Today a trans man that I've worked with for many years had the audacity to ask me why "all the hot trans girls" only wanna date each other after blatently making fun of me for a period that I went through before hrt where I was only ever wearing crop tops and short shorts.

Like gee, idk,

Maybe it's the fact that an overwhelming majority of other people consistently show incuriousness and subsequent disrespect toward how trans feminine people perceive and express ourselves.

Maybe it's the fact that even within queer and trans communities, we're expected at least a certain level of sexual subjugation; to the extent that exclusively dating each other is a perceived and acknowledged shame for certain folks who are not dating us.

Or maybe those of us in love are simply in love. I choose to honor this answer above all.

so glad im a lesbian because every time i feel bad about my transfemme body i ask myself "would i find this ugly on another woman" and the answer is always no. lesbianism beats the disphoria and stomps on its skull for good measure

im kinda encouraged by how i haven't seen discourse saying that it's bad that owen isn't played by a trans woman. which isn't to say there might not be valid points to be made there, but i think the role was well-served by not having the expectation of that conclusion or the sense that owen is notably feminine (idk if it was me but i think the movie visually emphasizes justice smith's adam's apple sometimes?) (and it can be complex to ask a trans woman to play a role in which she's supposed to read largely as a man). and casting an nb actor in the potentially-cis other lead role also combats the issue of employing only cis people (obviously also writer-director, some of the soundtrack, idk about other folks)

ace trans woman here. i kept reading that taking progesterone makes your sex drive go waaay up, so when I got it prescribed by my endo i was a bit scared it might unearth some hidden sex drive and i'd have zero idea how to handle it. that didn't end up happening (thank god).

no, what happened is my cuddle drive went through the fucking roof. within a few weeks it was very much an "i need someone to step into this warm basket of goodies and snuggle up with me right the fuck now" kind of situation, and this is where I've been for the past few years.
