Constantine has found an, as the colloquial term would be, easy mark.
He's just found out that the High Prince of the Infinite Realms is a freshly dead fourteen year old. And like, yeah, sucks that the kid died, he feels for him.
But also; the kid has a problem that's ridiculously easy to solve.
The American Government is trying to declare war on the realm that holds all universes together, and Constantine knows a few people who can bring that to light and get that shit shut down real fucking quick.
So he goes to Amity Park, to the little Prince's haunt so he can pin him down, help him out for "free", and work out a deal to call the American Government off.
Except the kid just wants him to do his stitches. Because the American Government wasn't bluffing, and has developed weapons that can and will harm the fabric of reality.
John does the kids stitches. They aren't very good, but they're the best he can do.
He sticks around.
He patches the little Prince up.
He...he gets attached.
He watches the GIW actually hurt the kid, seriously, to the extent that he actively steps in and gets himself labeled a terrorist by taking them out.
Now he's got an angry Big Three on the line, demanding to know what is going on, and he's realizing that he's a little past tricking a deal out of a kid that has too much power.
It's personal.

DPXDC Prompt #141
Danny’s school held a contest where their students would have to write about a member of the Justice League that they admired. They framed it as a normal assignment and then mailed them to the hero. Danny didn’t think anything of his letter until he gets a few letters pop in front of him, apparently if you burn a letter for a ghost the recipient will get it. Danny thinks back to his own letter to Martian Manhunter and he remembers mentioning in his letter that not all ghosts were bad and he wishes they had the same rights as aliens did.
Of course the Justice League shows up to town and Danny is star struck as Martian Manhunter shows up to Danny’s doorstep to ask about his letter.

L sends Light letters in prison/whatever confinement center he's in. He doesn't get an answer. He figures Light isn't replying because of his hurt pride. And after months, maybe an year, L gathers the courage to go and visit Light in person.
Turns out, Light's been dead a few days into his sentence. Maybe someone killed him, maybe it was a heart attack, maybe Light killed himself. He never got any of L's letters.
And no one told L.

Danny would like to say he didn’t see the signs.
The canceled dates, the odd times coming back to the apartment in ruffled clothes, the way they would always avoid certain topics like nightlife.
The bruises.
God, Danny knew something was up for a long time.
It kept him up more times than he could count wondering how he could bring up such a topic.
Here he had it, right in his hands.
The final nail in the form of a leather jacket and a red helmet.
Danny glanced back at the duffle bag he had pulled from under their bed.
He couldn’t keep dancing around this topic, not when the truth was looking him back with soulless white lenses.
He had to talk to Jason.
His Jason,
His sweet, dorky book loving Jason.
The man he literally fell for during their first meeting.
The man who looked at him like he was made of poetry, the man he has supported for years.
He had to confront the man he loves… about the affair he’s having with his boss, the Red Hood.

Psst there’s a part two to this prompt

Coffee shop AU where Nancy keeps getting love letters written on napkins and can’t figure out who it is. She thinks it’s maybe Jonathan because he’s artsy and probably good with his words, or Steve who’s getting Eddie to write them but neither really make sense. Robin helps her try and sleuth out the admirer but they keep hitting dead ends because Robin is deliberately sabotaging the hunt. She doesn’t want Nancy to figure out she’s the one writing the letters because she’s much better at talking on paper and doesn’t want to ruin the friendship they’ve just barely started

Hi! May I ask for some jealousy/argument/fighting prompts? ty!
hello<3 (sorry this took so long!)
angst argument, prompts⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚
@celestialwrites for more.
☆ you found their letters...
☆ fighting with them was like a screaming match, you would yell at each other until you could barely speak.
☆ coming home you expected flowers, not them in your room.
☆ they betrayed the one thing you truly cherished. your trust.
☆ you pulled, they pushed, it would never work.
☆ their actions were clearer than words, they didn’t want you.
☆ fucked up. that’s what it was, fucked up, and you didn’t have the strength to in-fuck it. you were just so tired.
☆ they locked the bedroom door and didn’t come out until they had their packed bag.
☆ tears are no good, why waste them when they were never truly worth it? or were they?
☆ loving you was a losing game.
☆ you wanted to fight for each other, they wouldn’t.
☆ at the end of the day, it’s your fault. as you sunk to the cold floor of the bathroom you began to realize that.
☆ you didn’t need kisses or to make up what had been destroyed, you needed a hug.
☆ you could smell the perfume/cologne on them and you stilled in shock.
☆ you were so sick of the fights and the jealousy.
☆ they were in love with a version of you that no longer existed, if only they could see that.

I think spn fic writers are sleeping on writing time travel fics to the 40s-50s when American Men of Letters were still alive, and exploring Sam and Dean's relationship with Henry, and even meeting Henry's father, and MOL being shocked by the future and by the boys' behavior like Henry was when he traveled to the future, and Sam and Dean hating MOL because of their strict hierarchy and like restricted access to the knowledge depending on your rank, which will INFURIATE Sam... So many unexplored possibilities... Someone write a fic I'm beggin'

DPXDC Prompt #88
Danny and Damian are twins but they get separated at age 7, years later when they’re both 14 they both are going to high school and their schools decide to create a program where they wind up as pen pals to each other unknowing that they’re talking too each other as it’s been set up to be anonymous. Danny decides to take a leap of faith and encrypts a message about the media blackout around his town and how they’re overrun with ghosts and could use the Justice Leagues help through out all of his letters knowing that very few could actually understand it but he just felt so tired and this was the only way he could think to get any help for his town.
Damian just wonders who exactly his pen pal is to encrypt these letters like this.

I want to kiss you.. Not a quick easily forgotten act
I want to leave my mark on your lips, sear our union for eternity, leave you breathless, the first gasp of air filling your aching lungs is the scent from my skin.
I want to transport you to another dimension, all surrounding stimulus fading away, just you, me and where your mind takes you.
I want to render your defenses inactive, relish is the reddening flush erupting across the surface of your flesh, heart pounding so fiercely I can hear your ribs rattle, hands feverishly clutching at my body, subconsciously exploring and holding tight.
I want a kiss...

Ahah fun idea here, tie your Whumpee to a fence post or something indirect sunlight. Make sure it’s a really hot, bright day outside. Cut away their shirt, make sure they’re tied to the fence face-first so their back gets the worst of the burns.
Bring them inside when the sun starts to set, then have your Whumper whip them with a belt.

Hi! I am an ardent fan of your writing, and I hope to be as sorted and planned as you some day in my own writing journey.
My question is: you have a keen eye when it comes to planning character personality, dynamics, and such. I've also been wading through your ask replies, and your insights into how you write people and how you make them play off of each other is so wonderful to read. If it's not too personal a q, how did you learn how to write like this? Did you go to school for writing, does it come from years of observing people, do you have reading list recs for "how to write real people and real interactions"?
Thanks! This is a really flattering question. I'll try to answer it honestly, because I wish someone had been brutally honest about this with me when I was a young writer.
I didn't go to school for writing. I started doing it when I was about nine years old. It sucked very badly. I kept writing throughout high school, and it still mostly sucked, but some of it was occasionally interesting. ("Interesting" here does not mean "good," by the way.) I took a break in college, and then came back. I've been writing ever since. Sometimes, I feel good about it. A lot of the time, I don't!
I hate giving this advice, because I remember how it feels to get it, and it's the most uninspiring, boring-ass, dog shit advice you can get, but it's also the only advice that is 100% unequivocally true: you have to write, and specifically, you have to write things that suck.
I do not mean that you should make things that suck on purpose. I mean that you have to sit down and try your absolute hardest to make something good. You have to put in the hours, the elbow grease, the blood, sweat, and tears, and then you have to read it over and accept that it just totally sucks. There is no way around this, and you should be wary of people who tell you there is. There is no trick, no rule, no book you can buy or article you can read, that will make your writing not suck. The best someone else can do is tell you what good writing looks like, and chances are, you knew that anyway — after all, you love to read. You wouldn't be trying to do this if you didn't. And anyone who says they can teach you to write so good it doesn't suck at first is either lying to you, or they have forgotten how they learned to write in the first place.
So the trick is to sit there in the miserable doldrums of Suck, write a ton, and learn to like it. Because this is the phase of your path as an artist when you find what it is you love about writing, and it cannot be the chance to make "good writing." This will be the thing that bears you through and compels you to keep going when your writing is shit, i.e., the very thing that makes you a writer in the first place. So find that, and you've got a good start.
Some people know this, but assume that perseverance as a writer is about trying to get to the point where you don't suck anymore. This is not true, and it is an actively dangerous lie to tell young writers. You are not aiming to feel like your writing doesn't suck. You are aiming to write. You are aiming to have written. Everything else is dust and rust. And of course, you'll find things you like about your pieces, you'll find things you're proud of, you'll learn to love the things you've made. But that little itch of self-criticism, in the back of your brain — the one that cringes when you read a clunky line, or thinks of a better character beat right after it's far too late to change — that's never going away. That's the Writer part of you. Read Kafka, read Dickens, read Tolstoy, you will find diary entries where they lament how absolutely fucking atrocious their writing was, and how angry they are that they can't do better. A good writer hates their sentences because they can always imagine better ones. And the ability to imagine a better sentence is what's going to make you pick up the pen again tomorrow. And the day after that. And the day after that.
Which is what I mean, and probably what all those other annoying, preachy advice-givers mean, when we say: a good writer is just someone who writes every day. It's that easy, and that hard.
