Hey, here’s a concept. What if we stopped saying “but autistic people CAN do all those things” (erasing high support needs) and instead started saying “not being able to do those things doesn’t impact someone’s value as a person nor does it make it okay to commit eugenics”.

You might be more than one. You might be different ones at different times. 🫶🏽🫶🏽 you might not be one of these. There are more roles 💪🏽 but this is an amazing intro.
You can’t just like the idea and envision yourself in one of these roles you have to figure out how to be about it ♥️🫶🏽

Effective communication is essential for all individuals, especially for those working through behavioral challenges. Behavioral programs are designed to target communication deficits and improve overall interaction skills. Applied behavior analysis in Pinecrest, Florida has proven to be an effective way to develop communication abilities in children and adults facing these challenges. By focusing on specific behaviors, ABA therapy can significantly enhance how individuals communicate with others in everyday settings.

Selecting the right speech therapist is crucial for individuals seeking effective communication support. In holistic healthcare in Texas, it’s essential to find a therapist who not only understands the complexities of speech disorders but also takes a comprehensive approach to treatment. Look for professionals who incorporate various strategies tailored to the unique needs of each client, ensuring a well-rounded and effective healing experience.

While I was selling my art at a convention last weekend, I suddenly had a vision in my mind that I just had to paint.

In these horrible times of trans rights being stripped away in several countries, I wanted to celebrate lgbtqia+ in all forms, as well as Doctor Who for its firm support of the community 🙏
Hopefully, I'll have stickers and prints ready for my final market before summer 🤞
Painted with acrylic and gouache colours 🎨
Edit - see my reblog for information on stickers/prints 🫶

Putting books on hold at the library has the same thrill of ordering books online, but with the added benefit of not losing any money over titles I might not enjoy.
10/10 would recommend.

Sometimes love is finally getting the courage to give flowers to the girl you like, because you found them growing in the meadows and they reminded you of her, wild and beautiful and free
Tumblr media
Sometimes love is choosing to smell oniony for the day rather than telling the boy you like that you recognise the flowers he's picked for you

Pedro Pascal posts in support of the trans community:
“I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist.”

Since autism acceptance month is coming up in April (I know I’m very early), shout out to all autistics and disabled people in general who:
Can’t get out of bed, leave the house, feed themselves, use the toilet, or perform other ADLs without assistance. I see you and you are not gross or weird or lazy or broken. You deserve a good caretaker.
Cannot communicate in any way. Like even AAC doesn’t work for you effectively, so someone else might have to speak on your behalf.
Can’t hold down a job, stay in school, or live independently.
Isn’t a savant, isn’t skilled with their special interests, or can’t do anything without immediate access to their special interests.
Has an intellectual or learning disability.
Has level 2 or level 3 autism that can’t be masked away so that you’re pretty much visibly autistic.
Has disturbing intrusive thoughts. They don’t define who you are, your actions do. You’re not a bad person for having intrusive thoughts; you can’t control them.
Experience delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thinking, or any other psychotic traits. You’re not crazy or scary, and you’re welcome into this space.
Dissociate, have amnesia from trauma, have gaps in your memory, have an identity or personality disorder, etc.
You’re worth it, hun. 🫶🏻

I don't see enough people mourning over the slow death of physical media. And I don't just mean TV shows, video games, or movies--which don't even get me started about how we don't really 'own' anything anymore. It includes notes, journals, and letters to one another...so much of our history is lost when we lose a password, a website goes down, a file/hardware is corrupted, or a platform disappears. History that doesn't seem important until you no longer have access to it. Physical media does a lot for memory recall. How many memories will we lose because we don't have something tangible to tie it back to? Something to hold in our hands and stir up those memories we thought were once lost? Sometimes I wonder what the difference between burning a book and losing access to physical media is when someone can pull the plug and remove your access so easily.
