today im thinking about nat being sober for the majority of her time in the wilderness and even as we see in the spring when they have access to berry wine and mushrooms still choosing not to drink or get high. and then leaving the wilderness and immediately turning back to drugs and alcohol. did she start getting high again to get as far away from all memories of the wilderness as she could? because everything she wanted to forget in the wilderness she remembered and felt with full clarity because she was sober the whole time ? and even then, just the feeling of being sober becoming its own reminder of everything she experienced?

What is with this revisionist history The Umbrella Academy is trying to do with Klaus and Allison’s relationship? At one point Allison says to Claire that ever since they were kids, Klaus gets into trouble and he always calls her to bail him out but than has NEVER been their dynamic before this season.

I can’t recall Klaus ever asking Allison specifically for help for a drug or non-drug related issue. (If I’m wrong, someone please comment and let me know.) In season 2, when Klaus visits Allison at home she even offers him a drink though she knows he’s a long suffering alcoholic. Which is fine — I’m not knocking Allison here. It’s pretty realistic for her to be so exasperated by her brother’s addiction that she washes her hands of it or be straight up an enabler. Those are both pretty realistic reactions and could’ve been an interesting facet to Allison’s character, if the show had bothered to be consistent with it.

It’s also fine for Allison to take Klaus in, possibly out of guilt for her actions in the season 3 finale, and then suggest they developed this codependent relationship as a result of that. But to act like Allison has always been the long-suffering sister of an alcoholic and drug addict who manipulates her is both untrue and a disservice to both their characters. Stop trying to gaslight me, show!! It won’t work!!!
