I don't know who needs to hear this but whatever you are going through right now - you are not the first nor the last person to experience it. We all go through friendless phases in our lives, we all experience heartbreak and soul wrecking pain, we all feel lost and alone sometimes and we all felt directionless at some point in our lives. And I just wanted to tell you that whatever it is that's making it difficult for you to breathe - it will pass. No wave will overlay you forever. No darkness lasts forever. New waves and new days will come and you will be ok again.
But for now, just remember that even if you feel like you have nothing left, you still have new sunsets and coffee that comforts you and new books and characters you can fall in love with, and flowers and autumn leaves and everyday you can wake up and start a new hobby or rewatch the series you have seen a hundred times already. New days will bring new hope and you will be ok again.

what exactly is self care?
self care: the practice of taking an active role in protecting one's own well-being and happiness, in particular during periods of stress. (googles version)
self care: self care is something that originates with you, makes you feel better and spiritually brings you closer to yourself. (my version)
self care could be a way of making yourself feel better, starting new habits, setting a new goal, and learning to love yourself. self care should be originated by you, not someone or something you see online. "the answer to your problem is never going to be someone else telling you what to do" - Dr Pooja Lakshmin, The real self care.
ideas of what to do for self care:
daily movement- going on a walk, doing some exercise, pilates, yoga are all great ways to boost moods and keep you productive.
meditation- meditation is a great way of embracing your inner self and keeping calm.
start a journal and journal everyday- journalism is a great way to achieve goals, reduce stress, and overall become a better version of yourself. ( i can give journal prompts is wanted ⊹˚. ♡)
read a good book!- i know this might sound a little nerdy or boring but reading is a great way to bust boredom and learn new things ( i can give book recommendation for different topics ⊹˚. ♡)
give yourself a positive affirmation everyday- this will improve your positive thoughts and self esteem.
do a face mask- find one for your skin type and put it on, they feel so nice and refreshing!
remember: "the answer to your problem is never going to be someone else telling you what to do"

Gonna get things off my chest post
So I haven't been very active in almost a year, and I can say because it's been a really horrible hard year for us. My eldest who is nearly 16 was attacked in June last year by a group of kids while he was out with his girlfriend celebrating their one year anniversary, he had his shoes stolen right off his feet and was whacked round the back of his head and one of the kids (there were 12-14 kids around just those 2) tried to force him up so they could all take a turn trying to beat him up. Since then he's been suffering from anxiety and depression and ptsd. He's gone missing in the dead of night twice and has said on multiple occasions he wants to end things. We are still in court proceedings as because of his footage the police were able to itendify these kids as the same group that have been doing calculated gay bashings to adult men and almost leaving them for dead at times. So far they have been charged with 11 of these hate crimes plus my sons, so it has been a very long stressful process for us! We are still waiting on counselling for him and are getting really desperate for help from the mental health sector.
Then just before christmas my husband had COVID and now has been diagnosed with long COVID, has been having heart and lung problems and a lot of lack of sleep and then to top it off, diagnosed with high cholestrol, and now they want to send him for tests for colon cancer. So thats a whole lot of new stress as we were told this at the start of the week.
Because of the stress my mental health has taken a toll and the final straw came for me when I sat watching a show and started bawling like I'd lost my best friend when a character died. So I went to the docs for medication which has been helping. To top that all off I have really bad back problems lately that I was sure was siatica but tests have shown absolutely nothing wrong, but yet the pain is indeed real!
So long story short, life is shit right now, and if anyone reading this feels like they are suffering mental health (or any health problem) please get it checked! If you have a lot on your plate and feeling the strain the first thing needed is to help yourself so you can be there for others!
So today I've finally had a chance to sit down and open my sims, its been almost a year and I found this build in the works, which is a reno of one of my first builds I ever uploaded to mts! Hopefully I can work on this more and get it finished!
Sorry for the big long story, I don't usually talk about my personal life here, but opening up the game made me realise I haven't used the sim as my stress relief in almost a year just wanted to share why I haven't been very active.

For all the imperfect elder daughters
As a human, I have so much empathy for my father but as a daughter, I have so much anger. The anger I bottle up as to not betray my dearest, world-deserving mother is concerning. I think it has the capacity to burn me inside, just that I don’t let it. Because that’s who I always was. The eldest daughter. My role is to suppress my feelings to make everyone’s lives easier.
There is also a stereotype that all older daughters are perfectionists. They are good at everything. Academics, sports, and life in general. And, hey, that stereotype doesn’t come from nowhere. I personally have seen older sisters being the perfectionists, whether in my family or in my friends’ family.
But it’s okay if you’re an elder daughter and not all that. It is okay. Let that sink in. You will have some responsibilities and pressure on you, but it’s normal to be confused sometimes, to get only decent grades or to suck at sports. Nobody is 100%.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if this message somehow found it’s way to you then there’s a reason for it. I know I can’t be the only one that has felt sad or depressed at times throughout the last month or like you were losing your true self and what makes you, you. Don’t be embarrassed or judge yourself for feeling these things because at the end of the day we all have felt this way at some point. Admitting to yourself you’re not in a good place mentally can be a hard thing to do let alone admitting it to others. It’s completely ok to be sad, but know you’re not alone and you don’t have to go through it by yourself. It’s ok to reach out for help. If anything it’s encouraged. Don’t prevent yourself the chance to heal and grow and move towards a happier and healthier journey through life just because you don’t want to “burden those you love with talking about your internal struggles”. I say this because I know that’s how my mindset has always been, but I’ve learned lately that’s not how you get through the tough times. The real people in your life will never see you as a burden and will always want to be there and support you in not just the good, but the hard times as well. If you’re reading this and life has been putting you through the ringer, or if you feel you know someone that is going through it send that message and remind them how important they are to you. Find something to make you smile today, do something to make another smile and just remember sometimes there’s nothing more healing than a quality cry session with a wonderful friend ❤️ You are seen, you are heard and most of all you are loved.
