Writing style, you say? Vibes you ask for?! I think it's like... crystallised honey at the bottom of the jar. Bright beams of slanted light cutting through the aching darkness. Blank white walls that can never be filled. Something that should be good, sweet or helpful or decorative, but pared down and stripped back until it's so direct and forceful that it hurts. Sugar too sweet, so it aches behind your teeth. Light so bright it feels like a knife through the head.

Wren's story in particular evokes such feelings of recognising how tiny you are in the face of an uncaring universe. Somehow claustrophobic as well as staring at the vastness and feeling like your pain doesn't matter to anyone but you. The "comfort" Daniel gives is the too-sweet honey. The light that cuts is his ability to save himself but everything that it cost him to get there. The blankness is all the time he lost that can never be undone.

2. How easy is it for your character to laugh?

Kai - Relatively easy! But not too much I think. It's just that he's already so upbeat and smiling all the time so laughing is like one step over that. You get what I mean?

Fross - Politely? Fairly easy if he respects you just a little and doesn't want to upset you. Genuinely? Not as much. He has to like you a lot for that, but then when that happens he totally becomes a giggly schoolboy with a crush lol.

4. How easy is it to earn their trust?

Kai - Hmmm easy? Kind of. I'm not sure. Because he tends to be optimistic and try to see the good in everyone around him, if it came down to it, he would probably consider you trustworthy until proven untrustworthy. But he's not careless either, he might be an oversharer but he's not gonna trust a stranger with sensitive information unless life itself depended on it or something. So he'd give you a chance but not rush too much into it.

Fross - Extremely hard lmao. I'm convinced it took Stanley at least 80 years to earn his trust and he was even helped by the fact that Fross enjoyed spending time in VR Las Vegas and got extremely lonely because he hated all of the other Zeniths. I guess he "trusted" Ted Faro once, but that was because he was parasocializing hard and the version of Faro he had in his head was deeply romanticized.

5. How easy is it to earn their mistrust?

Kai - Relatively easy if you know where to strike.

Fross - Very easy! I'd argue that mistrust is his default state. See above. Even when he gets really close to someone, he keeps expecting them to have ulterior motives or disappoint him in some other way (e.g. Kai).

9. Do they swear? Do they remember their first swear word?

Kai - Yes on both accounts! I'm not sure what his first swear word would be though? I'm thinking it was one he heard from his Focus and then kept repeating over and over for three weeks, much to his werak's chagrin lol. But I'd have to figure out what kind of holos Takuto would have saved in his Focus... It's not too far-fetched to think he might have learned his first swear word from Akechi himself which is a really funny idea to me.

Fross - Very rarely, I think. I don't think he would say them casually, but only if he really was pissed and trying to insult someone, if that makes sense? So that's very risky considering the circumstances which means he has to either just mutter it so they can't hear it or say them alone lol. Maybe he goes into his VR world and just yells swears for a while, that sounds healing. He definitely doesn't remember his first swear word but if I had to guess it was probably damn.

29.  Do they usually live up to their own ideals? 

Kai - He tries to, at least! He sticks to them most of the time but sometimes he slips in moments of extreme emotional distress. It's only natural.

Fross - No lol. His moral compass is a roulette wheel anyways so I'm not sure it's possible, haha. And he's also a massive hypocrite, there's that.

E) Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you?

Unfortunately they would both really hate my guts :( As for whether I would like them, I don't know about Fross but at least I do wish Kai were real 💔

F) What do you feel when you think of your OC (pride, excitement, frustration, etc)?

Depends on my mood lol. A lot of the times it's pride or excitement, occasionally it's self-recognition through the other (derogatory) which leads to actual anger and hurt and even hate lol. Sometimes it's [redacted] and sometimes it's love and care and appreciation and warmth and comfort, and sometimes it's even pity lol. When I say they're everything to me, I really mean it, haha. They make me feel the full spectrum of human emotion, even jealousy lmao. But maybe this question wasn't looking for a literal answer but more like an average :?

H) What trait do you admire most?

For Kai, it'd probably be easier to list what I don't admire about him, lol. But I guess it's just what I admire most 🤔 Soooo, probably his determination, his optimism, his can-do attitude. I like how well he plays the role of a hero. He really has the vibes of a leader who's the glue that keeps the team together. And I love that. He really inspires me in so many ways.

I guess this is gonna sound weird, but I really admire Fross's will to live. I always have. At this point I'm convinced that the only reason he survives so much shit he shouldn't be able to survive is because he really wants to (or maybe because evil never dies lol).

But, more importantly, even when everyone hates him, even when he's at his most despairing, even when it seems like he has nothing left to live for, he has this conviction that he deserves to live a good life, no matter how long it takes to find it. He knows it's unfair that the apocalypse happened during his time. And he's so sure that he deserves just as much as anybody else...

Obviously this is a problem for him because he's so ready and willing to step on whoever he needs to make his ideal life happen that it gets in his own way. He's willing to put his own right to live over an entire planet's right to live. But it's so impressive to me because it's like he's constantly drawing from a bottomless well, clinging to life, to his right to exist, even when everyone around him desperately wants him to keel over and die. I have to wonder where he got it from.

Beyond the sentimental stuff, though, this places him in direct opposition to the self-sacrificial characters around him (Aloy, Kai, Lis), which I think is cool.

I think the anon should realise it's called real person FICTION for a reason. things in RPF are made up, and by that extent, characters are too. That means even though authors borrow real people's names and sometimes make references to real events, at the end of the day, the character in RPF works are not the actual people themselves. Which is why I'm completely ok with reading fics involving drivers that are not top of my favourites/I don't know that much about if the summary of the work interests me a lot, like I personally do not really care much for Esteban outside of the fact that he, Pierre and Charles did spend quite a lot of time together in karting as they are French/French-adjacent, but I'm okay with trying reading say, Pierresteban fics from time to time. Or perhaps the fics come from a writer whose other works I enjoyed reading and I think, ok this fic's ideas, characterisation etc will most likely be good. Because these drivers in the fics aren't 100% representative of the actual drivers.

That being said, I'd understand if a driver's certain IRL actions disgust you so much that you can't bring yourself to read fics that involve that driver, like for me, I really can't bring myself to read anything involving Mazep*n. BUT that doesn't mean I can, or should, impose my belief onto others. Everyone being free to enjoy and curate their experience both here and on Tumblr is what makes fandom experience healthy.

as for that last paragraph of yours about not imposing one's beliefs onto others, and curating your own experience: i know i've said it a lot in this reply, but EXACTLY. fandom should be about fun, and the second one tries to force things onto other people, it stops being fun. i feel like a lot of this fandom's nastier anons lately are hiding behind the anon button purely to ruin other people's experience, which i find both a completely baffling thing to want to do, firstly, but also incredibly cowardly. it's like they know they're in the wrong, so they're relying on anonymity just to try and ruin someone's day.

I just wanted to say, you're such a sweet and thoughtful person for always thinking about other people and trying to brighten their day up a little and I don't think you hear it enough. I'm sure you're a great friend to have in real life, and your friends are really lucky to have you.

after a big event where I felt manipulated by her, I lost some of my 'heart' for her and every day listening to her texts felt like a chore and made me feel trapped.

Came to a point where I hated the sound of a text notification because I dreaded if it was her.

Dude, she even got mad at me once because I didn't ask, "how are you?" after she visited my house.

Like, she arrived back to her home after visiting me, right? I get a text message later that day saying

"thanks a lot for asking how I am" (sarcastic)

when I first received that text, my first thought was

"Am I obliged to ask you how you are?"

and I hated her so much in that moment.

Bro, she's the reason I bought the book, "How to Deal With Difficult People" by Bo Sanchez 😂

I read that book and one advice from that book was to love them from a distance and to distance yourself from them cause you can't truly love a person who hurts you 😄(plus you're just enabling their toxic behavior which isn't helping either of you in the long run - but that's my opinion for another day-)

(inserting these excerpts because it gives me nostalgia looking back at them 😂)

That book helped me decide that I was going to distance myself from her. There were actually several 'ways' that book suggested in dealing with a toxic person. One of them was confrontation and another was gradually distancing (not meeting them if you can help it, etc.)

Me, being the person who hates confrontation at the time naturally went with the less...'scary option.' 😂🤭

I decided to distance myself gradually.

GIRL I KID YOU NOT. I was so anxious at ignoring her texts.

It was hard for me to not respond to her text for even a single day.

Like. Bro. Not responding to a text for a day felt like a milestone.

iirc there was even a time where ignoring her text for an hour felt like an accomplishment.

eventually, after lots of praying, crying, contemplating, hating her secretly that it ate me inside to overlook her annoying remarks (like when she made fun of me for my weight🤣), I eventually confronted her at like 2 am.

I sent her a text explaining why I've grown distant, my honest feelings, and that I wanted to take a break from her as a friend.

I fell asleep. Checked my phone again in the morning. Saw that she replied.

AND BRO. It took me like...a while. just. to. open. her. reply.

I opened it.

She apologized actually and said she understood.

Had a big 'THANK YOU GOD!!' moment. I was celebrating, dancing, screaming inside because I. literally. felt. so. free.

There hadn't been a single moment of rest at the Base since Tilda and Fross had betrayed Far Zenith and become unofficial members of the GAIA gang. Artekai still went out to hunt and train every day, yes — but he didn't go far, choosing to spend more time at the base than ever before. Now that his boyfriend was around full-time and the infiltration of the Far Zenith base was drawing nearer with each passing minute, he knew there was no time to waste. He and Fross were now attached at the hip, the way Artekai had only been with two different people before him. And with Varl, GAIA, and Beta gone, the only laughter that was heard at the Base was theirs. Whenever Kai was around, Fross could be found either sitting on his lap, or perched on his back, or happily settled between his arms. They spoke in hushed tones, but their bright smiles were almost contagious as their giggles filled the silence — even Fross, who usually took up very little space, let himself laugh loudly and messily, with that little scrunch of his nose that betrayed genuine happiness. Despite the gravity of the situation, Aloy couldn't help but be glad to see Artekai acting like his old self again. Tilda herself hadn't seen Fross laugh like that around anyone other than Stanley Chen. It wasn't that they weren't capable of being serious or even quiet at times, but that was how Erend found them after he had left his seat for two seconds. Apparently, he couldn't look away, because, as soon as he came back, Artekai and Fross had already taken his place, sitting in front of each other as they giggled between kisses. Honestly, he had no idea what they found so funny all of the time, so he assumed they were simply addicted to one another. "Again, seriously?" He said. "Come on... get a room, you two!" This only made them giggle harder, and Artekai had to stop kissing Fross to smirk at Erend and lift a brow. "Cranky 'cause you don't have a cute Zenith boyfriend like mine, huh?" Fross's smile widened, as he buried his face into the crook of Kai's neck. "Let him be jealous, dear. We have each other." "Yeah. You know what?" Kai stood up, effortlessly lifting Fross up with him and placing him against his shoulder. "We will go get a room, thanks, Erend." As Kai quickly headed towards the stairs that led to the control room, he giggled again, but Fross simply gave Erend a smug look and a middle finger, sticking his tongue out. Even if Erend had not been studying the Old Ones long before now, the intentions of that gesture would have been pretty clear. "Young love." Tilda mused, nearly jumpscaring Erend. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" "Uh." Erend scratched the back of his neck, grumbling. "It's not exactly young, but whatever." That was the end of the conversation, but Erend still let out a sigh, knowing he had probably just enabled Kai and Fross even more. You win some, you lose some, he guessed.
