Synthetic Leather Market | A Comprehensive Analysis of the Global Landscape
The global synthetic leather market is anticipated to reach USD 66.24 billion by 2030 and is projected to grow at a CAGR of 7.87% from 2024 to 2030, according to a new report by Grand View Research, Inc. Growing awareness among consumers regarding animal exploitation, aided by programs run by organizations such as PETA, has played a major role in increasing the demand for leather alternatives. The growing supply-demand gap in the natural leather industry is also a major factor responsible for manufacturers opting for synthetic or artificial leather. Furthermore, natural leather is obtained from animals, which has resulted in animal killings. There have been various guidelines and laws established by various countries to protect animal rights. Animal rights laws have become a major hurdle for natural leather manufacturers in several countries.

Synthetic Leather Market Report Highlights
The automotive application segment is anticipated to grow at a CAGR of 8.9% over the forecast period.  Synthetic leather is used in several automotive applications such as upholstery, dashboards, headliners, seat belts, airbags, and floor & trunk carpets. It is employed in passenger vehicles, light & commercial vehicles, heavy trucks, and buses & coaches as it is lighter than real leather. Its high elasticity enables passenger comfort in addition to providing resistance against hot & cold temperatures and spillage. The product also increases the durability of automotive interiors and reduces maintenance requirements
The PU synthetic leather segment held the largest market share of 60.8% in 2023. PU leather has good elasticity, resistance to solvents, high tensile strength, and skin abrasion resistance. These properties have been a major help in increasing its market penetration in the automotive, footwear, and furnishing sectors
Asia Pacific dominated the synthetic leather market. China is the largest market for synthetic leather in Asia Pacific. It is also among the major consumers of leather in primary application segments such as automotive, furnishing, and clothing. Automotive and footwear industry, which are vital application segments for synthetic leather, are witnessing a rapid growth in the country. China mainly imports synthetic leather from India, Korea, and Italy
In December 2021, Dow, a U.S.-based company, announced the launch of LUXSENSE, a silicone synthetic leather. It is the world's first high-end silicone synthetic leather material designed to meet specifications in furniture, wearable devices, fashion, transportation seating and interiors, and consumer electronics, offering unique features

Manufacturing activities of natural leather, especially tanning, lead to pollution of the nearby surroundings. This is another major reason leading to the shift in preference toward synthetic leather. Stringent environmental laws and government regulations have been influential in promoting the demand for synthetic leather.
India is among the world’s top five producers of leather. However, the Central government of India has banned the slaughter of cows for meat and leather, which has adversely affected the leather industry in the country. Most of India’s leather and meat industry comprises unorganized players, owing to which a reduction in the annual production from these industries is not feasible to estimate. The market situation has widened the demand-supply gap of genuine leather, which is expected to supplement the India PU market’s growth over the forecast period.

hey. hey. i cannot make any inroads on your ethics but hey. hey listen. if you nod along with posts like this one
Tumblr media
look into how this stuff is processed sometime 👍
i mean, full disclosure: i do genuinely think “i love animal products ❤️ they’re biodegradable” is kind of antivegan cope because, you know, no one ever seems to be talking about natural plant fibers versus synthetics in these contexts— despite the fact that, on average, they comprise significantly more of your wardrobe and significantly more of your short-term, short-life garments— but also, and more importantly: i do not know what kind of beautiful little production chain is being imagined here, but the idea that you go from sheep or cow or so on to your wardrobe to the compost heap to fresh soil in 5-15 years, zero environmental impact, is really out of touch with most factors of consumption. leather for example can be biodegradable, but a lot of processed leather takes significantly longer to decompose— not as long as pvc, but longer than you use it for— due to the nature of its treatment. if you buy leather goods you are virtually never buying untreated leather; tanning is a chemical process with pretty significant environmental consequences. if you are getting for example a wool coat, the odds that you can afford a 100% wool coat as opposed to a wool-synthetic blend are pretty low; same with sweaters. so maybe you thrift a leather jacket or a vintage 100% wool sweater and get some use out of it. you buy a pair of leather shoes and feel good about it. hey, their treatment and soles probably biodegrade too right? and without any lasting impacts on the environment? and maybe you overcorrect for “vegan item!!” fast fashion greenwashing and end up with items which are pretty much exactly as non-biodegradable as their plastic equivalents, and exactly as short-lived because the quality of low-budget manufacturing these days seems to be constantly getting worse.
i don’t mean to scaremonger or whatever— there really isn’t much of a way out of this unless you have some serious cash to spend. but the idea of a totemic Ecologically Good category of material is obviously out of touch with how most people in the world get their clothes and loudly praising a product which is not actually in practice guaranteed to be better than its plastic substitute is oddly common on this website. cmon there isn’t even a character limit. there’s space to actually say something useful

Kirigakure Worldbuilding II - Specialties
Tumblr media
Inspired by a recent conversation I had with @pxssy-stuntin-for-itxchi, I got wanted to add more to my Kirigakure worldbuiling post!
Tumblr media
Food Preservation Since except for a month during the winter, it never really gets cold in Kirigakure. This has lead to its citizens becoming very creative at enhancing the shelf life of the food that they have. Meat/fish is dry-aged and smoked, fruits are turned into preserve, cheong, or slow-dried. Dairy is a luxury in the water realm, so there are a lot of plant based dairy alternatives already, so it’s no surprise the wave realm has a quite big vegetarian and vegan population. Even though their spice tolerance is not the highest, when talking SALT tolerance, no village can beat Kiri. They are VERY generous with salting their food. In order to get a smokey flavor to any dish, you can obtain smoked salt everywhere in the country. The water realm was the first region the come up with the concept of fermentation of food. Milk is turned into yoghurt and cabbage is turned into kimchi and its more popular variant - sauerkraut. Fun fact: Suigetsu comes from a high ranking caste, so he actually was able to afford dairy yoghurt and jello with actual gelatine, and they're his favorite foods.
Tumblr media
Kimchi and Sauerkraut
The general spice tolerance of Kiri citizens is not the highest across the shinobi world, so kimchi is mostly exported to Konoha and Suna. The cabbage grown in the water realm is specifically bred to be extra heat resistant and crunchy. In order to cut down on waste, the excess is turned into sauerkraut juice. To put less of a strain on the public healthcare system, the water realm government has issued its citizens to exercise and eat healthy – especially children. To get more children to drink sauerkraut juice, it is produced in portable, biodegradable little juice boxes which are handed out for free in the Kirigakure academy. Every Kiri genin has tasted it atleast once. Scurvy was once a big problem for most shinobi going on long term stealth missionas, since most just lived off dried meat and crackers, except for Kiri Nin, since they always carry sauerkraut juice (and kumquats) with them.
Tumblr media
Fruit
Mangos: With their sweet and fruity taste, they’re popular amongst children, especially when dried, rolled into balls with an added sugar crust. While other countries see them as a special treat they’re a staple in Kiri. Papaya: Another Kiri staple. It is eaten either as a fruit in its orange form or in its green form in more hearty dishes. The seeds are ground and sold as a pepper alternative. Its extracts of the are used by the Kiri beauty industry, which is the biggest one, closely followed by Suna's beauty industry. Peaches: Often grown on the mountaintops of the water realm, they’re loved all over the country. Peach trees are seen as a sign of fertility, renewal and good luck. The pits are turned into persipan, which many foreigners don't like. Durian: Those stinky fruit are banned in Kiri’s public spaces. However, it is still the most popular fruit overall, so only a few get exported yearly, much to the other countries' durian lovers' chagrin. Jackfruit: Not a lot of Kiri citizens like its fleshy texture but it is often used as meat alternative by Kiri’s large plant-based population. Lychee: They’re often sugared and canned, or added to jelly. They're amongst the most popular fruit to make cheong with.
Kumquat: Kiri nin love them because they’re basically easily portable, vitamin c filled snacks. Other honorable mentions include: Rambutan, Mangosteen, Starfruit, Cherimoya, Soursop, Yuzu and Tamarillo.
Tumblr media
Jelly If you’ve read my last post on Kiri specialties, you probably know that instead of manufactured candy, Sweet tooths (teeth?) in Kiri chomp down on dried fruit, fermented sugary sticky rice and – jelly. Gelatine, like most non fish animal products, is a luxury so most jellies are made with agar-agar, a plant based “gelatine”. Just take some fruit juice and set it with agar – and there you have jelly. Most foreigners find Kiri’s obsession with jelly pudding off-putting, but that doesn’t stop them. Fun fact: Suigetsu comes from a high ranking caste, so he actually was able to afford dairy yoghurt and jello with actual gelatine, and they're his favorite foods. Non food fun fact: As genetic engineering gets more advanced and Kirigakure already having no issues using bacteria, they're also the biggest exporter of nutrient agar for agar plates which are used for the cultivation of bacteria and funghi. Kigakure is the leading village when it comes to biological and medical advancements, which is why Orochimaru has visited very often (and eventually ran into Kimimaro)

You need to consume unsaturated fats or you'll feel slow, fatigued, and never want to do anything.
You have to learn the healthy fats and eat the healthy fats if you're committed to being vegetarian or vegan. Or you will be tired forever, and not the type of tired where you can push through it, but the type of tired where you feel like you have to stay in bed all day and your heart feels like it's being sucked through a straw.
Fatty acids are what lipids in our bodies are made mostly up of. Fatty acids are responsible for energy storage, brain development, blood clotting, and controlling inflammation. They are necessary for your body to be able to absorb vitamins such as vitamin A, D, E, and K. They are necessary for your body to produce sex hormones like testosterone and estrogen. Not having enough of these fats can cause muscle pain, night blindness, infertility, easy bruising, dry hair, hair loss, loose teeth, depression and anxiety, and dermatitis (presenting as dry and scaly rashes).
You need unsaturated fats such as monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. These are good fats. Saturated fats and trans fats are bad, these are what raise your risk of heart attacks and strokes. Diets high in saturated fats might also lead to chronic pain.
35% of your caloric intake should be fats. This can be added to the list on why the diet industry is so cruel. Manufacturers and organizations paired with the pornography and cosmetic industry pushing dieting and beauty norms on women and girls for decades impressed the seriously dangerous and false idea that consuming fats was bad. Denying healthy fats means denying healthy brain development, energy and motivation, better ability to heal from injuries, and preventing depression and anxiety.
Tumblr media
Balsamic and olive oil together (and you can add some minced garlic if you like) tastes fantastic with warm bread and can be made in 12 minutes.
Cooking with the oils above instead of butter can also introduce fatty acids in your diet (might not be enough though, you need 1-2 tablespoons a day).
Sometimes if I'm in a hurry I just eat a plain avocado a day.
You can sprinkle chia seeds on yogurt. Add flax seed to smoothies.
Just eat 1/4th of pumpkin seeds too (which are also super high in magnesium). That's basically a handful a day, make it part of your morning routine.
Almonds, walnuts, and pecans are also high in good fats.

Modern Academic AU pt3
All this because I couldn't stop thinking about what kinds of classes Professor Raphael would teach... He's laughing up at me from hell, I just know it.
part 1 and part 2
------------------------------
Kagha (by request!) - Environmental Science. Will only teach courses about political lobbying and activism. She's also a militant vegan and active member of PETA, and won't shut up about it.
Dammon - College of Engineering. Teaches "Advanced Manufacturing Processes" and "Finite Element Analysis", and runs the machining shop. Also teaches a metal sculpture class when there's room in the Art School's budget. He's one of the faculty liaisons for several LGBTQA+ orgs on campus as well, and is completely oblivious to the fact he has a fan club (which is for the best, really)
Zevlor - Campus Security. A retired Green Beret who refuses to talk about his time in the service, he's well liked by most faculty and known to be a bit of an old school charmer. LOTS of rumors and speculation about what kind of injury got him discharged, and how he got it.
Barcus - College of Engineering. He teaches classes on Thermodynamics and Process Design & Safety. Has no idea how popular and well-liked he is by both students and staff.
Wulbren - Chemical Engineering Dep't Chair. He's brilliant, but also an asshole, and is constantly trying to weasel more grant money for his research into ethically questionable chemical compound modifications. Also makes his TAs teach all his classes for him.
Lorroakan - English Dep't Chair. Thinks he's hot shit for it but really no one else wanted the job. He makes his TAs teach all his classes AND do all his admin work, so he can spend all his time (and the department's money) on schmoozing with alumni and donors.
Blurg - Environmental Science. Isn't that great of a teacher but it's required for keeping the research grants coming in. Thankfully his passion and enthusiasm for topics like Sustainability in Agriculture make up for his shortcomings.
Omeluum - They're actually Bluurg's research partner and not technically a member of faculty, though they also act as his unofficial TA because otherwise Bluurg's course work interferes with their research timelines.
Nine-Fingers Keene (by request) - School of Business. Her classes are all advanced level and titled things like "Gaining The Competitive Edge". She also runs an entrepreneurial outreach program for young women seeking to start their own businesses.
Dame Aylin - VP of Diversity and Inclusion. She's very passionate about her job and a VERY vocal advocate for social justice issues like inclusivity, diversity, and accessibility. Completely incapable of keeping her personal life separate from her professional one, as she's a devout believer in leading by example.
Isobel - School RN. Is fiercely protective of students right to medical privacy and access to judgment free care, but is much better known on campus for being Dame Aylin's wife.
The Emperor - Board of Trustees. Outwardly just an ordinary Trustee, generally pleasant to interact with and actually rather good at rubbing elbows with students, faculty, and admin alike. There's just something off about them, enough that they've had multiple audits and inquests over the years despite nobody ever being able to find any actual signs of misconduct.
------------------------------
Sorry this set took a bit longer to figure out. A bunch of these characters were a real challenge to fit into roles that actually exist in reality, and I had to do a bit of research to find out wtf kinds of classes or departments certain fields of study even have. Ah, the things we do for the blorbos, amirite?

Do you have any specific tips on learning to keep kosher? Advice like what dairy substitutes work best or a reliable place to get recipes would be great. I grew up in a house that mixes dairy and meat for most meals so any help would be greatly appreciated. If you've already answered this, could you give a link to the post? I couldn't find one, but that might be because tumblr's search function doesn't work.
Sure! Here is a post I made about keeping kosher. Substitutes are your best friend. If a recipe calls for butter, using vegetable oil instead could be better if you're eating it with a meat meal. Margarine is also a great substitute when making baked goods. Mixing lemon juice with a nut milk gives you buttermilk.
In brownies, using orange juice instead of milk makes the flavor really pop. I love doing this on shabbat so I can have a dessert after a meat meal. You could also just use any other nut milk, or oat milk (just make sure it has a pareve symbol on it, I've seen some oat milks that are still OU D because it's sometimes manufactured in dairy machines or factories). Pareve chocolate is a miracle to be appreciated. Using egg noodles or zucchini noodles are great when you want to have a meat-based dish, and pareve bread for meat-based sandwiches.
I love using vegan or vegetarian plant-based meats in my dishes.* For example, I use vegan ground beef in my lasagna, so I can still use regular noodles and cheese. Plant-based chicken is also great for skillets or pasta. You could also just use fish instead, as it's considered pareve. I don't like the taste of vegan cheese, so I'd much rather use real cheese and vegan meat, but it's always an option. If you don't have meat but still want a filling meal, using grains such as quinoa, or starches like potatoes, can help with that.
As for finding recipes, there are a few kosher cooking blogs online. To find things I usually just search whatever food I want followed by "kosher" and it's usually there. If I can't find a recipe for it, I use a regular recipe with the above substitutes to make it kosher. Buying kosher cookbooks is also a good idea. I don't recommend just searching for "jewish cookbooks" because sometimes those include non-kosher dishes, so search specifically for kosher cookbooks.
*Some Jews have customs that don't allow them to eat vegan meats due to abiding by the spirit of the law, and the fact that the appearance of eating something not kosher could mislead others. It is best to discuss this with your rabbi if you think this may be an issue.

Q “How do you tell if someone is a vegan?”
A: “You don’t have to, they’ll tell you.”
Maybe it’s jokes like that, highlighting society’s stereotypical view of vegans as arrogant virtue-signallers, that have led to a slump in demand for some plant-based alternatives to meat and dairy, as well as a slew of business failures among manufacturers of plant-based food – most recently Heather Mills’s company VBites, which has just announced it is going into administration.
Despite veganism being endorsed by a number of celebrities, such as the BBC’s controversial wildlife presenter Chris Packham, it doesn’t seem to have made much headway beyond those segments of the market that are either apocalyptic about climate change or fanatical about animal rights – or both. Perhaps much like Mr Packham himself.
Then there’s the argument that veganism is good for your health, which has been on an increasingly sticky wicket, deconstructed by books such as the award-winning The Great Plant Based Con by Jayne Buxton. There is also a growing backlash against ultra-processed foods, which many vegan products are.
But Ms Mills had the gall to blame “gaslighting” by the meat industry for the collapse of her vegan food empire. As a member of the meat “industry”, I take exception to that. Of course it is not really an industry at all in the UK – it is made up of family farms, in stark contrast to the public relations agencies promoting vegan diets.
Farmers have been hounded and smeared by radical vegan activists for years. I wrote in these pages back in September about Laura Corbett, the Gourmet Goat Farmer, who was targeted by vegan “activists” on social media. Her business was attacked by malicious Trip Advisor reviews.
Indeed, I would suggest that consumers have been put off by the taint of fanaticism surrounding vegan foods. Recent research has shown that omnivorous consumers are less likely to buy products if they are labelled with the V-word. While it is too early to consign veganism to the history books, I suspect when that history is written it will be seen as a fad that was rejected by the British public largely because the wild behaviour of its more extreme followers trashed the brand.
It always seemed unlikely that, after millennia evolving on an omnivorous meat-rich diet, we would then wholly abandon it. There is only one species that has ever done that: the panda. And that has not been an unqualified success.
If the vegans had wanted to actually persuade people to eat better, rather than hector them, they could have chosen a much less blunt message. But a more effective, nuanced approach, focused on stopping the harmful aspects of meat and dairy production, was not pursued and all livestock farmers were tarred with the same brush. This happened even after the positive environmental role of grass-based beef farmers was recognised by the authorities, as they began to be paid carbon credits for the net carbon they sequester.
We can’t allow vegans to continue to ruin the debate about food. We need a real food counter-revolution.

ITS REALLY BEEN A BARRAGE OF…STUFF…LATELY. WHAT KIND OF STUFF? BITS AND BOBS, TINSEL, A VERITABLE TONNAGE OF PURE SHEET ROCK, A CACAPHONY OF SLAMMING DOORS, DRYER LINT AND USED TISSUES, ASHES, ASHES, ASHES. THE REPETITION OF THE PHRASE “NOT DEAD YET,” ONE OR TWO MEWLING KITTENS? A LOT OF KINDS OF SHIT CAN FLY THROUGH ONE LONELY PLANET’S ATMOSPHERE, FAR MORE THAN IS POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO DODGE. SO…DON’T?
GEMINI: SOMETIMES YOU SINK YOUR TEETH OR TOES OR OTHER PROTRUDING BODY PARTS INTO SMALL GROOVES EXACTLY THE RIGHT SHAPE AND SIZE FOR SAID PARTS. IT FEELS SO GOOD - LIKE A SANDPAPER TONGUE BUT DRY AND PERFECT AND YOU ARE ABLE TO FORGET ALL THE POCKETS AND HOLES THAT DON’T FIT RIGHT. EACH DAY IS A NEW CHANCE TO FEEL LIKE A WELL MACHINED JIGSAW PUZZLE, HOWEVER, IF YOU SPEND ALL DAY SEARCHING FOR SUCH SLOTS YOU WILL FORGO ALL THE POSSIBLE PLEASURES OF MISALIGNMENT.
CANCER: IN AN ALLEYWAY BETWEEN TWO EMPTY HOUSES SITS A GILDED MIRROR NEXT TO A BAG OF TRASH. THE MIRROR AT SUCH AN ANGLE REFLECTS ONLY POWERLINES AND SKY WHILE ITS GARBAGE BESTIE GLINTS DARKLY AND STEAMS WHILE THE SUN SHINES. IF THESE WERE YOUR SCRYING TOOLS WHICH WOULD YOU COUNT ON? THE CLARITY OF GLAMOUR LAID WASTE? THAT’S THE OBVIOUS CHOICE, MIRRORS ARE WELL KNOWN SCRYING OBJECTS BUT I CAN TELL THE GARBAGE SEDUCES YOU WITH ITS LITERALISM AND VERACITY. THAT’S SOMETHING YOU MIGHT WANT TO UNPACK EVENTUALLY.
LEO: NO ONE CAN KNOW WHAT THEY’VE MISSED - THAT’S WHY FOMO IS A FAKE FEELING AND THE DEAD DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU ARE GRIEVING, THEY JUST WANT TO HANG OUT ON YOUR SHOULDER AND WATCH WHAT YOU ARE DOING BECAUSE YOU ARE THEIR BELOVED SIM AND THEY HOPE THAT YOU EAT BREAKFAST AND DON’T GET CRANKY. THEY JUST WANT YOU TO GO DANCING AT THE SIM CLUB WITH YOUR SIM MUSIC THAT IS NO LONGER COMPREHENSIBLE TO THOSE THAT HAVE SEEN THE ENTIRETY OF TIME AT ONCE. SO MAKE SURE YOUR CEREAL IS FIBER RICH AND YOUR SHOES HAVE GOOD INSOLES, YOU HAVE A LOT TO DO TODAY.

Based on the information provided in the search results, here are some recommended sustainable alternatives for work shoes and footwear aimed at the working class:
Recycled and Plant-Based Materials
Snibbs Work Shoes[1] - These slip-resistant work shoes utilize recycled cotton, recycled plastic, plant-based polyurethane, and corn starch for a sustainable and durable design suitable for long shifts.
Rothy's[3] - While not specifically work shoes, Rothy's makes stylish flats and sneakers from recycled plastic bottles and other renewable materials that could work for some workplaces.
Sauvs[5] - This brand blends recycled polyester with natural materials like rubber and cotton to create fashionable yet sustainable sneakers and shoes.
Secondhand and Repairable Options
Thrifting at places like Goodwill[5] - Buying secondhand shoes reduces waste and is a very affordable option for working class budgets.
Shoes with replaceable soles[5] - Opting for quality shoes where you can replace just the worn soles extends the lifespan and reduces the need to buy new shoes frequently.
Repairing existing shoes[2] - Having shoes resoled or repaired by a cobbler is a sustainable way to get more wear out of your current work footwear.
The key factors are looking for durable materials like recycled plastics and plant-based components, as well as prioritizing longevity through secondhand purchases, replaceable soles, and repairing shoes when possible[1][2][3][5]. This allows working class individuals to have sustainable footwear options that are affordable and designed to withstand tough workplace conditions over many years of use.

one thing i've found annoying about the last few years is like. yes, individual actions don't impact anything and yes most pollution comes from 7 dudes and we know their addresses. but they're not captain planet villains. they're not polluting for fun. they're polluting because it is profitable, and that's where your individual choices come in!
like i know vegans and vegetarians can be annoying (though tbh people who think vegans and vegetarians are annoying are often more annoying. I've encountered a lot more defensive paleo people than annoying vegans) but cutting down your meat intake is legitimately one of the things you can do that can help the planet. cutting down on your use of single use plastics or trying to use more sustainable stuff, not persuing fast fashion, eating more locally, these can all be really easy ways to slightly improve the world through individual actions.
and i feel like any time people point this out there's a lot of defensiveness-- what about people who need x, y, z-- and it's unnecessary. i was a vegetarian for like 15 years and stopped being one partially because i was iron deficient like every time i got blood work done. but i still try not to eat a lot of red meat. I'm not out here saying "if you don't do this you're bad" but "you should try not to do this, if you can." the "if you can" is important! and it can encompass "not feeling like it"-- there is no moral judgement.
there's a good innuendo studios video about the angry jack effect
youtube
and in this it's more about the right, but I've found it useful to start recognizing in myself. how much of the perceived arrogance of virtue signalling or veganism or x, y, z,
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
moralizing individual choices leads to people getting reactive when their own individual choices are brought into question (as any vaguely anti-makeup post on this website shows). but individual actions are what make up greater changes. consumer pressure and preference has led to cheaper cars being in high demand and fuel economy being something that automobile manufacturers are forced to consider, more than BIGGEST TRUCK
it seems overwhelming. it seems unfair to have to restrict yourself when you know people sweeping across the world are taking private jets all over. but you don't have to restrict yourself completely: you don't have to live like an ascetic monk. but getting into better, more sustainable habits can be fun and rewarding-- and often, in the long term, cheaper. If you want more outfits, it's way more fun to do goodwill clothing hauls and learn to visibly fix your clothing. when i was at my brokest, i basically lived a vegan diet (though if i have to see rice and beans again i might die). recycle cans at a center that gives you money back and use it to play the lottery or treat yourself. look up farm shares in your area and support local farms.
there is no ethical consumption after late capitalism: consumption by itself isn't activism, and your individual actions don't change anything. These are all true: but they cannot be mantras to let yourself make the world worse.

I have to say this
Might lose followers, but whatever. I was lurking around on reddit and saw some posts that made me scratch my head
First, I have no problem with people who are vegans, do whatever the hell you want with your health and personal choice for yourself.
Edit: And I understand not all people who following plant based diet are doing this but still But I don't get people who insist on feeding their dog vegan food??
Doing it for the environment? You are already contributing to minimizing the harm that is done to the environment by choosing a different diet. Why dragged the dog into this?
The pups are not involved, nor they understand the complexity of human diet, politics, morality, and the slow decay of the environment that is caused by human civilization.
Dogs doesn't have to make a penance for the environment.
Minimizing animal exploitation in huge farm? You can buy eggs from a free-range chicken source, catch your own fish, or buy meat from a local hunter or sustainable local farm
Still feeling uncomfortable to feed animal product to your dog? Maybe you should get a different pet? Like a rabbit? Or I don't know let your dog hunt on their own and let nature takes it course, it's not your fault. It's just nature doing its own thing.
Yeah, there's argument that you can give them supplement or vegan kibble for dog? But animal product is already there, just cut off the middle man and give your dog the real thing...
I mean yeah dog is omnivorous, but their diet is still more on the meat side, not to mention they came from wolves, they evolved to eat meat. Setting the argument of manufactured vegan dog food aside, why go out of your way preventing your dog from eating the meat that they like and beneficial for the pup because of your own personal politics/morality, it is just odd. Dogs likes meat/egg/fishes, why take away their food preference?
What would you do if doggie sees a chicken breast lying on their floor? Take away the chicken?
Reminded me of those parents who hardcore banned their kids from eating sweets. But it's even worse because in this case animal products are good for dogs and an important part of their diet unlike candies for humans, Dogs evolved to eat animal product, they cannot comprehend your reasoning for not allowing them to eat meat nor they care anyway. I have the same thoughts about dog race or dog beauty contest. Airbud doesn't care about medals, maaan...
Sounds pretty selfish to insist that a golden retriever cannot have chicken because of the owner personal morality/politics
Bonus:
Tumblr media
I'm sorry, but this is delusional, you mean by YOUR own choice

What is protein & Why do you need it in your diet?
When it comes to becoming a Fit Girl, adding protein to your diet is essential. 🍳 Protein helps keep you feeling full for longer, which can help you resist unhealthy snacks or overeating. Protein also helps you build muscle and keeps your energy levels up during workouts.
Protein is an important nutrient that helps our bodies function at their best. It’s in every cell of our body and helps build and repair muscles, bones, skin, hair👱‍♀️, and other tissues.
It also helps produce hormones and enzymes that regulate how we process food and the energy we get from it.
Tumblr media
Protein is especially important for young women who want to become or stay fit. Fitness goals like building muscle💪🏽, losing fat, gaining endurance, and maintaining a healthy weight require an adequate protein intake. You will see results much quicker that way.
It’s important to get enough—but not too much—protein in your diet. Eating large amounts of high-protein foods can lead to health issues over time, such as digestion problems.
How much protein to take then? It's the million dollar question💸 in fitness and health circles. Personally, I have found that 0.8–1g of protein per kilogram of body weight each day works for me. I see results from exercise and nutrition, and my digestion is fine. However, many sources recommend 0.8–1g per lbs of body weight per day or even more.
Because recommendations vary wildly (many scientific studies recommending a higher intake are funded by or connected to protein supplement manufacturers), I suggest tracking your protein intake for a few weeks and checking if you are seeing your desired results.✔️ If not, try upping your protein intake.
Tumblr media
Eating a variety of high-quality proteins, like lean poultry🍗 and fish, eggs🥚, beans, nuts, legumes and dairy products can help you get the right amount of protein. If you’re having trouble reaching your goals with food alone, consider adding a protein supplement🥛 to your diet. These are available for vegetarians and vegans too.
By incorporating the right amount of protein into your diet, you can reach your fitness goals and stay healthy at the same time✨. So don’t forget about this important nutrient when you’re planning your fit girl meals and snacks. Your body will thank you.
Good luck!
