just. imagine looking out of the window, frowning in worry at seeing the snow gathering strength – unstoppable in the momentum, blanketing the streets with fluff. any other day you would've grabbed your jacket and slid into your boots to go outside, or perhaps melt into the soft cushions of the couch with a soft music playing in the background until you are reduced to this moment – soaking in the tenderness that comes with winter; a certain nostalgia that waxes and wanes.

but.

simon's still not back, and his only ride home is his bike. he was the one in charge of closing up the shop tonight, and you're certain that he's working alone late today – john's out of the country for a vacation, johnny called in sick, and kyle's visiting his parents – so it's not like someone can drop him off.

(although you know that if johnny or, god forbid, kyle were with simon, they would've brought their bikes too. bunch of hopeless fools, the lot of them.)

you nibble on your bottom lip, playing with it in worry, before snagging your phone from the table to shoot simon a message. you pray that he's not on the road yet.

but before you could type up anything, you receive a message from simon. it's just a little five second video, with a tag-along caption that reads, "i fell."

your heart lurches into your throat, lodging there as worry creeps up and engulfs you. you play the video, not realizing just how hard you are biting on your bottom lip until you had to gasp, blood beginning to rush back into the muscle. still, you ignore the muted throbbing, busy cataloguing simon in his video.

he's staring up at the camera, eyes furrowed, and you're sure he even got his lips pinched in disdain under his balaclava. you note how he's no longer wearing his helmet, and that feeds your rising worries even more. he shows you the snow-filled streets right after, then he pans towards his bike, showing you how the little thing is tipped over and crusted with melting snow.

the video cuts out just at the apex of simon's scream.

the apartment is filled with stagnant silence, not even your heaving breaths could puncture through, before a snort scratches at your throat, the sound creeping up unconsciously.

holy fuck.

you replay the video again just to hear the inhumane screeching at the end, giggling to yourself, before finally replying to him, "send your location pls. gon pick u up."

simon responds instantly, sending you his location – a stretch that's only ten minutes away from the shop – and adds, "my hero."

you send a kissy-sticker. simon sends you the thumbs up emoji and follows it up with the snowman emoji.

Batfam Reality TV show

Ugh FINE I'll tell you about my Batfam Reality TV show HC's okay? jeez... (nobody asked).

Before i yap, this idea has been swearving around in my brain like a wagon tied to a angry rhino for a while now. I can't remeber if i was inspired by other posts so if im accidentally stealing someones idea or someone has similar posts pls lmk so i can I'll tag them :). Also reminder that these are Head Cannons, if you don't agree then thats okay. These are just the senarios I play in MY head. (pls ignore all spelling mistakes, im lazy)

Okay, I feel like a reality TV show centred around the batfam would be so funny. Like, a bunch of self aware traumatized orphans hanging around in a mansion. The Kardashians but actually likeable, humble (well, it depends) and absoloute chaos, and not the "omg youre so chaotic lmao" but instead "Ah shit, someone is trying to break in to confess their love to Brucie again, someone call the cops" kind of chaos.

Bruce Wayne is the prince of Gotham. He has built Gotham from the ground up and he is loved by the majority of Gotham residents and even villains. In this cenario, Bruce's billionare playboy days are behind him, and works more like a tired dad who is just trying his best (good parent Bruce Wayne basically). He really has no idea how or when most of these people became a part of the family but is just happy they're there. Mabey Selena Kyle /or Clark Kent could be a side character and there could be a B-plot where Bruce is panicing about proposing or something. Is chronically reading the newspaper. Bruce is also the type of parent to really try to BOND with his family. Puzzles, games, trips, picknics, lgbtq+ merch ect.

Dick Grayson lives, and even has a key to the city of Bludhaven but still visits home regularly. There is an on-going gag where Dick always talks about longing for a relationship but when sees his ex'es while out and about and turns 180° and hides. (its my HC i can do what I want. Dick is a terrible long-time boyfriend, okay).

There is also a scene where Dick makes fun of Tim for being emo (he was just on his phone) and the rest of the Batfam in their one-on-one interviews show pictures and share horror stories from Dick's 'Hot topic, MCR, stealing dads car, eyeliner, youre not my real dad, ugh' phase from his teenage years and a screen shot of Bruce Wayne holding up a picture of Dick with a joint hanging out of his mouth becomes a meme format. Another clip that went viral is a home video where Alfred is scolding Dick for staying out late and he goes "UGH" and backflips out of the room. It cuts right back to Dick where he is smiling and hugging Damian being all ":D".

Jason Todd is thought to have been dead by the people of Gotham for years but as the season progresses, can be seen more and more often in the backround like walking into rooms while people are giving their one-on-one interviews and slowly backing out, or him just walking past a room, or as soon as the camera crew enters a room Jason makes eyecontact with the viewer and just turns around and leaves. There was an intstance that sparked a lot of controvercy online where Roy Harper came to the mansion looking for Jay and the batfam just stared at him, looked to the camera crew and then looked back at him. He swiftly left after rambiling about his terrible grief. (nobody bought it)

They all grew lazy nearing the end of the season and Jason just sits at the dinner table with everyone there, the camera never focuses on him and nobody mentions that he IS actually alive and is sitting RIGHT THERE. Jason just covers his face with his free hand while he eats and can just be seen in the backround while people talk. Jason says something and the camera turned to Bruce, and the editors, very poorly, tried to make it seem like Bruce was the one talking when it was obviously Jason.

In season two of "THE WAYNES" Jason finally joins the cast and admits in a one-on-one interview that he is, in fact alive and that its not a big deal (they make up an excuse and say that he just didnt like papparazzi/had a brain injury or something so he faked his death). This is never mentioned again.

Duke Thomas lives in the manor and was adopted by Bruce (again, its my HC i can do what I want). Duke is the moral compass and seemingly the only one that actually does their own chores. He is constantly just staring out into the madness that is the rest of his family since he is one of the newer member of the family. He, along with Tim are the only ones that can cuss out Bruce without reprocussion. Damian gets kind of jealous of Duke becasue Alfred the cat seems to like Duke a lot, and Dami is afraid of Alfred the cat choosing Duke as his new favorite person. Duke is extremely aware of this and shoo's Alfred the cat away and pretends to not like cats when Damian is around (to soothe his soul a bit).

Tim Drake is also one of the few members of the family that actually lives at home. Tim is a skater kid and Ipad kid at the same time somehow. He is also the ONLY person in the manor (Alfred excluded) that Bruce doesn't scold (it would be weird, since Tim basically babysat Bruce after Jason died).

Tim and Bernard Dowd start dating during the filming of S1 so there are a lot of scenes of Tim freaking out because Bernard is coming over and of the others making fun of him for looking into every detail of their interactions and overthinking them (was that a romantic gesture or not??). Bernard finally makes an appearence where he gives a short one-on-one where he introduces himself. Bernard quickly rose in ranks in terms of the internets white boy of the month (the TikTok edits went hard).

Cassandra Wayne was also legally adopted by Bruce and is his little princess (she is highly dangerous). She changed her last name from Cain to Wayne, bc i feel like she sees the Waynes as her real family. She looks nice enough but once the audience gets to know her they become aware of her insane competitiveness and how she has everyone in the manor wrapped around her pinkie. She dominates in board/video games and is the only one that can convince Alfred to get take out. Cass also practices ballet and is selectively mute and uses ASL most of the time (i just like the idea of her being SELECTIVELY mute, okay).

She is dating Steph (ITS CANON IN MY EYES). Cass, Tim, Bruce, Alfred, Damian and Duke are the only actual residents of the Wayne manor, the others just come and go like its an open buffet.

There is a scene where Cass, Steph, Tim and Bernard all sit on the couch and tell the camera crew that, "well yes Steph and Tim used to date and didn't get along for a while but now we're all friends". "Steph is tecnically dating her ex's sister but its not that complicated, REALLY". "Well yeah, Bruce conciders Steph a part of the family but its not weird or anything guys I PROMISE". "Well yeah actually, both Tim and I realized we weren't straight during our relationship. Why?" Cass and Bernard also get along really well but Bernard doesnt know any sign language and has to rely on others to translate/ Cass has to write thing down for him (they talk MAD shit).

Stephanie Brown. Damn, how the fuck does she keep get in? Sometimes Steph just sneakes into the manor to watch TV or to raid the fridge, while texting her girlfriend, Cass about how much they miss each other when Cass is litterally just upstairs and they're both too lazy to move. Bruce offered her a key to the mansion but she just responded by saying "nah its more fun this way". Steph is constantly accused of being a gold digger within the home and she doesnt deny the claims but its obvious that she does genuinely hang around because they have all become a family to her (found family basically, ugh im such a sucker).

Damian Wayne is still young so there is not a lot of scenes going into his personal life like at school and stuff but he is still there a lot. Anytime Damian says something socially strange or offputting, the others just chuck it up to Damian being a little weird sometimes teehee, or just tell people to not mind him because he is kind of new around there. Meanwhile, Damian speaks in a very professional and sophisticaded way which creates conspiricy theories among viewers about his upbringing, ESPECIALLY because Damian said something in passing about being raised in a secret mountain society.

The camera crew caught a glimpse of Damian in the yard casually accomplishing amazing feats with a giant sword and then immidietly stopping dead in his tracks when he noticed a wild rabbit in the garden. Keen viewers also noticed this strange phenomenon where Damian somehow wins every argument EXCEPT for when its with Alfred.

(I both love and hate the idea of Damian being a spawn of satan in everyones eyes. It can be funny sometimes but in my universe, Damian gets along well with everyone. Sure Damian is crude and weird but he's a kid, and i want him to have a supportive family that understands why he does and says the things he does. I basically just want Damian unapologetically being a kid.)

Alfred Pennyworth is an interesting person for newer fans of the Wayne family, since he is practically unknows to the public. Alfred introduces himself as the only butler in the Wayne manor and a long time friend of the Wayne family. Viewers quickly realize that Alfred is really the man of the house and it becomes previlant when he goes on a short weekend trip (with a secret girlfriend perhaps, Maggie Page perhaps) and everything falls apart. Bruce doesnt know where he is supposed to be at any given time, a hirearchy is established (Cass is a very unfair leader) and the only person making sure the others are fed is that mysterious figure in the backround (Jason).

Alfred makes it sound like he is only the butler but the rest of the batfam all talk to/about him as the essential part of the family that he is and how he is everyones badass, british, grand papa, dad, butler- babysitter-cook, friend thing.

Barbra Gordon is another unofficial member of the Wayne family. She is always over for game and movie nights and just in general. Barbra and Dick used to date but are on really good terms (suprisingly). Barbra is especially close with Jason, Cass and Dick, and is kind of a mentor/cool older sister figure to the others. Sometimes Jim Gordon visits as well, since he and Bruce are fellas.

In the opening scene of the first episode, the batfam are asked to make a family tree or list of sorts since there are so many of them and Barbra was the only person who remebered that Jason was supposed to be dead (nobody bought it).

This will do FOR NOW. I wasn't be able to fit everything here so ill prolly make a pt.2, where i tell yall abt some silly situations that would take place in a Wayne reality TV show. This is more like an introduction into the convoluted storyline that has been building up in my head (what else am i supposed to do at work?).

I also want to state that Leslie Thompkins is also concidered a family member to me since she is like a surrigate mother figure to Bruce but she won't be hanging around the manor as much as the others.

Ik i skipped a lot of characters that are concidered to be in the batfamily but even I dont know who IS concidered to be in the BatFam atp or I skipped characters that i just dont like/think about as much bc im shallow like that lol.

ALSO ALSO im not a huge BatCat or SuperBat shipper but i just felt like them being in the family dynamic would be interesting. Timid ol' Clark or the HBIC Selena Kyle. I also didnt include friends and stuff that would prob be at the manor all the time too like Roy, Wally, Jon, JLA, TT, YJ ect. blah-blah-blah you get it, I'll stop yapping now.

Byler/Style parallels,

OK since the Stranger things S5 trailer dropped (no I haven't watched it nor will I, I don't watch trailers at all) and getting into South Park abt a month ago I noticed some similar vibes between Style and Byler. (please don't bring other ships into this discussion I don't care if you don't ship one or both of these just ignore this post) (this MAY be another long one lmao I'm passionate abt these gays lmao)

this is another long one lmao, get a snack and hear me out.

like they aren't EXACT parallels but they have similarities, not just cause they follow a similar trope (best friends to lovers/childhood friends to lovers) but it's also how they just kinda remind me of eachother (I can very clearly picture the Byler rain fight (the one from S3 where Mike says "it's not my fault you don't like girls") but with Style) and yes it IS partly cause of the trope but we also have one who kinda has an on and off relationship (Stendy and Mileven (again please keep shipping wars out of this I don't care abt your opinions. this is just me Yapping) and yes Mileven is on and off to me cause we have not actually gotten a full season of them together and Happy cause in S3 El dumps Mike and in S4 they are barely together) and his best friend who doesn't really have luck with relationships and if I'm not wrong both ships have had moments in the shows where they've been called Gay (pls be nice if i'm wrong I'm not done South Park yet and I haven't watched Stranger Things since 2022 but yk I can remember gays lmao (plus tiktok has brought stuff back up to me lmao ST is all over my fyp rn)

back to parallels both ships are clearly the closest duo of the main quartet of the Show (there is no doubt about it, like the Quartets are all friends but Mike & Will and Stan & Kyle are closer than the others. (though this isn't me undermining other friendships but I'm focusing on Byler and Style ok and this isn't also me saying that the other duos in the quartets being alike I'm just using them as a parallel that Byler and Style are closer than the other 2 are (or any other duos within the 4)

and genuinely I'm trying to look at this unbiased but I can't FULLY do that, like I'm trying to NOT have Headcanons influence this and I'm trying to keep to things in the canon.

now onto some stupid details I saw people point out on tiktok mostly.

so any Stranger Things fans with eyes and who actually watches the show (Especially Bylers like myself) know that Mike has a habit of looking at Will's lips (I PROMISE THIS IS GOING SOMEWHERE I SWEAR) I was scrolling the Style tag on tiktok a couple weeks ago and I saw a vid or slideshow that Stan does the same sometimes and that's the first things that started the Byler Parallels for me (and yes IK that SP came out first but i watched ST first)

(this is like the only SCs I can find of this spesific scene (S4 Vol 2 Van scene) so it's I THINK from Twitter? idk I found them on google cause yea I'm not on twt) and the usernames are in the Scs here

and the one on the left that says "his ass was not listening" is so real for Style too, like to my knowledge Style does also have interactions like this (the one that stands out to me is the one in the bathroom from that one ep where Stan makes that Anti Bullying vid (I could be wrong lmao, I HAVE watched that episode but so many of them kinda blend together for me, and I see this scene on TT a lot) that scene gives the same energy as some of Byler's scenes (especially the Van scene)

and both Byler and Style have had their friendship fallouts, Byler with the S3 rain fight and S4 until El is gone (I won't get into the implication of those scenes for Byler proof cause like every other Byler fan has done that lmao) and Style has times where they end up drifting apart (standouts are the ep where they end up joining that magicians Cult, Guitar Queer-o or Assburgers) but (especially after the Cult ep and Guitar Queer-o) both end up coming back together (though I'm not a million % sure on style cause again I'm on S21 rn but I THINK they're still close after AB) but their relationship (even if it's just as fiends) has changed. Byler has more Romantic undertones (especially after the S3 rain fight cause of what Max says about Mike running to her (El) for forgiveness while Mike runs to WILL instead, and S4 is a whole other story I kinda do wanna go into Byler as an entirely separate thing without comparison to another ship cause I wanna talk abt them a lil more and go more into depth there) and Guitar Queer-o reminds me a bit of the S3 rain fight (not 1:1 but hear me out) cause though not as fast Stan still goes back to Kyle like how Mike went right to Will and not his gf (are you noticing how I'm placing lots of parallels between Stan and Mike here? yea there's a reason for that) and after Assburgers Style seems to talk less than they did before (again that is slightly influenced by stuff I saw on tiktok about it so it might not be 100% correct (again feel free to correct me on any of these little things I've gotten wrong but please be nice about the ships)) like how after Will moved to California he and Mike drifted apart and one of the first one on one interactions Byler has in S4 is the Rink-o-mania fight.

It’s been about a week or so since the littlun has been going to school, and he loves it. Sure he did start going a year late, but he blended almost immediately, heck he was one of the smartest kids in the school. “Pretty please daddy~” Kyle begged as Riki frowned “No means no, it finishes late, I don’t like the idea of you staying outdoors so late!” Riki reasoned as the boy frowned. “Babe let the boy kick a ball if he wants to, parents can watch too you know?” y/n said as Riki frowned at her. 

“It’s too risky, Yeonjun is still out there somewhere breathing the same air as us.” Riki warned, the seriousness evident in his eyes. Y/n wrapped her arms around his waist and she was up on her tiptoes, pressing a soft kiss on his neck “Baby… Kyle wants to do sports after school, it’s only 1 hour long, and you can watch over him” y/n explained as she softly drew circles on his chest with her finger. The male put on a tough act, though inside he was about to explode due to the butterflies fluttering with him.

“Since you asked so nicely, Kyle can go… but I’ll be there.” Riki said as the boy smiled, hugging Riki tightly. That’s how Riki found himself, at 3:30 pm, sitting on one of the bleachers as he watched his son practice little things that prepared him to be extremely good at football. “Hmm.. that's your son?” someone suddenly asked. Riki didn’t even look in the man’s direction “5 years huh…” the man added as Riki turned to him with a frown, his eyes immediately darkened when he saw the man in a pretty expensive suit, another expensive tiger-skin fur coat over the top of it.

“We meet again Nishimura...” Yeonjun simply said with a smirk as Riki glared at him “You have some balls for showing your face to me y’know?” Riki pointed out as Yeonjun just chuckled. Riki turned back to watch Kyle running, just ahead of the other kids. “Ah look at him, already practicing what to do when I finally decide to end your family” Yeonjun snickered as Riki ignored him, cracking his knuckles. “If you’re man enough to fight me, I dare you to at least try and lay a hand on my family.” Riki threatened with a smirk, knowing full well Yeonjun surely will target his wife and the baby. 

“Daddy daddy did you see me? I was so fast!” Kyle said as he ran to Riki, sitting beside him as he took a sip of his water. “Who’s this uncle?” he asked, a little out of breath “An old friend of your dad’s… what’s your name little boy?” Yeonjun asked as Kyle smiled “I’m Kyle-” he simply said, sitting on Riki’s lap, as Riki wrapped his arms securely around the littlun. ”Hi Kyle… well I need to go now so bye-” Yeonjun simply said as he left. Riki smiled down at Kyle and hugged him.

Upon arriving home, Riki felt an unsettling feel creep up on him, seeing how y/n was on the phone, talking to a doctor, “Kyle go to Uncle Heeseung’s room…” Riki simply said as the boy ran to Heeseung, Riki approached the girl with a frown, as she bit her nails. “Ki we need to go to the hospital now…” She said shakily as Riki held her wrist softly, “why? What’s happening? Why do you look so distressed?” Riki asked as the girl hugged him tightly, crying. Oh boy how he wished a miracle would happen now. But who was he kidding? God was just never on his side…

The male was running after her as they entered the hospital, her hands on the large window as she stared at the empty incubator where Yeseol once was. Riki was talking to the doctor, just behind her, as she stared into the room. “I guess some things are meant to happen for a reason right?...” She asked, as she turned back to Riki. The male smiled, rocking the little baby “I guess so” he said, kissing y/n’s forehead as she softly touched the baby’s hand.

A/n: so I got an ad for this poncho and got an idea

You had been spending time online while the boys planned out what to do with the van when you saw it.

You knew it was going to be cold when you were traveling through the country and while you knew it was probably going to be the stupidest thing you’ve ever bought, you knew it would be useful.

It was a ridiculously huge hoodie that was almost part blanket. It was ugly and you knew it. But it looked so comfortable and warm, before you knew it you had already hit check out and now all you had to do was wait for it to be delivered.

The van was finally done and your package had finally arrived. You took it out of the box it came in and felt just how soft it actually was. You decided to try it on.

“What the hell are you wearing?” Ethan had not been expecting to walk in to see you wearing what he could only describe as a blanket poncho.

“A hoodie… or blanket,” you yourself weren’t quite sure what it was.

“Babe, I love you but it looks ridiculous.”

“Hey!” While you agreed with him completely on that, you didn’t want him to say it.

“Sorry, are you packed?” He apologized through a laugh. “We’re leaving in the morning.”

“Yeah,” you took it off and folded it before placing it at the edge of the bed.

“Love you,” maybe teasing you about the hoodie wasn’t the best idea.

“Mhm,” you nodded your head.

“Babe,” he knew you weren’t really upset with him but still.

“Love you too.”

With that Ethan left to go help Grayson pack what they could into the van.

The next morning you woke up to Ethan shaking you awake and made your way to the shower while the boys filmed. While you were going with them, you weren’t really going to be in the video, just in the background.

You were taking the back row the boys left up. Kyle has offered his spot in the middle of the bed and while it was a kind gesture, you weren’t about to make the tallest one cram themselves onto the backseat. You were able to fall asleep just about anywhere so it really wasn’t a problem for you.

After everyone had loaded their stuff in, you found yourself just laying in the back with Ethan while he slept. Occasionally you would chime in on what conversation the boys were having in the front but for the most part you just laid there, appreciating the ride.

When it was finally time to get some rest the boys set up the bed in the back and you threw down some blankets to be more comfortable. You had no idea why the boys thought it would be a good idea to stop in the middle of Colorado during winter, but you had to work with what you had.

The boys fell asleep fast and it took you awhile because of how cold it was. Then you remembered what you packed. You grabbed the ugly blanket poncho and put it on, immediately feeling warmer.

Once you were warm, you were out.

You woke up to the sound of the boys complaining how cold they were and you sat up from your spot. You stared at them without really saying anything. You yourself didn’t really have a problem with the cold.

The boys looked at you and saw how not miserable you looked and how well rested you were. Well, rested enough for the two hours you got. Ethan came over and grabbed your hands, thinking you would be cold but was surprised at how warm you were.

“Why aren’t you… you brought that thing?” He finally noticed you were wearing the thing he had mocked earlier.

“Not so ridiculous now is it?” You said smugly. Standing up the stretch, you saw Grayson eyeing the hoodie. You knew he was supposed to drive first but you also knew how cranky he could be when he was tired.

“Wanna borrow it? I’ll drive for a while,” you offered.

“Are you serious?” Ethan couldn't believe you didn’t offer it to him.

“No, it’s okay,” Grayson declined.

“Grayson, you’re mean when you’re tired,” you ignored Ethan’s glare from the side. After taking it off you handed it to Grayson who slipped it on and immediately felt your lingering warmth.

Despite Grayson not having any romantic feelings towards you at all, and knowing damn well you were with Ethan, he could have sworn he would marry you on the spot from how much warmer he got. He threw himself back down on the bed and was out.

You moved to the drivers seat and started the GPS while Ethan sat in the passenger seat.

“That’s fucked up,” he commented as he looked back to see Grayson asleep looking warm.

“Could’ve been you if you didn’t make fun of it,” you shrugged.

“Are you serious?” He didn’t think you were actually mad about it.

“I’m just saying, you thought it was stupid. Grayson didn’t say anything so he gets the weird poncho.” While you weren’t mad at him at all, it really was about not wanting to deal with a grumpy Grayson for the whole day.

Throughout the day Ethan got over it and the poncho was passed around from person to person. Ethan had to admit it was really, really, warm.

Night came around and as much as they didn’t want to, they gave it back to you to go to bed. The boys were complaining in the back and fighting over the blankets so they could get warm.

Someone got up and you heard footsteps coming towards you.

“Can we share?” Ethan appeared next to you, pillow in hand and looking completely exhausted. You took off your blanket and hoodie and stood up.

The two of you managed to fit into the poncho and pulled the blanket around yourselves.

“I’m sorry I said it was stupid,” he apologized again.

“It’s okay, really. It kind of is to be completely honest,” you let out a small laugh.

“Can you two shut up so we can sleep?” You heard Grayson yell from the back.

“I get why you gave it to him first,” Ethan admitted at hearing his brother complain.

“Shut up!” Grayson and this time Kyle yelled.

The both of you let out one more laugh before he wrapped his arms around you and you fell asleep, both of you completely warm in the best thing you ever purchased.

have you read the gossip blog lately ? apparently, a GIGI HADID lookalike was seen strolling across campus with their DANCE textbook. but nah, that’s just KAIA ZAMAN, the TWENTY year old JUNIOR, i’m sure you know HER. they’re mostly known as THE SANGUINE because they’re very SILVER-TONGUED and INTREPID but also RETICENT and GUILELESS.

so kaia was born and raised in chicago, illinois, the only child her parents ever had due to a few factors — one of which being that it was incredibly hard for her mother to carry a child + rushed into an emergency hysterectomy right after kaia’s birth, so she was their rainbow baby

her parents did everything in their power to make kaia as happy as they possibly could since she had been everything they’d wanted for so long, so whether it was letting her watch another cartoon before bed or enrolling her in dance classes at the age of three after a full-fledged obsession with the nutcracker reached its pique, they pretty much granted her any wish she could’ve possibly had

at age four, a few nights after christmas, kaia and her parents were on their way home from dinner, taking a road that was pretty notorious for collecting black ice in the winter and got into a really bad accident, and this cost her both of her parents

so in her father’s will + due to a lack of any other eligible family members, kaia was left in the custody of her uncle ( dad’s younger brother ) and it was...disastrous, to say the least; daniel had pretty much resigned to a life of forever being a bachelor and fucking around and now he had a four year old niece that he was expected to raise???

her uncle was a trashbag with a few shreds of decency (driven by guilt) in him — he wasn’t going to dump her into the foster system but he sure as hell didn’t want anything to do with her ! so in true trashbag fashion, he just decided to completely neglect her, pretend like she wasn’t there and hope she’d get the hint, and it took her a while to figure this out?? kaia was a sweet kid who went from having a shit ton of affection and love to being ignored and treated like she was a nuisance, and it fucked w her head at four years old

she wound up raising herself; all her uncle was good for was giving her a place to live, making sure she had clothes on her back and food in her stomach, and putting on an act when people gave a second glance their way. the only time he really wanted anything to do with her was when he could benefit her somehow, like keep one of his girlfriends around ( they all found kaia adorable and daniel ‘admirable’ for stepping up ) or when it came to the $$, her parents had left her a little but daniel pretty much absorbed it and took it for himself, to throw more parties or buy booze or play sugar daddy to one of his hookups?? like i said, trashbag

kaia and her uncle were roommates at best, and that was pushing it — she struggled a lot with the neglect internally, and her way of coping was to push it down, push it down, suppress with a smiling face and act like all was well. daniel was enough of a decent person to let her continue with the dance lessons which she absolutely adored, dance was her Everything, and by the time she hit high school, she started teaching classes at the studio she learned at in order to make some $$ that daniel wouldn’t take for his own

the older she got, the more she’d fight back a little against daniel and they had their fair share of fights ( which usually ended in daniel saying something to shut her down entirely and she’d scramble away ) but even despite that, sHE NEVER GAVE UP HOPE ON HIM...?? like, kaia always gave him the benefit of the doubt even though he’d proved himself time and time again thAT HE DIDN’T DESERVE IT

to her it was v black and white, she didn’t understand why tf he wouldn’t just get over himself and be a Family ( daniel is Where she gets her stubbornness tbh ) but despite having a little resent towards him, kaia never ever stopped hoping that he’d wake up one day and they’d start being a family and she still hasn’t bc optimist in the highest degree

when it came to college, kaia knew if she didn’t get out of chicago she was literally going to be sick, there was just smth about the loneliness there that made her skin crawl ( she also hates the winter now so she had to get as far away from snow as possible lmao ) and so she was like “alright i need a college on the west coast and w my dance major”, found crawford, and it was Settled

anyways, now that the tragic backstory has been #unlocked...onto kaia

she’s the sanguine, which basically means bitch is a ball of sunshine, which she is — there’s no such thing as a stranger in her world, she likes constantly being surrounded by people ( bc she gotta make up for being lonely all those childhood years, thanks a ton dAN ) and making new friends and going out, she just loves people and people usually love her, she knows how to reel them in and keep them by her side, girlie will do Anything

she flat-out refuses to see the bad in people, even if it is staring her in the face, and this is where her stubborn nature comes in to play?? you can’t tell her anything, once her mind is set on something there is no hope of ever talking her out of it, she’s got to come to her senses on her own and even then it’s usually too late or she diminishes the impact of it?? she’s rash and got bad tunnel vision so it’s p clear where disaster lies w her

has the unhealthiest coping mechanisms on the history of the planet, tbh; she thinks the cure to everything is putting a smile on and acting like it’s not a problem and while that works when one fails a test, it doesn’t work w everything and she’s just forced so much pain and depression and anger down that it is Bound to come right back up at some point, so basically homegirl is a ticking time bomb

kaia’s also a people pleaser, she’d literally give you a kidney if you asked, which makes it easy for people to manipulate her?? and she doesn’t always see when she’s being manipulated either?? and won’t always stand up for herself when she’s being treated unfairly??? she just likes keeping the peace if at all possible

blurs the line a lot between doing things because she can and doing things because she feels an obligation to so she doesn’t let anyone down

ever since her parents died, she doesn’t like to give anything a second-guess — if she wants to do something, then she’s doing it, because it may not come back around again or she may not have the chance to. is the Definition of living in the moment, which is nice in theory, but kaia is v bad at compartmentalizing so it’s easy for her to get off track or ofc do things that will come back to bite her

dance is life, i’m not even gonna go into detail on it bc this is long enough already and like.....it’s just her whole world, ok, moving along

she wants everyone to let her in but she very rarely returns the favor, which is why i gave her the reticent trait?? she doesn’t tell people about her parents or her uncle, doesn’t let people see that iceberg of emotions underneath the surface, she acts like if it doesn’t exist then it doesn’t as far as anyone’s concerned???

girl is one of the greatest friends you could ever have but is a piece of work when you think about it, tbh, so that being said come love us !

“ky/lo r/en [...] is a main character” uhhh ya, he’s the main fucking villain i know he’s an important character, he’s just not a protagonist!!! thats all this meme is saying!!!!! he’s an antagonist, i literally acknowledged this in my caption on the original post but op conveniently left that out, and honestly even if he redeems himself, he’s done enough to qualify as an antagonist, like v/ader isnt a protagonist even tho he redeemed himself...and we dont even know if he’s getting redemption, like there may be evidence supporting it but theres also evidence against it and tbh its worrisome to see how delusional some ppl are (this is abt both sides of the argument tbh)
