as far as christian-themed art goes I'm of the opinion that you cannot meaningfully appropriate mainline western catholicism (it's a massively powerful branch of a religion that has been spread by imperialism and that actively seeks out converts as a core tenet. how could you appropriate it?) but that it is possible to engage with it shallowly and that that's fair game to make fun of. I will not be taking questions at this time

DICK GRAYSON ── .✦
Absolutely adores your tattoos. He finds them mesmerizing and often asks about the stories behind them.
"Wait, this one—what does it mean? And this one? You gotta explain it all to me!" He’s so genuinely interested it’s adorable.
Loves tracing his fingers over them absentmindedly. It’s his favorite way to relax, especially after a long patrol.
If you’re open to it, he’d love to get matching tattoos with you. Something small and meaningful, like a star or an acrobat silhouette.
He’s always hyping you up. “God, you look so cool! How did I even land you?”
JASON TODD ── .✦
Finds your tattoos ridiculously attractive. You’re like a walking piece of art, and he can’t stop staring.
“Another one? Damn, I’m gonna run out of compliments if you keep adding masterpieces to your body.”
Appreciates the rebellious vibe that tattoos give, but loves that yours are deeply personal too.
If you designed any of them yourself, he’s in awe. “Wait—you drew this? Babe, you’re a genius.”
He won’t admit it, but he’s been low-key considering getting a tattoo himself—something to match or complement yours.
Loves running his hand over them, especially while you're cuddling. He’d act cool about it, but he’s secretly obsessed.
TIM DRAKE ── .✦
At first, he might be a little shy about it—he’s not used to tattoos or the culture surrounding them.
"So… do they hurt? Like, a lot? Or just a bit?" He’s curious but hesitant to admit he’s interested.
After you explain the meanings and the artistry behind them, he gains a deep respect for your tattoos.
He’d geek out over the symbolism if any of them are literary or historical references.
Secretly thinks you’re the coolest person ever. Your tattoos add a boldness and confidence that he’s drawn to.
If you ever wanted to get another one, Tim would offer to help you research the best tattoo artists.
DAMIAN WAYNE ── .✦
He’s intrigued but tries to act indifferent. “Tattoos are superficial… but I suppose these are aesthetically pleasing.”
Secretly, he’s fascinated. He’ll examine your tattoos closely and ask about their meanings when he thinks you’re not paying too much attention.
If any of your tattoos are animals or nature-related, he’s deeply impressed. “A bunny? You’ve chosen well.”
Will jokingly criticize any tattoo he doesn’t like, but you know he’s not serious. He secretly admires all of them.
If you tell him you’re getting another one, he might suggest an animal that resonates with your personality. "Perhaps a panther would suit you."
Low-key, he’d be jealous if anyone else commented on how cool your tattoos are. He doesn’t like sharing your attention.
BRUCE WAYNE ── .✦
At first, he’d be a bit taken aback—it’s not something he’s used to, and he’s very traditional.
But once he understands that your tattoos have personal meaning, he respects your choices completely.
“You’re a work of art. Literally and figuratively.” He means it sincerely, even if it’s cheesy.
He might not be entirely comfortable showing off your tattoos in formal settings (Wayne galas and such), but he would never ask you to hide them. Instead, he would encourage you to flaunt them confidently.
Secretly, he’s fascinated by the process and would love to watch you get a tattoo one day, just to understand it better.
If anyone makes a rude comment about your tattoos, Bruce would shut them down instantly with his trademark icy glare.
RANDOM CONVOS WITH THEM THAT WOULD HAPPEN ── .✦
with dick
Dick: “So, if I get your name tattooed, does that mean I own your heart forever?”
You: “Only if it’s spelled right.”
With jason
Jason: “If you ever get a tattoo of my name, make it small. I don’t want to be embarrassed when you dump me.”
You: “you think I’ll dump you randomly?”
jason: “who wouldn’t, I’m a high maintenance guy.”
With tim
Tim: He accidentally zones out during a conversation because he’s staring at a detailed tattoo and trying to figure out the design.
With damian
Damian: “Tt, if I were to get a tattoo, it would be far more impressive than yours.” You: “Damian, I literally have a dragon sleeve.”
With bruce
Bruce: “Do all of these mean something? Or did you just think they looked… fashionable?”
You: “Some are meaningful, but yeah, Bruce. Some just look cool

I’ve been thinking about it all day and one of my biggest problems with Hazbin Hotel is that it’s not a “new creative take” on Christianity. It’s ignorance mixed with projection.
It’s not a criticism of Christianity because it doesn’t show true Christianity!
It shows angels taking delight in slaughtering sinners when the Bible says that angels weep when someone is lost to Hell.
It makes this big show about angels not knowing what gets someone into Heaven when the Bible tells you exactly what you need to do in the New Testament age, the age we are currently in.
It shows the devil as being “a dreamer” when he’s just evil. There is not an ounce of good in that guy!
The ignorance comes from Viv using the Lesser Key of Solomon, which is not canon to the Bible.
The projection comes from the angels being the bad guys and not wanting any of the sinners to get to Heaven as if they do not rejoice when someone gives their life to God and weep when someone turns away from him. The whole show feels like how Viv wants this stuff to work.
The whole thing is not sacrilegious, it’s the sign of someone who, at least to me, is broken inside.
i’m sorry for the late reply, i rlly hope you see this, but if not this is smth i wanted to post about eventually so I hope it can reach ppl.
i appreciate you coming to me with this ask, as a Christian myself Hazbin’s portrayal of my faith is a topic that means a lot to me. I sincerely feel like Hazbin Hotel makes out Christianity as if it’s mythology. But it’s not. People’s religion is not mythology for others that don’t follow it and do little research to toy with. I would say Hazbin’s biggest insult, even above how the angels are portrayed, is Lucifer. I hate a lot of characters in Hazbin, but Lucifer is by far the worst of them. THIS IS THE LITERAL DEVIL, THE EMBODIMENT OF EVIL, AND HES BEING PORTRAYED AS JUST A GUY. HE WAS LITERALLY SUPPOSED TO BE A NEGLIGENT, TERRIBLE FATHER. CHARLIE CRIED OVER HIS NEGATIVE OPINION OF THE HOTEL, YET HES JUST A GUY TRYING HIS BEST AND HE HAS DEPRESSION AND HE LIKES RUBBER DUCKS AWW HES SUCH A CINNAMON ROLL 🥺
Point is, you’re right. You really are. I truly wish that Hazbin never went down this heaven vs hell rabbithole, bc it’s just an insult.

I saw an early screening of the Mean Girls movie last night, so here is a summary of my thoughts, comparing the movie musical to the Broadway musical, which I was lucky enough to see live in 2018!
Changed that I liked:
The usage of social media in the Broadway show made it very clear that it was written by adults who didn’t know much about Gen-Z. It was probably one of the worst parts of the show in my opinion. But Tina Fey must have done her research since 2018, because the way the movie uses TikTok, memes, vlogging, and FaceTime to push the story forward worked VERY well. I think there were some influencer cameos, but it didn’t feel they were included to show how “young and hip” they were, It actually added authenticity.
The diversity within the cast and changing last names to reflect the characters’ backgrounds (Karen Smith ➡️ Karen Shetty, Janis Sarkisian ➡️ Janis 'Imi'ike)
Cutting down “Meet the Plastics.” It’s a very exposition-heavy song and doesn’t need to be super long, even though the full version is quite catchy and fun.
All of the new jokes landed so well, probably because Tina Fey’s writing style is better suited for the screen as opposed to the stage.
This is more of a comparison of the musical vs. the original film, but a big change was The Plastics’ weaponized wokeness (which I talk about here).
The production design for most of the songs was very different. The stage musical has a lot of rock songs, which were changed to a pop sound for the movie. I personally prefer rock musicals, but it was a good way to give the movie a separate identity from its predecessor so it doesn’t risk becoming a carbon copy. It worked on some songs (“Someone Gets Hurt” and “World Burn”) but not on others (“A Cautionary Tale” and “Revenge Party”).
Cutting the joke about Regina’s ass being big. It was a very low-brow joke, which I’m not a fan of, and was just really immature. Thank God that was changed to her falling, which still shows her being embarrassed without her body being the joke.
Explicitly making Janis a lesbian! (It’s only implied in the stage show with “It’s not even true… I only have one butt”) And she goes to prom with a girl while Damien dances with a boy! ALSO THERE’S REJANIS LORE AND IT’S SO HEARTBREAKING I LOVE IT
megan thee stallion just… being there
Miss Norbury and Principal Duvall being a couple and owning a dog together!!!
As a low mezzo, I appreciated whoever decided to lower the key for “I’d Rather Be Me.” I felt very represented 🩷
Having Cady be raised in a single-parent household so it focuses in more on her relationship with her mom. Jenna Fischer was so motherly and sincere and brought a warmth to the movie. Their scene together near the end made me emotional (you’re never too old to ask your parent to stay with you until you fall asleep) (also this is my request to make jenna fischer my mom)
Changes that I didn’t like:
Cutting BOTH of Damian’s solos??? (SHE’S LEAVING!!!!!!!! JUST LIKE MY DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Cutting “More Is Better.” It wasn’t necessarily a memorable song, but it did give both Cady and Aaron more depth, both as separate characters and within their relationship.
While cutting some of the songs helped with pacing, cutting HALF of the score made me forget that it was a musical sometimes, which sucks because I really like musicals!!!
Other stuff:
The movie was marketed horribly. One of my friends didn’t even know it was gonna be a musical because there were no songs in the trailers 💀 (Also, this isn’t just a Mean Girls problem. The Color Purple also didn’t have any songs in the trailer. I didn’t even know Wonka was a musical until I saw it in theaters, so that was a bit of a shock.) If you’re producing a musical movie, maybe your focus groups should be musical fans, because that’s still a HUGE market.
Auliʻi Cravalho’s voice is STUNNING! She and Jaquel Spivey had great chemistry and their friendship felt so genuine!
The opening and ending transitions from the garage were everything to me
The EDITING
Angourie Rice is a great actor and fit Cady perfectly… except for her singing. Out of the entire cast she was easily the weakest in terms of vocals and it was pretty disappointing since she’s the LEAD. I could barely hear her in the new song “What Ifs” because of how quiet and breathy she was. I think it’s a better written song compared to “Roar” though.
Jon Hamm cameo!
Ashley Park cameo!
I cannot stress enough how funny this movie was. I was probably laughing louder than everyone else in the theatre.
I lost my shit during “Meet the Plastics” when Regina unzipped her jacket and Cady was staring at her boobs. She’s just like me fr 🏳️‍🌈
I know that Regina is a horrible person but I couldn’t find it in me to dislike her in the slightest. She just served too much cunt 😩
Christopher Briney is a good actor, but I don't think he was the right choice for Aaron Samuels. I would hate to ridicule anyone for their looks, but it still plays an important part in casting. Aaron is supposed to be a somewhat naive, wholesome, hot jock (and Regina has high standards, so he better be a fucking model). Briney is definitely a cutie, but gives off “smoldering badboy with a secret sensitive side” energy, which isn’t what Aaron should be.
The fantasy sequences (Stupid With Love, Revenge Party, October 3rd). I LOVE when movie musicals USE the medium to tell stories in a way that they can’t on a stage!!!
THE CHOREO!!! Everyone freezing then shaking in “Someone Get Hurt” AHHHH that entire number was HYPNOTIZING!!!!!!!!!!! My friend told me the choreographer’s name is Kyle Hanagami, so shout out to him. (also reneé rapp was so fucking hot while singing that oh my lord)
I will be calling my pimples “face breasts” from now on (avantika ilysm)
DAMIAN’S FRENCH COVER OF THE ICARLY THEME SONG 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
why was there a 0.5 camera shot of cady during revenge party 💀
“I’d Rather Be Me” was so much fun and I felt so fucking empowered. And the transition from the song to the bus was just *chef’s kiss*
“donut worry i am still your freend” 🥺
Lindsay Lohan cameo!!!!!!!!!
NOT ENOUGH RENEÉ RAPP 😭
Overall, the movie was not perfect, but the Broadway show already had plenty of flaws, so it’s understandably how that would affect the adaptation. I still a LOT of fun and would definitely see it again. Go stream Snow Angel by Reneé Rapp. i love women 🥰🥰🥰

I think what most people usually get wrong about Yuuji is that he isn't dumb, just inexperienced. I think he's pretty smart to catch onto some hellish situations very quickly.
How would you say his emotional intelligence measures up? Compared to someone like Gojou or Megumi? Nanami? Kenjaku?
I could write three different essays on what the bulk of this fandom gets wrong about Yuuji and still have material for more essays, and yes, the "lol he's so dumb" characterization is one of them.
In terms of normal academics, he seems to be unremarkable—struggles with certain things (he's failing molecular biology, if I'm remembering Gege's comments right) but puts in decent effort and keeps his head above water. But a lack of book smarts doesn't indicate a lack of intelligence, and time and time again in canon, Yuuji proves himself to be perceptive, adaptable, and generally capable of grasping and applying key concepts in sorcery. For the most part, he seems to learn best by seeing and then doing—Divergent Fist manifests and is refined during spars and then actual fights, while he manages (and matches Nanami's record in) Black Flash while in a highly dangerous combat situation. But it's only a few months later that he reads, understands, and utilizes Yuki's personal notes on souls and cursed energy—and I sincerely doubt she wrote those with easy comprehension in mind. Those are the research notes of a special grade sorcerer on a highly complex topic, and Yuuji, with just a month to prepare, got good use out of them.
Calling Yuuji dumb isn't a matter of interpretation—it's just plain wrong. There are absolutely characters in canon who are smarter than Yuuji, including among his peers, but that doesn't make Yuuji stupid, even in comparison.
As for emotional intelligence, I'd rank Yuuji above Gojou and Megumi, on par with Nanami by the end of canon, and below Kenjaku. Kenny's over a million years old, and while other people's emotions are mostly chess pieces to them, they're clearly skilled in perceiving their own and others' feelings. Who knows, maybe Yuuji inherited that from them. Can't see it being Jin or Wasuke. Given Yuuji's age, the way he handles emotions is particularly impressive—there's much food for thought when it comes to how that aspect of him will evolve as he ages and matures.

Good day!
I am a white woman of a certain age and when I was growing up in the Seattle area, the word for this hairstyle
Tumblr media
was always "dreadlocks", shortened by people my young (at the time) age to "dreads".
For several years now I have noticed I never see "dreads" or really even "dreadlocks" anymore. It's locs.
I'm not confused by the verbiage, I've never not understood what "locs" means, but I do still inherently think of the style as "dreads" first, simply because that was formative for me.
Is this shift just a living language thing, where common usage just replaced one term with another? Was my experience regional, and only in the PacNW were they ever called anything other than locs? Is "dreads" actually racist and I've just never been exposed to the information that I should have been in that regard?
(And if so, I sincerely apologize for its use in this ask and mean absolutely no disrespect)
As an addition to this question, I did try to look it up myself first, but Google is such ass now (or I just couldn't get the right search terms for seo to yield results) that I couldn't find anything useful on it. I did find WAY too many pictures of white people with this hairstyle, and an overabundance of sales pages for white hair extensions in some variation of this style. I wonder if that's common, or if it's just because Google knows I'm white and the search results reflect that. Either way, it was obnoxious that I had to word my searches extra specifically to get Black hair in my results.
Thanks for all you do!
To answer your questions in not the right order:
1. It's both. You are white, which means the things you research are probably going to be more geared towards an algorithm that fellow white folk use. They gotta advertise to you!!! And, Google is just racist. It's why I try to convince people on here that you have to get specific with your searches and use key words you find to dig deeper to reach what you want. Because if you just type in "Black hair styles" you're still gonna get a lot of white people and AI. It's obnoxious ASF and always has been. Can't just toss your hands up at the first wall.
2. It's a cultural thing, trying to reform the imagery of the hairstyle, a sort of reclamation if you will. I've mentioned in prior lessons that not everyone is going to get up in arms if you say dreads or dreadlocks. I prefer locs. It's mainly because saying dread has a connotation that my hair is dirty, nasty, uncared for. People, often white and in positions of power, hear dreadlocks and they think weed and tangles and lazy stereotypes that just aren't true. So it wouldn't be racist if you called someone's locs dreads, but it would be racist if they told you "I prefer locs/please say locs because-" and you said "well when I grew up it was dreads" okay well that's not how I identify them, so.

let's talk about the lupins for a second!
starting with hope, the whimsical/charming woman who met her knight in shining armour sort of in woods and fell in love?? who literally introduced her to a whole new world? before delving into the horrors, I would like to point out how romcom-esque their encounter is. its fateful but also lyall letting her believe she encountered a scary man and he saved her just cause he can't fully explain boggarts but also cause "yay! she thinks I'm macho!!" (would pay to see him and james potter interact!!!)
hope along with lyall builds a new family with their lovely son and it all seems low-key like a happily ever after only for her son to go through something so traumatic it'd alter all of their lives forever. I sincerely believe the nuances of wizard identity are lost to hope to certain extent. in the sense that, she might not fully empathise with lyall's complicated outlook to this predicament. not to imply she is simple minded at all but because it is easier for her to compartmentalise uniquely magical bigotry. there is also the other route where she has integrated herself somewhat into the world and is having trouble herself facing this new reality and protecting her child. I just think of how powerless she might feel not being able to do magic in those moments. especially when her boggart was said to be a vicious looking man, greyback obviously fitting the descriptors. there is also the implication that she was ill as a result of her constant fear and worry over remus and I don't want to explore that for me being a little pussy reasons.
then we have lyall, a true embodiment of the "what if it happened to your family member?" scenario posed usually to conservatives. he worked for the authority to dehumanize werewolves and antagonize them to an extreme only for his young son to bear the brunt. It's the guilt he might feel for being responsible - maybe there is some added hatred due to resentment - can he sometimes not stand to look remus? not just because what role lyall played, but because of what remus became? is he coming to realizations too late about his ideologies, or does he believe in his misconceptions more than ever cause the harmful creatures he said would harm, did harm? does he "you're not like other werewolves" remus into oblivion?
lyall is so interesting to me and actually important to the entire marauders arc and hp series in a way 😭 a fundamental worldbuilding character tho, conveying politics of the world.
lupin parents had to travel and move, essentially giving up their personal lives forever from the moment remus turned. they had no social life for themselves most likley (at least until remus went to school), had to provide for their son while they also struggled maintaining jobs. misinformed, bigoted and desperate, they also made their son a test subject just to "fix him." (i think there are folks better equipped than me to explore the implications here and parallels to conversion therapy? the conversation has been happening in the fandom space tho) they had to lock up their little boy every month knowing full well it would hurt him and that they can't do anything to help him. they had to leave him alone.
after hope dies and remus moved out, lyall is alone alone in his cottage. he wasn't mentioned being in the order (im not sure if he'd be too old to join or if he died by then, so correct me if im wrong.) he either become a jaded man or just lived his days quietly. and if we can assume some of remus' characteristics onto him, probably believes he deserves this life for the part he played in what happened to remus.
hope and lyall as the parents who belive that if remus tried hard enough, he can overcome his ailment and be normal. after all, he is smart, is friends with smart kids, is gentle and mild-mannered, and dumbledore only has good things to say about him, assuming they ever discuss remus. there is not much research into lycanthropy, so, i can see them have a stance most people have on mental health, along the lines of- "remus you know this will happen every month. try to cheer up," sorta bs. doesn't mean they are abusive. just that they aren't the best, like many parents.
I don't like it when marauders parents are so one note, happy go lucky will go along with anything or downright military etiquette parents. especially when the mom's are presented as only soft sweet warm, as if one toe out of the line means they are bitch- actually that's a whole other rant. I'll shut up.
at the same time, i don't want this one incident to define them entirely. maybe they come to terms with it slowly because with each year at hogwarts, remus comes back happier. especially since his 5th year, he is coming healthier too. he is getting good grades, maybe there is hope for him to live that neoliberal fantasy, after all. the first werewolf at school could easily become the first werewolf with a job? who knows!? maybe then hope and lyall can travel around for fun now or fully settle down in their cottage after sm travel during remus' childhood. maybe they invite neighbors for dinners, maybe they receive the marauders for lunch one sunmer, play the normal adults, the normal parents of their normal child.

For the record guys writing an actual book vs writing a fanfiction actually isint that different but the important key thing to note is you have to write what you love and of what you love
dont worry about audience dont worry about trends , dont worry about people who dont love what you make, focus on writing what you love. Youll write a whole lot more and you'll be writing something you considered worth writing, and that makes it a whole lot more worth reading.
and it will be *fun* You can absolutely casually write books for funsies and not because youre desperately trying to get a book published
I've written like, three last year. And each time it took like, two weeks? make an outline of your idea, fall in love with your characters and world, make it something you could research and discuss for hours, write a bit each day and have a clear idea of where each chapter is going and what your end goal is. you'll reach it eventually.
i started this hobby dreaming of being able to just write *one* book one day once in my life
Now i can casually pick up a new book idea and have it done in under a month. Why? because i practice and i have a lot of freetime admittedly but its primarily because i kept writing every day (AND HAD A CLEAR GOAL OF WHERE I WAS GOING and knew about what to expect, its really really hard to reach the finish line if you have no idea where it is-)
you can write 50,000 words in a single year by writing about 140 (a bit under actually) words a day. and you can write it a WHOLE lot faster if you write more than that. (personally i've managed to write that many in 3 days at my top speed but please do NOT try to replicate *that* i had like pain for weeks and tingling hands after, please do not look at that as something to look up to, that is not a flex, that is a warning , im pretty sure the maximum safe number of words you can write in a day is about 5,000 and if i go over that much the tingles come back in my hands, so like, be careful please. if youre really digging into writing and you find its super fun you will have to be careful and take breaks and be cautious about your health ive wound up ADORING writing but like, you can go too far and get injured)
the whole tldr is: writing a book is not that hard really
but you gotta believe in yourself
you've gotta respect your own wishes and chase the things that make you happy
and youre gonna make it way harder on yourself if you put it on some giant pedestal
authors arent special supernatural creatures that create worlds, theyre humans
and one of the coolest skills us humans have is the ability to create worlds. *all of us* have that ability.
i believe in you
and for the record it took me several years to write my first book-
my second book took 6 days
my third took 3
oh frick ive written four books, sick
okay my fourth book? that one i freaking paced myself like a sane person and finished it in like two weeks which i think is pretty sick and i didint approach my danger threshhold of 5,000 words
and that i think is about the pace id like to go with my books in general frankly-
why am i capable of this? because im not worrying so hard over if im being cringe, because im letting myself be self indulgent, have fun, and letting myself become my own biggest fan. Sincerely please have fun and stop thinking so hard about your audience and stuff, please go have fun my friends and try to treat writing as a hobby first and other things later
yes even if you want to do it for a career
especially even because then your audience will be made up of people that actually have the same interests as you and actually like the things you like and then you get to write for people who like your specific weird little brand of writing
please, authors get stuck in a genre if they write too much in it , write what makes you happy or youll feel increasingly obligated to be stuck in one genre
im probably super super privledged to be able to say all this and i KNOW i am to be able to have the time to spend as long as i personally do on writing, but the truth is is that whether you do all those hours in one day or spread out over the course of weeks and months, youre still gonna get those words in and what you write will still be just as worthy of love and admiration as the works of any other and its gonna take the same number of hours regardless of if you do it in a day or a year (like i get it i can write fast but the real reason i got it done so fast is just i have way more free time than average and was able to write for 6 hours a day, unrealistic for most people as you can imagine)
this is not meant to be a ohh lo ok at me i can write so fast and i can write so much thing because im also the same person who spent over 5 years trying and failing to write one book and feeling overwhelmed because i thought writing was this impossible magical dream on a pedestal and it turns out no its like, just like really fun if you dont panic so hard about rules and regulations and popularity and pleasing an invisible audience.
I'm saying this because i thought it was this impossible thing
im saying this because i really truly want to live in a world where people write as gleefully about their ocs and worlds theyve made up the way they write fanfictions
you can worry about cleaning it up later for now just make sure you actually make something you love enough to find joy in creating it.
im just a little weirdo who fell in love with writing
i really hope maybe this can make you less scared of falling in love with writing
and reassure you also that **writing fanfiction is just as real of writing as regular writing and is part of what taught me how to actually have fun writing and writing about what brings me joy**
and that your work, no matter how short or long, original fiction or fanfiction, first draft or thousandth, is legitimate and yes you can complete it, youll be okay, and even if you dont, youll only psych yourself out if you turn it into a giant mountain to climb
the old tale of the tortise and the hare still shines true
slow and steady wins the race.
(i say this especially as a hare, because i could keep running without a break but ill get freaking injured, even those who can be hares must rest if they want to reach the finish line, and unlike in a real race theres no set time you need to do this in, theres no deadline, all that matters is eventually reaching the end)
youve got this
youre doing great
and please keep writing, but do so for fun, without shame, without judgement, and without comparison. there is no room for self judgement and shame in a happy life, and please, compliment yourself, own your achievements, be proud of yourself.
and if you can, please comment on here or reblog telling me about your project and what youre doing right now to work on it
celebrate your achievements, and celebrate each others achievements in the comments.
no shame. no judgement.
*no self deprecation allowed.*
self deprecation is not a virtue and you will never know how bright you could shine if you snuff out your own light the second you dare consider it might exist at all.
so get in there and brag and if youre up for it or dont have anything youre able to share just yet, tell us what you love most about writing or favorite tropes! :3 have fun! love you guys!

hope this request is okay! could you do hcs for Daniil (and maybe Lara if it’s possible?) with a reader/partner who has ocd? (More so issues with compulsions and anxiety not anything cleaning/germ related lol) I found your one for bpd and really enjoyed! How respectfully you handled it! You’re one of the only fanfic writers I’ve found who honestly writes that kinda stuff with the proper weight! It’s really nice to see since all I usually can find it yandere stuff in relation to bpd
also what do you think about Anna possibly having ocd? She’s a canon germaphobe but she reads to me as having cohort bpd and ocd!!
With a partner who has OCD

He's the type of person to be driven by what he deems as logic, reason, and proven methods. Oblivious to his own emotional motives at times, although, it doesn't make them any less real.
It creates a conflict at first, between the two of you.
His attempts to rationalise your anxiety are in vain, only serving to further frustrate. This isn't a foe that can be bested by sound reason. It never plays fair.
He's merely repeating the same logical arguments you've already used against the irrational fears, only for it to feed off of the attention. Making things worse, and in turn confusing Daniil himself as he struggles to understand why these things which usually help ground him down, aren't having the same effect on you.
It doesn't matter what the thing itself is, how big or small, a part of your brain insists that you halt your entire day just to immediately attend to it. Demanding your attention by force, a nonstop recording looping in your brain all day long.
Be it from simply glancing down to make sure you're wearing the same pair of shoes, or stopping halfway through the street and digging out your keys to read the number printed on the metal and make sure it wasn't magically swapped by a different pair of keys.
These thoughts weave themselves so seamlessly between all your other daily thoughts, adorn a mask of urgency, and make themselves seem as real as the sun in the sky during that specific moment.
They mark themselves as a need, you need to do this, otherwise the consequences will be catastrophic, and you need to do it now, otherwise your entire day—if not life—will be ruined. A cruel part of your brain makes it seem like you'll lose everything in a moment of carelessness.
So you give into the urge and do what it wants just to stop from feeling physically ill, from all-consuming anxiety attacks, to escape this fake reality that somehow enclosed you into it while you were none the wiser.
But it doesn't stop there; the cycle repeats at a later time with a different thing.
Daniil doesn't comprehend this right away, it takes him time to come to the grim realisation that he was only adding to your misery, worsening your state, encouraging the obsessive thoughts by attempting to rationalise them. Those arguments never lead anywhere, only harming you in the process.
Insisting on his version of events, that his word alone should be enough to erase all of your doubts, unaware that those were thoughts and feelings outside of your control.
The Bachelor takes it up in stride, fully admitting to his mistake, no arguments, no making things difficult, no denying of what happened. A sincere apology, not empty words and flakey promises.
And so he does the only thing he knows in time of need, he studies, researches about what ails you, consults colleagues who specialise in psychology, dusting up the old books they let him borrow.
Completely turning towards a different approach, his previous methods were flawed. It'd do no one any good to keep clinging to them when all he ever wanted from the start was just to understand you.
Daniil's self-aware when it comes to his comforting skills… or lack thereof. Reassurance hasn't been one of his best skills.
What he is good at, however, is putting on the air of being in control, of seeming capable, and knowing he is. During his brief years of working in healthcare before he established Thanatica, his confidence seemed to comfort his patients on its own, convincing them that they're in reliable hands, and allowing him the benefit of the doubt at every turn.
Whenever you get the compulsive urge to check on the state of something, like a stove being left on, or a water tap left open, Daniil offers to do it himself instead.
He's reliable, you agree, don't you? So let him do it, don't give your compulsion the satisfaction of having things done its way and its way only.
Informing you that he'll take full responsibility if the worst really comes to be. Since he already went to check the thing your fears have been pestering you about, if it really turns out to be in a dire state, then it'd be his fault and not yours.
You're not the one who left the stove open since Daniil walked back home, saw it turned off with his own eyes, and came back to tell you.
And if the house really does burn down, oh well, then it means he's in urgent need of an eye prescription. It's not your burden to carry anymore. It's his, at least, not yours alone.
He'll take the fall and deal with any consequences that may follow. You'd be reluctant to trust him the first time around, and he'd do his best to help you go through the day, offering distractions, sharing the latest news in his work with you, slightly violating patient-doctor confidentiality as he tells you about that one time a patient bit his finger 6 years ago.
Just to take your mind off things, playing the long game, knowing that consistency is the key here.
Because when it's the end of the day and the both of you return to a still standing house, your faith in him will slightly increase. And the next time he goes to check something for you and informs you about what he found, you'll have an easier time accepting his words.
Daniil abhors lying, you know that, everyone knows that. So when he says he really did the thing in your stead, you know he's telling the truth.
If this was the modern world, he'd be the one taking pictures of the state of the household just to prove that no, you didn't forget anything. It has become a daily task he never neglects, Daniil is very consistent with following through and doing what he's supposed to do.
Learning how to effectively diffuse situations, how with given time, and some rest, those fears aren't as big and scary as they first seem.
How to bring you down from a fit of anger, how to lift you up from a panicked state caused by debilitating anxiety. Using his knowledge and expertise as a healthcare professional, after all, and dealing with people in similar states is nothing out of the ordinary for him.
He's aware you're not the one he's arguing against. He's aware these thoughts and urges do not define you. You're not your obsessive thoughts or compulsive behaviour, not the intrusive ideas or the clouding fears.
You're so much bigger, so much more complex, lovely, thoughtful, and whole. You're a whole capable human being.
This is merely a fraction of your brain that can be debilitating, a part that irritates you as much as anyone else. If anything, it must bother you personally even more, courtesy of being stuck inside your head all hours of the day.
Daniil views this as working alongside you against those irrational fears. If they go away, sure, that's great.
And if they don't? So what?
Daniil is here to stay as well, and he's twice as stubborn. He'll keep trying different methods, lend you his own memory and perspective, take note of the average everyday things that you might recall in doubt later, and reassure you as he stands witness against these irrational fears.
He doesn't see you as less. You are not less or wrong for having them. If anything, you're the one being tormented by them. He scoffs at the concept of you being considered a bad person for something as trivial as "bad" thoughts.
Let those people try living a day in your shoes, dealing with the constant pestering your brain has to deal with. Daniil is sure not one of them even has half your self will and control, to constantly attempt to resist these urges, to push these thoughts down and put an end to a spiraling conversation the fear in your brain abruptly started.
Dankovsky is the type of person to still stand by your side even if the worst comes to be, to take responsibility and attempt to fix things rather than waste time pointing the blame.
Even as you confide in him the intrusive thoughts your brain plagued you with, he views them as separate from you, through a passive lens.
You're not horrific or disgusting. You're not any of the names these fears keep throwing your way after, forcing you to imagine the same thoughts they've been shaming you for having.
As if a person's whole morality can be judged by whatever passing-by thoughts wandering in and out of their brain. You don't need Daniil to tell you how absurd that concept is.
And if there was no other way? If nothing worked and the anxiety became suffocating as you had to give into one of the compulsions and derail your entire day?
He'd go with you, derail his day too. Huffy and puffy sure, but he wouldn't place any real blame on you.
Bluntly stating it out if you show any sign of guilt, he's not the type to coddle. His words are concise.
You're not making him do this; he chose to be here by his own will. You're the one being forced to go through this by your brain. The least he could do is keep you company.
Reminding you that you're capable even without him, you don't require his reassurance, he's happy to give it all the same to ease your path, but at the end of the day it's you walking that path with your own two feet. It's you learning how not to feed into these compulsive urges and fears, to merely watch them pass through. No denying them, no arguing against them, merely observing and standing your ground.
Because the world is nothing like they make it seem, it's never “do this specific thing immediately or everything will go up in flames” there is no one to punish you, these fears hold no authority over you.
It's hard, unimaginably hard to have to be vigilant about which thoughts to trust since they tend to disguise themselves as common sense. It's hard to disobey what feels like a direct order from someone in a higher position, akin breaking a set-in-stone law.
Daniil can relate to those feelings more than anything. He was in a similar position and had to challenge actual authority, ones who held the power to order his execution with a snap of their fingers.
Life loves nothing more than forcing you to break your own principles. He found out the hard way. Every pillar he adhered to, forced to crumble beneath him, leaving him contradicting the person he'd been for the past decade with every action his current self took.
So yes, he's staying by your side, picking you up whenever you fall down, yet making sure you still know how to walk on your own.

Lara Ravel
For as long as she can remember, Lara believed that to be loved is to be known. But even now, she has a hard time understanding her late father, comprehending what exactly was he thinking, wasting his life away in the army, compensating her with a life of luxury as if those things could ever make up for all the time they never spent together.
She knows she loves you deeply. She cares about you more than life itself, yet for the life of her, she can never understand you no matter how hard she tries.
It's agonising, watching you suffer through the turmoil of intrusive thoughts. Not knowing what to do or how to help, feeling useless, restless, desperate to help in any shape or form.
Her haste was her shortcoming. The more she rushed to offer what she considered help in various and starkly different forms, the more you felt the sudden pressure place on you increase.
Especially when some of her help is unwarranted and abrupt, foregoing asking you what you might need, instead choosing to guess what you must need herself.
It's suffocating how she keeps throwing things at the wall to see what sticks, bordering interrogating you about your state afterwards, hoping that maybe this time, she actually did something useful.
You know she means well, you know her heart is in the right place… but you'd be lying if you said you don't feel like one of her charity cases at times, something to fix just because that's what Lara always does to "broken" things, as painful as that sentence felt to sound in your brain, let alone think of yourself that way.
You don't know how to voice these feelings without sounding “ungrateful” for her overwhelming attention, and so they begin to fester inside your chest, giving way to resentment as you become more and more distant.
She asks you to explain, and sometimes it's really hard for you to do so. How could you explain something that you yourself can't seem to grasp? It just lives with you, constantly hovering and making itself known at the worst time possible. You've learned to endure.
Rarely does the anxiety make sense. It's more of an intense feeling that keeps gnawing at your brain, repeating that your day will be ruined, your life will end, if you don't do this one thing, and do it now.
Horrific ideas and intrusive thoughts about people you love that leave a sour taste in your mouth, making you feel vile and disgusting inside. Wondering why did something like that even occur to you?
It was never one of your own thoughts to begin with, but another tool weaponized by fear to pressure you into doing what it wants.
Making your skin feel as if it was on fire, the prolonged stress giving way to nervous movements and trembles, snapping at innocents who were simply at the wrong place and time, only for shame and guilt to follow after.
Bottling it in, because sharing it with others seems to do more harm than good at times, leading to either being faced with judgement, questions you don't have the answer to, or both.
As the distance between you two increases, Lara's ways of forcing help come to an abrupt stop. The further away she is from the picture, the easier it becomes to see it whole and realise just what she's been doing this entire time.
Self-awareness dawns on her like cold water. She's remorseful for her actions, for not realising she was only adding to your pain, pushing you away, and making you regret confiding in her.
You don't have to comfort or reassure her. She's not a little kid. She knows what she did was wrong… How blinded that she was by grief.
Lara promises you never to repeat her past mistakes. Asking if you'd let her mend this, the shared life between you two, to try and make amends before she loses the person she loves most.
While it's challenging having to go against her instincts to jump into action and do something to help, she persists through them. You watch her part her lips to say something before wordlessly closing her mouth, on separate occasions.
Try as she might, she couldn't understand the workings of your mind before, so now she's decided to completely abandon that approach.
Lara's more resourceful than people give her credit for, she was the first one to think of establishing a shelter on the first day of the now gone-by plague, planning and executing it within the same day, and coordinating donations from people whom she knew wouldn't refuse to aid her cause.
So when faced with a conundrum she can't find an immediate solution to, Lara does the one thing she wished someone would've done for her during those nights of staying up worrying about her father.
She earnestly comforts you as best she can. Merely extending her unconditional support, the kindest form of love she can offer.
Foregoing all logic and reason, she repeats that she's by your side and is here to stay, through thick and thin, even during the hard days where giving into every compulsion is the only way to stay sane, especially during those.
She's endlessly patient, never rushing you as you recheck and recount things all over again just to be sure, as you take precautions for unlikely danger.
Standing up to aid in your activity, whatever it may be, observing your rituals and adapting the ones that help ease your mind when done by others.
If it brings you comfort, then it's worth it.
Anything is worth your peace of mind to her.
Slowly, bit by bit, she begins to accept your fears as they are. You don't need to understand the innermost workings of a machine in order to operate it well, and Lara is getting really good at determining what's bothering you.
She stopped asking for explanations; these fears don't deserve the courtesy of one, and it seems to only further worsen your state. So radical acceptance became her new approach.
Acceptance of you, of your fears.
You forgot to pass by your neighbour's house on the way home, and now your brain is telling you that the whole town must hate you and wish you to leave? Oh, she believes you, although neither of you have the money to move to the Capital, and if the whole town planned to siege this house with pitchforks and torches, it's kind of late for either of you to go anywhere anyway, the train only arrives once a month.
But you know what you can do? Make some tea, go upstairs into your bedroom, lock the room, and get under the cover. She'll accept death by an angry mob, but not without a warm beverage first.
The two of you spend an hour in bed upstairs, drinking warm tea and cuddling next to each other, the night passes by uneventfully, and the next day your neighbour waves hello at you as you're taking the trash out.
She doesn't challenge your compulsive behaviour as long as they don't cause you or anyone else any harm.
You two live in a small sleepy town at the in the middle of nowhere, the world won't end if you spend a day inside, the townsfolk wouldn't bat an eye if you enter and exist the same store 7 times, everything is within reach and it's a short trip back home no matter where in town you end up.
While the world itself wouldn't end, your anxiety gets the best of you and makes it seem like your world will end if certain things aren't done in specific ways and sequences.
And that's fine in Lara's book, take as much time as you need, she even helps you break them down, the rituals, turn them into a written list of small tasks spread out throughout the day so you'd still have time to eat, sleep, and rest.
It might not be the same as never giving into the compulsion, but it's definitely bars above never satisfying the urge at all.
When you do miss some steps or fail to perform certain parts, the panic in the aftermath isn't as overwhelming as it used to be when you'd forget the entire ritual, it's more palatable, easier to endure.
You can love someone without fully understanding them, and while love alone is never enough by itself, all the effort, care, and patience Lara keeps putting in seems to make it work so far.
She keeps waking up every day and choosing you, choosing this life with you.
As you are, she wants to be with you as you are.
You've been trying your best, too, which varies from day to day. On some days, you've accumulated the necessary courage to take risks and face those fears. On other days, enduring and surviving alone consumes all of your energy.
And on some days, you don't even realise that you forgot to do a certain daily ritual until after the day has ended. The comfort of knowing you have the time and space to indulge your compulsive urges sometimes makes it… easier to postpone them, which can lead you to getting distracted and forgetting them whole.
The safety Lara helped cultivate in your shared house eases your strife. Likewise, she seems to learn a thing or two from you, becoming more accepting of herself, more comfortable with the idea that she can't help in every situation, sometimes sitting things out and being a shoulder of support is the best she can offer.
And that's fine, that's okay, it doesn't make her useless despite what the cruel parts of her brain tell her. How she should offer the same kindness and grace to herself that she extends to others.
That you're stronger than she ever realised, more capable too. Your experiences made you especially understand the less talked about aspects of the human condition, in turn, Lara finds herself confiding in you as well.
Sharing words and thoughts she would've never told another person, confessing about the endless nights she spent awake in bed imagining all the worst case scenarios that would have occurred just because her father was a few hours late home.
While she doesn't have the heart to ever stop you if your compulsive urges became centred on seeking her reassurance to function, the safety at home, preservation of simplified rituals, and breaking tasks down make it much easier to break out of that cycle by yourself, step by step.

Yandere Blitzø x Reader Headcannons
Tumblr media
I can see him getting in one of two types of relationships. The first is the kind you see between him and Stolas or even him and Verosika. It’s a romance of convenience, where he blows someone’s brains out and in exchange he gets the perks of whatever that person gives him as his lover. With Stolas its the grimoire and Verosika the fame and thrill of being connected to a pop star. The other type of relationship I could see him wanting though is that more clingy, genuine one that he seems to stalk Moxie and Millie over. He would desire a really functional, mutual relationship with someone who is sweet and caring. I could see this as a romance of passion that develops at rocket ship speed and implodes just as fast.
This is for the simple fact that while Blitzø seems like the type to be a master at the initial seduction, he sucks at the maintaining part of the relationship. This would likely come from him self-destructing it. Heck who am I kidding, we both know this is exactly what would happen. He would do something stupid to push you away and probably emotionally neglect you as well.
The inevitable rejection is faced with rage. Oh, you don’t like him? So what, he doesn’t care. He never liked your ugly ass to begin with. You look like a diseased dog and have the brain power of a turnip. What makes you think he would want you? If you accept his doubled down rejection though and play it cool, you’re only going to piss him off even more. You’re not even gonna fight back?! How dare you!
I could see him having slight stalker tendencies. This can be seen in all the “research” that he has saved up, as well as how he views M and M. He’s not one of the super creepy, meticulous stalkers, but I could see him wanting to keep tabs on the person he likes, even if you don’t have a romantic relationship.
This man is a slow burn yandere. All the ingredients are there for a perfect Michelin five star dinner, but you have got to let it COOK. All of his self destructive habits and bad dating experiences have slowly built up into MAJOR insecurity and prickliness. But at the same time, I see him as wanting to have a vulnerable, real relationship, and overall this deep seated NEED to be loved by someone. He just doesn’t have any idea how to do it without blowing it up right in his face. After so many failures in relationships, there would need to be a slow buildup to the right one that ends badly and causes him to act rashly.
I sincerely believe that this guy is a gold mine for yandere content. See, I like yandere content for the psychological aspects of it. The self destruction, manipulation, and unhealthy coping mechanisms, like my own little fictional case study of the darker selfish side of human nature. And I feel like Blitzo would be a PERFECT character to do this with. Insecure? Check. Self-destructive? Check. Aggressive? Check. Tends to get himself involved in other people’s relationships? To poor Moxie’s dismay – checkaroo. There is just so much potential for him to develop into the worst version of himself in a good fanfiction (especially since it looks like a toxic bad breakup is about to rock his world in the canon), and I would love to see someone do it in a realistic and in-character (KEY WORD HERE) way.

If you don’t like being fakeclaimed, maybe you should refrain from fakeclaiming others? /gen
You don’t know what’s going on in someone’s mind more than they do themselves… endogenic plurality doesn’t pose any real threat or tangible harm to any trauma-formed system.
Sincerely, a DID system who gives others the benefit of the doubt.
We explicitly state in the tags of all our posts that we don't want endogenic systems to interact with us. However as this is a topic I feel very strongly about, I will explain why endogenic systems are in fact harmful to traumagenic systems.
Dissociative Identity Disorder is caused by severe childhood trauma before the age of 8 years old where the child needs to dissocate in order to cope and get through what is happening. Unfortunately it is under researched and as a result is highly stigmatized - even amongst medical professionals. Endogenic systems are not real and will never be real because the identifying label implies the non-existent of any childhood trauma (the key component in DID). Furthermore this is harmful because by claiming you are an endogenic system you are spreading misinformation about an already misunderstood disorder and further increasing the stigma which harms us. I'll give an example, by accepting endogenic systems the general public will begin to think of traumagenic systems and endogenic systems are one in the same - this then could reflect with medical professionals and could prevent someone with DID getting the treatment they need, due to the stigma.
Now I understand that maybe a small fraction of endogenic systems do actually have trauma but due to dissociative amnesia they may not remember it. However using a label that proudly exclaims they do not have trauma is harmful for the reasons stated above, and they should seek advice from a therapist before spreading misinformation online.
Finally I want to add that telling endogenic systems that you cannot be a system if you don't have trauma is not fakeclaiming, it is simply stating facts. You can't. I am not discounting that you may in fact have DID I am stating endogenic systems do not exist.
Please be mindful of my blog boundaries next time.

Doctor White - Chapter Four
Tom Koracick x OC (FanFiction)
This is a super rough draft of a Tom Koracick x OC story I've had in my head. I got a ton of chapters done, but then kind of his a block at a cliff hanger and I figure, perhaps if I post it, maybe I can figure out what to do next.
Rating is probably close to PG, don't think there is any spicey bits, pretty tame.
Read: Chapter One, Chapter Two, Chapter Three
Tumblr media
Chapter Four
“This will be our office. I had Bailey free something up for you,” Tom said, opening the door to research room three. “I have to fly out in a few hours, and I expect your written proposal in my inbox by the time I land, so I can review it. Once we’re approved, you can start filling this place with whatever you need.” He handed a set of keys to Elizabeth, placing them firmly in her palm.
“Dr. Koracick, thank you for doing this,” Elizabeth replied, her voice sincere. She stepped into the room, setting her laptop down on a bare desk. She looked around, picturing the space bustling with equipment, workstations, and even cages for mice with brain tumors. It felt like potential was hovering in the air.
“Of course,” he replied simply, as if arranging all this was no big deal. Tom patted the outside of his jacket before slipping a hand inside to pull out his phone. After quickly entering his passcode, he handed the device to Elizabeth.
She took it, inputting her contact information, and handed it back. A second later, her pocket vibrated, signaling that he’d already messaged her.
“Tom?” The familiar voice of Amelia drifted in as she entered the room. “I thought you’d already left.”
Tom slid his hands into the pockets of his dark grey pants and smirked. “Miss me already, did you?”
“Actually, I could use that brain of yours for a project,” Amelia replied, casting a curious glance around the empty room. “Unless… are you?”
“I can share, but if my idea gets funding, he’s all mine,” Elizabeth interjected, a small smirk on her face.
“Sweetheart, you’d never have to share me,” Tom replied, wiggling his eyebrows.
Elizabeth rolled her eyes. “Just go, before you miss your plane and I’m stuck with you for another day.”
“Wait, are you two…?” Amelia asked, looking between them with raised eyebrows.
“Ick, no. She has cooties,” Tom replied, scrunching his nose and sticking out his tongue.
Elizabeth scoffed, reaching into her coat pocket to pull out a pen, which she lightly tossed at his chest. “Rude.”
He caught it effortlessly, laughing as he pocketed the pen. “Well, it’s mine now. You’re a terrible pen parent and don’t deserve to keep him,” he quipped, gesturing for Amelia to lead the way.
Elizabeth let out a chuckle as she sat down, opening her laptop. Pulling a nearby chair closer with the toe of her shoe, she got to work on her proposal.
“Oww!” Elizabeth groaned as she lifted her head from the desk, realizing she’d fallen asleep. Her laptop’s screen was dark, the battery long dead. She rubbed her neck, feeling the tension there. Her phone, lying on the desk, flashed green with a series of missed messages from an unknown number.
I’ve landed, and there’s nothing in my inbox. - T
Did you run into a problem? Call me, and we can work through it. - T
Did you fall asleep? - T
You fell asleep, didn’t you? Well, after you’ve woken, had coffee, and something to eat, give me a call. - T
The last message had arrived just five minutes ago. Without thinking, she tapped his number and lifted the phone to her ear.
“Fell asleep?” Tom’s voice asked, slightly amused.
“Yeah, sorry. I was reviewing the proposal when I must’ve dozed off. Now my computer’s dead, and I’m afraid I might fall asleep on the drive home.”
“If you’re that tired, don’t drive. Find an on-call room—they’re pretty comfortable at Grey Sloan.”
The tone in his voice made her raise an eyebrow. “Ew. Also, I’m off tomorrow… or today, I guess. I’d rather sleep in my own bed. I’ll send the proposal as soon as I get home and plug my computer in.”
“Well, until then, I’m staying on the line, so no hanging up.”
“I’ll be fine.”
“Says the woman who just drooled on the desk I got her.”
“I didn’t drool.” She huffed, closing her laptop and gathering it under her arm.
“Sure, sure. But if you did, I bet it was cute.”
Elizabeth flipped off the light and shut the door. “You’re impossible, you know that?”
“It’s one of my best qualities—right after this thing I can do with my tongue.”
“Koracick!” Elizabeth nearly shouted, causing a few passing nurses to glance her way.
“What, did you just turn my tongue trick into something dirty?”
“You know I really don’t like you,” she said as she stepped into the elevator.
“You love me; don’t deny it. So tell me, why didn’t you accept my offer for residency?”
Elizabeth sighed, leaning back against the wall. “I’m busted, aren’t I?”
“I knew exactly who you were when we met. So tell me, why didn’t you accept the match at Hopkins or the generous offer I got the board to make when you became a resident?”
“Honestly?” She hesitated as the elevator filled with Doctors Owen Hunt and Richard Webber. She shifted over to make room, lowering her voice. “I thought you were an asshole. I mean, it’s still up for debate,” she added with a chuckle. Owen and Richard turned slightly, glancing curiously at her.
“But learning from the best didn’t mean much if I couldn’t stand the teacher. So I watched your lectures, practiced your methods, and, might I add, I was brilliant at it.”
“Did you know you’re both infuriating and amazing?”
“I’ve heard that before—usually in bed, though.” The words slipped out, and she winced as Owen stifled a laugh, while Richard, a few paces ahead, shook his head slightly.
“I can’t believe I just said that.”
“I thought it was a brilliant response.”
“Yeah, well, the people in this elevator don’t agree.”
Tom’s laughter rang through the phone, just as the elevator doors dinged open on the main level. Owen motioned for Elizabeth to go ahead, and she gave him a nod before stepping out into the lobby.
“You know what, good night, Dr. Koracick,” she said with a smile. “I promise not to fall asleep behind the wheel. Goodnight.” She ended the call, still smiling.
Owen caught up to her. “It was pretty funny,” he admitted.
“Owen Hunt,” he said, holding out his hand. “We haven’t been formally introduced—I’ve only barked orders at you in passing. Sorry about that, by the way.”
“It’s fine; comes with the job,” she replied, shaking his hand. “Elizabeth White.”
They continued walking together. “So, Elizabeth, any relation to Dr. White in Cardio?”
“Unfortunately, yes. He’s my father.”
“Yikes,” Owen said, grimacing.
“Yep, that’s the usual reaction,” she said, shrugging. “He’s amazing at what he does, but… nothing’s ever good enough for him.”
Owen noticed her exhaustion. “You know, I did follow you out here because you left in your scrubs and coat. Figured you might actually fall asleep at the wheel.”
Elizabeth gasped, looking down at herself. “Oh, for heaven’s sake. Maybe I should have found an on-call room.”
“How about you crash on my couch?”
She sighed, too tired to argue. “I was supposed to have tomorrow off, but I’m probably just going to end up back here, so alright, lead the way.”
When they reached his truck, Owen helped her in, steadying her as she half-climbed, half-stumbled into the seat. The drive was quiet, and Elizabeth dozed until they arrived, jolted awake by the truck’s abrupt stop.
“We’re here,” Owen said, catching her as she nearly slid out of the truck. “Didn’t realize you are that short.”
“Hey, I’m not that short; your truck is just absurdly tall,” she laughed.
Inside, Owen handed her an oversized, well-worn T-shirt and pointed down the hall. “The bathroom’s just there, and there should be some spare toiletries in the drawer.”
“Thanks, Doctor Hunt.”
“Owen, please.”
“Thanks, Owen.” She changed quickly, scrubbing her face clean and brushing her teeth. When she returned, she found he’d set up the couch with a sheet, pillows, and a couple of blankets.
“Thanks again for this,” she said, settling onto the makeshift bed.
“Don’t mention it,” he replied, grinning. “I’d offer you the bed, but I don’t think I’m ready to witness these ‘skills’ of yours firsthand.”
Elizabeth laughed, tossing a throw pillow at him as he darted down the hallway. “Rude, Owen Hunt. Just rude.”

maybe I will develop my older mystery twins ghost hunter (they both like science because I'm autistic and I like science, so lord help me, they have my fixations) idea later on. someone needs to give me further ideas though. drop a colour pallet or something and I'll see what I can do. or maybe give me a request or two. I would like some ideas. no promises though, I'm a student and my GPA is the biggest contributor to my self worth so those grades stay high and I don't always have the time to draw. don't take it to heart.
also as a complete side note and head canon, mabel has absolutely taught her grunkles (and tried to convince dipper, with minimal success) how to do some sort of yarn craft. stan likes to knit (and through many fond experiences with mabel, is quite adept at it) and ford knows how to do two (2) different crochet stitches. both of which he screws up often. but he is determined to get better and spends the time he doesn't spend researching, reading, or doing something similar, crocheting. neither of the stans have any idea on what to do with a pattern though and so there are a lot of blankets, hats, half done sweaters and vests between the two of them.
both of them can do crafty things though and I would think they like to do them even! ford clearly has a penchant for designing his own things (even if they're shittily put together. yes I am focusing on that glue bottle on his desk while he was making the journals in AToTS, that thing is a crime. also the way he put the glue on. come on.) and stan has his entire comic thing going AND the taxidermy thing. you don't just start doing that because you hate to do textile crafts. the stan twins like crafts. they would do crafts. their boat would be overflowing with craft supplies and I haven't seen anyone else talk about this. I crochet and paint and draw and paper machete and make cards and dammit I like crafts.
also along the vein of Everyone In The Pines Family Is Neurodiverse™ train, I think they all like going to craft stores and feeling the various yarn textures. one of them finds a texture that makes them gag and makes the others touch it for fun. y'know. just family things. mabel and stan absolutely have opinions on craft supplies and ford, after getting back to his home dimension is devastated to find that some of his favorite reliable brands are no longer reliable and are just overpriced so mabel and stan direct him to the supplies that are good and reliable now. I feel like they all give each other art tips.
stan is the guy to go to if you need to a good adhesive (because, by the lord, is it hard to find the right one for the right job), he also knows the best way to patch up something and make it look semi realistic, and barely noticable. mabel knows the best yarn stores, fabric brands, and the various supplies for that (I'm talking an extensive collection of hooks, looms, latches, patches, ect.). ford knows how to, and frequently does, bind his own books so they look Cool™. I also think he has very strict opinions on paint supplies and an extensive collection of brushes, pallets, and paints. he and stan argue about color theory, mabel likes to convince them it doesn't matter as long as it looks cute! dipper likes to do metal working things and has a collection of various metal objects to help him with his crafts. he's the kind of guy to make homemade chainmail. he'd made chainmail. because I said so. also he is absolutely the kind of guy to get into 3D modeling and have some ridiculous project on the back burner at all times.
ALLLSSOOOO, he makes really sick earrings for mabel sometimes and I feel he's got really bad Foot In Mouth Syndrome (me too buddy), and probably prefers to make a handmade gift for someone's birthday rather than trying to find them something at the store. he's the kind of guy to worry about intentionality and sincerity and as such, mabel makes a card and a crochet plush (or something), he makes some sick key chain, pair of earrings, some other sort of metal thing that they'd like and the two call it a day. this is a family where someone puts the card together and you sign your name at the bottom as to not be rude but also you have none of the correct words to write. that is what I believe is the truth.
also they all know how to sew, for stan and ford their mom taught them the basics but they really honed their skills when it because a necessity to patch their own clothing, fix holes in curtains, patch shitty pillows, and embroider something because it looked interesting. mabel learned because she likes textile crafts and she dragged dipper into learning to sew as well because he'd need it eventually! also their parents probably helped to foster a love of creation in their kids, they don't come up with the sort of ideas they do entirely on their own, it's something special that should be fostered, but it can be harnessed by anyone, regardless of age, or perceived talent.
this is all to say that I am a very big fan of crafts and I think everyone needs a hobby, especially one that works with textiles, something physical. it's good to see your work, in front of you, physically. "yeah, yeah, but digital art, and-" have you ever felt a print of your work in your hands before? do you know how much joy that can bring? I've had my art printed on shirts before and then seen people wear them. that's insane. that's accomplishment. that feels Good. it is beyond important to have a thing that you can do on your own and love.
I feel the pines family has a lot of dexterity, especially in their hands from the way stan & ford are about art, mabel's sweaters, and the way dipper handles ford's journal through the entire series. you don't develop a fondness for fragile things like art through not doing them, you dive in head first and hate it and hate yourself because it looks awful and then you share it and someone absolutely loves your work and it all becomes worth it again. because you make good things. your work is not inherently flawed because you made it. creation is natural, it reminds you that you're human. you are fallible and that is such a wonderful thing.
some of these paragraphs are cut in odd spots, if it throws you off, I apologize. I can't read huge text blocks very well and would like to extend the same courtesy to others if they also struggle to read text blocks. I'm not tom clancy, I'll leave breaks in my paragraphs every so often even if the thoughts are still connected. continuity urges me to keep them together, whatever is going on in my head tells me they need to be separate. that's all I have to say on that, please enjoy my art head canons for the pines family.

Note
A knight was supposed to show bravery, strength and skill in battle (this was called prowess), to respect women, to defend the weak and the poor, to be generous to others and loyal to his lord, his family and his friends. He was meant to behave at all times with courtesy - which meant not just being polite or having good manners but showing kindness and respect and thinking about the feelings of others.
Courtesy also involved acting correctly when fighting. For example, it was not courteous to try to injure an enemy's horse. If a knight knocked his enemy off his horse, he should wait until the other knight mounted again before attacking. If the horse had run away, the knight should get off his own horse and fight his opponent on foot. It was not courteous to kill an enemy if he begged for mercy and agreed to be a prisoner.
this is the knight code of conduct
Respect
Respect can be a feeling, and it can be demonstrated in our actions and words. To us, respecting other people means recognizing and acknowledging their worth and value as human beings, regardless of their background, race, or creed. It's demonstrated in all our day-to-day relations—refraining from demeaning others for their ideas and opinions, refusing to laugh at racist or sexist jokes, putting prejudices aside, and staying open-minded. We show respect not just by what we refrain from doing but also by intentional acts, such as being on time, dressing appropriately, or giving our full attention to the person or people we're with.
Self-respect is just as important as respect for others. A person who respects herself isn't boastful or pushy but is secure in a way that inspires confidence in others. She values herself regardless of her physical attributes or individual talents, understanding that integrity and character are what really matter.
Consideration
Consideration is about having empathy for another person, and the key to consideration is thoughtful behavior. Being thoughtful means thinking about what you can do for those around you and how your actions will affect them. Consideration leads us to help a friend or stranger in need, to bestow a token of appreciation, or to offer praise.
Honesty
Honesty is both about about telling the truth and avoiding even white lies, and about acting sincerely and with integrity. We should add that we like benevolent rather than brutal honesty. It's the basis of tact: Using empathy to find the positive truth and telling or acting on it, without causing embarrassment or pain to someone else. Honesty is also about being authentic and genuine with others. No one likes insincere, "lip-service" politeness—it can be as bad as outright rudeness.
All Together
Put these three principles together and act on them in your daily life and you will be the soul of graciousness and have excellent relationships as a result. These three principles will see you through thick and thin, guiding you through differences of opinion or interactions with difficult people who cross your path and helping you to build even better relationships with those close to you.
this is the rules of etiquette. aka being polite.

and this is a book on manners.
you have broken many sebek, and that means you are not being a true knight. if not careful i shall take the title away from you.
Yours truly Briar valley's Grand Master of knights.
......
When I first read this I was legit about to sob because I thought they were actually like kinda scolding me for not playing Sebek exactly how he is. I play more of an exaggerated and crack version of him since this blog is really meant for laughs so I kinda go mad at them "Scolding" me. then I realized this was just probably just a bit lol. Good on them for researching about the knights code and writing all this for a bit. great work honestly, great work. I wonder who the anon is though.
