One of the worst parts is knowing that they wouldn't delve into a main character for this, or to question themselves or anything. They did have several chances to be able to show appropriate representation for any character, including Devon (I can see her as a perfect lesbian representation).

But, focusing on the side between Demetri and Eli I can imagine them sneaking out to look for Miguel, the two of them maybe staying in a hotel where someone would ask 'good night to the couple' and Eli would wonder if it would seem so obvious something he tries to hide.

Anyway, the show follows them from 13 to 17 until now, this whole age mainly 13 is when we started having doubts and wanting to try things, and it was actually like:

"Do you think we can be gay or something?"

- No, forget about it.

"Okay, how about drinking, unnecessary female rivalry, parenting problems, spoiled children, karma and father-son pressure?"

- Wow! Of course yes!

I swear, I love Cobra Kai, but there are certain things that need to be talked about!

I thought that after Destiel I had learned my lesson not to ship male x male ships that have EVERYTHING going for them to go canon, except the will of TPTB of the show. And yet 🙃 

This scene! This scene really made me feel like they were setting them up as a couple this season (or that they were going to start building them up in that direction, at least). The way that Demetri just put his arm over Eli’s shoulders was sweet and it kinda put the idea in my head that these two might be the male x male rep the show is lacking (Cobra Kai has done an effort to be inclusive and diverse, and yet we don’t have a (male) gay character [that I’m aware of?? Do we have one??]). But then the girlfriends returned to them and I was like ??? 

I mean, I LOVE Demetri and Eli as friends; they have arguably the best friendship in this show, but two characters with so much chemistry, a solid relationship like theirs, in the year 2022, in a show that is making an effort to be inclusive, why wouldn’t they give this ship a chance to sail? I think it’s not a stretch to expect something more to happen between these characters, and in fact, it would be a shame to leave the possibility of them getting together untapped?? If it ends up not working out, this friendship can totally weather that storm. If Demetri was able to forgive Eli and accept him back after Eli broke his arm, I think them exploring a romantic relationship that ends up not working out won’t hurt their relationship one bit. And heck, a romance between them might actually be perfect. It totally would be! Imo. 

I just feel that every season of Cobra Kai their relationship kind of builds up/escalates and then nothing more happens? Like I get this vibe from them that the show is leading them to be more than friends, and then next minute they are acting super hetero (like “no homo” lol). 

Before, I admit I only saw them as best friends even though I did notice a “vibe” between them that made me think “these two are going to be the gay characters of this show” or “they are so going to get together by the end”, but since they ended up getting girlfriends + the show continued to keep them as friends (or enemies at some point, though I think they truly never stopped being friends at heart, obviously), I didn’t really think much of it/didn’t truly expect them to do anything more with them other than subtext or little tiny hints. 

Then during season 3 I had this feeling that the show was going to go in a different direction with them after all, and then season 4 at the beginning-middle I had this feeling that it was indeed going there with them and I started shipping them seriously. But then, they didn’t get together. At least not yet, but I do feel like the show had a good chance this season to build them up more in a romantic direction, and they kinda blew it by reintroducing the girlfriends, who were (finally) out of the picture for both of them as love interests (with Yasmine leaving the country and Moon having left Eli + dating a girl, with whom she conveniently broke up with so she could get back together wit Eli at the end *eyeroll*). I feel like Eli and Demetri ending up dateless for prom and ending up going together was the PERFECT scenario for them to have a solid moment, to push their relationship in a romantic direction and start building up some romantic tension/drama between them. When Yasmine showed up at the prom I was annoyed, but I thought “not everything is lost”, maybe Eli seeing Demetri with Yasmine at the prom would make him jealous and start to realize he has feelings for his best friend (great plot for a conflicted character like Eli, hello! Having yet another internal conflict of identity, and a juicy one like this, realizing not only that he isn’t straight, but that he has feelings for his best friend; it’s a conflict many people can identify with, too). But that was yet another missed opportunity! 

Anyway, I do think they still have a chance, if only because Cobra Kai is attempting to be inclusive and yet they have no gay representation. (Look, I’m glad Moon is bisexual rep, but it just feels like she only briefly dated a girl so she could be the bisexual rep and then quickly return to date a boy, which was for me really annoying Idk, it’s kind of “safe and convenient” rep when it’s done that way. That is another post for another time, though). Considering the show runner is aware of the ship, that tells me they know it would be well-received by a lot of people, too. I just think they have something really cool to tap into with a lot of story potential + meaningful representation for the show, and I just have no clue what’s stopping them. Or I do, but it’s kinda sad to think about it…

The Drunk Winchester Brother

His mom agreed and they went, just in time to leave the table Cal looked at M/n, the fold of his pants, the boys, M/n's moms and dad didn't know. But he went up for a few minutes. He opened the damn drawer and took out M/n's CD. The worst part about a monster is that he adapts quickly to society, so he just said he went to the bathroom and then pretended nothing happened. Meanwhile, M/n and Nate had four hours alone at home or in the car. But it would be a lot of work. After closing the door behind them, M/n was greeted by Nate throwing him on the couch and kissing his collarbone. M/n realized he was still serving him when he said 'stop' and obeyed. It would be easy to turn him into a daddy's boy and he'd pay for it. He would give him what he wants today and he would never have to do anything again.

The new school was horrible, and as much as M/n told his mother, she didn't believe him. After she remarried, the list of priorities grew. After a year together, his stepfather brought home two annoying kids. Don't get him wrong, he loves his stepsisters - sometimes - but they can be pretty annoying. This morning he wanted to pretend he was sick, the two turned him in. Last week he wanted to go out to see a friend, they turned him in. Honestly, at seven everyone else had to do. But it didn't matter, because now getting used to certain routines was the priority. Like leaving the house aimlessly and being bothered by pampering all day. It didn't matter, he just hoped none of the boys from his school were there, which unfortunately they didn't. "That boy doesn't study at our school? What's his name?" Miguel asked pointing to the table on the other side of the diner. "Newbie, nobody knows..." Demitri tried but was soon cut off, he didn't know anything. M/n stopped for a bit to breathe but Hawk grabbed him and went back into the kiss, a little tongue fight and some hands on his hips happened before remembering that they were on the sidewalk of a restaurant... and that there were people watching. "Passive aggressive, that's what you are" M/n chuckled, finally breathing. "Shut up" Falcão took his hand, opening a smile "come and look

for yourself, go eat with us". "Dinner with a stranger from my class that I just kissed, wow" they both got up and walked in, almost sitting on the table "wait, just one more thing". "Of course, stranger" he shuddered at having the other's body close again. M/n delivered the coup de grâce, kissing Hawk on the scar and making sure to do so in front of his friends, then putting his arm around his shoulders. Hawk stopped and smiled at them, then stuttered a formidable introduction.
