The thing about Andrew and Kevin is that even if Andrew talked about Kevin all the time and had some kind of feelings for him, Kevin was never going to have those feelings for Andrew. I think Andrew understood that the passion Kevin had towards him didn’t go any deeper than wanting him to play to his full potential on the court. The reason Andrew and Neil worked was because Neil cared about Andrew on a much deeper level than Kevin did. This isn’t to say Kevin didn’t care about Andrew, but he didn’t care about Andrew the way Andrew seemed to care about him.

the only reason tangle isn’t a bigger menace and threat than she is, is because she doesn’t want to hurt people.

she’ll bash up badniks and robots and stuff no problem, and doesn’t mind sparring! but anything that could go towards actually hurting a real person? no way.

she definitely has the ability to do a lot of damage, but that’s not something she has an inclination to do.

she lived through the Forces war - but she stayed in her hometown, where she knew she could trust and rely on every neighbor around her, and didn’t have to deal with unknown agents and treachery. she may have faced death - but she wouldn’t have had to face killing, at least not someone who was a threat.

as opposed to whisper, who signed up specifically to help take down and kill eggman, tangle’s here to help people - and to her, that doesn’t include killing. she cares about whisper so much, and that’s part of why she doesn’t want whisper to have to kill mimic - tangle sees killing as the most wrong awful horrifying thing someone can do, and if SHE killed anyone, she would agonize over and regret it forever. she assumes whisper is the same - and doesn’t want that for whisper in addition to whisper’s own grief. doing her best for whisper in her own way, from her own experience - you might judge that a bad choice, or bad encouragement, but it comes from a good place. if mimic were already dying, or it came between mimic and whisper, i’m certain tangle would pick whisper, and let mimic die. but doing it *herself*, personally, is the line.

This episode means so much. Beyond my VIVID imagination. It was the episode that confirmed - like for real confirmed - that Roy and Jamie are something. Roy was in anguish and didn't know where to put it (I mean personally I'm sure he knew exactly where he wanted to put it... boom). But it wasn't until Jamie expressed how excited he was to spend a wild night in Amsterdam that Roy acted.

Maybe it was a bit of jealousy at the thought of Jamie getting drunk and hooking up with someone. Maybe all their early morning training sessions taught Roy that Jamie was the right kind of person to spend time with when you're emotionally distraught. Maybe he just wanted Jamie all to himself and faked a training session to get him off the bus so he could spend that night with him without all the others.

But Roy and Jamie had some honest moments of connection together. Roy allowed himself to be vulnerable and let Jamie teach him something for once. Jamie became the Dad figure and the Coach and then destroyed all our hearts with that traumatic reveal. These - even the awful things - were beautiful, beautiful moments that - like everybody else's moments - transcended sex. The beautiful moments between Rebecca and her Dutch guy. The connection between Trent and Colin. The team finally having their pillow fight, y'all. Ted, connecting with all the reasons he needed to go home to his son (and accidentally inventing Total Football 45 years after it was first invented).

Don't get me wrong. I love the episodes that show us AFC Richmond on the pitch, doing their thing, and I love the episodes that bring it back to soccer but this episode lives in my heart and it will always be my favourite.

when u realize every mean and nasty thing said about women (women will die alone w 4 cats if she doesn't settle for whatever lame ass broken loser proposes to her first and lower her standards, women fall in love too fast, women open their legs to any Chad that walks in the room and ignore the Good Man Who Just Happens To Be Ugglieee Right Next To Her, women are too emotional, women have shallow friendships women lose value as they age) is false for most women but very true for weak men ur eyes start to open and u become free.

bc only weak men who:

have to settle for whatever women MAYBE picks them bc they ain't shit and their standards are way too high compared to who they actually are as people,

can't control their emotions and fall in love w the first woman that glances at them,

try to have sex with any woman who he finds hot and gets offended when 1. she turns out to be batshit crazy and has major self esteem issues so she was using him as a validation toy or 2. her standards are higher than Him, and then blames her for her desires rather than working on himself to become a man who can match the kind of woman he says he wants (but doesn't want to work for, not realizing that a woman like that REQUIRES at BARE MINIMUM a man who busts his ass for her and dedicates his life to her well being)

have no emotional control because the realm of the emotions is forbidden to them by their pride and they haven't explored the Feminine aspects of their psyches

^ due to fear of losing bro points with equally immature loser bros who sit around trying to impress each other while flexing their muscles and circle jerking about how cool their cybertrucks are or whatever,

are definitely losing value as they age bc they don't work on themselves to become Grown Men and only place value on outer qualities not inner growth,

and realizing this is how you raise your standards for men and the kind of men you surround yourself with. because you're not the kind of woman to hang out with crazy immature babymen. so why bother yourself with fools any longer?

i just finished reading someone's annual self-assessment form, which was so obviously AI-generated that i went to copilot (the tool our institution pushes), plugged in the review questions with some basic instructions, and had it immediately spit out virtually the exact same content this person had sent to me. then i came to tumblr and read this post, which so perfectly sums up the experience of reading AI-generated text. the words make sense. they form sentences that convey some basic information. but my brain just sort of slides over the sentences without absorbing anything, because nothing real or substantive is being communicated. it's nothingness. it's white noise text. it's empty calorie content. it fills space without conveying anything all about what the person believes, who they are, what makes them tick, what their little expressive quirks are, how they see and make sense of the world. it depresses me so fucking much. and 'slop' is the perfect word for it. it's just slop. it's horrible. it's such a waste of my one wild & precious life to read this shit and to have to engage with it like it's something this person really worked on, instead of something a computer spat out for them in .02 seconds so they could get back to scrolling social media.

from his own distant memories of her as his mom when he was little and she was still alive, to the ones from the nest where they probably just saw her as one of the founders of exy and nothing more, and finally to palmetto, where he could get to know another part of her from the hand of someone who loved her and knew her as an adult, his own father.
