you’d think since dick was a mathlete hed b the number one guy to ask for help w math homework but actually he knows so much advanced math that the first time tim asked him for help with a simple geometry problem he pulled out his dusty ti-84 and started solving it in the most convoluted way that took an hour bc he was also just trying to relearn the math he hadn’t done in like 5 years. cue him screaming in frustration when he realized the actual way to do it would’ve taken him 2 minutes (tim asked him at the beginning if that way was right and he waved him off saying no) none of the batsibs can ask him for math help until they get to pre-calculus at least

I get why people headcanon that Trucy would call Edgeworth "Uncle Miles" because it represents how close he is to Nick and Trucy and how he's basically part of the family etc. HOWEVER I cannot help but imagine the shock and horror of passersby who hear Trucy call one man "uncle" and one "daddy" as they watch Nick and Miles interact lovingly in public and come to the conclusion that Nick is openly cheating on his spouse with his spouse's brother.
#they're like “oh my god and he has a daughter... this affair must be tearing the family apart has he no shame”#I do in general like the idea of kids calling your friends uncle or aunt. Very it takes a village to raise a child#it's often a cultural thing to call everyone aunt and uncle too which i do in my family!#I just don't love it when the dad and friend-uncle are ambiguous lovers!!! But this is a lighthearted complaint. I jest#i don't think people would think they were brothers thank god but that would be equally unfortunate if not more so#I personally enjoy a Mr. Miles/ Miss Trucy dynamic where Miles is formal with her but kind of as a joke#and FOR HIM that is intimate and close bc usually he uses people's last names (he calls maya miss fey)#I don't think Edgeworth could ever be anything but Miles to Trucy idk#Not in a bad way! I just think like.... he's not her dad in the same way... he would be very stiff and awkward but care for her deeply#like i don't think he would ever be a very cuddly huggy kind of paternal figure for her.#he would do that dad thing where he's like oh you mentioned you like this candy I will by you a huge case of it#he would be like i heard you like magic so i watched a documentary on it so we can discuss it intellectually#He would stay up late to help her with her math homework#ace attorney#trucy wright#phoenix wright#miles edgeworth#dadnix#dadworth#narumitsu#i am a queerplatonic narumitsu truther but I am willing to let them be romantically in love when it's funny

So you know how sometimes you do something as a kid or a teenager and you think it's totally normal and then the memory pops into your head as an adult and it suddenly recontextualizes the whole thing? Anyway shout out to my super nice high school math teacher, who also had the misfortune of being A. the first teacher to give me a syllabus that (crucially) included point totals and how grades were calculated B. scored tests as like 75% of the grade and C. allowed us to take tests as a group All those factors combined into two incidents that, in retrospect, he was in no way expecting to deal with but teenage me thought were totally normal (behind a read more because it got long)
The first was when I stopped doing math homework not long into the school year and he stopped me after class to (very kindly, very gently) ask me if I was okay and if everything was okay at home, because I'd stopped doing my homework but he knew I knew the material. I said "I stopped doing the homework because I crossed the threshold on the point totals on the rubric where I no longer need to turn in any homework to get an A." He paused, kinda blinked at me, and said "That only works if you get 100% on every test" I kind of stared back at him in blank incomprehension, and was like "Yes????" "What happens if you don't get 100% on a test?" "Well. I do get 100% on every test, but if I ever miss a question, you offer extra credit questions on every test" He didn't know what to say to that lol The other time was when he announced future tests would be allowed to be worked on in groups of three or four, and I walked up to him after class and said "Any group I am in will be getting 100% on the tests. That is unfair to the other groups, and unfair to the people in my group, who will not get a chance to test their skills because I am not risking my grade on their math abilities. Can I take the tests solo?" Again, teenage me thought this was a perfectly normal, logical thing to do, but looking back as an adult like oh my gosh there is no way my poor math teacher was expecting to have to deal with that. He did let me take math tests solo I tried the "calculate points then stop doing the homework" thing in my English class the next year and it did not work because that teacher had an "extra credit doesn't count if you haven't done all your assignments" policy :(

math, math, math
Just got done with the tasks and it was harder than it should’ve been. I’m so tired that I can’t understand shit and I misread the tasks multiple times, which meant extra work…still tired, still feeling poorly. Having to find a new therapist is messing up my mood. Classes continued like they did last week: with my tutor and my classmates dropping transphobic comments. At least I found the mistake I made in one of my math problems…

DP x DC ramble: Types of power
Now, in this particular fandom, there’s a tendency to make an OP Danny
That’s a neutral statement, a lot of people just happen to like and post OP Danny
For the most part, not my taste but it can be fun in some contexts, but overpowered Danny isn’t my default
Now, Danny is physically strong. His abilities are combat focused and he can hold his own in a fight. He probably has a little less physical strength than you’d think since he uses gravity nullification to lift heavy things, but it’s impressive regardless. He has a goodly variety of offensive and defensive abilities that make him formidable is a fight
But the strongest characters in DC aren’t necessarily strong in that way
Superman is physically very strong, incredibly powerful, but he’s still nowhere near the level of the actual strongest characters, because their power is a very different type
Like I’m talking reality manipulation, omniscience, abilities that involve power over people’s very souls (and a ghost is a human soul) and where they end up. Psychopomps and some much more. I’m talking about beings that can mold the flesh of humans to remove something like a cancer and repair damage with barely a thought
And they’re mainly held in check by rules, mostly just being polite, sometimes Divine laws
This is a type of power Danny is not equipped to handle
It’s a very different game than Danny is playing. He can physically throw down, he might have an army if it’s Ghost King AU, but this is “can kill you with a literal snap and the snap is just for dramatic effect” territory
Danny is playing high school American football, these characters are playing Professional soccer aka what every other country calls football
It’s a very different game, and if he’s trying to play with them, he’s going to struggle
And that’s fine, he can still be OP and not be playing on the same field as Lucifer, or the Spectre, or various demon lords and so on, because it’s a different kind of power
But just arbitrarily saying he’s more powerful really undersells why they are powerful. Being able to punch good is not the same as a character that can just send him to the afterlife. Someone being able to reshape Danny’s body at their will isn’t going to be concerned about his ecto blasts
A Tuna is a big fish, but the ocean is VAST and DEEP
All this to say you’d have to drastically alter Danny’s actual power set to make him able to compete, otherwise you’re just de-powering the actual strongest characters, which is less impressive since it missed the point of WHY they were strong
Just because you can solve a sheet of math problems doesn’t mean you’re going to be able to ace a three page essay on the poetry of Keats
This has been my thoughts on the matter, be sure to grab a souvenir from the gift shop
Also just going to sneak this in:
Danny should probably be more concerned about magic users
Magic clearly can affect him, just look at the Freak Show incident from season one, that’s not even getting into the reality gauntlet. Now add in the fact that there’s a variety of magic items/artifacts in DC and a slew other of magic uses and occultists that can summon and bind ghosts, spirits, and demons to do their bidding
Danny is firmly in the category of beings that magic specifically deals with, he should probably be a bit more concerned about magic users

ooo
Tumblr media
I called Tom, he was a genius at maths and I was terrible. I was struggling with my maths assignments and homework and needed him to help me since I was so close to failing.
"Hey baby, can you come over? I need help with my math homework" I winced, he chuckled over the phone, "yeah alright liebe, I'll be there in 10"
As he arrived we went up to my room, I layed out everything for him and started to study. Instead of paying attention I'd drift off, daydreaming anytime he'd explain an equation.
He slowly got frustrared and snapped me out of my trance, "baby, how about this, since you weren't listening to anything I was saying" but I was.." I interruped, he gave me a 'really' look, I giggled, "fine fine I wasn't, continue" "as I was saying, for every right answer you get I'll kiss you", my eyes lit up and I instantly turned to him, accepting his idea.
"Yes yes!" I squealed, flipping to the start of the homework. He explained some things to me beforehand and then starting to ask questions. "So what's the square root of 64?", "uhh....8?" he smirked and nodded, "goodjob baby!" leaning in and kissing me softly.
I grinned, a huge stupid smile plastered on my face.
We continued to go through the answers, whimpering when I got it wrong. Sometimes he'd give me the benefit of the doubt if I was close enough and kissed me anyway.
We were through our last set of questions and these were hard, I bit my nails nervously as he read the question, "what is x3+y3+z3=k?" I felt sweat beads form on my forehead, knowing all the revision I learnt but still not being able to add it up.
I decided to take a guess, "uhh..42?" his eyes widened, "y-yeah..fuck.." he stuttered, checking the answer book. "How did you get that? Even I find it challenging!" he chuckled, "I don't know baby I just guessed, it felt like the right number" I shrugged, leaning in and smashing my lips into his.
We pulled back and he whispered softly in my ear, "I think my good girl gets a reward" he smirked, eyes darkening with lust. I bit my lip and layed back on the bed, Tom removing my shorts and panties and laying down, his head in between my legs.
He softly kissed my pussy, parting the folds with his tongue. My hips bucked up slightly, moving into his touch.
"Mm! Tom don't tease!" I whined, grabbing his dreads roughly and tugging on them, "ok ok" he chuckled, finally latching his mouth onto my clit, sucking it softly.
I gripped onto his dreads tighter, earning a low moan from him, the sound vibrating on my clit and making me shudder. He flicked my sensitive nub with his tongue, sliding a finger up and slowly pushing it in my soppy cunt.
"So wet..fuck" he groaned, adding another finger and thrusting in brutally, curling his fingers at my g spot.
I threw my head back, enjoying the pleasure way too much, my grip tightening even more on his dreads. He seemed to enjoy the pain, groaning everytime I tugged on them.
His tongue and fingers were so good, moving in a way that made me crazy. It was literally like taking drugs, I was high off of his touch. He continued to suck on my clit, kissing it sweetly to tease me occasionally.
I felt my high slowly bubbling up inside me, my stomach twisting into a knot. "Gonna cum soon! Keep going!" I whimpered, thrusting my hips into his face, his fingers started to thrust into me harder now, making slight squelching noises from my juices.
"Cum for me, be my good girl again" he grunted, licking and sucking faster now, pleasure waves crashing into me, hitting me like a truck. I felt the knot twist even tighter, my heat burning as I came, legs twitching and slick dripping all over his fingers.
He smirked and pulled his fingers out, sucking everything I gave him off and cleaning me up with his tongue. "Fuck..you taste so good" he climbed up and pulled me closer to him, his chin and mouth glistening with my cum.
I chuckled and wiped it off with a tissue, "you're such a messy boy, can't resist me can you, hm?" I smirked, kissing him softly. "Can you blame me, you're so gorgeous" he flipped me over, hovering over me and kissing me deeply.

interesting ideas about AI art and by no means am I trying to send hate but I believe majority of people hate AI art is because it's truly just the byproduct of a giant plinko board bouncing through pieces of art made by artists who put love and care and SOUL into their work. A visual product of a math formula. While it's "art" in the most litteral sense, not having a true human behind it putting though and effort into its every detail, for many people (myself included) devalues it from a tradition artists work.
I'm a firm believer in the idea that AI art is inherently unequal to non Ai art, specifically for this reason. (Hope this made sense sorry if it's incoherent)
I agree in that sense there. I personally do not find myself wanting to engage in a work when I purposefully know the creator had used AI to create the entire product. Something something,,,I cannot find myself getting invested in something that is little more than a product. I don't wanna read a fic about my blorbos when it was written by Chat-GPT
I also agree with the idea that a lot of people hate AI art because of this heavily emotional, debatably reactionary mindset that stems from one thing: fairness. It's the same sort of emotion I find one gets if all of the work on a group project gets shafted onto them whilst their fellow peers sit idly by. It feels unfair to sink hours into your craft, spending all this time fighting to develop your skills and flourish as an artist, only to see someone type half a paragraph and have a machine spit back something that looks not half bad. Let's be honest with ourselves here and say that AI art, at least in a visual regard, has progressed quite a bit to the point where most of the mistakes people find can be dismissed as wonky perspective and the line art being a bit fucky, which is something a ton of artists struggle with too
People develop a sort of a superiority complex over it. I can't blame them honestly. A number of times I've felt it too when people tell me they're using Chat-GPT as though it were Google and when I see my family members and friends playing around with AI art. I gotta bite my tongue and choke back a chortle, both because it's kind of a dick move and also because I don't want to relish in this feeling. It's infectious though to feel as though you have an edge over another person just because you abstain from using Chat-GPT or whatever. Not to be all "grrgrgrr you should LOVE Chat-GPT and if you dare to say anything bad then you are EVILL!!" of course though. It's emotions. They're messy, intense, and oftentimes you don't really realize when you're feeling since you get locked into your perspective. Yet, I think it's important to realize a lot of hatred of this generative AI stems from emotions. Reactionary ideals and claims stem from emotions after all
I think ultimately what the conversation about generative AI should revolve around is about the concerns of labour. The several strikes from a while back from VFX artists and scriptwriters come to mind. They are most at stake from generative AI as tools like Chat-GPT are cheaper and more cost-effective than paying an actual employee for their time and effort. I would also mention the environmental issues, but if we were to talk about that we would also have to acknowledge the fact that so, so much water is being used up daily to generate power for servers. Hell, this post alone will probably contribute to drying up some marsh in the greater scheme of things
Anywho yada yada TL;DR: I agree yes but I also think it's important to recognize that a good chunk of your hatred to Chat-GPT stems from feeling cheated and a sense of pride and superiority over others for simply not using it. There is no quality to Chat-GPT that makes it inherently evil. I can't get upset at my grandma for sending me a photo of her and her dog that went through an AI anime filter. I can feel maybe some exhaustion when seeing a fellow classmate using Chat-GPT to write their essay, but ultimately I write my own work for the love of the game. I can get upset however at those in higher power who use it to push artists out of jobs. Chat-GPT is a tool that has its pros and cons and I think it's reductive to just basically sit there and hiss like a vampire when presented with a cross when faced with the mere word "AI", especially when your only big argument for disliking it is based purely in feeling cheated when someone types a prompt into a program and art that would've taken you seven hours to draw gets spit out in about a minute or two
#sp-rambles#Not to mention there's nuance to be had when discussing students and employees using AI to do menial tasks#I'd rather students use something like Wolramalpha or whatever to do their math homework as Chat-GPT is functionally useless#I've seen it straight-up make up proofs and just do shitty math that SEEMS right on the surface but is meaningless when actually applied#And I also would hope that a student would write the damn essay instead of handing it off to Chat-GPT#As essays (in particular crit lit ones) are designed so you show the capacity to analyze and think about ideas presented to you#But ultimately I think Chat-GPT is seen as a release from these things since let's be real it is pretty agonizing to do homework at times#It's a convenient solution that encourages a person not to participate and learn but to hand off their work onto a tool#It provides respite. It saves one from restless nights and staying awake till the morning churning out a barely comprehensive paper#Once more I do not like generative AI. I don't use Chat-GPT#I think it is only important to see the other side. To comprehend why a person may do things and to recognize your own short-comings#For example I've interacted with a number of international students who have said they use Chat-GPT or other generative AI to help study#because English is their second language and they can't afford to sit there in agony trying to understand something in a unfamiliar languag#Not when their families back home are paying 20 grand a semester to help them get a degree and they also need a to work eight hours to live#There's a nuanced discussion to be had here other than generative AI good or bad#Anyways enough rambling I need to get back to mass reblogging sad white boy and yellow cloak man yaoi and watch YouTubers play video games#ask
