i finally did my dishes after a week, and i was like,, ok,,, i'm gonna fold the laundry now too (it's been four days since i washed it). but to do that, i have to make my bed (it's the only big enough flat surface i have in my dorm). and now i'm halfway through making my bed, and all of a sudden, it's like,, oh my god... why am i doing this there's so much more i have to do i've wasted the whole night and i still have to sort out all my blankets and stuff and then fold the laundry and then heat up dinner and it's all sooooo sadgojhaoigh ughhhh like at this point it's basically tomorrow and i can't deal with tomorrow because then it's basically next week and i have work due then and like i can't even think about doing that, but i have to ,because i have to do it tomorrow, because everything takes so long and it's already basically tomorrow

not that i am against the concept of international trade nor do i think tariffs are based or whatever but what is interesting is seeing how much of the american reaction comes down to “but *i* dont want to work in a factory for pennies and *i* dont want my currency to be worthless and to have to pay one billion dollars for iphone” without even acknowledging your comfort depends on a global population who is forced to live under those exact conditions. right. like it or not, for the world to exist as it does, someone’s got to do it. someone’s got to mine the precious metals, someone’s got to forge the machine parts. someone’s got to ruin their body for slave wages, somewhere. the fact that you and i don’t is a result of winning a total genetic lottery and it is the exception not the norm and do what you want with that information but at least dont be callous

and I can't even imagine it. I cannot comprehend what it was like for 99.99% of history. How did they survive burying half of their children? I fully expect my own children to outlive me; it will be considered a rare, unexpected tragedy if they don't. How was this much misery normal for that much of history?

When a cis man gets offended and says, "Not all men," it is generally in the context that he feels he is personally being attacked as an individual, and said to try and halt a conversation on sociopolitical issues that he is not generally a victim of (benefits from, even).

When transmascs get offended and say, "Not all men," it is generally in the context of them feeling erased from a sociopolitical perspective on the basis of their nuanced identity (not a cis man but not a woman-- or, in the case of some genderfluid / multigender individuals, not just a woman), and said to try and broaden a conversation on sociopolitical issues (because they are far deeper than just, "masculinity as a whole is evil, and men are trash") that they are being othered from, despite facing said sociopolitical issues as a victim of them.

Whether you acknowledge this or not, you having the same exact negative reaction to both instances is a reflection of a cisgender-centric worldview.
