Random Astrology Observations
🌻I wasn't feeling lazy today so this is a bit longer than the usual observation posts🌻
🦋And finally the pricing catalogue is here...at the end of the observations 🦋
Thank you so much my sunflowers🌻your support has been everything. I try my best to respond to your messages and requests. If you haven't received a response, I'm coming 🤍✨
And I tried my best to be reasonable with the prices. Also, I'm not yet doing full chart readings as I am a student with two majors and I'm already struggling with balancing things. In time I will do them. Free one question culture requests are still open, but please don't request for things you see on the pricing catalogue like a big three reading...
I don't want to bore you all too much so here we go🧚🏾♀️🦋🌻✨
Astrology Notes...
~4th house Gemini makes for someone who develops family-like bonds in friendships.
~taurus risings tend to be possessive due to the influence of their scorpio 7th house.
~pluto at angular houses 1st, 7th, 4th and 10th is a huge indicator of someone who has had intense experiences in the respective key areas of life and there's spiritual lessons to be learnt regarding that area through transformation.
~libra venus placements may find it really hard to stay single
~7° and 19° venus or moon signs may struggle with the theme of physical perfection and wanting to attain it.
~virgo moons have a tendency of creating problems if they don't have any current ones to solve
~capricorn risings really do look older in their younger days and younger when they're older.
~moon and neptune in 1st house natives may give off the perception that they need saving and may attract people with a martyrdom complex.
~sagittarius, 9th house, 9° and 21° mercuries may have an affinity to music in foreign languages while cancer, 4th house, 4°,16°,28° may enjoy music in their mother tongue
~jupiter in 2nd house and 10th house is heavy lotto winner vibes. Literally and figuratively.
~mercury in 2nd house and at Taurean degrees(2°,14° and 26°) are the born singers
~the 22nd degree is an underrated fame degree...I have a bey's🐝 fame analysis I've been sitting on for a while. That's a conversation for another day.
~pisces venus and mars are the most romantic people in the world which makes me kind of believe the astrology theory of neptune being the higher frequency of venus.
~leo moons really take their hair seriously and may feel out of loop if their hair is not well done.
~want to easily impress a cancer mars man??? Sing praises to your mom. Be dotting around kids.
~girls with 9th house, 9° and 21° Venus are so magically beautiful. Abundance of beauty.
~To a decent degree, liberation of women in society came at the expense of gemini, sagittarius and aquarius venus women being slut-shamed(This is not at all saying other women did not contribute to the liberation of women 🌻✨ That's a conversation for another day)
~neptune plays a huge role in beauty trends and that's why neptune dominant women are usually the beauty influencers which explains why beauty standards are mutable and ever changing.
~jupiter in 7th house can go two ways... extreme luck in meaningful relationships or someone who never has serious relationships and is forever on the look...
~pisces/12th house mercuries and mercury afflicted by neptune are often under fire for being the liars when the real culprit is the sagittarius/9th house mercuries and mercury-jupiter hard aspects.
~I personally view the north node as a jupiter variant. While the general consensus is that it is the purpose we're working for, I do believe that it's also an indicator of our birthrights, innate gifts and where we're lucky.

So, I love the headcanon of the batfam being menaces in the kitchen, and that half of them are banned from entering for the rest of their life.
However, you can't tell me that Batman, the man who has contingency plans for his contingency plans, who carries shark spray repellent, the man who travelled for a year (i think ?) on his own with only a backpack (and a lot of money but still), doesn't know how to cook. There is no way, he can't fend for himself in any type of situation (apocalypse ? ready; zombies ? ready; stranded on an island on his own ? ready). He can definitely take care of himself without Alfred, because Bruce is paranoid and there's the eventuality of the butler dying. And anyway, he probably learnt some dishes when he was younger so he could help Alfred around the house (it made him feel closer to the only caring adult in his life). He also definitely learnt traditional dishes while travelling and every time he adopts (it's his way of showing he cares).
(Cooking was one of the ways he bonded with Jason. The boy was tense and wary, not used to having so much food for free. When Bruce realised Jason cooked, he offered to teach him a few dishes he learnt around the world. It was the first time Jason called Bruce 'dad'. Every year they would cook (and make a mess) for Alfred's birthday.)
There's this whole thing with Dick only eating cereal (I don't know much about him, sorry) and being close behind Bruce as a kitchen menace. I don't really know how life in a circus works, but I'll go with the fact that they didn't always have access to a kitchen while traveling, so the food was never sophisticated. Yet, with the circus, Dick travelled a lot and met wonderful people. Some locals would sometimes bring them traditional plates, and even teach him how to cook them. The reason he doesn't really cook is because he finds the kitchen too complicated. Who needs so many utensils ? It's disorienting and feels too clinical (Dick associates cooking with sweet lessons from his mom and having fun with the people from the circus.).
(The times he actually took the time to cook at the manor was when Jason joined and they would try to bake. Dick cooks with Damian sometimes. At first it was to make him comfortable by being domestic, giving the excuse of learning to work together, but now it's just to bond. Bruce joins them sometimes.)
As said previously Jason knows how to cook. I'm not sure if it's canon, but he cooked for his mom, and is never banned from the kitchen in what I read. Similarly to Dick, he grew up cooking easy things. He didn't have access to much food, most of the time stealing from markets and fighting for bread in back alleys. He would stand in the shadows, staring at the window of a restaurant kitchen until he knew the moves by heart and would redo them at home (he'd spend days saving money and stealing the adequate ingredients). It was always simple dishes though. So when Jason first stepped in the kitchen ? He was amazed, and felt like one of those chefs he would observe for ours. The first weeks, he'd wait until everyone was in bed and sneaked in to cook (Alfred always acted like he didn't know). When he came back to Gotham after the pit, he began stress-cooking a lot. He'd steal money from Bruce and cook enough to feed a whole building in Crime Alley (he ate some once and threw up immediately. It tasted too much like home. He never ate anything he cooked again).
(Cooking with Alfred became an excuse to come to the manor and stay for dinner and sometimes even the night. (The first few times, the butler was the only one Jason could be with without activating his fight or flight instinct.) Watching his family unknowingly eat something he cooked and praising the food makes him feel like he may be allowed to be part of the family. Slowly, he starts leaving food to them (on the batmobile because he knows Bruce didn't eat before patrol, in Tim's office because he overworked and didn't go home, in Dick's kitchen because he got hurt during his day job), and nobody ever mentions it.)
I already explained my point of view for Tim in a previous post. Whether his parents were loving or not (fanon vs canon), they still travelled a lot. So Tim grew up having to learn to cook because there wasn't always someone at Drake's manor, and Drakes don't call people in the middle of the night because they're hungry or a little sick. So Tim knew the basics to care for himself, he learnt to wrap and stitch his own wounds at ten after being too close to an explosion where Batman and Riddler fought (seeing later the pictures he got, Tim thought getting some glass in his arm was completely worth it). Of course, he doesn't know any complicated dishes, he does enjoy the chemical aspect of it, the reactions between the ingredients, the way the molecules change with time and temperature variations. Tim also enjoys the historic aspect of it, so he'd learn to make dishes just because he liked the story related to its invention (it has proven useful in many social gatherings to know so much about food and culture). When he started as Robin, those skills became useful when he had to cook for Bruce in the middle of the night because he wouldn't wake Alfred up. After moving in the manor, Tim kind of dropped this little hobby. Alfred is here to cook, and he has other things to worry about (Jason coming back, then Damian being introduced, the whole time stream issue...).
(When he has some time, Tim scrolls on his social media, saving videos about recipes and learning about dishes and their history. He promises himself he'll find some time to try them. When Jason starts leaving each of them food, Tim buys a recipe book. As often as he can, he cooks something, prints a copy of the recipe and drops it off at Jason's current place. One time, when Damian is sick and no one else but Tim is at the manor, he ends up cooking an Arabic dish (a grandma recipe for sick children). Damian stops saying he's useless after this.)
Again, I don't know much about Cass, so it's really how I feel about it. Cass grew with simple dishes. When she joined the batfam, she didn't understand the importance of sharing a meal, people eating together, Alfred spending so much time in the kitchen, or why there were so many ways to cook one ingredient. Just like Dick, the kitchen feels too unnecessarily full, too many things that are just not imperative. To her, food was here to feed and strengthen the body. Cooking should be fast and easy because food was not supposed to be pleasant, just necessary. She doesn't really know how to cook. She can prepare food so it's edible, hunt or light up a fire. But growing up with her father taught her that food is only here to feed. She actually discovers its importance after walking in on Jason and Alfred cooking together. It was one of the rare times Jason would go farther than the cave and into the manor. They were not talking, and yet the atmosphere was soft, acknowledging. Reading Jason's body, she saw happiness and contemptment, the usual tension and anger nowhere in sight. She asks Tim about him (because he's the one who offered to teach her sign language, the one who she goes to when she needs a definition.) and he tells her how cooking can be many things, it can be an offer, it can be death, it can be love, it can be survival...
(Alfred once explained how it was his way of caring. He'd make different dishes depending on people's mood or state. When Cass understood that cooking was a form of language, she took it upon herself to learn. She watches Alfred cook for days, asking questions. She goes to Jason's place to ask him his opinion, teasing him when he gets flustered under her staring. She learns to cook and enjoys it.)
At the league, Damian was a prince. He didn't cook, it was beneath his status, there were servants for that. Like Cass, although he had access to higher quality food, it was only there to feed you. When he arrived at the manor ? The shock to see only one servant, and that his Father sometimes cooked for himself. His Father, who her mother had represented as a king, someone powerful enough to have his grandfather's respect, the man he was supposed to become. It took time for Damian to step into the kitchen for different reasons. First of all, the kitchen was not his place to be, it's Pennyworth's territory. He was not welcome there and knew that to make an enemy out of the man that raised his Father. Secondly, Damian was taught restraint, he would not give in to his basic urge. He could wait until morning even if he felt like his stomach was clenching on itself. The reason for walking in the kitchen was Grayson dragging him inside, promising some bonding time necessary for working together (it was fun, although Damian would not admit it).
(After realising the importance of cooking in the household, Damian decided he could not not know how to cook. Everyone seemed to have the knowledge it wouldn't do for him not to know. Maybe, he also felt like cooking would teach him to be a better part of the family and be accepted as the method he was taught all his life did not work. He learnt to cook on his own, sneaking in the kitchen and training. When he finally mastered a dish, he announced to Alfred he'll be cooking for the evening. Even if he'd never admit it, the praises he received that evening made him feel lighter, like he belonged. And no Grayson, he was not blushing.)
When Duke moves in the manor, it's kinda weird to have a butler. Duke was raised in a normal, middle class family, so cooking is a normal thing he helped his parents with. He would come home from school and help his parents cook dinner, sometimes doing it himself if they were still at work. He didn't know anything fancy or foreign dishes, but he could cook well. So having Alfred do it alone all day ? Not how Duke was raised. The first weeks, he would go into the kitchen and offer his help to Alfred, who would constantly refuse, joking about letting him do his job or he might become useless in his old age. Although it was a joke, Duke (who had just moved in and didn't really know how to act) stopped asking, not wanting to make the butler think he was taking his place.
(He still cooks sometimes, when he feels nostalgic. Cooking reminds him of his parents, his mothers' laughter and his father(s warm hand on his shoulder. When Duke discovers that Cass is learning to cook, he decides to do it with her, learning new recipes from around the world. It helped him a lot to feel at home at the Wayne manor.)
My point is, love the massacre this family can be when left unattended in a kitchen, but they definitely know how to cook.

Harry’s life at the Dursley makes me extra side when I remember he was a baby when he came to them. It makes me wonder when did he start sleeping in the cupboard?
And then I spiral and think about Harry calling Petunia mom when he is three years old. How did she raise him until he became a kid? And I think about him doing art during Mother and Father’s Day for his uncle and his aunt and them throwing it in the bin. Did he try to listen Petunia read a story to Dudley? Did he ever learn how to swim with school and he just never learnt?
And it makes me so, so sad.
It is. Everything about Harry's childhood breaks my heart. I already talked about it here and here.
We actually have a very depressing answer about the swimming lessons bit from GoF:
He wasn’t a very good swimmer; he’d never had much practice. Dudley had had lessons in his youth, but Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon, no doubt hoping that Harry would drown one day, hadn’t bothered to give him any.
Which I take to mean he had maybe, like, two or three lessons for swimming at school and that's it.
As for the other stuff, I don't remember direct answers so you're going to hear my headcanons:
1. I think Harry never called Petunia "mom". When he was a baby he still could remember his mother and as he grew up he got used to calling her "Aunt Petunia" so he never called her mom except for maybe one time on accident when he was 3 or 4 which he was screamed at for: "I'm not you're mother, Freak!" and probably also slapped for.
2. I think when he was very very young, like, younger than 2-3 Petunia did put more effort in keeping him alive immediately after her sister's death and with Dumbledore's letter/threat fresh in her mind. But slowly she saw nothing happened and no one came when she treated Harry badly, so it emboldened the Duesleys.
I also think Harry started showing magic at a very young age, like 4-5, and when he did, Petunia and Vernon moved him to the cupboard and their treatment of him worsened even more.
After all, Petunia remembers her childhood with Lily who could do magic, she would recognize it for what it is — and she and Vernone are terrified of it. That's why the moment Harry showed signs of magic I believe they moved him to the cupboard to keep him away from Dudley.
3. The idea you brought up about little Harry making a family drawing of him with the Dursleys and Petunia scrunching her nose before throwing it in the bin in front of Harry's face.... shit, that's so sad and I'm sure it happened. I just imagine baby Harry's face, all proud of his drawing and not fully understanding the Dursleys yet with his cute nose and big green eyes and he would be so disappointed. I don't think he'd cry though. I think by that point he learned Vernon and Petunia don't like him crying.
4. I think the next year he drew himself with how he imagines his parents to be and he hides it from the Dursleys because Harry's a fast learner. I'm sure he spent nights dreaming about who his parents were from the very little information he got out of Petunia.
5. I can definitely see a young Harry crouching near Dudley's bedroom door as Petunia tells him a story. And then when she's done, he'd run away quickly so he won't be caught.
6. As a bit of a continuation of sneaking around to listen to bedtime stories, I think watching television at the Dursleys was similar. We know from canon Harry did use the time the Dursleys were away to watch television or play on Dudley's computer:
“You could just leave me here,” Harry put in hopefully (he’d be able to watch what he wanted on television for a change and maybe even have a go on Dudley’s computer) .
(PS)
Though I don't think the Dursleys allowed him to do it, he just got good at sneaking around when they're not there. I'm saying that since Harry mentions Mrs. Figg lets him watch television:
She let Harry watch television and gave him a bit of chocolate cake that tasted as though she’d had it for several years.
(PS)
So it seems he wasn't usually allowed to watch television or play on Dudley's computer. I think the way Harry watches television when the Dursleys are home is by standing at the doorway and watching without them noticing (that's why he can't pick what to watch). I mean, we kinda see him doing it in OotP when he lays beneath the window to listen to the news on their television without them knowing.
Yeah, Harry's childhood was so depressing and I think the books actually portray him and how his childhood affected him well considering the books were limited in what they were allowed to show. I think the signs of trauma and abuse are clear if you look for them, even if they're not all called out in an obvious manner.
Writing this post just made me super sad now for Harry. My boy deserved so much better.

So, here we have a saying that goes "Brazilians need to be studied by NASA". It's due to many things, but mostly because of our passive skill: Gambiarra, aka, Advanced Red Neck Engineering.
So, I was thinking, how would the head of engineering of each Star Trek series react to having a Brazilian engineer (because an engineering degree can't stop the Gambiarras. They'll actually become better with it.) in their territory?
Scotty would drink with them, and creates a policy of "if I can't fix it, bring in the Brazilian". He doesn't touch the Gambiarras, and actually likes some of them better than the way the ship was originally designed. When questioned (most likely be Spock), he just says "we're light years from anything else, laddie. You expecting an inspector or something?" Then proceeds to take a swing of a bottle of cachaça.
Geordi, the perfect By-the-book engineer, would be running after them, trying to "fix" their Gambiarras, only to be told not to touch them or something else, that is completely unrelated, will explode. He learns that lesson the hard way, and never again touches anything with a clear Gambiarra. He's still surprised that some have lasted so long (irl, it's normal to find some that are 10+ years old because they just work better)
O'Brian loves them. Living in DS9 and having to engineer a way to make Cardassian and Federation technology work together? They're besties. They're often at Quarks (who disgruntlely learnt to make an actually good Caipirinha), and trying to figure out how to make things work out. The one time O'Brien freaked out, was when his pet Brazilian went on a space walk to fix a docking port, and their suit was 80% tape. They were grounded after that and O'Brien got Keiko to give them a "disappointed Asian mom" glare, the one thing capable of stopping them, in the lack of a Latina mom holding a Havaiana (/Chancla)
B'Ellana is kinda like Geordi, but she's not intimidated by the eventual explosion. She tried to fix every single one "the right way", and only stopped when removing the Gambiarra that was, somehow, keeping the Holodecks working also, somehow, disconnected the sonic showers. After that, she gave them a deadline. Any Gambiarra should be gone within the week. They were actually there for months at a time, and she didn't exactly complain.
Trip is happy to have them there. Someone who can fix a ship with nothing more than a wrench, some bubblegum and tape? That's his dream come true. They keep the shuttlepods functional, and have put a recipe for Brazilian coffee and Caipirinha on the drink replicator. Somehow, the coffee always tastes better when they're the one ordering it, and they have a collection of a specific kind of glass that they'll drink everything from. However, they're the chef's worst nightmare, because they're extremely picky on how their food should be prepared Brazilian style (aka, lots of onion and garlic, well salted and with rice and beans for their lunch every day.)

Hi, i was wondering if you could do some wholesome headcannons for Y/N (who acts like Douchebag in the sot game) Thats like a sister to Cartman. His mother adores her and he likes to bully her. But when others do it hes like "No only i can >:/"

Cartman w/ reader who’s like a sister to him
a/n: this is an old request that’s been sitting in my inbox for over 2 yrs, decided to write it as my first request since i’ve returned :3
• oh boy, cartman as a brother figure could be both great and awful.
• having first met you he would notice how quiet and chill you are, trying to get you to crack on many different occasions (failing miserably everytime). he never really cared too much about you. however once you started to spend more time with him and you found yourself at his house quite often, you developed an unexpected sibling bond with him
• he would definitely take advantage of your silence whenever he asks for a favour, immediately roping you into any and all of his problems. (kind of like butters— however he doesn’t screw you over as much)
• the teasing is the worst part. he knows exactly what ticks you off and how to break your silent facade
“HAHAHA YOU SHOULD SEE YOUR FACE!!”
“… 🙂”
• he knows when to stop though
• he unfortunately learnt his lesson after you beat the crap out of him for pushing you way past your limit!! (i just love sibling bonding experiences)
• aside from all of that… cartman is actually really fun to be around when he’s not being an asshole. the two of you usually spend your time together playing video games and doing random shit outside in the snow
• his mom absolutely adores you!!! she would constantly ask cartman if you would be coming over to their place later, always making sure to cook extra for dinner just in case
• cartman definitely gets jealous over his mom pampering you, thinks that she should pay more attention to her real son. and to piss him off even more, his mom always makes sure he shares everything with you
“but myeeeem… those are my cheesy poofs 🤬”
“😈😈”
• cartman’s mom is completely oblivious to any of the sibling rivalry, instead tells cartman he just needs to learn to share
• both of you have a silent agreement to always stick up for each other if either of you are being bullied, (not that cartman really needs help)
• i don’t think cartman would straight up defend you, however he would take your side in more subtle ways
“come on guys, let’s cut y/n some slack… otherwise she’ll get all depressed and probably start crying..”
“😐”
• but if anyone ever hurt you physically or did bully you to the point of actually hurting you, cartman will find out and go on a tangent about how he’s the only person who’s allowed to do that. plus if he’s in a bad mood then he’d probably figure out a way to ruin their life
• anyways.. at the end of most days, you find yourself sleeping on the floor in cartman’s room (he kicks you off his bed) and the two of you stay up late having silly conversations— finding yourselves laughing so hard to the point of tears
• until his mom comes in and tells you to go to bed because it’s a school night 🙄
• the two of you never listen, secretly doing an all nighter then feeling like absolute crap the next day. (it’s just a nightly tradition at this point)
• a lot of kids at school mistake you two for actually being related, which never fails to make you smile
• maybe he isn’t such a bad non biological brother after all

Six Sentence Saturday (or something like that)
Starting on my second bucktommy fic 😌 This was inspired by a post I'm pretty sure @unfuckablebogtroll made a few months ago that I can't find anymore, but the gist is that Tommy buys his house during the 2007/8 financial crash, refinances during covid, and has been saving since then to be able to renovate it himself. In this fic Buck's obviously going to volunteer to help Tommy out ( with his previous construction experience and all) and slowly insinuate himself into Tommy's home without either of them fully realizing it...at first. Buck learns Tommy as he learns more about his house: starting the inside and working outwards. Meanwhile Tommy learns how to let people help him and that Buck's really in it for the long haul ✨
“Hey, can I ask you a question?”
Looking over his shoulder, Tommy raises a brow. He’s elbow-deep in Evan’s kitchen sink, warm, sudsy water tickling his skin as he finishes the last of the dinner dishes. Evan made a chicken parm that had Tommy contemplating the existence of God and carefully planning the head he’d be giving his boyfriend later. As long as Tommy had known him–which was admittedly not very long–Evan has been a shoot first, ask questions later kind of guy. More likely to barrel through any awkwardness than couch his questions in some kind of lead up. “Of course you can, you know that.”
Evan takes the plate Tommy offers him in hand, drying it and setting it aside, his expression just hesitant enough to give Tommy pause.
“Why do we always hang out at my place?”
The question startles a laugh from him. That…wasn’t what Tommy had been expecting. “We don’t, sometimes we go on dates.” Tommy allows his face to settle, faux serious and gently teasing. “Are you claiming I’m not romancing you enough Buckley, because I take that accusation very seriously.”
It gets him the reaction he was hoping for: Evan rolls his eyes like he’s aiming to hit 20 Klicks into the stratosphere and keep climbing. He can hear Evan's common refrain in his head, only coworkers call me Buckley, and I don’t even want to contemplate explaining what we’ve been up to to HR.
“Ha, ha. You know that’s not what I meant. You don’t think it’s a little weird that it’s been two months and I haven’t made it past your garage?”
Tommy’s brain goes straight to the gutter, but Evan’s arms are crossed over his chest in what Tommy has come to learn is a tell-tale sign of him feeling a little insecure.
Tommy tucks away the innocent expression he’d been pulling and sighs, yanking the plug and reaching for the discarded towel to wipe his hands clean. “I mean, it’s a shorter drive for me to come here from Harbour than make you slog it all the way out to mine. I was just trying to make things easier on you.”
Evan holds up his hands like he’s trying to brace both himself and Tommy for his next question. “Okay, let me be more direct. Do you still live with your mom?”
That one shocks, a genuine, full belly laugh from him. The concern on Evan’s face is beginning to grow, and Tommy waves him off.
“No, it’s nothing like that. My place is just…a little unfinished at the moment, is all.”
Evan’s apartment was so put together it had honestly taken Tommy aback the first time he’d gotten a good look at it He didn’t know what he’d been expecting but it hadn’t been anything this nice, clean, or stylish, and the next opportunity he’d had to linger and poke around…with fewer distractions…he had quickly reevaluated the person he’d assumed Evan to be based on first impressions alone.
It had been his first in a long chain of lessons he’d learnt to never underestimate Evan Buckley. It had also made him feel slightly…lacking.
“Okay,” Evan says slowly, he’s using that tone of voice that usually means he already has a succession of twenty questions in the barrel and was just barely holding back from pulling the trigger. “Unfinished, how?”
Tommy scratches at the side of his nose before he can stop himself. A nervous tick. “Well, I bought it with the intention of renovating it myself--my first job was working for a contractor–but I, uh, kept getting a little side tracked.”
Evan shrugs. “That doesn’t sound so bad.”
“You haven’t seen it yet…” Tommy warns.
Evan’s smile slides sideways. “Yeah, and don’t you think it’s a little unfair that Eddie’s seen your place and your boyfriend hasn't?”
He feels silly, but Tommy can’t stop the way his stomach goes hot and squirmy every time Evan says it. Boyfriend–like it’s a pearl cupped lovingly on the bed of his tongue.
It’s Tommy’s turn to roll his eyes. He reaches out, covering Evan’s damp hand with his own and offering him a direct, hot-eyed look. “I’m not trying to impress Eddie.”
His words have their intended effect, Evan grins and ducks his head, cheeks going pleasantly red.
Evan laces their fingers together. “I don’t care how rough it is around the edges, I want to see every part of you,” he says, devastatingly sincere.
Every time Tommy thinks he’s gotten an upper hand on his feelings, Evan throws him for a loop. “Alright, but don’t say I didn’t warn ya.”
Evan’s grin spreads across his face like soft butter on toast. “You got it.”
#bucktommy#mine#anyway the pieces are still coming together but i've been thinking about this potential fic since i first read that post

Snape's gang (following the fem! Severus au)

Sevrina Snape-Prince - Slytherin
-Also known as Ina or Rina by her gang and other close friends, like Lucius and Narcissa. None of them call her Sev or Sevy. They have a silent, unspoken agreement about that.
-A magical prodigy, but doesn't get the recognition she deserves (except for her friends)
-Her skills in Potions are unmatched. Not even Slughorn stands at her level. It's a common saying within her friend group that "Seeing Snape brewing something is more terrifying that seeing her with a wand".
-"Give her a cauldron, ingredients, a quiet space, and she'll conquer the world" - Evan Rosier
-Whenever she hears the teachers claiming that a certain feat is "impossible", she takes it as a challenge (and she mostly succeeds)
-She keeps her hair short for the majority of her time in Hogwarts because it was easier to handle. Also, short hair is harder to grab or pull, a lesson she learnt from the Marauders during her first year.
-Dark humour enthusiast. She crackles at the most fucked up jokes and also shares some of her own. It's also her copying mechanism.
-She has a glow-up in her sixth year, when her friends finally step in and force her to take better care of herself (while also distracting her from her fallout with Lily).
-Until fourth year, she didn't comprehend she also liked boys. The bi awakening hit her hard (you can guess who triggered it)
-She has secretly improved multiple potion recipes for her own benefit and to help her friends, and even invented some of her own. Same goes for spells. She's constantly coming up with new ideas and doesn't stop until they become reality.
-She's the kind of girl that would come up with a cure for Blood Curses when she was in the shower, or create an improved version of the Wolfsbane simply because she was bored.
-She's an overachiever. It started as an effect of the harassment and insecurities she faced, making her eager to prove herself that she was better than everyone else. Now it's more of an extension of her own ambition. She just loves the feeling of achieving something.
-During her first years in Hogwarts, she struggled to afford basic tools, like notebooks and clothes. She relied heavily on Lily and any Slytherin kind enough to lend her anything. This also applies to basic hygiene products, which is why her appareance was so neglected initially.
-The main reason her hair often looks greasy it's because of the amount of time she spends brewing, since the smoke of the cauldrons gets in her hair. She combats it by insistently washing her hair afterwards, but it doesn't always fix the problem.
-She and Aurora are the responsible ones. She voices out her disaproval for the others' antics, but rarely stops them. She can be seen standing close, with faux disinterest and a glint of amusement in her eyes. She only intervenes when they're about to hurt themselves or get caught. If there's a chance of Gryffindors becoming collateral damage, that's when she actively joins the games.
-Snape's angry mom voice is well known by the entirety of House Slytherin and they all know that when she uses it, they must listen and obey. Surprisingly enough, Barty Jr and Regulus Black are often spared from this.
-Addicted to coffee, goes crazy if she's deprived of it for more than a day. Since it's forbidden for students, she acquires it from the muggle world and sets up a secret stash that only the gang knows about. Only shares it with Aurora and Evan, and charges them for it.
-She smokes occasionally, either alone or with Mulciber and Avery.
-A natural Occlumens with a proficiency in Legilimency, courtesy of her Prince heritage.
-Has had multiple jobs in the muggle world to substain herself, including illegal ones. She occasionally sells some of her potions illegally in Knockturn Alley too.
-She never does anything for free. If you want her help, you have to pay up. There's little she's not willing to do for money.
-Eventually settles down for a job in a muggle restaurant during the summer, as a chef. Charity, Aurora and Barty become regulars only to ask for the "chef" to come out everytime to praise her. Snape pretends to be annoyed, but she feels warm at the gesture.

Edmund Avery Jr - Slytherin
-Rarely anyone calls him Edmund. He's known as Avery by everyone, including those who've known him before Hogwarts. The gang calls him Ave, or Ed, but this one is rare.
-He doesn't think highly of his father and it's annoyed that he's named after him, so he prefers to be referred to by his family name.
-He suffers from a Blood Curse, the result of a failed ritual one of his ancestors attempted centuries ago. It appears each generation and it's similar to anhemia. He coughs blood and can't engage in physical activities too much, as it strains his body. That includes flying.
-Childhood best friends with Mulciber. He's the only person Avery trusts before the gang is formed. He rather cut off his hand than admit this, but is very emotionally attached to Mulciber.
-He's a mean bitch 24/7. It doesn't matter if you're pureblood or not, he'll insult you and make fun of you simply because he can. He's known for making people cry with few words.
-Calls Snape and Charity "mudblood" on the daily. They're used to it already, but he can't get enough of the horror and anger in other people's faces when they hear him.
-If anyone else calls them that, he laughs at it, but secretly curses that person later. They might be mudbloods, but they are his mudbloods.
-He believes in blood purity, but in a cynical way. While he thinks that pureblood wizards are naturally superior and deserve to have privileges in the wizarding world, he has nothing against half-bloods and muggleborns. To him, it's just the way things are, and there's no reason to hate on people simply for being inferior.
-Which is way he frowns upon those who go out of their way to harass non-purebloods. To him, it's a stupid reason to go after someone and a waste of time.
-He mocks people and hexes them for his own entertainment or for revenge.
-"I only make decisions out of spite or greed"
-His parents have always referred to non-pureblood wizards as "mudbloods", so he's grown to normalize that word. He doesn't see it as a slur, just a regular term for those with muggle blood, and doesn't understand the heavy meaning it carries for those who fall into that category.
-He and Charity have a complex relationship. You can't tell if they really hate each other or if all those insults and death threats are just their love language. If they're not being snarky with each other, they're either talking shit about others together or enjoying Charity's secret stash of weed.
-Smoke buddies with Mulciber and Snape. It only makes his breathing problems worse, but does he care? Absolutely not. And it's not like he would admit his weakness anyway.
-Deeply resentful of his condition and hates being deprived of so many things, so he takes it out on the world and everyone around him. That's the main reason of his assholery.
-Aside from his sickness, his magic presented later than normal, so his parents began to assume he was a squib. They grew cold with him and conceived another son to replace him, a healthy and strong boy whose magic manifested soon enough. They doted on him while Avery watched from the sidelines, slowly being removed from the family's picture.
-All changed when his little brother fell from his broom one day and entered a coma. Their parents tried everything to save him and, in the meantime, Avery's magic awakened and his health improved a little. His brother ended up dying anyway and his parents began to pay more attention to Avery, but he ignored them or brushed off their words.
-It's rumoured that he caused his brother's death to absorb his magic and ensure he was the only heir to the Avery fortune. He has never acknowledged this rumour.
-Hates bright colours, which is another reason he clashes with Charity.
-Dark humour enthusiast #2. He's usually the one telling the jokes while Snape laughs at them.
-Secretly craves the same level of comfortability with skinship and affection as some of his friends, but can't bring himself to join them. Doesn't know how to, so he convinces himself he's above that.
-Raging homosexual. He struggled to accept it at first, not because homophobia, but because he couldn't stand being attracted to anybody.
-Needs a can to walk most of the time. However, he's ready to withstand the pain to run away from consequences or to spite people.
-He and Wilkers are more than friends. They haven't labelled it yet but their friends know and are waiting for the shoe to drop.

Bruce Mulciber - Slytherin
-Also known as Mulci by his friends. Pretty much like Avery, very few people call him by his first name.
-He was named after his uncle, one of Voldemort's first followers, who ended up in Azkaban for his crimes in the First War and lost his sanity. He grew up hearing stories about him, about his "bravery" in fighting for the Dark Lord and the "cleansing" of the wizarding society. As he becomes older, he becomes terrified of ending up like his uncle.
-He feels that naming kids after dead relatives is like placing a curse upon them, as well as an unnecessary heavy weight on their backs
-He and Aurora are distant relatives, both of them being related to the Zabini family. They've known each other before Hogwarts.
-He and Avery have known each other since they were on diapers and they've been glued to the hip since then. He's the one who "translates" Avery when he's being a rude bitch, by just repeating what he said with easier words.
-Group clown #1 and a prankster. When he's not giving the marauders a run of their money with Avery, he's joking around with his friends. Rarely takes anything seriously.
-The tallest of the group, a trait that he makes use of a lot. He also looks older than he really is.
-He has an older sister, who's openly favoured by their parents despite not being the designated heir. She and Mulciber have a cold relationship.
-He uses humour to deflect personal questions and hide how he really feels.
-"If I can laugh about it, then it doesn't hurt"
-Has a dark sense of humour, but it's not really sadistic. He doesn't see the point of inflicting serious pain without a reason.
-He doesn't trust muggleborns, simply because they haven't been raised with the same culture and so he believes they would disrupt the magical society. However, he thinks, if they assimilated the wizarding traditions and left behind the muggle world, he could accept them.
-He feels contempt towards muggles and refuses to interact with them personally. His family has had bad experiences with them in the past and he sees them as destructing creatures that ruin things because of their greed.
-Like Avery, he won't go out of his way to hurt non-purebloods without provocation. He doesn't see the appeal.
-Sees Dorcas more as a sister than his biological one.
-Plays on the Quidditch team as a Beater. He doesn't have the best aim, but makes up for it with his strenght and fluid movements.
-He tends to forget Snape is actually a girl, so he treats her the same as any other dude he's close to and sees nothing wrong in her hanging out with them in "boys activities".
-His friends tend to steal his clothes for themselves because they're so big and warm. He doesn't bat an eye anymore.
-He's a subpar student and struggles a lot, so he gets Snape and Aurora to tutor him.
-It's really attached to Avery and can't imagine a life without him. He doesn't say it, but he's perpetually worried that the blood curse might take him away one day.
-Due to spending a lifetime together, he can sense when Avery is about to have a seizure and knows all the procedures to assist him when this happens.
-Has been weirdly fixated on Mary McDonald since fourth year, much to his embarrasment and his friends' amusement. Because of her muggleborn status, he doesn't dare to approach her but he can't ignore her either.
-In the privacy of the dorms, he's a bit more calm and serious than people think.

Dorcas Meadowes - Slytherin
-Dorky or Dork for her friends. Anyone else that calls her those will get hexed until they cry.
-Plays as a Beater along with Mulciber. Her bludgers always leave marks and she makes it so the pain lasts for a couple of days.
-A mean lesbian
-The only living heir to the Meadowes family, so whoever marries her would have to acquire her surname instead
-She and Marlene McKinnon have a complicated past, and it has led to a tense relationship in the present that not even they can grasp. Both groups of friends try to avoid these encounters.
-Childhood friends with Mulciber and Avery, which means she has also witnessed Avery's seizures as they grew and knows how to handle them.
-Her friendship with Mulciber and Avery is no longer what it used to be, but they still care deeply about each other.
-She doesn't agree with the blood supremacism and bigotry. One of the reasons she distanced herself a bit from her childhood friends.
-Has a lot of friends from other Houses, specially in Hufflepuff.
-She was bethrothed in her second year with a fellow Slytherin classmate. They get along fine but they're not friends. Acknowledging his existence can be uncomfortable for her at times.
-She and Snape hooked up at some on their fifth year, after Slytherin won a match against Gryffindor. Prior that, there had been some intense sexual tension between them for weeks.
-Only the gang knows about this, thought. One of their many little secrets.
-She can be impulsive and reckless, getting into fights for what she believes or simply to defend her pride. There's no between.
-If she thinks she's right, she'll make sure her point gets across and the other person feels stupid for talking back.
-She gets off men's tears
-Fascinated with muggle inventions and eager to know more. She bombards Snape and Burbage with questions at any chance.
-Mostly an average student, but shines in Defense Against the Dark Arts. She's terrible at Transfiguration, though.
-You wouldn't guess she's from a noble upbringing. She's a troublemaker, with a rash attitude, wearing her uniform in a messy manner and curses like a sailor.
-But if the situation calls for it, she knows how to pull off the etiquette and act like a perfect aristocrat lady
-"My mother didn't raise a fool. A psychopath, maybe, but not a fool"
-She's overprotective of her friends and more than willing to beat someone into a pulp for them.
-She's a bit of a tsundere. She bullies her gang constantly and acts like she doesn't care, but the minute they're in minimum danger she's freaking out and ready for war.
-She's open about her sexuality and has never felt asshamed because of it. She only feels frustrated because she knows she wouldn't be able to follow her heart after she graduates.
-She almost ended in Gryffindor, but the hat ultimately decided she was too ambitious and cunning for it.
-Hates Voldemort and the Death Eaters, seeing it as most of her family and friends are being sucked into that cult, while she can only watch. She leaves when someone in the common room brings up the topic, or else big ass fights ensues.
-She's only few inches shorter than Mulciber. She loves the feeling of towering above people and make them nervous.

Evan Rosier - Slytherin
-Only the gang calls him Evan. Snape calls him Eve sometimes.
-Plays as a Chaser in the Quidditch team and it's also the vice-captain. He's considered the best Slytherin has had in years and has beaten records in his broom.
-He's grown up in the centre of a tough succession crisis, where he suffered multiple attempts on his life from his own relatives, and so it forced him into a permanent state of paranoia because he couldn't trust anyone or anything in his family.
-His cousin Pandora was the exception, since they were engaged at that time and so she couldn't benefit from his death, but they didn't talk much until Hogwarts.
-The engagement was called off by their own accord, since they grew to love each other as siblings, which made the idea of marriage disgusting to them. Althought, it's rumoured they had other reasons to do it. More personal reasons.
-When he arrived at Hogwarts, he was a fucked up kid in expensive robes and became known for lashing out at the slighest provocation.
-He was unpredictable and dangerous, like a tickling bomb, and so people stayed away from him, even his fellow Slytherin.
-He met Snape on first year when she sat next to him during some class. He was used to people being too afraid of him to aproach, so he was shocked that someone finally got the never. And a half-blood, no less.
-"I've been treated like a monster for so long that I forgot what it feels like to be looked at as a person"
-He and Snape clicked right away, and he was the first to accept her as a fellow Slytherin despite her blood status.
-He shares the room with Mulciber, Avery and Wilkes. It was a hellish experience at first, due to Evan's paranoia, until they were finally friends.
-He has improved a lot on his trauma, but there are still situations that trigger his extreme survival instincts, like someone touching him from behind.
-For obvious reasons, he's a light sleeper, and keeps his wand under his pillow.
-He also checks everything before eating it, changes the bedsheets himself and basically refuses to let anyone do stuff for him, in case it's manipulated.
-Because of this, he's an hyper-independent person and knows a lot of skills most rich pureblood kids don't, like cooking and cleaning.
-If he even eats or drinks something you made, it means he'll trust you with his life.
-Very protective of Pandora and sensitive to any comments that sound remotely offending towards her. He has sent people to the infirmary in her defense.
-Asking for help it's like saying "i love you" for him. He's admitting vulnerability to someone.
-He's incredibly good in Defense Against the Dark Arts. Again, for obvious reasons.
-His favourite subject is Potions, mostly because he loves watching Snape shine in the class.
-Has been invited to the Slughorn Club, but refuses to accept unless Snape goes too.
-Doesn't really buy into the blood supremacy rethoric, but believes the muggle and wizard world should remain separated and never interact with one another.
-His family trauma has left a permanent mark on him, in the form of sadistic tendencies, insomnia, and a very high pain tolerance.
-Beneath his calm and smooth demeanor, he's still that feral child willing to torn anyone into pieces if he deems it necessary and fantasizes about bathing in his enemies' blood.
-Another dark humour lover, but like, very fucked up. There are times only Avery laughs while the others look at them concerned.
-He's cousins with Bellatrix, Andromeda and Narcissa through his father's side, so he's grown close to House Black.
-Snape and Pandora are the only people who can calm him down when he's mad. He'll only listen to them.

Wilhelm Wilkes - Slytherin
-He prefers to be called just "Will" by his friends. Wilkes is for everyone else.
-They also call him WilWil to mess with him. He shakes his head when they do, but he's instantly smiling.
-Formerly a Durmstang student, until he transferred to Hogwarts in third year, for unknown reasons.
-German father and British mother, so he's fluent in both languages.
-The hat considered putting him in Hufflepuff, but it eventually decided he was better off in Slytherin.
-A cinnamon roll that could and would kill you
-People have a hard time linking him to Slytherin because he's so sweet and kind with everyone all the time. He stays out of trouble and the teachers like him. Younger students look up to him.
-Classy gay that gets along better with girls than with boys, and cares a lot about his appareance.
-Big and bulky, gives the best hugs and makes you feel protected.
-Quidditch team captain and Keeper.
-He and Pandora were bethrothed in third year to unite both families. He wasn't thrilled with the idea, but he prefers Pandora over some stranger. They also have some secret agreement regarding the union.
-He has psychopathic tendencies, but hides them well.
-Sunshine boy. Even Gryffindors are somewhat friendly with him.
-He trips a lot and clashes with things.
-The clumsiness dissapears when he's duelling, though.
-Always in a good mood, greeting everybody when he arrives to class with a huge smile. It's rare to see him serious or angry.
-"Don't mistake my kindness with naïvety. My reluctance to violence doesn't mean I'm uncapable of it"
-The only person that enters History of Magic with a smile and actually asks questions to the teacher. His housemates see this as another proof of his madness.
-He's not as innocent as he looks. He's a Slytherin for a reason.
-The only time his clumsiness dissapears is when he's duelling.
-Secretly, his favourite subject is Herbology. It gives him joy to care for plants and helps him relax.
-Naturally good with children and animals, so the younger slytherins often go to him for help or comfort.
-He and Avery are golden retriever/black cat coded.
-Excuses Avery to people when he offends them and drags him out of the conflicts.
-He often agrees with the boy's mean comments and chuckles with him, but doesn't let it show because of his good boy reputation.
-He sneaks into the girls' dorms a lot to spend time with them and even sleeps there sometimes.
-Due to his good grades and reliable nature, he was chosen to be Prefect.
-Extensive knowledge in Dark Arts, courtesy of Durmstang.
-He rarely gets angry, but when he does, it's absolutely terrifying.
-People have a hard time denying him anything because of his face. His puppy eyes are deadly effective.
-He and Pandora get along great despite their arrangement. He's very fond of her and viceversa, and they both agreed to try make the best out of the situation when it comes to it.
-He's very physically affectionate. Cheek kisses, forehead kisses, hugs, cuddles, cute nicknames. Everything. It's hard to discern when it's platonic or romantic.
-He has a lot of admirers.
-Actually indifferent to violence, unless the victims of it are people he cares about. If he saw a random corpse, he would simply shrug it off and go call someone to check it, or examine it himself out of curiosity.
-He and Avery have an on-and-off relationship, but they always remain fiercely loyal to each other. It's an emotional mess no one else is allowed to meddle with. Unless they want to suffer.

Pandora Rosier - Slytherin
-Mostly known as Dora by her loved ones. She's not as attached to the Rosier name as Evan is.
-She was raised separatedly from the crisis succession mess, in a different house from his relatives. She only saw them all in family dinners, where fights were strictly forbidden.
-The reason for this was that she was born with a rare gift, an extension of Legilimency that allows her to see people's emotions and their thoughts without even trying. This made her very valuable for her family, as they all coveted such gift.
-Which is why she was engaged to Evan. They wanted to ensure the gift remained in the family, away from others.
-Until she learnt how to shut it out, she was constantly hearing everyone's minds at once in her own head and sensing their emotions as if they were her own, overwhelming her to the point of anxiety and several bursts of accidental magic.
-She can also project her own thoughts unto others and show them what she's thinking.
-She knows everything before anyone else does. She's always one step ahead in most situations. Like nothing ever surprises her. She keeps what she knows mostly to herself.
-There are rumours she might be a Seer too, but only a fool would believe that, right?
-She's very introverted and wary of people. Her overprotective upbringing thwarted her social skills, along with her gift.
-Most people who have approached her hadn't done it with genuine intentions, so it fed her general distrust towards others.
-She and Evan didn't have a close relationship until Hogwarts, despite being engaged. They broke off the contract on their first year, despite their family's protests.
-Snape is the first person she hasn't been able to read instantly, which sparkled her curiosity and fascination towards the girl.
-When she found out Snape was a natural Occlumens with a spark of Legilimency, she was delighted at finally meeting someone similar to her in that way.
-But mostly, she was happy to meet someone she could actually get to know like a normal person instead of already seeing everything about them from the first moment.
-This new found obstacle in her gift frustrated her, because she relied on it heavily to navigate the world around her, and also thrilled her, because it was something new for once. A change.
-As they grew closer and began to trust each other, Pandora was able to see more and more of Snape, but only as far as the girl allowed.
-She and Snape talk to each other a lot through their Legilimency. It's common to see one of them chuckling or frowning out of nowhere and throw a knowing look at the other, with no words exchanged.
-Due to her struggles with verbal communication and getting people to understand her, she usually shows her thoughts to Snape or Evan first and then they help her put them into words.
-(She has Helaena Targaryen vibes. If you know her, that's pretty much Pandora's character)
-She's very eccentricy and chaotic, which only fuels people's waryness of her. The only reason she's not downright bullied is because of her family (and Evan).
-Careful, though, she's far from naïve. She's every inch of cunning as any other Slytherin and doesn't forget a slight against her or her loved ones.
-"The thing about always seeing people for what they are it's the never ending amazement of how utterly fake people can be"
-After breaking off the engagement with Evan, her parents hurriedly tried to set her up with another pureblood, pressuring her to accept a good match soon. Out of all the candidates, Wilkes was the only one she remotely liked.
-Her favourite subjects are Astronomy and Divination.

Charity Burbage - Hufflepuff
-Also known as Cherry. Don't you dare call her that if you're not her friend. She'll take it as an insult.
-She comes from a traditional British rich family. Very strict but loving.
-Muggleborn. Doesn't give a shit about being called "mudblood" and would answer to it with a smile just to be petty.
-She's the third of four sisters.
-Her father runs a line of restaurants, one of which is the where Snape works in the summers. After finding out the odd jobs her friend was taking to survive, Charity inmediately got her the job.
-The fact that it gives them the perfect excuse to meet more often during holidays and Charity can boss her around is pure coincidence.
-Looks like a cinnamon roll but could actually kill you #2
-The type to insult someone to their face with such grace that they don't process they're getting insulted until a while passes.
-Gossip queen. She knows everything about everyone, and it has nothing to do with a mysterious gift. She's just nosy and sneaky like that.
-A typical spoiled rich girl with a rebellious vein. A mean girl with an angel-like facade. She's a demon dressed in pastel colours.
-When she's really pissed at someone, all etiquette and grace goes out of the window and unleashes a torrent of curses that shocks even Snape, who's by far the most foul mouthed out of the group.
-"I'm an awful person. But I'm also rich and pretty, so it doesn't really matter"
-Fighting to get Hogwarts their own cheerleader team for the Quidditch matches because c'mon, can't they see how perfect it'll be?
-Also, she would have an excuse to design the uniforms and be the captain, because of course she would be.
-Bisexual. She's dated a lot of people before falling in love with Aurora.
-Charity had no chill and made her interest in Aurora publicidly known when asking her out. But she didn't harass her like J*mes Potter with Lily, until Aurora finally paid attention to her. Instead, she waited patiently as she wooed her and knew when to stop.
-She has a passion for gardening. Her room is fully decorated with different plants and flowers she religiously cares for. Because of this, she possesses an uncanny talent for Herbology, rivalling Professor Sprout herself.
-She's specially proud of the stack of weed she's been cultivating for years behind the teachers' back and that she only takes out for inter-house parties.
-She takes advantage that her common room is right next to the kitchen to sneak in for snacks whenever she wants to or to meet up with Snape when the girl is having insomnia again.
-Because of this, she has befriended some of the elves and knows their names.
-Cares a lot about her appareance and always makes sure to look her best in any situation, including emergencies. The type to take her time to escape during a fire because she doesn't want to be seen on her pyjamas.
-She's the one that gets Snape out of her shell. Convinces her to go out to Hogsmeade with Aurora and herself, drags her out of the library to take breaks, helps her with her social skills and overall just reassures Snape that she also deserves some happiness.
-Very clingy. Skinship comes of as necessary for her as breathing, so she's seen wrapped around people like a koala and cuddling with her friends. It makes her feel loved and safe.
-Knows more about people than she lets on. She has enough shit to blackmail them and even ruin someone's life.
-When she gets really angry, she becomes considerably quiet and uses few words. That's a sign she's plotting your ultimate demise.
-She and Avery have a confusing dynamic. They hate each other most of the time, either arguing or throwing insults whenever they're in close proximity, but they are times where they're civil towards each other in an almost friendly manner. They've been caught getting high together with no one else around, and judging people together as they sit side by side, all like it's an everyday activity for them.
-She enjoys when her friends rant to her about their passions, even if she doesn't always understand theml. She just loves seeing them so open and expressive with her, and she encourages those feelings.
-She aspires to become prefect only to share her duties with Aurora and spend more time with her, but her grades aren't high enough yet. She's constantly bitching about the female prefect because of this.
-She's very, very petty. Doesn't ever forget a slight and goes great lenghts to return the favour.
-Loves pastel colours and country music. You know she's been in the Slytherin common room recently by the colorful pamphlets and flowers she leaves behind to "light up the place" (although she does it mostly to piss off Avery).
-She does ballet since she was little. She practices whenever she has free time and performs in muggle shows. Gets the best seats for the gang, and not even Avery dares to miss a show.
-Because of this, she's very flexible, and combined with her short height, she can fit basically everywhere.
-She convinces the gang to go through a complete self-care routine with her. Face masks, snacks and everything. No one can ever say no.

Aurora Sinistra - Ravenclaw
-Also called Rory by her friends. Charity lovingly calls her Roro sometimes.
-The voice of reason, constantly reminding them what the rules are and warning them when a certain idea is definitely going to get them in trouble. She never tries to stop them tho.
-She's usually the responsible one, but enjoys breaking the rules from time to time too. She blames her friends for being such a bad influence.
-One of the best students at Hogwarts. Straight A and a perfectly clean record. Gets along with the teachers. No one would ever suspect she's done anything wrong in her life.
-She does. Quite often in fact. She's just really good at hiding it.
-The Sorting hat considered putting her in Slytherin, but her thirst for knowledge eventually placed her in Ravenclaw.
-She excells at Astronomy and Ancient Runes, two of the hardest subjects in school. Hence why she's considered a brilliant student.
-Her long-term dream is to become a teacher at Hogwarts, specifically the Astronomy teacher. The short-term dream is to win Ravenclaw the House cup.
-She was selected as a prefect by both the teachers and her classmates.
-Lesbian. She kept a low profile about it until she fell in love with Charity.
-They met in a study group, on their third year. They clicked instantly, despite their differences, and became close friends quickly. They found every chance to meet up and spend time together.
-When she realized she had a crush on Charity, she panicked for a moment because she was afraid of ruining their friendship, and she wasn't ready to come face to face with her sexuality yet.
-Until Charity confessed her own feelings too and decided to make her courting with Aurora as publicidly as she could.
-Seeing Charity being so open about her love and her own identity gave her the confidence to embrace herself too, and so that's how they began.
-Her mother was born in the Zabini family, just like Mulciber's mother. She's particularly close to Belladonna Zabini (Blaise Zabini's mother), who sees herself as a mentor figure for Aurora while they're at Hogwarts and a big sister for Mulciber.
-It was Belladonna who introduced her to the intricate art of poisons and ancient runes. Aurora goes to her whenever she needs a certain substance for her own plans.
-Comes from a very rich, privileged background, but she was still taught the importance of hard-work and sacrifices. She knows that, in order to achieve her goals, she needs to earn them first.
-Charity introduced her to muggle shows and now she's obsessed with them. She's working a way to bring electronic devises to Hogwarts purely to have a TV where she can watch them.
-She befriended Snape when Charity brought her to one of their study group sessions. Instead of being put off by the girl's snarky nature, she found her entertaining and a worthy intellectual rival.
"Attempted murder. Can you imagine how would that look in my reference letter? Everyone would know that I failed at the task"
-She already met Snape in their second year, when they were paired together for a Potions project. Aurora has always known of Snape's intelligence and respected her for it. The only reason she didn't reach out earlier was the girl's obvious retinance to anyone that wasn't Lily Evans or a fellow Slytherin.
-She never starts a fight, but she knows damn well how to finish one.
-When she wants to get back at someone, she doesn't do it right away. She waits it out, letting the person think it has been forgotten, and when they moved on, she surprises them with a carefully planned out revenge that they wouldn't recover from in a while.
-She and Snape sneak into the Restricted section of the library together whenever they can. They haven't been caught yet.
-She also loves research and developing new runes or spells. As long as she's gaining knowledge, she doesn't care if it's morally correct.
-If you want to do something forbidden or morally wrong, she's the person to go. She won't stain her hands for you, but she'll tell you step by step how to do it.
-She and Mulciber met through Belladona, but became closer when they both joined the gang.

Bartemius "Barty" Crouch Jr - Slytherin
-Or if Daddy Issues was a person.
-His father has always been an absent but extremely demanding figure in his life and his mother tries her best to make up for it. It's not enough.
-He's completely, one hundred-percent devoted to be the best at everything so he can impress his father and win his approval. It's the thing he craves the most.
-He met Regulus on the train and talked his ears off the whole ride. They've been inseparable since then.
-He arrived at Hogwarts touch-starved and insecure, so when second year Snape showed him some kindness without second intentions, he glued himself to her and the gang like a lost puppy.
-If he decides to befriend you, he's going to do so. You cannot escape. He got all his friendships by annoying the shit out of them until they relented.
-"Bad attention is better than no attention at all"
-As a result of his lonely upbringing, he's actually very socially awkward and doesn't understand most social cues. He genuinely thinks that friendships are made when someone picks a person and "brands them" as their friend.
-ADHD. Since these disorders aren't widely known in the magical world, everyone just assumed that Barty was lazy sometimes and purposely loud. His parents considered him another case of a difficult child and tried to suppress that kind of behaviour by strict means.
-Despite this, he's managed to be a brilliant student and never get anything beneath an Outstanding in all subjects.
-He has hexed himself a few times to force his brain to concentrate at the task, but he only hurts himself and worsens everything.
-His friends helped him come up with methods that allowed him to concentrate in a way his brain could handle. He feels less stressed and anxious thanks to it, but he still puts a lot of pressure over himself.
-He and Snape bonded over their terrible fathers. Barty tries to defend his, while Snape straight out calls both men out on their shit.
-Has hyperfixations and struggles to keep his mind on just one thing at a time. Physically uncapable of staying put in one place for long. He needs to be moving and doing things.
-It's a vital rule in the gang to never let him taste coffee.
-He knows a lot of silly facts about all kind of topics he gets fixated on and he'll rant about them for hours to whoever is willing to listen. Usually Regulus.
-He was expected to end up in Ravenclaw, just like his parents and most members of his family. Him getting sorted in Slytherin was received with dissapointment in his house, particularly his father.
-He's been physically punished when he displeases his father or his performance isn't good enough to his standards.
-Loves quidditch and really wants to join the Slytherin team, but his father doesn't approve because "i'll distract him from his duties", so he simply goes to every match he can to watch.
-(He's canonically the only character to have taken 12 OWLs. Not to mention he managed to fool Dumbledore himself when he was posing as Alastor Moody and also manipulated the entire Triwizard Tournament so Harry could win, and no one suspected a thing. Boy is a fucking genius)
-Speaking of which, he and Snape are friendly academic rivals, like Aurora. They're constantly trying to outdo the other in class and get the most points.
-He and Regulus look up to Snape a lot and see her as an older sibling figure. In Barty's case, almost a maternal figure.
-The one thing he wants most in the world is validation. He spends every breathing moment in his life seeking it and drinking the smallest drops he gets of it. Seriously, anyone that shows him some sort of approval, will instantly win him over.
-His aspires to follow his father's footsteps and become a Minister, most likely to take his place after he retires.
-Takes his studies very seriously and gets mad when people distract him from his homework or studying sessions.
-Gay. Homosexual. Gay.
-His worst fear is dissapointing people.
-Panic attacks are to be expected during exams week and when doing homework. Or when his father mails him after the seeing the results. Or right before he returns to his house.
-He's been conditioned to turn away from any source of entertainment or superficial interests because "he can't afford getting distracted". Now he'll gladly join his friends in any fun activity they propose and plan them (as long as his father doesn't hear about it)
-Indifferent to the pureblood supremacy rethoric, although a bit prejudiced due to his father's teachings. He doesn't care if someone is a muggleborn or half-blood, but can be condescending towards them without realizing.
-A lot of repressed anger that's bound to explode.

Regulus Arcturus Black -Slytherin
-Reg or Reggie for his loved ones. No one outside them is allowed to call him that. Unless they don't mind getting hexed.
-Was kind of a little shit when he arrived to Hogwarts. Snobby, arrogant, and prejudiced, pretty much like Draco. He slowly improves with the gang's influence, but not too much.
-The Seeker in the Quidditch team. He's good at it, but not exceptional.
-Contrary to popular belief, the Blacks aren't really royalty among purebloods, but they consider themselves as such. Regulus is no different.
-He's grown up spoiled and without ever having to lift a finger for anything. The type of rich guy that thinks dirtying his hands for something is below him, so convinces other people to do it for him.
-He used to be close with Sirius growing up, since they spent all their time together and they were still too innocent about the world they lived in. The relationship grew strained when Regulus started to envy Sirius' position and the latter began to reject the family's beliefs.
-By the time Regulus arrived to Hogwarts, they were more like acquaintances than anything. Sirius had his friends already, all of them so utterly different from the people Regulus was supposed to mingle with, and that was it.
-Deep down, he feels sad for having lost the contact with his brother, but comforts himself that "Sirius made his choice".
-One of the reasons he stood up with his parents against Sirius during the disagreements, besides the fact he genuinely agreed with them on their beliefs, was because he didn't want them to get mad at him too. He never understood why Sirius just couldn't play along and make thing easier for everybody.
-His relationship with his mother is loving but complicated. He cares deeply for her and values her opinion a lot, but he feels her love for him is transactional. It'll exist for as long as he remains a good son in her eyes, and if he dissapoints her, she'll turn her back on him.
-Because the concept of hard work hasn't been drilled into him and he's used to get what he wants easily, he's not really a great student. He manages well enough so his parents don't get mad at him.
-He looked down on Snape at first, since she's a half-blood and so he believed her sole presence tainted Slytherin's prestige. Seeing how talented she was, surpassing him and many other purebloods, made him dislike her even more, because she defied everything he was raised to believe and defend ("purebloods are naturally superior and blah blah")
-He began to look at her differently when he saw Narcissa took the girl under her wing and openly doted on her. If his cousin deemed the half-blood worth of her attention, he trusted her judgement.
-Slowly, he grew to begrudgingly respect Snape and trust her. He still has prejudices and struggles to see her as an equal, but they're getting there.
-Deep down, he cares a lot about Snape and thinks of her as family. Although he much rather face a Crucio than admit this.
-While his views regarding half-bloods and muggleborns aren't quite the same as they were in his first year, he still believes firmly in pureblood supremacy and sees the non-pureblood wixen as second class citizens.
-Thinks that there should be separated schools for pureblood and those who aren't. This way, it'll all follow the "natural order".
-He avoids talking to Sirius, but when they cross paths, they usually throw snarky comments to the other.
-He plays a big role in helping Barty out of his shell and pushes him to have fun. In return, Barty motivates him to work harder.
-He and Barty are glued to the hip. You'll rarely see one without the other.
-Physically, he takes a lot after his mother.
-Always dressed in the finest clothes and using the most expensive tools. Appareances are a must for him.
-He and Wilkes are the only ones that genuinely enjoy doing Charity's self-care routines. Might be the only muggle thing he doesn't disapprove of.
-Doesn't know how to swim, but can keep himself afloat. He refuses to learn because "a man of his status doesn't need to learn such skills".
-Quite an egocentric, due to his upbringing.
-Secretly, he likes being coddled, but it's too embarrassed and proud to let it happen.
-He claims to find pranks childish and unbecoming of a pureblood heir, but he actually loves them. He'll cough and turn his head away to hide his reactions.
-Very close to the Black sisters, specially Narcissa. Refuses to admit it, but felt heartbroken when Andromeda left.
-He likes the Rosier cousins too, with Pandora being one of his best friends.
-He used to dream about becoming heir and prove he was better than Sirius, but when it finally happened, he realized such title came with new responsabilities and expectations he never had to face before, and he's not sure he can keep up with it.
-He can be very possessive with people and has a hard time "sharing" them.

ALEJANDRO BURROMUERTO CASUAL HC'S.
• he tans weekly on the family's tanning machine (in a speedo, yes). twice a week on winter since he gets paler on cold.
• he always smells like cologne. even sweating, he stills smells very dense. he's always re-applying deodorant/perfume.
• used to shave his whole body with laser at the spa. after the volcano incident, he didn't grow body hair for a long time, so when It grew back he just let himself become hairy (only bodily).
• had a lot of hiperfixations growing up. he didn't quite have any friends so he used most of his time obsessed on a certain activity until he reached perfection, then dropped it to hop on another.
• he prefers reptiles over dogs or cats. but he likes dogs tho, he claims they are loyal and follow blindly.
• José lost one of his pets, never had any other due fear, yet he dreams of having a snake.
• he is a terrible joker. he can do a lot of things but joking is not one of them. he only remembers some jokes of his dad's comedy book he readed back on his childhood.
• he's a great cooker. he always made his mom company when she cooked dinner, he learnt from her.
• he has a guilty pleasure on writting, mainly poetry, and he's great at it. he actually takes It seriously and treat other themes beyond romance or clichés, perhaps even has a diary of his writings.
• he doesnt like movies because he claims he "doesnt have time for them" (canon on his tdwt blog introduction) but this actually raised among his dad telling him that, claiming he should use his time for better like studying or getting better at something. plus, everytime he wanted to see one, José would push him from the TV and take It for himself.
• he actually rarely has genuine fun. the only fun he gets is usually from his recreational activities, and even so, he concentrates more on being perfect on them rather than enjoy. and he does a lot, maybe to avoid being alone with his thoughts for too long before they overwhelm him.
• has photographic memory, and it's very good at remembering faces and places.
• he did just judge his babysitters until tears only to get some attention from his parents. he didn't want to be taken care of, he wanted to prove he's able to take care of himself, like José who didn't need one. he also just wanted to be looked at by them, to spend time with his parents instead of old ladies and annoying teens.
• they speak full spanish at home, he took english lessons since his first years, but didn't really used it until he moved to Canada.
• due his dad being a diplomat, he lived his first years on Spain before finding himself moving from country to country. Like Peru, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Japan, and many more until Canada. His dad worked at the embajadas of Spain in many countrys doing comercy deals between countrys and etc, he had to stay for long times in such countrys and his kids and wife following along wherever the head of the family went. Alejandro had a hard time doing friends on his new schools, eventually all the changes and the mindset he grew leaded him to be who he is, remaining friends is still a hard duty for him. He learnt that everyone leaves and due that he could at least get what he wants from them and It wouldn't be that wrong, he always dissappear from peoples lives and it's something he can't control. I wanted to open this with the joke "long time listener, first time caller" but I'm still yet to complete your collection of fics (which I will do, mark my words), but I cannot resist the opportunity to pick your brains about writing. With that, 11 & 15 for Hymnal and 3 & 4 for Christmas in the room. Plus, if I may be so bold, I'm curious about your process - how to you go about planning? Do you tend to write several drafts or is it more a situation of "getting in the zone" and writing in one sitting?
Hehehehehe thank you for the ask, Vine!! Pick away.
11 for Hymnal: What do you like best about this fic?
The description! The poetry! I'm feeling this very keenly right now as I'm writing a contemporary AU without much description, but Hymnal really let me stretch out my native writing wings, i.e. just blocks and blocks of adjectives. If I could, all of my fics would just be thousands of words describing everyone's outfits all the time. And the poetry is still some of the only poetry I've ever written which I still like! So there's that. :D
15 for Hymnal: What did you learn from writing this fic?
Oh, God. Pacing! I really learnt the value of slowing things down. Not quite in time to finish Hymnal, mind; I still think it doesn't read as smoothly as it could and jerks along in places. But hopefully I'm applying the lessons I've learnt about placing in current projects. Hymnal also taught me to be less shy about experimenting with form: the epistolary, yes, but also that one scene written entirely in dialogue. It was so intensely fun and fitting for the mood that I've been going back to it ever since, and other current WIPs (the Secret Life of Walter Mitty AU!) are skipping around from prose to epistolary to playscript. 3 for christmas in the room: What's your favourite line of narration?
Hm. Probably this from the first one:
In any case the light was warm and a little dim and usually it softened the features of whoever walked in, made them friendlier and more beautiful, but clearly something had gone wrong with it this time because Charlie flinched and dropped the peas as soon as he walked in. The trouble with his face was that everything was writ large upon it. The shock and the horror and quickly settling in the confusion, easy to read like a children’s book, A is for Apple is for Anger is for Aw, hell, there goes a jacket I’m never getting back again…
It just reads nicely! My goal for writing is always to have something that sounds good read aloud.
4 for christmas in the room: What's your favourite line of dialogue?
This was HARD, because my goal for the dialogue in this fic was to make it all innocuous and kind of inordinary. Nevertheless I think it's probably:
“Oh, it was nobody,” said Neil, looking up. He smiled, a quick roguish flashing smile which did not for a single second assure Todd of its authenticity. “Nobody. Nothing. Mom’s in the hospital. Like I said – ”
“Neil,” he said, and within two seconds was at his side.
Neil dropped his face into his hands and ground out, “Like I said, nothing.”
Again, this is about the rhythm of it - I just think it reads well.
RE: your final question, I actually almost never write a second draft! The fic you see on the webpage is almost always the exact same fic which I first set to virtual paper in Google Docs, with the exception of some spelling corrections/rephrasing of a sentence/replacing repeated words/etc. I don't really tend to make other drafts. (Actually, the Martian AU is really weird in this respect because I'm working from a second draft now, the first one being.... how do you say...... dogshit.) But "getting in the zone" isn't really what happens either, since I find that hard to make happen. Unfortunately, it's very prosaic and businesslike and not at all Romantic, capital R: I carve out some time, sit down at my laptop, make myself type out a couple of sentences and then wait for the moment when my fingers start flying. And then it's just a matter of seeing where the story wants to go 😅. Most of the planning happens beforehand, usually in the shower or in bed before I sleep; but then it's still very, very barebones. Usually the story does its own thing and I find myself developing character arcs and motifs around the scaffolding as I go, and then I'll go back and fiddle around in the rest of it until it looks intentional.
... I'm not sure if that helped. LMK if you have any other questions.
#ask#thank you for the ask!! this was so nice. i don't often think about my writing process tbh i could probably stand to scrutinise it more#dead poets society#tristan writes#dps#anderperry

Northanger Abbey Readthrough, Ch 1
Welcome to the Northanger Abbey Readthrough, October 2023! I will be posting one chapter per day, which will take us right to Halloween. This readthrough does contain spoilers, because I can't help myself.
We begin with the advertisement from the author, who is clearly annoyed that her first novel was purchased and then not published.
That any bookseller should think it worth-while to purchase what he did not think it worth-while to publish seems extraordinary.
While Jane Austen notes that books have changed, by which I assume she means the popularity of some of the novels referenced, I am pleased to inform you that Anthony Trollope mentioned Mrs. Radcliff and The Mysteries of Udolpho in his 1987 novel, Barchester Towers! Even the veil! So clearly the novels she was satirizing had not yet gone out of style.
On to the story! Catherine Morland is so very normal. The most normal girl ever. She also isn't an orphan, both her parents are living which the narrator points out is very hard for a heroine (lol). She doesn't really like lessons and she likes running around and rolling down hills.
She never could learn or understand anything before she was taught; and sometimes not even then, for she was often inattentive, and occasionally stupid.
Catherine's indifference to flowers will come up later, but this line is also funny in a forbidden fruit way:
Indeed she had no taste for a garden; and if she gathered flowers at all, it was chiefly for the pleasure of mischief—at least so it was conjectured from her always preferring those which she was forbidden to take.
This is a great description of an older sibling (I like to think this describes me as an older sister):
very kind to the little ones, with few interruptions of tyranny
And her family is so good and normal too! Her mom seems to have some good parenting practices:
She learnt a year, and could not bear it; and Mrs. Morland, who did not insist on her daughters being accomplished in spite of incapacity or distaste, allowed her to leave off.
The Morland family seems like a strong contrast to the Bennets, both of them employing no governess. We learn that the Morlands are actively invested in their children's education (unlike the Bennets):
Writing and accounts she was taught by her father; French by her mother: her proficiency in either was not remarkable, and she shirked her lessons in both whenever she could.
And even though the older girls are left to "shift for themselves", Mrs. Morland, who is both poorer and has double the children, can be more easily excused for some neglect. She sounds like a slave to the children's education, unlike Mrs. Bennet!
Catherine, a tomboy, begins to become interested in more feminine pursuits, but she does not transform into a great beauty or an accomplished young lady. Her achievements are similar to those of the ordinary person:
So far her improvement was sufficient—and in many other points she came on exceedingly well; for though she could not write sonnets, she brought herself to read them; and though there seemed no chance of her throwing a whole party into raptures by a prelude on the pianoforte, of her own composition, she could listen to other people’s performance with very little fatigue.
Catherine is just the most relatable heroine ever! She's adequate. She's reasonably intelligent, passingly pretty, a true Every Woman. And really, the whole novel is full of so many small human moments that hit just as hard as the more dramatic ones from other novels (Lucy telling Elinor Edward is engaged to her, Louisa falling from the Cobb, Lydia's elopement) because they are things that might happen to anyone. Really wanting to see your crush and instead having to hang out with someone you dislike; not knowing if someone is angry at you or not; and finding out your friend isn't a real friend... Northanger Abbey somehow explores the most ordinary things without making them boring.
Also, while Catherine may seem unintelligent, the girl must have read a lot of Shakespeare, the quotes in this chapter come from Twelfth Night, Measure for Measure, and Othello. I reluctantly read 5 Shakespearean plays in high school, so Catherine is at about par with my education (I like Shakespeare now! I learned to appreciate him in university when I saw a few of the plays in person).
Catherine is also such a happy, bubbly, character. I can really imagine her being "all happiness" when her parents consent to her trip to Bath. We are told Emma Woodhouse has a happy disposition, but we don't see her dancing in her chair all the way home after a fun evening. Catherine really has joy and she comes back quickly from disappointment. She's a really great character to go on a journey with.
I feel like it must be noted, Catherine has to get away from her family to have an adventure because she has good parents. Good parents are exactly what you want to have, but as the narrator points out, they hardly make a good heroine! So the narrator is forced to remove our nascent heroine from her loving home into the dubious care of the Allens (and really they aren't that bad) for her story to begin. This contrasts again with the Bennets, who manage to supply a good deal of the story's conflict all on their own!

Hi! I’m sorry I’m gonna write to you a fucking essay on lumax, because I’m going insane.
I’m sooo tired by fic writers making lumax seem less serious and like make Max not like Lucas and them ending up friends even when it’s not el/max. Like. They are not on and off, they are being goofy.
I mean, in order to be together, they had to make very serious decisions. Lucas had to go against the party again, and for a girl (directly contradicting his season 1 arc), and stand up for his beliefs. Even when last time he did it he was so wrong. And he chose Max again and again, even after understanding who Billie is. Him standing up to the party and being loyal to someone even though it directly contradicts the lessons he learnt in season 1 works so so well for his character.
And Max, being an abused, fatherless girl, from a racist household with two violent men who are not blood relatives, separating from her family and choosing Lucas and freedom, it’s such a heavy decision that most adult women in her situation are incapable of making! And she did it!
They work so well together, and I believe that they are really, probably are going to be together for life (Lucas asking his dad about his relationship with his mom shows that he is very serious about it from the very beginning). In season two they are so obviously making choices that are life altering! And then!! In season three!!!! They are just goofy ass teenagers. Like I honestly expected them being all star crossed, AND NO! They are fucking around!
Like I’ve seen sooo many fics where Lucas and Max are called “on-and-off again” and being compared to mileven or byler who are presented as romantic and true and I have to scream!
They are not “on again off again”! They are two middle schoolers!!! They are playing house!!! They are being over dramatic!!! It’s about Max saying to at least someone “I can just stand up and leave”, it’s about Lucas being loyal and replying to her “you can be as mean as you want and I will find it funny and challenging, I will never act threatened by your strength”!!! It’s a game where Max always comes back! That’s just them playing out scenarios and testing boundaries, they are not on and off!
lumax <3 my babies. best romance in the show, and i’m so dead serious about that.
i kinda see it both ways, i think the dumping thing is both just a silly, goofy kid thing. i mean, she dumps lucas just because el dumped mike lmao. but i also think it’s max testing lucas in a way.
like you said, she doesn’t have any positive male relationships in her life. so with lucas, it’s like she’s lashing out. seeing if he’s just gonna abandon her. if he’ll get tired and realise she isn’t worth it. but he doesn’t. he comes back every single time. and that’s so important!!!
they aren’t on and off because they don’t love each other, they’re on and off because they do love each other, and they’re kids and won’t always know how to interact in a super healthy way.
they’re literally a mixed race couple in the 80s, and max has a very racist family. to be together at all means that they’re devoted to each other!
how can you watch any of the seasons, but specifically 4, and think otherwise?

Ellie’s great adventure (for lack of a better title)
(PART 3)
(there was supposed to be one more but i decided that this is the last one guys i just want to pump it out so i can actually start rp-ing)
It has been several days since Ellie and the bears had left the bear den. Ellie had seen so much flora and fauna she hadn’t had the opportunity to see in years in just a few days. It was amazing.
She was also somewhat convinced that the bears could understand her. Maybe it was just some childish fantasy, but she helped the mama bear by “babysitting” her children. She learnt to swim and bathe in waterfalls and learnt from mama bear’s lesson on how to catch fish. Sadly, she didn’t have the claws required, but she made do with her arms. To little success, due to the slippery smooth surface of the fish, but it still worked.
Once, she almost drowned because she didn’t know how to swim. Mama bear had to pull her by her hair, like how she did when she was dragging Ellie to her den, to save her.
Ellie presented them with grilled fish. Behold! Civilisation! The bears seem to like it. The fire also kept them warm, but Ellie had to constantly make sure the cubs weren’t getting dangerously close to the flame.
It was fun. This whole journey was, but Ellie couldn't help but think about Corvus. It was weird. A few weeks ago she wouldn’t have cared if he existed, but now she was actively chasing him, like he was a wanted criminal and she was the police. With his weak body, could he really survive out in the wild for this long? Ellie has been converted to a berry and fish diet, currently, but what could Corvus eat? Maybe he has company to keep him safe. Even so, she worries.
This was the first time she worried about Corvus. Sure, he gets a fever every two business days, but she never really cared. She hardly got sick, she took care of her skin-level injuries (which were no stranger to her), and if things got really bad, Luna was always vacant. To her, Corvus was hardly there.
But now he was the centre of attention in her mind. She wondered why he had to leave, what business he had to settle, and how many broken bones he’d have when she found him.
Mama bear nudged her. What’s on your mind?
“It’s… about that guy again. Dr. Corvus. I wonder if he’s ok.”
The bear took a seat beside her. I see.
They sit in silence for a while before Ellie breaks it again. “I wonder what prompted him to leave so suddenly. I didn’t… even think that he had a family. I mean, I don’t really have one.”
What do you mean?
“My father wasn’t… the best,” Ellie averted her eyes, opting to stare into the starry night sky. “He would scream, and throw things at me. I don’t consider him as family.
I don’t really understand the concept of a family. I don’t know where my mom is or what happened to her. I don’t even think I remember what she looks like after all these years. But my dad’s face is something I can’t erase from my memories. I want to forget him, but I can’t. He was the closest thing I had to family, though, even if he was scary.”
Mama bear sat very still, without any sound or movement, not even as Ellie leans against her coarse fur coat. At that moment, it was the softest thing she had ever felt.
“He was the closest thing I had to a family… until now,” Ellie spoke, her voice softer but still audible. “You and the cubs. You guys are like family, if not a little peculiar.”
Mama bear let out a soft growl. We’re family.
Ellie smiles. “We are.”
“I hope he finds his family,” she whispers, sleep already tugging against her eyelids. “I hope he settles everything, and comes back with us, and everyone will be like a family again…”
Mama bear growls softly, letting Ellie lay her head on her belly.

15 people, 15 questions
I got tagged by @colourme-feral (at this link here), @pandasmagorica (at this link here), @wen-kexing-apologist (at this link here), @dribs-and-drabbles (at this link here), @belladonna-and-the-sweetpeas (at this link here) and @airenyah (at this link here). Thanks for tagging me guys! 🥰 Hope you're all having a wonderful holiday season. 💖🎄
1. Are you named after anyone?
Not anyone in particular; Mom's dad set out the names for the children of his sons but not his daughters. So Mom gave me a name that incorporates the concepts bright and strong. I sometimes like to think I was named after a laundry detergent. 🤣
2. When was the last time you cried?
I can't remember exactly… I never used to cry, not at stories or movies, unless they involved dogs dying (because that was my first exposure to grief, when my little furry boy died on me during my teen years). After more family members passed away though, I felt my core shift and now know what it is like to be moved to tears by a more human-centric grief and loss (I think I wasn't allowing myself to feel that before, as part of that armor you put on when out in the world as an adult).
And ever since I learnt my lessons I've cried a lot more often, sharing heartfelt moments with characters on the page or on the screen because I'm less afraid of showing emotion (as in, I no longer think of it as some kind of weakness). I think the last time I cried may have been watching Last Twilight? When I watched tough guy Mhok shedding his hard protective shell to love Day unconditionally, with the motivations behind his acts of love going mostly unnoticed and unseen by the object of his affections – e.g., the sunflower just before August turns up late, setting up Day's surprise birthday party and basically giving him away to others when you know his heart is telling him to keep Day for himself. 😢 (I've not watched Ep.7 yet, so I don't know if the meaning of any of this will change moving forward, or if there are more tears in store though.) And yes, I think the last tear I shed was when Mhok grabbed Day to kiss him at the end of Ep.6, to prove that he was loving him truly for his own sake, not plying him with secondhand emotion out of pity as Day had been led to expect from the world.
I may write more about Last Twilight in the future… It's easy to think of romantic love as a gift to be received, but Mhok really does exemplify that the human nature of love is rather more tied to wanting to give of oneself, and (for romantic love at least) that experience only achieves its fullest completion when it is met with the recipient giving you their love in return (or crushing your heart with rejection or indifference instead). And I do see the parallels between love rejected and grief; "grief is just love with no place to go" rings so very true.
3. Do you have kids?
No I don't, and it is maybe the one regret in life I will allow myself. "No regrets" is a great motto to live by, but if I could do things over again I might choose to have kids (whether my own biological kids or my own adopted ones; I'm a little too far gone and set in my ways to consider this now though). Never wanted kids before (noisy, troublesome, a dampener holding you back I told my younger self) – but when my nephew came along it was like somebody flicked a switch and I realized it was OK to feel that kind of unconditional love for another human being, for no other reason than the privilege of loving them. And I think being a parent (unlike a romantic partner) allows you to love truly unconditionally, without expecting anything in return.
4. What sports do you play/have you played?
Used to like playing soccer/basketball/badminton as a kid, but only unseriously and very badly. Nowadays I swim a lot and the gym is my second home (but I'm not at all some bulked-up gorilla; I don't have the genetics nor the inclination to abuse my body with steroids, which is the only way to look like the bodybuilders and fitness models IMO). But exercise does wonders for your mental health in addition to your physical fitness; it's been my refuge whenever things got horrifyingly stressful in life by providing an outlet for stress, plus endorphins to make you feel better. It just doesn't feel like it would be any good when you're going through it, but you can sense it after. Which is also part of why it's so hard to get yourself up and exercising when you're down; the hardest part is overcoming the inertia that is doubly weighted whenever life is stressing you out. I always have to remind myself that the more I don't want to go to the gym, the more it is I probably need to go.
5. Do you use sarcasm?
Sarcasm? What, ✨MOI✨? (Yes I'm being sarcastic here. I can be a bit too barbed with people I know, so I've learnt to pare it back, but my propensity for sarcasm has done me no favors in the workplace. It's also why I understand people putting up hard-shell defenses – shoutout to Pran in Bad Buddy and Mhok in Last Twilight.)
6. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
I think their general demeanour and what their overall body language is conveying.
7. What’s your eye color?
Darkest, darkest brown; so dark it looks black in all but the brightest light. You can't see where my pupils end and my irises begin.
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
Happy endings all the way. Don't like horror movies and I won't pay to watch them.
9. Any talents?
I have a number of interests, but whether or not I have any talent in them is for others to judge because – even though I'm proud of some of the things I've done – my ever-critical perfectionist's eye can never fail to see flaws and things I could've done better. Everything is always falling short in some way. So my interests are: languages and linguistics (I can handle a few languages, but only a couple have acceptable fluency while the rest are still in pretty rough shape, IMO). Love to write (in English only, more focused on fact than fiction, but even then the inspiration doesn't always flow). I have an ear (but not an abiding love) for music, so I will often be singing if I'm alone and need more than silence around me. I'm interested in biological sciences (wanted to be a palaentologist as a little boy; isn’t that every kid's dream at some point?) – animals, plants, and nature fascinate me. I used to like dabbling in visual arts, but that's been deadened a bit by having to work with some of that in my job (maybe that's why the visual aspects of BL will always fascinate me though). And I think I do have a knack for research, looking things up and putting facts together so that they can convey some kind of message or bigger truth.
10. Where were you born?
In the delivery room of a maternity ward. My roots are in Asia though, if that's what this question is getting at. 😆
11. What are your hobbies?
Scrolling through Tumblr takes up way too much of my time, but yes that is one of my hobbies. I watch BLs now and then, and from that I go on to do the odd write-up about aspects that interest me (especially culture, linguistics and BL visuals). Another current obsession is baking up fruitcake variations (part of the culinary landscape of the season) and this will continue as a hobby until I've baked it out of my system. I love to watch cooking shows, but I do this more to pick up tips on how to make my meals quicker, easier and tasty enough for me (I don't love cooking, but I cook a lot, to get around dietary intolerances more than anything else). Also – gym and swimming a few times a week.
12. Do you have any pets?
None at the moment. We had dogs growing up and I am an avowed dog lover. But when you're a working adult it wouldn't be fair to leave a dog alone for most of the day while you're out at the office, so I never got one after I began working. Plus dogs don't last long (15 years is already geriatric for a pooch) and I'm not ready to face the shattering grief when they have to leave you. But never say never... Maybe I'll get a kitty for a change? 🤔💖
13. How tall are you?
I'm tallish; tall in some countries, average in others. Taller than Singto, shorter than Ohm. 😆
14. Favorite subject in school?
Art and art history? We had a dream lecturer who made the subject come alive. Also a psychology elective that I took, for all its insights into the human mind. In school school it was a mix depending on my mood and the topic of the day: English, geography, biology, chemistry, mathematics, or art. Didn't like physics or economics at all.
15. Dream job
Something in research and analysis backing up the boys in The Sign. 😆 Or maybe volunteering at a charity to help with food/housing (but I can probably only think about doing this after securing my own retirement).

about all my gods' main subplot: a rant
ok so just to preface this, this is basically the main subplot of the game. so venus approaches you when you start the game and tells you something that i dont remember but she tells you basically "wow hah hey cute boy build three flowerbeds for me? for me? please?" AND YOU HAVE TO FUCKING DO IT BECAUSE OTHERWISE THE GAME DOESN'T PROGRESS BUT JUST KNOW I WOULD KILL HER INSTEAD IF OFFERED THE OPTION. so i make the fucking flower beds (and i always fucking destroy them right after she completes the quest (also i fucking hate this AGAIN because it makes me spend science points on like. DECORATIVE SHIT WHEN IDGAF ABOUT THIS AT ALL. MY CITIES IN THIS GAME ARE ALWAYS FUNCTION ONLY)) and then you get a fucking cutscene about a messenger of mars informing him that I AM COURTING HIS GIRL WHEN IN FACT I AM DOING NO SUCH THING. so he gets pissed. he comes to me and says give me 10000000000 gold in 1 minute or face my Wrath like. WHAT DO YOU MEAN? WHAAAAT. LIKE AT THIS POINT YOU HAVE LIKE 400 MAX AT ANY GIVEN TIME AND EVEN THEN I WAS ALWAYS POOR AS BUNS. I HAD LIKE. 20. AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT. so he LIGHTS MY ENTIRE TOWN ON FIRE. and i don't have wells or access to the ocean so every single person has to go to the river to get water to put out buildings and then the fire spreads and 🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔 DING DING DING DING DING 🔔🔔DING🔔DI🔔🔔N🔔G. dont get me started. so i resolve that and surely you think this must be the end. surely angelicus has learnt his lesson from that to not even BREATHE in venus's direction. NO. now i have to build her statues and you see where this is going.
so mars gets mad AGAIN and i resolve it AGAIN and at some point HE BRINGS HIS MOM INTO THIS WHICH MAKES IT WORSE CUS SHE BREAKS BUILDINGS AND NOW I HAVE TO REPAIR THEM WHICH COSTS MATERIALS AND MONEY WHICH FUCK YOU. mars basically agrees "make me three obelisks and ill lay off" which i hate again cus the game only has 2 kinds of obelisk so i have to make two of one kind, kys. BUT THIS DOES NOT LAY HIS MOM OFF OF ME. SHE KEEPS FWACKING ME UP. idr how you get her to lay off but. THIS FUCKING COMIC CUTSCENE. AND LET ME PASTE THIS IN BECAUSE THIS MADE ME MAAAD
Meanwhile, the young god had gained the favor of fair Venus and asked her out on a date… …"Nor need I write - to tell the tale, My pen were doubly weak: Oh! what can idle words avail, Unless the heart could speak?" - he confided from his perch on one knee. They stood and freated their eyes on the sunet, watching as the sun slowly sank into the abyss of the sea… "She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies And all that's best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes"… Let's leave these love birds…
THIS MADE ME SO MAD. CUS WHAT. LOOK AT MY BOY
AND TELL ME HE LIKES WOMEN. WHAAAT. ALSO HIS POETRY IS BUNS. PUT DOWN THE PEN BOY. AND IT JUST MADE ME ANGRY CUS LIKE. WHY WOULD YOU KEEP FUCKING COURTING HER IF YOU LIKE MEN AND ALSO HER MAN IS BEATING YOUR ASS AND HE ROPED HIS MOM INTO IT TO BEAT YOUR ASS TOO? FOOLISH BOY. anyways eventually angelicus is made a god and mars is like "yeah i believed in him all along" WHEN LITERALLY THE FIRST CUTSCENE MARS IS LIKE "FUCK HIS ASS AND HIS FATHER THIS KID WILL NEVER AMOUNT TO ANYTHING" and just die. die .die.deied.eididiel.d.de
#all my gods#i genuinely believe i am the only fan of this game.#if anyone else knows/plays all my gods please DM ME please idc how annoying or shy you are PLEASE i need fans of this game#also i named the son of saturn angelicus because tsos is not a good name#niche#rant

The Jungle - 3rd Episode Review
I'm back with a review from this shit show. Really it is getting worse episode by episode. It is not engaging at all anymore. I'm still watching it because it's a series that's so bad it's good. You know what I mean ? I just want to see where they are going. I know many people already dropped the series for obvious reasons but I'll watch until the end and have fun writing those silly reviews full of spoilers. You've been warned.
So the episode stars with the flashback from last time where Bad Mom took her son and changed his name. We see that Pladao saw everything and heard everything. My question now is how can she remembers all that right now? This is so weird but anyway let's accept this because if you question too many things in a bad show, you can never watch the rest of it. So Bad mom is trying to convince her son to stop working with Gale because she is bad and has stupid reasons to do it. This guy is so manipulable. We don't know why he is always listening to her. I mean he is an actor so he must be rich. He is not underage anymore so he can probably access his money and now that he is famous he probably as connexion. He doesn't need do depend on his mom that much anymore. The show is trying desperatly to make us believe that Bad Mom has so much power that she controls all the entertainment business but Bad Mom is only an actress. They all act like she is producing the whole system.
Anyway we jump from the scene to another one with the Jungle minus Pite and Phethai. They are playing cards and drinking. Suddenly Phethai arrives and joins the game. The transition of scenes are always so bad it's freaking amazing to be this bad. It is always missing something. They jump too fast. Then, there is another cut to Pladao and Gale who are back to the Rendez-vous, the hidden bar so easy to find. Pladao wants to confront again Nannaman. She is forcing her friend to help her in her stupid plan. I don't understand their friendship. It's not healthy at all. Anyway they are playing the piano again to get in but of course the music is not right. They have no clue so it's a bit hard to enter. Why did Pladao not think about that before coming ? It's not like she didn't know how you have to enter the bar. The scene only exist so we get the story of Kaewta, her dead cousin. Pladao explained that it wasn't an accident and the responsible is Nannaman. We got a flashback where Pladao is back at home with food and discovered that her cousin took pills and died because of it. It's so bad ! The actress who played to cousin wasn't even doing anything and it looked terrible. The pills were aspirin and we learnt that the cousin was allergic to it but she took it anyway. Why would you do something like that? Didn't she know about her allergy ? We don't have more info. It's only, "Prayers, prayers, sorrow". Pladao checked her cousin's phone and found text messages where she was begging someone to come back to her because she couldn't live without them and that someone told her to die. Here a lesson for you all: Never go back to your ex. So the cousin had a boyfriend but no one knew him. This is the mystery! The cousin had a photo of herself with just the shoulder of a man and this picture screams "man with no intention of being in a relationship". I think Pladao jumps to conclusion a bit easily. She isn't even sure about Nannaman being the real culprit and also he hasn't really done something bad. It's the cousin who decided to take those pills because her "boyfriend" didn't want to get back to her and told her something really mean. Okay this behavior is not the best but the person can't be responsable for the actions of others. The guys from the Jungle never really made any girls felt like they are more than a one night stand. They are pretty honest with how they act towards the women they have intercourses with. The show litteraly presented them as womanizers so why would they be responsibles for that death. This is so stupid.
Irin apperead from nowhere and she guessed the song so they can all enter at the same time. Why does Irin act like she doesn't recognize Gale ? Why do people have memory loss all the time in this show. Anyway, Irin knows the guys pretty well so the girls join the Jungle. Remember they were playing card and drinking. Phethai is here and he shared an awkward moment with Gale. I just noticed that this bar is so empty. Hunter must starve to keep it at bay or maybe the production couldn't have any extras for this scene. The Jungle propose to play a drinking card game. The rule is simple: whoever finds the king figure becomes a king and the numerals get ordered around. Is it an actual game ? It's been a while that I haven't played drinking games. For the firt round, Pladao is the king. She asked a question to Naam and he has to answer. Her question is about her cousin and if he knows her. He said that he doesn't and she gets mad. Of course this reaction made him smile. At the same time, Phetai and Gale are still acting awkward around each other. Hack is the next one to get the king and Gale has to drink. Cut, we're back to Pine who is on the roof. Why do we have this scene now ? It doesn't make any sense for the narrative. He is imagining Irin joining him (I thought it was her, but someone on the comment told me it was August so first apparition for her I guess). Man, choose if you really want her or not. This is already boring. We are back with the Jungle and the girls. Pladao tried to help Gale because she is not good with alcohol, but all the men told her that she has to comply. Luckily, Pethai drinks it for her. Now, Pine is back and joins the game. Nannaman is the new king and he orders two people to kiss. It's Phethai and Irin. Gale is shocked and Pine doesn't seem to like it. Naam is really a little shit. I love this kind of characther. They always bring drama around them and I live for it to make this boring show a bit more funny. Gale can't watch this and leave the place. Pethai and Irin are uncomfortable. Fortunately, Hack saves the day and kiss Phethai. Hack is a good friend. His character isn't really compelling but we can still grant him the title of good friend. Pethai then run after Gale. They have some kind of fight but suddenly the crazy journalist is here and filming them. So, Pethai acts against her. This bar is so easy to find this is laughable. By the way, Pethai is a weather vane. Man choose who you like and go for it. Stop hesitating between Gale and Irin. It will only hurt both girls. Why do they find him interesting ? He has the personality of a wet sock. After getting rid of the journalist and her phone, He listed all his faults to Gale while she looked at him with heart eyes. Girl has no respect for herself. He is just a guy! Finally a kiss between them. Granted it's not the most alluring kiss but I take all the crumbs.
I can't believe, I'm still watching this. The story is all over the place. We got a Hunter cameo. Mix smile is really something. Can you believe that he is the reason why I'm watching this show ? Him and Aye but we still haven't seen her. Well, Naam is talking again to Pladao. She is making a face. They are arguing as always everytime they have a scene together. She is telling him that The Jungle men are despicable and that makes him smile. Dude is always smiling. I think I wrote that several time in my notes. Yes because I'm taking notes at the same time as I'm watching this show. Pladao again threatened the Jungle. We leave them to find again, Gale and Phetai in bed. Did they have sex ? They are wearing different clothes so I will say that they did it. For a series about playboys, it's not very sexy or spicy. Phethai is telling Gale that she is special because he stayed the night with her and felt more like he is Wayu with her. She answered that he is both men. Smile, smile again. They are in their bubble. How long will they stay in it until Bad Mom arrives again to burst it?
Gale at work finds her colleagues gossiping about Phethai. They recognize Gale on the video of the journalist. Bad Mom is not happy. Her adult son has a life on his own. Shocking ! It's so funny how those bad moms always think their sons will ruin their career because of a romance. One night stand is okay but a real relationship is a bad no no. What a load of bullshit. So now, he has to do a press conference to apologize to the journalist. Bad Mom and her son have a fight. Also, Bad mom wants to ruin the life of Gale. The rich really have nothing better to do with their life. I think the problem is that Bad Mom doesn't have a hobby. She should really find something better to do with her life than trying to control her son's life. Back to Pladao reading comments about Gale on internet and obviously they are not kind. Gale has no self esteem. She says that she is a nobody and that she shouln't be with Phetai. She is trying to avoid him now. Stupid move! I mean they were in bed kissing just two scenes ago. I don't understand this woman.
We then go back to the Rendez-vous where Gale is going to drink. How did she got the song this time ? Makes no sense. Well, Hunter is still cryptic for no reason and tells her not to drink if she wants to really express herself. However, she doesn't listen to him and wants courage so she drinks anyway. Useless scene except maybe to give a important message about how drinking is not good, I guess. Phethai and Gale found each other again and she tells him, she likes him and she likes being with him. They have been together for two days max. He laughs at her and crushes her little bubble. He is a dumbass. He probably thinks he is protecting her by being a jerk. This guy is so weak. Bad Mom could tell him to jump from a window and he would do it. Also why would Gale has a crush on him ? Girl you are beautiful and you have a career . You can find so much better. You don't need a guy with no willpower. Okay so now Pethai is drinking by himself. Was I right to say that he rejected her to protect her ? I'm sure I am. Hack and Nathee arrive at that moment and they talk with him. Cut to the Press conference. Bad Mom is here of course. Did I say that the actress is really bad ? She is always making the same weird face. We learn at this point that I was right. He broke up with Gale because she asked him to do it. Gale is sad and tries to have a day off but her boss is here and annouces that she will go to Paris. She doesn't understand because she hasn't been able to do her job. She thinks it's because Phethai asks for her to go. Back to press conference and the journalist pretends to have been shocked by the event when she filmed the private life of Phethai. Girl, your crocodile tears fool no one. You are not a great actress. This is painful to watch. Pethai says sorry to pacify everyone. I don't know why he has to do it. He just snatched the phone, he has not been violent to the journalist. Boundaries please ! This woman was following him and he deserves some private life. Despite this, the joournalists only care about Gale and not about the apologies. Bad Mom says that Gale is not her son's girlfriend. At the same time Gale arrive at the press conference but also Hack. We discover that he is a lawyer. So he is not working on education like I thought. It makes more sense. Lawyer are always useful in this kind of show. Anyway, He is saying that Phethai will sue the journalist. Naan is also here. Why is he here ? Well, Hack saved the day again. He saved Phethai twice in this episode. The journalist is exposed for her bad practices. She cries and this problem is solved easily like that. This is so bad, I can't.
Gale find Phethai at the end of it and they have yet another talk. She wants to know if what he said was true last time. Unfortunately for her, He does not answer and leave. We then have Naam talking with Pladao. Now, we know why he is here. She is back at it with her cousin. He of course doesn't answer her (that would be too easy) and invite her to the Rendez-Vous again by giving her the password. That's the end of the episode !
It's still pretty bad but tomorrow is episode 4 and maybe we'll have more answers. The trailer for the next episode is all over the place so it will be a fun silly watch again.
