The rain hit the window softly as you watched Tiktoks on your phone. There was traffic so the bus was behind schedule, and the rain wasn't helping. The window was cold, your coat was warm, and your head softly bumped against the window as the bus moved through the stop-n-go streets. The video you were watching was about a man pranking his girlfriend by hypnotizing her into doing his chores, and he showed you how to do the same.

"What a load of BS," You mumbled as you let your eyes slowly drift shut.

When you woke up, your phone flashed at 6:45 pm. You promised the boys you'd be at their dorm by 6 pm, but it was almost an hour past that! Luckily the rain seemed to have lightened up, so you dashed off the bus with your hood on toward the dorm. It was a three-minute walk, but you cut it down to 2 as you rushed around the street corners and j-walked.

You knocked on the door, following the secret pattern they'd taught you. The door unlocked and you pushed your way inside the warm apartment, letting the door shut behind you.

"Guys, I'm here!" You shouted out as you took off your shoes.

The sound of footsteps came toward you as you heard them talking to each other.

Shotaro's face was the first one you saw,  but the others were right behind him. He pulled you in for a hug, "Hey man, how's it going?"

You held him tight, "It's good! The rain died down for a second so I got here without getting soaked.

"That's good because it's supposed to be a storm the rest of the night," Wonbin said as he ate some of his chips.

Everyone muttered in agreement about the storm until you'd finished taking off your shoes and hanging up your coat.

"So, ready to hang for the weekend?" You cheered.

The boys all shouted in agreement.

You'd known all of Riize from training with them. They'd managed to get into the debut group, but you didn't. Not hard feelings, they'd always call and share their experiences with you at every step to make sure you didn't miss out on anything. Since they had no schedules for the weekend, they invited you over to catch up and play around with them.

The group gathered in the living room; drinks, snacks, games, and movies were laid out for the group on the table.

"So, what's first?" Eunseok asked.

Everyone looked at you for an answer.

You sighed, "How are all of you so indecisive? Fine, I'll choose!" You sat for a minute, trying to think of something fun for everyone. Wonbin would leave if we put on a scary movie, Sungchan gets a little too competitive at games, and you were running out of stuff to talk about. But then you remembered the Tiktok from the bus.

"Hey, check this out," You pulled out your phone and showed the video to everyone. "Should we try this?"

Everyone shrugged or gave a silent nod.

"You don't believe that stuff works, do you?" Anton asked.

"Well, no... But it'll be fun to try anyway, right?"

You collected a few things around the apartment that you'd need. A cup of water, a clock, and you borrowed Sungchan's weights since you needed something heavy.

"Now we need a volunteer," You put your hand out, waiting for one of the boys to speak.

But no one looked like they wanted to be first. "

If I go first, then will someone go after me?" You begged.

They all agreed that you'd go first. Sungchan gave you the weight to hold in your lap "to ground your spirit", Anton had several watches so he picked one of his at random, and Eunseok got the glass of water.

"Okay, you need to pick a trigger word for my hypnosis to trigger, but I can't know it. So figure something out," You covered your ears as you let them discuss with each other.

Soon, Wonbin tapped your arm, letting you know they picked something.

"Alright, so now I need to close my eyes and focus on the sound of the watch. Anton, hold it to my ear. And someone else does the talking."

You closed your eyes and felt Anton put the watch near your ear. Each tick was soft, so you had to focus on it to hear it. Then you relaxed completely, focusing on the sound in your ear, the ticking echoed in your brain.

"Y/n, you're now falling under our spell. Let go and trust us," Wonbin said as he read from the script from the video. "We're now entering your mind, and you're under our control. When we say sweetness, you'll follow any orders you get. The word is sweetness. At the snap of my fingers, you'll wake up and forget about this."

There was a snap. The sound of the watch faded and you opened your eyes.

"Well, did it work?" You looked around.

Sungchan shrugged, "Let's find out." He knocked the cup of water over, spilling it onto the table. "Sweetness, could you clean that mess up?"

Without a word, you stood and cleaned the table with your shirt. Mostly pushing the water around until it was absorbed completely into your clothes. You sat back down, the members staring at you in shock, and you blinked.

"Well, did it work?" You looked around, confused by everyone's faces. You were also suddenly cold, and wet, "Hey, when the hell–"

Sungchan spoke first, "I don't think it worked. I told you not to move and I threw the water on you, and you just let it hit you. Were you faking?"

You shook your head, "You did? I don't remember that."

The others exchanged looks of surprise at their sudden revelation. You were hypnotized and didn't know it.

Seunghan leaned on the table, "Maybe we should try again?"

"On the next person, I already went," You whined.

"Sweetness, please, go get another glass of water?" Seunghan asked, holding the cup out to you.

Again, without a word, you took the cup and filled it with cold water before giving it back to him and sitting down in your spot.

"So... Which one of you is going next?" You asked, oblivious to Seunghan's devilish smile.

Seunghan yawned, "Actually, this is boring. Let's do something else, right everyone?" He looked at the group, hinting at what he wanted and they all nodded in agreement.

The group decided to move on from your hypnosis and play card games instead. Uno first.

You slapped a card down, "Uno! I'm gonna win~"

Sungchan's ears were red as he still had almost twenty cards, "Sweetness, switch with me."

You handed him your one card in exchange for his twenty. Everyone watched in awe as you did it without arguing or fussing.

When you came back, you realized your hand was heavier than a moment ago. "How the fuck!?"

Anton picked up two cards and handed them to you, "You called 'Uno' when you have too many cards, you have to pick up two more!"

"But I... I had only one card–" You scratched your head trying to remember getting to twenty.

Sungchan won the game in the next round, but everyone seemed happy he won.

Next was the scary movie, The Conjuring.

Wonbin barely made it through the first 20 minutes without crying. You were sitting next to him, trying to enjoy the movie but he kept kicking you when he was scared.

"Bin, stop! I can't enjoy the movie," You nagged.

"Sweetness? Can you hold my hand?" Wonbin asked.

You held his hand unconsciously and kept watching, only to realize you were holding it when he almost crushed it to pieces.

Seunghan looked over to you, "Sweetness, Wonbin looks scared, you should hold him!"

You crawled over to Wonbin and wrapped your arms around his waist. His face went pink as he looked you in the eyes, which were empty as if you were asleep. You shifted to where he was slotted in between your legs as he lay on the arm of the couch, being pulled into you.

"When the fuck did you get so close?" You whispered at Wonbin.

He was too embarrassed to answer, only shrugging as he tried to look at the screen.

Now it was Truth or Dare.

"But you always pick the truth anyway," Sohee added.

You blinked as Shotaro went back to his seat, snickering to himself.

The group made Anton drink a hot sauce shot, Sungchan and Shotaro went to the bathroom together, and Wonbin dodged three challenges so he was three shots deep. Now it was your turn.

Anton asked, "Y/n, Truth or Dare?"

You opened your mouth, "Dare." You waited for your friends to boo you for picking the truth again, but then you realized what you'd said. "No, wait–"

"Too late! You said dare!" Shotaro cheered.

"I dare you, to kiss your favorite member," Anton blushed as he gave you his dare.

"No way! I'm not kissing any of you," You reached for the Soju bottle, but Eunseok stopped your hand.

"Someone text him, he'll look at his phone," Seunghan ordered.

an update on bringing ckc to google play

this is partially a rant and partially an update on how porting ckc has been, ((it's probably very boring so feel free to read the tldr)). after having gotten the entire pa series on the platform i thought this'd go smoother, but i guess i was wrong. every time we submitted the game for review we were notified of an issue (which is fair, google's got policies and standards and whatnot, that's okay, and these were very fixable, albeit, required a lot of guessing and checking given how vague the issue notifications were, i'm just frustrated with the last issue):

issue 1: inaccurate target audience. google play presumed the game was for kids for two reasons: "animated characters in the app icon" and "multiple references to keywords related to children" in the app description. which means can't have cody in the icon (i tried a few different versions of the icon where i tried to make him look less toony, but had to resort to using the ckc logo because it seemed google just wasn't having it, though it's hard to tell with how vague their emails were). i also removed as many instances of the word "kid" as possible (so yup, can't talk about cool kids in the app description). thankfully they didn't make me change the game's name too. after a few resubmissions they've notified us of a new issue.

issue 2: violation of misleading claims policy. okay this was my bad, the changed icon was reflected in the google play store but not the app itself. fixed this real quick, and then they hit me with another warning.

issue 3: violation of broken functionality policy, "app installs but doesn't load". the game does load on every testing environment we use, on our own phones, we can make in-app purchases and everything. we kinda saw this coming though since we were issued this warning with all the purrfect apawcalypse games. a lot of other devs who use renpy have also complained about this. andy and i are pretty convinced this is an issue on google's end, but no matter how much pestering the renpy community does it seems like google's not interested in trying to work with us to fix this. purrfect apawcalypse seemed to be approved randomly after spamming submissions, so we kind of assume something about google's testing environment depends on... what tester you got? the time of day you submit? the freakin' weather? we planned to submit ckc for review again until:

issue 4: violation of enforcement process policy. app status: "suspended". yup, hours after getting an email about issue #3, cool kid cody got suspended because of "repeated app rejections". surprising, given we submitted ckc a total of 7 times, which i just didn't think was a lot given the dozens of times we submitted purrfect apawcalypse.

there was no heads up from google, no "you've got 1 submission left", no real back and forth with a human, which i guess is to be expected from the giant machine that is google but man, i would've loved if someone emailed us saying "HEY DUMBASS, you keep submitting this game but we have an issue with THIS part specifically, this word here, this part of the image here", instead of the same "app installs, but doesn't load" vague bs. give us something to help us fix the issue. i'm happy to fix it, just give me a logcat or something damn.

anyway, all this is to say i'm pretty disappointed with this whole process. i've submitted an appeal and if that doesn't work then at least google told us "you can submit an updated, policy compliant app using a new package name and a new app name". (so i guess we might have to change the app's name anyway? who knows). what's sad is this game was so ready, and why was this an issue with ckc but not pa? maaaaaaaaan.

tldr: we're having trouble getting cool kid cody on google play, we put in an appeal but there's just no knowing when ckc will be approved if ever.

Episode 5 - Rants!

Okay, so, first off WHAT AN AMAZING EPISODE!

Putting spoilers below the cut just in case, and this is gonna be way out of order, but my brain is still firing on all cylinders lol.

So first off - Echo!

Our baby is back! And he is taking no shit which is just perfect. His reaction to Crosshair is interesting though. I imagine, with him having been with the 501st and around Jedi, he may well have heard 'the stories' about Jedi falling to the Dark Side and being welcomed back. He's also probably heard about Slick from Rex, and seeing other clones turn on the empire despite being loyal, he is likely more sympathetic towards Crosshair than the others.

The 'What, no hug for me?' did have me cackling though. Such snark, such sass. Cross and Echo are underrated as friends, honestly.

Omega on Pabu. That opening was so lovely, her cuddled up with Lula and being so happy! And I LOVE how when she leaves to find Crosshair, Wrecker and Hunter have an entire conversation just through facial expressions. They've been through so much together, they can read each other better than ever, and it's wonderful.

Crosshair and AZ! I love how much that little droid wants to help. Crosshair's line about Lyanna and Shep's ability to find him being 'uncanny' also made me smile. Shep is just a homing missile of care, and of course his daughter is going to be the same!

Him explaining sniping to Omega as well, her just being a sponge of information must remind him of Tech at least a little. Then Wrecker and Hunter peeking over the rocks. Sorry, had to laugh!

Wrecker telling Hunter that if Omega trusts Crosshair, that's enough for him. YES! He's not letting things go, but he's giving it a chance, unlike Mr Face Tattoo Grumpy Pants.

ANOTHER WHISTLE!!!!

Echo hug, and that is just wonderful. Not long enough, but hey, Echo's always been straight down to business.

Batcher's relationship with the moon-yos is also beautiful, them asleep on her by the table is just lovely!

The dining table scene, Tech mention, heartbreaking, but it shows there is still a void there. They're all aware, and all working to fill it, but it's still gaping and raw.

As soon as Crosshair said he knew an outpost, I was like, NO, THEY'RE GOING BACK TO BARTON IV *crying*

Then Wrecker giving him back the armour and the way Crosshair's eyes WIDEN when he sees it. Just UUUUUGH!

The 'little brother' moment and the chuckle made my heart SING. These two are just peak sibling and I AM HERE FOR IT!

And man, did I ever want them to turn up and Mayday be there, alive and having survived thanks to Crosshair and telling them all what he did and how amazing he was.

But Mayday's helmet, and Crosshair making a memorial to him with the rest of his squad beside him as well, it shows real growth, and THE MUSIC! Ooof!

Hunter being all side-eye-y by the door, what a dramatic bitch lol

Echo and Omega work so well together, and the tension between Crosshair and Hunter is ridiculous. Just fight already! And make it a good one!

So close, but Mama Echo stopped it lol

The entire scene with the wyrm was wonderful, from the beginning argument (I could write an entire novel on how much I love Crosshair calling Hunter out on his BS in a way no-one else does) and Hunter being an angry boi.

But the innate trust that comes out as soon as Hunter falls in that hole.

Also... 'HUNTER!!!!!' :')

The nods at the end, then loading onto the ship. I REALLY wanted Crosshair to tell Hunter about Mayday, that he shot the officer for a Reg, because they refused to help him. I wanted him to tell him how he was tortured, how he kept them safe.

I only hope Echo goes through the medical records and finds what they did to Crosshair, shows it to Hunter and they finally get a bit more understanding.

Overall, it was AMAZING!

My only gripe is with the perimeter - Hunter has enhanced senses but it seems like they write him like he can turn them on and off lol. If it's high pitched enough to keep the wyrm away AND bother Batcher, he's sure as hell going to be hearing it, helmet or not! And it wouldn't be pleasant!

But no, he has to look through his helmet to pick it up? Yeah, I call BS on that :P

But considering that is the only complaint I really have, 9.9/10!

in terms of personality, its all fairly standard. loyal, caring, attentive, patient, kind, loving, etc. the mental disorders will give them the rest of the traits i want (worships me)

Man, nonny, I...really hope I like her! I'm curious to see how they are going to differentiate her from Aloy's other (both in general and...One Very Specifically, lol) allies.

I was chatting it out with some folks--and I think it could be really compelling if she's a fierce and confident fighter, but quick to frustration, prone to overcompensation, maybe downright pessimistic at times? She looks pretty petulant at times in the trailer. Maybe this is her flaw and her room for growth throughout the plot of the DLC.

@finrays and I were tossing around the idea of her being a lower-level but ambitious grunt in the Quen marines, always passed over for rank promotions due to nepotism, etc. Has a chip on her shoulder because of it. This would set up some interesting initial friction with Aloy, who is...from a frustrated outsider's POV, especially an outsider who is versed in the Ancestors, the very definition of nepotism, lmao. "How could you know how this feels? You've always been important."

This could also set up an interesting potential for betrayal?? If either the or a big baddie is a higher-level Quen military person, they could ask Seyka to quit Aloy's meddling and she'll be rewarded with what she's always wanted--to rank up, to be Important. And hey, maybe she does betray Aloy. Maybe she betrays Aloy only to realize her mistake and then sacrifice herself to keep her alive. Maybe she says "screw you" to the baddie and sticks with Aloy.

In any case, definitely could be a cool dynamic. Aloy has never really been betrayed before in earnest, IMO. Tilda's scheme doesn't really count, and Sylens...sure, maybe with the lance, but I don't think Aloy has ever trusted him like she might trust Seyka eventually. That would be a nifty little twist.

Ooh, and yeah, maybe she takes that Focus from a Diviner friend (dead or alive).

And then there's the big question that everyone's been riled up about: Seyka as a love interest. I have--admittedly and predictably--many, many thoughts about this, most of them incoherent, I'll try to get some of them out. There are inclinations to suggest that maybe the DLC will lean in that direction? But they're all very, very vague. IMO--and I say this as a proponent of including romance in the series--I think it would be quite a....Very Choice, to enter Aloy into a deal-sealed canon romantic relationship with a character introduced in a console-specific DLC before the third game of the planned trilogy. What would work better, though, IMO? A couple options.

What we've always had. Meaningful glances/loaded gestures/everything we've seen for other fan favorites so far in ZD and FW. It'll seem more powerful in BS because the main-character base will be limited. But in comparison, it'll be similar to what we've been used to analyzing for years.

Aloy does develop an explicit crush on Seyka, but Seyka (probably very kindly!) rejects her? Which, like, POOR ALOY, but also an interesting character moment for her, I think.

Same as above, but the aforementioned betrayal/death deal gets in the way.

So like, am I calling her a stepping stone?? Maybe!! Who knows! Like I said, having a defined and sealed-deal thing moving into the final(?) would definitely be a storytelling risk, IMO. I feel like something so huge, character-wise, should be mainline story material.

I hope this was an at least half-coherent answer! My thoughts are very scattered as drop day approaches.

Snake and Ace Relationship Headcanons

Snake:

• The poor thing has never really had a relationship so for him to finally be in one is such a new and kinda scary expirence for him. He'd probably think he's the luckiest man alive to be with such an amzing and beautiful person.

• You'll need to have patience with him, he's still learning the ropes. He's gonna be attached to your hip, wanting to spend every waking second with you and not wanting to be away from you. He'd probaby want to do EVERYTHING for you so you're gonna need to have a sit down with him and tell him that he doesn't need to be doing everything for you and constantly by you and that he's allowed to do his own thing (and vice versa) and to just calm down.

• Poor thing has bad relationship anxiety. He's worried about not being good enough. He worries that if he makes one mistake, it's over. So you'll have to give him lots of reassurance that you love him and you're not gonna leave him cause of some dumb mistake.

• My boy is a VERY affectionate baby. He loves having someone to hold and cuddle with. He would like for you to also be a very affectionate person as well. If you're not, please let him know, he doesn't want to make you uncomfortable or anything. He just wants love and to have someone to love on is such a foreign concept to him, he loves and yearns for it. And the cuddling is a plus for him cause of his cold-blooded nature, poor baby is cold all the time.

• I can see him as the domestic, house husband type. Due to his criminal background, he would struggle to get a job so he makes up for it by taking care of the house. Everyday whe you come home from work, the house will be clean and there will be warm food on the table for the both of you. He'd be trying all sorts of new recipes and would want to know your honest opinion on it. I also feel while he is the one who cleans, he'd also be the type to mess the house up, probably from constantly partying and gaming.

• Speaking of gaming, he wants you to be his gaming buddy. Both of your gaming set ups would be right by each other. He'd probably beg you to play games with him. His favorite type of games would be first person shooters, he lives for them but can rage hard when losing. If you're both playing together and you get a kill, he'll praise you to the high heavens. Any kills or wins from you he's celebrating and getting rowdy over. He just loves you so much he loves seeing you do so well.

• The best to talk to when it comes to mental health issues. He struggles with it and will talk to you about it. And if you ever need to vent to him, he'll drop everything and come to your need, even if it's just to have a shoulder to cry on. He understands what it's like to struggle and would never want you to face that battle alone.

• Would get promise rings with you. He loves them and would show them off, just like how he's shown you off over thousands of times. He just has so much love to give you, you're his everything and he would kill for you. <3

Ace:

• If you think Snake is clingy, Ace is WAAAY worse, especially after the Sedusa incident. His realtionship anxieties are so much worse cause he's so scared of being used and abandoned again. Please hold him and tell him everything is going to be okay.

• You'll be with him for every Gangreen Gang meeting. He'll being doing all sorts of things to impress you and showing off how great of a leader he is. If you need something, he'll order the gang to get it for you. He'll be braging/ showing you off to everyone who's around (including the Gorillaz, he still keeps in contact with them)

• Will take you on night rides. It ranges from jamming out to varying songs to venting about life's bs. You'll both be driving around at 2 something in the morning just having the time of your lives. He'll suggest trying to get lost or even leaving the state right then and there, tell him no to the latter option. He'd probably drive you both to the other side of the country. Halp.

• While he is loaded with cash, he tries to not buy such nice, fancy stuff. Man is frugle with his money but he would try to buy you some nice things, especially for anniversaries or birthdays. Imagine him, hair slicked back and wearing a hot pink suite, spoiling you for (insert occasion here). Man would spoil the fuck out of you.

• Would want to have lazy days with you were you guys just lay in bed, watching movies, eating snacks, and doing absolutely nothing. If you try getting out of bed, expect him to cling to you and whine about you leaving. He'd be making it out like you were gonna leave for the milk and never come back.

• I just can't stress enough how clingy the poor baby is. He doesn't like when you have to go do stuff and gets so sad to see you go. Poor thing ends up having seperation anxiety with you. He'd be giving puppy dog eyes, doing everything he can to get you to stay and spend time with him. Please reassure him that you'll be back and you'll give him lots of lovins with him when you get back.

• Will take you to go exploring creepy abandond places. He'd want to do it at night but would be so scared. Poor baby. He'd so try to act like a tough guy to try to impress you again, but it's so obvious he's faking it.

thoughts on bungou stray dogs season 5

woo, that was a fun binge-watch! ok, my (not spoiler free) thoughts:

this was a good season, really really good. i'm really impressed by asagiri's ability to keep us guessing and to play off old story patterns while also developing new ones—characterization's very consistent but also keeps developing in fresh and interesting directions. pacing's less wack than s3 (where fyodor appeared in like 3 episodes), the plot develops at a solid pace, the themes are really interesting

this was the gayest season i have seen so far and i've been letting this stupid show queerbait me for 6 years now, so that's saying something. fukichi and fukuzawa simultaneously have the energy of messily divorced exes, pining repressed best friends, and happily married couple all at once. if i was mori i'd be jealous (but it's mori so he's not, though i do appreciate mori/fukuzawa as a foil to fukichi/fukuzawa).

i'm not really the biggest fan of raising the stakes continuously overall, like i really don't think media needs to go like season 1. save my friend season 2. save my home season 3. save the world or some shit, it's fine to have similar magnitude of stakes throughout. but it's cool that asagiri's got the ambition to tackle some lofty questions—in particular i think nikolai's own struggle to determine his free will compared to fukichi's desire to strip free will from humanity in exchange for world peace is interesting.

i have never been particularly taken by fyodor, or fyodor's relationship with dazai, or fyodor's relationship with nikolai. but this season has finally caused me to cave and admit he's great. he's hilarious, he's a great foil to dazai (their weird 4D chess frenemyship is excellent, i understand why people ship them now), his dialogue is top tier and i fucking lost it when he faked having a split personality to the character with split hair because he (rightly) figured sigma would fall for it. like yes DRAG HIM

speaking of split haired characters, i miss Q, who had a lot of potential to add some more chaos to the mix and who i generally want to see more of (his fucked up gender energy and his being a lovehatechild of dazai and chuuya is so entertaining)

i'm...actually a bit disappointed that dazai did not actually let chuuya die, although i do like the direction asagiri took—in "double black," we saw chuuya place his trust in dazai, and it paid off. this time around, dazai placed his trust in chuuya—literally let him put a loaded gun to his head!!—and it paid off (and also chuuya got his revenge for dazai taking too long to nullify corruption last time, you know he had fun with those extra bullets).

i really enjoy that asagiri shows time and time again just how much these two trust each other, but at the same time, i think their relationship could actually be stress tested more—like, i genuinely wanted to see dazai placed into a real "pick chuuya or the ADA" situation! i want to see dazai and chuuya actually on opposite sides, not in truces or working together or whatnot, and i suspect that this will happen in the show's last arc—it's eventually going to circle back to ADA vs. PM, just like the beginning. TL:DR; i'm an insane dazai/chuuya shipper and the chokehold they have on me is so humiliating that i just don't talk about it 99% of the time. if i loved you less i would be able to talk about it more.

although i did 100% call him being OK with killing chuuya as BS, because there is no goddamn way dazai's last words to chuuya would ever be as mild and cliche as "we didn't really get along, but sometimes we understood each other." that man has been practicing dramatic monologues in his head daily for the last seven years. when he does deliver that monologue it's going to fucking SERVE

speaking of being taken in by fyodor: fine fine I GET THE DAZAI/CHUUYA X FYODOR/NIKOLAI PARALLELS NOW OKAY. not that i denied them before but we were really getting bashed over the head with it in the prison break episodes. being queerbaited by this show is better than a lot of actual media gay couples but it still hurts like a bitch.

i continue to want to wring atsushi's neck lol. akutagawa has never really been my fave or anything, but his character development is clearly progressing much faster (and i really really respect it) and our narrator still can't fucking form an opinion without one of his friends to guide him!! kyouka and lucy please ditch him and date each other instead. the lack of kyouka in this season was CRIMINAL.

i kind of ship kenji and tetchou now...i know the show is pushing tetchou and jouno but jouno is just so fucking MEAN and tetchou deserves someone who doesn't judge him for his quirks okay :(

tachihara biggest glow up of any character since the beginning of this show. the character development i didnt know i wanted

this season did a lot more work to humanize the hunting dogs (esp. the non-tachihara ones) and i enjoyed that a lot. teruko's role in the finale, killing the man she loved most because fukuzawa couldn't, absolutely murdered me. i think it's such a good step in her character arc as she has to figure out who she wants to be without him. also i appreciate that she's a badass female character who isn't a weirdly sexualized girlboss and is also a weirdo

aya and bram is truly one of the most bizarre pairs in this show and there are a lot of bizarre pairs, so that's saying something. i legitimately feel like asagiri picked some names out of a hat or spun a wheel for this or something. but i am excited for bram to figure out what he wants after spending forever being enslaved to others, and hope that this involves listening to the radio all day with a 10-year-old girl. the way children are portrayed in BSD as these incredibly vulnerable and impressionable people worthy of love and protection sincerely fucks me up so bad

loose ends: where is the help me note from? i assumed dazai wrote it, but i doubt it, and i also doubt he just left sigma to die. we still don't know what fyodor's ability is, which makes me nervous, since he is ALLEGEDLY dead. i wonder if it's nikolai's (frankly he does legitimately seem like the type to have split personality issues). i'm worried the antidote isn't an actual antidote, and we obviously haven't seen the end of nikolai. there's an actually comical amount of power in bram's hands now. mori's been fairly quiet this season, and there's no way he didn't plan a way for himself to benefit from the carnage. that man is a vulture, he exploits starving orphans off the street! and he sent in chuuya to save the ADA's ass twice and let akutagawa disappear for 2+ weeks! this man was just negotiating to have yosano join the mafia, you can't tell me he didn't get something for himself out of this.

He's actually really funny in the haunted house though. Says some absolutely hilarious things.

He might insult the scare actors though but that's bc he has an ego and it's been bruised.

Acts like he wasn't scared but totally was smh. We try to get him to go into another haunted house with us and he acts all tough??? Big shadow, tiny tree.

Soldier

Soldier is very "oorah" about the whole thing. He goes in and scares the scare actors by how unpredictable and violent he can be. And he never actually means to harm them but the neck snaps require a lot of un-neck snaps.

I actually think he would be really fun but touching the scare actors is a big no.

Calls the scary things communists and screams like a bald eagle.

Does say he'll keep us safe though so that's nice.

Pyro

Pyro thinks the whole haunted house is actually adorable and super fun. They giggle a lot throughout the whole experience.

If you're scared or uncertain, they'll pull you into their chest and whisper sweet things to you to make you feel safe and secure.

Compliments the scare actors pretty genuinely!! Though, they compliments make no sense to them because it's "you're very cute!" and it's ???

They promise to protect you from the scary things and they absolutely do.

Demoman

Let's pretend he's sober for this. Demo is LOADS of fun to go through a haunted house with.

Healthy mix of scared and laughing. Like, he screams and then dissolves into giggles.

Might take a nap mid haunted house with one of the scare actors. He's sleepy, y'know?

Will go into quite a few haunted houses with you, but he's drawn to the nautical ones like Queen Mary Haunted Harbor.

Heavy

He doesn't actually show any emotion towards the haunted house?? Like, he goes because we ask him to. He wants us to be happy.

When he does go through, he gets a bit protective of us. Standard big brother energy.

Compliments the scare actors on their makeup and the costumes. Ends up holding legit conversations with them.

Makes us feel safe even though he's looking at the decorations over anything else.

Engineer

So much fun to go through a haunted house with!

He gasps or covers his chest like a mildly surprised Victorian woman when he gets scared, but quickly laughs it off.

Will also compliment the scare actors. Makes us feel super safe too. Will take the front of the line as well.

Only wants to do like one haunted house because he thinks the animatronics inside are gods awful.

Medic

Almost traumatizing experience with him.

Like, it starts out as super fun but he gets way too into it and ends up creeping everyone else out.

Like I'm serious, the scare actors actively fear this man more than he does them.

He will go into multiple haunts with you though so that's really nice.

Sniper

He only gets somewhat startled, probably swears at the scare actors and then says "no that was good," with a smile.

I refuse to believe that Mundy is anything but a good sport.

He holds onto us as tightly as we hold onto him. Keep each other safe.

He can go into a few haunted houses before getting worn out. He needs to reenergize and then he's good to go.

Spy

You have to beg this man to go with you an then he makes you admit some embarrassing secret.

He insults the scare actors and probably hurts their feelings.

Thinks the entire thing is kind of stupid tbh. Kinda not fun to be with but if we show any fear, he's there to make sure we're okay.

She's like a normal person going through a haunted house tbh. She's seen a lot of scary stuff throughout her time working under the Administrator, knows it's not real but still gets spooked anyways.

She says some really funny things. "Jesus!" And then tells the scare actors to not do that again so ofc they target her.

You gotta hold hands with her while you're going through the haunted house.

She wants to go into a few haunted houses so that's really fun. Has a phobia of clowns so good luck if the both of you are scared of them.

Saxton Hale

He wants us to pay for him to go with us but we tell him to shut up and enjoy the night.

Like Spy, makes fun of the scare actors but actually makes them laugh too. it's much more in good fun than pure maliciousness.

We have to talk him out of fighting some of the more serious scare actors. Literally, he will fight them.

We end up not being able to stop him so-. I mean, can we even try to stop him?? No. We almost get arrested, no more haunted houses for the season + restraining orders, but it was fun while it lasted.

The Administrator

We drag her to go. She kind of does??? Hates it.

Is unfiltered mean to the scare actors.

She loves haunted houses after getting the gist and brings us to literally ever single one.

She gets a little spooked at the really loud jump scares, might reflexively punch a scare actor but she's genuinely fun to be around. Compliments the scare actors that spook her.

Is very protective of her friends/loved ones. So, we're pretty safe with her.

Speaks in a lot of Russian so we have no idea wtf she's saying. Likes the haunted houses focused on folklore more than anything else. Literally so much fun to hang out with her.

-Riddle paid so much attention to fine details that if something was up, he'd definitely notice it

-But unfortunately you were best friends with the two goobers of Heartslabyul: Ace and Deuce

-And Riddle had started to pay attention to you and your habits, and something was off with you

-It's almost as though you tried too hard to be normal, like Jamil

-And he could never let something like that happen again, so yes he was watching you

-One day you accidently slipped up and was irresponsible with your powers

-Grim was bothering you since he got into a deal with Azul for tuna and they were standing outside with the twins, since Grim lost

-You told him to fend for himself and teleported, however you didn’t plan where you would go

-And you teleported into the Heartslabyul dorm

-What sucks is that your teleportation power was literally flashy with a bright ass green light every time you popped in somewhere

-Just when you thought you were lucky since the whole dorm was uninhabited...except for Riddle who watched the whole thing

-He was completely shocked, he didn’t know what to say other than “What did you just do?!” 

-You explained to him, and that just pieced everything together

-How you solved overblots with such ease, and that one day you had a “strength potion to test for Azul” was such bs!

-Riddle ends up keeping your secret, since he values your privacy but if you do something major and mess up then he will tell!

-”I understand but please be more careful with your powers. I need to institute discipline and you are no exception, Y/N.”

-He really does care about you and doesn’t want you to be found out 

-Goes the extra mile to cover for you often, and in exchange you help him out with things :)

Leona:

-He didn't really care about you at first but as you started to hang Jack and Ruggie, Leona started to get more suspicious

-Your scent had proven that you had some trace of magic, but Leona just couldn't put his finger on it

-So he sent Ruggie after you for a couple of days

-If you were a threat to Savanaclaw, Leona would crush you

-But Ruggie had only reported back that everything with you was perfectly normal

-"Just give it up Leona, they're just an ordinary human. The scent is probably weird because they're from a completely different world."

-But Leona still had that feeling, so he was keeping an eye on you

-You had made a deal with Crowley to keep your powers secret to solve problems on campus (it did cut repair costs and handymen costs in half so-)

-Your new quest was to rid the forest of the Angolo fungus that was manifesting into living fungus blobs 

-The one thing that gave you away was Grim, as you both had to stop by the Greenhouse to read some info about the fungus

-The cat beast was being far too loud, not understanding why he had to go and mess around with the icky fungus

-You simply replied “It’ll be quick, I’ll just use Hydrokinesis and dry out the fungus since they’re mainly filled with water. They become fertilizer once dried so we can just leave them there.”

-And there Leona was, ears perked up once he heard your voice

-Hydrokinesis? What are you talking about?

-So he set off, following you to the forest

-You started to fly, turning the once green and lively fungus to brown dust while Grim napped against a tree

-Leona for the first time in the while, was left speechless

-Once you noticed him, you realized you had to talk to him

-Confronting him later on, luckily Leona didn’t spill to anyone 

-He promised to never tell anyone about what he saw, and had no clapbacks for what you had to say 

- Leona doesn’t even benefit from this secret...besides mayyybee one day asking for your help if his pride lets him

-By the Great Seven why does everything have to not be in his favor-

Azul:

-Another one who you have got to be careful around, since he’s incredibly observant

-More observant than Riddle

-Azul noticed that you’re an incredibly average person, and were incredibly relaxed even during the most stressful situations

-And almost every single time whenever you were in a tight spot, it works in your favor

-Just how is that possible? Solving overblots left and right? Every single time you disappeared the infestation of magical beasts are gone? 

-One day, you were getting picked on by a three guys, their stature far above yours and incredibly strong. How could you possibly win?

-Just as he was about to scoop in a save you, you slammed one of the men into the concrete, taking on the other two by electrocuting them, the blue lightning buzzing in your palms

-They were completely knocked out, dusting off your palms and picking up your things only to face Azul’s eyes

-After giving an explanation of what that was, he was still speechless

-Azul at first was incredibly shocked and then since Azul is Azul... later on realized this had benefits

-He could just blackmail you to be his new bodyguard!

-Oh how he always manages to bend life to his will-!

-So you could just wipe his memory... or turn him into stone...nvm

-You’re now Azul’s arch nemesis since you end up saving people from his scamming and you’re basically untouchable and there’s nothing he can do about it

-But he does find your great strength admirable (and a lil hot, I mean what can u say seeing someone floating in the air with electricity flowing through them is a nice look okay Nate shut up)

Kalim: 

-Oh Kalim my beloved

-He just thinks that you’re incredibly talented and a little mysterious

-You have your little quirks and he has his! Who is he to judge?

-Until one day you wanted to make the load lighter on Jamil, since the berries that Kalim had requested for were only in season in one country

-You decided to just teleport and then come back with the berries so Kalim wouldn’t be pouty 

-You were outside the door ready to teleport when last minute you felt a hand on your shoulder

- “Oh Y/N you forgot-!”

-And there both you and Kalim were, in a berry field thousands of miles away from the Scarabia dorm

-Kalim screams, falling to the lush green of the field

-What happened?! Where are we?! How did you do that?!

-You quickly gathered all the berries at light speed, making sure that you got back before Jamil realized that you were gone

-Kalim wasn’t scared of you, rather impressed that you were able to keep a secret for that long, he could never!

-You’re already super cool, and on top of this you have otherwordly powers!

- “It must’ve been stressful living your life like this! But don’t worry, I’ll keep your secret!”

-Yes he sometimes asks you to perform some of your powers for him, sorry Y/N-

Vil:

-While you were his friend, he was incredibly suspicious of you

-Even though you wiped everyone’s memory, he still had the faint memory of when he was in overblot mode of you blasting him with a beam of light

-Vil was incredibly upset as one of his assistants had mixed up his items, and left one of his vital skincare items on the set of where they were filming a new commercial

-It was being shipped and would take 3 days to reach NRC

-His mood was horrible and you had to do something about it to give grace to the Pomefiore dorm

-So you went to the second story of the Pomefiore dorm, ready to use Apport (the power to pull anything before you) 

-However, Vil felt incredibly guilty

-He was acting like a child and he shouldn’t have taken it out on the people who he loves and values

- “Y/N, how I was acting was incredibly inappropriate and- is that my moisturizer? How did you get it?”

-Starts freaking out as this was impossible as it was on it’s way from being shipped from another country

-This was the last straw for him ther was no justification for this that wasn't done by some form of magic

-He takes you to his room to make you sit down and give him an explanation for this

-Once you finished, Vil understood but was still freaked out

-He cares alot about keeping your powers a secret and will cover for you

-"So my aport powers need to exchange something of equal value so... I exchanged it with that Scucci purse over there-

-"MY LIMITED EDITION SCUCCI PURSE?!"

-He loves you, but you're dead to him, Y/N dear

Idia:

-Before he knew you, he didn't really notice anything off with you

-A little quiet sure but he minded his own business, he had bigger things to focus on

-Until you hung around Ignihyde more often for a project, fixing a huge generator by yourself for one of your partners for a project

-They took a break only after you told them that they could and apprehensive went to go get food and water

-Anyone with eyes could see that there's an overbearing amount of energy flowing through the fairly large sized cube

-Wait, you were wearing no gloves, you could get electrocuted! Why would have your bare hands on something like that?!

-Just as he was able to yell, it was too late, your whole body was flowing with the bright blue energy... and then you let go

-You were walking completely fine, you went and held a random wire on the ground, placing the electricity inside

-The static from your hair was gone, and you looked completely normal. . .

-Just what the hell are you?

-He did hours of research trying to figure you out, even sending Ortho to monitor you

-Yet there was nothing, you were just a “regular teen” 

-Was ready to get S.T.Y.X.S on your ass- (is that too soon to joke abt my bad overblot boys-)

-Until one day he caught you again bending electricity to your will

-Is incredibly impressed with your power (lowkey wanting to experiment on you)

-After he realizes that you can read minds Idia is so damn frightened

- “O-Okay I promise not to say anything, just don’t tell anyone what I’m thinking a-alright?!”

Malleus:

-You were one of the only people who he trusted

-Malleus had always detected some form of magical aura that was otherworldly from you and it never seemed to fade

-And it wasn’t often, but it was almost like you knew what he was thinking

-Whenever he was deeply upset he felt a twinge of energy from you, and then you would insist and help him out with his problems

-And he flat out says “Are you reading my mind, Y/N?”

-You had never been directly outed like this before, you felt horrible 

-You never read people’s minds unless it was very necessary

-whenever Malleus felt deeply gloomy you felt like it was important to just read his mind and help him with the problem

-You explained it to him and apologized, but he wasn’t upset

-In fact, he was smiling?

- “It seems like we have alot of things that we’re hiding from each other. But... you always had the best intentions whenever you used your abilities”

-He let out a sigh and reluctantly admitted, “And, I know that I’m quite stubborn with revealing my feelings.” 

- “I will keep your secret as long as you keep mine, Child of Man,” the dragon fae said, you both shaking on it

- “I always had a feeling that you were special, but I never thought it would be something of this caliber...”
