If we're to make an AU centered around this... Maybe more blot occurs from a magic user's obsession?

Blot itself is already tied to emotional connections if not artificially started.

So... Maybe characters overblotting due to their obsession starts due to being given something?

For example, love potions or some sort of magic enhancement that has severe side effects?

I like to imagine maybe this infection started because Idia was researching blot.

His curse naturally makes him burn off blot... yet maybe while testing some or trying a new enhancement, he starts to act weird.

Idia doesn't interact with people much.

The only people close to him are Ortho... and you.

In this AU, you and Idia are in an established relationship.

He doesn't have many friends due to his job and antisocial nature.

Yet you still managed to connect with him, perhaps another soul similar to him in interests and nature?

Idia didn't think he'd fall for anyone that isn't fictional.

But he somehow managed to score you, someone he can't help but feel giddy around.

Maybe you're the prefect sent from another world?

You have no idea when you'll be getting home... So you decided to befriend Idia in a club.

Then said meetings eventually became hang outs...

Then Idia found himself catching feelings.

He was no doubt a mess when confessing, too.

He knows he probably shouldn't fall for someone from another world... but it's right out of an isekai plot and he can't help it...!

You're so cute too... He just had to make a move before anyone else did...!

Even if Idia knew a relationship with you wouldn't last long, it's the best thing that's ever happened to him.

You bring him out to places other than clubs at school, you make him come out of his shell...

He even often invites you to Ignihyde just so he can have your attention.

Something tells me Idia enjoys private cuddles with you while gaming or watching something.

You never judge him... and that's only one of the reasons he adores you.

So, honestly, your relationship starts mutual.

You and Idia love each other, Idia even using his tech to watch your every move and help with the recent overblotting situation.

Yet he never thought he could overblot with his curse.

It burns too fast in his system, if anything it should just power him.

However... What if Idia was researching blot to find better ways to help you defend yourself against it....

He knows you aren't as affected by it as magic users, but the miasma and strength of phantoms can still harm you.

Last thing Idia wants is you being harmed.

So, in secret, Idia starts finding ways to benefit you due to the recent Overblot issues.

At first it's mostly easy since he's connected to S.T.Y.X.

Yet maybe for this AU... Things start going wrong.

While researching one of the Overblot stones Grim is so fond of to try and weaponize blot, Idia ends up catching something.

It's... a different sort of blot than the others, maybe?

Even the stone has a strange pink tint when he collects it before Grim gobbles it.

Idia doesn't notice the effects at first.

Sure, he's a bit lethargic... but that could just be his sleep schedule.

Plus... All symptoms seem to go away when he's with you.

Idia's not worried, if blot is truly the issue then his curse should take care of it.

Yet... That doesn't seem to be the issue completely.

Idia's symptoms get worse the longer he's away from you.

It's akin to a lovesickness... Making Idia miss you more and more.

It starts as yearning, a more intense feeling than what he's used to.

Idia often watches your every move through his tech... trying his hardest to distract himself with his games.

Yet he keeps trying to experiment with that strange Overblot stone... and he can't get you out of his head.

He suddenly becomes more clingy too.

Idia is normally never seen out of his dorm until you visit him or go to clubs.

When you try to go to class, Idia slips in to sit by you.

Your boyfriend barely uses the tablet at times, just leaning against you like a lovesick puppy.

If you look closely, his golden eyes swirl a certain darkness in them... but you can mistake it for something else.

A trick of the mind, maybe....

During lunch Idia cuddles against you, whining about just heading back to his dorm.

Perhaps he even attempts PDA due to the needy nature he's developing, kissing your neck gently as he begs for your attention.

You can barely go to Ramshackle with how intense Idia becomes.

You're always dragged to Ignihyde, Idia pushing you on his bed and cuddling up to you.

Ortho is no doubt going to notice something is up, yet even he struggles to comprehend it.

His brother has a strangely high amount of blot accumulation in his system... Yet that shouldn't be the case?

The curse should burn it away... yet this blot clings to his system, maybe even around his heart.

Idia's behavior is far from normal for a boyfriend.

You can barely pry him off you nowadays, the man clinging to you and kissing you as he whispers about needing you.

Later, violence develops.

Suddenly Ace, Deuce, and even Grim are threats.

Soon other dorm leaders are trying to steal you.

To Idia, everyone becomes an enemy but you.

Ortho tries to help diagnose Idia running scans and tests, maybe even suggesting Idia get himself checked at S.T.Y.X.

Idia, however, despises the idea of leaving you at NRC.

Is he an idiot or something? Letting others run off with you?

No, to Idia, the perfect love story would involve locking you away with him.

If he goes to S.T.Y.X... You'll be coming with him.

Which means, no one else will get to have you.

Surely Ortho will understand his older brother's plight?

Honestly, when you refuse to go with him to S.T.Y.X or someone pushes things too far by doing something as simple as asking to hang out...

Idia may just Overblot.

It's... Almost unlike his Overblot in Book 6.

To make it different for this new AU, the nlot that comes from him holds a pinkish color mixed with the black.

It's an Overblot made from negative emotions still... but this time it's obsession or jealousy.

Idia has a vague sense of awareness.

All he really cares about is finding you and preventing others from having you.

He burns hot, his curse finally feeding off the blot he's creating.

The miasma that soaks the air contains the same weird tint... maybe it even has a sickly sweet smell.

It makes everyone around him tired... Yet it's just as toxic as other Overblots.

Idia isn't going to calm down until he finds you.

Even then, he won't be knocked out of his Overblot until someone forces him... or his curse finally burns it all.

In the meantime... There's a good chance Idia might accidentally poison his partner due to his Overblot.

He's aware this is wrong... but can't seem to control it.

This isn't a normal Overblot... It's something different.

It... almost feels tamed once he has you in his sights.

I can see Idia trapping you against his overheating body, growling through his mask as he fully intends to level NRC if they get too close.

The phantom he creates probably still resembles Ortho or Hades... but that's up to you.

Either way, It's going to take some strong magic to soothe him... Even then, a cure is still needed.

You heard that right... I feel Idia would be able to be cleansed of his blot... but would still need a cure.

This love sickness still clings to him... Without purification, he'll just Overblot again.

Idia ends up being dragged off to S.T.Y.X... Probably due to his parents' order.

After all... The Shroud Family isn't supposed to Overblot.

This... is strange.

You yourself are probably taken in because it's assumed you were the cause.

You're researching the traces of blot on you collected and studied.

If they're lucky... They'll take the odd stone with you to lock away and study.

Meanwhile, you and Idia are kept away from one another.

Idia keeps crying out, begging to see you.

He claims this is betrayal, that he'll figure something out!

No one lets him out of his cell....

This leads Idia stew in his bitter obsession... Practically growling like an animal.

If not properly vented or purified... He could overblot again.

Part of Idia yearns for it... It felt surprisingly pleasurable.

Plus... if he Overblots again... Then he can take you back.

Not even S.T.Y.X will hold him back forever...

So hopefully a cure is made soon for the sake of both of you.

I wasn't sure if this anon meant the Phantom designs or the OB designs themselves when they said "overblot monsters", so I decided to go ahead and drop my opinions on both things. (And if you want my opinion on the non-OB boys and non-OB boys' Phantoms... they're okay? I have no particular commentary to impart on those.)

My personal Phantoms ranking:

My favorite Phantom design is, hands down, Idia’s. I love how it is composed of shapes that closely resemble the style of the Hercules film, notably the arms and fingers. The collar and head resemble a flaring flame while the wrists seem to resemble Greek columns. But the detail I love the most is how the Phantom's arms and body seem to be made of other Phantoms' busted heads. It's really clever visual storytelling, as this tells us about how Ortho lived in Tartarus with the other Phantoms, how he wants them all to be 'friends' with Idia and the rest of the world, etc. This Phantom in of itself just has so much story significance and even seems to be alluded that the multitude of Phantoms in Tartarus yoink Idia (seen at the end of the Ignihyde CM). This Phantom also has a special physical connection to the OB boy in its design; Idia it literally hooked up to his Phantom with wires, symbolizing his close connection to it. (I didn't see something similar in the other Phantoms, but I do know in the light novel Leona is said to be attached to his Phantom by a blot chain on his ankle.)

I find the designs of Riddle, Azul, and Jamil’s Phantoms cool. They resemble their Disney inspirations, but have one or two flairs that make the designs their own. Riddle's Phantom has spade-shaped spikes protruding from its back and wields a rose tree like a hammer to deliver twisted justice. Azul's Phantom has a crown and trident, which is reminiscent of Ursula once she has robbed them from King Triton. It also has a collar that looks like coral branches jutting out and I enjoy how the ink looks like it is dripping down and forming the tentacles. Finally, Jamil's Phantom is inspired by Jafar's genie form on the torso but its lower half becomes coiled, patterned, and snake-like (like the viper form Jafar takes on when fighting Aladdin). It also has a collar unique to it.

I'm slightly disappointed with the Phantoms of Leona, Vil, and Malleus. These literally just look like the original Disney villains that they are trying to emulate, but with very few changes made to them outside of the stitches and the shape of the glass bottle heads. I do like that Vil's Phantom is the hag version of the Evil Queen (which demonstrates her inner ugliness) and how Malleus's phantom is Maleficent's dragon form (which is just cooler overall) with more exaggerated spines, but this doesn't change the fact that the designs aren't that special.

My personal OB design ranking:

I think Leona and Idia’s designs look cool for the most part.

Pretty much the only thing I dislike about Leona’s is the bare feet, which are easily ignored since the game usually only shows us the torso up. Everything else is gucci o3o)bb Slicked back hair, check! Corset that calls attention to his Dorito chip shaped-body, check! The jewelry and extra stuff tied around his waist isn't too cluttered or in the way and coordinates well color-wise. Ah, also... AND I KNOW NONW OF YOU PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE ME BUT I FEEL LIKE I AHVE TO STATE THIS FOR MY OWN SANITY. I didn't realize he was shirtless for a long ass time 😭 I JUST THOGUHT THAT MANE WAS A FLUFFY SHIRT OR CROP TOP OR SOMETHING... I know the truth now, and (at the cost of sounding like Rollo) I'm thankful that the mane exists to cover up Leona's bare chest because I do NOT wanna see that out and about.

Idia has the most "different" vibes to his design, and I have to commend him for that. He looks like some futuristic gremlin come to destroy us all, especially when his electronic mask thing simulates new expressions for him. It's neat how the new armor he's equipped with sharpens his features so he, like his Phantom, more closely resembles the art style of Hercules, and there's just enough blue to balance out the black (and same with the orange-red when he gets mad). My favorite part of OB Idia has to be the lower half; it forms a cool vortex that makes me think of the lost souls swirling around in Tartarus.

I like Riddle’s well enough, but I think it’s less of me actually enjoying the look altogether and more of me having nostalgia for it + liking the Alice in Wonderland details in it. I love the ink webbing (especially in the face and its accessories), the gradient flowers decorating his hips, and the cards spilling out. However, I will admit that the design is very busy and chaotic for the head and the lower half (and maybe that was intentional), so it's hard for my eyes to know what to focus on whenever I see OB Riddle.

Azul, Vil, and Malleus are trying but look sort of awkward in several areas:

I like the shoulders and face for Azul, but below that is all downhill; I've never been a fan of his merform, and that really comes through here. The bottom half just looks kinda unadorned (which makes sense; clothing would limit his mobility). Still... it makes most of him look really uninteresting. Not only that, but his tentacles look wrong (though this is an issue with his general merform and not specifically the OB). They're way too short and the shape and size of them makes me think of inflatable mascots outside of used car dealerships.

I appreciate that Vil's OB design gives the vibes of him wandering into an abandoned castle and fastening together an outfit from a tattered curtain, but the end result is... lacking. The halo crown looks super heavy and impractical, the chest looks sort of bland compared to everything else, the waist has these really out of place protruding... spike... things???? And then there's the slapped-on looking peacock feathers on his legs and the odd feathers to blot textured cloak.

I like all the briar incorporated into Malleus’s OB even if the details are drowned out by the excessive black, but I’m not a fan of the neon green on his horns and tail. Malleus’s most focal points—his face and chest—also look kinda weird to me?? Normally I like slicked back hair, but it looks odd and almost balding on this character. The green/green-grey color of his skin is also unflattering and makes him look like a moldy cabbage.

Jamil and Grim (?) are very confused and unappealing.

In all honesty, the individual pieces of the outfit are okay?? I like the gold accessories + how the veil the skirt flares out. The recurring diamond patterns are are an interesting way to incorporate “scales” without having actual snakeskin. The literal snake hair has potential to be cute, but I hate Hate HATE how it’s styled as a turban (poor sentient hair snakes are probably all twisted up) and the little ink goatee 💀 Combined with everything else, he is way too over-designed no matter where you look. At least everyone else has their detailed elements better spread out… I think it might have looked better if it had like 1-2 less detailed elements and eradicate the goatee.

Grim (?) is a random mishmash of traits from the other OB boys. And it looks bad (even if the point is for nothing in the design to go together well). The worst part is the humanish front legs. No further comment.

Levi narrows his eyes as he scrubs the rough bar of soap between his palms. The scummy bubbles at the bottom of the bucket are tinged a pale, visceral pink in the fading twilight.

He swallows down bile at the sight of it, disgusted by the way the gore clings to him, burrowed into the lines on his hands and the beds of his nails.

It’s filthy. There’s no running water in a camp this far outside the walls, so he fills and refills the bucket whenever it gets too murky for him to stand. He feels briefly guilty for the waste of so much clean water before disgust blots it out.

Finally, the droplets from his scoured hands run clear. The tightness in his chest loosens, just barely. Enough to take a full breath. His hands burn from the shitty ration soap, but it’s better than leaving them unclean.

Levi staggers into his tent and pulls the cloth flap tightly shut. There, in the privacy of darkness, he permits himself to collapse. He digs his nails into his forearm to keep from crying.

He still feels tainted. He smells a phantom stench of the battlefield rising from his hair, his clothes, even though he’s cleaned them. He can still feel the stomach-churning steam of fallen Titans against his face.

He wants to soak himself in scalding water, wants to slough off layers of himself until he reaches something that has never been stained with blood. But Levi is no longer sure that there is anything left within him that isn’t contaminated, if there ever even was.

After all, he’s seen enough of his comrades ripped apart, enough of his friends turned into unrecognizable meat. There’s nothing sacred hiding underneath their skin. Why would he be any different?

Levi spreads out his bedroll carefully, making sure that the interior doesn’t touch the ground. He always packs and unpacks it the same way, so one half remains pristine. It gives him a little comfort.

He mechanically lights a lantern, running on routine. He rifles through his pack and comes up with your picture. You had asked Jean to make a sketch of you, and Levi begrudgingly admitted that it was a very good likeness. He’s taken it with him on every mission since you gave it to him.

With your picture beside his pillow, Levi relaxes another fraction. He’s survived today, and more importantly, so did his squad. He tries to focus on that and not the sting of his hands, scrubbed raw.

As he moves to dim the lantern, his eyes catch on a flash of metal in his pack. Metal that shouldn’t be there. Levi swears under his breath as he lifts out the unfamiliar object, preparing for anything.

Almost anything, that is. He doesn’t expect a tiny metal tin, certainly doesn’t expect the paper covered in your handwriting folded around it. He unwraps it carefully and holds it up to the light.

I wish I could be there with you. Know that you never leave my thoughts. And because I have the privilege of knowing you well, I fear that you are suffering more than you admit.

The words blur with tears before he reaches the end, but Levi doesn’t let them fall. At least, not until he opens the tin and sees that it is full of lotion, not the tallow you rub into his skin when it cracks and bleeds on bad days, but real lotion from the pompous merchants in the inner walls.

It’s a ridiculous luxury, made more ridiculous by its place here in the wilderness, in a soldier’s tent. But it smells like you, and though he can hardly bear to disturb the pristine surface, it feels like heaven as he hesitantly smears it across his hand.

It soothes the pain instantly. You must have known it would. That’s what makes him cry at last- the burden and the blessing of being known, being loved all the more for the knowing.

He uses an entire precious layer of the lotion on his hands then extinguishes the lantern and curls onto his blanket. He holds his hands over his face and breathes you in, allowing peace to settle warily on his aching chest.

There is much we do not know about Grim, and just as much that he does not know about himself!

Grim says that he does not remember his family and he doesn't seem to know where he came from or how it is that he arrived at NRC, reacting with surprise at how remote the island is, which asks how he got there (and from where).

He is also constantly surprising the other characters with how little he knows about Twisted Wonderland itself, being unfamiliar with basic information like major holidays, major historical figures, popular sports, blot, many foods, and even the Great Seven.

Lilia: "How could someone in this world have truly never heard of Halloween?"

Grim remembers wearing his ribbon and being called "Grim the digger" back home, but there have been no clues about what that "home" is or was.

“I remember wakin’ up hungry and alone. It was real cold. I was waitin’ out there for someone to come get me for ages. What happened after that again? It’s all so foggy…”

Grim also remembers being hungry, cold and alone, and we have heard about creatures who are hungry, cold and alone before--Tartarus' phantoms 👀

Other curiosities are: 1. STYX is unable to fully analyze Grim because of a curse/blessing he is under 2. STYX is fairly certain he is a direbeast combined with another, unknown animal 3. There are creatures known to disguise themselves as direbeasts to escape detection: phantoms 👀

Idia explains that Grim's blot accumulation is impossible for STYX to determine:

"Grim's numbers go haywire every time I try to get a precise blot accumulation reading. One moment they spike into the red zone....like a subject that's gone full Phantom."

And there is at least one theory that ties in to how we technically do not know how it is that original-Ortho died: he was killed by an escapee from Tartarus, but Idia says that, when he woke up, "Ortho was gone."

And at least one of the phantoms we see wake up Tartarus demands to be fed flesh. Was original-Ortho eaten by a phantom? And was that phantom Grim?

We do not know 🐱

As for Disney connections, the same theory above guesses that Grim was possibly based on Dinah from Alice in Wonderland, with the escaped phantom that killed Ortho potentially being from the Alice-in-Wonderland-inspired Queendom of Roses.

And then the oft-repeated theory that Grim in his phantom form, confronting the characters in a destroyed Mirror Chamber, was one of the first things the game showed us 👀

But still all conjecture at this time!

You ended up in STYX because of an accident, you found a strange creature that looked completely inofensive, while trying to find out what was that the creature quickly took over you trying to possess you, in reality this was a highly dangerous creature made by pure negative energy and now was trying to take over your body to have a body to room around, so when STYX found out you were taken to the quartes to be treated and try to avoid any kind of dangerous outcome, after all the creature's power and energy could it be too much for your body to handle

After being treated the creature was being able to be sealed but since it managed to get attached to you for how the slow reaction of STYX was, ending on this creature being now attached to your tail (winning the nickname of Mr Tail by you in the process), since it was made of pure negative energy you had to stay under observaron to make sure it won't end up causing any alteration in your blot

You were treated as a subject of research so Idia was informed about it until after a while, once they knew you were estable enough (and he was told about it because he would take care of STYX one day), but no matter how surprising it was he was quite hesitant to get closer to you, you were around his age or maybe his little brother's age, but he just didn't knew how to approach you, so at the end it was until he told Ortho about you that both decided to try to get close to you

They found a way to get close to you and befriend you without being stopped by the researchers of STYX and despite the initial hesitantion you three quickly became good friends! Ortho was so excited to finally have a friend and was always talking about how amazing his brother is and how much he wanted for you to join while they were playing videogames, Idia was quite hesitant but he just couldn't say not to him so he tried his best

Idia and Ortho soon tried found excuses to let you get out of your room to spend more time with them, after all you were incredibly easy to scare and this place was the scariest place int he world, they really wanted to help you feel more comfortable and after the sneaky visits you grew comfortable enough to talk more with them, they have even got to met Mr Tail, and since he talked to them both brothers could assure that it wasn't a threat anymore, still you had to stay most of the time under observation and the tests so you couldn't spend as much time as you wanted with them

At the end, having you around was another reason to want to go in adventures, you clearly didn't liked at all STYX quarters, it was way too scary (specially knowing that there were phantoms in the island), maybe they could be heroes for you too and take you somewhere you could be more comfortable! So they put their plan in action, after hacking the system Idia was busy trying to find a way to get you and then get out of the island without being discovered when the alarms started and the accident happened

After that day the director of STYX knew they should strengthen the security and since Idia was too busy trying to built the android that could replace Ortho he ended up trying to come up with any other functional plan, deciding that maybe you could be of help along with creating the new security system, of course you weren't the first option after all you were here just because you suffered from an unfortunate accident but the thing attached to you had a great power and if you manage to get control over it you would be accepted as employee in STYX, being one of the only few mages that worked here, you didn't wanted to, it was too scary (as much as Mr Tail called you a coward that didn't make it less scary) but you accepted at the end, for Idia and Ortho, to prevent something like that to happen ever again

Even when you quickly regretted you decision since now you were working in one of the scariest places in the world as part of the security you still tried your best, and while Idia was insolated in his room you tried to become more brave and stronge, you wanted to be able to help him like he have helped you when you were to scared of this place

When he finally came out of his room you were the only one to support him over Ortho, maybe you didn't understood why he would do that but he was still your friend, so you stuck at his side, it took some time for you to go back to be the good friends you were before the accident but it happened, you two understood each others too well, prefering to stay in the safety of your rooms and understanding better than anyone else what was to lost Ortho back then, so you two quickly become family

And not only in that but now you two were stuck working in STYX, something that non of you really wanted but couldn't avoid it, even if he felt bad for not being able to be normal at least he wasn't alone in this, and even when he felt incredibly bad for being happy of having you in the same position as him Idia just couldn't help himself, so to make it up for it he took it in himself to help you feel more comfortable and happy here

Idia grow incredibly comfortable at your side over the years, being able to be his normal self at your side while also being always there for you when you needed him, as well as Ortho, after all the android was slowly improving over time and he recognized you as your childhood friend and family too! Idia even asked Ortho to look after you whenever you needed it, when he was busy with his work or whenever you were exhausted from yours (specially when you had to go in misions out of STYX quarters)

Even if you two have spend your entire lifes together he still find himself surprised by Mr Tail, as time passed this creature have grow more comfortable to present himself more often, but whenever he did normally was just to say not so kind things about you two and how coward you two were, he didn't liked him much but it wasn't like he could get away from him, after all he was attached to you (and you assure him that, despite his words he didn't meant to be mean, wich wasn't a lie but Mr Tail will never admit it)

Once he got accepted in Night Raven Collage he was a bit nervous, even if Ortho was accepted to be with him even during classes this would be the first time you two separate for so long (after all, if you had to go missions those never lasted too long), it would be better and even a bit comforting if you were accepted in the school too (wich is more likely to happen), still there is the posibility that you enter school with a year or two of diference, and if that happens he will be considerably sad but will make sure to be ready to help you get used in school when is your time to come, making sure Ortho help you get used to the campus

As his childhood friend he will hold you incredibly close to his heart, he would feel shy to say it but still he will find a moment to tell you how for him you are his family, and he wants to assure that you are happy and safe, as long as you two are stuck in this together he will make sure you can always count on him, he will make sure to don't make a mistaken as big or tragic as the last time, he won't lose you too

riddle does not understand how on earth were you able to stay in the school and always hold yourself with such grace, he couldn't explain why your presence seems to be similar to vil like you were oozing of calm vibes

you were the total opposites - he is more accustomed to fire while you specialize in water magic*. he lose his rationality quickly while he had never see you even falter during the time you two were classmates + he always abides by the rules while you do what ever you want 

"you are not allowed to sleep in class!" "it's not sleeping, i am just resting my eyes..." "you must not pick flowers from the garden on wednesdays." "riddle, i am not under the queen of hearts rules."

and riddle actually holds a one sided grudge against you for that + makes it his mission always to remind you of the rules, going on about mini rants to which you nodded to while reading your books

typically, riddle would've mention something about the rule of the queen of hearts but he was strangely quiet. you see him looking down at his notebook, lost in his world. and that surprised you because never you would've thought you would know this side of him. "no rule trivia for today?" "...huh?" "there is something on your mind, no? why don't we talk about that instead our usual trivias."

as time passed by, you and riddle gradually close friends to the point that heartslabyul treats you like their saving grace whenever riddle goes on a rampage, even more when you became second years

when the first overblot happened, it was the first time he saw your face, usually so calm, crumbled like dust when the blot manifested into a large phantom

"hahaha! the law in this world is me! not even you, (name), can stop me!" "i'm not letting you go so easily, riddle. rules are meant to protect your people, but you don't realize you are using them to suffocate them. you even hurt my dorm mates, enough of this!"

riddle was sure you wouldn't speak to him again because you weren't there the moment he woke up. he tried asking trey and cater if you were avoiding him, but they could not answer him. the next few days, he didn't even get to talk to you.

then he found himself admiring nrc at night time, breaking his own rules, maybe it's okay to let is slide for now. as he needs some time to think

absentmindedly wandering around the school grounds, letting the cool breeze feel his skin, riddle had his hand brushing through the thick bushes until they got pricked by a stray thorn "ah-" he hissed, holding up his pricked finger. it was just a tiny injury that's nothing to worry about. the injury was nothing compared to what he saw next "riddle? what are you doing this here at this hour?"

riddle spotted you sitting under the tree where silver usually takes his naps, surrounded by bunnies as they piled around your lap.

after days of not seeing each other, riddle thought he was going crazy because the last time he saw you, he knew pretty sure that your eyes and hair do not have that silver glow - it was like you were the moon itself

"is it my fault that your eyes and hair changed?" "oh, this is awkward... " you look at the bunnies trying to hide behind you, being scared of riddle's sudden appearance, contemplating about something before sighing in defeat. "i think i owe you an explanation. but first, can you keep a secret?" this confused riddle very much. what do you mean explanation? did something happen while he was out? before he could even think of it, you were already in front of him - your point and middle finger placed on his forehead. 'the moon has come out to play, now bid your worries away.' a comfortable feeling of cold wrapped around riddle's body, feeling the fatigue from his overblotting disappear, the weight on his shoulder being gone and his pricked finger healed. while riddle stared at you in shock, you finally reveal your true appearance and float around him like a curious child. "would you believe me if i told you i am the descendant of the moon goddess?"

... oh. OH !!

prepare for him because this little goldfish right here is most likely a fan of reading books about your kind + cue the sparkling eyes

and oh my god are those butterflies he can feel in his stomach? or maybe he is just hungry but he only feel that way around you though. oh well !!

leona knew that there is something like a cloak of mysteriousness around you the moment you appeared in the college mid-year as a transfer student from rsa

just you don't interfere with his plans and he will also stay out of yours but it turns out he was assigned by the crow to take you around

"... wow, do i look like a punishment worthy chore?" you sigh, shaking your head in disappointment before turning to leona and he could swear he could see your eyes glowing for a moment when you stare at him. "i take it that the dorm leader of savannaclaw will be my tour guide?" "just don't lag behind." giving you a shrug before he started walking ahead of you. despite his short descriptions and tour around the school, leona is thankful that you didn't seem to be a nosy type of person, just a little on the calm and reserve type than most people he knew.

doesn't understand how people seems to look starstruck whenever you walk by them i mean you are attractive yes but not being able to move? that's different

it also turns out you share most of your classes! maybe crowley was really punishing him for the incident as he was stuck with you, being your babysitter.

but you almost look like his babysitter + quickly became one of the most tolerable people in the school and he doesn't mind having you around

you were not the nagging type - letting him hide and snooze off behind you during class and surprisingly, you were fun to spar with during practical exams + too smart for your own good

he had never seen any kind of fighting similar to yours like your fighting style is only yours to begin with - not only you excel in defending, you never seem to get tired despite being a speedy defender.

you and the savanaclaw dorm leader spent the whole afternoon sparring with each other and by the time you notice it, the sun was already setting. "aren't you tired yet, leona?" "you better tell me how you manage to keep up with me all this time." you did say to keep up with you the first time we met." you twirl your spear around you before stabbing it on the ground, leaning on it and grinned at leona. "i'm just keeping my promise."

now leona was pretty sure you are not a normal transfer student + especially after fighting with you in the island of woe and it was pretty interesting how you unexpectedly exposed yourself in front him and jamil.

the moment you, who was assigned to be in the front of the group due to you having the most capable defensive powers, entered the room on the current sector, leona and jamil look at your back in surprise. "(name)-senpai?" "what's up, jamil?" "... is that a normal thing for you?" the room was oozing with the presence of phantoms everywhere and there was no source of light - aside from your hair locks that are now shining like a billowing night sky of twinkling stardust, borne in a void of black and fading in an indigo moonset "oh that's normal, we can just use it as source of light. save your magic for now." "no wonder your magic feels different from everyone else - you are a moon goddess, right?"

leona is not blind, he just need a solid evidence to confirm his gut feeling. unique magic spells + signature spear + glowing eyes and your hair locks literally looking like that?

while fighting along side each other, leona could literally leave his back open because heknew and trust that you always have his back and vice versa

"leona-senpai, watch out-" before jamil could jump in between the incoming attack and leona, you pulled the second year by his hood deflected the attack with your spear so effortlessly. "it's fine, moon fairy here got our backs." you hear leona said proudly before landing a critical hit on the phantom. "aren't you glad you're stuck with us?"

everyone in school knows how two of you would make an unbeatable duo when it comes to strategies and games

and not going to lie, leona thinks so too! you are strong, smart and everything above + treats you life his closest friend and respects you a lot but you do things sometimes that are not really necessary

"are you done yet?" he couldn't help but ask, his tail thumping on the floor with annoyance while you tried braiding some parts of his hair.

you peek over his should and smiled, trying to show him the small braid that you did on the side. "yeah, it's fun braiding your hair!" after your identity being revealed, you let yourself relax more around him - when you express happiness, your hair starts glowing as it did before and small crescent like moon thingy start appearing around you

... leona find that cute + now he understand why people become starstruck when it comes to you

"did you hear about the rumors? recently, students are saying that when you go to the botanical garden at night and stand under the moonlight - all your questions will be answered!"

the fact that rumors like that exists made azul irritated because it means he got competition. and having competition in the thing he do best is not fun.

so he and the twins went to investigate - how and where the rumors first started and who are most likely to be involved in the case

surprisingly enough, it all leads to a certain ramshackle vice dorm leader aka you + azul already knew you due to being the same year and his 'rival'

he considers you as his rival because you two always seem to fight for the top 2 and 3 spot every exam but for you... i think he would be hurt if you say that you like to aim for the top spot because it's fun 🤩

it was during lunch time and you were planning to eat with yuu, grim and the others when all of a sudden, someone blocked your way out by leaning on the door. "(last name) can i ask a bit of your time? i would like to ask you regarding an important matter." the ever so charismatic azul asked, his usual charming smile on as if he wants to do business with you. "oh, hi azul. what is it about?" "how delightful! do you happen to know the rumor about your unanswered questions will be answered as you stand under the moonlight?" "there is a rumor like that? under the moonlight? why the specifics?" one thing that azul observed about you is that your emotion reflects on your eyes. call it his gut feel but just one look and he already knew you were telling the truth "a pity... it seems like i am back to square one." "... maybe i can go help you out? i am not that busy these upcoming days."

and so azul's little group grew in numbers consisting of him, you, yuu, grim and the twins. oddly enough, it was actually fun to hang out with you

azul never got to interact with you that much before and only knew information about your through papers and from what he heard from people but being with you right now exceeds his expectations

"if headmaster crowley is similar to crow... do you think he likes to hoard shiny things?" you suddenly whispered it to azul one day in class, your mind clearly wandering and not paying attention to what professor trein is writing on the board. "what is with the random thought?" what is we leave a trail of shiny things and create a trap, that would be really funny."

you were an oddball. sometimes you will joke around with him and trying to make him laugh during class. there are also times where he couldn't explain the calming feeling he had whenever you are around + he could never even feel any other intentions from your actions as if you genuinely want to become his friend

it took him a while to notice how you always seem to stand out and become the embodiment of grace and elegance - a confident yet modest person who knows what you want

you always help him out in solving the rumor mystery but there is something that made you look suspicious → you always go back to your dorm before sunset

it's not that he wants to take up all your time but the way you stand firm of not being able to join them during night time and saying how dangerous it is made him suspect you of something

so he went alone wearing his ceremonial robes (the twins are taking over his duties for a while i know very unbelievable but imagine) to investigate the botanical garden and there he saw you run inside - a trail of silver light following you behind

and when azul went inside to stand in the spot, trying to think of what to wish until he hears a familiar voice ringing in the building

"say your wish out loud and the moon will light its way to you." "well, now this is marvelous. can i see one guiding my wish for me?" azul looked up, trying to call out for you, even looking around to see signs of you. there was a moment of silence before he heard you sigh and in an instance, you appeared before him, avoiding his look. "i thought i told you to let it go?"

after finding out you were his competitor - he didn't really feel annoyed at all! rather he was intrigued on how you were able to do it ...? you help the students find the answers on their own in their dreams?!

seeing your hair glow in silver light in the dark reminds him of himself as some octopus also glow in the dark just like him!

"azul, do you know that i really admire you?" "me? what is there to admire about me? i do nknow i have a remarkable potential but compared to y-" "no, seriously. you don't need to compare yourself to me. having to do all these business related work AND studying at the same time? you should appreciate yourself more."

... do you want to make him cry on the spot? hearing such words makes him happy but hearing it from you aka one of the people he really admire and yes he admits he admire you as a rival - his emotions are going haywire.

even if he is smart, it will take time for azul to realize that his admiration is just growing stronger and stronger each day and bloom into something else

Tell me I'm not the only one who's thought of this? Like Yuu's overblots, but it's like a fusion of Yuu and Grim and becomes a chimera beast.

I actually have an idea for this.

It's known as the Phantom Beast of Despair. The human body is cracked and leaking blot like the glass heads of the phantom. There is no reasoning with it, it can not talk, there is nobody left who cares enough for Yuu that they can reach Yuu's humanity. This is a Yuu that has fallen into absolute despair. They are filled with a deep seated hunger that is never satisfied. They will consume all, and they will be filled.

This version of Yuu is from a bad ending timeline. All of the people that overblotted died, and the others are either severely injured or killed during the battle. The world governments are looking for a cause of the overblots and they place the blame on Yuu being an outsider from another world. Because nobody has seen such a rapid succession of overblots in one place and Yuu was connected to all of them.

They believe Yuu is the reason for the overblots and they're put on trial. They are placed on a court run by the leaders of the different countries including Falena and Maleficia. The world sees them as public enemy number one. They are shackled and stood in front of the court and put on trial for all the deaths and destruction they caused. They can't bring themselves to speak and only cry when they hear every name called off, with every memory of watching their friends die. Their soul breaks a little bit more. The voices around them argue loudly but they start to fade out as their heartbeat and inner voice gets louder.

"I'm so sorry, It's all my fault, none of you should have died, I never should have came here, You would still be alive. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry...."

Finally, the cracks in Yuu's very soul cause it to break, once a beautiful prismatic soul begins to turn black.

Yuu looks up at the court and their face contorts into a twisted smile, eyes devoid of any light.

The court scream.

"Look at them! They have no remorse for what they've done! Did you take delight in destroying so many lives? They trusted you! They called you their friend! You're nothing but a demon in human skin!"

Yuu begins to laugh, hollow, broken, crazed, as blot begins leaking from their body. Eyes, ears, nose, mouth. Their very pores bleed blot.

The court begins to panic and call for the immediate execution of Yuu. They begin throwing kill spells at Yuu trying to stop them, but it's too late.

Because they have brought hell upon this world. Because what happens to an empty vessel, a colorless empty soul?

It can only be filled.

And this one is filled with absolute despair and rage.

and the world will pay the price for it.

Thinkin' About Blot Monsters

So I’m gonna dive in without a lot of pretense here since I've already talked about how in the Twst canon, Yuu is twisted from Mickey Mouse. And I've been stuck in the hellscape that is the battle maps of Lilia's dream in Book 7 for like a year now because, surprise surprise, I'm actually awful at this game, so I've gotten plenty of time to think about these guys:

I've had a suspicion that the blot discussed in game is a reference to one particular character from the Mickey Mouse comics canon for a while now and these guys confirmed it. The blot, the in world magical buildup and manifestation of a mage's bad feelings, when personified is twisted from The Phantom Blot.

And The Phantom Blot is the first real villain (not antagonist like Pete or Mortimer) to beef with Michael Mouse.

The Phantom Blot was introduced in the Mickey Mouse comics as a villainous thief with a camera smashing problem. He's sort of like a serial killer but instead of murder, he breaks the crap out of cameras and the police are trying to stop him. Mickey is also involved in stopping him for some reason (he was an adventurer in he og comics and also his best friend was Horace Horsecollar, not Donald or Goofy but that's a story for a different time). Now I don't know the details because I haven't read it, but I do know that from this comic on, if the Phantom Blot appears in a story with Mickey, he's getting his plans foiled by that mouse.

He increasingly gets more evil with every appearance, eventually seeking world domination and hoping to murder Mickey. He shows up in other comics too where his vibes are matched more like in Ducktales and Darkwing Duck where supervillains are more common.

He's also made appearances in a few cartoons with the most prolific being the Mouse Works short, "Mickey Foils the Phantom Blot" which sounds like it takes a few story beats from the original comic. It was also my first exposure to the Phantom Blot when it was the main cartoon shown in the House of Mouse episode "House of Crime" where he causes chaos at the club and kidnaps patroms. Since then he's been a cameo in the Mickey Mouse Shorts and a supporting character in DuckTales (2017).

As a side note, it's hilarious to me that a supervillain is targeting such a little guy because in something like Fantasmic where all the villains are going after Mickey, he's basically a powerful god of the Disney Parks. Like, imagineers originally wanted Mickey to walk on water during the show but the CEO at the time, Michael Eisner, said no mostly because the mouse would look too much like Jesus. In most of the other cases the Blot encounters Mickey, he's just a guy. He's a regular guy with really good or really bad luck, depending on how you look at it.

Anyway, if you saw these guys in Twisted Wonderland and thought "Woah, like in Epic Mickey!" you're actually right!! Because the Shadow Blot from Epic Mickey, the big monster that appears after Mickey accidently destroys Wasteland, is based on the Phantom Blot. Epic Mickey takes a lot from the old Mickey comics- including treating Horace Horsecollar and Peg Leg Pete as "forgotten characters" even though they've still hung around- because of its emphasis on forgotten and old concepts in Disney and Mickey Mouse history. Their original parts for their old series were mostly undiscussed by the Disney Company until after the game's release.

I am glad that the Phantom Blot is getting another cameo even though it's as a fucked up ink monster in another game. This would be the second ink monster appearance out of three through because apparently ink is an important part of Lorcana?? Just learned that while looking up the recent Lorcana card for him that inspired me to write this. Is he part of their ink lore too???

Can we hear your thoughts on Leona! Yutu?

Since Leona died fighting the Phantom, Yutu obviously wouldn't have met him, and I'm wondering about your ideas between what Leona became after NRC, how the loss of Yuu affected him, Leona's death, and Yutu's opinion of him before and after meeting him. I had an errant idea of Leona having Died a Hero's Death and then when Yutu meets him it's like, "THIS is the guy my parent was willing to spend the rest of their life with???"

Anyway yeah. As a Leona Simp, I would much appreciate anything you write.

Does he like cats... you know I have always sort of seen Leona has having a petty rivalry with Grim because he thinks he should be the King Cat, so the image of Leona! Yutu lying in a field with a bunch of cats is sort of a perfect contrast. I like it: Leona! Yutu absolutely loves cats and they love him.

Leona and and his position in the kingdom's line of succession... Based off my understanding of what we see in the Tashmina event I think the Savanna would prioritize protecting their royal family over a lot, something that pissed Leona off. He went to fight the King of Beast's phantom because he saw it as a problem he made and that he needed to take responsibility for sure, but also because he had no faith in his brother to do anything meaningful about it. I want to say that his brother wanted to enshrine Leona as a hero for his sacrifice, but that this decision was very unpopular with his advisors so he was buried in the Elephant Graveyard without much fanfare. He is an extremely popular figure with the hyenas, as is Ruggie. They see him as restoring the Kingdom's honor in a way by defeating the false king, something no other country in the apocalypse can claim, but things are still rough since they can't rely on tourism anymore and the blot has been making the weather really unpredictable, leading to bad harvests and starving people.

If Yuu was Leona's... losing them wouldn't have a noticeable affect on him but it was a massively crushing blow. We know he hates his unique magic because turning things to sand is a curse in the Savanna, but did it really have to be his own family this time? The family he got in spite of himself, the one fucking person who chose him no matter how much he snapped at them and tried to convince them to see him for what he was; a worthless dead end that would only hurt them. And what's worse is he knows that whoever took them had his brother's cooperation.

"Couldn't let me have this one fucking thing could you?" He's laughing as he says it and not even the irritation in his sister in law's eyes makes him back down. "Stuff it. I ain't stupid enough for whatever line you got fed and I don't care about your justifications. You're gonna have to live with this one on your own, Falena. Just like I have to."

He refuses to talk to his other family after that. No matter who is asking or making demands, taking Yuu and Yutu away from him is just one step too far. His brother probably thought that Yuu would be allowed to come home and that's why he let them go, but that's not exactly an excuse Leona would be willing to accept from anyone, let alone the supposed leader of a state. He almost feels relived when the blot phantoms start wreaking things, Leona might just want to sleep until you come to wake him up again but fighting things gives him an excuse to get his mind off things. Dying is a relief, he doesn't have to deal with Idia's whining or living without you any longer than he already has. His only regret is that he had to take Ruggie with him.

I really love this fanart and head cannon fima11 had of Leona's hair being light when he was born, and the color getting darker as he grows, so the idea of something similar happening with Leona! Yutu when he's born is really sweet. Leona's hair sort of resembles a mane, it'd be cute if Leona! Yutu's did the same. And genetics are already so weird I don't think any earth doctors would like too much of it.

Leona! Yutu is a sleepy boy. His hobby is napping and his favorite place in the whole wide world is his bed. He has a bad habit of laying face first in his pillows because he snores pretty loudly and he doesn't want to wake anyone up, which sort of makes him look like he has passed out as opposed to just settled down for a good snooze.

Because he is being raised by a single parent in the human world and not a bunch of gossipy servants hired by emotionally neglectful royalty, Yutu is significantly less entitled than Leona is. He has good sense with his money and can work hard, he just has a bit of a problem with resting bitch face that leaves people thinking he is rude. And to be fair? If someone is testing his patience then he really can be. Apple didn't fall far from the tree, Yutu is absolutely brutal when people test his patience.

Yuu's memories of Leona don't exactly help with his perceived behavior problems, they recall Leona's catty personality and how rude he could be, but that he was so remarkably clever and so very strong, that they were in awe of him sometimes. I think they would mention that he struggled with depression due to a difficult upbringing and feel a need to make sure Yutu felt appreciated and like he could do anything he set his mind to, no matter who he was born as. Yutu just takes that to mean that being a bitch runs in the family and he fully intends to ride that excuse to the bank.

It's a nice thought but Yutu feels a bit conflicted by it. He has no doubt that Yuu will always love and support him, but other people? Yuu might be able to ignore what their neighbors say about them but Yutu can hear them loud and clear. They think Yuu's amnesia is an act, and that he's a weirdo freak. Not to mention they don't have any money so even if he wanted to be a doctor or something like that going to school would be a bit of a pain, even with his grades. He finds school to be boring, and even when he gets bullied by one of the coaches in to taking up a sport because of how strong he is it doesn't help much.

I could see him being very into space and astronomy because he feels like he doesn't belong in your world. He knows a lot of downright stupid stuff about UFO sightings and aliens even though he doesn't believe in them. He is SO DISAPPOINTED when Twisted Wonderland turns out to have no conspiracy theories to talk about, can't think the moon landing was faked if you never had one after all. If the world wasn't literally ending he would be pushing for the Sunset Savanna to win the space race, c'mon guys it is in our name everything the light touches totally expands to the stars-

Like the other beastmen Yutus he maintains his instincts, even in your world. He is extremely territorial about his things and especially your home. Like Cater! Yutu, he has strong feelings of nostalgia for your world, but unlike him it has nothing to do with the monsters or hardships. Lions just tend to stay in the same place for a long time so moving to entirely different world and ecosystem makes him feel weird, even if he prefers his beastfolk body to his human one.

Gets put in Savanaclaw by the mirror. He might like space but his preferred type of argument is rearranging someone's dental work before asking them to explain themselves. He'd be terrible at defending a thesis.

Leona! Yutu's place in the Sunset Savanna hierarchy is tricky. I think, as Yutu is his brother's child, Falena would want some sort of relationship with him as he does clearly love his brother. What makes that hard is that as far as the government is concerned, Leona is dead and that's the end of his part of the family line. Acknowledging that he had a son could further destabilize the already tense political situation in the Savanna since Leona's sacrifice is already a point of conflict between the royal family and a portion of their people. While Crewel has no problem telling Yutu about his father since he has a right to know, the fact that he is technically a prince is completely hidden from him for a long time.

We haven't really played with this idea yet, but I sort of like Leona having a ghost that hangs around his grave sometimes. Idia arranges for Yutu to go there on a day he thinks he'll be hanging around and while Yutu doesn't get to talk to his father he does get to see him and the look of pride in his eyes when the grumpy lion realizes who he is. Leona gets to pass on and be with Yuu while Yutu gets a lesson from his cousin about the concept of the great Kings living on in the sky and how the past lives on in him. Because while Cheka understand his dad's concerns like hell is he not going to meet his favorite cousin. His enthusiasm is really exhausting to Yutu, he appreciates the fact that someone has nice things to say about his dad but he isn't too sure how much he trusts this guy.

Oh right one more thing, I don't want to say each of the Savanaclaw boys would pass their magic on to their Yutu's so if we ever get around to Jack he won't, but Leona should pass on King's Roar to his kid. Causing a drought might be considered a curse but I want to say Leona! Yutu wears it with pride. He loves his roar and that despite all the effort put in to erasing Leona from existence he still lives in him. His head is fit to wear the crown, no matter what anyone says.

Leona clocks what Yutu is the instant he steps out of the portal. It's all in the kid's scent and what runes he used to make the jump. He takes some time to think about what it could mean and comes to a few conclusions. Firstly, if he has a kid with you then he will always have some sort of relationship with you, no not in the yandere possessive way (mostly), he just knows enough about himself and his wants to know that having a kid would not be something he did by accident. If he did that at some point in the future it would be because you were going to stay with him forever and he actually believed that. Something that clearly did not get to happen because of how protective Yutu is of his parent.

Yutu was a bit confused if he should go about interacting with his dad or even ask about him so you can imagine his surprise when he stops by Ramshackle to see Leona half asleep on the couch.

"Oh sorry Yuu isn't here-"

"I know." Leona doesn't even open his eyes, and is he seriously wearing his shoes on the couch? Yuu would kill him for that it's so unsanitary.

"Um. Ok I'll just leave you be the-"

"Why'd you travel back in time?" Oh Leona's eyes are open now and there is something about that stare that's nailing Yutu to his spot and tempting his tail between his legs. His dad must notice because he laughs and shakes his head. "Seriously? If that's all it takes to scare you shitless we really are fucked."

Leona doesn't outright say he knows he's his dad, but Yutu gathers that's probably the case from the difference in his attitude around him compared to everyone else. There's a degree of coldness and severity to Leona when he's giving orders that really isn't present when he's talking to him about overblots or his theories about who is responsible for the bad future. He's almost playful about it, like he is messing with a cub. Which Yutu supposes that he is but still, he doesn't like being treated like a kid. Something he very much regrets telling Leona because holy shit his dad is strong just like Yuu said he was.

I think Leona would make him play chess against him a lot. You can learn a lot about a person by playing chess with them, and since it's something Leona really likes to do he would enjoy sharing it with his son. I think he would also get a kick out of seeing Yutu get really competitive with him about it. Maybe there is some lion in this kid after all.

Leona also makes a subtle effort to teach him about how the court of the Sunset Savanna works. I think Leona would sort of enjoy the fact that his kid didn't grow up as royalty just because it meant he was free of the pressures that he had, but hate everything else he learned about Yutu's childhood. It inspires him to think a bit deeper about how he is going to address this when Yutu is born in this timeline, though he is admittedly lacking on solutions beyond refusing to die this time. He must have been really far gone to even consider making a heroic sacrifice that's not like him at all.

He does get the appeal of his father sort of? Sure he's lazy, but he is extremely intelligent and clearly a lot more knowledgeable about literally everything than Yutu thought he was. When they're working together he sees a very impressive person and reliable leader. When he sees Leona interact with you he has questions. Why do you let him pick fights with you so often? Yutu can tell he's making heart eyes at how you fight back but that's because he's a beatman himself so he can read his body language. And he's not crazy about how he orders you around because if his father is a Prince... wouldn't that mean by marrying him you would also be royalty? He is so confused...

Meanwhile Leona isn't rushing things just because he knows you return his feelings at some point. He wants you to choose to be with him of your own free will, wants the feeling that comes with knowing you did that and he is willing to play the game to get that. Every milestone he reaches is so much sweeter for knowing that he got you on his efforts alone, crappy attitude and all.

The reveal to Yuu, much like the reveal to Yutu is extremely mundane. Leona invites you to spend the night with him sometime after you get together and he asks you while you're curled up on his chest and he's holding you just a bit too tight (not because he's afraid you'll run, not at all) how you would feel if you could never go home.

"A little upset." Because you had resigned yourself to the possibility a long time ago now. There's a chance you're only in Twisted Wonderland because you died in your world anyway, might as well be grateful you're still kicking. "And if you stayed and things went bad here, would you still be alright with that?" You don't hesitate at all to his surprise. "I think I'd be safe if I was with you." Well he really hates to prove you wrong but you still deserve to know.

Leona is weirdly quiet in his anger. He roars sure, but that's to exert control. When he's mad he just gets smug and says a lot of hurtful stuff. He leaves the screaming to Yuu, and I could see a Yuu that got with Leona only to learn they didn't get to spend the rest of their life with him doing a lot of screaming. Preventing the apocalypse is a team effort now but first Yutu and Leona are getting scolded for not letting Yuu in on the secret sooner. Leona is down bad horrendous and Yutu wants to die, he hates making you mad.

If I had to make a list of characters I would trust to find a solution to an apocalypse, Leona would actually be pretty close to the top. He is going to bitch about it the entire way, but if he were given the facts before things went too sideways, I think he would be able to make a good plan to set them straight. And there is no way anyone is going to tell him that he managed to have something as precious to him as Yuu taken away from him and not have him do something about it. He'll swallow his pride and take his licks when he has to, but not on this. Never on this, whoever thought he'd just roll over and die is going to shatter in his hands and be like dust on the wind. He really hopes they have enough sense to be prepared....

Twisted Wonderland Zombie Overblot AU

So I've been thinking about this for years now. Ever since 2021, a year after I had entered the fandom of Twisted Wonderland (which, by the way, saved me from my suicidal ideation and my deteriorating mental health back in 2020. But that's not the focus of this post, soooo....). And honestly, if Malleus couldn't fight OB!Grim until after he was fully healed or forced to fight him alongside the others when he isn't at full health, it's gonna fuck up the entire school, staff included! So, the plot summary is a bit messy on my end because it's written as a letter, but here it is!: "The catalyst of our desperate and demoralizing situation had only been the beginning when some kind of monster had transformed into a being worthy of a curse being plagued upon us.. Everyone and everything was slowly being destroyed one by one. It’s unnaturally bright blue eyes, it’s marred and patchy gray fur with claws almost like talons…

"It shook us all to the core. This monster just couldn’t be stopped.. How could something have become so powerful that not even the great Malleus Draconia could put an end to this fearsome beast? Not even its master could muster up enough power despite their leadership and gathering the best of magicians in order to face it. Even as I had written in fervent need to communicate this to someone, to anyone, the screaming and the fall of human, beastman, fish person…

"I didn’t know if we, the students of Night Raven College, could hold it together anymore. Nothing seemed to work on this hideous Overblot beast..

"Every magical spell, everything in the books that the teachers have taught us… This hopeless situation was just getting worse and worse… The sky turned gray, almost resembling the bottomless pit of dismay and despair. The clouds a murky, blackened hue of darkness, an abyss of seemingly never ending night…

"At this point, it was meaningless to focus on taking down the beast. Everyone had to run for cover, go back to their homelands to be with their families. But not everyone had the fortune or good luck to be back in loving arms.. Not all of us made it.

"Now seven years later, the resources like food and water have become scarce, people are resorting to inhumane means just to survive another dreadful day in this apocalypse. Nobody’s found a single thing that could lead to the cure yet and people are dying off more and more each and every day. This winter is a bitter, frigid cold that may be the end of Twisted Wonderland..."

The details that I have outlined and the updates:

Involves a battle between OB!Grim whom we see at the beginning and Malleus along with the other housewardens and the rest of the student body.

But what happens is that the accumulation of blot that comes from the usage of magic and the fact that Malleus isn't in tip top shape after he semi-recovers from his overblot (since he didn't get to fully recover), OB!Grim wipes the floor with them and basically creates these OB phantoms and shadows that act as zombies.

Non-magical humans could treat this as a normal zombie apocalypse and magical humans have to treat it as it is, being extra careful of their blot accumulation unless they want to overblot and turn into an OB zombie either by that or by being bitten, scratched, or attacked in some way by the OB zombies.

Because of Malleus's magic, the weather has morphed into black clouds in the sky so that the sun is nearly blocked out on Sage's Island.

So, the Fae (Malleus, Lilia, and the other Fae around the world, plus Briar Valley) are safe and immune from being turned into OB zombies via being attacked in any way. Although they still have to be careful with blot accumulation, they won't likely turn into zombies. Half-Fae are more likely to be infected by blot, but the Fae blood makes it so that it slows down the infection rate, making it so that they can save themselves. Silver, however, is not safe from this since he's a human. A Fae's blessing, however, does provide protection, albeit limited.

Adding more to this: Magic is much more primal and wild and in tune with nature again since most of what is left of technology has been wiped out thanks to Grim overblotting and destroying everything in his path. No, not even Malleus Draconia can stop Grim since that little bastard had to go and eat the last blot stone.

But thanks to magic being more primal and wild again like it was back in the time of the Middle Ages, the Old Gods (such as Altaria, the Goddess of Light, Healing and Resurrection. She is a human Goddess while Zakros is a Fae God and is the God of Destruction, Darkness, and War. Yes, EVEN SWORDS that were forged by the Fae have been named after them and yes, Silver wields Altaria while Sebek wields Zakros since those swords have selected them as being worthy to wield them) are being worshipped again.

The zombie apocalypse is what brings Fae, human, beastmen, merfolk, and all other intelligent species together, all united under one common cause. To rid the world of the zombie overblots and start the world anew.

What started it all was Grim eating Malleus's overblot stone and self-destructing since Malleus's overblot stone combined with the blot already in Grim's system accumulating and overflowing without an outlet to keep it steady, balanced, and stable. In order to get rid of the zombie overblots that are overwhelming the world, the Dorm Leaders and their families will have to join forces in order to beat down Grim and deplete his magical reserves. But I want some character arcs like character redemption arcs, changes that are somewhat in character. Things that'll really shake up their foundational roots and make them rethink the choices that were made up until now. For example: Lilia rethinks all of the choices that he made while in his youth due to him having magic again thanks to this amulet that the spirits of Meleanor and Revan helped him find. This is a second chance to make things right by them, Malleus, Silver, and by association, Sebek. So, he would go about it in a more strategic, calculated, and methodical way in order to make sure that his magical reserves won't get depleted this time. Yes, Yuu is suspicious in the eyes of the main cast since they were the last ones seen with Grim before they disappeared during his overblot.

It'll depend on the composition of their DNA, but Half-Fae have a possibility of getting infected, the same with many other intelligent species.
