Rosekiller is THAT couple that keeps having on and off relationships. Sometimes their breaks are longer (up to a few months) sometimes shorter (a few days/hours). But in the end they realize that they cant live without each other and try again.
They need one another to survive, yet they keep destroying each other. Its a deadly spiral of lust, love and madness.

Sex scenes don't bother me as much as kiss scenes. When the characters are making out in a way that indicates it will lead to sex, I'd scream at the screen "Just take off your pants and start grinding under the covers already!" because I cannot watch them mash their mouths together for another second.
That being said, I'm not a huge fan of sex scenes because firstly—I can't take the movements seriously, and if there's sound effects, there's also a high chance of me laughing. Secondly, the squishiness of the human body is another thing I can't take seriously. When I first watched the Only Friends trailer, and I saw that scene where Sand thumbs Ray's tattoo, I thought it was a butt tattoo because of the way the skin bounced in slow-motion, but no, it's actually a hip tattoo; the human skin is just that springy on every part of the body. While everyone was going crazy because of the tattoo-touch, I'm laughing because the bounce was so pronounced.
Basically, kiss scenes ick me out while sex scenes are comedy.
omg that sounds like such a fun way to experience sex scenes tho!! i wish my reaction was more like that rather than convulsion. i'd much rather experience a comedy show tbh dfjkkdgj
also interesting point you bring up about the human body being so squishy. i never really thought about it but yeah. human bodies are just so weird?????? actually, only the other week i was talking with another friend (who's likely also ace-spec) about just how humans (and tbh even animals) will just have things dangling from them?? whether it be genitalia or boobs or whatever. like, those body parts are just... hanging there?? and technically even your arms but at least you can control those. meanwhile my boobs will just bounce depening on what movements i make and i can't control them and they're just hanging from my chest while i go about my life. like, why?? i want dog boobs where you mostly have just the nipples and they only really get big when i have an actual child to feed (i know human breasts also swell when they fill with milk during a pregnancy, but why do i have to have two balls of meat hanging from my chest even when i'm not pregnant?? who thought of this design??). coming back to your point of the human body being so squishy and actually yeah, i'm realizing now that i can't take it seriously when people talk about how hot boobs are precicely because boobs are so squishy and also so wobbly and just. how is this not funny to people? dkdfjdjfk
and lmao i remember everyone going crazy over the tattoo!!!!! i realized right away that it's on the hip but maybe that was bc i remembered the placement of it from the eclipse. which is also why that scene didn't make me laugh, i was actually too busy trying to read what it said bc in the eclipse we never got to see that tattoo up close enough in order to be able to read it. so while everyone was freaking out i was just sitting in my corner like "omg so the tattoo says 'beautiful'???" i'd been wondering about it for a year ever since the eclipse, so i was just excited to finally know what it says bc i'm a nosy ass bitch lmao
anyway, i love hearing about your experiences. it's so fascinating how varied the ace experience can be and how specific things affect everyone differently. and i think it's also cool to hear what things other ace people pick up/focus on while the allosexuals are busy drooling over whatever is happening on screen dkjkdkjg
the kissing... idk, i can't tell you why it doesn't actually bother me that much or why i might even enjoy it. although i do have to say, the act of kissing does look extremely weird. sometimes (usually during longer kiss/make-out scenes) i'll be sitting there and suddenly it'll hit me that "actually kissing looks SO strange, whose idea was it for kissing to be a thing??"
sometimes in my head the kissing just conjurs up the image of a fish opening and closing it's mouth, like so:
Tumblr media
except, you know, kissing involves two people so in reality it's more like:
Tumblr media
#i hope you don't mind that i'm publishing this on my blog again!#i'm just thinking it might be interesting for other people as well to read about our varied experiences#do let me know if you want me to go private (or just hop straight into my dms <3)#asks#actually a random memory popped into my head while i was writing this#remember how in my other reply i said kiss scenes sometimes bore me?#actually in the first and only relationship i've been in i actually would sometimes pretend to be asleep#(even though i struggle with sleeping and can fall asleep during the day ONLY when i'm sick or under a serious lack of sleep)#i pretended to be asleep to avoid my then-bf turning the cuddling session into a make-out session#bc making-out just bored me so much as an activity lmao#(it didn't necesserily bother me or gross me out but yeah i just thought it was insanely boring)#(i still went along with it the way you'd sit through your friend's fave movie even tho you personally find it super dull)#(bc i didn't have the heart to tell him i wasn't all that into it dkfjkdg)#(actually he once made a comment how ''the two of us couldn't go a day without kissing each other!!'' and out loud i agreed#but in my head i was like ''oh i EASILY could 🤭🤭🤭'')#(again i didn't say the truth bc he was a really sweet guy and i just didn't want him to feel upset at my lack of enthusiasm about him)#to this day i have no idea if the guy was the problem bc i didn't have strong enough feelings for it or if it was bc of my asexuality#i didn't know about asexuality back then but if i'd known i might have figured it out right then and there that i was ace lmao#(it took another 2 years until i got there)

Should I be scared of being 20, because I'm turning this year and I'm already dreading it
you're not wrong for feeling that way, but try not to base that fear off what i'm going through.
being 20 is not likely to feel much different than being 19. it's not so much anything unique about being 20 that sucks, it's just that being 20 tends to coincide with a period of your life where you're going through major life changes, and while it's not as acknowledged as your teen years, a lot of brain/emotional development as well. graduating high school and pursuing higher education/a career/whatever path you end up going down is a major upheaval of the norms you're used to especially if you move away from home in that time, and it's normal to feel unbalanced and overwhelmed by the shift. add other life changes, even good ones, and it's no wonder that people talk about their 20s like the world is ending
my late teens and early 20s hit me particularly hard because of the powerful combo of the pandemic, graduating high school, getting a retail job, gaining and losing a girlfriend and the re-evaluation of my orientation that came with that, moving out of my parents house less than willingly, starting my medical transition, struggling with how i want to approach college and what i want my future to deal with, and other events that i'm probably forgetting.
i've also already struggled with depression and anxiety at least since i was in middle school, though i was diagnosed in high school, plus the highly suspected autism and adhd that i never sought a diagnosis for, with the depression+anxiety+suspected adhd being completely untreated at this point in time for a lot of reasons. combine this with the very real possibility that chronic pain is in my near future due to having a family history of it on my mother's side, and it very quickly begins to make sense why i always seem to be in such an awful state.
all this to say, your 20s are going to look quite a bit different than mine. the fact that i'm constantly in some kind of crisis or breakdown is not a reflection of what it's like to be in your 20s, and it's not a prediction of what your future is going to be like.
at the same time, though, it's okay if you are scared. it's natural to be wary of the unknown, and the future is nothing but unknowns. you're not alone in that fear, and it doesn't make you week to feel that way. and i know "do it scared" gets tossed around pretty flippantly these days, but that really is the answer, you gotta do it scared.

Choose Us!
In which you have to decide on a dorm to become part of.
Part 2: You choose the dorm
Tumblr media
"You're serious?" you blink at Crowley, half-expecting Grim to wake you up from this fever dream. "I can move into any dorm?"
Crowley clasps his hands together with a benevolent smile that doesn't quite match his usual dramatic flair. "Indeed, my dear prefect! It's the least I can do to ensure your safety and comfort!"
Grim looks up from where he’s gnawing on a suspiciously burnt sofa leg. "Wait, what about me?!"
"You’ll go where the prefect goes, naturally," Crowley waves off Grim’s protests. "Now, chop-chop! Let me know your decision by the end of the day."
And just like that, he floats out of Ramshackle, leaving you standing in the middle of the chaos.
Heartslabyul
The second you hit send in the group chat, you regret everything. Ace and Deuce don’t even wait for you to explain. Within minutes, they’re barging into Ramshackle like the Kool-Aid Man.
“Heartslabyul!” Ace yells, grabbing one of your arms.
“Obviously Heartslabyul!” Deuce hollers, seizing the other.
“I haven’t even decided—”
“Blasphemy!” Ace gasps, as if you’d just insulted his mother. “We’re your best friends, how could you even think about choosing another dorm?”
Deuce nods fervently, dragging you toward the door. “Heartslabyul’s clean! Organized! You’d thrive there!”
"And the desserts!" Ace adds. "Think of the desserts!"
Before you know it, you're shoved into Heartslabyul’s rose garden, where Riddle is waiting with the most extravagant tea party setup you’ve ever seen. There’s a towering cake, delicate pastries, and enough tea to drown Grim.
“I thought you might need proper refreshments while considering your options,” Riddle says, adjusting his posture like he isn’t secretly trying to sway you. “Of course, I have no preference where you go. I’m merely concerned for your well-being.”
Trey hands you a plate with the biggest, most immaculate slice of cake you’ve ever seen. “You’d fit right in here, you know,” he says kindly. “We’re all about structure and care… and good desserts.”
"Plus," Cater slides in with a grin, “imagine all the cool pics we could take together! #DormGoals, am I right? You and me chilling in Heartslabyul, like, all the time?”
Riddle clears his throat loudly. “This isn’t about favoritism, mind you. But if you were to choose Heartslabyul, you’d be part of a dorm that values discipline and respect for the rules.”
Ace nudges you with a smirk. “Ignore him. Just think of all the times I’ll sneak you extra tarts.”
You glance around at the hopeful stares. Grim’s already halfway into a tart he snatched off the table. “I feel like I’m being ambushed.”
“Oh, you are,” Ace says shamelessly.
Savanaclaw
You stumble out of the Heartslabyul tea party, feeling like you’ve consumed enough sugar to fuel a small country. Before you can even catch your breath, a shadow looms over you, and suddenly, you're hoisted into the air like a sack of potatoes.
“What the—JACK?!” you squawk, flailing as he throws you over his shoulder like you weigh nothing.
“You’re coming with me,” Jack grunts, completely unfazed by your protests. “You need to see why Savanaclaw is the best dorm for you.”
“I can walk, you know!” you huff, punching his back.
He ignores you. “Not fast enough.”
By the time he sets you down, you’re in the middle of Savanaclaw’s common area, where Ruggie is lounging on one of the couches, counting a suspiciously thick wad of cash. Leona’s sprawled out nearby, pretending to nap, though his ears twitch at the sound of your arrival.
Ruggie grins as soon as he spots you. “Ah, perfect timing! I was just telling Leona how we could totally use someone like you here. Right, boss?”
Leona cracks one eye open and yawns, his tone dripping with disinterest. “Tch. Don’t care. They can do whatever they want.”
“That’s funny,” Ruggie says, nudging Leona hard enough to make him growl, “’cause I distinctly remember you sayingand I quote—‘If they don’t pick Savanaclaw, everyone else can rot.’”
Leona sits up, glaring daggers at Ruggie. “I said no such thing.”
“Sure you didn’t,” Ruggie snickers before turning back to you, his grin as wide as a hyena’s. “Anyway, check this out. Leona generously donated some funds to help you... you know, see the light.”
He shoves the wad of cash into your hands. You blink at it. “What am I supposed to do with this?”
“Whatever you want! Snacks, clothes, bribes for your annoying friends in Heartslabyul…”
Leona groans and drags a hand down his face. “You’re making us look desperate.”
“We? Speak for yourself, Your Highness.” Ruggie winks at you. “He’s just mad ‘cause he doesn’t know how to be subtle.”
Leona slouches further into his seat, watching you through half-lidded eyes. “Look, Herbivore, if you wanna be around people who won’t coddle you, Savanaclaw’s where it’s at. We don’t do tea parties here—”
“Obviously,” you mutter, thinking about the claw marks on the furniture.
“—but we’ll actually challenge you to grow stronger. You can’t get that in the other dorms.”
Jack nods. “He’s right. And we’ve got the best training facilities on campus.”
Ruggie waves a hand dismissively. “Yeah, yeah, training’s cool and all, but let’s focus on what really matters. Free snacks. Awesome vibes. Me.”
Leona rolls his eyes. “You’re going to scare them off.”
You cross your arms, trying to ignore the way Leona’s ears flick every time you shift your weight. “So… are you guys going to bribe me with anything besides money and vibes?”
Leona smirks. “What, isn’t my dazzling personality enough?”
Ruggie snorts. “Oh, sure. That’s totally why people flock to you.”
You can’t help but laugh, and Leona’s eyes soften just a little, though he quickly turns his head like he doesn’t care.
“I’ll think about it,” you say, handing the wad of cash back to Ruggie, who immediately starts recounting it like you’ve stolen some.
“Better think fast,” Leona mutters, though there’s the faintest curve of a smile on his lips.
Octavinelle
As you trudge back to Ramshackle, your brain still processing Savanaclaw’s “recruitment tactics,” a pair of arms suddenly wrap around you, lifting you clean off the ground.
“Shrimpy!” Floyd crows, spinning you around like you’re a prize he just won at a carnival.
“FLOYD! Put me down!” you shout, flailing uselessly in his grip.
“Nah, I got orders,” he says, grinning ear to ear as he hauls you off toward the Mostro Lounge.
By the time you’re unceremoniously deposited (read: still stuck in Floyd’s arms like a glorified teddy bear), you’re face-to-face with Azul and Jade, both of whom look way too pleased with themselves.
“Ah, perfect timing!” Azul says, standing up from his chair with his signature business smile. “We’ve been eagerly awaiting your arrival. Have a seat!”
“I would if Floyd let me down,” you deadpan, glaring at the tall eel holding you like a sack of seaweed.
“Nah, you’re comfy,” Floyd chirps, tightening his grip as if daring you to try escaping.
Azul clears his throat, pulling out a scroll of parchment that looks suspiciously like a contract. “Ahem. Now, as I was saying—let’s discuss the many benefits of joining Octavinelle. For starters, we pride ourselves on being a dorm of intellect and resourcefulness. Here, you’ll have access to unmatched networking opportunities, a plethora of unique beverages crafted by Jade himself, and—should you agree—my personal mentorship in matters of… negotiation.”
He flashes you a grin that screams, This is totally not suspicious at all.
Jade slides a glass of something shimmering and iridescent across the table toward you. “I would be delighted to name you our official taste tester. Imagine the prestige of being the first to try all my… experimental creations.”
You eye the drink like it might explode. “Define ‘experimental.’”
Jade smiles serenely. “You’ll find out.”
“Don’t be shy, Shrimpy!” Floyd chimes in, shifting you in his arms so you’re now sitting sideways like some sort of royal guest. “You’d have so much fun here. We’ve got good food, good drinks, and me.”
Azul adjusts his glasses, sliding the contract closer to you. “And, of course, we’ve prepared a special position for you. All you have to do is sign right here, and Octavinelle will officially welcome you as our newest member.”
You glance at the contract, then at the three of them—Azul’s scheming smile, Jade’s unsettling calmness, and Floyd’s unnervingly enthusiastic grin.
“I feel like this is a trap,” you say.
“It’s not a trap,” Floyd says immediately, which makes you even more suspicious.
Azul leans forward, steepling his fingers. “I assure you, everything is perfectly legitimate. Now, shall we seal the deal?”
“Or,” you say, leaning back as far as Floyd’s grip will allow, “I could not.”
Jade hums thoughtfully, handing you another drink. “At least try the beverages before you decide.”
Azul smirks. “I’m sure a sip or two will convince you.”
You glance at the drink, then back at Azul. “Is this bribery?”
“It’s persuasion,” he corrects smoothly.
“Same thing.”
Floyd suddenly squeezes you tight, grinning down at you. “C’mon, Shrimpy. Just say yes already! I’ll carry you everywhere. Betcha Heartslabyul and Savanaclaw didn’t offer that.”
You sigh, resting your head in your hands. This was going to be a long night.
Scarabia
You barely make it out of Octavinelle alive (or at least with your dignity and soul intact) when you’re immediately ambushed again.
“Prefect!” Kalim’s voice rings out, and before you can even process the sound, you’re being yanked into a whirlwind of color, music, and… is that confetti?
You blink as Scarabia's lounge comes into view, transformed into what can only be described as a full-blown festival. Tables are piled high with food, lanterns glow in warm hues, and cheerful music fills the air.
“Surprise!” Kalim grins, throwing his arms wide like he just gifted you the world. “Welcome to Scarabia! We threw a party just for you!”
“A… party?” you repeat, still trying to figure out how you got here so fast.
“Yep!” Kalim grabs your hands, his golden eyes shining with pure, unfiltered excitement. “I thought, ‘What’s the best way to convince you to join us?’ And then I thought, ‘A party! Everyone loves parties!’”
Before you can respond, a plate stacked with delicious-looking food appears in front of you, courtesy of none other than Jamil.
“Eat,” he says simply, pushing the plate closer.
“Oh, uh, thanks?” you mumble, picking up a fork.
Jamil nods, then leans in slightly, his voice low and almost conspiratorial. “This is just a taste of what Scarabia has to offer. Stick around, and I’ll make sure you’re well-fed every day. Properly fed.”
You pause mid-bite, noticing the way he emphasizes the word “properly,” like he knows exactly how many instant noodles you’ve been living off of.
Kalim, meanwhile, is still giving you the most devastating puppy-dog eyes you’ve ever seen. “You’ll join, right? We’d have so much fun together! And think of all the parties we could throw! Oh, and I can get you anything you want! Name it, and it’s yours!”
You glance between Kalim’s hopeful grin and Jamil’s subtle but persuasive bribes.
Jamil catches your hesitation and sighs, placing yet another dish in front of you. “Look, I’ll even help you stay on top of your work. You’re clearly the type who needs someone dependable around.”
“Hey!” you protest, only for him to raise an eyebrow as if to say, Am I wrong?
“Please?” Kalim chimes in, practically bouncing in place. “It’ll be so much fun! And I really, really want you to join. Scarabia would be perfect for you!”
You groan internally, stuffing another bite of food into your mouth just to avoid answering. Between Kalim’s overwhelming enthusiasm and Jamil’s quiet determination, you’re starting to think Scarabia might actually succeed in breaking your will.
You’re doomed. Aren’t you?
Pomefiore
You stumble out of Scarabia, clutching your overstuffed stomach and wondering how you’ve made it this far without officially losing your sanity. Taking the long way around campus to avoid any more ambushes seems like the best idea—you’ve had enough dorm propaganda for one day.
Or so you thought.
You’re halfway through the forest, breathing a sigh of relief at the quiet, when—
“Bonjour, mon cher trésor!”
You shriek as Rook appears out of thin air. Where did he even come from? Why is there sparkly lighting behind him? Is this even allowed?
“Rook! What—what are you doing here?!”
“Ah, I see you were clever enough to evade the others,” he says, ignoring your question entirely. “But you cannot escape me, the hunter of beauty! Pomefiore awaits, mon ami!”
Before you can protest, he’s scooped you up bridal style and is sprinting through the forest with unnatural speed, his laughter echoing ominously.
“This isn’t fair! You’re cheating!” you yell, flailing helplessly.
“All’s fair in love, war, and dorm recruitment, non?”
You soon find yourself unceremoniously plopped down in the middle of Pomefiore’s lounge. Vil is waiting with his arms crossed and an unreadable expression, though the way his foot taps against the floor suggests he’s less than pleased.
“Honestly,” Vil sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Was the theatrics really necessary, Rook?”
“Always,” Rook replies with a wink.
Epel is off to the side, clearly trying not to laugh at your predicament while casually carving an apple.
“Well,” Vil says, straightening his posture and fixing you with a regal gaze. “I’ve heard about this… situation of yours. Joining Pomefiore would be the obvious choice. After all, we are the epitome of elegance and refinement. It would be a privilege for you to stay here, and I might even be able to do something about your… appearance.”
You blink. "What's wrong with my appearance?”
Vil waves a hand dismissively. “Nothing I can’t fix. Consider it a favor.”
Epel, meanwhile, sidles up next to you, whispering conspiratorially “Don’t listen to him. He’s just tryna butter you up. But, uh… you should totally join Pomefiore anyway. Look, I brought you some fresh juice from Harveston. And this apple.”
You glance at the carved apple he’s offering. It’s shaped like a little heart.
“Epel,” Vil scolds, glaring at him. “Stop bribing them. That’s hardly dignified.”
“Well, it’s working, isn’t it?” Epel shoots back, crossing his arms. “I just think we need someone who’ll actually get how hard it is to survive your routines. And they seem cool. So there.”
You feel your brain short-circuiting as Vil and Epel start bickering in front of you. Rook stands off to the side, watching with sparkling eyes like he’s witnessing a masterpiece.
Somehow, you feel like this is still less stressful than Scarabia. But only barely.
Ignihyde
You somehow manage to escape Pomefiore in one piece, though your mind feels like it’s been through a blender. You’re determined to finally make it back to Ramshackle without incident when—
“Prefect!”
You freeze mid-step as Ortho zooms into view, his boosters glowing bright blue. Before you can even blink, he grabs your arm with surprising strength.
“Ignihyde is next!” he announces cheerfully, starting to lift you off the ground.
“Wait, wait!” you shout, flailing. “I can walk! Please, I’ve been carried around like a stolen handbag all day!”
Ortho tilts his head, his LED eyes flickering. “Oh… okay! As long as you promise to come willingly!”
You nod frantically. “I promise! Just no more flying, please.”
Satisfied, Ortho takes your hand and leads you to Ignihyde. The journey is mercifully uneventful, though you can feel your soul leaving your body as you realize what’s waiting for you inside.
Sure enough, Idia is hunched over in the corner of the lounge, a laptop balanced precariously on a stack of game boxes. The moment you enter, the screen lights up with a title slide: “Top 10 Reasons Why You Should Join Ignihyde” in bold, glowing text.
“Oh, you’re here,” Idia mutters, adjusting his hoodie nervously. His hair flickers faintly pink at the tips. “Uh, okay, so—yeah, uh—welcome? Or whatever. Let’s, um, get this over with.”
He clicks to the first slide, which is an overwhelming wall of text filled with bullet points, charts, and what looks like a meme of a cat wearing glasses.
“Reason number one,” Idia starts, stumbling over his words. “Um, we’re quiet? Like, no loud parties or annoying socializing. Uh… unless you count Ortho, but, uh, he’s not that bad. And you can play games as much as you want. Or watch anime. Or—uh—just chill. Yeah.”
Ortho, standing nearby, nods enthusiastically. “Ignihyde is perfect for you! And Brother worked really hard on this presentation!”
You glance at Idia, who’s clearly fighting for his life to make eye contact with you. He clicks to the next slide, which is just a stock photo of a cozy room.
“Reason number two,” he continues. “We, uh, have good Wi-Fi? Like, really good. You could stream in 4K if you wanted to. Not that you’d want to. Or maybe you would? Uh… I dunno. Anyway.”
His hair flickers a deeper pink, and he clicks to the next slide. It’s a crudely edited photo of you and him standing next to each other in front of a glowing Ignihyde logo. You’re not sure whether to be impressed or deeply concerned.
He glances at you, his expression oddly hopeful. “So, uh… what do you think?”
You can feel Ortho practically vibrating next to you, his bright smile threatening to blind you. Meanwhile, Idia is trying (and failing) to look indifferent, but the way his fingers tap anxiously on the laptop betrays him.
“I’ll… think about it,” you say carefully, not having the heart to crush Idia’s dreams outright.
His hair sparks bright pink for a split second before he slams the laptop shut, muttering something about “overheating processors” and “input overload.”
Ortho cheers. “Yay! I knew you’d see how great we are!”
You manage a weak smile, already planning your escape route.
Diasomnia
You’re so close—so, so close—to finally making it back to Ramshackle when the universe decides to remind you that peace is but a fleeting dream.
“Ah, there you are!”
You barely have time to scream before Lilia literally materializes out of thin air, grabbing you by the arm and dragging you into a swirling vortex of green light.
“Wait, NO—”
Too late. You’re already standing in the middle of Diasomnia’s lounge, disoriented and ready to file a restraining order against anyone with teleportation magic.
Malleus looks up from where he’s seated, eyebrows raising slightly. “Child of man? What brings you here?”
“Great news, Malleus!” Lilia chirps, dropping you onto the couch like a sack of potatoes. “They’re choosing a dorm to transfer to, and we couldn’t possibly let them pick anywhere but Diasomnia!”
Malleus freezes, his eyes wide with surprise, before his expression shifts into one of regal determination. He rises from his seat, his imposing height making you feel like a pebble in the presence of a mountain.
“Is this true?” he asks, his voice deep and serious. “You’re choosing a new dorm?”
“Uh, yeah, but—”
“Then it must be Diasomnia.” His tone leaves no room for argument. “Here, you will be protected. No harm shall come to you under my watch. And…” He pauses, his eyes gleaming with excitement. “I have a gargoyle in my room. A fine specimen. You would enjoy its company.”
You blink. “...A gargoyle?”
“Yes,” Malleus says with absolute sincerity, as though that’s the most convincing argument in the world.
Before you can process that, Sebek practically throws himself to the floor in front of you, bowing with the intensity of a knight swearing fealty.
“Human!” he bellows. “You must choose Diasomnia! To live anywhere else would be an insult to the Young Master’s unparalleled grace and power! Surely, you can see this is the only logical choice!”
“Sebek,” Silver mumbles from his spot on the couch, not even bothering to open his eyes. “Maybe let them decide for themselves.”
“But, Silver!” Sebek protests, his voice trembling with the sheer force of his conviction. “The honor! The prestige!”
Meanwhile, Lilia floats into view, holding a plate of… something. “Don’t worry about dinner, dear. I’ve prepared a feast for you! Go on, take a bite.”
You stare at the plate. It looks like it might be alive. “I’m… good, thanks.”
“Nonsense! You need to keep your strength up!” Lilia insists, thrusting the plate closer to your face.
Silver sighs, finally sitting up. “You should just do what feels right,” he says, offering you a calm, reassuring smile. “Don’t let them pressure you.”
You glance between Malleus’s earnest expression, Sebek’s passionate pleas, and Lilia’s… questionable cooking. Your stomach growls, but you’re not sure if it’s hunger or the beginnings of a panic attack.
One thing’s for sure: if you survive this day, you’re going to need therapy.
Tumblr media
The sun is setting by the time you finally drag your aching body back to Ramshackle. The dorm looms ahead, creaky and crumbling, but for once, it feels like a safe haven compared to the dorm-hopping marathon you just survived.
As you step inside, you’re greeted by the unmistakable voice of your ever-demanding feline companion. “There you are! What took ya so long? I’ve been waitin’ forever!”
Grim is sprawled on the couch, a can of tuna already half-empty beside him. He squints at you suspiciously. “So? Which dorm are we movin’ to?”
You groan, flopping face-first onto the nearest piece of semi-clean furniture. “I haven’t decided yet.”
“What?!” Grim squawks, leaping onto the armrest beside you. “What do ya mean you haven’t decided? This is important! We gotta pick one where I can get the most tuna, y’know?”
You tilt your head just enough to glare at him. “Oh, sure. Let me just base my entire living situation on your snack preferences.”
Grim puffs up, indignant. “Hey! I’ve been puttin’ up with this dump longer than anyone! I deserve to have a say!”
You sigh, the weight of the day finally catching up to you. Somehow, Grim being his usual self is oddly comforting after everything. No bribes, no PowerPoints, no gargoyle sales pitches—just Grim being Grim.
“Can we talk about this tomorrow?” you mumble, your voice muffled by the cushion. “I’m too tired to think.”
Grim eyes you for a moment before huffing. “Fine. But don’t take too long, got it? I’m not stickin’ around this dump forever!”
With that, he hops off to raid the kitchen, leaving you alone to sink further into the furniture. You stare at the ceiling, your brain too fried to process anything else.
Tomorrow. You’ll deal with it tomorrow. For now, all you want is to sleep in your creaky, drafty old dorm. At least here, no one’s trying to kidnap you.

Male Yandere x Fem Reader He just wants what's best for you. If he has to tell a few white lies now and again, then so be it.
Tumblr media
When you first saw him, he had his tongue down your boyfriend's throat.
It sure as hell would not have been the start of a friendship, except...
He was the one who ran after you when you stormed out of the club, mascara and eyeshadow running in silvery streaks down your cheeks.
He was the one who hugged you and apologised and said your boyfriend was a piece of shit for doing that to you.
He was the one who got you home safe, cleaned off your makeup and left aspirin on your bedside table.
In your half haze of alcohol and tears, you clung to him and nuzzled into his neck and told him you were so grateful, that he was such a nice guy.
It wouldn't have been the start to a friendship and maybe it shouldn't have been. But you called him the next morning.
You apologised for being such a mess, stuttering just a little at the deep gruffness of his morning voice. He laughed and told you not to worry about, that you should've seen what a fool he made of himself when his boyfriend cheated.
You weren't sure how, but a phone call turned into lunch together. Both of you just a little tipsy from bottomless mimosas, his arm tossed across the back of your chair as he sketched out the horror of his last situationship.
"So you're gay?"
You should have noticed it then - the way he narrowed his eyes just a little, the way he let his fingers graze your bare shoulder, the way he seemed to take just a second too long to answer.
"Yeah. I'm into guys."
That was the first lie he told you. Not entirely untrue. He was into guys.
He was just into girls too. And he was especially into you.
He could have been honest with you, he could have told the truth. But you were still reeling from your boyfriend's betrayal, too guarded and hurt to let another man into you life.
And he so desperately wanted to be a part of your life.
The next time you asked him to hang out, you were so at ease. You hugged him when you saw him, your tits squished against his chest. You held his hand and dragged him along behind you. You fell asleep with your head on his shoulder.
He smoothed your hair away from your face and any idea of telling the truth crumbled.
He told himself he just wanted to be your friend. Lord knows you needed one after such a nasty break up. But anyone who looked at you together could tell friendship was the last thing on his mind.
He took you to watch his favourite band performing live and hoisted you up on his shoulder for the encore, his hands inching further and further up your thighs.
He took you to his favourite club and bought you drink after drink until you danced with him, your arms thrown back around his neck and your ass grinding into his crotch. It was only the pulsing neon lights that kept you from seeing his hard on.
He invited you over for a movie night and pretended to lose the AC remote, just so he could share a blanket with you and keep his arm around your waist.
And the longer it went on, the worse it got. You were cute and clever and funny. You could yap together for hours about fashion and music and video games. You brought him little presents every time you came over - small packets of his favourite sweets, a new flavour of ice cream, his go-to Starbucks order.
Could you blame him for wanting you?
He started calling you his wifey, even in front of his friends. Would crack jokes about getting married if either of you couldn't find a guy by next year. And you went along with it. Ran your hands up his chest and fluttered your eyelashes at him and called him your strong, handsome fiancé - oblivious to the way it made his heart race.
When he walked in on you changing, he kept his face deadpan and told you red was definitely not your colour, even as you scrambled to cover up and spluttered at him to get out.
"Why? You aren't exactly my type babe."
Another lie. Not even remotely true this time.
And soon you got used to him walking in on you. Started asking him for fashion advice while you were in just your underwear and heels. Started asking him to tie your bikini tops and unzip your dresses. You didn't notice him always slipping away afterwards, one hand shoved deep in his pocket. You didn't notice the way his hair was always slightly messed up when he got back, his cheeks just a little flushed.
And if there were ever any warning bells - any subconscious instincts that told you he touched you too much, hugged you for too long - they were drowned out by his parade of boyfriends and flings. Why would he be into you when he could be dating a ripped surfer or hooking up with his personal trainer?
You never realised you were the reason his relationships were always so short lived. He couldn't fall for any of them the way he fell for you. They were all just quick fucks to get the frustration out of his system.
He could have continued just like that - fucking a new guy every weekend and getting brunch with you right after.
But then you went and met someone.
He froze when you told him, his smile a rictus, hand clenched so tight around his wine glass that he was lucky it didn't shatter.
He gritted his teeth and managed to choke out a congratulations. You beamed at him, flushed pretty with young love. You squeezed his hand and said it was only a matter of time before he found his love too.
He had to excuse himself after that. Had to splash cold water on his face and fight down the urge to scream. God, why was he so fucking stupid? He should have made a move on you ages ago, back when you first met. If you rejected him then, at least it wouldn't hurt as bad as it did now.
He somehow managed to make his way back to the table and smile at you like you hadn't just clawed his insides to shreds.
"So when can I meet the lucky guy?"
When you got up to wash your hands he slipped your phone out of your bag. He scrolled through your gallery, over analysing every pic of your new boyfriend. Cute, but you could do so much better. And he wasn't even that much taller than you. God, are you really gonna date this loser?
You kissed him on his cheek when he left and he spent the entire walk home rubbing the spot and thinking up ways to get rid of this new... disruption.
Later that afternoon you called him up and asked if he'd like to come to a bar with you and meet your new man. And just like that, the wild ideas in his head clicked into place.
"Sure wifey, I'd love to come."
He showed up late and spilled a drink down your dress before you even finished saying hello. And while you rushed off to try and get red wine out of satin, he scanned the bar for your new boyfriend.
And when he finally found the bastard, he turned on all his pretty boy charm. Bought him a drink and slung an arm across the back of his chair and pretended not to hear when he said he had a girlfriend. Managed to get the guy flushed and stuttering even after he claimed to not be into men.
When he pulled your boyfriend into a kiss, the fucker had the nerve to actually kiss him back.
He was careful with his timing - going in for a second kiss as soon as he saw the flash of your dress through the crowd.
He pulled away just as you reached the table and looked up at you with oblivious innocence.
"What's wrong baby? Why do you look so shocked?"
Your boyfriend shoved him off and stood up to grab you, to claim he didn't kiss someone else, the guy just came onto him swear to God. But the damage was already done.
Who would you believe was at fault? Your best friend who didn't even know what your new boyfriend looked like? Or the asshole kissing someone else while you were gone?
You threw your drink in your boyfriend's face and called him a filthy liar. When you grabbed your best friend's arm and dragged him away, he struggled to hide his smile.
He took you back to his apartment and popped open a bottle. Poured you a drink and kissed your forehead and let his hand settle on your lower back.
"Men ain't shit baby. We're all just manipulative assholes deep down."
He let you drown your sorrows in the bottle and then pulled you onto his lap when you were too drunk to object.
"I'm the only man you need in your life, yeah?"
You sniffled, too drunk and hurt and dizzy to notice his hands moving to your bare thighs.
"Yeah."
"C'mon, say it. Say I'm the only man you need."
"You're the only man I need."
His fingers slipped under the hem of your dress and he pressed his lips against your skin, teeth oh so close to your jugular.
"And I'll take care of you. So just sit still and I'll make it all better."

ACE, DEUCE, LEONA, KALIM AND LILIA X READER
Where you have the habit of patting them on the head when they do something right
Tumblr media
You made the mistake of patting Ace's head the first time after he barely passed a basketball practice match without cheating.
A small miracle.
You had smiled and ruffled his messy red hair saying,
"Good job, Ace. I’m proud of you."
Ace froze for a second. Blink. Blink.
Then— He grinned.
You could practically see the little sparkle light up behind his eyes.
"Ohhh?~ What's this? Little ol' me getting a reward, huh?"
He leaned down dramatically, tilting his head toward you like a cat demanding attention.
"Wanna pet me more? Maybe scratch behind my ears next time, Yuu?"
From that moment on, Ace treated your habit like his favorite game.
Whenever he did anything remotely successful—winning a card game, finishing a group project, even just carrying your bag for you—he’d shoot you the most obnoxious overly innocent look and announce,
"So, where’s my headpat?"
Sometimes he’d physically nudge your hand toward his head, acting whiny.
Other times, he'd dramatically flop into your lap pouting,
"C'mon, I worked so hard for this."
It was a bit of a monster you created, honestly.
But deep down you knew Ace loved it.
It wasn’t just the attention (though he definitely loved that too). It was you, loving him out loud.
Sometimes, after a rough day (when he didn’t feel like being annoying or bragging), Ace would just plop down beside you, resting his head against your shoulder wordlessly.
And you would smile and card your fingers through his hair, slow and gentle, murmuring how proud you were of him.
Ace would close his eyes, a soft smile tugging at his lips—and let himself be held by you.
Tumblr media
Deuce wasn’t used to being praised. Not like this.
When you first patted his head, he’d passed a potion test he was convinced he’d failed.
The moment Professor Crewel handed him a passing mark, Deuce lit up like a sunrise. And when he turned around to share the joy with you—you just smiled and ruffled his hair.
“There you go! I knew you could do it.”
He blinked. Face froze. And then:
“What are you doing?!”
He turned bright red. Hands flailing. “I’m not a little kid!! You can’t just—!”
But despite the protests, he didn’t stop you. His cheeks glowed. His ears went pink.
And you could feel him slowly leaning into your hand, like he really needed someone to say “you did good” and mean it.
From then on, you made it a habit. Big things. Small things.
If Deuce gave someone without punching them?
Pat.
If he helped someone carry books or aced a quiz?
Pat.
At first, he would puff up every time: “Yuu! Come on, don’t do that in front of the others!!”
He got this tiny proud smile every time, like he couldn’t help but melt a little.
You started noticing he worked harder when you were watching.
“I’ve got to do it right,” he’d mutter under his breath. “Yuu’s gonna see this. I gotta make ‘em proud.”
Eventually, Deuce started earning your headpats on purpose.
He’d glance over with hopeful eyes every time he did something right, and when you stepped close and reached up, he’d bow his head, pretending not to smile—but you could feel it radiating off him.
It wasn’t about being babied. It was about you believing in him. And every headpat said: You’re doing great. I’m proud of you.
For someone trying so hard to walk the right path—that meant everything.
Tumblr media
Leona hated it. ...At least, that’s what he said.
The first time you patted his head—after he actually bothered to show up to a Housewarden meeting on time—he let out a growl.
"The hell do you think you’re doing, herbivore?"
But you just smirked and kept scratching behind his ear in that one spot, and watched as the mighty lion prince immediately betrayed himself by leaning into it, just a tiny involuntary fraction.
"You did good today," you murmured.
And you saw it—the second when the tension drained from his shoulders, when he let himself lean just a little closer.
After that, it became a game.
Leona pretended to be indifferent whenever you pet him, acting lazy and annoyed, grumbling things like,
"You're such a pain."
But whenever he actually accomplished something (winning a Spelldrive match, helping a Savannaclaw student study even though he claimed he didn’t care)—he would position himself within reach.
Sprawled on the lounge couch?
Conveniently lying right where your hand would naturally fall on his head.
Sitting with you under the shade of a tree?
Somehow ended up leaning back so close you couldn't not pet him.
He never asked.
But every time you started to run your fingers through his hair and scratch gently behind his ear, that gruff lion would let out the softest rumbly purring sound against his will.
(And if you kissed his temple while you did it, his ears would flatten... but he wouldn’t move away.)
Tumblr media
The first time you patted Kalim’s head, it was after he successfully hosted a big Scarabia banquet where no one got food poisoning, nobody got sunstroke, and Jamil didn’t strangle anyone.
High bar.
You reached up, giggling, and fluffed his snowy white hair between your hands.
"You did amazing, Kalim! You’re incredible!"
Kalim immediately lit up like a sunbeam.
"REALLY??" he cried, sparkling. "You think so?! Ahahaha!! You're the best, Yuu!!"
He immediately tackled-hugged you, spinning you around in circles, laughing so loudly and brightly that half of Scarabia heard it.
From that day forward, Kalim decided headpats were mandatory.
Every time he achieved anything—got a good grade, learned a new flying trick, remembered all his appointments for the day—he would come BOUNDING up to you like an excited puppy.
"Yuu! Yuu! Look!! I finished all my homework early!!"
And then he would immediately bow his head down toward you, waiting for his headpat.
If you didn’t do it fast enough, he would grab your hand and put it on his head himself.
Once, in front of the entire Scarabia dorm, he proudly yelled,
"I did all the event planning with Jamil without messing up once!! Yuu, gimme my headpats now!!"
The Scarabia students just sighed fondly. (They were used to it.)
Sometimes Kalim would fall asleep with his head in your lap, your hand stroking through his soft hair.
He would mumble half-dreaming praises:
"Yuu... the best... so nice... love you lots..."
No matter how rich, powerful, or loved he was by the world—there was something in Kalim’s heart that craved that warm reassurance. That he was seen.
That he was cherished just for being him.
And you gave it to him, every time.
Tumblr media
Lilia’s reaction to your headpats was...
Well.
The first time you did it, he simply closed his eyes and smiled like a cat basking in the sunlight.
You had congratulated him for flawlessly performing an impossibly complex spell during Alchemy class (he's like 500 years old how is he not gonna do it)
— and without missing a beat, you'd stood on your tiptoes (he was short, but still a bit taller than you!) and fluffed his hair affectionately.
Lilia chuckled.
"My, my. How spoiled I'm becoming, but if it's coming from you, I suppose I could grow used to such indulgences."
Unlike Leona—who denied wanting headpats and melted when he got them—Lilia leaned into it shamelessly.
He treated it like a game.
Sometimes after pranking Silver he'd come sauntering up to you, grin wicked, and lower his head.
"Don't I deserve a little reward, Yuu?~" he’d tease. "If you're feeling generous, that is."
If you hesitated even a second, Lilia would pout, arms folded, pretending to be deeply wounded.
"Ohhh, how cruel! You encourage me to be mischievous and then deny me my rightful prize!"
He’d even throw in a fake sniffle for good measure.
When you did give in—giggling and running your fingers through his soft hair—Lilia would hum, closing his eyes, his whole person softening.
And sometimes he would rest his head against yours
"You’re too kind to an old fae like me, Yuu." A whisper of something bittersweet

“I’m Pretending I Don’t Love You” Behaviors
Lowkey thinking about doing some one piece x reader prompts with this post but I don't have time so this is all I've got :|
Zoro is definitely staring too long. Chopper would have to treat him for whiplash with how fast he turns his head away from you when he's been caught staring. Red creeping across his cheeks all the way to his ears. He'd make some dumb half-assed comment under his breath. He just can't help it. He stares at you often trying to put all the pieces of you together in his head. You're one of the few things that float in his mind all day: his dream, the crew, booze, and you.
Luffy is "coincidentally" showing up wherever you are. Every few islands, Luffy crash lands into your world bringing a bright smile, a bone-crushing hug, and absolute chaos with him. The "game" doesn't last long, even though it's fun for him to find a way to be wherever you are. He's quick to declare how annoying it is following you around and asks you to just join his crew already so he can be near you all the time.
Sanji is looking away from you when you laugh. You'd think he'd exactly what food you like, he does, of course! But he does that with everyone and you're not "everyone." You're you and sometimes he feels like he shouldn't even be allowed to look at you you're so perfect. When you smile so wide and laugh unabashedly, it's like trying to stare at the sun. He has to look away, his heart hammering in his chest like he's just run a marathon.
Sabo is soooo jealous when anyone flirts with you and he has no idea why. They just...shouldn't?! He tells himself you're too smart and too interesting and too funny for just any ol' bozo to think they can get with you. He's tweaking. Hands twitching to punch whoever is talking to you. Flames threaten to lick at his skin just at the thought of you with anyone. He knows he's jealous, but the reason why escapes him completely. You're just too special.
Law is volunteering to be with you, always. You'd think it'd be patching you up or telling you (coldly) to be careful, but he does that with his crew or anyone in his small circle. He doesn't have to tell you to be careful because he's right next to you and he won't let anything happen. Law goes through loops of logic to justify your being with him on important missions. He needs you, you calm him, give him peace of mind. He knows it's a little unhealthy, but he can't stop himself.
Ace is teasing you constantly. Little stuff that gets a chuckle and an eye roll out of you. He can't have you getting too close, can't imagine you taking him too seriously...even though he kind of wants you to. Getting a little reaction out of you, a blush, a laugh, an eye roll, swatting him away like he's a mosquito, is all he's willing to take from you because he's pretty sure that's all he'll ever get. And he's so smitten he'll take anything you're willing to give him.

The Vest Stays On -S.R
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Spencer Reid x coworker!reader | secret relationship |
Tumblr media
The first time you saw Spencer Reid in the tactical vest, it short-circuited your entire nervous system.
It happened during a joint task force case with SWAT, just outside of Portland. You were half-caffeinated, bloodied from crawling through brambles to get a GPS fix on a suspect’s last drop point, and very much not expecting to be visually assaulted at seven-thirty in the morning. But then he stepped out of the SUV, FBI gear snug around his narrow chest, the black straps cinching in just right, the embroidered letters bright against the navy blue. Hair tousled. Glock holstered.
And you? Useless. Every neuron in your brain screamed: climb him.
You weren’t the only one who noticed. Morgan had laughed when you choked on your water. JJ had side-eyed you when you pretended to stare at the street signs just to avoid looking at Spencer’s chest. “That’s the fifth time you’ve looked,” Emily mutters under her breath beside you, handing over her report.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh please,” she snorts. “You’ve been ogling Reid like he’s the last glass of water in the desert.”
And Hotch—of course Hotch—was the only one oblivious, laser-focused on briefing SWAT while the rest of the team collectively ignored how suddenly, unfairly hot Dr. Spencer Reid looked in tactical gear.
Which brings you to now. Because apparently the BAU’s got a knack for hotel fuck-ups. There’s only one room left tonight, and surprise—it's yours and Spencer's. Two twin beds, one broken thermostat, and five days into a case that’s frayed both of your nerves to ribbons.
And Reid? He’s still wearing the damn vest.
It’s past midnight. You’re in a tank top and boyshorts, pacing in front of the single working AC unit like it’s your job. Spencer’s sitting stiffly on the edge of his bed, hands on his knees, posture impeccable—like he’s trying not to look at you. Like the thought of you in so little isn’t killing him. It’s mutual.
“I can take the floor if you want,” he offers.
You raise a brow. “Why? Scared I’ll kick in my sleep?”
“No,” he says quickly. “I just—I figured you’d be more comfortable. With space.”
You stop in front of him. Your eyes drift to the vest. It’s still zipped up, snug over his chest, the collar slightly popped against the base of his throat. “You gonna sleep in that thing?” you ask, stepping into his space. “Or is it permanently fused to your body now?”
He swallows. “I was—I didn’t want to—I didn’t think—”
“I don’t think I ever told you,” you interrupt, running your hand through his hair, “how unfairly hot this vest is.”
“I-I got that impression.”
You grin. “You know what I want?”
His breath hitches. “What?”
You lean in close, your mouth brushing his jaw as your fingers trail over the vest’s chest straps. “I want you to fuck me in it.”
With a firm hand, you shove him backward onto the mattress. He goes willingly, vest thudding softly against the cheap polyester sheets. You climb over him, knees straddling his hips, your fingers curling around the edge of the vest to anchor yourself. You roll your hips down, slow and deliberate, grinding against him. He groans.
“Tell me something, Doctor,” you murmur, tugging at one of the black buckles. “Statistically speaking, how many times can someone come in a single night?”
He chokes on a laugh—half arousal, half disbelief. “I—uh—five to six, depending on... variables.”
You smirk. “Let’s test that hypothesis, shall we?” He grips your hips tight. You grind against the hard line of him through his slacks and he groans—a soft, helpless sound that goes straight to your core.
Spencer kisses you again—slower this time, purposeful—then pulls your arms above your head. He grabs his belt from where it hangs on the bedpost and uses it to bind your wrists, leather tight but not painful.
“You move,” he murmurs, “and you don’t come.”
Your thighs squeeze together, aching. “What if I beg?”
“You can beg all you want.” He leans down, lips brushing your collarbone. “I like the sound of it.”
He trails kisses down your chest, nips at the waistband of your shorts. His hands skim your thighs, teasing, torturously slow. He drops his gaze to your boyshorts, now pushed aside, and hums softly under his breath like he’s filing away the image for later. You arch involuntarily when he strokes a thumb across your clit, featherlight. Just enough to make you crave more.
“You’re already so wet,” he murmurs. “Is it the vest?”
You whimper. “Spencer…”
He tilts his head, mock-serious. “Is that a yes?”
“Yes. God. Yes.”
“Noted.” He leans down and kisses the inside of your thigh, slow and indulgent. You twitch in his hold, desperate for friction, but he tuts. “I said don’t move.”
You nearly whine. “You’re torturing me.”
“I’m teasing you,” he corrects, licking another maddening stripe up your center. “Big difference. Trust me—I’ve done the research.”
You buck your hips before you can stop yourself. Spencer freezes. You feel his breath against your skin, just before he pulls away entirely. “No,” you plead, straining against the belt.
He raises a brow, expression cool behind the heat in his eyes. “I warned you.”
“Spencer, please—”
He slides back up your body until he’s straddling your hips and fuck, he’s so hard. The fabric catches on the outline of his cock as he pushes them down just enough to free himself. He doesn’t bother undressing further. The vest stays on, snug against his frame, and you can see his chest rising with each breath.
He fists himself once, twice—lining himself up with you—and then pauses, cock pressed at your entrance. Sliding it up and through your wet slick before slowly pushing in. You moan—loud, wrecked, your head tipping back against the pillow. He’s big and slow about it, pushing in deep and staying there, letting you feel every inch of him.
You whine under him, tugging instinctively at the belt binding your wrists. “Spence baby please—”
He groans deep in his chest and leans down, the hard ridge of his vest pressing tight against your nipples, the friction causing you to whimper.
“Yeah?” He thrusts harder. “You like the vest?”
You nod wildly. “God, yes.”
“I’ll wear it every day if you want.” You laugh—breathy, desperate—then cry out as he hits just the right spot.
The headboard slams into the wall. You both freeze. From the hallway, a door slams. Spencer presses his forehead to yours, panting. “We’re gonna get caught,” you whisper. He thrusts again. Hard. “Not if you stay quiet.”
You bite your lip. He watches, transfixed. “Be good for me,” he whispers. “Stay quiet. Let me fuck you like this.”
Your eyes roll back. You’re going to come, and he knows it—knows by the way your hips stutter, how your fingers curl into the Velcro on his chest.
“God, you feel good,” he groans against your jaw. Spencer doesn't stop—grinds you through it, cock buried deep, watching you like you're unraveling every scientific principle he’s ever believed in.
“Fuck,” he pants, low and harsh. “You’re so—God—”
You feel him start to lose rhythm, hips jerking erratically. “Inside,” you manage to gasp. “Come in me. Please.”
He groans your name, deep and broken, and spills into you, hips stuttering through the aftershocks as his head drops to your shoulder. You feel it—hot and thick and endless.
When he finally lifts his head, you’re still trying to catch your breath. He brushes damp hair from your forehead and presses a kiss there, soft and startlingly tender.
“You okay?” he asks, voice hoarse.
You tug weakly at your wrists. “Untie me before I find a way to punish you.”
Spencer grins—actually grins—as he reaches for the belt. “Promise?”
You narrow your eyes. “That’s a dangerous game, Doctor.”
He drops the belt to the floor and pulls you into his chest, arms winding around you, vest rough and warm against your cheek. You settle there, content and fucked-out, and sigh.
“You know,” he says, absently running a thumb over your thigh, “in the Victorian era, women were diagnosed with ‘hysteria’ when they experienced… symptoms like yours.”
You lift your head. “Symptoms like what? Being feral for their boyfriend in tactical gear?”
He nods earnestly. “Exactly. Increased heart rate, flushing, rapid breathing, erratic behavior. The prescription was often—well, manual stimulation. Administered by physicians. It’s where the invention of the vibrator comes from.”
You gape at him. “Spencer.”
He shrugs, still tracing nonsense patterns on your thigh. “Just a historical fun fact.”
“You are the weirdest, hottest person I’ve ever met.”
“That’s not mutually exclusive, you know,” he murmurs, bending down to kiss the corner of your mouth. “Intelligence and arousal activate adjacent neural circuits in the limbic system. That’s why people find brains sexy. It’s science.”
“You’re science,” you mumble, tilting your head. “So. Statistically, how long is the average refractory period for men your age?”
He flushes, then smiles like he’s being challenged. “Well, the median is about fifteen minutes. But there’s a huge variation depending on stimulation, emotional connection, hormone levels—”
“So we could test the upper limits of that, is what I’m hearing.”
He pauses, eyes darkening. “Do you want to?”
You lean forward and kiss the corner of his mouth, your voice honey-sweet and dangerous. “Only if you keep the vest on.”
He practically groans. “God, you’re gonna kill me.”
And it’s only round two.

Tumblr media
Aaron doesn’t even look at you anymore.
Okay, that’s not true — he does. When he has to. When there’s a case file in his hands and you’re just another member of the team he needs to brief — another agent he’s in charge of. When there’s a question about geographical profiling or victimology and you’re the one who can answer it. When he’s assigning roles and has to say your name.
But everything outside of that? Nothing. Cold silence. Controlled distance.
And it killed you.
You wouldn’t even know you kissed him. More than once. Wouldn’t know how his hands felt in your hair, or how he’d said your name like it physically hurt him. Wouldn’t know that there was a moment — no, a string of moments — where he looked at you like you were the only thing grounding him to earth.
Because now? Now he’s pretending none of it ever happened.
And the worst part?
You know he still wants you.
Not in the arrogant way. Not in the I’m-so-irresistible kind of way. No — you know it because you see it. In the way his eyes flicker to you when he thinks you’re not paying attention. In the way his jaw ticks when Morgan jokes too casually with you. In the way he goes quiet when your laugh cuts across the room — his lips pressing into a thin line while his body tenses, almost like he’s trying to stop himself from laughing along.
He wants you. And he’s made that clear before.
But he’s also your boss. Older. Emotionally constipated. A man who shuts people out just before they get too close.
So of course, he made the decision for both of you. Of course, he pulled away, said it wasn’t appropriate, said you needed to keep it professional. Of course, he slammed that wall up between you and iced you out like he didn’t miss you the moment he left.
And now? Now you’re in Florida. The local PD is stretched thin, there’s a suspected spree killer hitting tourist-heavy areas along the I-4 corridor, and you’re operating out of some small, humid precinct where the AC rattles and no one knows how to use a case board.
Hotch pairs you with Officer Pretty Smile — an actual cop, around your age, golden tan, charming, full of casual grins and easy compliments. You don’t even hear most of what Hotch says when he assigns you; you’re too busy fuming at the fact that he’s done it again.
Just like the last two cases, he pairs you with some random officer, keeps you away from the scene, away from the precinct, away from anywhere he might be — in a way, he’s not letting you do your job.
Distanced from the rest of the team, you’re not much help.
How is that professional?
You know the game he’s playing. Avoidance. Distance. Control.
You’re sick of it.
But Officer Pretty Smile — his name’s Ryan — doesn’t seem to mind the stormcloud hanging over your head. He makes it easy to forget, just a little. He’s perceptive, actually listens when you talk, knows when to make you laugh and when to stay quiet. It’s a relief.
He flirts — lightly, respectfully — and you flirt back. Why shouldn’t you?
Aaron’s the one who put this wall up. He’s the one not speaking to you.
You don’t owe him your loyalty if he won’t even look at you outside of a damn case briefing.
The case wraps up after a few days of gruelling profiling, false leads and one late-night stakeout that finally caught your UnSub at a rest stop. You’re debriefing the locals, coordinating transport and starting to pack things up when Ryan walks you out to the parking lot.
He offers you his number, and you take it, pocketing it with a smile that widens when he leans in to press a soft kiss to your cheek. It’s innocent, really. Careful and sweet, but when he pulls back, he doesn’t go far. His face stays close, breath brushing against your skin as his eyes lock onto yours.
Then his gaze drops — not just to your lips, but the space between you — like he’s weighing the distance and what to do about it. It takes a breath or two before he meets your eyes again.
He leans in, slower this time, and his lips just barely graze yours. A featherlight touch that barely classifies as a kiss. It’s more of a hesitation. A silent question — do you want this too?
Yes, you do.
You answer by lifting a hand and placing it gently on his jaw, your touch light but certain.
He exhales softly, and his hands move to your waist, holding you like he’s been wanting to all day.
Your lips are so close, a breath away, and just as you’re about to close the gap—
“Agent!”
Aaron’s voice cuts through the humid Florida air like a gunshot, sharp enough to turn heads. It’s not just a call — it’s a warning. A demand. His tone carries weight, and everyone nearby instinctively pauses, glancing over to where he stands near the SUV, his jaw tight, posture coiled like he’s seconds away from snapping.
You freeze.
Where the fuck did he spawn from?
Ryan pulls back, but not completely. His hands stay on your waist, holding you close, as his eyes look over your shoulder.
You, however, don’t turn around — stubbornly refusing to give Hotch the satisfaction of ruining this moment.
He can wait.
He can watch.
You keep your gaze locked on Ryan. On his lips that are a bit further away than before, parted in confusion as he stares at your boss.
Your fingers shift slightly against his jaw — a gentle nudge meant to draw his attention back to you. And it works. His eyes flicker away from whatever intensity Hotch is radiating behind you and settle back on yours.
You lean in, slow and deliberate, and the moment you do, he seems to forget everything else as he leans in too.
And, just like before, just as your lips graze—
“Agent!”
Somehow, his voice is harsher than before — each syllable laced with barely contained fury.
Your hands fall from Ryan’s face and drop to your sides as you sigh, letting your head dip forward slightly.
“What’s his problem?” Ryan murmurs, his frustration mirroring yours as he shoots Aaron a brief, irritated glance before turning his attention back to you.
You lift your head, just enough to meet his eyes again, and mutter, “I don’t know. He’s just—” You wave a hand vaguely behind you. “A hardass.” You pause. “Or an ass. A normal ass. Whichever floats your boat.”
Ryan snorts, nodding as he looks back at Aaron. “Yeah. That tracks.”
You smile, wide and genuine. “Well then,” you say, looking up at him, “duty calls.”
He nods, looking a bit reluctant as he returns your smile and asks, “Will I see you again before you go?”
You hesitate, just for a second, before finally glancing over your shoulder.
Hotch stands by the entrance of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office — arms crossed, back stiff, jaw tight. His eyes are locked on you like he’s trying to dissect every inch of the moment he just interrupted. He looks furious. Controlled, as always, but furious nonetheless.
You look back at Ryan. “Probably not.”
There’s a brief pause — just a breath of silence — before he nods. He doesn’t push, doesn’t ask for anything more. Instead, he steps in and kisses your cheek again, soft and quick, like a quiet goodbye. When he pulls back, he lets his hand brush down your arm before stepping away.
You turn without another word, lowering your head as you approach Aaron. With each step, the feeling of his stare on you burns hotter, sharper.
You stop in front of him, standing there for a moment before you glance up.
His blazer is off, his blue button-up clinging slightly to his skin. His sunglasses perched on his nose and his jaw is tight.
You hate yourself for thinking that he looks hot.
You cross your arms, exhaling sharply before saying, “You called?”
He doesn’t waste a second. “Get the scene logs from the officers inside. I want them scanned and uploaded before we leave for the jet.”
His tone is dry, detached. The words hang in the air like a weight that doesn’t match the way he’s looking at you. His expression is stone-cold, all business, and it only fuels the frustration coursing through you.
You blink, your chest tightening. That’s it? That’s the urgent reason he called you out of a kiss like the sky was falling?
It’s a bullshit task. You both know it.
But he’s your Unit Chief. And right now, he’s pulling rank — not for the case. The case is over. Solved.
He’s doing it for himself, and it makes you want to scream.
You bite back the thousand things you want to say, give a tight nod, and walk past him without a glance.
On the jet, the tension is unbearable.
Aaron is sitting near the front, a stack of case files spread in front of him that he hasn’t touched since takeoff. He just stares at them, unmoving, like he’s willing them to make him forget.
You’re in the back, headphones on, glaring out the window as your forehead rests against the glass of it.
The others feel it — the tightrope tension stretching across the cabin. No one says a word.
After a while, you can’t help but glance his way, your eyes rolling when you see how he’s glaring at the files in front of him.
He’s clearly seething. The image of you, about to kiss someone else, seemed to be carved into his memory.
If he’d been closer, he might’ve punched the guy. Hell, if he wasn’t so goddamn professional, he might’ve dragged you away himself.
But he didn’t. He waited. He watched.
He hates that he waited.
And now he’s stewing in it.
When the jet lands, everyone moves quickly — eager to escape the static pressure in the air. You stand, grabbing your go-bag before heading for the stairs.
And then — low, sharp, right in front of you:
“Stay.”
He’s still seated, leaning forward slightly, elbow propped on the table. His hand is pressed to his face, fingers buried in his hair while his palm digs into his temple like he’s desperately trying to hold his thoughts together.
His eyes are closed — not from sleep, but something heavier — and despite the jet landing, his papers are still out, strewn in front of him. Clearly, he’d given up trying to read them — or pretending to read them.
His face is taut, shadowed — caught in a quiet storm of exhaustion or thought. Maybe both.
He looks really hot.
Swallowing, you will that thought away.
‘Stay.’ He had said, in a tone that made you freeze — one that left no room for argument.
You hesitate, your grip on your bag tightening a bit as you stare before deciding.
No.
With your lips set in a frown, you start walking again.
Just as you’re about to move past him, though, his hand reaches out to wrap around your wrist.
You tense, his touch making you feel warm and a bit breathless despite your anger.
“I said stay.” His voice cuts through the quiet — steady with an edge that sends a jolt through you.
Shit.
You look down at him, jaw set. “Let go.”
He doesn’t move at first — just lifts his eyes to meet yours, something unreadable flickering behind them. Then he exhales before rising to his feet in a fluid motion. His grip on your wrist doesn’t loosen as he stands over you, shoulders squared.
You falter, thrown by the sudden nearness. “Hotch—”
“Aaron.” He interrupts you, his eyes narrowing as he stares down at you. His tone is sharp, stern like hearing his last name offended him.
“Hotch.” You repeat it, just to piss him off.
If distance is what he wants, distance is what he’ll get.
He stares at you for a second before exhaling, a tired look in his eyes as he says, “We need to talk.”
“Oh, now you want to talk?” Your voice rises a bit and you barely manage to hold back a laugh. “You ignore me for weeks, send me off like I’m a problem you can delegate, and now — suddenly — you want to talk?”
His jaw clenches. “You don’t understand—”
“No. You don’t get to—“
Before you can finish what you’re saying, he uses his grip on your wrist to pull you into him. Fuelled by everything he hasn’t said, it’s not a gentle gesture.
You gasp as you stumble forward, crashing into his chest. Your cheek brushes the soft fabric of his shirt and your hand splayed instinctively against him for balance. When your eyes finally meet his, he’s already looking down at you — jaw tense, eyes dark, your faces now inches apart.
“You were going to kiss him.” His voice is quiet, but the words hit harder than if he’d shouted them.
His grip on your wrist tightens slightly, and for a moment, he closes his eyes. The sight of you both leaning in replays in his mind — the tension in his jaw is visible as his lips press into a line. His expression looks as if the image physically hurt him.
When he opens them again, his eyes lock onto yours, searching, checking to see if you understand the severity of it.
Your lips are parted as you stare at him.
You’re not surprised that he brought it up. You knew it was coming, but the way he says it — the weight in his voice — wasn’t something you were expecting.
His words carried an undertone of pain that make you falter. It’s not just about the kiss, you realise. It’s about everything he’s been holding in.
“You were about to kiss him.” He repeats, slower than before, his eyes still boring into yours.
Hearing the word ‘kiss’ a second time, along with the sudden proximity, had your gaze falling to his lips.
You couldn’t help it.
You looked back up quickly to find his eyes still on you.
A flicker of guilt creeps into your chest — something small, unwanted. Maybe it’s the way his voice quietened when he said it. Maybe it’s the look in his eyes, like he wasn’t prepared for how much it hurt him — you almost kissing someone else.
For a split second, you start to feel bad.
But it doesn’t last.
Not when you remember the last few weeks — how he’s iced you out, kept his distance like you didn’t matter, like the moments you shared never happened.
Your jaw tightens and your brows furrow in the way they always do when you’re annoyed.
“Stop.” You say, the word sharper than you intended. Shaking your head, your voice comes out quieter the second time. “Just… stop.”
He doesn’t move, doesn’t speak, just watches you — eyes flicking across your face like he’s trying to read you.
Like he’s trying to profile you.
What happened to never profiling each other? Probably the same thing that happened to being ‘professional’.
“You’re being unfair, Aaron.”
You avert your gaze, unable to hold his anymore. It drops to his chest — the fabric of his shirt stretched a bit beneath your hands that are still resting there. You can feel the steady rise and fall of his breathing, slightly faster than it should be.
He has no right to be upset, you think, and it takes everything in you not to say it out loud first. But when you look back up at him, your anger catches fire again, sharp and unforgiving.
“You’re the one who pushed me away.” You bite out, voice low. “You iced me out. For weeks, Aaron.”
Your words land heavy in the space between you, but you don’t stop.
“You told me we couldn’t—” You falter slightly, pain catching in your throat, “—that we had to keep things professional. And then you avoided me. You acted like I didn’t matter.”
His jaw flexes again, but he says nothing.
“And now what?” you continue. “Now you’re upset because I almost kissed someone else? You don’t get to pull me in two different directions like this. You can’t tell me to stay away, and then look at me like that when someone else gets close.”
His hand is still on your waist, his grip on your wrist still firm. He hasn’t let go, hasn’t backed off, and that makes it worse — the contradiction of it. The ache of being wanted but not claimed.
“It’s confusing. You’re confusing.” My voice goes back to being quiet as I lower my gaze again, missing the way his expression softens a bit.
It softens because he knows you’re right.
He can’t argue with you, not really. Not when you’re looking at him like that. Or rather, not looking at him at all. Your eyes are fixed on his chest now, lips pressed together in that tight little frown that always means you’re trying not to show how hurt you are.
He can’t argue with you because you’re right.
He’s being unfair, and the guilt of that realization hits him instantly, swallowing him whole. The weight of his own selfishness also sinks in, making him feel stupid for not realizing how much he’s hurt you.
When the silence stretches for too long, you look up, and your frown deepens when you see how he’s watching you.
“Stop profiling me.” Your voice shakes a bit as you try to yank yourself free of his grip. But Aaron doesn’t let go. His hands stay firm on your waist, like letting go would mean losing something he’s not ready to give up.
It only makes you angrier.
You shove at his chest, hard, but he barely budges. “Let go.” you snap, glaring up at him, but his expression doesn’t shift. He just watches you, jaw tight, eyes unreadable behind the shield of his silence.
That silence cuts deeper than anything.
“You ignored me for weeks!” you shout, your voice rising, cracking with something raw. “You didn’t even look at me. You shut me out like I meant nothing!”
You try again to pull away, like his touch burns. Like the heat of his hands is searing through your skin, cracking you open.
And it hurts him — more than he thought it would. Watching you try to escape him like he’s done something unforgivable — which he has — makes something twist in his chest. He wants to fix it, but he doesn’t know how. Every word you throw at him lands like a blow, and still, he doesn’t move. Doesn’t let go.
He just hurts.
“Let go!” you yell, louder now, fists balled as you push at him again. “I said fuck off, Aaron!”
You look up at him then — eyes blazing, cheeks flushed with anger, your frown etched deep into your face. The fury in your expression is undeniable, and it hits him like a punch.
And before he even realizes what he’s doing — he kisses you.
It comes out of nowhere. Like something snaps inside him, like instinct. It’s not gentle. It’s not soft. It’s angry and desperate and messy—like he’s trying to shut you up and apologize all at once. Like everything he’s been holding back has just erupted, too big to contain.
You freeze at first, tensing against it, breath caught in your throat.
But then you break.
Your hands fist in the lapels of his blazer, gripping hard like you need something to hold you upright. Your lips move against his with the same kind of fury you’d just thrown at him — like this is a fight, too. But somewhere in that chaos, your shoulders slump, and so do his.
Like you’re both exhaling for the first time in weeks.
Like this is the first breath either of you has taken since everything fell apart.
His hands move — one, then both — rising to cradle your face, fingers splayed across your cheeks like he’s terrified you’ll disappear if he lets go.
You pull back first, breaking the kiss with a gasp, your breath catching somewhere between his mouth and your own. His grip loosens, and for a second, something like a whine escapes him — soft and involuntary — like he can’t believe you’re already pulling away.
You’re breathless. Lips swollen. Heart racing.
“You’re such an asshole.” you hiss, voice low, hoarse, but still furious.
His eyes darken. “You were gonna kiss him.”
“Stop repeating that!” you snap, but there’s no bite behind it now — just exhaustion and heat and emotion so tangled you can’t separate any of it.
You don’t even think about it — you just lean in again, drawn like a magnet. And this time, he meets you halfway. Your lips part just before they touch, and when they do, it feels like the ground shifts beneath you. Like the jet could be spinning or crashing and you wouldn’t even notice.
It’s slower, deeper — but just as intense. His hands are still on your face, and yours are clinging to him like you don’t trust gravity anymore.
But then he pulls away.
His forehead drops to yours — close, so close — and for a moment you almost let him stay there. But something in you twists, and you turn your head just slightly, breaking the contact. You keep your eyes shut, breathing shallow, your face turned toward the wall of the jet like if you don’t look at him, you can hold onto the last piece of your anger.
His heart sinks.
“I’m sorry.” he says, his voice quieter now. Cracked open. “I’m sorry for all of it.”
You don’t move. Don’t look.
“I— I thought it was the right thing.” he says, and now it’s all unraveling, everything he’s shoved down clawing its way out. “I didn’t know how to handle what I felt for you. I didn’t know if I should. So I convinced myself the best thing — the most responsible thing — was to shut it down. To shut you out.”
He lets out a breath, sharp and rough. “I told myself you’d be better off. That you didn’t need someone like me — someone older, someone who barely knows how to process his own shit, let alone drag you into it. My hours are a nightmare, I’m exhausted all the time, and I have nothing to give you except… this mess.”
His voice softens but doesn’t steady. “And if Strauss found out, she wouldn’t hesitate to pull you off the team. To punish you for something that was always my fault.”
You still don’t speak. Your eyes remain closed.
“I thought I was doing the right thing,” he says again, quieter now, like it physically hurts to say. “But it felt like cutting off my own oxygen. Seeing you every day, hearing your voice, pretending you were just another agent — it fucking destroyed me. Every moment I stayed away, I felt like I was unraveling. But I thought… if I could just hold the line a little longer, maybe I could let you go.”
His voice cracks then, barely above a whisper. “But I couldn’t. I can’t.”
You don’t say anything, and the silence eats at him. He shifts slightly, eyes scanning your face like he’s trying to read anything — any flicker of emotion, of softness, of something.
“Please say something.” he murmurs.
There’s no anger in him anymore. Just regret. Just longing.
“I haven’t slept,” he says, after a second. “Not really. Not since I let you go. You’ve been in my head every day. Every night. You walk into the room and I can’t think straight. I hear your voice down the hall and I forget what I’m doing. It’s pathetic.”
Then gently — cautiously — he reaches out, fingers brushing against your chin. He turns your face to him, coaxing your eyes to his.
And when you look at him, he looks wrecked.
There’s exhaustion in his features, shadows beneath his eyes, but it’s the look in them that breaks you: raw, sincere, desperate. Like you’re the only thing anchoring him to earth right now.
“I’m sorry.” he says again, like it’s the only thing he has left to give. Like he means it with everything he’s got.
And he does.
It’s silent for a second.
His eyes search yours, unsure and a little frantic, like he’s trying to profile you again — trying to get an understanding of whatever’s going on in your mind.
He gives up quickly, wanting to find out whatever it is your thinking from you yourself. But just as he’s about to ask, you kiss him.
When you pull back, your hands stay on him, sliding down to his chest where you can feel the rapid, uneven rhythm of his heart.
“I don’t expect you to be perfect, Aaron.” you murmur, voice soft but steady. “I’m not. I barely have my own shit together half the time. And I’m not looking for some ideal version of you — just you. The version that cares too much and thinks too hard and carries everything on his back like it’s his job to keep the world spinning.”
You pause, your eyes searching his, and he doesn’t look away.
“I don’t want anyone else.” you say, more firmly now. “I can’t want anyone else. My heart’s already decided. It’s you. It’s always been you. These past few weeks without you—feeling you pull away, watching you pretend like nothing mattered—that was hell. And if you think I just brushed it off and moved on, you really don’t know me at all.”
You don’t stop there, because you can see it — how he’s still doubting, still not sure what you see in him. So you tell him.
“You don’t even realize how much I see you.” you whisper. “How good you are. You’re strong, yeah, but you’re also… unbelievably kind. You’re the one who makes me feel stable when everything else is a mess. You make me feel safe without trying to control me. You make me feel… things I didn’t even know I was capable of feeling.”
His brow creases like he doesn’t know what to do with that, like it’s too much, too pure.
“And I don’t give a damn about your age. If anything, it makes you hotter.” you add with a breath of a laugh. “It means you’ve lived, you’ve learned, and you listen. You make me feel taken care of in a way no one ever has.”
He’s blinking at you like his brain short-circuited somewhere along the way.
“As for Strauss…” You shrug a little. “She’s not a profiler. We barely even see her. If we keep things professional at work, we’ll be fine. We’re good at this — at keeping calm under pressure. This isn’t gonna change that.”
Then you take one of his hands and hold it tightly, pressing your fingers to his palm.
“All I want,” you say, voice low, “is for you to let me love you.”
Something in him breaks. Or maybe it mends. You can’t quite tell.
His eyes widen just a little, and for a second he just stares at you — like his brain is still catching up. Like the word punched the breath right out of him.
“What?” he asks, the word so soft it’s barely audible.
“I just want to love you, Aaron.” you repeat, quieter this time, like it’s a promise.
His breath shudders out of him, and he leans forward again — not kissing you yet, just resting his forehead against yours, like he needs the grounding.
“I love you.” he says, the words raw and unfiltered. “And I’m sorry. I’ll talk to you next time — really talk. I won’t shut you out again. I won’t let myself forget what this feels like.”
“You better not.” you murmur.
And then he kisses you again.
It’s steadier now. Certain. Like he’s finally, finally giving in to the truth he’s been denying. Like he knows what he wants — and it’s you.
As your lips move together, the world outside the jet fades into the background. His hand moves slowly, purposefully, down your side, and then it shifts, lowering until he reaches into your pocket.
You pull away a little, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Before you can fully process it, he pulls out the small piece of paper — the one with Ryan’s number scrawled on it.
Your heart skips a beat. He saw that?
The thought stings for a second — had he seen everything? You’d assumed he’d stepped outside for some reason and had just happened to catch a glimpse of you two — coincidentally, when you were about to kiss.
But Aaron’s mind works in a different way. He had seen you leave with Ryan, noticed the way you two were talking, the smiles on your faces. And something in him tensed. He didn’t like it. The way you were walking so close, how easy it seemed between you. So he followed, curiosity gnawing at him. He hadn’t meant to — but it felt like he had to know.
You break the silence with a quiet question, still trying to make sense of it all. “You saw that?”
Aaron’s jaw tightens, his face flickering with a flash of frustration, then quickly hardening as he remembers it.
“I saw all of it.” he says, his voice colder than you expected. A wince pulls at his expression as he scrunches the paper up in his hand, turning to toss it in the small bin beside the exit of the jet, the movement sharp and final.
You can’t help but let out a small, amused laugh despite the tension. His reaction, his possessiveness — it’s almost too much to ignore. But then, before he can get too far in his thoughts, you soften and murmur an apology. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to—”
He cuts you off with a question of his own, his gaze still intense as he watches you, his tone now a little guarded. “Were you actually going to kiss him?”
You blink, surprised by the bluntness, but you can’t help the smirk that slips onto your face. “Hey, you’re the one who paired me with him.”
Aaron rolls his eyes, the hint of frustration fading a little, but you can still see the sharp edge to his expression. “From now on, you’re with me for every case.”
You laugh at the thought, shaking your head, but the joke settles in as you reply, “I don’t think that’d help with keeping Strauss off our trail.”
Aaron chuckles, his eyes softening just a fraction, but he doesn’t back down. “I’ll risk it. It’s fine.”
Your laughter fills the space between you, and it warms Aaron’s heart more than he’d care to admit. He’s missed hearing it, hearing you so carefree, even when things feel a little chaotic.
He pulls you a little closer then, wrapping an arm around your waist as if he can’t let you go now that he’s got you. He starts guiding you off the jet with that same quiet confidence he always carries, but there’s something different now — a sense of peace between you both, even if the world outside still feels a little unsettled.
“You’re coming to my place.” he says, his voice low and steady. “I’m making you dinner.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”

── .✦ Luffy:
You sit at the far end of the Sunny’s deck, legs dangling over the side. The sea sparkles in the sun, and the wind plays with your hair. Luffy is across from you, lying on his back with his hat over his face.
You glance at him for the third time in one minute.
He lifts the hat just a bit “You’re staring again” he says with a grin.
“I’m not” you lie, too fast.
“You are.” Luffy sits up, stretching “Why?”
“Because you’re weird” you say, kicking the air with your feet.
Luffy laughs “That’s true! Can I kiss you?”
You smile, but quickly turn away when you hear footsteps. Sanji walks by with a tray of drinks. He looks at you, then at Luffy, then back at you. He squints.
“Something wrong with your face, Sanji?” you ask, trying to sound casual.
He frowns “No. Just… never mind. Dinner is almost ready.” He walks off.
You glance at Luffy. He’s watching you now.
“Do you think he knows?” you whisper.
Luffy shrugs “Maybe. But who cares?”
“I care! We said we’d keep this a secret, remember? You’re our captain, they will think I get favouritism or something.”
He pouts “I show favoritism to every single one of them. None of you even call me Captain… Who else in the world is a captain but isn’t even called ‘Captain’ by his own crew? Just me! And I really want to tell them.”
“We can’t” you say, standing up “Not yet. It’ll be weird. They’ll tease us forever.”
Luffy tilts his head “So?”
“So… I like it like this. Just us.”
He grins again and nods “Okay, okay. Just us. I like this too.”
But then Usopp yells from the other side of the ship, “Luffy! Why were you smiling like that? Did you eat something without me?!”
Luffy shouts back, “No! Mind your business for once!”
You giggle.
He looks at you, serious for a second “They’re gonna find out.”
“You’re a terrible liar but if we’re careful we can at least have some more time.” you say.
But even as you say it, you know its just a matter of days before Luffy will “accidentally” expose you.
“DINNER IS READY!”
Everyone is gathered around the table, plates stacked high with meat, rice, and bread. Sanji’s outdone himself again. Luffy is already three plates in, sauce all over his face and hands.
You’re chewing on a piece of pizza when a bit of sauce drips onto your chin.
Without even thinking, Luffy leans across the table with a napkin he just stole from Nami and wipes it away gently.
“Messy” he mumbles smiling at you, like it’s normal.
Everyone freezes.
Nami slowly lowers her fork. Zoro raises an eyebrow. Usopp’s mouth falls open.
Sanji blinks “What the hell was that?”
Luffy freezes like a statue, still holding the napkin mid-air.
You feel your soul leave your body.
“Are you two…” Nami starts, squinting hard, “…dating?”
Luffy sits up fast, and stay still like he’s got caught in the middle of stealing all the food.
Then he suddenly snaps “Absolutely fucking not! Why would you even think that?!”
Silence.
You blink.
Zoro tilts his head “You sure? ‘Cause that was some weird-ass behavior.”
“Yeah, dude,” Usopp adds “You never wipe anyone’s face. You don’t even wipe your own face.”
Nami who is still shocked “Did… did he just say absolutely fucking not?”
Luffy looks like a deer caught in a very obvious lie.
Your eye twitches.
You sigh, lean back in your chair, and say, “Yes… yes. We’re dating. That lie was so bad I can’t even pretend anymore.”
Nami chokes on her drink. Brook lets out a dramatic gasp. Chopper claps his hooves together.
All while you whisper “Stupid me, I even thought the worst scenario was you finding out in the next few days.”
Luffy looks at you, then back at them “Wait—so we’re telling them now?”
“No, you! You told them by being the worst liar I’ve ever seen.”
He scratches his head “Oops.”
“You literally said ‘absolutely fucking not’, not really in character from you, don't you think?”
He grins “I panicked…That made it more dramatic, right?”
Sanji stands up like he’s about to give a whole speech “When did this start? How long have you been hiding this from your family?”
You groan. Luffy laughs. Everyone starts shouting questions at once.
He leans over and nudges you with his elbow “Hey. At least it’s not a secret anymore. And they don't seem to mind it at all! You were so scared for nothing, look at them!”
You shove a piece of bread in his mouth “You owe me so many meat dinners.”
He just grins wider and keeps eating like nothing happened but with a grin that actually says everything happened.

── .✦ Sabo:
It’s quiet after dinner. The hum of HQ fades beneath the warm weight of Sabo’s arms around you. You’re curled up in his lap on the couch in his room, legs tangled, his coat draped over both of you like a blanket. He’s kissing you softly, lazily, like the world doesn’t need saving for just a few hours.
“You always smell like smoke” you whisper, nose brushing his.
Sabo chuckles, pressing another kiss to your cheek “And you smell like peace. So I guess we’re even.”
You smile, fingertips trailing the line of his jaw, just about to kiss him again when BANG. The door flies open.
Hack stands there. Eyes wide. Mouth slightly open. Absolutely regretting everything.
“…Oh...” he says flatly.
You launch upright, nearly taking the coat with you.
“WAIT—!”
But Sabo, not missing a beat, still lazily cradling your waist, says in a perfectly deadpan voice “Close the door. We’re not done yet.”
Hack’s brain visibly short-circuits.
He backs out slowly like he’s seen the gates of hell.
“Yup. Nope. Didn’t see anything. I need bleach. Where’s the bleach.”
The door clicks shut.
Silence.
You collapse against Sabo, face buried in his chest.
He just laughs, fingers drawing gentle circles on your back.
“Hack’s probably going to meditate in a cold stream after this.”
The next morning Koala kicks open your cabin door “Rise and shine, lazyass—training starts in twen—”
She stops.
Empty bed. No note. No sign of life.
Her eye twitches.
Cut to: Sabo’s room. She barges in without knocking.
“What the hell, have you seen—oh my GOD!”
You’re in Sabo’s bed. In his shirt.
He’s sleepily spooning you, arm wrapped tight around your waist, chin nestled in your hair like it’s the most natural thing in the world.
Koala freezes.
You freeze.
Sabo doesn’t move a muscle. Just groans, nuzzles into you, and pulls you back down under the covers.
“…So that’s why you’re both always smiling at morning drills” Koala mutters.
You peek over Sabo’s shoulder, hair a mess, whispering “Hack didn’t lock the door.”
Koala just turns on her heel “Unbelievable. I’m calling Dragon. You two need supervised training from now on.”
You’re both trying so hard to keep it a secret even now.
Swearing up and down: No more getting caught. No more accidental cuddling in public. No more open doors. NO MORE SPOONING IN SABO'S SHIRT WHILE KOALA SCREAMS.
And yet...
After a brutal training session, you’re the last two stragglers left on the field. The sun's setting, sweat gleaming on both of you, breath still heavy from sparring.
Sabo tosses his gloves aside, runs a hand through his messy, damp hair, and looks at you like you're made of starlight and rebellion.
He steps closer.
You’re flushed, smiling, practically glowing from the adrenaline.
He reaches out, fingers brushing your cheek.
"Nobody’s here," he murmurs, a little breathless “Just one kiss.”
You’re this close. This close. Lips nearly touching—BOOM.
Ivankov struts around the corner like they owns the damn place, fanning dramatically.
“OH honey, if you’re gonna get sweaty together, at least invite me to watch!”
You and Sabo JUMP apart like you’ve been electrocuted.
Sabo coughs violently and turns beet red while you trip over your own foot trying to act like you were doing literally anything else.
Ivankov is grinning like the cat who caught the canoodling lovebirds “You two are about as subtle as a sea king in a bathtub.”
Ivankov winks and keeps walking like nothing happened.
Sabo is frozen. You’re wheezing from secondhand embarrassment.
“…We suck at this.” you mutter.
Sabo just covers his face and groans, “I’m never going to hear the end of all this.”
By now, literally everyone has caught you and Sabo in some weirdly intimate moment, except for one man, Monkey D. Dragon. And that’s how the betting pool was born.
It started with Koala dropping 50 berries on “He finds them mid-make-out in the strategy room.”
Hack went in on “One of them slips up and calls the other ‘babe’ during a mission brief.”
Even Ivankov scribbled down “Sabo gets distracted by Y/N’s ass mid-battle. Dragon walks up behind him.”
There’s a whiteboard hidden in the break room with all their bets.
In all this you and Sabo are sitting on a bench overlooking the cliffside near HQ, pretending to "review maps". The sun is golden, the breeze is soft, and Sabo’s hand is definitely resting a little too high on your thigh for this to be strictly cartographic.
Sabo chuckles, tilting his head toward the training grounds “Koala’s been pointing at us through binoculars for the last ten minutes.”
You glance over and she waves. So does Ivankov, who is literally holding a notepad that says “DRAGON CATCHES THEM: THURSDAY AT 14:37”.
You groan, burying your face in Sabo’s shoulder “This is humiliating.”
He laughs, pressing a kiss to your hair “We could just tell him and so they'll stop.”
You both pause.
Then simultaneously say, “Nope.”
The next day, it’s supposed to be a standard mission call. Everyone’s focused, the mission is critical, and everything is tense.
Suddenly, in the middle of all the seriousness, something goes wrong. You’re trying to navigate a tricky situation on the field, and you have to quickly adjust your position, which means you shift out of the line of communication for a second.
Sabo watches, trying to get your attention, then blurts out, completely unintentionally “Careful, babe.”
The whole call goes silent. The Den Den Mushi crackles with static, and suddenly, everyone on the call freezes.
Dragon (deadpan, calm as ever) “...What did you just say, Sabo?”
You immediately go white and you whip around to look at Sabo with wide eyes, panic setting in. You can hear Ivankov’s voice in the background, already laughing.
You “SABO, ARE YOU DUMB?!”
Sabo turns a brilliant shade of red "I—I didn’t mean—"
Everyone on the call is absolutely losing it.
Koala, trying to hold back laughter “Oh my God. Did you—did you just call them babe?!”
Hack, in the most deadpan voice ever “I won, right? I absolutely won this bet.”
You’re trying to keep your cool, but you can’t. You can’t. You cover your face, groaning.
Dragon, ever the calm voice in the storm, but with a clear edge of irritation “Next time, keep the personal affections off the mission calls. You're lucky this wasn’t an urgent situation. We almost got compromised.”
You can feel the heat rising in your cheeks. You glance at Sabo, who looks like he’s about to combust.
You, exasperated “Sabo, f***, you made me get scolded! This is so embarrassing!”
Sabo, still trying to apologize “I—I didn’t mean it like that! It was just a slip—”
But the damage is already done.
Dragon, his voice slightly dry “We’ll talk about this later. Focus on the mission. And next time—be more professional.”
As the call ends, the atmosphere is tense. You and Sabo are left standing there, feeling like two complete idiots.
Later that day, the break room is chaos. Hack is smugly holding up his winnings from the betting pool. Koala is still laughing, and Ivankov is offering “support” by teasing Sabo non-stop.
You, on the other hand, are doing your best to avoid eye contact with everyone as Sabo sulks in the corner.
You, barely holding it together “I hate you right now. I really do.”
Sabo “I swear, I didn’t mean to. I’m so sorry.”
“You didn’t mean to, but you’re still an idiot.”
Sabo rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly “…I deserve that.”

── .✦ Kid:
You don’t really think much of it the first time.
A small, clumsily wrapped package left outside your room on the Victoria Punk. The paper’s crinkled like it was balled up five times before someone gave up and tied it with rough twine.
Inside a shiny little trinket you’d mentioned wanting in passing weeks ago.
You raise a brow but say nothing. Maybe someone’s just being nice.
Then it happens again. And again.
Each gift is messy but thoughtful, like someone’s trying to be sweet. A handmade weapon accessory here. Your favorite snacks there. One day, a scrawled note reads, “Don’t let anyone else have this. It’s for you only” not signed.
The crew notices. Of course they do.
Heat starts humming “Someone’s got a secret admirer~.”
Wire goes like “Who even knew you liked that kind of thing?”
Killer, raising a brow behind his mask “...It’s weirdly specific, though. Whoever it is knows you pretty well.”
You try to play it off, but the teasing doesn’t stop. It only gets louder. More obnoxious.
Kid, arms crossed, leaning against the railing “Tch. Who cares? Buncha idiots drooling over gifts like teenagers.”
You glance at him out of the corner of your eye.
He's unbothered. Disinterested. Completely unfazed.
That night, when the ship’s quiet and everyone’s turned in, you knock on his door. He opens it in a loose tank top and sleep-rumpled hair, eyes narrowing.
“What.”
You cross your arms “Are the gifts from you?”
He blinks “What?”
“The stuff. The notes. The snacks. You’re the only one who listens that closely.”
A flicker of something passes through his expression, too fast to catch. But then his scowl deepens.
“You think I’ve got time to play secret admirer with you? Hell no.”
You stare at him, caught off guard.
“…You’re serious?”
He scoffs and turns away “Go to sleep. You’re imagining things.”
He slams the door behind him. You’re left in the hall, heart twisting a little. Because he sounded so convincing.
But if it’s not him… Then who the hell is it?
After that night with Kid, you really do try to let it go. But the crew doesn’t.
You can't walk into the mess hall without someone raising an eyebrow or tossing a comment.
Wire leans back in his chair one morning, boots on the table, biting into an apple with a grin “Hey, Y/N, no new packages today? What a tragedy. Guess your mystery lover finally ran out of ideas.”
Heat chuckles, elbowing him “Or maybe they’re just planning something bigger. Like a grand confession. What do you think, huh? Gonna be roses next time?”
You, dryly “Right. I’ll expect fireworks off the port side.”
Killer, voice calm but laced with amusement from beneath the mask “Honestly, I’m more impressed by the consistency. Whoever it is, they’re either very devoted… or very stupid.”
Kid, across the room, is pretending not to hear, arms crossed, eyes on something that doesn't exist. His jaw’s clenched so tight, you can see it from here.
You catch his eye for a second but he looks away fastly.
The next morning, nothing shows up. Then the next. And the next.
You don’t say anything about it. Neither does Kid. But something’s different in the air now, like tension caught in a bottle, just waiting to explode.
One night, you’re lying tangled up together, the hum of the ship quiet around you. He’s half asleep, heavy arm slung across your waist, his hand lazily tracing circles on your skin.
Your head is on his chest, warm and steady.
“…I haven’t gotten any new gifts lately” you mumble, mostly to yourself.
He stiffens just slightly, but doesn’t say a word.
You chew on your lip “Think they found out about us? Maybe they backed off.”
Still nothing.
You lift your head and look at him “You ever think about who it might’ve been? Kinda funny, right? Maybe someone on the crew really had a thing for me.”
Still no response.
You grin a little “What if it was Killer? You think he’s the poetic type? Am I his type?”
Before you can say another word—whump.
A pillow slams into your face, hard enough to make you roll.
“HEY!” you shout, laughing “You absolute brat!”
Kid doesn’t even look guilty.
“You’re annoying” he mutters, but there’s a faint blush rising to his ears. He turns his head, scowling at the ceiling like it insulted him personally.
You smirk, poking him in the side “Ohh, someone’s touchy…”
“I’m throwing you off the bed.”
“You’re not strong enough.”
“Wanna bet?”
Weeks pass.
Everyone moves on. The secret admirer jokes fade. Kid goes back to normal, grumpy, snarky, yours. You figure that weird little mystery chapter is just done.
Until one day, you find a new gift.
Not one of its usual ones, no haphazard twine, no angry handwriting. This one’s clean, careful. Wrapped in deep red paper with a ribbon tied perfectly.
Inside: a carved charm. Elegant. Personal.
The note says “Couldn’t help myself. Thought you’d like this.”
Your heart actually skips a beat.
You march straight to the engine bay, holding it up like evidence. Kid’s elbow-deep in mechanical guts, oil smeared on his hands.
“Hey,” you call “Now... is this from you?”
He glances up, sees the box, and freezes “What the fuck is that?”
“A gift. Someone left it for me. Just now.”
The silence is nuclear.
Then his voice explodes “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!”
He storms past you like a cannonball with legs, throwing open the engine bay doors and stomping onto the deck.
“ALRIGHT,” he bellows, voice booming across the ship, “WHOEVER THE HELL THINKS THEY CAN FLIRT WITH MY PARTNER—UGH COME SAY IT TO MY FACE!”
Everyone stops what they’re doing.
A wrench drops. Someone chokes on their food. Killer just sighs.
“YOU HEARD ME!” Kid’s pacing like a madman, hair wild, coat half falling off one shoulder “YOU THINK YOU CAN STEAL MY ONE WITH PRETTY RIBBONS?! Y/N IS MINE. MINE!”
You bury your face in your hands and whisper "Please stop, this is really embarassing."
Killer, calmly from the upper deck “Well. That answers that. We all knew the original gifts were from you, Eustass.”
Heat, grinning “Yeah, but I thought he’d last a little longer before breaking.”
Wire, yelling from the mess hall window “PAY UP! I SAID HE’D CRACK WHEN A REAL RIVAL SHOWED UP!”
You’re still standing in the middle of the storm, holding the new gift while your hot-headed boyfriend is screaming at the ocean.
You, deadpan “Great. Now the whole Grand Line knows.”
Kid, turning to you like you betrayed him “WHY WERE YOU SMILING AT IT?!
“Because I thought it was from you again!”
“WELL, IT WASN’T. AND NOW I’M GONNA MURDER WHOEVER THAT WAS.”
The deck is still vibrating from Kid’s volume. He’s stomping around like a territorial lion, red in the face and shouting murder oaths into the wind.
“COME ON! WHO WAS IT?! WHO THINKS THEY’VE GOT A CHANCE?! I’LL BREAK YOUR TEETH IN.”
You’re standing there, clutching the new gift, wondering if you’ll have to tackle him to keep the crew alive.
But then Killer steps forward, calm as ever “Kid.”
Nothing.
Killer raises his voice slightly “Kid!”
That gets through. Kid slows, turns, still wild-eyed “What?! You want me to let someone just—?!”
Killer sighs like he’s been dealing with this since the womb “That gift wasn’t from a rival. It was from us all.”
The entire crew falls silent.
You blink “Wait—what?”
Killer glances at you, then back to Kid, arms crossed “We knew the first gifts were from you. We’ve known for a while.”
Kid opens his mouth. Closes it. Opens it again “You—WHAT?!”
Heat, leaning against the rail with a huge grin “C’mon. You thought we wouldn’t recognize your handwriting? You write like you’re trying to fight the paper.”
Wire, popping his head out from the doorway “And who else would wrap a gift in metal wire and call it ‘aesthetic’?"
Killer adds “We figured if we pushed you enough, you’d confess eventually. That final gift was just the nudge.”
Kid stares at them like they’ve grown two heads “So it was a trap?!”
Killer, with a shrug “It worked.”
Then Killer turns to you “What we didn’t know was that you two were already together.”
There’s a ripple of surprise through the crew.
Wire nods “Yeah! Let's go back to that because... like... what?”
Heat nods even more dramatically “Yeah! Since when?!”
You, dryly “A few months before the first gift showed up.”
Kid’s jaw tightens like he regrets every decision leading to this moment.
“You guys are the worst” he growls.
Heat, wheezing “We’re the worst?! You’ve been sneaking around and flirting through weapon mods!”
Wire, laughing “AND YOU STILL DENIED IT TO Y/N’S FACE?!”
Kid lets out a sound somewhere between a growl and a scream and turns to you like you’re his last hope of escaping humiliation.
You just grin at him “C’mon, Captain. Let’s go before you combust.”
He’s still grumbling when you tug his arm and drag him below deck, muttering curses under his breath the whole way.

── .✦ Shanks:
The sea is quiet tonight.
The crew laughs near the campfire, their voices loud under the stars. You sit a little away from them, pretending to look at the moon. But really, you’re waiting. Waiting for him.
A warm hand touches your shoulder from behind.
“Miss me?” Shanks whispers, his voice soft like a wave brushing the shore.
You smile without turning “You’re late.”
“I had to talk to Benn. Captain stuff,” he says. Then he leans in close “But I’ve been thinking of you the whole time.”
You giggle, quiet “Liar.”
“I’m a pirate. What did you expect?”
Finally, you turn to him. Shanks is smiling that lazy smile you know too well. His red hair glows under the moonlight. His eyes? All on you.
“Don't look at me like that, someone might see it” you whisper, looking at the crew.
“They won’t,” he says “They’re drunk, loud, and too busy telling stories.”
You glance again. He’s right. No one is looking.
So you let him pull you behind the palm trees. The sand is warm under your feet, and the wind carries the scent of salt and firewood. He sits down and opens his arms.
“Come here.”
You crawl into his lap like it’s the most natural thing in the world. He wraps his one arm around your waist, holding you close.
“I missed you today” you say.
“I missed you too” he says. Then he kisses the top of your head “You know what keeps me going?”
“What?”
“This. Just this.”
You press your face into his chest “You’re soft for a pirate.”
He laughs, his chest shaking “Only with you.”
The night is quiet now. Just the waves and the sound of his heartbeat.
He whispers, “One day, when this secret doesn’t have to be a secret anymore… I’ll hold your hand in front of everyone. I’ll kiss you right on the deck.”
You look up at him “Promise?”
“I swear on the one piece.”
You laugh again, and he kisses your nose “That’s a big promise” you say.
“I never break my promises” he says.
And in that moment, under the stars and hidden from the world, you believe him.
It’s late now. The fire has burned low. The crew is asleep, scattered in hammocks or on the beach.
But you’re wide awake.
You stare at the door of his cabin. You know it’s risky. But your heart pulls you there anyway.
You knock once, soft.
The door opens almost instantly. He’s there, sleepy eyes and messy hair. Shirt half buttoned.
“Couldn’t sleep?” he asks with a small smile.
You shake your head “Can I… stay?”
He doesn’t answer with words. Just steps aside, lets you in, and closes the door behind you.
His room smells like sea salt, old paper, and something that’s just him. It’s small but warm. The bed takes up most of the space.
“You sure you want to risk it?” he teases, pulling the blankets back.
You nod, already crawling in “You’re warm. That’s worth the risk.”
He chuckles, switching off the lantern “Come here then.”
The bed creaks as he joins you. You curl into his chest. His arm wraps around you tightly, like he’s afraid you’ll vanish.
You whisper into the dark, “I love when it’s just us.”
“I know,” he says, resting his chin on your head “Me too.”
Silence for a moment. Just your breaths, your hearts. Together.
Then he says, quietly, “I always sleep better when you’re here.”
You grin, even though he can’t see it.
“You snore” you whisper.
“Lies.”
“Loudly.”
He laughs, low and soft “I’m a captain. I’m allowed.”
You snuggle closer, legs tangled, warmth everywhere. His hand finds yours under the blanket. Fingers laced, easy and natural.
“Stay every night,” he says, voice almost a mumble now “Even if they find out. Even if it’s chaos. I don’t care anymore.”
“You’ll care when Benn gives you that look” you say.
“I’ll survive it,” he says “I won’t survive not having you.”
You go quiet at that. Because sometimes, he says things that hit your heart like a wave.
“I won’t survive not having you either” you whisper.
He kisses your forehead. Gentle. Safe. Real.
In the morning, the sunlight slips through the cracks in the window, painting golden stripes across the bed.
You stretch, warm and safe, still tucked under Shanks’ arm. He’s already awake, watching you with sleepy eyes and a soft smile.
“Morning” he whispers, brushing hair from your face.
“Morning” you mumble back, voice still scratchy from sleep.
He leans down and kisses your cheek “You drooled a little.”
“Liar.”
“You did.”
You groan, roll over, and bury your face in his pillow “I hate you.”
“No, you don’t.”
You don’t.
But you’re very late.
You were supposed to help Lucky Roux in the kitchen twenty minutes ago. But after all the cuddling and stealing kisses between brushing your teeth and Shanks being distracting (on purpose), you throw on the nearest shirt and rush out the door.
The morning air hits your face. The crew is already up, busy with chores, chatting, moving crates, laughing.
You walk fast, head down, trying not to look guilty. But then someone says behind you, “Hey…”
You freeze.
It’s Yasopp.
He squints, then tilts his head “That shirt looks kinda familiar…”
You look down. Big, red, half-buttoned pirate shirt. Smells faintly like rum and sea and... you.
It’s his shirt.
You force a smile “Oh, really? I, um… I just bought this yesterday in town! Crazy, right?”
Yasopp blinks “It’s just... Shanks has one just like that.”
You laugh. Too loud “That’s so funny! What a coincidence!”
He raises an eyebrow “Uh-huh.”
You start walking again “Okay, bye! Gotta go stir the stew!”
You practically run to the kitchen, slam the door behind you, and press your back to it, heart racing.
Lucky Roux looks up from chopping onions “You okay?”
“Fine! Everything’s fine! Great! Love onions!”
You spend the next hour hiding in the kitchen, trying to look very busy.
You’re scrubbing a spoon like it just insulted your whole family when you hear footsteps outside.
Then, his voice.
“Mmh…”
It’s Shanks.
You freeze.
“I swear I left it here somewhere…” he mumbles, mostly to himself.
Lucky Roux looks up “Captain?”
Shanks scratches his head “My red shirt. The one with the loose buttons? I wanted to wash it but… maybe I already did? Or someone moved it?”
You choke on air.
Lucky Roux’s eyes widen.
You slowly turn, still holding the spoon, sweat forming on your back.
Yasopp walks in right then, and Lucky Roux points at you silently.
Yasopp follows the finger… sees the very red shirt you’re wearing… and his jaw drops.
“Oh… my… GOD.”
You raise your hands like you’re being arrested “I can explain—”
“No no no no, don’t you dare,” Yasopp says, pointing now “This is amazing. Since when?!”
Shanks, confused, looks between you and them “Wait… what’s happening?”
Your face burns “Shanks. This is your shirt.”
He blinks.
Looks at you.
Then at the shirt.
Then back.
“Oh.”
The silence lasts about two seconds.
Then the entire kitchen explodes.
“What the hell?!”
“You two?!”
“I KNEW IT!”
Lucky Roux claps like he just saw a proposal “This is the best day of my life.”
You groan and hide behind a cabinet door.
Shanks laughs, holding up his hands “Okay, okay, okay, you got us.”
Yasopp shouts, “Since when?”
Shanks grins and leans casually against the table “Mmh… A while. Since that one stop in Lougetown.”
“That was months ago!” someone yells.
You peek out, blushing “We were being careful!”
“You wore his shirt” Yasopp deadpans.
Shanks throws an arm around your shoulder “Guess we don’t have to be careful anymore.”
The crew starts chanting something dumb like “KISS KISS KISS!” and you groan again, but Shanks just laughs and plants a quick kiss on your temple, bold and smug.
“Oh you're actually loving all this” you whisper.
“A lot” he whispers back.

── .✦ Bartolomeo:
You didn’t mean to fall for Bartolomeo.
It kind of… just happened.
Between the screaming, the fangirling, the way he glared at anyone who looked at you too long. But somewhere between the nonsense, you found something real.
He loves big. Loud. Unfiltered. But when no one’s watching? He loves so quietly, you can barely believe it’s the same guy.
Right now, you're hiding in the hallway of the ship, tucked behind a stack of crates. Bartolomeo is sitting cross-legged, handing you a rice ball.
“I made it for you!” he says, puffing out his chest “I watched a tutorial. It’s heart-shaped!”
You look down. It’s… more like a lumpy circle, but you smile anyway.
“It’s perfect” you say.
His face turns red “Y/n…” He sways a little, hand over his heart “You’re too kind… I’m gonna DIE!”
You laugh and take a bite.
“Don’t die. You still owe me cuddles tonight.”
“RIGHT. YES. I shall live for the cuddles.”
The secret has stayed safe. So far.
Except today, you dock on an island with a bunch of rowdy pirates who definitely pick a fight before lunch.
You’re in the middle of battle, blocking with a staff, when one pirate gets too close and knocks you to the ground.
You’re fine. A little scratched. But Bartolomeo sees it happen. And then it happens.
He turns.
He screams.
“THAT’S MY BABYYYYYYYYY—!”
Everyone stops.
Even the wind pauses.
You slowly get up. Face blank.
He freezes.
His hand is mid-air, about to use his barrier powers. His eyes wide.
“…Did I just say that out loud?” he whispers.
The entire crew is staring.
Someone goes, “Wait. Your baby???”
You try to speak “Uh—he means—”
“I MEAN WHAT I SAID,” Bartolomeo yells again, fully panicking now “Y/N IS MY BABY. MY LOVE. MY SWEET CHERRY BLOSSOM—”
“BARTO,” you hiss “Stop confessing in front of everyone!”
Too late.
He throws his hands up and suddenly there’s a giant heart-shaped barrier around you two. Sparkly. Pink. Absolutely not subtle.
He turns to you “At least we’re alone now.”
You facepalm “There’s a window, Barto.”
You hear cheering from outside.
“THEY’RE DATINGGGGG!”
“PAY UP, I TOLD YOU THEY WERE!”
“DOES LUFFY KNOW?!”
You sigh.
Bartolomeo wraps you in his arms, completely unbothered now “So… secret’s out.”
You look up at him “What gave it away? The screaming or the love bubble prison?”
“…Both?”
You can’t help it. You laugh. He kisses your forehead.
“I love you” he says.
“I love you too” you whisper, even if the entire world hears it now.
After that no one seems to actually care about the two of you.
Weeks later you and Bartolomeo are docked on a chill island when you run into the last people you expected: the Straw Hat Pirates.
Luffy spots you both instantly.
“YO, BARTO!!” he shouts, waving like a madman.
Bartolomeo screams, throws himself to the ground, and starts sobbing with joy.
“LUFFY-SENPAI! I WOULD DIE FOR YOU! THANK YOU FOR BREATHING IN MY DIRECTION!!”
You’re behind him like “Okay, this is fine.”
You greet the rest of the crew like normal. Everyone’s smiling, happy to see you, no one suspects a thing.
You and Bartolomeo agreed before getting there: keep it private. You didn’t want anyone or worse, Luffy finding out. Bartolomeo is just way better when it's just the two of you.
That night, it happens.
“GAME NIGHT!” Usopp shouts “Winner gets free food!”
The crew splits into teams. You get pulled into a round of a random game and of course you end up against Luffy.
Everyone’s crowded around. People are yelling. Sanji’s handing out drinks. Robin and Nami are judging.
Luffy’s up first.
He draws a card and starts flapping his arms.
“Bird!” “Chicken!” “Flying fish!” “Zoro waking up late!”
He gets it.
Then it’s your turn.
You pull your card and immediately drop to the ground, trying to act out a seal (It’s harder than it looks).
People are guessing like crazy.
"Penguin!" "Sea cow?"
Luffy squints.
Bartolomeo, sitting quietly in the back with popcorn, clutches his cup.
He stares at you with so much intensity, it’s insane.
And then it happens... again.
You clap your hands and bounce a little, still acting out the seal.
He jumps to his feet.
“YES BABY! GO! DESTROY HIM!! YOU GOT THIS, MY LITTLE WAR MACHINE!!”
Silence.
Everyone stares.
You freeze mid-flap.
Luffy slowly turns “Wait… Baby?”
Zoro raises an eyebrow “Little war what?”
Nami drops her drink.
Chopper gasps so hard he hiccups.
Sanji says “Wait a damn minute...”
Bartolomeo realizes too late. Hands fly to his mouth.
You’re still stuck in seal position, blinking.
Robin, smiling softly “Well… that explains the way he looks at you.”
You turn to look at him, mad “Do you even try??”
Usopp yells, “YOU TWO?! YOU’VE BEEN DATING THIS WHOLE TIME?!”
Bartolomeo’s face is red as a tomato “I… I didn’t mean to! y/n was just so cute pretending to be a seal...”
You slap your forehead.
Luffy, wide-eyed, just goes, “Whoa. You’re dating my number one fan. That’s crazy. He even choose to cheer for you.”
You sigh “Yeah. It is.”
And then he bursts out laughing “THAT’S SO COOL!”
The whole crew joins in, laughing, teasing, clapping Bartolomeo on the back. He’s half-proud, half-mortified, but he doesn’t stop smiling all night.
Later, when the chaos dies down, he wraps an arm around your waist and whispers, “Sorry, babe.”
You smirk “For cheering too loud?”
“For waiting this long to yell about how amazing you are.”
You roll your eyes “I liked the ‘my little war machine’ part.”
He gasps “Really?! I was just improvising!”
“Never do that again.”
“Okay but also… you were winning.”

Tumblr media
LEE HEESEUNG
you’re standing by the mirror, lazily applying a sheer pink gloss to your lips, and heeseung watches from behind—he mutters, “fuck,” under his breath. you glance at him through the mirror, pretending not to notice the way he’s practically burning holes into your reflection. “baby,” he drawls, sauntering up behind you, “you tryna kill me or what?” his hands find your waist, and he dips his head to your ear, voice dropping, “you always look good, but this? this is criminal.” you hum, smirking as you press your lips together for the final coat. “what? a little gloss got you weak?” he groans, resting his forehead on your shoulder. “you have no idea. come here, pretty girl. lemme ruin it.”
PARK JAY
you do a little spin in front of the mirror, the fabric of the new dress swaying around your legs, and jay just stands there—completely entranced. he leans against the doorframe, arms crossed, eyes going up and down. “that’s my princess,” he says, and when you glance over, he’s already walking toward you. “you look beautiful,” he murmurs, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. “you really like it?” you whisper, a little shy, and his smile only softens more. “i didn’t just like it on the mannequin, baby. i imagined you in it—and i was still underestimating how stunning you’d look.” you wrap your arms around his neck, and he presses a kiss to your forehead. “perfect,” he says again. “just perfect.”
SIM JAKE
you’re casually tying your hair up, completely unaware of the effect it’s having on jake until you hear a low whistle from behind you. you turn slightly, catching him leaned back in his chair, arms crossed, that cocky smirk tugging at his lips. “you do that on purpose, don’t you?” he teases, eyes shamelessly dragging down your neck like he’s already memorized every inch. you roll your eyes, but he’s already up, standing behind you, before his lips brush your neck. “how the hell did i get this lucky?” he mutters. “no seriously, baby, you’re tying your hair and i’m ready to risk it all. you tryna kill me today?” you laugh, trying to squirm away, but he only grins wider. you’re not going anywhere. i’m obsessed, remember?”
PARK SUNGHOON
you’re talking about something random—weekend plans, maybe—but sunghoon’s barely following, his eyes flickering to your lips mid-sentence and lingering a beat too long. he shifts slightly, leans back on the couch like he’s unbothered, but the way he bites his bottom lip says otherwise. “mm, yeah?” he says absently, trying to keep the conversation going, but his gaze drops again and definitely not subtle. “you’re not even listening,” you tease, and he shrugs, eyes flicking back up to yours. “i am,” he says smoothly, voice low. “just... multitasking.” you raise an eyebrow and he lets out the tiniest scoff, clearly caught. “can’t help it, baby. you’re distracting as hell,” he mutters. “keep talking, though. i like your lips—i mean i like listening to you talk”
KIM SUNOO
sunoo leans against the doorway, arms crossed and eyes fixed on you like you’re the only thing that matters. you’re standing in front of the mirror, carefully putting on your earrings, when you feel his gaze. “stop looking at me like that,” you mumble, heat crawling up your neck, but he just pouts, chin dipping slightly as he tilts his head. “but you’re so cute,” he whines, pushing off the wall and coming up behind you, and staring at you through the mirror. “can’t help it, baby.” his cheek rests against yours, eyes meeting yours in the mirror as he grins, nose scrunching in that way that makes your heart actually do a cartwheel. “you’re gonna make me late,” you huff, and he giggles, pressing a kiss just below your ear. “worth it though.”
YANG JUNGWON
you’re half-asleep, tangled in the sheets with your hair sticking out in every direction, face bare and eyes barely open when jungwon walks in, carrying two mugs of tea. he pauses mid-step, eyes softening immediately as he sets the cups down and crawls onto the bed beside you. “you’re the prettiest thing i’ve ever seen,” he says like it’s the most obvious thing in the world, brushing a strand of hair off your face. you groan, hiding under the covers. “wonnie, i literally look like a monster.” he just laughs, tugging the blanket down gently. “a very cute poster,” he teases, kissing your forehead with the sweetest smile. “my cute monster.” you swat at his chest, but he just smiles, slipping an arm around your waist and pulling you closer. “i mean it, baby. makeup or not—you’re always so pretty to me.” and the worst part is, he reallymeans it.
NISHIMURA RIKI
you’re on your tiptoes, fingers barely brushing the box on the top shelf, tank top riding up just enough to make you curse under your breath—and of course, riki’s there, leaning against the doorway like he’s watching a damn show. “need help?” he drawls, voice low and smug, arms crossed as his eyes shamelessly drop to your exposed skin. you shoot him a glare over your shoulder, “i’ve got it,” but he’s already moving closer, chest brushing your back. “sure, baby,” he chuckles, plucking the box down with ease. “just figured i’d help before you broke your neck.” you swat at him, but he only laughs harder. “you’re so cute when you’re mad,” he murmurs. god, you hate him. hate how your heart races. hate how he knows it. hate how good he looks when he smirks like that.

Backseat Tension
synopsis: a cramped car, too little space, and Mark’s lap becomes your seat.
Tumblr media
˖ ── Mark G. x fem!reader | warning: NSFW, public tension, heavy makeout, semi-exhibitionism, dry humping, messy kissing, grinding, teasing, mild voyeurism
You don't even remember how it happened or how the hell you ended up in Mark's lap. Something about there not being enough space, and him saying “You can just sit here.” Like it was no big deal.
The car ride was cramped, squished in the back with bags and boxes from Rick helping William move into his new college dorm. You tried to squeeze into a corner, but there wasn't enough room. Not with all the stuff piled in the backseat. Boxes of books, bags of clothes, and a few random things that Rick hadn't packed right. The space was a mess, leaving you no choice but to sit on Mark’s lap.
Now here you are.
Stuffed in the backseat, on his thighs. Not only that.
It's hot.
No windows down, no nothing. The Ac in the front is blasting but you couldn't feel it, but you could feel his hands resting low on your waist. His breath warm against the side of your neck.
And every bump in the road has you feeling him.
The tension is insane.
You try not to move and ignore the way his thighs shifted beneath you. Your shorts are definitely not doing a good job of separating the two of you.
You feel him,
God, you feel everything.
Ignoring those dirty thoughts of what would happen if you just had five minutes alone. Ignoring how his hands have slid a little lower or how his fingers twitch, like he's fighting every instinct not to pull you closer. His lips ghosting over your shoulder, just enough to make you shiv–
“Is everything good back there?” William’s voice suddenly cuts through the silence.
You froze
Mark stiffens under you.
You sit up straight, way too fast. “Y-Yeah! All good! Great, even.”
Rick glances at William with a sly smirk. “You sure? Kinda quiet back there..” You swear you hear William snort.
Mark pressed his face into your shoulder, biting back a groan. “They know,” he mutters under his breath.
You whisper, “Do you have to be this close?”
“I'm not doing anything” he lies through his teeth, but the grip on your waist tightens just slightly. You can feel how hard his breathing is, how hard he is beneath you. You pretend not to notice the bulge underneath you.
Another bump in the road. Mark lets out a shaky breath, his lips ghosting your skin. “Stop moving so much.”
You glanced towards the front seat. Rick is adjusting the music, but William? He's peeking in the rearview mirror with a knowing look. “Beheave back there” William says in a playful voice. “Or we’re kicking you out.”
Mark leans in closer, whispering to you. “We wouldn't even make it to the sidewalk.” You know he's teasing but his voice, the way he said and how he's looking at you, like he means it.
You swallow hard and try to focus on anything else, the road, the music, the way William and Rick are bickering over directions.
But all you can feel is Mark.
The second William pulls into the gas station, you know.
Oh you know.
Rick’s talking about snacks, asking if anyone wants something from inside the gas station and Williams’s too busy reading the pump instructions like he doesn't already know how gas works. But Mark has that look. Ready to pounce on you look.
“You stayin in the car?” He asks in a low voice. Your heart skips a beat. “Yeah. Why?” Mark doesn't answer. Not with words anyways.
You shiver at his touch, his hands move higher. Cupping your breasts through the thin fabric of your shirt. “They'll be gone for five minutes.” Pulling you closer, “And I've been dying for hours.”
You try to say something clever but he captures your lips in a slow, deep kiss. His mouth moving against yours with a hunger that takes your breath away. His tongue slipping past your parted lips to explore every inch of your mouth.
Hard and needy.
You moan into the kiss, your hands tangled all in his hair. The kiss is messy and sloppy. The car rocks slightly, just a little at first but enough for you to pull back. "Mark–"
“They can’t see us,” he cuts in, voice thick, eyes half lidded. “Windows are foggy and you're shaking.”
You are. You haven't even noticed and the worst part? You don't want to stop. “Look at you” He breathes heavily. “You wanna get caught don't you?” You can feel your arousal building up, your panties soaked with your juices. “Shut up,”
The car creaks and rocks with every shift of your hips.
You try not to moan. His mouth sucking on your breast while his hands fondles and pinches your nipple. Grinding on his thighs, letting out a sound you couldn't even describe, feeling the urgency. You reach down, fumbling with the button of his jeans.
Desperate to feel his skin against yours.
And then–
A muffled voice from outside. “Yo Mark! You want a drink?” William’s shouting from the gas station door. You stopped. Lips swollen, legs trembling.
Mark bites back a groan, forehead pressed against yours. “If he comes back right now. I swear im-”
You slap his chest. “Get it together!”
He chuckles. “You're the one on top babe,”
You cleared your throat. “Red slushie” you said, voice barely steady.
“We’re not even halfway done.” He whispered.
And he was right, you were nowhere near finished.

Ace Trappola
Tumblr media
The library was unusually quiet for a Thursday afternoon, the hum of distant conversation muffled by the towering shelves of books and the occasional creak of an old wooden chair. You sat in the farthest corner, your favorite spot, hunched over your notebook but not really writing. Not really thinking, either.
You were doodling again—him, of course. The slightly messy hair that was always a shade redder in the sunlight, the crooked smirk that came out right before he teased someone (or charmed them), and those stupid little hearts he sometimes made with his hands just to be annoying. Ace Trappola.
You sighed and dropped your pencil, watching it roll off the desk. “Ugh, why is he so cute,” you mumbled under your breath, face down in your arms.
It wasn’t like he knew you existed in any special way. Sure, you were classmates, sometimes group partners, sometimes sparring partners in flight class. He joked with you a lot, yeah. But he joked with everyone. He winked at everyone. He didn’t look at you the way you looked at him—soft, lingering, completely lovesick.
You were convinced Ace belonged in a whole different universe than you. He was bold, charming, magnetic. And you? You were… fine. Okay. Passable. Not his type, whatever that was. So you kept it inside. You giggled with your friends about how cute he looked in his uniform, you wrote little daydreams in your journal and then crossed them out, and you tried to survive the actual conversations with him without letting the pink in your cheeks get too noticeable.
What you didn’t know—what you couldn’t have known—was that Ace had been hovering outside the aisle for the past five minutes.
He’d come to return a book, seen you, and almost walked away. But your muttering had stopped him cold.
He leaned a little closer, his heartbeat just a bit too loud in his ears. Did you just call him cute? No way. You were probably talking about some manga character.
But then you sighed again and muttered, “He’d never like someone like me. Not when he’s... him.”
And something in Ace's chest twisted.
He stepped out casually, pretending like he hadn’t just eavesdropped on your heartbreak. “Yo,” he said, tossing the book on the return cart. “Didn’t know you talked to yourself. Should I be worried?”
You jolted upright, face turning crimson the moment you saw him. “A-Ace?!”
He leaned on the edge of your desk, eyes scanning your doodles. “Wow, that guy looks exactly like me,” he teased. “You got a little crush or something?”
You tried to cover the page, but it was too late. Panic surged in your chest, your throat tightening as every possible excuse dried up on your tongue.
Ace tilted his head, smirk fading just slightly into something softer. “Hey,” he said, quieter now. “Was that about me back there? What you said?”
You froze. Busted.
He laughed—gently, not the loud, showy kind. “You think I’m out of your league? That’s rich. You literally do everything better than me except math, and I still think about how you beat me in Spell Target last month.”
You blinked, stunned.
Ace grinned wider, leaning just a bit closer. “So... maybe I’ve got a little crush too. Don’t go writing me off like that next time, yeah?”
Ruggie Bucchi
Tumblr media
It was late afternoon, and the Savannaclaw lounge was mostly empty—except for you, perched on the steps outside, and Ruggie, balancing a tray of snacks with a practiced hand. You’d offered to help, but he’d waved you off with a grin.
“Relax, I got this.”
You smiled politely, folding your arms tighter. Not that he’d notice the way your chest fluttered when he smiled like that. That sly, sleepy-eyed grin that made your stomach dip every time.
Ruggie was… everything you weren’t. Fast-talking, adaptable, clever, confident in a way you never could be. He made jokes even when Leona was glaring daggers. He knew how to turn scraps into something useful. And you? You were just you.
No way he’d be interested in someone who wasn’t cool, cunning, or at least a little dangerous. He needed someone who could keep up with his sharp tongue and trickster nature. Not someone like you who blushed too easily and got tongue-tied every time he looked your way.
You fiddled with a loose thread on your sleeve, sighing. “He’s way out of my league,” you whispered to no one.
Unbeknownst to you, Ruggie was returning from the lounge, just in time to hear that.
He paused in his step, the grin faltering as the words sank in.
Out of your league? Him?
He tilted his head, watching you. You looked… soft. Tired. Not just from today, but maybe from carrying that weight in your chest. The kind he knew too well. Ruggie bit the inside of his cheek and walked over quietly, plopping down beside you without a word.
You looked up, startled. “Oh! You’re back.”
“Yeah.” He offered you one of the sweet pastries he’d snagged from the kitchen. “You looked like you needed somethin’ sweet.”
You took it, hesitating. “Thanks…”
The silence lingered a moment too long. Then Ruggie said casually, “You know, I heard what you said.”
You froze.
Ruggie turned his head to look at you, his smile smaller now, more sincere. “You think I’m outta your league?” He snorted. “That’s a laugh. You’re the only one around here who’s nice to me without expecting somethin’ in return.”
You stared, lips parting, but no words came out.
“I notice things, y’know,” he continued, voice lower now. “How you bring extra snacks just in case someone forgets lunch. How you patch people up after training. How you always wave to Grim like he’s the main character or somethin’.”
You smiled weakly. “He thinks he is.”
Ruggie chuckled. “You’ve got no idea how easy it is to like you, do ya?”
The air went still.
He leaned a bit closer, a mischievous spark lighting back up in his eyes. “So, what d’you say we make this official? You stop pretendin’ I don’t like you, and I stop stealin’ snacks to get your attention. Deal?”
You couldn’t speak. You just nodded—furiously.
And Ruggie, with a smug little grin, nudged your shoulder and whispered, “Knew you liked me, too.”
Azul Ashengrotto
Tumblr media
The lounge was closed for the night, lights dimmed, the usual chatter of customers replaced by the quiet shuffle of papers and the gentle clink of glass as Azul organized the bar. You sat alone at one of the side tables—he’d offered to let you hang out while he finished work, a kind gesture wrapped in professionalism. You didn’t question it. You were just happy to be near him.
Azul was perfect. Not in an untouchable way, but in the dangerously magnetic way. His intelligence, his poise, the calculating way his eyes always seemed to know more than he let on. He could make a deal with a king and still get the better end of it. He ran a whole business while juggling classes and contracts and never once looked like he was struggling.
Meanwhile, you were just… you. No cunning. No genius intellect. Just someone who barely passed alchemy and still got nervous speaking in front of people. Azul was miles above your league.
So, you admired him from afar. You listened carefully when he spoke in class, hung onto his every word when he got passionate about potion theory, and then pretended not to ache when he’d smile politely and move on without knowing how he affected you.
Tonight was no different.
You watched him from behind your drink, your heart fluttering as he adjusted his glasses, sleeves rolled to his elbows. You sighed under your breath, “He’s so beautiful. And way out of my league. Oh well. Back to daydreaming…”
Azul looked up.
He hadn’t meant to eavesdrop, but his mer ears were… sensitive. The words hit him harder than expected. You thought he was out of your league?
He swallowed hard, turning away quickly to hide the sudden redness in his cheeks. Was that a joke? Were you playing him? No, no—your voice had been too soft. Too sad.
He closed the ledger and made his way over to your table, rehearsing something casual to say. But he couldn’t do it. The usual charm slipped. He sat down across from you instead, unusually quiet.
“Everything alright?” you asked.
“Yes,” he said too quickly. Then, after a breath: “I overheard something just now.”
Your heart dropped.
“I didn’t mean to. But you said…” He paused, searching your face for any trace of irony. “You think I’m out of your league?”
You froze. Busted again. Why did the universe keep doing this to you?
Azul looked… uncertain. Vulnerable. His fingers tapped the edge of the table in a rare moment of nervous fidgeting. “You have no idea how intimidating you are to me.”
You blinked. “Me?!”
“Yes. You’re so—genuine. You smile without scheming. You care without a contract. That’s not something I’m used to.” His voice dropped, soft and serious. “And I’ve liked you for a while. But I didn’t think someone as… sincere as you could ever return that kind of feeling.”
Your chest clenched. “Azul, I… I do. I have. For a long time.”
He gave a breathless little laugh. “Then perhaps… a real date? No contracts, no business. Just us?”
You nodded, overwhelmed but glowing. And for once, Azul Ashengrotto looked flustered. Adorably so.
Jamil Viper
Tumblr media
The sun was setting over Scarabia, painting the desert sky in shades of gold and crimson. You sat at the balcony edge of the dorm’s main building, legs dangling, fingers absentmindedly picking at your sleeve as you watched the horizon burn.
Jamil was training below—moving with that smooth, graceful precision of someone who knew exactly what he was doing and exactly how much attention he was getting. But Jamil never asked for attention. He earned it quietly, consistently, and refused to let it change him.
You had it bad. So bad it was kind of pathetic.
He was calm, composed, mysterious in the way that made your heart race just a little. But also kind, thoughtful, and far too selfless for someone with his level of talent. You loved the way he took care of others, even when they didn’t realize he was doing it. You loved the way his eyes lit up when no one was watching and he actually let himself enjoy something.
And of course, you’d convinced yourself he’d never return the feeling.
You were ordinary. Not someone with elegance carved into every step. Not someone with a voice that could silence a room. You were nice, and dependable, but not the kind of person who got someone like Jamil Viper.
You sighed and murmured to yourself, “He’s so cool and so out of my league… but I love him anyway. Guess I’ll just keep dreaming.”
Unfortunately, your voice carried.
Jamil paused mid-step, hearing your words. The rhythm of his movements faltered for just a second. He glanced up, spotted you on the balcony, and blinked.
Your eyes met. Panic.
He jogged up the steps—not fast, but direct. Intentional.
You stood, heart racing. “J-Jamil, I didn’t know you—”
“I heard you,” he said, his voice even, but there was a flicker of emotion in his eyes you hadn’t seen before. “What you said.”
You turned crimson. “That was—I didn’t mean—well, I did, but not for you to—”
He held up a hand gently. “Can I be honest with you?”
You nodded, too stunned to speak.
“I’ve spent a long time trying not to like anyone,” he said slowly. “Because it’s easier. Because I don’t get to have things I want. People expect me to stay in the background, to be useful—not to be seen.”
Your breath hitched.
“But then you came along. You’re kind. You notice things most people overlook. You see me.” He looked away for a second, a rare flicker of vulnerability. “And I didn’t think I was allowed to want someone like you.”
You were stunned. “Jamil… I see you because I care. I’ve always cared.”
He looked at you again, softer now. “Then maybe we’ve both been idiots.”
You laughed shakily. “Definitely.”
Jamil stepped closer, a real smile pulling at his lips. “Then let’s stop pretending. I like you. And I’m not letting you drift away into daydreams anymore.”
Your heart soared. Maybe… just maybe… you were enough for him all along.
Idia Shroud
Tumblr media
The glow of the computer screen lit your face as you sat cross-legged on the floor of Ignihyde's rec room—aka Idia's fortress. You’d been invited to a co-op gaming session, not unusual since you’d proven yourself in battle simulators, strategy MMOs, and the occasional horror VR run.
But what was unusual… was that Idia had invited you.
You kept telling yourself it wasn’t a big deal. He was probably just being friendly. Maybe he appreciated that you didn’t make fun of his Otaku shrine or that time he totally short-circuited a project trying to install AI voice lines of a waifu into Ortho.
Still, every time he laughed softly at one of your dumb jokes, or his fingers brushed yours when you handed him a controller—you felt that dizzy, heart-thumping feeling in your chest. And you reminded yourself, for the millionth time:
“He’s brilliant. Cool in a mysterious, tech-wizard way. That anime hair glows. He’s basically a boss-level character. And me? I’m just a side quest.”
So you kept your feelings locked behind your own firewall and resigned yourself to the background.
Tonight was no different. After you won a particularly chaotic match, Idia leaned back in his chair, hoodie half-draped over his head, giving you one of those rare, sheepish smiles. “Y-you’re really good at this… I mean, I knew you were decent, but like… whoa. T-totally NPC-crushing it.”
You smiled, heart fluttering. “Guess I just like playing with you…”
He froze. Not visibly, not obviously—but if you’d been watching closely (and you always were), you’d notice the way his avatar just… idled.
You were about to awkwardly fill the silence when you heard it—his voice, quiet, uncertain. “You know, I always thought you were… like… out of my league.”
Your brain lagged.
“Wait—what?”
Idia pulled the hood further over his head, hair flickering in shades of anxious pink. “I mean, you’re normal. Like, good at talking to people, and helping Ortho with projects, and you actually listen when I go off on anime world-building lore instead of hitting skip like everyone else.”
Your jaw dropped a little. “But I thought I was just the sidekick here! I mean—you’re… you. I figured there was no way someone like you could like someone like me.”
He glanced up, eyes wide and glowing faintly. “No. You’re not ‘someone like’ anything. You’re just… you. And you’re kind of my favorite player two.”
Silence stretched.
And then he blurted, fast and fumbling, “So—uh, do you wanna maybe do a… real date co-op thing? Like a—non-digital questline?”
You beamed. “I’d love to.”
And somewhere in the corner, Ortho’s little scanner lit up green. “Successful confession: confirmed.”
Lilia Vanrouge
Tumblr media
The Diasomnia garden was especially quiet in the evening, the moonlight bathing the stone paths in silver as soft wind rustled the leaves. You often came here after a long day—it was peaceful, and you could just… think.
And of course, he was often there.
Lilia.
Sometimes humming an old lullaby. Sometimes practicing aerial flips. Sometimes just tending to the strange, glowing plants with that serene little smile. He was enigmatic, ageless, playful in a way that made your heart ache. He flirted with everyone, joked like he’d seen centuries of stories unfold—and maybe he had.
You were utterly, hopelessly, in love with him.
But you’d buried it. Because how could someone like Lilia Vanrouge—mysterious, powerful, ancient, and radiant—ever love someone like you?
“He’s basically immortal. I’m mortal, awkward, and sometimes trip over nothing. He’s been alive since kingdoms rose and fell. I’m just trying to pass my midterms without dying of stress. He probably sees me like a cute stray cat or something.”
So instead of confessing, you smiled, nodded when he teased you, and let the daydreams pile up where he couldn’t see.
Tonight, you didn’t notice him approach until he sat beside you, quiet and uncharacteristically gentle.
“Lost in thought, little one?”
You startled slightly, then laughed. “Yeah. Just… life stuff.”
“Hmm,” he hummed, gaze flicking over your face like he was reading something written across your skin. “You've been sighing a lot lately.”
You tried to deflect. “Guess I’ve just been thinking about someone.”
His eyes twinkled. “Ah… a crush, perhaps?”
You flushed. “Maybe.”
Lilia tilted his head, fangs barely visible behind his grin. “And what is this mysterious someone like?”
You bit your lip. “He’s… incredible. Playful but wise. Mysterious. Totally out of my league.”
That grin faded—just slightly. “Out of your league?”
You nodded, sighing. “Yeah. He’s someone who probably sees a million people every day and never notices someone like me. Which is fine. I’m just… daydreaming. That’s all.”
Lilia was silent for a beat. And then he did something you hadn’t expected.
He took your hand.
“You know,” he said quietly, “for someone who’s lived as long as I have… very few people surprise me anymore. But you? You always do. With your honesty, your kindness… and the way you look at me when you think I don’t notice.”
You froze.
“I do notice,” he added, voice lowering, soft as dusk. “And I would be a fool not to return the favor.”
You stared, eyes wide. “Wait… you—?”
“Yes.” He smiled, a touch bittersweet. “And I’ve been waiting for the right time to say it. But it seems we’ve both been sitting in our little corners of longing, haven’t we?”
You nodded, heart hammering.
He lifted your hand to his lips, pressing a featherlight kiss to your knuckles. “Well then… perhaps it’s time we step out of the daydream.”
