Are you really being accountable?
Are you really being accountable?
In the last handful of years, there has been an increased focus on being accountable and taking responsibility for our actions. I have really appreciated seeing the energy and attention towards wanting to do and be better, primarily birthed by GenZ and Millennials. It’s about time!
But are we truly being accountable, or are we just telling people what we’ve done wrong and why we did it? Are you…

Mom, I'm Gay Review
5/5 stars
I absolutely love this website and will always be up for rereading it. It's a heartwarming story about being gay and how it's always easier when you're around accepting people. The story was more focused on family relationships than romantic ones. Although we do get to see Rin and Jun in relationships later on in the story, One of my favorite parts of this webtoon was how Jun's mother decided to get educated by reaching out to a club and getting books on the matter. I loved how she tried to understand more about her son's sexuality. I will say that the way she found him is rather triggering as he got outed.
If you can handle seeing a toxic relationship and a character being outed, this is a great recommendation for someone who is trying to get a better understanding of the gist of being queer. It's not necessarily the best representation, but it's a good start.
SPOILERS AHEAD:
I am glad we got to see Hana's backstory as to why she doesn't like Jun. That still doesn't justify the fact that she outed him when he wasn't ready to come out. I kind of saw this scene coming, but it still shocked me nonetheless. Also, we do see Jun get into a toxic relationship. I did feel like the car scene was excessive, but I'm glad he went to jail.

It starts with me…
If I don’t start working on my own self, and inner self soon, there’s going to be a “Shit Show” in town quick. Plus I have my son’s I have to start setting an example for. It’s tougher than shit when you’ve lived like a savage for more than half your life. I want everything for them i didn’t have, but needed. Like two parents that care more about the message, and mental perception being cast on…

I can imagine after Jason's death Tim wasn't like a therapist instead he was bullying Bruce into therapy, during a fight Bruce goes "I don't need another robin, I don't need help" and Tim just stands aside and watches Bruce get his ass kicked while throwing our random tidbits of therapeutical advice.
I can definitely see this as a different hc as well.
Tim has perfected the Disappointed Stare™ as he watches Bruce in a fetal position getting kicked by a basic goon. Sometimes, when he's really tired babysitting the man, he'll allow the goons to get a few extra kicks in.
He also seems like the type not to intervene when he told Bruce exactly what was going to happen. It's not Tim's fault the man refused to listen to him.
Tim operates on spite, being right, manipulation, and bullying someone for their own good. If the bat-loving depressed middle-aged man wants to be sad by being mean to everyone else, the kid will sign him up for furry support groups. He'll get Alfred on his side to force Bruce to attend those meetings.
Tim Drake is not a licensed therapist, and he'll make damned sure that Bruce knows that. If the man wanted professional help instead of relying on bullying by a kid, the man could afford to do that. Instead, he has a thirteen year old putting itching powder in the batsuit when Bruce refuses to take it off after 27 hours.

‘I’m your beloved son, The Professor!’
‘You both got it wrong, but since I love you, I’m gonna give a point to both!’
‘Well, I’d say in the future, your mother and I love you.’
‘What isn’t fair is that I spent so much of my dumb dinosaur life not having a wonderful little blue son.’
‘Alright family, showtime.’

I respect that post about "found family" being misused as a term because people overlay nuclear family structures but actually I rarely see that. It is far more frequent to see people trying to force speedrun a group of loosely connected characters into a lifelong bond so they can call it found family, OR getting mad that a genuinely tight-knit group still has their own separate lives outside just each other and don't all live in one big house. Found family can be great but sometimes characters are just friends or not even that, and that doesn't mean the story is any worse for it. And even if they are a found family that does not mean they will always get along nor constantly be within ten feet of each other until the end of time.
