When you leave comments like this:
here’s what I see:
“I don’t actually appreciate the work you put into writing this fic. I don’t think about the time, the care, the love, the effort it takes to write something this intensive. Just drop everything you’re doing to give me, specifically, more, more, more.”
There is no next part, commenter. This is part 6, the final installment of a multichapter fic I’ve been working on for 3 years, with many other fics that branch off of this concept. This is the hardest I’ve worked on any story in my entire 30-some years of writing. I love it with all my heart.
Now, I don’t actually believe you intend these comments to come off this way. You don’t mean to discourage me, or to leave a sour taste in my mouth, or to make me consider ending everything I’m currently working on and deleting this blog forever.
So, let me help you. In the future, when you comment on a writer’s work, try this instead:
“I loved this! I particularly liked (insert favorite part here). This made me feel (insert emotions here). Thank you so much for blessing my dash with this masterpiece. I would love to see more of these characters.”
This is so much more constructive. I’ve received comments like this before and, let me tell you, I got to work on that next chapter almost immediately (even if I hadn’t originally planned to write one).
On that note, thank you to the people who have stuck with me this long, who leave amazing comments, who reblog, who keysmash in the tags. You encourage me and make this all worth it ❤️

patrochilles / fairy tale AU / complete (40k words)
There is a curse. A destiny, as his mother loves to remind him. A war. An unknown future, somewhere out there in the fighting and killing. But here, there is only the sun and the grass and Achilles’s swift feet. Here, there is Patroclus sitting in the shade. Here, Achilles pulls him closer and puts his arms around him, staining their clothes with charcoal dust from sketched out dreams. Patroclus sinks into him heavily. The sound of their breathing is the only thing they can hear, as though the clearing—their clearing— is a shield hiding them from the rest of the world. “Take me with you,” Patroclus tells him at the same time that Achilles says, “Please come with me.”
In the tiny kingdom of Phthia, a golden prince is cursed with invulnerability except for a vulnerable heel. An exile apprenticed to a shoemaker is commissioned by the palace to create a shoe the prince can fight in.
A fairy tale about a curse, a magical shoe, a war, a doomed hero, an exile, destiny, and love despite everything.

okay my inspo/motivation when it comes to art has the stability of a chocolate eclair but like... i really REALLY wanna draw up what i think the continuation/aftermath of the 'charlie gives al her soul to protect/save him' comic-thing would be, cause i have an idea for it that makes me smile like a madman, but i would like your permission to create it bc... well, i'd feel like im just stealing your idea if otherwise lmao
/nf to let me though!! dont feel pressured if you wanna keep it to yourself, i'll hold no grudges /gen/nm ^^
Sweetie pie you go right ahead! ❤️❤️❤️
My art motivations are also all over the place I get youuuuuu!🙏
I myself have NO ideas for what would come next in that story,
but the angst goblins in my walls have been very vocal about wanting a part 2.😂
so if you manage to feed them for me that would just be great!
