Another bit of the livingroom of the house I made for my Welcome Home OC! I did a lot of research when first making it, and I found I absolutely adore the idea of conversation pits! Maybe I'll add characters another time...

On another note; I'm planning on writing up one last story for all you fellow strangers! This won't be my absolute last, but it may be my last until the week ends. It's my last week of high school, and boyso oh boyso, is it going to be busy!! I'm not sure I'll have the free time to write another. Fortunately, I have today off, so I'll write one while I still can.

Also, one of the things i am almost certainly sure was cut from Flux when they got their episode count chopped was Yaz’s career issues. That they mentioned it, and mentioned it again in a way that lacks continuity to the last mention in the space of two episodes smacks of ‘something got cut’ to me. Like the backstory with Azure that never arrived despite the fact that when you think about it you go wait... what??? 

And I mean, I don’t?? have any major issues with how Yaz’s story went because it all tracks neatly into the main arc where Yaz ends up the doctor, but i Do think the little things were cut out due to the plague getting them a lower episode count, and so the arc feels in some ways lacking in polish because the stuff from s11-12 was Very intricate and it lost some of the homely touches of storytelling through lack of time.

Added to that, they ended up doing a serial which is Not Nearly As Good for character work as non serialised episodes. Sometimes to say something about a character you need a contrived story to reveal the perfect thing about them. In a serial format you can’t take a break and do that. Eve of the daleks and legend of the sea devils being the episodes that really moved things forward interpersonally for the characters is just proof to that. 

Mostly i think the plague ballsed things up is 8 million different ways. I could be bitter about it but i’m gonna spend my time hoping chibbs will do a tell all over what else was gonna happen instead.

i love when words fit right. seize was always supposed to be that word, and so was jester. tuesday isn't quite right but thursday should be thursday, that's a good word for it. daisy has the perfect shape to it, almost like you're laughing when you say it; and tulip is correct most of the time. while keynote is fun to say, it's super wrong - i think they have to change the label for that one. but fox is spot-on.

most words are just, like, good enough, even if what they are describing is lovely. the night sky is a fine term for it but it isn't perfect the way november is the correct term for that month.

it's not just in english because in spanish the phrase eso si que es is correct, it should be that. sometimes other languages are also better than the english words, like how blue is sloped too far downwards but azul is perfect and hangs in the air like glitter. while butterfly is sweet, i think probably papillion is more correct, although for some butterflies féileacán is much better. year is fine but bliain is better. sometimes multiple languages got it right though, like how jueves and Πέμπτη are also the right names for thursday. maybe we as a species are just really good at naming thursdays.

and if we were really bored and had a moment and a picnic to split we could all sit down for a moment and sort out all the words that exist and find all the perfect words in every language. i would show you that while i like the word tree (it makes you smile to say it), i think arbor is correct. you could teach me from your language what words fit the right way, and that would be very exciting (exciting is not correct, it's just fine).

i think probably this is what was happening at the tower of babel, before the languages all got shifted across the world and smudged by the hand of god. by the way, hand isn't quite right, but i do like that the word god is only 3 letters, and that it is shaped like it is reflecting into itself, and that it kind of makes your mouth move into an echoing chapel when you cluck it. but the word god could also fit really well with a coathanger, and i can't explain that. i think donut has (weirdly) the same shape as a toothbrush, but we really got bagel right and i am really grateful for that.

grateful is close, but not like thunder. hopefully one day i am going to figure out how to shape the way i love my friends into a little ceramic (ceramic is very good, almost perfect) pot and when they hold it they can feel the weight of my care for them. they can put a plant in there. maybe a daisy.

Trying to remember the last time I played hide and seek. The last time I said hi to everyone on the street or saw the girls I spent every day of six years with. The last time my dad picked me up, or my mum brushed my hair. When was the last time I dressed without consideration? There is so much to think about now. I remember falling on the grass at school and making stories with the clouds. Hanging upside down from the swing and realising how big the world was. I wonder on the path of growing when we stop feeling big. I am taller now, smaller still.

this year my challenge for everyone is to unlearn the association between love and morality. love is not something that is inherently morally good, and the absence of love is not something that is inherently bad. sex without love isn't morally bankrupt, it's just an action. people without love aren't less kind or less good, they're just people. when we can get past this false (and often unnoticed) dichotomy of good love/evil lovelessness then i think we are going to be able to take leaps and bounds in sex positivity, aro advocacy, certain discussions of mental health...

Oh, this was just hilarious. This is peak comedy, and Regulus has front-row seats to the show that is James Potter slowly but completely losing his mind. He would be able to appreciate this rare moment more if he wasn't the subject of the golden boy's piercing stare at the moment, but life likes to have a laugh from time to time.
