, it’s based on money and success. i have neither and cannot provide for you. i can only give you my strength.” his head dropped slightly, like a small bow.
“i want not to marry for money, i could give two shits about money, i want to be happy.” she raises her voice slightly, but he could hear the breaking in it.
“your highness, i will not let you throw away your rein for a knight! you know better than this!” now he felt like the king, scolding her on something she already knows. she stepped back slightly and stared at him.
“fine. i will marry a suitor, but im not giving up on us.” she turned around and started to walk back to the castle for bed. simon sighed and followed moments after, watching her waved and smile at the villagers like they didn’t just have an argument. he knew better, she wasn’t happy. she was on the verge of breaking.
~the next day~
with all the talk about the princess and kidnapping, simons guard was raised. he only left her side when she needed to go the bathroom. she wasn’t allowed in the village no more.
the neighboring kingdom had began their attack, leading closer to the castle. they weren’t very stealthy, only loud and obnoxious. simon watched as the princess paced back and forth. he had just told her the news of him fighting the battle.
“you cant do this! what if they come to the castle and try to take me! who would be protecting me then?”
he stood up from his spot and walked over to her, grabbing her hands and holding them tightly. their eyes met and he swore he could see them light up. “i am fighting for you. i will come back to you if something happens. i was assigned to be your knight and i will never stop fighting until this world no longer threatens you, my princess.”
his forehead rests against hers as they both close their eyes. they’re happy and they’re content.
“i must ask one thing from you, your highness..”
“yes, anything. what do you need from me, simon.” her eyes pleading as she softly spoke.
“may i have a kiss?” his tone sounded suggestive and soft. her arms wrapped tightly around his neck, not to choke him but to hold onto him, as she kissed him slowly and contently. his big, strong hands held her waist to stabilzed her as she stood on her tippy-toes.
when they pulled away, they were both out of breathe and smiled heavily at each other. her forehead rested on his strong chest inbetween her hands.
“promise me something?”
“yes, my princess?”
“you’ll come back to me tomorrow”
“i would never think to leave you alone in a world that only wants to harm you.” she smiles softly at this, placing her hand and forehead on his strong chest. her protector would never leave her.
~next day~
the princess was locked within the wall of her castle, with her family and royal servants. only the knights left the walls. which included simon.
she looked out of her room, over the vast land of her kingdom, where she could see them fight.
she could see the men fall from their horses and other being stabbed. she only hoped and wished simon would come back to her.
the fight lasted for weeks, with no breaks. she was left alone to wonder with her true love was slain or would he come back to her.
with rumors spreading through the streets that simon had been killed, she felt like her world had crumbled beneath her feet.
her simon, was murdered by a man who couldn’t accept rejection. disgusting king behavior. she sobbed for days until it was confirmed the soldiers were heading home and she had to greet them by the gates.
her and her family stood and welcomed all the soldiers back from their fight, thanking them and wishing them the best with healing. when it came to the very injured wagon of soldiers, she had noticed a very recognizable mask.
her simon was alive.
she ran to him and hugged him very tightly, being very wary of his wounds. she could feel his smile as he hugged her back with one arm, the other sitting at his side. he pulled her into his lap and held her tight.
“i thought you had died! everyone had said so!!” she softly yelled, holding his face and crying.
his hand wiped her tears, “i would never think about it, my love.”
she had snuggled into his lap, holding his as tightly as she could and as her parents watched the true love unfold, they realized you can’t marry for money, but for love. 🫶

here's a ✨quick recap of the Jessa and Ben interview from the "Now That We're a Family" podcast✨for @undercoverduggarblog and anyone else who's curious if they spilled any tea.
I will say the couple who was interviewing them seemed to be the exact same flavor of fundamentalist as the Seewalds, so it was mostly the same cheesy fundie platitudes you hear in any "interview" the Duggars or similar fundies do. so this might be kind of short but there were a few interesting parts I'll highlight:
Jessa and Ben said that they were really focused on teaching catechism memorization to their kids, which I guess isn't super shocking information, I've just never heard anyone besides Catholics talk about catechisms lol. The Catholic Catechism for those who don't know is a separate thing from the Bible which kind of summarizes the principles of the religion, kind of like a cliff notes situation for all of Catholic theology. Other denominations usually focus more on individual stories from the Bible to summarize the principles of their faith, but according to Ben there is a Baptist Catechism too and the Seewald kids will be memorizing it. -
Ben says he was working for Jim Bob at the time he and Jessa got married doing lawn care, remodeling, and construction, idk if I knew that previously. He said he started tutoring Jessa's siblings after that, and now he's been a pastor for 4 years after doing an internship at his previous church. -
Jessa says some of the first conversations she had with Ben pre-relationship were about theology, and that she had been reading more about the Reformed tradition and practices at that time after talking to Ben. Ben says he got Jessa's phone number originally by asking Jim Bob if it was ok to talk to her about theology outside of church stuff. -
Both said even before marriage, they had a lot of disagreements theologically (obviously, bc Jessa was raised by Jim Bob and Michelle who basically made up their own version of Baptist). Ben says some of their biggest disagreements were on the topics of predestination (as we know, since he also got into it with JB over that), how God decides who should be saved, "The Atonement" which I assume just means Jesus dying for our sins (not sure what there is to argue about there), etc. He goes on to say he didn't see it as a deal breaker as far as courting Jessa because he was very into her, and also "a lot of Christians disagree on these topics", but he did want to try to eventually "figure it out". -
They say that they put the theological discussions on pause after Ben proposed. Jessa laughingly says "don't worry, we picked back up (after we were married)" and I guess for me personally I just don't understand how you can talk about these things SO much and never resolve them. Like how are you talking about predestination for MONTHS? and if you guys disagree about a subject to the point that your conversations end in anger and crying (i'll get to that soon) I don't understand not just agreeing to disagree. Honestly to me, it really sounds like Ben had a campaign from the beginning to change Jessa's mind about these things, which is good in some ways I guess bc he's slightly more progressive than she was raised, but still. It definitely feels like that was always the goal, to get Jessa to believe what Ben does, and I mean what other choice does she have in this world they live in but to give in? -
Ben says the theological differences really started bothering him after marriage (shocker). So they continued their arguments, Ben showed Jessa endless books and shit "proving" his points, and Jessa says she started to get pretty heated about their disagreements (at one point she says Ben was like "maybe we should just pray about this" to which she answered "you pray!!"). They both say they were never at the point of yelling, but Jessa would sometimes start crying out of frustration, as would Ben after seeing her cry, and they'd just end in the same place they started. Ben says he thought that if he just "presented a good argument" it would change Jessa's mind about these things they disagreed on and that he hadn't anticipated that they would struggle over this so much (have you met any Duggars, Ben??). -
Ben says that he realized these conversations weren't productive and that he wasn't "leading" Jessa well (🙄) so he started trying to diffuse hard conversations by being like "hey, let's drop this and go on a date", or doing something that would distract both of them before things got heated. -
Jessa says nowadays she agrees with Ben on more things and considers herself a four-point Calvinist. She says Ben used to have "hyper-Calvinist" tendencies and that he's chilled out a bit in that area (I don't know what she means by this lol). -
The couple who are interviewing them are also from big Christian families, and they ask Ben and Jessa if they ever get exhausted from trying to maintain so many relationships with both of their large groups of siblings, in addition to Ben's church members. Ben says yes, and that with Jessa's siblings (he specifically mentions hers and not his lol) there are just some that they see and have over a lot, and some they just "don't connect with as much" and don't see often. Jessa cuts him off here and says that her family does have weekly/monthly things they do where they see everyone. She also says there are certain family units that she and Ben try to connect with more than just at the big family gatherings (1. why'd she say it like that and 2. i wonder who 👀). Overall, Jessa says she always feels like she's not doing enough to maintain her relationships with all of her siblings and that it's a struggle. -
Ben and Jessa get asked about the time they take for just the two of them. Ben says they used to do a date night at least once a week, but that since having more kids there have been "seasons" where that hasn't happened (I'm so tired of hearing that word at this point in the interview). Nowadays they both say that they do maybe one or two date nights a month where they go out, and also a lot of at-home dates where they watch a movie or read together. The reading together sounds sweet don't get me wrong, but for me personally, I feel like I would be driven to insanity by taking turns reading aloud and not just getting to go at my own pace (I've got attention problems tho). -
The types of books they read together are also usually about theology (they just can't get enough). They say right now they're reading a book on prayer, and in the past they've read about things like Baptist Covenant Theology, which Jessa says "went over her head". The way Ben talks about it, I feel like the reading together thing is another attempt to sell Jessa on his beliefs (Ben seems super geeked about Calvinism). The interviewer husband says their reading together is good because it prevents them from developing separate world views from each other without the other one knowing (sounds threatening?). -
As far as the movies they watch for date night, Ben says "westerns, sci fi, something black and white". They say as far as morality and movies go, they're pretty similar on the things they "don't want to see" and they use those rating websites for parents to decide if a movie is "clean" enough for them to watch. Ben says he really loves fantasy, sci fi, and imaginative stuff whereas Jessa says jokingly that she prefers movies "with humans" or things like Dick van Dyke. Ben says he got Jessa to watch Star Wars once, which she describes as "everything I don't love", but she got into it a little bit by the end. They both like movies like Pride and Prejudice. -
The wife interviewer tells a weird story about how she and her sister got mad at their husbands for showing them Lord of the Rings because it's "creepy and weird"?? which I just included because of how egregious a statement that is lol. Ben defends Lord of the Rings and the interviewer husband says that he and Ben can appreciate fantasy bc they have the ability to think "deeper" than their wives (he's joking but it still made me mad). Jessa said she originally was worried that watching fantasy was dabbling in the occult and the other wife agrees. which isn't surprising but makes me sad.

I know the general consensus on here seems to be that Courtney and Shayne are gonna lay low this year but honest to god I think we're gonna get an engagement announcement this year.
Hear me out. First of all, no, I don't think they're already engaged. I think the ring is a coincidence. As Shayne put it in today's Reddit Stories w/ Quinton & Damien, you should probably have all of your shit figured out before you commit to getting married. I think they'd probably want to make things public before engagement because it will obviously cause a major shift in their lives. Either that or they'll announce things WHEN they get engaged.
So, why do I think they'll get engaged soon? Allow me to list my arguments:
Time - If we assume they've been dating since 2020(iirc the common estimate is specifically August of 2020), then this year will be their 4-year anniversary. Add on that they've known each other for almost 10 years I think? And that they've been living together for at least 2 years now. I think they're both probably aware that marriage is kind of a formality at this point, which sorta segues into my second argument...
Reddit Stories - Someone pointed out on here recently that Shayne has gotten better at discussing relationships since he stopped being single. I would like to add that he also seems to be good at talking about proposals. They've read the two proposal stories recently where Shayne has expressed very strong, consistent opinions about proposals that imply it's something he's thought about at length, maybe recently? The reason I said my last argument segued into this one is because Shayne has expressed that he believes that proposals should generally be considered formalities in that the person you're proposing to should already know it's gonna happen, just not when. That was paraphrased, but you get the point.
Marriage Fever - This is my weakest point, but I think it's worth noting that both Kimmy and Amanda got married last year, and Josh got engaged recently. Disregarding Courtney's infamous "slightly more engaged than me" comment, couples tend to tie the knot one after the other in group settings like this. You see people around you happily getting married, and you want it for yourself. Pretty basic but I thought it at least shouldn't go unsaid.
Anyone who reads this, please say something if you think there's something to add or if you vehemently disagree with me. I just love discussion.
Damnnnnnn! That's a very good argument especially what Shayne was talking on Reddit Stories video. He's definitely been thinking about it and talking with each other a lot on this kind of topic for sure.

Lance Sweets (Bones) - Oneshot
Tumblr media
"Bones I'm serious, you have to at least know that it's possible."
"Logically it isn't Booth."
You've long gotten used to their bickering. You're not even going to ask what the topic is this time. When your supervisor recommended you for the job, you honestly thought it would be different. As weird and chaotic as they all were, you actually enjoyed your job. Not something you could say for the last few years of your life.
Booth understood what it was like, coming from the navy. Adjusting was difficult, but you made it. Your main job at this point though was to be a babysitter. With the amount of cases being processed through the Jeffersonian, the FBI just thought they would need an extra hand.
Another detective just to listen to these two argue like a married couple.
"Back me up (Y/N)."
"I would like to be excluded from your argument."
You say stepping through the doors of the institute. Bones sent you a little smile which you returned.
"I saw that! You two are ganging up on me!"
"That's not a statement you can prove."
Brennan said smoothly. You try your best to hide your laughter as he goes back to the case when you finally make it to Brennan's office.
To your surprise, a certain psychologist is seated there.
"Great, I caught you at the right time." He stands, and you take that as your cue to leave.
"I'm going to check in with Camile." You advise. You expect Sweets to start his little psychology assessment on those two, but he moves in your direction.
"Actually, you're the one I needed to see. I can walk with you."
Those were not the words you wanted to hear.
Sweets move to your side as you both walk through the hall.
"Did I do something that warrants an assessment?" You question.
"Oh, no, you're probably the most sane on this team aside from Camile and Angela." He assures with a laugh.
"So, is there a reason you're walking with me to the lab?"
"Well this is more of an unofficial visit. I was hoping we could get more acquainted. We're both the youngest of this group. I figured we could exchange notes."
"No offense, but I have a job to do." You've made it to the lab, reaching for the handle, you pull open the door.
"If that's all."
You just watch him and Sweets laughs nervously.
"You're right, sorry. Maybe another time when you're not working an active case. I'll be around."
The door slams in his face and he slides his hands in his pocket, walking away.
Once inside, you let out a sigh.
"Was that Sweets?"
Camile asks.
You nod, eyes moving to the corpse she has displayed on the table.
"So when are you going to tell him you have a crush on him?"
She questions while casually removing the organs from your most recent victim. The sight should have thrown you off way more than the question did.
"W-What are you talking about?"
Camile smiles.
"Come on, I'm not an idiot. Booth and Brennan might not be as perceptive, but I've picked up on it. Your short replies, those lingering glances. You like him. From the sound of his dejected tone, he might like you too if you'd stop shutting him down. "
You frown.
"I don't have a crush on Sweets."
"Whatever you say."
It's clear she doesn't believe you .
You sort of hoped if you said it enough times you might be able to convince yourself of it. You couldn't deny that he was cute. He'd also helped on a significant number of cases. It's been driving you crazy. You literally fought in a war. Dealing with these feelings should be a piece of cake. Yet anytime he's around you just feel at ease, possibly vulnerable.
Maybe that's why it's so hard to admit.
Vulnerability isn't something you can afford.
For the remainder of the day, you try to focus all your energy into the case.
It's a tougher one.
Mostly because your victim was an ex navy. A girl just a few years older than you. At first you didn't think much of it. But the deeper you get into the case, the more it feels like this person is a reflection of you.
The war had changed her. Led her down a shaky path.
Drugs, violence.
She was a soldier that fought for the country and was tossed away. It's a reminder of how easily that could have been you. When you came back, you were never the same. You know that they often said that. War changes people.
You changed.
Maybe if this woman had gotten the same guidance that you did, then she would still be alive.
Every lead you all received seemed to run to another dead end.
Your current suspect is out there enjoying life while you all fight to find anything to pin him to the murder that you know he committed, but can't easily prove. Your number one suspect is a politician. So far you all have a motive. But no evidence. The corrupted bastard had apparently assaulted a woman, and to save his image he blackmailed her. Your victim had evidence. She was just trying to do the right thing and now she was dead because of it.
"I checked it, he's not clean. I'm telling you this guy is involved."
"I know but we don't have proof, if we go over there without the necessary proof then he'll just deny it. We need more time"
You slammed your hand on the desk.
"We don't have time!"
Sweets stands.
"Maybe you're acting so emotional because you relate with her, the victim. You feel guilty because you see a reflection of what she's been through. You feel responsible even though there's nothing you could have done."
You glare at his words.
"Don't profile me."
He doesn't need a doctorate to spot the hostility. You drop the document on the desk, storming out of your office. Sweets turns, a subtle look of guilt on his face. Booth just gives Sweets a pat on his shoulder.
"Don't worry about her. She's dealing with it in her own way. I'll talk to her."
Booth follows you out the door.
You know it's stupid to get emotional. You end up in a hallway, just pacing back and forth. Booth smiles when he spots you.
"Keep going like that and you'll run a hole into the floor."
Your movement stops and when you look up, Booth sends an understanding look.
"I know you feel responsible, but Sweets is right. There's nothing you could have done. She may have had a hard run, but she didn't die in vain. We just need one solid trail of evidence and then we got him. That girl and our victim will have justice. We just need to be patient."
With a soft sigh, you nod, hands moving from your hips.
"I'm sorry for exploding like that."
"It's okay, I get it."
Booth more than anyone does.
The frantic footsteps of someone catches your attention. Hodgins is standing there with a big smile. Booth returns it.
"We got him?" Booth asks.
"We got him." Hodgins clarifies. You find yourself sharing the smile when Booth does a mini fist pump.
With the results Hodgins has found, you now have proof that your politician Ed Johnson was not only at the scene of the crime, but a piece of his unnecessarily expensive cufflink was more than enough to show that there was at least probable cause to search his residence.
When they showed up with the warrant, he didn't look pleased. Especially when you found the murder weapon, his golf club which would undoubtedly match the indent and fragments Hodgins pulled. You felt satisfied watching him get lead away in those cuffs.
"She was nobody!"
Ed spat at you.
You just smiled.
"She was a soldier. No one is going to forget her. Have fun where you're going. I bet the guys can't wait to get their hands on you."
You could see the dread on his face, and it just felt that much more satisfying. Booth and Brennan moved to your side after the exchange. Booth gave your shoulder a pat.
"See that, the squints always come through."
You offer Brennan a smile.
"Thank you."
She knows how much the case meant to you, so you know she'd been working vigorously. So did the rest of the team. She shares your smile as you all prepare to leave.
The trip back to your office is much better.
Another case solved, a monster apprehended. This is all you can truly hope for out of such cases.
It's nice to have that sense of resolve.
Speaking of resolve..
"Sweets."
You completely forgot about that.
The only thing is you haven't truly faced Sweets since that situation in Booth's office. You know you should apologize. He's just trying to help in any way he can. His little mind tricks are a bit irritating, but you know he can't turn it off. Asking him to stop would be the same as telling you to abandon your badge and gun.
You let out another sigh as you hang your coat on the rack in your office.
It feels nice to be back in the comfort of your own space after such a trying day. You drop the case file on your desk. Your intention is to finally relax, but the sound of your door opening can only mean that you probably have another case.
"Okay, now that the case is closed we need to talk."
Sweets is the last person you thought you'd see. Especially after all the effort you put in to avoid him.
"Why do you dislike me? I know seeing me for most people isn't exactly the best considering the circumstances. Given my job description it's understandable. But I'm a pretty likable guy."
You're not really ready to face him just yet.
"I don't have a problem with you Sweets, I just have a lot of paperwork. So if you could please."
You try to move to the door, maybe find an escape, but he blocks your way and you pause in place.
Because he's much closer now.
"No, we have a conflict and I'd like to figure this out. I'm assigned to your team, so we need to deal with this now. I've been watching you and it's clear that you have some very strong feelings about me. So either you hate my guts or you're madly in love with me."
He lets out a little laugh at that. Because he doesn't truly mean it. He just wants you both to get along.
You know he's just rambling. Somehow the statement has your cheeks warming. You finally truly look at him and his words have started to slow. He takes it all in, your silence, the way your eyes linger over him. He looks a bit dumbfounded for a moment. Then his eyes stray to your lips, and you lick them unconsciously.
Sweets swallowed.
"I..I do you.."
He's lost for words and you're embarrassed. You really hoped that if you just avoided him it would never be known. He spends most of his time with Booth and Bones, so you just hoped he'd be too distracted.
"I have to go."
You sidestep, rushing out the door. The second you're out, you feel like it's much easier to breathe.
"Damn it."
This is definitely going to be a problem.

Hi Bug! I wanted to ask about Sylvia. Specifically, what does she think of queerness?
You've mentioned that she's very religious (not that that necessarily means she has to be anti-lgbtq+ but it is common) but you've also mentioned that she'd pretty much be okay with anything Gene wanted to be or do. When she was alive, did she spare any thought for the kind of person Gene might fall in love with? If she was alive at the current point in the story and knew he was in love with Cassidy, how would she feel about that? (And not just because of the queerness aspect! What would she think of Cassidy in general?? Is he good enough for Gene???)
OOOUH THIS IS SUCH A GOOD QUESTION ANON UGHH
slightly long post incoming because i got sidetracked.. (≧▽≦) i touch on sylvia's ideals, gene's ex girlfriend (ooouh) and what sylvia would think of cassidy
✮⋆˙
okay so. while it is true that sylvia was religious, it was honestly more of a cultural thing (since she grew up in the south) than a personal thing if that makes sense
more than she was religious, she believed in kindess and love. that was why she never ever judged or faulted gene for being the way he was as a child. she loved how soft he was
she grew up around extremely homphobic ideals though, and part of why i love her as a character is because she was always so stubborn, even when it came to defying her family. the sad truth is if her father (gene's grandpa) knew how gene was being treated by clint, he wouldn't have too much of an issue with it. he'd proably agree with it, but sylvia was never one to not voice her opinions.
when it came to gene as a whole, the most important thing to her was that he lived a happy, long, and safe life. she would have been heartbroken to see how her death affected him but thats a topic for a different time.
when it came to who gene married, she did try to set him up with a friend's daughter. the girl was named vanessa, but everyone called her birdie (also a topic for a different time), and her and gene were childhood friends (she's the one who gave gene the name idea for calliope! they're still good friends!) . sylvia died before she ever saw gene and birdie begin to date, and then break up 7 months later when gene proposed to her. gene is kind of a disaster when it came to dating women. there was more to their breakup than that.
BUT I DIGRESS. all this is to say that sylvia did want gene to find love someday. despite her and clint's arguments, she did fall in love with him and she hoped for gene to experience that same early stage love that she did. i truly don't believe she would have cared if gene found that love in a man.
and now for if she was alive in the current time and met cassidy. i think her problem with cassidy would come less from the fact that he's a man and more from the fact that he's an outlaw that kills people and robs for a living, she would think its vulgar and dangerous and that cassidy should be locked away.
but then she sees the way gene looks at cassidy.
and its over. how can she argue with that? how can she say anything when her son is looking at cassidy like he'd the most precious thing in the world?
her opinion of cassidy also greatly changes when she hears about what kind of people he kills and what he does with the money he steals. and then, of course, it changes when she finds out about cassidy's past and montana. she starts to feel a bit protective of cassidy. once she sees how sweetly cassidy treats gene, shes sold. cassidy is a part of the family.
all sylvia has ever wanted for gene was for him to be free and happy and to be himself. when she sees that he's able to do that with cassidy, all reservations of gender or profession fizzle out. her son is happy and that's all that matters.
✮⋆˙
hope this answered your question! it got a little convoluted because i have so many Thoughts. sylvia is so special to me. UGH i love her. thank you for the question anon!!

Long convoluted tangent about why I think the Black sisters were closer than the Black brothers.
Sirius and Regulus, didn’t care for each other as much as we make it sound like they did. Sure, maybe they cared a little, but Sirius regards Regulus with a slight disdain in his later life, and even before that, we know that Regulus was canonically the golden child, so, Sirius probably regarded him with a bit of disdain then too.
This is going off of canon, so, the argument ‘we don’t care about canon’ doesn’t apply here, because I am talking about canon, the conversation is centered on canon.
I’d argue that the Black sisters were closer than the Black brothers, and I will be going on a long tangent about it.
Taking Androemda out of the picture for a moment, and just looking at Bellatrix and Narcissa versus Regulus and Sirius, the former would immediately win in terms of closeness, there is genuinely no argument you could use to say that Regulus and Sirius were closer than Bellatrix and Narcissa.
Now adding Andromeda into my argument; and before I hear “well Bellatrix and Narcissa hated muggles and muggleborns so obviously they hated Narcissa” shut up, Regulus also hated muggles and muggleborns so BONK SHHH. I’d argue that Bellatrix’s hatred for muggles also stems from Andromeda choosing Ted over them, in Bellatrix and Narcissa’s eyes at least. Furthermore, we don’t know of any favoritism between the three sisters, canon wise, sure, we can assume that Bellatrix was the favorite as she was the oldest, but, we could also assume that Narcissa was the favorite as she was the youngest, and stuck to the family’s values, or, Andromeda could’ve been the favorite as she was the middle child and the calmer of the two sisters, Sirius had stated that in the eyes of their parents, Regulus was the golden child.
To add even more to this, Andromeda, unlike Sirius, and like the rest of her family(before her daughter), was a Slytherin, now that matters because she spent a considerable amount of more time with her sisters, and because her being a Slytherin, means she was as she was supposed to be, in her family’s eyes, while Sirius was a Gryffindor, which meant he was already starting to get ostracized, but it also means he did not spend nearly as much time with Regulus as Andromeda did with her sisters.
Another thing that furthers my point is when the two got disowned, Sirius when he was sixteen, Andromeda when she was freshly graduated and when she had married Ted Tonks, it also matters on how they got disowned and why, Sirius ran away first, then got disowned after that, while Andromeda got disowned because she married a muggleborn, and after she married him.
I do suppose you could argue that Bellatrix and Narcissa hated Andromeda because of what Bella said in Deathly Hallows,
‘She is no niece of ours, my Lord,’ she cried over the outpouring of mirth. ‘We – Narcissa and I – have never set eyes on our sister since she married the Mudblood. This brat has nothing to do with either of us, nor any beast she marries.’
Though, I can see the clear implications in “have never set our eyes on our sister”, Bellatrix did not say that she or Narcissa hated her; sure, it could be implied, but I do not take it as such. Furthermore, this is Bellatrix, saying this, and in the context for that line, it was Bellatrix defending herself and involving Narcissa in it as well. Now, to further my point, Narcissa would have been between 15-16 when Andromeda was disowned, and while Narcissa considered Andromeda a blood traitor yes, we do know how strongly family means to Narcissa and how much it guides her choices, and around that age, siblings, sisters especially, mean the world to the younger ones, while with Bellatrix she was the eldest and probably felt anger and disgust, Narcissa was the youngest and probably felt more hurt.
On the topic of Narcissa’s disdain towards muggles, after Deathly Hallows where Draco marries Astoria Greengrass who didn’t believe in her own family’s pureblood ways, Narcissa didn’t approve of Draco’s wife yes, but she still loved her son. I would also argue that that’s Cursed Child however and, I personally take almost everything in Cursed Child with a grain of salt.
With everything we know about Narcissa and Bellatrix, and the few things we know about Andromeda, we can assume that Bellatrix felt betrayed and went with the immediate disdain and revulsion type of betrayal, while Narcissa felt betrayed in a more ‘how could you do this to me?’ way.
Oo, to add even more to this, Bellatrix’s disdain could’ve grown even more because of how close Andromeda and Ted were to the Order, and since Bellatrix was Voldemort’s right hand woman, and she was indefinitely devoted to him and his cause, that would’ve furthered her disdain and betrayal for her sister, while Narcissa was never a real Death Eater, nor did she have any allegiance to Voldemort, we can further prove this when she lies to his noseless face about Harry being alive, so, while Bellatrix’s betrayal would’ve burned hotter, Narcissa’s opinion was probably not very swayed.
Maybe I’ll make a follow up on this, but, from everything that we know, canon wise, the Black sisters were infinitely closer than the Black brothers, and felt more betrayed by their sister’s disownment, rather than how Regulus felt about Sirius’ disownment.

You know I love hearing your opinions on MCD stuff.
Thoughts on Shad?
Correlations between Shad/Irene and their relationship vs Aphmau/Aaron?
Opinions on Shad and his relationship with his daughter Alina?
Conflicts in Aaron over his past family (Lily and Jacob, I believe?) and his relationship with Aphmau?
This one is for a potential future fic, depending on the opinions of the rest of aphblr on my most recent poll: If Aaron ever asked Aphmau to marry him in MCD, would the stone in the ring be red or light lavender?
Sorry to ambush you with all these questions, but I couldn't help it. Take whatever time you need to answer <3
1. FUckkkkk Shad is SUCH a good character. Like he’s THE embodiment of a villain. Hero gone bad. And as much as I hate how he used Aaron’s body not only for a physical form but for his voice to manipulate Aphmau, it was brilliant and it added to how fucked he is. He’s like a top 5 favorite Aphmau character for me.
2. The characters having these powerful past lives and becoming powerful reincarnations is interesting in of itself, but even more interesting when you see how similar they act and their similar storylines. (How much do we want to bet that Irene also woke up in the middle of nowhere and suddenly had a conscious? Or would that be pushing the bounds of this time loop too far.). Irene makes a playful atmosphere when battling with Shad. Aphmau and Aaron’s relationship is serious to the naked eye but has an underlying playfulness, if that makes sense. Irene and Aphmau are both nonchalant, playful, extroverted, but most importantly, willing to help anyone who needs it even at the expense of their own mental and physical health. With Shad and Aaron, they both face a situation that leaves them scarred, distrusting, and angry. They solve everything by making others feel similar hurt, or as Aaron says, he solved everything with his sword. The difference is that Aaron found someone to make him a gentle and full being again, but Shad stayed consumed by his rage and continued to hurt others. Aaron changed, Shad got worse.
3. I honestly don’t know. Everyone seems to believe that Shad had a deep love for his daughter, showing when Irene turned her into a relic, but not only do we not really know anything about WHY she was turned into a relic, I just can’t place my finger on why Shad seemed so upset. “That’s his daughter too!” Is the argument but in mcd, Shad only focused on Alina being the keeper of his relic. He actually dehumanized her so much that he called her “my relic”. The only times he called her Alina was when he was attempting to manipulate Aphmau into telling him when Alina was. Maybe he could understand that Alina meant something to Aphmau in a way that didn’t connect to her holding a relic, but I don’t really think he cared about her in any other way. This is a controversial topic in the Aphmau community tho and I haven’t watched in awhile so feel free to educate me if you know more
4. There doesn’t seem to be much conflict about Aaron’s past family besides confronting his grief and allowing himself to love again. I would say that maybe Aphmau felt like she was competing against Lily for Aaron’s love but Aphmau was more mature than that. Aaron loved Aphmau separately from his late wife. Aaron loved Lilith separately from Jacob, so any conflict was likely internal.
5. OKAY. THIS QUESTION. I LOVE POTENTIAL FANFIC QUESTIONS BECAUSE IT GIVES ME INSPIRATION OF MY OWN <333 So personally I think he’d give Aphmau a light lavender ring. He knows she’d love the color and she’d love to wear it. I was originally going to say red so that she could always have a reminder of him with her but theres nothing more telling of the love someone has for their partner than picking a special accessory out in their favorite color. BONUS PIECE THO, a garnet ring to say “Lilith Garnet brought us together in a way no other situation or person could’ve”
TYSM FOR ALL OF THE QUESTIONS MWAH MWAH MWAH! I HOPE MY ANSWERS WERE HELPFUL! I’D LOVE TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE SAME QUESTIONS AS WELL!

hello beautiful person!, is it possible i could request a one shot with marc where you are stressed out because of work, you got sick, and you guys got into an argument that just put the cherry on top? i love your writing so much and i love angst and you were the perfect person i could think of. if you can not, i completely understand. thank you so much!!❤️
Tumblr media
Pairing: husband!Marc Spector x wife!fem!reader
Warning: angst (a lot), cursed words, mostly yelling dialogue
A/n: this fic genuinely broke me tbh, I love angst but sometimes it's a curse 😭 you said "cherry on top" and my job is to served
Summary: You are sick, physically and mentally because of Marc
Tumblr media
Y/n are sick.
She is so sick of her job and her husband that she becomes physically ill, vomiting up any food she forced herself to eat and crying over any minor inconvenience.
Everything is so hard. She thought marrying Marc was the right decision. Now look at her, sick and uncared for, alone with the emptiness and cold wind blowing through the window.
If it's not because of the wedding ring on her finger, people would think she is still single. That's what the old lady from the pharmacy store also thinks of. "You shouldn't be out when you're sick. Where is your husband?"
The question is like a knife digging inside Y/n's heart. She blinks her eyes a few times to stop the tears forming before asking how much the medicine is worth, earning a pity look from the old lady.
After buying some medicine, Y/N dragged herself home, eyes hazy and barely breathing through her nose. She remembers there is still some leftover soup in the fridge; maybe that will help her get better.
Y/n reached in her bag for the house's key, not realizing the door was not locked; someone had already been home before her.
"Babe...where have you been?"
Y/n doesn't even bother to answer Marc's question, her mind filled with the image of a piping hot bowl of soup.
"I said...where have you been?" Marc grabs Y/N's arm, stopping her from going to the kitchen. Maybe Y/n is getting too weak, she feels as if Marc's grip is a burning hot iron, ready to crush her arm.
Y/n held up the bag filled with pill tablet and a small bottle, eyes refused to look at Marc. She doesn't know how he is going to react, but that doesn't matter anymore. "I bought medicine. Can't you see? "
"Why don't you tell me you're sick? Babe, why are you hiding it from me?" The concern in Marc's voice only makes Y/n want to laugh, and she does. She laughs so hard that tears fill her eyes.
"Hiding? What are you talking about, Marc? I've been sick for WEEKS in my own house, which I share with my HUSBAND. Y/n pushed Marc away with her hand, making him stumble back in shock.
Before he could even say anything, Y/n glared at him and gritted her teeth. "No...no, you don't get to talk, it's still my turn, you hear me?"
Marc held up his hands in defeat, letting Y/n talk without interrupting her.
"I.am.sick of you. I don't know when you changed, Marc, but you're not the same man I used to know, or at least the same man I married. You're never home, you barely stay with me anymore, all because of your stupid superhero crap! " Y/n speaks with tears running down her cheeks. She doesn't even bother to wipe them off.
"Y/n...listen, I know you're upset, I know, but I can't just push my job aside, this is-"
"THEN WHY WOULD YOU EVEN MARRIED ME IN THE FIRST PLACE?"
Marc's speech got cut off when Y/n yelled at him, her whole body trembled with rage to the point she turn red.
"Ok now you're just switching the topic, what does me not knowing you're sick got to do with us marrying and my job?! GOD" Marc punches the wall in anger, making a big hole in it.
The loud noise makes Y/n stunned and intentionally takes a step back. She feels scared and worried about Marc. Before meeting him, Y/N knew he suffered from anger issues, but she brushed it off as it rarely happened, never in a million years would Y/N think she was now the victim of it.
As much as she knows Marc would never hit her, she can't live like this anymore.
"You're the most SELFISH IDIOTIC PERSON I HAVE EVER MET"
"WHAT DO YOU EVEN KNOW"
"Oh, I know a lot. Got nothing to do with your job? Marc are you FUCKING INSANE? You don't care about me anymore! Everyday I wake up and you are gone, and every night I sit in the kitchen with one light on, waiting for you to get home so I can heat up the food, and when you're finally home, YOU WENT TO SLEEP. "
"Because I am tired?! Imagine working almost 24/7 a DAY, I didn't told you to wait, you could go to sleep, LIKE A NORMAL HUMAN"
"I'm not just a normal human! I AM YOUR WIFE, Marc. I am your fucking wife. Could you imagine how my life would turn out if I hadn't married you? You wipe me off your life, how do you end up? Still the same superhero in your glamour suit. What if I wipe YOU off my life? My life would be...so much....so much better...than THIS"
Y/N kneels down to the floor, clutching her chest and lets out a painful cry. She doesn't care if the neighbors hear her, she doesn't care about anything anymore, this is her final straw.
Marc doesn't look so much better. It hurts him to see how much you're in pain. Your tears drive him insane. He just wants to hug you, to comfort you, but he knows you will never let him do that again.
Never.

NMTDaily: BIRDS
- There he is, folks. My favorite fictional character ever. In his first solo episode. I cannot be held responsible for the level of fangirling that must now commence.
- I mean, I was a lonely teenage girl watching this show in 2014, and he was a cute, nerdy, dark-haired guy with an accent. It was a foregone conclusion, shallow though it might sound. There was no way I was watching this show and not loving Benedick. Including when he’s being cringy and over the top. And then we peel back the layers and see that “having a new friend every week” just means Ben is ALSO desperately lonely and self-conscious? I was toast. It was so over for me, from day one.
- I love that his header image is just a piece of paper with The Ben Show written in messy Sharpie and he’s still acting like he’s presenting the most exciting show ever. The confidence! His icon image being him kissing his reflection and the username “benaddicktion” are also strokes of genius. The cocky, overconfident characterization is so strong just based on those choices. Truly a teenage version of the character from the play.
- We must note the heinous laser cat t-shirt and how Ben is matching Beatrice with her Grumpy Cat t-shirt in recent videos. Love it. Another parallel- they both have extensive collections of nerdy and random t-shirts. AND they’re both cat people!
- Set dressing: Ben has a horse lamp for some reason, which reminds me of “Hero, it’s Darcy on a horse!” Beatrice, meet your very own personal Darcy. He’s just, you know, a lot less shy and buttoned-up than actual Darcy.
- He also has several sports trophies on his desk there, I like that he’s accomplished. Proud of you Ben! A good soldier becomes a good football player, modern adaptation choices! (I can practically hear Beatrice snickering about them just being participation trophies though lol)
- The trophies do remind me of another question: why does Ben never try out for sports at university in Lolilo? He can go intramural just for fun, he doesn’t have to be on a scholarship or trying to go pro. Maybe anxiety??? Maybe he just wasn’t feeling it anymore, or maybe he did try and didn’t make whatever team? *adds to social anxiety headcanon evidence list*
- I always wanted to know what book was on Ben’s bed, and someone in the comments has come through for me! It’s Children of Huron by Tolkien even though that cover art looks like it should be literary historical fiction about a tragic married couple who are lighthouse keepers. Which is also a valid literary genre!
- He also has Game of Thrones books, another connection to Beatrice and her interests. You know they must argue about whether the books or show are better at least once offscreen.
- He also has a little rubber duck dressed like Shakespeare (thank you again comment section for your eagle eyes), which has catapulted me back in time to one of the NMTD fandom’s finest early crack!posts: the Beneduck. Born of an unholy typo made by yours truly these many years ago. (I only made the typo, though, not the edit. Credits for that at the link lol. Miss you both, hope you’re well.❤️ ) You’re welcome. 😂
- “A story about birds”- this reminds me, Ben doesn’t seem as upset about all the bird killings as someone who loves birds would be, so does that mean him loving birds wasn’t set in stone yet? I sometimes wonder if I’m misremembering Ben liking birds because Jake likes birds. But the flamingos are canon so I guess it is canon.
- “easily the best driver in Messina High School, no matter what Beatrice says” Oh, Ben is absolutely only making a video about this topic because he and Bea had another argument about this recently. He’d be like, “I’m an excellent driver” and she’d say, “oh yeah, how many living things have you killed” and that’s the true “how many hath he killed in these wars” moment!
- This video is, of course, intentionally, very cringe. But Ben is so damn good at making it likable. Honest props to Jake, the comments in this video are all loving Ben already because he makes him so likable and fun to watch make a fool of himself.
- Not even 45 seconds into Ben’s first video and he’s already mentioned Beatrice TWICE. Speaking of it’s so over- he was literally always obsessed with her. It’s adorable.
- “obviously he’s quite nervous- but it’s all good! He knows he can do this ‘cause he’s great.” Oh my GOD there it is! There it all is! His entire character. Ben gets so nervous- anxious- and he gets through life by ignoring that feeling and having a big head. Because if he keeps telling himself he’s wonderful and perfect and confident, then he can make himself believe that’s true long enough to get through the scary thing. I love him.
- The fact that Ben definitely scripted this and hunted down all these props ahead of time though. The water gun for the rainstorm! It’s so cute and earnest of him. It reminds me a little of Lizzie Bennet-style costume theater, but it’s puppet theater instead. Good thing, too, because some of these stories sound like they were extremely visceral and gory in real life 😬
- “Bird death rua” Ben knowing a little Te Reo Māori reminds me of another backstory question: how long has Ben lived in A/NZ at this point? He’s lived in Auckland since he was 13, because that’s when he met Peter/Pedro, the year leading up to the summer he was 14 and met Bea. But did he live in another part of A/NZ before that for a while? Or did he come from the UK at 13? I just feel like the timeline is important for the “has a new best friend every week” thing, and actually it could make sense if they lived in the UK for his early years (he didn’t know the reference to an A/NZ little kids’ tv show the flatmates made in Lolilo because he was too old when he moved there to have ever seen it), but then also maybe bounced around different parts of A/NZ for a while before settling in Auckland- he was always the New Kid and that’s why he comes on so strong in friendships and never believes they’ll last. But it’s also very cute if Peter and Beatrice are his actual first friends he makes in A/NZ right after moving countries. I don’t know.
- Extremely funny to me that Ben is a Taylor Swift fan since the moment we meet him. The artist who is stereotyped for only writing about Ben’s supposed least favorite thing, romantic relationships. It’s not even like he gets into her music while he’s coming to terms with his feelings for Bea, no, he’s already singing I Knew You Were Trouble back when he says he hates relationships and romance. Actually, goddamn, that’s a good song choice for him right now, when he sees Bea as the ex-best friend who broke his heart. She’s the one he knew was trouble when she walked in! She’s the one who puts him down!
- Now I am admittedly not a pet person, but it seems unusual for a teenager to be taking the cat to the vet by himself. He doesn’t hold the pet insurance policy, right? So this is the first moment that shows Ben is actually really independent and mature on some levels (foreshadowing), and that his parents are very hands-off. That’s partly because of the “parents must be absent so the kid can have a plotline fully unencumbered by rules and adult interference” trope. But I also always interpreted Ben’s parents as loving but emotionally neglectful. And that also contributes to his anxiety, loneliness, and wild self-esteem fluctuations. (It suddenly occurs to me that this interpretation of it being unusual for a teen to be able to take a cat to the vet by himself might be colored by the fact that I had severe social anxiety as a teen, so I literally could not have gone up to a person working a desk and asked for what I needed in most contexts. If it’s normal for a teen to take a cat to the vet alone, then never mind. But I still hold these headcanons.)
- He dedicated the video to Hero and Bea! Oh he was definitely so nervous and hyperaware that Bea was on the sidelines that whole game and he doesn’t know why it genuinely made him happy that she was there. He’s being sarcastic here, but still! Cute.
- As mentioned in one of my other NMTDaily posts, Ursula helped edit this video and Ben thanks her in the description, and I love that for them. Ursula is probably relieved that Bea hates the video too much to bother reading the description, or she would be mad at Ursula for being friends with him.
- I still can’t watch this video without thinking of the song “Live in Living Color” from the musical Catch Me If You Can. Really, it’s literally the perfect MT song to represent this video. I should find and reblog my old NMTD as a musical fanmix just for fun.
- You see? A big long analytical post about a video in which my cringy dorkass boy pretends to gnaw a bird-shaped oven mitt to death. I can’t even help myself.
- I am so behind on these but i promise I’ll catch up!

My Last Thing I’d Like
When you went to visit your parents, you had an unpleasant argument with them. Your livelihood problems came to the fore. This topic also made the topic of the day that you have been living with your boyfriend for 1 year.
Because you lived with your boyfriend, they accused you of neglecting your family. However, you were not someone who never called your family and did not come to their aid when they needed something. But you were an adult now and you couldn't spend as much time with your family as you used to. You should have put more effort into your boyfriend and your life.
This time they had gone further. They had made some unpleasant allusions about Aone. You've heard from relatives that you and Aone live with, and you've learned they've been gossiping about Aone being such a sullen, gram. On top of that, you were accused of embarrassing your family.
You would accept anything, but you would never tolerate being insulted to your boyfriend, whom you love with all your heart.
“Aone is never like that! Be careful what you talk about him! You may be my family, but you have no right to insult the man I love! Also…Aone treats me much better than you. He’s my family now! Please leave us alone! I really don't understand how you let our relatives talk behind our backs! It’s shame! It's really shame!”
Those were your last words to your family and you walked out the door behind you.
You were both angry and sad. You drove home as you jumped in your car. You tried not to cry on the way. If you cried, your eyes would water and your vision would blur. This situation could invite you to have an accident.
So you tried to contain yourself until you got home. They made you regret living with the man you love.
You never regretted it, but the rumors all around you made you give up.
You were a grown person. Aone was also a very kind and gentle boyfriend. You were living a very happy life together and you might even get married in the future.
Who had the right to spoil your happiness? Who had the right to upset you so much?
You parked the car in front of the house. You caught the elevator and went up to your shared flat. You opened the door with the key. As soon as you got home you threw off your shoes and threw yourself straight into the kitchen
You took a clean glass from the cabinet and filled it with water from the water dispenser. While you were drinking some water to calm down, Aone slowly approached you from behind.
"I didn't hear you come" he said calmly.
You put the glass in your hand noisily on the counter. It was obvious that you were a nerve block.
"Did something happen?" he asked you
You dismissed it by saying "Nothing"
"Are you sure? You gone beet red”
“Aone, I said nothing! Cut me a break!"
As your voice rose, Aone was certain that you were angry. He always knew you. That's why you couldn't hide any of your feelings from him
"Do you want to talk about it?"
“NO AONE GIMME A BREAK!! LEAVE ME ALONE OK? LEAVE ME ALONE!"
This is the first time you've yelled at your boyfriend in such anger. It was the first time Aone had seen you like this. Even though you shouted at him, he still kept his cool and never raised his voice at you.
He grabbed your shoulders gently and sighed
He turned his back on you as he said "let's talk when you calm down" and walked out of the kitchen
What did you just do? You hurt the person you love more than anyone and anything. You yelled at him. Even if Aone was hurt, she wouldn't show it. Even if he got mad at you, he never yelled at you.
He was someone who really cared about you, she. At that very moment, you felt a tightness in the middle of your heart. You thought you didn't deserve such a person.
You broke the heart of the man you loved because of those relentless voices in your head when Aone was not guilty.
What you just did was like an arrow in the middle of your chest. You were stunned as if you had hit a wall.
The sins of their gossipy relatives were on their necks.
You wanted to go to your shared bedroom and relax a bit. But rather than calm down, you were thinking about how to please Aone
You cried for minutes because you upset her.
You felt relief after an hour. Crying comforted you and helped clear your mind a little. It was as if all your anger had flowed away with your tears.
Now you could talk to Aone calmly and comfortably.
You put on some comfortable clothes and left the room. You called Aone at home. You looked in every room but it wasn't there. There was a balcony with pimapen that you didn't look at. Since he wasn't in the other rooms, it was likely that he was there.
You went to the balcony. You saw Aone with her back to you, watering your flowers.
You slowly opened the glass door of the balcony. Without trying to get his attention, you wrap your arms around his waist from behind. You put your forehead between his shoulder blades.
“Aone…sorry.”
He didn't answer you. He stayed put
"I made you feel sad, didn't I?"
Your voice trembled and you couldn't help but start crying again
“I didn't want to shout at you! I swear. The last thing I want to upset you is. I'm really sorry. I took my anger out on my family and relatives out on you. I don't deserve you Aone!!”
Aone's wide palm gripped the your hands meeting his waist. He put the watering pitcher in his hand down on the counter and turned to you. She wiped her tears with her fingers
"Please don’t cry. I feel sad when I see you sad"
“I'm really sorry for breaking your heart. I can't even describe it. You never yelled at me once, but I…”
He took you in his arms. He rested your head on his chest. Your arms were wrapped around his waist. Your tears were staining his shirt
“Shhh! Ok, don't worry anymore. It really upsets me that you cry and your sadness. No matter what others say, I love you y/n. Neither relatives nor families…no one can separate us”
It might have been Aone's longest speech ever. He couldn't stand your sadness. He patted the back of your head to calm you down. He leaned his head on her shoulder and kissed the junction of her neck and shoulder, inhaling your scent.
"I love you! I never want to hurt you! You deserve the best of happiness Aone"
“I love you too y/n. You deserve to be happy. I will never leave you. The last thing I want to lose you”

would love love love to hear any thoughts u want to share on the weed smoking grandpas au i absolutely LOVE everything vlr and especially everything here
hi. life is busy so it took me a hot second to answer this but anon i love you so much. I shall explain quark and his weed-smoking grandpas to you to the best of my abilties
so basic premise
so this is an "au" (in that its not DIRECTLY contradicted by canon. but also is) from the minds of me and my bestie remy @argentsunshine (read his ze fanfic) where long story short quark is raised by aoi light and junpei who have been hanging out since the radical-6 pandemic happened
short story long this somewhat connects to 'apocalypse au' which is again, just canon, where at the beginning of the apocalypse junpei finds light (who is looking for clover) and on their way to try and find clover they find aoi frozen in one of those freeze pods
because akane saw the future and knew that aoi would get rad6 and die early on in the pandemic so in akane fashion she put him to sleep and didnt tell him anything
so now these three guys are just kind of hanging together trying to find akane and maybe clover failing to find clover experiencing complex emotions about akane kurashiki. about 35 years later give or take . they find a baby
more random shit under the cut.
aoi is very vehement that young children should believe in santa claus light thinks its pointless and stupid junpei is stuck in the middle of this. "okay santa"s are thrown around in such arguments often. quark isnt really sure what to think
aoi and junpei are taking on more concrete parenting roles while light mostly sits in the background dispensing fun facts and the energy of a wine aunt crossed with an actual grandfather
light field known transgender was partly at fault for the name 'quark' aoi hates this
the major influence light had on quarks upbringing is that one day he looked at aoi "stopped regularly attending school at age eight" kurashiki and junpei "not a great student who then also dropped out" tenmyouji and said someone has to teach this child. and started trying to teach him stuff that's so far above a child's level
from our google doc light aoi and junpei quote " spent a while searching slash forming an increasingly confusing polycule (aoi and light are together light and junpei are not romantically involved and not not romantically involved but a secret third thing junpei and aoi are. good question)"
junpei and light got married for tax reasons but aoi and light who you'd more expect to be married aren't so quark is very confused about what marriage as an institution entails
every time the topic of why him and aoi arent married comes up light gives a whole spiel on why marriage as an institution is heteronormative and outdated and then someone points out hes still married to junpei and light says what of it
anyways theres more to this but its split between an actual google doc and random screenshots of discord dms so that's all for now. if enough people like this post maybe i can bully remy into writing more actual stuff for this au
