Oh my god Matt nailed the exact kind of personality I hate the most with Ludinus.

The “I think I’m smarter than everyone around me and I know best” kind of personality. (Which classic wizard shit)

Cause when they kept asking him the hard questions of “what if your wrong” and “why do you get to be the one to make this call for everyone” he gave non-answers or deflected.

But he still held the ideal over them of them just being children who don’t know what they want but don’t worry even if they go kicking and screaming he’ll make sure everyone makes it to his ideal world

Yk ever since Beetlejuice Beetlejuice trailer dropped I keep seeing more and more people saying weird shit like "omg he waited for her💕💕🥺🥺" and just generally shipping Bj and Lydia and uh

Aside from it just being gross and odd, another main problem that I have with it, is that people completely ignore their personalities and character dynamic for the sake of making them that cutesy couple

Cus yk how I see Beetlejuice's and Lydia's dynamic in the movie? Let me paint you a picture.

Your parents brought you to a family gathering, where you don't know anyone, and so happen to be the youngest member of the family at the dinner table. You can't and don't want to talk to anyone, so you just sit there, listening to your mother argue with someone on politics.

Then suddenly, you feel an arm wrapping around your shoulders, your nose being viciously attacked with the smell of sweat and booze, and when you turn to look at the one who invaded your personal space, you see that one uncle.

Nobody ever invites him to the family gathering, because nobody knows if there's even a way to contact him in order to invite him to family gatherings. The last time he responded to a call or an email was in 2012, and each time someone asks him where he lives, he names a different nonexistent location.

Yet somehow he always knows the place of celebration, and the time too, because he's always late by 1 hour and 27 minutes square.

Nobody knows who's brother, son, or at least cousin he is, and even though you know he's your uncle, you have zero memory of being introduced to him, yet everyone in the family hates his guts.

And because you're the only person who happens to not hate his guts, every time he sees you and hugs you out of nowhere, you know, that your next couple hours will be spent in a total spacing out session, while your uncle slowly pulls away your sanity, talking about his another new podcast or about how Biden ruined America.

And no amount of time that passed or pictures of you that he has on his desk will ever make you feel less grossed out by him. Cus he's still the same uncle that you lowkey can't stand.

This is the closest I could get to the feelings I think they have towards one another

Jika komitmen dirinya adalah menjaga pandangan dan memelihara kemaluan, maka tidak akan pernah berat baginya untuk memutuskan semua rantai yang bisa menimbulkan fitnah di masyarakat.

Karena sampai kapan pun, lelaki selalu memiliki kontrol atas perasaan perempuan.

Karena selamanya perempuan akan menjadi makhluk yang senang diberi perhatian dan kejutan.

Untuk itulah laki-laki harus meretas perhatian itu. Membatasi setiap kejutan yang sewaktu-waktu bisa menimbulkan benih-benih perasaan.

Karena kita tidak akan pernah bisa mematikan asumsi orang-orang terkait apa yang nampak di ruang publik.

Apa yang menjadi konsumsi banyak mata adalah sesuatu yang akan menimbulkan banyak prasangka. Maka salah satu jalan agar terhindar dari fitnah, tidak mendatangkan banyak prasangka adalah dengan berupaya menghindari pusat dari prasangka tersebut.

Tidaklah seseorang dikatakan gemar menghadiri konser musik, jikalau yang nampak dari kesehariannya adalah perihal panggung megah dengan penyanyi bak dewa. Juga dirinya yang ada di sana, seraya memamerkan semua aktivitas yang ia geluti.

Maka begitu pula dengan kedekatan seseorang.

Kamu tidak akan pernah diduga sedang menjalin sebuah hubungan dengan seseorang, sampai kamu berani berjalan dengannya di ruang publik, berdua, bersama. Terlebih jika kamu berdua tidak terikat hubungan pernikahan.

Maka jalan satu-satunya untuk mematikan asumsi orang lain adalah menghindari hal-hal yang bisa menimbulkan kesalahan perspektif.

Kamu mungkin bisa mengelak, menampik semua persangkaan banyak orang. Tapi aktivitasmu, gerak tubuhmu adalah tanda baca. Membiarkan orang lain melihat berarti membiarkan orang lain menarik kesimpulan atas dirimu, gerakmu, aktivitasmu.

Karena sampai kapan pun, orang-orang akan selalu percaya.

Bahwa mustahil menjalin hubungan akrab dengan lawan jenis tanpa melibatkan perasaan.
