Prompt:     "This better be good."
Fandom: Fnaf Security Breach, The Other Side of Justice au
Rating: T
Warning: vulgarity, crime scene, nothing graphic
A murder scene was the last thing Moon had wanted to walk into, but here he was.
The victim was, as far as Moon could tell from a distance, a man in his forties. He was shot through the chest and slumped in a seated position with his hands in his lap.
As private investigators, he and Sun couldn't do shit about this. Dead bodies were the cops' problem. He and his brother were meant for information gathering, finding lost wallets and wayward kids. This? He had to call it in, fast.
Eclipse came up on his right, making a tsking sound in his voicebox.
"Guess this is more than a sound complaint."
"Shut it. I gotta call the Chief. Don't move."
"Sure thing, dick." Eclipse, jeered.
Grumbling Moon hauled the difficult tag along with him back out to the street. Finding a payphone he rang the police station.
"You'd think, having stumbled upon Artificial Intelligence, that humans would upgrade to portable communications." Eclipse kicked at the sidewalk with freshly polished shoes.
He dressed well for a dockyard worker.
Another question for another time.
The phone rang a third time and Moon felt his fans kick in. He wasn't overheating but his systems responded to the more firey of his emotions with such. He bit back a growl and performed the optic equivalent of an eyeroll instead.
"They did genius, but sentient tin cans like you and me scared them back to the stone ages." He smirked in response to the glare Eclipse leveled at him and continued, "There's so much red tape around tech that me and Sun are only cleared for internal comms with eachother. Everything else is jammed until we've hit our 5th year."
"How far left to go?" Asked Eclipse, bringing Moon's attention back to this end of the call.
The sixth ring confirmed it, poor Kent.
It was no surprise that the Chief's secretary was unable to keep on top of it all.
"Two and a half."
"Stars, you're fresh off the assembly line!"
"Shut it, we didn't all get pushed through quality testing to meet deadlines." That got a snarl complete with static.
"Fuck you, snoop! At least I-" Eclipse's complaint was cut short as the phone line crackled to life.
Finally, and it was even the police chief himself who answered.
"Hey Chief, we got a problem. That disturbance call? It lead us to a stiff in a back alley." There was a pause as Moon listened to the Chief's exhausted barking, "Yes..." he responded glancing back the way the had come, "That's outside my-" Judging by the quirk of his expression, Eclipse could here the Chief's bullhorn of a voice from the door of the booth, "Sir...just-" Moon grit his teeth, "Right, send the credentials then so we don't hear about it later." Conversation ended, Moon slammed the reciever back on the hook with a growl.
"I thought you only had comms with-" Stepping smartly from the phone booth, Moon shoved Eclipse back, hands gripping his coat collar.
"It's a one way channel," he snapped, leaning in with a hiss, "now listen close 'cause I'm only saying this once. The only reason you are here is because Sun is out cold and I need a bot at my back to avoid getting scrapped by some two bit thug like the John down that alley." Moon glared up at the taller animatronic, his anger at his circumstance boiling over, "To keep it simple, the Chief has cleared me for the invetigation. Keyword being me. So let me be clear, you don't touch anything, look and anything or think of anything except standing guard or I will forget all about your little act of heroism and send you to the junkers myself." Moon paused, locking red optics with amber. "Got it?"
"What did I tell you about hands to yourself?"
"I don't care. One slip up and Sun and I could lose more than just our spots on a wait list. Our whole practice is on the line if you interfere. Investigative licenses torn up!" Moon hissed, his grip tight on the fabric lapels.
Eclipse stared down at him, motionless. Moon could practically hear the hum of his fans. There was a glint in those optics that he didn't like. The bot before him was dangerous. A few beats more and something shifted. Eclipse's shoulders slumped, his cat-like optics dimming as he emmited an exaggerated sigh.
"Alright, I'll watch your back and nothing else," Moon released his coat and Eclipse brush him away stiffly, "but a word of advice, Detective? Check him for more than bullet holes. That stiff was dead before that gun even went off."
Moon, quirked his expression.
"What makes you so sure?"
"Wounds of living men bleed more. There wasn't enough blood, even at a glance." Eclipse straighten his coat indignantly, even as he delivered his macabre observations.
"How comforting..."
Definitely not a common dock worker.
Moon flinched as the Chief's clearance missif popped into his field of view. The human's messaging system overlay took some getting used to. Stars forbid something ever be sent during a moment of focus or a brawl, not that Moon planned on another one of those.
Rushing through the legal jargon, and finding everything above board, he closed the message with a semi-satified hum only to have another envelope icon pop up.
"This better be good." Moon opened the message and froze.
Attached was a case file, discribing three murders. All investigated with the last month and each victim murdered elsewhere in varying ways before being dumped in seemingly unconnected locations. Yet all three reports included an identical feature. A single item, a calling card, if you will.
Moon thought of how the dead man's hands had been clasped loosly on his lap. The other victims had their hands arranged in a similar fashion and between them the melted remains of a plain white pillar candle.

At your side [End of Season 2]
[First] Prev <–-> Next
#poorly drawn mdzs#mdzs#wei wuxian#lan wangji#wen ning#jin ling#wen qing#jiang yanli#a-yuan#It may have taken a year but we did it! The end of season 2!!!#(Granted: this season was nearly twice the length of season one.)#It's been a really fantastic season to draw for. So many iconic moments! It was a lot of work but I had a blast B*)#I also enjoyed experimenting more and more with my comic style. I'm growing as a comic artist bit by bit!#There is even a little bit of shadowing in this one for next season. As a treat. All the fun (and not heart breaking) scenes to come!#Comic talk time: Recently saw 12 angry men for first time and I love the coincidence of the themes aligning here.#They both touch upon the horror of judicial systems - in which the most persuasive argument wins and the truth is a nuisance.#All it takes is one person to stand against the crowd and say 'I do not know what is true. And that is reasonable doubt enough.'#When the majority is for condemning someone guilty - that in itself is persuasive enough.#One will set their mind to what the 'truth' is and refuse to see it any other way. That their perspective is the only correct one.#No one is born with a monopoly on the truth.#Everyone has biases and agendas. Some care not for the outcome - only that they can be on the convenient side.#Lan Wangji is putting everything on the line to say 'I'm not going to go with the majority vote.'#And that is a huge deal in a story that is so politically focused as MDZS is. Everything is a careful chess move to these sects -#and to not play the game is basically sacrificing everything you are and your families name. For some it is unthinkable.#And there is no doubt in LWJ's mind. He would stand there and lose everything if it means upholding justice.#More importantly - these two have each other's backs. The bond is unbreakable. This is the most ride or die I have seen two people be.

Justice League & The Observants
The first time The Observants appeared before the Justice League, they were met with resistance. The JL was more than apprehensive when it came to working with the beings.
A new side of their world was exposed to them. Since the day those things showed up at the watchtower, everywhere the JL turned, there was a new spooky thing to learn about.
The strange beings didn't say much. Appearing in the room through a swirling portal, took a look at the heroes and gave them a mission.
A mission. Like suddenly the Justice League works for them. Something that rubbed all the heroes the wrong way.
Yet, they had to take it. They couldn't let a town get absolutely destroyed and leveled just because they disliked the creatures that told them about it.
It kept happening.
Batman pulls out all the stops to learn more about these so called "Observants". Everything he could find.
It takes him down a rabbit hole. Finding out more and more about the world those beings came from. The Zone.
No one could really complain. The visits from the Observants were always short and to the point. A new problem has arise in the time line and they needed to fix it.
That was until the first time it wasn't one of those things stepping out of the portal.
This time it was a kid. Or something that looked like a kid, and this kid looked pissed.
He demands to know everything that the Observants had asked the league to do. Demands to be filled in.
The anger isn't directed at the JL. No, no. It's directed at the Observants. It seems the league aren't the only ones that despise those all-seeing beings.
He's a king. The kid is a King.
Not what anyone had expected, and it seemed the complication only grew more. The king, Phantom, informs them not to trust the Observants.
The Justice League takes it all in surprising strides. Confirms that they have done nothing wrong, and they haven't. It was simply that the Observants cared more of their own opinions than the betterment of the world.
However, it gets a little harder to keep a straight face when they are introduced to the God of Time.
Made even worse when the God, Clockwork, is a child. If they thought Phantom was a kid, this was a baby.
Except in almost a blink of an eye, Clockwork was an old man.
Things just kept getting more complicating and intriguing.
Before the Justice League knows it. They are essentially thrusted into the Zone's own problems. An inner war was brewing, and Phantom wanted to do everything he could to stop it.

Stranded Danny AU
Danny gets pulled into a faraway Dimension by a Villain one day, just after the events of Phantom Planet. He is barely 15.
He has no way to get back, but he does manage to unlock the power to make Portals. Unfortunately, none of the dimensions he ends up in are his own, and none have enough Ectoplasm to open portals for very long. It takes up to a week to scrounge up enough Ecto to open a single Portal into the next dimension over.
And none of these worlds have Technology strong enough to take him home either. The few times he did find some tech that could potentially get him home, it never worked or it was destroyed before he could finish it.
He spends well over 30 years of his own Personal Timeline trying to get back to his home dimension, constantly gathering scraps of Ectoplasm and Tech until the day he eventually collected enough to build a safe way home.
But time does not pass the same across dimensions.
What to him was a 30 year long Journey, was actually just 10 for his home Dimension.
And they had to move on without him.
Sam became a Business Woman who used her money to fund Nature Preservation Organizations. She hired Pamela Isley and helped her through her powers when she became Poison Ivy (still a Villain, but secretly working for Sam)
Tucker got a high ranking job at Star Labs, and helped Cyborg come to terms with his new life when he became a cyborg. He even helped upgrade his tech a few times.
Jazz became a successful Psychiatrist, and now works under Daina Lance as one of the Justice League's top Therapists, specifically their Child Psychologist for young Heroes
Ellie took his place as a Hero and became the new protector of Amity after he dissappear. After the Justice League was formed, she joined them and became one of their best members, always working and nor really taking many breaks.
They always wondered what happened to Danny, and spent many years trying to figure out what happened to him, but never succeeded. They finally began to assume that he was fully dead after a few years of searching. They had enough time to come to terms with it.
...
So one night, while a 22 yr old Ellie is resting on one of her rare days off, she gets called in by the League about a possible Dimensional Breach near her Home Town. JLD was deployed to investigate, and she was asked to tag along since she was the Resident Hero of the area.
But she refuses, thinking it's just some random ghost trying to enter the Living Realm illegally after she began regulating the Portal. JLD would be able to handle it on their own, let her sleep on her day off!
Meanwhile, JLD has located the spot where the Dimensional Breach is about to appear. They surround the Area, and prepare to interrogate whoever is about to appear, or deal with them if need be.
Space begins to tear apart as the fabric of Reality breaks apart at the seams. And from that wound in existence, an Adult Danny steps out. He is 44 years old, and looks like a less buff version of Dan without the mustache (basically imagine Danny as Ford Pines from Gravity Falls)
The JLD can sense that he is strong, but not too much so. It feels like he is powerful, but like that power has been starved for a while.
"Who are you?" Asks Wonderwoman, ready to jump into battle if needed. "What are your intentions in this World?"
Danny ignores them. He is staring into the Night Sky, eyes wide. The Constellations he hadn't seen in 30 years were there. The stars were in the right locations. He takes a deep breath, tasting the amount of Ectoplasm in thr Air. This is it. He's home. He's finally home.
"Finally" He says breathlessly. A slightly manic Grin on his face.
"What the hell does that mean?" Demands Constantine. The grin had unsettled him, and he began preparing a few spells just to be sure.
Danny ignored him again, this time deciding to close his eyes and finally eat his fill of Ectoplasm for the first time in 30 years. He was ravenous, this was the first decent Meal of Ectoplasm he had been able to have in 30 years. He was giddy, he was so happy to finally be home.
However the Heroes didn't know what was happening. All they knew was that some guy had ripped a hole in reality, said "finally" with a crazy grin on his face, and started emitting a dangerous amount of Death Energy for no apparent reason.
Constantine reacts on impulse, trying to cast a Banishing Spell on this guy.
Danny, feeling the spell begin to pull him away from his home after he had just found it again after Thirty. Fucking. Years. Does something that he would consider reasonable.
He quickly dashes over to Constantine and slams him through a tree.
This sparks a fight between Danny and the JLD. And at first he is having some serious trouble, but as he continues to feed on Ectoplasm and recover his strength, he becomes progressively more Powerful. It comes to the point where the JLD can't keep up anymore, and call in Backup.
Ellie was enjoying her night off, but the desperate Call from JLD about a powerful Entity at the edge of Amity finally got her going.
She rushes over and slams into Danny just as he is about to attack Constantine again. Neither of them recognize eachother, since they have changed since they were kids (Danny moreso) and continue to Duke it out.
Ellie is trying to banter with him, but Danny is really angry at this point. So he resorts to his final attack, his Ghostly Wail.
He levels a good chuck of the Forest, and in the end he is standing over Ellie as his anger fades. He says "Sorry" and he starts taking a look around him to see if there is anybody else.
Ellie is on the ground, shaken because she recognized that power.
She gets up, and asks "Danny?"
Danny finally gets a good look at her and says, and says "Ellie?"
Meanwhile JLD still has ringing in their ears and thinks that Ellie just called Danny "Daddy"
(Which makes sense because of the new age difference)

Found Family
John Constantine fucked it up, Clockwork is happy with the result.
It's no secret that John Constantine sells his soul a lot, and that he's made dubious deals, it's his specialty after all. So it was no surprise when he offered his first born child to multiple entities as part of various deals, in his opinion there was no risk, it was impossible for a baby to be born because of him.
So when Clockwork witnessed a drunken Constantine offer up a newborn as payment for breaking the rules of time travel he just shrugged, he knew the British wouldn't even remember that specific deal and his job was to find the better timelines, the Flash Family sure is going to be his future headache.
Clockwork was pretty sure a child wouldn't be born anyways, the chances were too small; For once, Clockwork was wrong, he didn't know how to feel when little Daniel was born to one of Constantine's many exes, the woman seemed honestly devastated, she wanted to give the child a good life but didn't know how.
It seemed that she was about to call John, her hands trembling as she tried to remember the number, but before she could break the news the baby disappeared from her arms, vanished as multiple laughs were heard in the hospital room. The woman immediately understood and started cursing the bastard of her ex for being so stupid as multiple contracts with the idiot signature materialized in her hands.
Clockwork began to consider his options as he stood in the center of a room with all the contractors, he could fight for the baby, he was an Ancient, but what was the point? He looked at the baby, waiting for a signal to tell him what to do; the baby stopped crying and looked at his multiple watches, laughing with joy.
And then he saw it, the possibilities that before were almost zero began to show themselves, the multiple futures of the boy: celebrations, tears, laught, the painful part? Clockwork was in all of them.
Even when he didn't directly raise him he was always there, he could see that the boy loved him and he loved him back. Time made a mistake and fall in love with the concept: permanence, family, home, that baby was everything so he made his decision.
Without much trouble he fought against all the entities, many could call him a cheater but he didn't care, time was his domain.
With Daniel in his arms he carried him to his haunt, avoiding the gaze of the observants, the baby laughed as his core purred "Welcome home, Danny" he whispered watching as the blue eyes fixed on him.
It didn't take a couple of days for Clockwork to decide to break his contract, he couldn't care less about Constantine and he hated the idea that Daniel belonged to him like an object of some kind, however he couldn't destroy the damn thing until he was sure that all the other contracts were burned (and he made sure of it)
At the end of the week his baby officially belonged to him, Constantine was really an idiot for giving the precious boy in his arms to the worst people. Frostbite and Pandora approved but they were worried.
"He is a human child Clockwork, you know we don't doubt you, but he can't grow up in the realms, you can't run away from the observants and steal human food forever" Frostbite told him.
"He is officially yours, but you need to let him go until the right time" Pandora said, she knew she might be sounding harsh, but she needed to make him understand.
Clockwork was very aware, every time he pointed out a star to Danny from his screens, every time he wrapped his cape around him, every time he kissed his forehead, he knew he had to let the baby go, that the Fentons had lost a baby and would be willing to take care of him.
Hell, he knew he could take care of the child and infiltrate the damn house but how long would it be until he could hold his baby again? hug him? it was undoubtedly painful to know the future but to live in the present, having to do the things that hurt most.
So he did, leaving Daniel (Danny, he'd like to be called Danny in the future) with his star blanket wrapped around him, he kissed the boy's forehead, and placed a bright green note in his basket "His name is Daniel, take good care of him please, and take him to the moon since i couldn't do it -C.W", with one last look he sighed as he returned to the Zone
"Everything is as it should be" he said, watching Daniel with his time screens.
He didn't leave it like that, the Fentons were honestly very distracted, pretty bad parents if he was being honest but for some reason he knew Danny would love them.
So he took it upon himself to fill in the missing details: an anonymous birthday present, a hot meal, a recipe book, glowing stars, little aids that only the children noticed. Jasmine was quite grateful to him for that.
What if there were nights where Danny fell asleep with a voice singing to him? Or if the sound of the clocks calmed him down? It was his business at the end of the day.
The years passed, inevitable things happened that the master of time himself refrained from preventing (His baby had to die, fate was very cruel to return the boy to him in that way).
Clockwork congratulated himself for not speaking to the boy until he overheard the Observants talking about killing his son and panicked, eventually introducing himself and trying to stay calm while helping with "The Dark Dan Incident"
It was a tough trip, filled with many cardiac attacks and the desire to choke ghosts (but he had to remember that Danny needed those experiences, it was for the best), there were also threats towards Frostbite when he saw the rural paintings, at least both the Yeti and the Goddess kept quiet about the adoption.
He really didn't want to scare Danny by saying "Hey, your biological dad sold you to me and I owned your soul until I decided to adopt you but couldn't talk to you until now, surprise"
So he maintained his cryptic attitude towards the boy until much later (he also enjoyed being cryptic), when he nearly fainted upon realizing that Danny's core had adopted him as a mentor and father. The guy himself was embarrassed to admit it confessing asking Frostbite about it.
To explain it better he advised Danny to ask his parents about his adoption, the boy seemed confused but agreed. Clockwork wasn't surprised when the boy appeared in the tower a few hours later, teary-eyed and a familiar green note in hand.
You see, contrary to popular belief Danny was aware that he was adopted, his parents didn't try to hide it, quite proud of that fact, but whenever he asked about his biological parents they shrugged without knowing what to say.
Clockwork's request was strange so he decided to ask one more time, his parents told him again about the night they found him, when they took out a green note claiming it came with his basket; he took it in hand, the color, the letters and the writer of the note were obvious, but his parents affirmed they had no idea who C.W was.
With a thank you and a farewell he returned to the realms, the note trembling in his hand as he asked for answers. And he received them, Clocky looked heartbroken by his distrust, but he explained everything that happened from his birth to the present.
Suddenly everything made sense to Danny: the watches, the food, the gifts his parents claimed they hadn't bought, the singing; Clockwork had taken care of him the best he could, but he couldn't do much trapped under the observants control, he frowned at the last part but ended up hugging his father.
Ironically, that was also the day Danny decided to hate his biological father, John Constantine was a bastard who would only give him paperwork, and he had sold him! To multiple entities! If it wasn't for Clocky he'd be even more dead!
When Danny finally turned 18 and was officially declared Ghost King, his life became a thousand times easier and a thousand times more difficult.
On one hand he had managed to remove the observants who now worked for Walker, and he had managed to free Clocky, on the other hand, he had a thousand responsibilities fallen on his shoulders and he felt tired just thinking about it.
Declaring Clockwork his adviser was a good idea, although he always ended up pouting when he asked him if he wouldn't wish to be king in his place, Clocky was the king's father, shouldn't he be king instead? The master of time just laughed and shook his head, telling him to go back to his paperwork.
The days locked in his office with the thousands of papers in the name of John Constantine only increased his resentment towards his biological father, months in which he had to request a time out just to review a specific section.
————————
It was a normal day after a routine visit from Jazz and Dani when Danny was summoned, his pleasant evening with Clocky (and yes, he could call him dad many times but the nickname just stuck) was interrupted when he felt the summon, he gave a sigh of suffering asking his father if he would come along, he just shrugged as Danny disappeared.
On the other hand, the Justice League was tense, someone had warned about the release of Kronos in the world and Diana couldn't be more worried, they contacted Justice League Dark and they confirmed the presence of multiple gods of time being released.
It was Constantine who offered the solution to summon the Ghost king, if many of those entities were "dead" he should have control over them; And since it was rumored that he was a new king, they might have a chance to strike a deal.
The problem was that the result of the summon was a boy with Lazarus green eyes who stepped out of the circle, directing his hateful eyes towards Constantine, Danny would recognize the bastard anywhere, he had asked his dad to show him.
At first Batman assumed that the color of his eyes meant that the boy was induced by the same anger as Jason, this seemed to be reaffirmed when he spoke trying to remain calm "Why did you summon me, father?" was the boy's cold question.
Constantine seemed to be going through eight stages of duel in seconds as the League came to a standstill, Zatanna shot an incredulous look at her partner as a crown of ice and a white ring materialized on the boy, who crossed his arms.
The objects at least affirmed that this was the king they were looking for. Danny sighed and managed to calm down, this really was an unpleasant revelation, out of pettiness he cast his icy gaze at Constantine, freezing his feet to the ground.
It was then that Wonder Woman stepped forward, Batman was evaluating the entity next to her, even though he was calm his eyes remained the same, he had to reconsider his initial observations "Your Highness, we are here for a request"
"And what would that request be?" Danny questioned with boredom, once he had decided to ignore the Constantine in the room he simply put his mind in treat this as a business meeting.
"We have heard rumors about the release of Kronos along with multiple time entities, we fear that he is planning something against you or us" spoke the princess "We wanted you to confirm those suspicions and if they are true, help us stop them"
Danny frowned "His release doesn't concern you, even less if it's in my domain" he spoke seriously, he remembered that Clocky had told him that his lack of "management" by the observants could be read badly for the other realms, he knew that could include being confused for different entities, his father had many names at the end of the day.
"Your Highness, excuse the rudeness but I don't think you understand the seriousness of the matter" Diana said annoyed by the lack of reaction.
Danny just sneered "I think I totally get it, your sources are wrong, if they are free or not, they are not planning anything"
"I don't think it's your place to make such statements." Superman frowned.
"Oh really? I think it's my place to know if my dad is planning something" he let that revelation stay in the minds of the heroes, he wondered how many times they would be surprised in a day
"Sorry, I thought Constantine was your father?" Flash asked, sounding concerned.
"Constantine is my biological father, yes, however Kronos or whatever you call him is my adoptive father, he taked care of me since I was a baby" the halfa rolled his eyes.
"That's not possible, Kronos has been dead for a long time" Zatanna was worried by that new information.
"You have a God on your team and you wonder if it's possible to totally kill them? Because most of the time the answer is no" Danny shrugged.
"But he was trapped" Diana was sure of that.
"Yes, he was" Danny spoke, resentment ringing in his voice "I released him"
"Are you out of your mind!?" Green Lantern yelled, forgetting he was in front of a King "He obviously planned that, he probably plans to conquer the world!"
"Have you considered that he might be manipulating you?" questioned Batman with a soft voice.
"He's not manipulating me and he couldn't care less about the world, if he really wanted it he'd have it in seconds" Danny bristled at the calming victim tone and the sad eyes around him, honestly they were stupid, If Clocky wanted to rule the world, he would let it be instead of looking for a better future for everyone.
"Okay, everyone calm down, it's obvious that if he've been with him since he was a baby his influence has reached far, we should try to separate them and connect him with his biological father, everything will be fine son" Superman nodded.
"My son isn't going with some idiot wizard with no appreciation for his own soul" the topic of conversation in question appeared next to Danny, at the most dramatic moment possible.
Danny was about to yell at the heroes to stop treating him like a victim or a child when his dad put a hand on his shoulders, clearly trying to calm him down. He sighed and lunged at Clocky, hiding inside his cloak.
"Kronos what are you planning?" Diana spoke resentfully "manipulating a child is going too far"
"I was planning on enjoying tea at our house before some idiots decided to play being God" Clockwork rolled his eyes "And as much as it pains me to say it: Danny stopped being a child a long time ago, in case you forgot it he's a king, the king of all the dead and a god of his own"
"Is this your plan? become the King of the dead? Because you're not going to get away with it" Diana asked, suspicious.
"Do you have selective hearing? Cause I would love for dad to be king in my place but he really doesn't want to" Danny snorted "And since you're not going to treat this meeting seriously we're leaving, as much as I love the space this is really ruining it for me"
"You can not go away! You have to let us help you" Flash yelled worried.
"No, you don't have the right to decide that, so I'm going to go back home, drink my tea and make cookies with dad while you guys figure out how to thaw that bastard over there" Danny finally pointed at Constantine shivering in the cold as he looked at him in shock, Clockwork laughed at his side.
"I'd say it was nice to meet you, but it wasn't, don't expect much help from the dead, we're really not in the mood; go over tips on treating royals properly next time" Clockwork said a last goodbye and left.
Both the King and the God of time disappeared with the circle, along with the materials to perform the ritual; it seemed like they really didn't want to be contacted again
"That really didn't turn out as we expected" Billy muttered, he hadn't wanted to talk during the meeting because he didn't consider that either of the two beings was lying. They looked like father and son, just tired and fed up.
"We will have to evaluate this new threat, it is impossible that his words were completely true, Constantine, find out why that boy hates you so much" Batman ordered.
"I sold him" The hellbazer whispered.
"Sorry, what?" Zatanna stopped what she was doing.
"He hate me because I sold him" John passed his hands over his eyes "I didn't even consider this possible, I'm not supposed to have fucking kids, now it makes so much sense why she's avoiding me"
"She?" Superman asked
"Yeah, one of my exes tried to kill me, she keep yelling about me being an idiot and underestimating the consequences of my acts, I thought it was something normal, you know? I should have known better" He shrugged, the ice had melted but the cold stayed in his bones.
Batman took a deep breath, trying to calm down and not kill the man on the spot. "Who did you sell him to?"
"Many entities" Constantine bit his lip, embarrassed "could have sold him to Kronos for everything we know"
"You are a complete asshole and I understand why the boy does not want to see you" Zatanna spoke completely tired.
"So Kronos can own him for all we know? that's just awful" Diana was disgusted.
"It wasn't supposed to happen, evading contract liability is my specialty not dealing with the consequences" Constantine was stressed.
"This got much more complicated, we'll see how to break your son's contract and separate him from Kronos, maybe you can fix things after that" The dark knight spoke, he hated magic.
Billy refrained from mentioning that Kronos and the King didn't seem to be under a contract, or whatever his teammates were thinking, they looked like family, which for an orphan is pretty obvious.
But he knew that his companions wouldn't take his remarks seriously, so he just sighed in resignation. Maybe the League will remember that those two were from another dimension and royalty that they shouldn't anger, he really hopes they will remember soon.
For their part, Clockwork and Danny returned to their Tower now located next to the palace, deciding to prepare cookies for the visit of Sam & Tucker, one of the time screens was next to them, showing the League discussing the supposed problem.
Danny was quite annoyed that they were deciding things for him and calling his father bad but Clockwork brushed it off, they wouldn't get very far with the palace guards if they even managed to find a portal to the Realms, or even get to the palace itself.
"It's fine Daniel, everything is as it should be"

A very important thing to me about the batfam magical girl AU is that the rest of the characters are classic dc comics characters. Which means that while they have many similarities (magical girls are like lantern corps with more glitter and less police anyway, and the magical batfam story can get really dark and tragic at times), they're constantly faced with the clash between comics logic and magical girl anime logic. By which I mean:
______
Bruce, waking up the morning after adopting Dick on impulse and then sleeping the sleep of the dead: Wait, since when do I have a son? Eh, it doesn't matter.
Clark, who was listening into Gotham for whatever reason: The fuck it doesn't?
_____
Lex Luthor: How did you know about my evil evil plan?
Tim: A little bird told me.
Kon: Really, robs?
*cue glittery red robin with a crescent moon on its head landing on Tim's shoulder and speaking in an annoyingly high-pitched voice*
_____
Jason: With the power of love and this gun I found-
Kyle: Can you be serious for one fucking second?
Jason: No actually I am. I was gonna shoot the guy and accidentally left my heart open to channel the energy of the Galaxy and in doing so I saw the man for all that he could be and the magic of the Robin and the Wolf combined to make the gun magic and when the bullet hit him it changed the man on a fundamental level and he realised he wanted to follow his lost dream of selling portraits by the beach instead of trafficking people.
Kyle: what-
Jason: he died a few minutes later though. I did still shoot him in the heart.
_____
After Justice League shenanigans lead to a multiverse portal opening:
Failsafe!Batman: -so I pulled out the shark repellent to fight he jokerized space sharks, and then I fell from the moon-
Magical!Batman: That doesn't make any sense! Shark repellent spray is an absurd thing to have in your utility belt and besides, you don't just fall off from the moon!
Green Arrow : Finally somebody said it.
Magical!Batman: You have to take the magic portal on the other side of the moon!
Green Arrow: ...Spoke too soon.

Epic the Musical:
Athena: Please dad help Odysseus! I realized he is my good friend and needs help!
Zeus: Who? That shameful man I made him choose to kill himself or his men? Why would I do that? It was so fun!You just seek attention! I'll tell you what though; if you convince others then I shall release him! Let's play
Athena: *does that*
Zeus: How DARE you!
Zeus: *strikes her*
The Odyssey:
Athena: Please father how could you forget on Odysseus who was always pious to the gods?
Zeus: Me? Forget about him? How can I? He is like one of the best when it comes to sacrifices and respecting the gods.
Athena: Then why won't you help him?
Zeus: I have nothing against the man. But my hands are tied! He committed hubris and nemesis had to find him and my brother is pissed off at him. I can't do much.
Athena: I cannot face him but now he is away please help Odysseus at least escape Ogygia! Send Hermes to bring the message and I shall go to help his son! The prophecy needs to be fulfilled!
Zeus: you speak the truth. Let us try.

Maybe the reason why yotsuba Light and pre-kira Light is so vastly different in personality (he's more 'genuine' that is) is because yotsuba Light had L that kept him from feeling that mind-numbing boredom that pre-kira Light experienced prior to getting the death note.
Pre-kira Light literally had nothing to keep him entertained and that he was too powerless to change the broken justice system, so he's more closed-off and serious, literally just living through the motions like a dead man.
On the other hand, yotsuba Light met someone who's not just on par with his intelligence, but also one insufferable enough to annoy him that never made any dull moment possible with L around. Aside from that, yotsuba Light is literally working alongside the world's greatest detective helping him solve the world's hardest case that involved the justice system, so yeah, yotsuba Light really will take L's side of "justice" because detective L is legal whereas Kira's actions are not.

Fanthful Ace Attorney Quotes
Fanthful is releasing another round of ace attorney merch, and this time, they're using quotes from the game. I localized as much as I could, but some of the dialogue was cut in the English version.
Tumblr media
Phoenix: Objection! This is clearly contradictory! Edgeworth: Thanks to you, I am saddled with unnecessary… feelings.* Apollo: Uh, the defense is, uh, is fine! Klavier: The law is not absolute. Mia: A lawyer is someone who defiantly laughs the more of a pinch they are in. Godot: Godot blend no. 102… It's on me. Trucy: It's because my magic panties are a microcosm! Nahyuta: Let it go, and move on. (Thank you @theinkhiddenwithin for localization help lol) Maya: You need to stop judging things based on narrow-minded cultural assumptions!** Franziska: A foolish fool foolishly dreaming foolish dreams… Athena: Leave it to me! Blackquill: "With humans, the key is to give up," they say.***
*I feel it would be remiss to not point out that the literal translation is "thanks to you, unnecessary feelings have revived inside me." ** Based on the infamous stepladder-ladder debate dialogue. Literally, she says "Let's look at more realistic stories." *** I haven't gotten to the games with Blackquill yet, so unfortunately I have no clue what he's referring to.

Prompt:     "I never said it would be easy."
Fandom: Fnaf Security Breach, The Other Side of Justice AU
Rating: G
Warning: implied criminal activity, mild arguing, non sexual intimacy, suggestive
The sound of the front door heralded his return.
"You're late again, Clip." You didn't look up from the dishes.
The familiar footsteps approching the kitchen faltered.
You weren't looking for a fight but hearing your own voice, there was no mistaking it as conversational. You took a long breath and willed your next words to come out more softly.
"You took another job didn't you?" It was a statement more than it was a question.
You turned to face him, your face pinched with worry.
Eclipse looked drained. His shirt was rumpled, the first few buttons undone and his sleeves rolled up to reveal smears of hastily cleaned up oil.
His, or someone elses?
You throw him a dishrag that's on its way out.
"You got a little something there." You said, without much humour.
"Where's Sun?" He asked, already looking down the hall beyond the kitchen.
"Sunny's still in the spare room, but I don't think-"
"He needs a new chip, and those aren't cheap. Two more and we'll have it for him. No loans, no nothing." He explained making to step around you.
Stepping into the mouth of the hall you braced one hand on the doorcasing.
"It's not nothing! Clip, we need to talk about this."
"Darling I know you don't like it, but Sunny needs this chip and honest jobs aren't exactly plentiful these days, especially not for my kind and..." Eclipse let out a sigh.
"Look, taking a few rough jobs ain't that bad." He smiled apologetically, reaching for your shoulder.
You stiffened, bracing harder against the doorframe.
"It's how you got picked up by a gang the first time, what makes you think you won't-"
"Because you're here," his words were sharp, though, seeing your expression he softens, " and I gave you my word... Please, darling. I just found them..." He gave your shoulder a squeeze his other hand coming to your waist, "I don't want to lose Sun over this, just because civillian work won't pay. I have rules about my jobs now. No hits, no affiliations, get in and get out and get paid." He was looking at you with the puppy dog look that no machine should be able to make.
"Eclipse, I know but-" you sighed taking his hands
"Just let me take care of them,they..."
"They're family." You finished a bittersweet feeling in your chest.
You had both been running for awhile. Three cities, 15 apartments and this was the first time you'd seen Eclipse make a connection beyond necessity with anything or anyone. You relaxed your stance in the doorway further.
"I-I just don't want you to be pulled back into your old life, you know?"
"I won't let that happen. We are far enough away and besides, once Sun is back on his feet, I'll go back to the docks and try again."
"No fooling?"
"Darling, never!" he bent to nuzzel your cheek, "I never said it would be easy. Just trust that I don't want that life if it means I lose you, okay?" He pulled you into an embrace and you welcomed it.
For awhile the two of stood there, holding eachother as the flat settled around you. The creak of the upstairs neighbours' footsteps and the dog down the street starting it's after supper barking. All of it muffled as you gently swayed in the comfort of one another.
"Eclipse?" You whispered, hesitant to break the spell.
"Mhmm?" He answered just as softly, running a hand through your hair.
You closed your eyes and leaned into him further with a sigh, staving off the matter a bit longer.
A siren started somewhere in the distance and you reluctantly pulled back, your eyes finding the spot just above his right shoulder.
"What if you ask Moon?" You felt his gaze shift down to you.
"Moon?" He asked.
You lifted your chin, turning to meet those golden eyes watching you.
"Well, he said doing anything but paperwork would be hard without Sun to watch his back...maybe?" As you trailed off, Eclipse snickered, his voicebox distorting it a little.
"You want me to play detective?" He asked incredulously.
"I-what? Just offer to watch his back!" The red on your cheeks brightened and a huff left your lips as he continued to laugh at your suggestion, "Come on, I'm serious!" You smack his arm and he stifled, just for you, "Clip, if Moon could keep completing cases, the payout would be a lot better and then you and him could get the chips just as fast, with nothing underhanded."
"Darling, I don't know that that's true...It would be interesting, though working with the cops has never been my specialty." He smirks and you run your hands down his arms and back up, his light of his optics brighten and dim with the sensation.
"You wouldn't be working with cops necessarily, he's a Private eye and you just let Moon handle them, eh? You could just keep him safe." You press you lips into a tight line before breaking out into the smile you'd been holding back, "D'you hear any of that?" You murmured.
Your big lug was a wire's width away from purring. Slowing to a stop you lifted a hand to his faceplate, cupping it just in front of his rays. Your thumb brushing over the details on his cheeks. He leaned into your touch, optics shuttered.
"If I say yes, will you come to bed?" He mumbled, tired static in his voice.
"Only if you mean it, trouble." Your feline smirk turned to a gasp of surprise as your feet leave the ground.
"Oh I mean trouble..." he growls, sweeping you up and heading for your shared room, "but fine, I'll ask him tomorrow." He nuzzles you and you can't help but giggle as the bedroom door clicks open, then shut.

The anti ecto laws go into effect just before S2E2 “Doctors Disorders”. So when Danny’s entire class, including Sam and Tucker, becomes sick with ghost flu and start exhibiting ghost powers, the GIW swoop in and cart all the sick kids off to a GIW facility. They claim the kids are all ecto contaminated and therefore fall under the anti ecto laws! And the GIW aren’t concerned with trying to help the kids get better. Instead they’re experimenting on them. Danny knows he can’t get into the GIW facility to rescue them on his own without getting captured. So he does the only thing he can do, he goes to the Justice League for help.
The Justice League, and the Justice Dark are all together in the watchtower for a meeting when Danny shows up. He’s an absolute mess because his friends and classmates have all been taken by the GIW. And he latches onto the first person in the room that he sees. Which just so happens to be Batman. Now Batman has a sobbing hysterical ghost child clinging to him! Everyone is super confused. It takes them half an hour to calm Danny down enough that he can explain what the problem is.
When they find out about the anti ecto laws and what the GIW have done they are all horrified and pissed!! They immediately set out to rescue Danny’s classmates. And if they just so happen to accidentally destroy the GIW facility along the way well none of them are to broken up about it. After the kids are all rescued, cured from the ghost flu, and returned to their parents, the Justice League sets out to get the anti ecto laws repealed. They reveal to the whole world just what the GIW did to a whole class of innocent human children while using the anti ecto laws as cover to do it! The whole world is outraged! It only takes two days for the laws to be repealed, and for the GIW to be permanently disbanded.
A few days later Danny Phantom does a live tv interview where he answers questions about ghosts and the ghost zone. He hopes that this will help people better understand ghosts and their true nature.

‘The rate of which I make art for AO3 fics in the library VS. the rate of me adding in new fics into the library’ makes an unfair battle. 12 pieces in and 90 fics (and counting) in store…. This is not a war I can win….
P.S. I make them simply to decorate my Apple Library with AO3 fics I like (self-indulgence). The drawing is dependent on my mood + what I felt like drawing/trying out, and the content of the fic. It is as subjective as it is NOT indicative of what the fic is like. I highly recommend you check the following fics out yourself.

its kinda crazy that yall will apply real world politics and situations to gotham when it comes to jason and his ‘vigilantism’, but never choose to take that angle when analyzing any other bat character’s
brother eye from batman? hello? does constant nonconsensual surveillance seem like an ethical way to keep an eye on supposed allies or stop crime in real life? does beating people up until they comply with u (under fucking duress) seem like the ethical way to produce testimonies and confessions?
but nah, one speech from jason in utrd and yall are up in arms about how nothing he’s saying is actually conducive to lowering crime rates.
at the end of the day, it doesn’t fucking matter who’s right and who’s wrong regarding these morals in real life because the dc universe is so fucking far from reality in the crime that the justice system has to deal with. there is no point in arguing a reality standpoint if its not going to be applied to vigilantism in the bat comics as a whole.
and on the topic of fiction, the willful ignorance as to how jason’s story also portrays a victims revenge/justice is just boring at this point. how are themes in a narrative not coming through to you. especially when doing literature analysis for any of these comics.
