whatup, it's the designated tired wine mom of the system (ace) here writing about grounding skills in case it helps everyone. and i'm not just gonna tell you "take a deep breath." this is the real shit that works for our system. note this is from the perspective of an OSDD system, but anyone can use these tricks since dissociation's widespread across trauma and MH disorders.

also we've got like, 70% of a psych degree so i may know what im talkin about

what i'm doing right now: use your fine motor skills. i am quite literally typing this to ground us. learned this one from our therapist. engaging your peripheral motor neurons forces the CNS (central nervous system) to actually engage with the body and like. put you in it.

further on that, ENGAGE YOUR SENSORY SYSTEMS. i'm a massive fan of scented candles for this. just make sure you aren't picking a scent that's tied to a trauma

if you can, pet an animal. hold a cat. they're great for this.

further on that, soft things in general. fidgets. nuanced textures that you can interact with (case in point, i'm typing this like a maniac rn)

learned this one from a friend ( @spacefall-system , cheers mate) consume some sour sweets. shocks u into 'oh fuck i'm here.' also some science shows it can trigger the parasympathetic nervous system, which is essentially the "calm tf down" part.

get your shoes off and put your feet on the ground. physically feel what that feels like.

i am currently chugging oversteeped tea bc the bitterness is keeping me grounded. also the mug is warm, which reminds me that i'm controlling my hands and i'm holding it.

hold ice cubes.

physically rub your arms and legs, like you're trying to warm them up.

if i were to suggest anything, i'd make it a convo with your system. leave a journal page open. figure out what grounds everyone. some littles may like a specific stuffie. i know i prefer tastes and scents to ground. everyone's different.

on top of all this, though, be gentle with yourself. grounding ain't the same as forcing yourself to stay in front. our therapist is real clear on that one. switches happen with CDDs. grounding is an important skill to have, but don't get all mad at yourself if you're dissociating. that's literally how this works.

Headcanon: How will they react if you tell them about CDD? (Pedro Pascal characters) 👰💔😱🤕

I accidentally found a website about CDD (Christian Domestic Discipline) and I read a few fragments of articles by a certain moron. And I don't know what scared me more. Lack of basic respect and love for wife. Spanking is a form of punishment to correct the wife's behavior. Or the fact that the wife is always supposed to be willing and obey commands like "kneel" and willingly take his cock in her mouth... 🤢 🤮 I just felt sick (like someone punched me in the stomach) and I needed some therapy, so I went to my "Pedro's boys' comfort zone".

Joel Miller:

Joel is shaking with anger. He clenches his jaw and fists. It's not just about you, but also about Sarah. His blood boils at the thought that his beloved daughter's future husband could be such an idiot as this Christians perverts. Joel feels like breaking something. He'd break that dick's hands if he even tried to touch his daughter.

I, for one, believe your dissertation on plurality to be greatly insightful and intriguing. We didn’t know before reading this, but my host and I tend to do the “inhabitation” thing, as well, on complete accident! I tend to call it “projection,” though.

Aster will be holding a pillow pet, as they need to be cuddling something when they sleep. I pretend I’m the one being cuddled, and then I “project” myself onto the stuffed toy on accident. Now my host is holding me, and it really feels like it to both of us!

They said it was “endo bullshit,” but I’m saying this because this system is traumagenic in origin and I am also a tulpa. Maybe it’s just that they’re intentionally misunderstanding you, and haven’t even tried it.

I love my singlet partner but he's so oblivious to the difficulties that come with being a system.

He tries to be supportive but it doesn't land. I try to vent to him but then I end up having to educate him about my disorder and how our system works because he doesn't understand anything. It comes from a good place but it's frustrating.

I don't feel like I can speak about my struggles as a system to him because it will always end with him trying to google stuff that I'm talking about, instead of just listening.

If I tell him that I have no memory of an event or a day, he'll tell me that I can just ask him about it. If I open up and tell him that, currently, I don't know who I am and my identity is just blurry, he'll just act confused and ask why we can't just know who we are. Once again, it's nice. He's trying. But it's frustrating.

It reminds me of that disabled person who spoke about how their flatmates are always willing to help them reach/do stuff they can't in their own house. It's sweet but holy shit. I just want to be able to do things by myself. I want to be able to talk about my day and not have to go on a tangent to explain what emotional amnesia is.

It doesn't help that he says that he'll educate himself more on CDDs so that I don't have to do all the work but he still doesn't understand that even our host is an alter. To be honest, I don't think he understands that DID is more than just having multiple blorbos in one brain, no matter how much we try to talk about our symptoms.

🗝️🏷️ flashbacks, slight RAMCOA (somewhere between MC and plain neglect)

Spilled a bowl of soup on my lap today. I wanted to shower as soon as I got home, but someone was in there, and it soaked through and dried. On one hand, eeww sticky bad texture get it off. On the other hand, the squash smell actually overrides the smell of the chicken flashback, which has been on repeat since making the soup.

Also, butternut squash tastes like cantaloupe with less sweetness, which I learned today. Sometimes we have to make tradeoffs, which today looked like telling a littlie they could not pick out their own canned dog food (which they perceived as cruel because they believed dog food was the best option they would have, and we do not keep dog food because we do not have a dog), but that they could eat anything raw in small enough portions to not get sick. They choose squash.

Idk if that’s CDD joy, but it was oddly calm and peaceful. Mundane, the way I imagine communal living should be. The birds were literally chirping in the background.

You don’t have to answer of course I’m just curious about your perspective is all.

This is going to be controversial (i don't know) but we're not really that anti-endo. We just have a complex stance and kind of never know how to label it properly! We mostly use anti-endo because we want to interact with other CDD systems (because we are a DID system).

If a endo reblogged/liked/whatever something of ours, used an asset we made, ect, it wouldn't bother us inherently.

We don't hate endos or something, but we do have a complicated stance that I'd be willing to DM about, if u ever want to come out of anon. We just wont go further because we don't like syscourse!

In our DNI it should really be a more 'no syscourse' thing than 'anti-endo'.

💚 - do you have a high or low split tolerance? Something in the middle? I don't know how to describe it.

💙 - do you switch frequently or do you go longer periods between switching? Depends on what's happening....when it's calm around, we stay still in front

💜 - does your system have introjects of any kind? Yeah, we do. Osamu Dazai from BSD, Kindred ( and both Lamb and Wolf separately) from LOL, Crowley from GO and more

⚡️ - what does switching feel like for you? does it vary between alters? It's mostly a strong headache, zone out sometimes, and that's it

☄️ - do you experience quick switches or does it take longer to switch usually? Those are rather quick

🌈 - do you get frontstuck often? what do you do to try to get ‘un-stuck’? Yeah, Ashton does. But we do nothing about it, he kinda enjoys that, he's alone there and it's perfect for him

🌱 - do you have a headspace? if yes, describe it! if no, do you want one? We do have one, finally! It's a big planetarium with many hidden places, with planets exhibition, CCTV room and more!

🌿 - how easily accessed is your headspace? Everyone "works" there one way or another so they are there whenever they want

☘️ - is there a place in your headspace where dormant alters go? I don't know....maybe they go to the backrooms or the basement, idk

🌳 - do alters have their own rooms/areas in your headspace? They do have their areas like Chef and Bakerin are in the cafeteria, gatekeepers are in the guardians' room and more

we do, even a few names....some of them are just alters names like Ryuu, Ely or Nyx We are pansexual aromantic genderfluid Idk how that happened, it just did

I've hit the 3rd ep for all of the things I'm watching (except for 1 but shhh). Crazy. As per the rule, I guess I'll write down my thoughts for them now.

Atarashii Joushi; Fun and heartwarming in a very tame sort of way. It reminded me of CDD a lot in the first episode, but I feel like it's really making itself stand out now. Also, the 3rd ep made me cry. wtf.

Bullbuster; Very interested to see where this goes with the island plot. I like the touch of realism for how the company operates. Kataoka is actually my fave character so far just because he has such a strong presence, lmao

Dekoboko Majo; It's your standard over the top gag anime (which I like! it's just stupid silly fun) I do like the allusion to a deeper plot though

Hypmic; I already loved Hypmic and I never even expected another season, so I already feel spoiled. I love how they're weaving all the divisions into the ongoing plot, it's actually done pretty well? Though the anime original group (TBH) feels a bit jammed into the story, but it's only natural when you've got something with a plot like hypmic (that's already jammed full with contrivances, lmao) Also, Dotsuitare Homos episode when? (probably next week. yippeee ^u^)

Kamierabi; It's starting to become apparent with the 3rd episode that the plot in this show. Might not be that great. But I love death / high stakes games, even if they're kinda shitty. The animation isn't nearly as bad as everyone wants you to believe though.

Kamonohashi Ron; Ron he is so sillay <3 I love detectives, I love buddy teamups, this is a winning combo in my book. Their banter is super manzai-like though, very dry / reaction based humour. Which I think is funny but not when overused (is this show overusing it? not rlly as of now thankfully). Also, very intrigued by what the hell happened to Ron

Kawagoe Boys Sing; Uhhhh this only has 2 eps rn but the 2nd one was already so much better than the first. I love IT kun and Otome kun, excited for the rest of the cast to be introduced Ok I've seen the 3rd one now and in the very first sentence from Adachi I heard it was Kimura Subaru. I'm so happy he's here!! It was a good call to get him for this show since he's a great singer (in English too so it was nice hearing him in the ed this time!) Just an aside I actually think it's really nice how cool everyone is with all the weird quirks the characters have. Like, they consistently see Otome's feminine traits as a genuinely cool thing, and it's such a breath of fresh air compared to other shows

Migi to Dali; This is def up there as my fave this season, I loved Sakamoto so I'm super happy that Sano san's other work got adapted as well. May she be freer where she is now. Her strange brand of humour will forever be one of my faves, and having it mixed with a mystery this time is like a dream come true

Undead Unluck; I'm watching this one w my brother and I'm glad, it's exactly the kind of stuff we tend to watch together. The animation for this one goes crazy hard btw.

Watashi no Oshi; I wasn't feeling the first 2 eps all that much (they were funny and had a few good moments, but they weren't fantastic or anything), but goddd the third one was so good... and the 4th was really funny. I'm enjoying this one more and more each week :) also the op is super catchy

Yonkyoudai; This one is really sweet, I love the usage of different animation styles to evoke certain emotions, and the way it often mimics children's drawings works so well for this story. I get all teary eyed watching this one every time...

What universe does my muse fit in, aside from their canon universe?

Teddie in a traditional 2d animated film? If he wasn’t cute before he would definitely be cuter now!

I want him to keep the teddy bear vibe by being a very small, fluffy bear. He can wear his fancy clothes so he’s a bit of a fusion between both of his forms. I think he would be very similar to Danny in that he’s also from a small town and moved to Hollywood to make it big. But since he’s still young, he’s living with a friend’s family in LA.

Teddie’s still cute enough to get away with simplistic dance moves. Can’t say the same for his singing, though. He’s still an awful singer. Maybe he can get his first big break doing commercials? He can be this world’s version of the Kodiak Bear!

•🕯We first used Simply Plural to organize our system, but after some of our notes dissapeared for no appearant reason, we moved on to Discord. Discord's pretty great for logging whatever you want, as you can personalize channels to your own liking. Bots like Octocon, Pluralkit or Tupperbox can be used for proxying, which is easier to communicate as well.

• 🗝 Used to be very consistent, but noticed it was pretty hard to constantly keep track of. For example, when you were in the middle of class. At some point we just said "fuck it" this is too much effort. And honestly, we like it better that way.

• 🔮 That kind of depends. Most of our fictives enjoy sourcemates as they feel familiar in a world that's somewhat unfamiliar to them. But there are exceptions, for example things that happened in source that may leave certain alters more hesitant to interact with certain sourcemates.

• 🐇 We use all of these, actually. But the one we use most is Picrew. Picrew generally has a lot of options, but can be limited sometimes.

•🎻 A song that immediatly pops up in my head is Echo by Crusher-P.

• 🎀 It's crap, because we simply don't care to organize it, despite us being pretty organized as a whole.

• 🌘 We all have different preferences, but the majority of us likes pastels and earthy colors.

• 🗡 Me personally, I like to dress sporty or casual. But I'm also a big fan of grunge and scene clothes. As for the parts who have the most distinct style, I think Shadow and Doll. Shadow often dresses in all black and Doll dresses pretty colorful.

• 🍓 To me, Zack. I think our music tastes are kind of similar in that regard.

• 🐠 Honestly, the physical symptoms that come with it when we switch or dissociate. We always wondered why we had so many headaches or why we felt so exhausted all the time. For the longest time, we had no idea where all those things came from. Of course, it also goes paired with our depression & autism.

• 🍄 Chores, especially when alters front who don't like doing them or simply don't know how to do them.

• 🌙 I don't really have one, but I'd probably handle it the same way as Cosmos and Eugene explained things to me. They helped me out a lot in the beginning, which I'm really thankful for. They answered questions I had and explained things in detail. But also, bring things slow not to overwhelm someone.

• 🌱 Collectively, there are some foods we all pretty much like or dislike, but there are also alters with really specific tastes. One may not like sweets as much, the other hates strawberries, then another really dislikes meat while the majority loves it, you name it.

• 🍉 Our collective name is "The Bumblebee System." We decided on this idea because bees are very good communicators and work together. Something we strive to be like as a system. Our theme is mainly bees & sunflowers, but we now use a persona called Echo who represents our system as a whole.

• 💿 That having a CDD isn't all fun and games. Sure, it's nice to have different parts so now and then but it can also be very difficult to live with. The constant masking, trauma and dissociation can really be annoying. But then, also not being seen for just that. Someone who's broken and beyond repair, cause that's simply not true.
