For the prompt though, i imagine they came about reader when remus found her on a full moon as a toddler werewolf, abandond in the forest (last yr hogwarts or graduated doesnt matter, whatever you decide) and when Sirius finally finds Remus the next morning he's shocked, confused, and then melts. Big, tall, broard Remus has this small bundle of cuteness wrapped in his sweater trying to cuddle into him.

Whether youd like to continue on from there or do reader growing up or a time skip is up to you. Same as if James dies or not, whatever your brilliant mind decides 🧡 but if it helps this is how i see the family dynamic:

So skip to hogwarts in some of the last years (im a ravenclaw so i always imagine reader as a ravenclaw but anyhouse would be fun to explore) and reader makes it official with Theo or Enzo. Harry's a tattle tale and tells his dad who then brags to Reggie, who the apparats him self the Sirius' to demand answers because "who was this vile thing that dared touch his star?? Boyfriend?!?! Fucking over his dead body!!" Fully expecting Sirius to agree with him. But he doesnt, he just sighs because at least they made it til 6th/7th yr before boys started, he'll give the poor boy a chance first. And then Remus bursts in and has a full meltdown. Thats his little wolf; his baby. She can have a boyfriend. A BOYFRIEND!?! He might puke. No this isnt allowed. Boys are gross. And nasty. And theyre going to hurt her. But not before he hurts them!! He's going to put the fear of godric into this boy! RIGHT NOW!! Wheres his wand? He needs to go to Hogwarts.

Its so unexpected that both Black brothers are frozen. Until Remus starts searching for his wand and Sirius has to calm him down while Regulus goads him on. And through all of it, reader and Enzo/Theo were standing at the door to 'meet the parents'.

And then however you want it to go from there love! So sorry that was soo long and rambely. Of couese no pressure to write it and take whatever creative liberties youd like!!

The group had made an agreement that the girls would all get a flat together, as would the boys. So naturally Sirius, James and Remus planned and found one for themselves that was 'absolutely perfect' as Sirius put it since it back right up to a large patch of woods; 'Perfect for you, Moony'.

In the moment Remus had rolled his eyes, but truly he was thankful. By the last full moon of school, Remus had managed to transform back to himself without completely passing out. After the fourth full moon in the flat, Remus was able to still decently function after his transformations.

What neither Sirius nor James expected happened and they didn't know how to react initially. Sirius and James had lost sight of Remus toward the end of the night, now both transformed back to themselves looking for him.

When Sirius found him, he didn't expect the scene he walked upon. Remus shoulders were hunched over, and at first Sirius thought he was crying. But the closer he got, he realized it was not Remus making those noises, but...a child?

"Moony...what the bloody hell is that," Sirius voice was cautious, he was still convinced he might be hallucinating.

Remus turned around slowly, "She's like me, Pads. She...she was a tiny little wolf, I swear it." Sirius was skeptical, but the way Remus was looking down at you, every doubt was melting away. The way your tiny hands gripped on to Remus's sweater.

When Sirius got close enough, you reached out for him, and he was done for. When James caught up with the pair he had the same initial reaction. But like Sirius, one look at you and he was also convinced.

It had taken the girls no time to swoon after you, and the boys were forever grateful. While Remus declared himself your father (Sirius demanding his was Dad number 2). James became your fun uncle (funcle as he called himself, Lily rolling her eyes each time).

To say it had taken a village was not just a cliché, but reality. Sirius was every over protective father, having a flair for the dramatics any time anything happened, good or bad. Remus was more calm, essentially the voice of reason when Sirius was talking circles. You eventually became the perfect mix of the two, which they both loved.

When you got your Hogwarts letter Sirius threw a party, Remus thinking it was a little over the top but Sirius insisted, "Our little star got her letter, we're celebrating Moony." Regulus had brought you off to the side, insisting you owl him if anyone is mean to you, he'll come and fix it, "Even if it's another little twat kid, you let me know, okay Star?"

After fourth year, James let you try his beer for the first time. Sirius lost his mind, Remus reminded Sirius how much worse he was at your age and that if James was letting her try it that it was a better situation than he used to get in to.

What you didn't expect was the commotion that ensued during Christmas holiday seventh year. It was tradition for you and your dads to throw a party on Christmas Eve. You were putting the final touches on the Christmas biscuits you usually made when a loud pop sounded in the living room.

"SIRIUS GET YOUR ARSE IN HERE NOW!" The voice of Regulus rang throughout your house and you instantly froze. Sirius sauntered in, not bothered by his younger brothers tone, "Seriously, with the shouting Reg, what is it now?"

Regulus looked over Sirius shoulder at you in the kitchen before turning back to his brother, "How could you let her, huh? How could you let her do this, with a Slytherin no less? My little star? Who is this vile snake you've let touch our little girl, a boyfriend, Sirius, really?"

You held your breath, fully expecting your dad to lose it, go full on dramatics, but instead he just pinched the bridge of his nose, "Honestly, Reg, calm down. I'm surprised it took us till seventh year for her to finally decide to get a boyfriend, don't get me wrong, I'm thankful," he turned pointing at you, "but I trust her, Reg. And you should too. She's not like us. Really though, darling, a Slytherin?"

Sirius turned to face you and all you could muster was a shrug of your shoulders before your father burst in. "WHAT did I just hear? My wolf has a WHAT? With a WHO? Darling are you mad, who is this boy? A boyfriend? Oh my Godric, I think I'm going to be sick. Who is he, star? Who, tell me now. I'm getting my wand. Sirius, my wand now."

Remus held out his hand expectantly, but nothing happened. Both Regulus and Sirius stood frozen, mouths agape at Remus's reaction before a sly smirk crawled its way onto Sirius's features, "Oh my my, Moony, this is a sight."

At that moment the Potter's all appeared, the air obviously thick with tension. James looked between his friends, "Oi, what did we miss?"

When you saw Harry you were instantly enraged, your inherant traits from Sirius coming in to play, "You little fucking rat, you weasel, you knew I was going to tell them over break, how could you tell Reggie before I could tell my parents, I'll hex you Potter, I swear it!"

You started after Harry, only for James's strong arms to lift you up by the waist and hold you tight, "Woah there, mini Sirius, calm down. I think this might be my fault. Harry told me out of concern and I might have boasted about your feats to Reggie."

You went slump in your Uncle's grasp, "Uncle Jamie...how could you." You were pouting as he sat you down, giving you a tight hug, "I'm sorry, star, I was just so dang proud of you."

You looked over at your parents, Sirius now rubbing Remus's back who was pinching the bridge of his nose. There was a knock on the door, causing everyone's attention to switch towards the distrubance.

Walking towards the door, you looked back with your hand on the handle, "Be nice." The marauders and Harry held up their hands in defense, Regulus crossed his, "No promises."

When you opened the door, Enzo stood there, cheeks slightly pink. "Erm, are you sure it's okay for me to be here?" You laughed slightly out of embarrassment, "How much did you hear exactly?"

"Enough to know I'm more afraid of Professor Lupin than Sirius," he whispered as he followed you through the door.

"Dad, Father, this is Enzo. My boyfriend," You gestured toward Enzo who gave a shy wave.

Remus placed his hand on his own chest, "Oh thank god it's Berkshire. I was really worried, star dear. Really worried. Thought maybe it was going to be the Nott boy."

This caused both you and Enzo to laugh, Enzo speaking up finally, "Merlin, no, sir. Nott's afraid of Y/n actually. So you've done a good job."

"Don't start kissing ass just yet, Berkshire," Regulus stuck a finger out at the boy.

"Uncle Reggie. Behave," you scolded him like a child, he looked down at the floor like one, too.

Sirius stepped forward, extending his hand, "So sorry, my boy. I'm Sirius, Y/n's father. You've met Moony, erm, Professor Lupin, her dad. He's sorry for anything you may have heard through the door."

Enzo grabbed his hand, shaking it firmly, "It's alright, sir. It's a pleasure to meet the men who've raised such a strong woman." Enzo smiled at you affectionately, causing you to blush in front of your family.

"Look at that, Moons. Our little star is growing up," Sirius wiped a faked fear, while Remus was holding back real ones.

You sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose like your dad had done earlier, "Alright, who's hungry, hmm? Shall we eat?" You led Enzo towards the large table. Everyone followed suit, both Regulus and Remus grumbling slightly.

As you sat down, Enzo gave your thigh a squeeze. He leaned over and whispered in your ear, "Star, huh? That's cute." You side-eyed him, giving him a slight glare, "You tell anyone, you're a dead man."

Enzo grinned to himself, "It'd be an honor to die by your hands, love."

Across the table, Sirius gave Remus's thigh a squeeze, "She's growing up, Moons. Our little star." Remus nodded, pouring himself some brandy, "That she is, Pads. Our little wolf is a woman now." Sirius scoffed, "She still needs us though right?" Remus nodded, smiling, "We'll always be there for her."

Polish Marauders - Where would they be from?

A breakdown of each Marauders Era Character possible place of residence/origin, had they all been Polish, that nobody asked for.

(partially inspired by @lilacella world wide moodboards, that reminded me that 2 years ago my mutuals played this little game “what if the marauders where from X country”. I think I have finally matured enough to actually make such a post)

Starting with the easiest one:

Sirius

Sloth’s Polrius™ is from Warsaw and obviously I agree with this assessment. He needs to be from The Big Important City.

However I do like the idea that he moves (at least temporarily) to Poznań, which has been dubbed Poland’s “queer capital” by some people.

He moves out the moment he gets the chance - to get away from his family, to meet new people, and to finally get to know himself (this is a pun. the name of the city might be coming from the verb “poznać” which means “to get to know” - someone or something knew, oneself, etc - or "to recognize")

Things Poznań is known for include: St. Martin's croissants, City Hall and its Goats (all pictured below), Pyrkon (fan convention; its name draws from the poznanian word for potato: pyra), funny dialect (see: pyra)

James

(this one is based on my assumption that James’s parents lived in Godrics Hollow as well, before James and Lily got married)

Godrics Hollow could be Gryfice or Gryfino (both small towns) near Szczecin. They take their names from the Griffin dynasty also known as House of Griffin that was founded in the 12th century. Both towns, most counties and the whole province have red griffins in their coats of arms.

You know. Like Godric Gryffindor?

Anyways.

Gryfino is right next to the Enchanted Crooked Forest and I mean. Just look at that. It does look like a Harry Potter location.

(I like the name of Gryfice better but Gryfino is located closer to the Crooked Forest, so Im sticking with that one)

Now things are getting a bit less straightforward.

Lily and Severus

For them I have 2 suggestions.:

Łódź - used to be the industrial centre with many textile factories. Since the name of Spinner’s End hints at the involvement in textile production - either cotton or wool spinning - this impression of Cokeworth being involved with textile industry stuck with me (tho I dont think we are ever told what was Cokeworth actually producing). However, Łódź is the 4th biggest city, not a small town like Cokeworth, and isnt as much of the textile industry anymore.

(Upper) Silesia - the other highly industrialised region, focused on mining (mostly coal), metalurgy etc. It has its own regional language called Silesian (I am not a linguist so idk whats the status of Silesian - some say its a dialect, some say its a separate regional language and are currently trying to get it recognised as such. idk its complicated (like everything about Silesia tbh). you can read some articles on wikipedia in silesian tho.). It fits the Cokeworth vibe a bit better, but it could also be compared to Wales (region focused on mining ✅ has a distinct dialect/language ✅ complicated history/relationship regarding the country/state its a part of ✅)

(with this one I ran out of creative juices and couldnt find any nice photos on unsplash or wikipedia so I used the posters by Ryszard Kaja. side note: Katowice is the capital city of the Silesian Province but its not the only province that can be referred to when talking about Silesia. like I said its complicated)

Remus

While trying to decide where he could be from, my first thought was: he has to be from the south of Poland - in that case, Sirius and James can make fun of the way he speaks (it doesnt matter how strong or noticeable one’s dialect is, I feel like southerners will always be made fun of). If Remus is from a town/village in the south he can hate on Warsaw people bc thats the preferable pastime of people not from Warsaw apparently (this also applies to Lily and Severus ofc)

So.

If we assume that Wales = Silesia (only for the purposes of this tumblr post!), then he can be from Silesia (as I mentioned: mining ✅ distinct dialect/language ✅ kind of a separate-ish region ✅)

But. If we want to lean into the sheep aspect of Wales (rather than the coal mining aspect) I would suggest Podhale - one of the mountain regions in the south. It is big on sheep ✅ has a rather noticeable dialect ✅ and having lots of sheep means: lots of woollen sweaters ✅ (crucial for Remus characterisation in any and all AUs)

other points for your consideration:

there is a breed of shepherd dogs originating from this region (Tatra Shepherd Dog, in polish: Owczarek Podhalański) (its quite large but sadly white not black like Padfoot. i still think it counts for Wolfstar points)

there is a fanart of Remus (and Lily) inspired by folk attire from Podhale region

How do they all meet? In Poland people would rather go to local high schools (as in: within their province). But if we want to gather people from all over the country our best shot is a university - and the oldest one is the Jagiellonian University in Kraków (Cracow) founded in 1364.

I've been rotating Percy Bullard recently. His combination of neurotic and repression has to only mean good things for Dessa. More of a secret freak then Logan, I'd put money on it

okay so this is actually sooooo fraught because uh. the thing is. niether percy nor dessa had any more sex education than the fitzboys, and observation of janus and remus is the first time theyre sort of presented with the idea that Sex And Physical Contact With Spouse can be like. good.

so like until Sewing Tears, sex is deeply unpleasant for dessa, and percy yknow isnt a monster, so he doesnt really like it any better. a solid third of the time they just give up part way through, the situation is that dire. it doesnt even occur to them to try anything else because they dont know there is anything else to try

Janus (who taught himself most of his sex ed when he figured out he was queer, from those circles, so its more comprehensive than most) obviously doesnt know this or he would correct it immediately and the plan is for the fic to actually start off as Janus and Percy bonding an percy clumsily being like "i would never dream of asking you this if you were still my sister and not my brother but What Do I Do"

so a horrified janus gives them a crash course and THEN it turns out that one of the biggest reasons theyre struggling is because Percy's a bottom and Dessa a top. so it gets fixed pretty quick once they jump that hurdle and that is The Only Reason Nessa and Billy don't have more siblings because they jumped it well

What inspired the Perdessa dynamic was a single vivid picture in my mind of Percy sitting on a couch and Dessa tugging his head back to kiss him from above and the man just melts. He deserves for his hot wife to Domme him into incoherence

my collected thoughts on the magic system of harry potter and what I would change to make it better.

i think that the harry potter magic system sucks!!

i mean, im sure this isnt a hot take but like...how is it that students at hogwarts school of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY graduate knowing how to use maybe a handfull of spells in combat? and they're the same spells that all the aurors and all the older members of the order and all the death eaters and even voldemort use?

and im especially talking about how weak it makes people who are supposed to be really powerful and dangerous seem. including the titular character Harry Potter himself. Harry uses spells in a unique way, dont get me wrong, but to me its all just so boring.

and im not saying it doesnt have to work like other fantasy stories, but if the main mechanism behind magic in harry potter is that you are either born with it or not, you dont need a wand but its exponentially more challenging without one (unless you have a unique skillset or education), intention matters, and there are spells that can grant magical abilities to objects. there is so much more possibility than just expelliarmus and expecto patronum. There has to be, or else why tf would hogwarts take 7 years of schooling to graduate from?

so here are some of my headcanons:

families have bloodline abilities

so, in the case of wizarding britan, there are families that want to stay pure such as the sacred 28 (or is it 27 i cant remember), and pure as in their blood and bloodline must stay pure (going so far as to marry your cousins, e.g. Orion and Walburga Black). If this is the case, and they wan't to preserve their magical bloodline so bad, they'd have to have something more than just "magic" to preserve.

I feel like its almost there in canon but falls short of being fully realized. I think of it kinda like how it works in naruto. Theres those who have a bloodline ability and then those that dont. You dont have to have one to be powerful, if you have one it dosent mean you will be powerful automatically.

The black family seems to carry the gene for metamorphmagus, but i wouldnt consder this a bloodline ability and think of it more like a random mutation passed on to teddy, which could occur in any magical person, (theres also the possibility that this was a more common ability in the black family but because of the lack of genetic diversity and inbreeding it was lost until Andromeda had Remadora with Ted, who was not pureblood. I think abilities have to do with the energy of magic that is either created or inherited, not so much genetics. Therefore, families dont pass on the same exact ability but something that is novel or slightly different from person to person.

The Lupins, for example, could be Beast Speakers. Maybe, a long time ago in the Lupin familiy, they kept wolves or something (explaining the surname which would have had something to do with occupation) and they learned from them how to speak with animals?Lyall, who canonically worked in the Department for the Control and Regulation of Dark Creatures, can speak to dark creatures, even werewolves who are transformed. Remus can speak to domesticated animals like cats and dogs, fancy mice, toads, etc. Remus is like Hogwarts' unofficial vet tech, and if you like atyd Remus, this fits in nicely as he specialized in Care of Magical Creatures.

The Potters, canonically, are linked to the Peverell family. The invisibility cloak has been passed down through generations and is still being passed down to Harry's children. I think a common headcanon, and one that i truly love, is that they use Death Magic. But, thats assuming the potters are the exact same family as the Peverells, which they are not. I think, in going along with the Peverell brothers creating the deathly hallows (using advanced death magic), the potters have a Sorcerer's Craft ability. What was the Potter family's source of new money? Fleamont's invention, Sleekeazey's. I know its a "potion", but what if its just like...coconut oil imbued with magical enchantments that make your hair perfect. James could have played a major hand in the creation of the Marauder's Map, an Extremely powerful magical object made to do the impossible task of mapping Hogwarts. And he did this in school. at like 14-15. Harry doesn't do anything that has to do with magic item creation, that I can remember (i haven't read the books in years), however he also had no connection to his family and likely wouldn't be able to learn without another Potter teaching him. BUT! Harry Potter is the master of death, meaning he can use all 3 of the deathly hallows without being corrupted, maybe this could be a side effect of how his Sorcerer's Craft manifests itself.

side tangent, but the reason I think this is an ability even though others have been known to make magical objects, is because the potters are able to do it very creatively, and early on in their lives. They are involved in every aspect of item creation, and they can enchant things in a way no other wizard could replicate, meaning their objects could not be mass produced without their explicit involvement. Maybe Sleekeasy's stops working so well once Fleamont dies, hence why Hermione says its too much hassle to use every day.

The Blacks, you might think, would be something to do with offensive, powerful, and deadly magic. While, yes, this is something that some members of the black family are gifted in, it is not their bloodline ability. I think that the Blacks are Seers. It's no coincidence their families long standing tradition of astrological names are prophetical for their lives. Walburga Black, for example, has the power of Augery. She asks the universe questions and receives omens as answers. She saw a black dog when asking the universe to tell her about her newborn son, hence the name Sirius. For Regulus, well, she saw water. Not knowing what to make of it, she refused to let Regulus near it for his entire childhood. Regulus, as an empath, has the ability of psychometry. The ability to gain information from an object by touching it, including humans ( he cant read minds, but can tell what someone has experienced in their life). This comes in great handiness when he goes to destroy the locket. Sirius, I believe, would have a mastery over tarot cards or oracle cards. He can glean deadly accurate readings, and has a keen ability to interpret meanings unknown to even the most practiced tarot readers. He has a special deck, one that his uncle Alphard gave to him when he found out Sirius could read tarot from Walburga (who, at the time, was very pleased with her Heir's ability). This comes with an emotional expense to Sirius, though, and at times, gives him answers he doesnt want to hear. The girls loved it though, and asked him to teach them. He tried but couldn't explain how he did it, since it's innate to his bloodline. Of course, you could obviously imagine this adding to the piles of angst surrounding the war, as Sirius had to have seen signs that his loved ones would die, making him think he could outsmart fate by changing the secret keeper...

I think this is getting too long, but I'm already thinking about part 2 because I have alot of thoughts about this...especially things that anyone could learn not just inheritied abilities.

Why do you think so many marauder fans like Barty and Evan while they despise Snape?? I can’t wrap my head around it! Usually the reasons they claim to hate snape for are traits these characters have (being a death eater, bullying children) but atleast snape had a redemption arc of some sort while these guys died bigoted and cruel. It’s baffling.

Honestly unfortunately I think a lot of it is pretty privilege. Much of fandom revolves around shipping, specifically two pretty young men together. Bonus points if those young men are wealthy. Barty and Evan (and Regulus) are relatively blank slates compared to a more established character like Snape, so people can just apply whatever bland character tropes they like to them for the purposes of shipping. Rosier has no canon description and Barty's canon description is vague enough that they can be imagined as male models basically haha.

Barty comes ready-made with a sob story about his family and the text goes out of its way to portray him as sympathetic. Rosier, again, total blank slate so you can invent some tragic reason why he was compelled to join the death eaters. Curiously I also gave Rosier quite a fucked up family situation (in some ways the worst out of any DE tbh) but my version of Rosier has internalised the cycle of abuse that exists in his family and is now perpetuating it against others.

On the other hand, Sev is described as fairly unpleasant as a character, rarely sympathetic, and also very much not attractive. He's also explicitly the enemy of the Hot Sexy Unproblematic Maruaders, so obviously he has to be made into an irredeemable villain trope in order to justify the behaviour of sunshine boys James and Sirius. Again this goes back to what I said recently about people not believing in redemption so they have to erase everything about a character that requires redemption in the first place.

My thoughts on this aren't entirely formed but I also sometimes get the feeling there's kind of a fascination with like... the aesthetics of aristocracy (without much real understanding of how the British class system functions) and this is why the Blacks are so often portrayed as fabulously wealthy in a way that imo is not reflected in canon. Anyway I kind of get the feeling people just like the 'rich sexy boarding school boys' trope, dark academia except not actually that dark lol. Rosier and Crouch are portrayed as old money families.

So Snape, being poor, likely wearing clothes that are uncool and unsexy, being described as unattractive therefore not being reimaginable as a male model, sworn enemy of the fan favourites, just doesn't fit into this whole thing. Remus arguably doesn't fit completely either, but he does fit the idea of a sort of 'noble poor boy' (even though his family probably isnt rly that poor when he's a kid hgfhshgkjgh) better than Snape does. So that's why Remus is accepted as a poor little orphan (????????) when Snape is reviled; Remus fits more easily into a shippable character trope. Especially if in your head he looks like Matt Hitt.

A Complete Guide To Chaotic Academia

bc its my fav aesthetic and there is not enough content about it

Outfits

most people say that chaotic academia is just dark academia but a little bit more messy, and, well, chaotic. the truth is, chaotic academia is A LOT more messy than dark academia. you can still use dark academia as kind of a "base", but you are going to replace your blazers with flannels, your turtlenecks with tshirts. as for pants, you can go with litteraly anything: cigarette pants, tailored trousers, ripped-up jeans or normal black leggings. i personally really ike ripped up overalls bc they give that "i dont really give a damn, im so misunderstood, my parents didnt love me, im a crazy lonely introverted teenage child" vibe...idk. whatever you wear, make sure you feel comfortable in it! even tho in chaotic academia there are almost no rules at all, here are some things that might help you!

colours: any earthy tones are fine, brown, caramel, dark green, dark red, white, etc etc

Activities and Traits

ok now we're getting to the actually important part bc (repeat after me): chaotic academia is not about how you look, its about how you live and how you act. so here r some thing that might help:

- annotating books with the most unhinged random thoughts

- learning poetry or speeches word for word but not remembering most of the things for school

- studying in the (school) library and being besties with the librarian (optional)

- leaving notes (on trees, mailboxes or library books) for strangers to find

- "studying while listening to classical music" and then instead of studying you end up agressivly mouthing your favorite song

- im sure yall already heard this one, but yes, swearing and slag while discussing deep academic topics is incredibly important

- speaking of important topics: posting something important on social media knowing no one will read it

- doodles on your hands 24/7 (NO SUSAN, I DONT GIVE A DAMN THAT ITS BAD FOR MY SKIN)

- sarcasm. a lot.

- random thoughts

- random quotes

- knowing a ton of conspiracy theories that you dont even beileve in by heart

- listening to all different types of podcasts

- one day reading the classics, the next ya fantasy and day after that ao3 smut

- multifandom, multishipper

- tea/coffee addiction

- adding b.c. to todays date when writing it in school

- random thoughts and the weirdest annotations in your school notebooks, especially the classes that you find boring

Beautiful moon | remus lupin x f!reader

Notes : sixth year, some headcannons ( not noticeable ), angst

monthly post (old wip that I just finished)

"The full moon is beautiful isnt it? " You said, reading a book, and looking at the moon. It wasnt a full moon yet, but you knew it was right around the corner.

"No, it sucks,its ugly and has scar like spots" Remus spat, receiving the attention of James, who you two were with, sitting at their own dorm.

"What? It's beautiful, really, I mean, look at the moon, and the spots, honestly if the moon was just gray and smooth I don't think it'll be pretty without the so called 'imperfections' I think it's pretty because of it! "

Remus raises his head, and sat on his bed silently, if only you knew what he has to endure every month.

The Painfulness, the humiliation when he walked through the halls and met Severus after the full moon.

But either way you said it in such, beautiful poetic way, in a way that Remus has only felt, because of you.

Even though he has alot of support, he has never felt something like that before, but what's worse is that you didn't know about his little problem.

But he wants to keep it this way, for you to see him as an equal, for you to not be scared of what beast he holds, every month.

Because, you are very dear to him. Not in a way were lily or Marlene or Mary is very dear to him, but it's in a very different way.

Sure they were nice but, you were different. You supported him through everything even though you knew nothing.

Remus is afraid that he'll hurt you, in any way, he is scared. He is scared that he'll be rude to you, or scream to you, or even worse : physically hurting you.

"It's okay to have feelings, moony, admit it" James said, after you left. "I don't want feelings like this, you know that, I'll hurt her, but she's everything to me and I can't bring myself to hate or leave her alone! " Remus said, in a grumpy, tired voice.

"I think she likes you, you know, I could see it, I just can" James reassured. "Thanks for trying to make me feel better, prongs, but honestly I don't even know anymore, I just want to keep y/n away"

"Don't say that! " James's voice trembled through the thick walls of hogwarts, as you stood in front of their door.

You gasped, half of you wanted to leave, but, you decided to stay.

"I just, need to brush her off you know I need some..getaway from her" Remus said. "Remus, y/n is not some parasite or a tick.. She..! "

Before James could finish the sentence, you left.

You didn't cry, you felt betrayed, and empty, and sad. You knew you felt something for Remus, but for him to just say something like that was unbelievable to you.

All those years Remus understood you the most. His words made you pick yourself up, and be who you are today.

But never in a million years would you expect Remus to say that.

You can't tell lily, nor literally anyone, you just have to keep it together.

The next day, Remus could tell that your behavior changed alot. You didn't say good morning, or hi, or anything. You sat next to Sirius instead of him.

"Remus, Remus! Are you alright? " Peter said, his face full of concern. "Yes, I'm alright Peter" He said.

Then somethings happened, suddenly you didn't talk to him for one day, then that changed and it turned to two days, then, three, then four, then a week.

Remus was never this pissed and grumpy until now. "Shut up! " Remus said, in the dorm, making the three boy's face drop.

"Remus, you should take your wolfsbane, it's close" Sirius suggested. "I don't care about that right now, you being so closey close with her"

"Who? Y/n? " Sirius asked, his eyes opened. "Yes, you daft! Can't you see that I like her! Right, you probably can't but you can see the fact that she's avoiding me, everyone in this room knows that, and if you don't then leave"

"Easy, Remus, easy, we know you like her, but, we also know that she's avoiding you, but we don't know why" James frowned. "James, do me a favor and ask lily about it"

"She won't tell me, ask lily yourself" James sighed.

And there he was, walking to the library to meet lily. "I wanted to talk about y/n" Remus said. "Well you've gotta be quick cause were both supposed to be here like, in fifteen minutes" Lily said, pointing at the chair for Remus to sit in.

"Why is she avoiding me? " Remus asked to the point. "She.. I can't answer this and be loyal to her, but, I'm going to give you a small hint. She has liked this boy.. For a few years now and, she's just not feeling well right now, and she's super sensitive right now, and just don't be rude to her, okay? " Lily sighed.

Remus's stomach dropped. A boy? Who?. "Who is it? " He asked. "I can't Remus, she's not even open about it, the only person who knows is me"

"But I thought she trusted me.. " Remus frowned. "She does, Remus, but it is girl problems, so, girls tend to tell other girls about it. "

"She hates me doesn't she?, but I love her" Remus's insecure side kicked in, just as the same time as yours.

She? Who? . You mood was even worse now, leaving the library without even telling lily.

You went to your dorm immediately, and you bawled your eyes to your pillow.

When you woke up, you felt sore, and you could sense someone looking at you. "Are you alright, you look like a mess, what's wrong"

"You know who it's about, but I can't keep thinking about him, just, hey, come on its Sunday, we can't be sad on a happy Sunday" You changed the topic, which lily caught on to.

Your eyes were red and puffy, and your hair weren't neat.

"Y/n, seriously what's wrong? " Remus asked you immediately after you got to the great Hall. His friends were sitting at the table, and, lily walked away to give you space.

"I need to talk to you" He said, not giving you time to speak up. You walked to a nearby storage room. "Colloportus! " Remus whispered at the door.

"You've been a mess, and you won't talk to me" Remus said. "So you're saying that if I don't talk to you that means I'm a mess? " You debated, but, you knew damn well that you are a mess if you don't talk to him.

"If you don't want to talk to me than fine, but you need to talk to someone else cause you don't look well nor you look healthy, and secondly.. This is s hard question but, who is the lucky guy? " Remus sped up. "The lucky guy? Who? "

"If youre willing to describe the girl you were talking about to lily, fine, ill tell you" You said confidently.

"You heard? Which part? " Remus tensed up. "About a girl that hates you, and the fact that you love her"

"Okay, I'm going to describe her, but I won't say her name. Shes pretty, she's nice, she loves to help people, she's dreamy, but she needs help"

"Oh.. Alright then, Remus" You said quickly, before you whispered "alohomora" To the door.

That night Remus were frowning at all times. "And she said? " Peter asked.

"She said 'Oh.. Alright then, remus' then she just, left" He said unbelievably. "Didn't you say something about you saying that you'll describe who you like and she will say the guy that she likes name" Sirius gasped.

Slowly, the two other marauders mouth dropped. "What? ", " It's you, you daft, she said Remus! " James smiled.

"I can't afford that James, no, plus she doesn't actually like me" Remus frowned. "Dumbass she does, and what do you mean you can't afford that? " Sirius asked

"I haven't told her about the whole.. Thing, so, I just don't want to be anything more then friends with her"

"You do want it, but you think you can't" Peter mumbled. "That's not true, you can" James said.

"I can't, just, I can't, I'll hurt her, I know it" Remus shouted. "You won't know till you try" Sirius said.

"I won't know till it's too late, so I wouldn't even bother to try" Remus scoffed, rolling his eyes.

"Well, boys.. It's time already, come on" They all stood up, listening to James. The full moon was one hour away.

But little did they know, you were outside of the dorm, chilling while sitting beside a tree.

You saw movements of the whomping whillow, but it suddenly stopped. You saw a mouse going in, and a dog, then a deer like, well you can't tell what it was, and Remus.

You decided to follow him, you wanted to be sorry, but you'd be nuts to go into there, but you did anyway.

The place was rusty, and old, it was full of dust. You looked into the cracks, and all you felt was horror. Suddenly, you didn't see Remus, you saw something peculiar, and it saw you.

The dog barked, as the creature tries to scratch you and bite you. The dog barked, and the deer seemed to be telling you to come with it, you don't even know how you understood.

You panicked as you saw and open wound on your legs. "Holy shit! " Your mind started to raise. Is that a gazzele or a stag? I think it's a gazzele. Why does that dog reminds me of Sirius?

The next thing you see is the blinding light of the hospital wing. "What is that awful smell, James, hi Sirius, hi Peter" You yawned.

"She's awake! She's awake! " Peter gasped. "Quick, drink this! " James immediately shoved the glass of disgustingly flavored liquid, which your face scrunched up to.

"How did you find me? I was following a.. A.. A gazzele or some kind, and there was something I.. Don't know, I was following Remus, I wanted to talk to him, ouch! " You gasped. You felt a sting on your legs, consider the big wound.

"Shit! " Remus groaned. "Remus!" You sat up, which you received a few 'no!' 's to. "Are you alright? Oh my god, good Lord you're hurt again" You frowned.

"See shit like this has never happened before! " Remus spat out. "We'll leave.. " James said, taking the boys away.

"You can't just follow people, y/n that's not right! " Remus said, turning to look at you, looking worse than you are.

"I wanted to say sorry for being an asshole! " You said. "You're lucky James were there, you could've died! "

"James weren't there, Remus! " You said, not remember any other person other than Remus himself.

"Can't you see y/n, don't you get it? I'm a werewolf, I hurt you, and I obviously don't want that! " Remus shouted.

"So, who cares if you were a werewolf, Remus? Gosh, is this why you and your friends are always away every full moon? "

"Yes, y/n, just stop," Remus said. "A simple sorry wouldve solved it you know? " You said, but Remus didn't exactly understand.

"It's suddenly my fault now? " Remus scoffed, "Remus that's not what I meant! Why are you such an asshole Remus! I thought you know me! But after all these years I was so patient! You'd say rude things but I'd still cry to you, but what's worse is I cry about you and I'm doing it right now so, after this don't talk to me, please! I didn't blame this on you! I knew it was my fault for following you but I didn't know nor did you so just,let's just forget it,alright? Just, forget about us" You cried, willing the tears away, laying back on the bed.

You wanted to leave, but, neither of you could.

Remus heart broke everytime he heard your little sniffles. Remus knew how you cried, and he also knows that you are holding it in.

Days passed after that day in the hospital wing. You didn't say a word to him, nor did you tell anyone about it.

"Why would he say that? " Lily gasped, in the library, after making sure no one was there. "I don't know, lily, but I feel really bad for him, what if he's not okay? " You said, in a concerned tone.

"Y/n, it's time for you to actually take care of yourself" Lily suggested. "That'll be nice" You sighed.

"I heard from lils that.. Well she isn't doing the worst, but she's still.. Healing" James said, receiving protests from Peter and Sirius, "James why would you say that", " Prongs, Remus, I swear she's fine"

"No she's not, I wanna meet her, she's barely around nowadays" Remus said, still being in denial.

"Remus, if you do want to try then listen to me" James said, taking a deep breath, before continuing. "If you do love the girl, you can't scream at her, yes your feelings are valid, but for six years she has been holding her anger and sadness because of the words you say to her, you pointed out the things that she's insecure of, but then you decide to be nice to her? She's confused Remus, and it doesn't take a long time for her to realize that she could just find someone else so please take care of her! " James rambled.

"I am going to take care of her, James, now where would she be? " Remus asked, standing up. "Library".

Remus walked slowly to the library, as he saw you alone, packing your books in your bag.

"Remus, you're not supposed to be walking too fast" You said worriedly, flinching to help him, but you hold your self from helping him.

"Tell me what you want, alright? " You asked him.

"I love you"

"what? "

"I love you"

"No.. "

"I love you"

"Remus that's not fair" You kept yourself together. "Do you feel the same? " Remus asked. "Remus you can't ask that to me"

"Have you ever loved me" Remus asked. "I do love you"

"So why can't we be something? " Remus frowned. "We can't I'm sorry, I love you but we can't, I'm scared Remus, but I don't want you to feel like I'm scared of you, I'm scared of us! What If things goes wrong and we won't even be friends! That'll destroy me! " Your eyes was waterry and glassy.

"We won't go wrong, y/n, not anymore" Remus awkwardly hugged you, but he finally got comfortable.

"Remus we've got a lot to talk about" You sighed. "But before that, I'm not trying to make things go too fast, but, do you want to be my girlfriend, i-i swear I wont-"

Your lips clashed to his, your body felt relaxed and so was his, as if it took all the tension away.

When You both pulled away, Remus awkwardly said "thankyou?"

"I love you, Remus"

"Love you more"

Ok. But like?

I'm cool with remus not being traditionally beautiful. But Sirius still thinking he's the best thing ever. I think that he has certain attractive features, but he's def not some rockstar and most ppl don't take a second glance. But you need that to see the shade of his eyes, his crooked smile. Sirius loves him and finds beauty because of not despite of his scars. Bc they show strength and tell a story.

Mid level I think someone put it. Sure, I get why that can be a thing.

But. I think he can have sex appeal in other ways. His smile, his voice, a look in his eyes, muscles in certain places that defies him being otherwise skinny.

I'm fine with sirius being super intelligent and quick. Its canon after all. I love how him and James have this quality. But I don't think that means that remus liking to read or studying a lot takes that away from Sirius. I think that he likes academic validation, and he needs to read and study to stay caught up. He wants to prove he's worthy to be at school and has to work for it. I do think that he's smart though, and adds to group dynamics.

I don't think that he's just a downer and boring persay, otherwise why would they want to be with him. I think that he'll do the research maybe on the great idea that Sirius and James had and they will later carry it out flawlessly. Or sees some kind of gap in the plan and can think quick to help patch it up.

I do think he probably gets so hyperfixated on things which some people can't stand. but sirius loves to hear him talk about it. Just like remus is obsessed with everything sirius has to say. He's totally a nerd but I don't think he's just pathetic or a loser. Or maybe I just don't see those words the same as the recent posts have been using for him.

I think he's extraordinarily kind. he worships sirius, who in turn thinks remus is also the best. He's not rude to him even though I really do think they fight. But can't stay mad at each other long.

I do think that he can be angry, but I also think that a lot of times it's just at himself or crappy life circumstances. He's normally careful to keep any anger controlled bc he's worried about perception.

he's shy and and awkward and deals with a lot. He loves to help the younger students, and he uses above hard earned study methods to help them bc everything doesn't just come naturally or can share how he overcame it.

If everyone has a crush it's not bc he's completely hot or any of that. He's a soft boy with big comfy sweaters that gives good hugs. He's a good listener, a good teacher, shares anything he has, especially the chocolate that seems to be never ending in his bag. Bc he believes that it'll make you feel better. He has a kind word or compliment and can make you feel better.

I think he can be a momma's boy. And wants hope or poppy to hug him, and give him a space to cry and be weak. Otherwise I think that he likes to try to hide his pain bc he doesn't want to be a burden.

And ... That all said. I think that CR remus is different than a lot of this and hes absolutely perfect and I love him and I'd do insane things for this fictional man. It's one of my favorite ways to read about him. But something that carries over there from everything else I said is how enamored he is with Sirius Black. And how much he loves his inner circle. How he has this sacrificial love.

But anyways, I could go on about CR but that's totally not the point. Ive just seen a few things and wanted to say some things about how I see him a lot. And maybe the posts that have me feeling kind of sad talking about him are actually saying some of the same things I'm just negatively associating some words or ideas bc I know personally I can also interpret things completely the wrong way or not read into the subtext well enough

And the people who like to come all up in my inbox about hating Sirius-- this isnt that. To be clear. I don't want remus to take over any traits of Sirius or whatever else you accuse me of. This has to do mostly with remus except me saying that sirius sees something in remus that a lot of people don't, that they're in love and adore each other.

I do in fact love Sirius Black and think he's wonderful. And you're missing the point if you think I hate that man. But I want to talk about remus rn and if you want something talking about Sirius, so many other wonderful people on here do that, so let's find that instead and let me hyperfixate and talk about remus.

Other random things I'll probably add to that really are prb just me.

-he is super annoying in class bc he shakes his leg or taps his quill. Sirius thinks it's adorable though.

Judging solely by Hard Scientific Evidence (my ao3 bookmarks) - its Established Relationship, Alternate Universe - Modern Setting and Canon Divergence (if we ignore fanfic genres). Filtered to only HP fics its Established Relationship, Alternate Universe - Modern Setting and Canon Compliant.

Although considering two of them are regarding the canon/alternate setting and aren’t exactly tropes (and Im not sure i would say i agree with this data) - I was resorted to breaking down my two OTPs (wolfstar and stucky) into pieces ;)

So, lets see what we can find inside :D

Childhood Friends to Lovers

Or friends to lovers. Or strangers to friends to lovers. Any form of buddyslash, as it used to be called, as opposed to enemyslash. I am very much not an enemies to lovers person. Even in case of rivals to lovers ships im actually interested in them after they move into a more amicable territory.

So, friends to lovers is my fav type of ship dynamic, I believe.

Im not sure why? Maybe its got sth to do with me being maybe probably on the ace spectrum. Maybe I just think a good romance starts with friendship as opposed to bad romance that starts with rah rah-ah-ah-ah.

2. Separated by war and imprisonment and Reunited against all odds

This just screams soulmatism to me, and not in a “we are soulmates bc we fit so well together” (bc r/s dont) but in a “the chances of us finding each other again were so minuscule it must have been done consciously by the universe”. Its sometimes so crazy to me that this things happened canonically. The shack scene is absolutely crazy on its own (the forgave each other 12 years of pain in one conversation) and then Sirius and Remus go live together for like a year. The whole Winter Soldier movie is, again, bonkers, when you have shipping goggles on (and even if you dont, the romance isnt in the subtext, its in the text)

I was surprised I was into exes to lovers in modern/no magic aus, but yeah its canon for r/s so it makes sense. Something something second chances something something love conquers all something something they were meant to be something something soulmates.

3. Recovering after years of torture prison

hurt/Comfort my beloved.

This trope fits fill-in-the-blanks type of canon-compliant fics for r/s and canon-divergent fix-its fics for s/b.

In case of wolfstar this is Lie Low at Lupin’s. Absolute banger. *slaps hood* This bad boy can fit so many smaller tropes. Bed sharing. Bath sharing. Helping wash/cut hair. Comforting after a nightmare. Communicating and talking and settings things straight after years of lost time. Yeah. Cannot go wrong with this one. (and I can pretend they stay in this intimate serene bubble and nothing bad ever happens to them bc im delusional)

In case of stucky its all types of post-WS or post-CW fix-its where Bucky finally gets some fucking treatment and therapy (and actual therapy, not this piss-poor excuse for a therapist from TFATWS).

In both cases there is also an interesting switch in the dynamic that im not sure i can put into right words. Just, the one that used to stand up for the other, take care of them, was more confident and outgoing, now is the one being taken care of bc they went through hell and were on a run from the government for 2 years. And the one taking care of them is doing only slightly better, had a bit more time to adjust, but still, is quite traumatized as well.

first and foremost a few things i want to write before this post properly begins:

im not going to tag this as anything bc i dont want to push it into any space. i really just wanted to write down some of my personal fandom observations/experiences.

this post isnt me hating on anybody, im a firm believer in blocking people/tags i dont like

this post will discuss my personal dislike of wolfstar & sirius black and how fandom is (mostly) at fault for this dislike. if you dont want to read anything like that this is your warning, no hard feelings fr i honestly just wanted to yap

so.

when i first got into the hp fandom, i was probably what. like, 10? my favorite ships were drarry and wolfstar, and i was obsessed with both. i was a firm believer in wolfstar being the one true ship for sirius and remus. i was a complete remadora hater (which, to be honest, i still kind of am, but now i have more reasoning than simply "i dislike that it goes against wolfstar". i think this is a perfectly valid reason for not liking remadora, it's just not my reason). for a couple of years, i would write teddy lupin as teddy lupin-black and completely erase tonks from the picture - im pretty sure i have at least one oneshot up on ao3 rn that does this. now, the whole "erasing the canon mother in favor of a mlm ship" issue is more relevant to me in terms of jegulus + harry + lily, and i know that i cant stand when i or anybody else erases lily (or any other mother, really), so i think this says a lot about how committed i used to be to the ship.

then, for a couple of years, i drifted away from the fandom. i wasn't all that invested in it back then, not like i am now. i was on tumblr, but i mostly posted writing snippets and oc introductions rather than looking at fandom tumblr.

even after a few years, when i came back, the fandom was a very different place than it was when i left. which is great, imo! jegulus is one of my favorite ships. i've met so many great people. i've read some amazing fics and joined some great communities. but... wolfstar. it changed a lot, and not in a way i like.

my sirius black is fem. i just want to say that now. i almost never talk about sirius, bc to be completely honest, fandom has ruined him for me to the point that i cant even write him myself. (once again, this isn't against anyone. it's just a personal opinion.)

the only wolfstar fic i ever read and come back to is ten reasons (to go to michigan) by greyeyedmonster18 because i found it once and liked the characterizations of sirius and remus. (i totally recommend this, btw - go check it out! it's very good.)

anyway, let's get to what i was talking about earlier about fandom "ruining" wolfstar and sirius black for me.

see, when i think about wolfstar back when i shipped it (wolfstar that is more based in canon, as well, bc back then i was still engaging with hp whereas now i havent touched the books, movies, or anything else since then), i see them like this: sirius is caring and loyal and impulsive and reckless and cool. he's fiery and sort of miserable and desperate to be around for his godson. remus is bookish and smart and polite. he has issues - boy, does he - but he's also caring and diplomatic. despite all he's gone through, he's remained a genuinely kind, fair person. he, too, wants to help harry.

to me, all this is why they worked so well together. remus could control sirius, yes, could calm him down, but really, they balanced each other out. sirius could help remus speak up more and remus could help sirius quiet down and give everyone a chance, as remus tended to do, at least to an extent. to me, this was an example of a perfectly balanced, healthy relationship. to me, wolfstar was two middle aged men who are undeniably good for each other, who make each other better, who can bond further over a desire to help harry, their late best friend's son. they are angry about peter and the war and everything, but they have each other, and they both are going to stop this war for harry and for their friends.

i grew up in an accepting community. i have gay uncles and other queer relatives. i, however, was never taught about anything queer, and was severely lacking in any material to use for self-discovery. in other words: i didn't have any idea of my queerness for quite a while, at least in my book, because i didnt know about the possibility of queerness. my uncles are, to put it bluntly, not my favorite people, and certainly not people i am or will ever be close with. my cousin, who is gay, is also significantly older than me and has always lived at the very least halfway across the country. so, when i saw wolfstar - a healthy, balanced, gay relationship - i latched onto them. (drarry, too - read literally one fic of them, followed it religiously, and it was pretty much the same thing: a healthy, balanced relationship. there were problems, both between harry and draco and within their world, but they were able to work through them together. the big difference here is that i actually still like drarry, and i still read it occasionally, unlike wolfstar.)

today, i see wolfstar like this: sirius is feminine. this is not a problem. my problem is everything after that, because after that, sirius is also tiny (short and thin) and dramatic and annoying and whiny. remus is tall and smart and he swears like a sailor. he is jaded by his experiences and more apathetic than anything else when it comes to the antics of his fellow marauders. (any time i see someone portraying him as upset or caring in some way, now, it feels out of character, at least to a point). remus is also, almost always, a top. which, hey, do whatever you want, but do you see where im going with this? it's an issue ive seen multiple people talk about. the issue - or rather, issues? misogyny and homophobia.

today, most of the hp/marauders fandom makes sirius into a very small, feminine person who is dramatic and who complains a lot and who is submissive to remus, who is tall and strong and dangerous and mysterious. remus, who completely dominates sirius both sexually and in maturity and stature. of course there was smut back when i was first in the fandom, because there's always been smut, though i never read it as i was, as i have mentioned, very young. and i was able to avoid it completely. now, wolfstar as a ship seems very sexualized. in general, the fandom has become more sexualized, but wolfstar especially, at least in what i've noticed. once again, do you see the problem here? a mlm ship turned into something that looks much more heteronormative, now with the added bonus of the sexualization lgbtqia+ people - especially people in achillean relationships - face? (note: wlw relationships are also extremely sexualized, but im specifically mentioning mlm relationships bc wolfstar are traditionally an mlm relationship and because i more often see mlm relationships sexualized by people in and out of the queer community, while i usually see wlw relationships being sexualized only by people outside of the queer community.)

so, let's review, just from my perspective. i, a queer person with barely any exposure to irl queerness as a child, latched onto wolfstar because they were an example of a healthy, balanced, mutually beneficial romantic relationship between two men, contained within a piece of media i liked at the time. i left the fandom for a few years, during which i was exposed to a whole lot of gay shit and began to properly discover my identity. by the time i reentered the marauders fandom, i had more or less figured myself out. i rejoin the fandom and see that wolfstar is now often portrayed with a very misogynistic, heteronormative dynamic, and the ship is also very sexualized. first, i distance myself a little bit. then a lot. now, it is at the point where i do not interact with wolfstar content, never seek wolfstar out in fics (this, alongside with my total inability to read longfics, is the biggest reason why i haven't read and don't ever plan to read atyd), and tbh consider blocking the wolfstar tag at least once every couple days. (ive blocked a lot of tags, but many of my mutuals are wolfstar shippers, and it's generally such a big ship that im very hesitant about blocking it.)

these are just my thoughts that i have been wanting to share for a while now on my views on the progression and change wolfstar, as a ship, has seen over the past decade. i think that it is important to point out when i see themes of misogyny, homophobia, sexualization, etc. in fandom, especially within a fandom so dear to me as the marauders fandom is and with one of the fandom's biggest ships. so yeah. i understand that this will make some people annoyed (on the rare occasion i mention my dislike for wolfstar in any capacity, which has only happened like twice, i am told i am wrong for having this opinion by multiple people) and some people mad and some people very mad, but tbh, i don't care. at the end of the day these are fictional people and this is a fandom based on the imagination of the fans rather than the source media's shitty author, and despite all that i blabbed about above i am still a very happy and active member of this fandom. im happy to hear the thoughts of anybody on this topic, really.

Remus is dying. Well, not really. But the extent of his suffering is pretty high right now. He's on one of these blind date sessions James' coffee shop organizes once in a while. It's for single people who are interested in meeting someone new - according to James they're supposed to come and "mingle".

It's exactly as dreadful as it sounds.

James had forced him to go after he'd whined to him about being single again for too long.

They have been friends from the moment they met at high school so James is pretty used to Remus' repining and moping. But, apparently, it got much worse since James got together with his new partner Lily (Remus is supposed to meet her and her best friend next week for lunch). He's happy for James of course, but it also makes the loneliness in his heart sting a little bit sharper. Also, James has been insufferable - he either talks Remus' ear off about how amazing Lily is, or he tries to set Remus up with whoever has the misfortune of standing the closest, so they could all go to "wicked double dates". Remus has no idea what is so "wicked" about double dates but he's glad to stay clear of them for now.

James had promised to come and make Remus company if the mingling didn't go well but he's nowhere in sight the git. Typical.

Remus tries. He really does. But everyone is either too obnoxious, boring, stupidly posh or weird. He gives up on seriously trying to find someone decent to talk to after 30 minutes of hopeless small talk and decides to just make fun of it. Besides, he's on his fourth Martini (James' bribe for coming are free drinks) so it seems like the only logical option. That's when he sees a man coming in his direction and the first thing he notices is the funny name on the sticker everyone was forced to take and write their name on.

Remus snorts into his glass. He can't help himself.

"What's up, star boy"

The man lifts his head. When he sees Remus he gives him an obvious once over and then arches his eyebrow. Remus' breath catches.

Fuck. He's gorgeous.

"You're one to talk wolf boy. But I have to admit I'd like to hear you howl."

Remus responds before he can think about it.

"Sorry to disappoint but wolfs only howl at the moon."

Sirius’s brow quirked at that, heat flooding his gaze as he shifted further up Remus’s body so they were eye to eye, suddenly more awake than he'd been a second ago.

Remus swallowed as Sirius’s thumb traced the swell of his lip, his breath leaving him in a rush when Sirius leaned in to press a kiss just off the corner of his mouth.

“Well then, your wish is my command sweetheart.” 

Remus had barely sucked in a breath when Sirius surged forward, capturing his lips in a slow, filthy kiss, licking into his mouth as he shifted his weight to lie fully atop Remus. Remus revelled in the familiar press of his husband’s body on his, every ridge and dip so lovingly known and worshipped for so many years that Sirius’s body had become a prayer unto itself.

Remus let out a low, rumbling, groan; his hands shaking ever so slightly in Sirius’s hair as he tried, in vain, to not buck into his husband’s touch.
