A haunting past (pt.1)
Price was cursing as he was looking for any enemy hidden around the snowy landscape, Ghost was hurt because of a shot and they were trying to find a place to hide for a moment. They were so near to an enemy base that was only a matter of time until someone found them, it was dangerous to be outside for now. As they stopped near a pine Gaz and Soap checked Ghost's wound, he talked with Kate, praying for good news.
"Six to Watcher, you copy?" he asked without stopping looking around
"Here Watcher, send traffic" she said between the static of the line
"We need back up, 7-2 is wounded and we're low on ammo. I'm not sure how much more we can advance before we're spotted"
"...I know, I already talked with someone and back up should be on their way"
"Good to know, but why do you sound so disgusted, Watcher?"
"I don't...get along with their coordinator" Laswell hissed with frustration
"Alright, but this back up..."
"They're good and will bring a medic with them, just find a place to hide for now. I'll give them your location once your done, don't worry"
Like that they closed the line for now, and Price ordered Gaz to look for a place to hide near there. Meanwhile, Soap and him just helped Ghost to move while the Lieutenant murmured something with fury, trying to move on his own as well. Soon Gaz informed them about a little place near the pines, an old storage almost destroyed but with enough space and the roof intact enough to be a place to stay.
"Take us there" he said while the temperature went down a bit more
Soon they were there and Price started to treat a bit the wound, at least until the back up arrives. On the other hand Soap and Gaz were the guards for now, looking at the snow with the rifles up, almost waiting for an enemy to appear and start a shooting. They heard slightly how Watcher told the Captain that the back up had their location, and were two or three minutes away.
"Who do you think Watcher sent?" Soap asked with a sigh "she doesn't sound so happy about it"
"No idea, I never heard her talk with that much emotion" Gaz said with a side smile "but whoever it is, they are a bloody gem, don't you think?"
"Aye, maybe"
The minutes passed in absolute silence except for Ghost's growls, but the two Sergeants got tense for a moment. Both of them felt and heard something, steps followed by a stare that made their hair stand on end...but none of them saw anything. They stayed like that for a second, trying to figure out who or what was that, now feeling in danger.
As their breath turned to mist, this time they saw something, a little glow on the pine branches. They were just about to press the trigger, but Laswell's voice stopped them while she informed them that they were the back up. And like that, less than a minute after more steps were heard near there.
Eight figures appeared on the entrance of the old storage, all of them dressed with artic equipment and the only thing they could identificate was a patch embroidered in white. For a second, while the people stared at them, they swore that two of them felt familiar, but they weren't so sure.
In a second, one of them just walked inside with the hands in the air, then pointing to Ghost. They all looked each other for a second, but Price sighed and nodded when he saw the badge on his uniform as he left the space for the medic to work. For their surprise, it was just in matter of minutes that everything was done.
"The shot has an exit wound, and the old bandages kept the bleeding controled. We might be able to move at our normal pace" he muttered with a raspy voice while he treated the wound for the time being "but we need to go to the base soon, or to the evac point. I'm worried by a substance that could have entered the wound"
One of the figures nodded and made a sign to another, whom walked near the medic to help him with the stretcher to carry the British Lieutenant. Soon they started to walk again, with the second tallest person and one who just stared at them without a single sound basically disappearing into the snowy forest, leaving all of them there. They distributed with the two people carrying the stretcher in the center while the rest scorted them, everything in silence.
At the same time, Price notices how the tallest figure was talking with another one in whispers, then that second figure just started to talk to the radio. It gave him a bad feeling, but was unable to do anything, they had the advantage over them. That until they heard a buzzing that scared the shit out of them, and soon the line with Watcher went back to line.
"Shit! Six, a fighter has just left the enemy base!" she basically shouted "you're spotted!"
"Crap..." he murmured as he looked at Ghost with a chill going down his spine
"GET TO COVER IMMEDIATLY!" a woman shouted and that unknown team started to move in just seconds
In that moment, the 141 recognized the voice and got surprised to see her again, but went to cover anyways. They hid in the forest and behind big rocks, looking at the sky as they hold their breath. Soon they saw a shadow over the snow, just to hear how it crossed the sky in a second.
"A fucking F-16" another figure hissed, also revealing their identity "why this people have it?"
"Doesn't matter now" the woman said before going back to the radio "6-2, status"
"T-minus three minutes to arrive" a man's voice answered with confidence, but a little distorted
"I need you here in less"
"Then make it a minute, I'm on my way"
And just as said, a minute later, another fighter crossed the sky at such high speed that they just saw the shadow for a second. Soon after, a chase began between the two fighters, followed by some shots that fell in the snow. The snow dust made little clouds as the sound of the engines, louder enough to make the pines shake, filled the air.
The woman, the Captain, chuckled as she saw the chase through the telescopic sight of the rifle. She followed the sight of the fighter, which just did a manouver to avoid a shooting directed to his engines.
"That's the Eager I missed" she murmured, calling everyone attention
"That's Eager?!" the Lieutenant asked, surprised
"Did you think I brought him to the team just to transport us everywhere? C'mon, you know me better than that"
"Well, shit..."
For a second they stayed in silence, waiting for an answer, hearing the shots in the sky. And with an explosion, the F-16 fell wrapped in fire, far from them. Soon the F-15 appeared back on sight, heading back to the ally base as the Captain's radio cracked again with the pilot voice.
"Enemy down, going back" he said with a scoff "you better run, Six, I think they heard the explosion. The evac vehicle is in it's way, ten minutes. See you around, don't die, would ya?"
"Copy, on our way" she said with a smile under the mask "cheeky brat..."
"Figure it out, Cap. You knew I was like this from before!"
"How funny, idiot..."
From there it was just a couple of minutes until they arrived to the evac point, soon getting inside the helicopter to go back to the ally base where they were staying at. When they landed no one wasted time and the medics transported Ghost to the medic bay, all while the other team took off their helmets and masks, sighing. The 141 looked at the Captain and Lieutenant they met during the mission in Las Almas, but also the rest of the team.
The blonde man of the team was the medic, who just walked inside the bay with the helmet grabbed under his arm, murmuring something. Also another blue-eyed man went to talk with the tall man the saw before disappearing, laughing while they walked inside one of the offices buildings. Then other two of them, the shortest and a man who had a rifle packed into his back, bumped fists with a chuckle.
"I can't believe that really was Eager" the red-haired murmured with a smile, looking at the woman "that was weird"
"Ha! You didn't see him when we met!" she answered with a chuckle "when he's inside a fighter, it's like a complete different person"
"Not only that, but since when he knows how to fight like that?"
"Boy, he was in the 101st. And was a TOPGUN student, what did you expect?"
"He's a TOPGUN?!"
"I am, where did you think I get my nickname, sir?" Edward answered back into his usual attitude, but with his helmet also under his arm "the Captain knows the story"
"Yeah, I do" she said with a side smile "passed a long time since I saw you in a fighter"
"I know, this was good. The simulators aren't the same"
They talked for a second, then Alicia noticed a certain Scottish looking at them, and turned around to look at him.
"Is also good to see you, Soap!" she exclaimed with a raised eyebrow "but we can't read minds yet!"
"Sorry, I'm glad to see you again, Origin, Harlem" Soap muttered with an shy smile "thanks for that one"
"No worries, ah, he's one of our Sergeants. Call him Eager, he was the pilot who helped us earlier"
"Pleasure to meet you, Eager, thenks for the help" he said with a side smile "I'm Soap"
"The pleasure is mine, Soap" Edward said with a nod, looking at him as he evaluated him "I'm glad everything went well"
They talked for some hours, at least until Jackaon walked outside, calling the Captain with a raised eyebrow. She walked inside the bay, seeing how Price and Ghost were speaking, with the Lieutenant having a bandage around his chest. But anyway she went to talk with Jackson inside an office, hearing what he had to tell her, mostly about what was inside Ghost's pockets.
"An USB? What with it?" she asked, then Jackson showed her an archive in his tablet
"I sent it to Clover, he just sent me this" he muttered as she read "they found information about Six Aces. About Green Chamaleon"
"The routes they follow..." Alicia muttered as she read "they want to use the panamerican route from Colombia to arrive to Las Almas, from there to the US and we loose the hint after it"
"Las Almas, weren't Luke and you deployed there?"
"Yes, and if they tried to use the cartel routes, it can't be possible now. Alejandro is hunting the leader in Al-Mazrah as we speak, and Sergeant Mayor Parra is taking care of the cartel in the city"
"So the route is interrupted now, huh?" Jackson murmured, raising an eyebrow "by the way, Alejandro? Who's him?"
"...A Colonel, leader of Los Vaqueros, a unit from the Fuerzas Especiales. We worked together before the recent mission in Las Almas"
"Worked...right" he said before shaking his head "whatever, I was thinking about the route since I saw the map. If what you say is right maybe they'll use Navegantes to send everything directly to Europe"
"The harbour in São Pedro?"
"That one"
"I'll talk with Wraith, maybe she can make sure what irregularity belongs to Green Chameleon ships"
"I'll tell Luke if you need it"
"That would be useful, but why Price raided a base with this kind of intel? Mostly on this part of the world..."
"Becuase they didn't know the intel they would find. As far as I heard, they looked for information of a russian fugitive named Vladimir Makarov"
"That was the name of the man of that archives we found in Singapur" she whispered surprised
"At least I remember it correctly. Do you think...?"
"It's not impossible, it can give Makarov access to many resources. He wins a lot if he's allied with them" she commented with a hum "but what do they win helping Makarov?"
"Not sure, but maybe we can ask someone about it" Jackson stated as he took something from the table "Ghost had this in his pocket, apparently they found it inside. The name was scraped until it removed, but we have a nickname and a number carved in it"
Alicia took what Jackson offered, a pair of dog tags, and read the nickname. That was enough for her to get pale and her face to get filled of worry and fear, worrying the medic enough to think of sit her on a stretcher. She threw it back to the table, putting a hand over her face while taking deep breaths.
"Captain? What happened?" Jackson asked really worried "are you okay?"
"Yes, yes, I just...sorry"
"What is it? Do you know who this is? Are they alive?"
"...I know who this is, maybe too well" she whispered as she shook her head
"Can you talk with them?"
"You're doing it now" she muttered "Guardian...was my old nickname"
"Your old nickname...? Why it isn't anymore?"
"Long story, but that's not the point. We need to start investigating why Makarov is with Six Aces" she said after a second "I'll go and tell Wraith to give Watcher the intel about Makarov"
The medic looked at his Captain, but didn't say anything yet, just nodded. And when Alicia walked outside again, he wrote the number, curious, to look for it later. He was surprised and concerned about that reaction, something happened related to that nickname...maybe he could find something.
Meanwhile Alicia walked towards the office where Nicholas was, knocking the door. The comms expert looked at her, noticing how distracted she was, but just called her attention with a cough.
"Ah, sorry. Uh, is Wraith on the line?" she questioned with a sigh
"Yes ma'am, do you need...?"
"I need to talk with her, alone"
"...I'll go with Francis then, call me when you finish" he said, giving her an earphone, smiling a bit "I hope everything goes alright, Captain, you seem tired"
She nodded before letting him exit the room, then putting on the earphone to talk with the agent.
"Alicia?"
"I have news, bad ones"
"How bad?"
"Someone inside Six Aces knows about what happened in Angola. They got my old dog tags and I'm sure that's not the only thing"
"Oh shit. Maybe are they the same who got that archive? The one about the 267?"
"I don't know, but someone knows about it. And maybe they have links with Vladimir Makarov, whom just escaped prision"
"I have heard of him, Watcher told me. Is he allied with Six Aces?"
"We're not sure, but considering we raided a base of Six Aces and found intel about Makarov, while Price found that kind of intel..."
"Well you have a point there, I'll look for it. We might need to talk when you arrive here again"
"Hmm"
"Alicia, what will you do once you get Green Chamaleon or Black Swan?"
"After knowing this information? I'll interrogate them on my own terms, trust me...you definitely will get the information about everything"
"Alright, and what about your history? What will you do? Are you gonna tell them?"
"Not yet, when we have a confirmation...maybe then I'll tell them"
"Do it before they learned from someone else"
"...I know, I know"
"I'm sorry Alicia, this should've stayed buried"
"No"
"What?"
"Don't feel sorry, maybe finally I'll found who sold my soldiers and caused this"
"And then?"
Alicia didn't answered, just took off the earphone and called Nicholas through radio, leaving the room again. Meanwhile, Dominique sighed while she cut the comms, asking herself if this could go over Alicia's edge and do what those two weeks didn't. The agent looked the archive over the office table, there was...nothing yet, just many no-end streets.

That last ask inspired me so how about reader gets REALLY bad migraines and just disappears for the night, missing dinner and then breakfast the next morning. The team goes to investigate!
yet another drabble I wrote under the counter at work oupe

It seems they all suddenly want to pay you a visit and you couldn’t be more annoyed.
All the stress of everything seems to have all caught up to you at once.  With the lights too bright, your stomach attacking your insides, and the invisible band that seems to be continuously tightening around your skull—you’re practically bedridden.
Slowly, the team begins to notice, and it starts with Price.  You’re not at dinner and he doesn’t know what to make of it.
He figures, at first, you’ve fallen asleep.  You don’t answer the door when he knocks so he leaves you to get some rest—knowing you need it.  He shoots you a text to let you know that him and the others will be busy with briefings and training the rest of the night to which you respond, hours later, explaining your predicament.
The next day, Gaz is at your door.  His knock is softer than Price’s.  This time, you sigh and answer from your bed.
“What?”  Your voice is gravelly and muffled by the pillow your face is pressed into.
“Heading off-base for breakfast if you wanna come along,” he says, before adding, “Soap and Ghost are with me.”
“I’ll pass.”
There’s muffled whispering on the other side of the door.  British concern and Scottish protest.  Then, Ghost’s voice comes through the door.
“You alright in there, kid?”
“Fine,”  you answer.  “Sick.”
Deciding not to press, they all decide to leave you alone for the time being—their voices fading to hush whispers as they disappear down the hallway.  You’re quick to sink back into a restless sleep, the uncomfortable cot stiff on your back and the pillow too flat for your neck.  Your peace doesn’t last long, though, because about two hours later you hear another knock.
You wait for the sound of a voice, or maybe a second knock, but they never come.  Instead, there’s just the shuffle of a bag.
Your curiosity, momentarily, outweighs your pain.
Slowly you get to your feet.  Deciding against the dreaded lightswitch, you grab for your phone and use the light of your lockscreen to guide you to your door.  Then, slowly, you turn the doorknob and peak outside.
Soap is crouched in front of your door.  Surprised, he freezes in the act of placing a plastic bag on the ground—and you both just stare at each other for a moment.
“What are you doing?”  You ask slowly.
He scoffs.  Instead of leaving the bag on the ground, he tosses it to your chest and you catch it.
“The Captain said you were havin’ migraines,”  he pushes himself to his feet.
“So?”
“So—I know the shit they’ll give you down at the med-bay doesn’t do fuck,”  he gestures to the bag.  “So me and Gaz went and got you shit that does.”
You eye him suspiciously, the very prospect of him doing something nice for you foreign and off-putting.  You’re shocked, to put it simply, after having done nothing but fight with him since you’ve arrived on base.  When you don’t immediately reply, Soap takes a breath.
“Anyway, I have shit to do,” he shoves his hands in his pockets before he turns to leave.  “And you’re welcome.”
You stare after him for a moment, still processing the interaction.  It’s only when he’s sauntered off down the hallway do you retreat back into your room and open the bag, expecting cheap, off-brand Tylenol or maybe some tea.  Instead, what you find causes you to let out an audible sigh of relief.
Excedrin, a water bottle, and a cold compress.  Thank fucking god.

Born!werewolf soap and Turned!Werewolf Simon.
Simon was turned into a werewolf during his time with Roba, tied to a man so horrible he never associated lycanthropy with anything but pain, and lack of control. It only ever reminds him of a time when he was always hungry for affection, yet violent without it. He never shifts without choosing to, and purposely ignores his needs as long as he can, until it’s debilitating.
Soap who has been a werewolf his whole life, knows his pack’s history like the back of his hand. He’s extremely attuned to his instincts, and to other wolves. It’s almost more comfortable for him to be a wolf, than go through the pain of humanities stiffness.
Them finding eachother and hurt/comfort <3
Initially, upon meeting Ghost, Soap is more than glad to finally have the opportunity to work with another werewolf, let alone one known for his skill, his precision, his deadliness—but then Soap is just as soon finding out that there's far more than meets the eye about Ghost's own condition.
Ghost, like most werewolves, was born human. There's a faint but distinct smell about him that tells Soap this, and initially, it's really no concern of his. Outside of his family, most other werewolves Soap had encountered in his life were turned at one point or another.
What separates Ghost from them, however, as Soap soon figures it out—is that Ghost never shifts. Not unless he has to, anyway. And that makes Soap curious more than anything.
Because shifting is such an integral part to being a werewolf. It's natural, freeing, and it's one of Soap's favourite things. It's a new kind of powerful that's so important and special to a werewolf, that Soap could never understand why Ghost would ever want to stave off such a thing. And being that Ghost is so tight-lipped about his own life, Soap has no idea where to begin guessing.
It isn't until months of knowing each other that Soap starts to get a hint.
The mission is tough. The team is in a tight spot, and only Soap's claws and teeth and strength aren't proving to be enough. So with a look Soap can't quite decipher, Price pleads silently with Ghost to do the one thing they all know he hates.
But because it's necessity, Ghost follows through. Soap should have clocked something was wrong in hearing pained groans and too-loud cracks of shifting bones, but he can't do anything to stop it. Can only watch as Ghost is released and begins a massacre, and Soap can only trail behind to pick off stragglers.
Once everything is said and done—it takes an hour to find Ghost, who had taken on the unfortunate task of shifting back alone, and who is discovered curled up and staring ahead at nothing in a far corner of one of the warehouses they'd been assigned to raid.
He bares his teeth when Price moves to approach him, a low growl rumbling out of his throat. Price pauses and glances back to Soap, whose hesitant attempt is met with no protest.
Huh.
That distant look still glazes over Ghost's eyes, though the fog clears ever-so slightly when his attention is called to Soap sitting beside him. Where Soap feels more alive than ever after a shift, Ghost looks... small. Afraid.
Hurt.
Soap begins to suspect the circumstances of his turning had been less than favourable, and his heart breaks with that realization.
Ghost, as touch averse as Soap has known him to be, tucks into Soap's side without prompting, leeching off his warmth and comfort while, in witnessing the scene, Price and Gaz turn and head out to meet exfil and explain the situation.
Whatever had happened to Ghost to have his shifts be this way—Soap determines then, in that very moment, that once they're back to safety and Ghost is back within himself, Soap is going to find a way to help him make peace with this inescapable part of his being. He'll find a way to turn bad into good, or neutral, at the very least, because Ghost doesn't deserve to be a stranger to himself.
Soap will take that pain away if it's the last thing he does. Because he doesn't think he could ever stand seeing Ghost so broken again.
He wraps his arms around Ghost's broad frame and lets the lieutenant bury his face in Soap's chest with a vulnerability Soap only gets to witness as a cause of animalistic instincts still not having worn off. It'll be inevitable, when Ghost comes to only to back off and shut everyone out for a little while, but for now, Soap selfishly indulges in the comfort as much as Ghost needs it.
Soap will make that pain his own, if he has to, he thinks.

You came? You called.
Scenario: John Price, Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick, John ‘soap’ Mactavish and Simon ‘ghost’ Riley
This is part one to three parts. All of these include the, “you came…you called.” As different scenarios I saw them being used in for these characters.
Honestly I can do a part two to this or even do an individual one-shot for a specific character. So if either of those sound interesting please please request it.
All of these were written in mind of different tropes but pretty much boil down to you both love each other. (Sorry if some of these are ooc I did my best😭)
Part Two Part Three
~~
Captain John Price
Warning: blood, pretty open ended 👀
“Does anyone have eyes on Y/n?” Price asked after several minutes of silence from you. He had been trying for what felt like hours to get in contact but you either couldn’t hear him or you were in a place you couldn’t respond.
There was a third option but he didn’t even want to think about it being a possibility.
“The house straight ahead of you,” ghost gruff voice cut through the silence. “Looks like backup was called over there.”
Price took a deep breathe, his eyes zoned in straight ahead. You had to be there.
As he opened his mouth to start giving off orders the sound of a soft whisper came through. So soft none of them caught it the first time.
Then it came again, “captain..” it was your voice. You were whispering like you were scared of getting caught by someone.
He felt his entire body tense at the way your strained voice finally clicked in his head. “I’m going to get her.”
Before his men could even argue price was running toward the house. He could hear a small curse and more footsteps joining not to far behind and he knew his men were running to join him.
“Price. I don’t know if I can get out of this one alive.” You words had him speeding up and with the help of the rest they cleared the house in no time.
Price found you not even a second later, you were trying to put pressure on a wound and he could tell you lost a lot of blood from the way you couldn’t focus your eyes on him.
You went completely limp the moment he picked you up in his arms like you knew you were finally safe.
It’s all he could think about while he stood outside the medic bay. He carried you inside and handed you off to let them take care of you so all he was left to do was wait.
But only a few minutes later your voice came back to him louder as you screamed his name from inside. He could hear the nurses trying to calm you down but you kept screaming for him.
He rushed in and as soon as your eyes connected with his you immediately stopped struggling. Your body slumping into the mattress as you looked at him.
“Price.” You sighed out smiling weakly. “You came.”
He knew you weren’t just talking about right now but about him coming after you even if he wasn’t sure you were going to make it out alive.
He was at your side in a second his hand grasping yours softly. It felt colder. “You called.”
You didn’t respond but he could see the way your eyes started fogging over. “You need to let the nurses fix you up yeah?” He asked gently, squeezing your hand as your soft gaze continued to stare up at him like you were committing it to memory.
“I just needed to see you.” Was the last thing you muttered before he was ushered out.
~~
Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick
Warning: injury, your hinted at being a nurse here. Friends to…
It was late when Price and Soap all but dragged Gaz into the medic bay. Heaving him carefully onto a bed which squeaked slightly from the sudden pressure.
He watched his captain tell the nurses what happened but none of them were who he wanted. “Soap.” He groaned out turning to his friend who was at his side. “Give me your phone.”
Soap did so without question and sat in silence while Gaz called you, unaware of the time. “Hello?” Your voice came through a few rings later. Slightly groggy but still twinged with worry. “Soap?”
“Y/n.” Kyle breathed relieved to just hear your voice. “Nice to hear your voice.”
“Kyle?! When did you get back? Why do you sound like that? Are you hurt?!” He could hear shuffling on your end like you were running around. “Damn it Gaz the one time I don’t take a night shift.”
That caused him to pause. He pulled the phone from his face to look at the time and winced when he saw the small 4am in the corner. He felt worse knowing you didn’t sleep very well and he probably woke you up.
“I’m okay, just needed to hear your voice go back to sleep.” He hung up before you could respond. His hand suddenly feeling too heavy to hold the phone to his ear.
“Stay with him.” Price pointed to soap as he marched out, most likely to finish reports before he came back.
Nurses were bombarding him with medical talk and sticking him in every which way. It was more annoying than anything.
Only a few moments later the doors slammed open and there you stood, chest heaving as you scanned the room almost instantly finding him.
“Y/n.” He smiled weakly, the blood loss mixed with the hit to the head making him woozy. “You came.”
You looked at him like he was an absolute psychopath to even assume you wouldn’t after the call you just had. “You called!” You exclaimed marching towards him. “Did you fall out of another damn helicopter?”
“Definitely not-“
You looked to Soap pointedly who nodded his head solemnly. “It’s part of my charm I feel.” Gaz muttered, sighing in relief when your hands took over the work of the other nurses who left as soon as you came in, knowing you could handle the rest on your own.
“You’re gonna kill me one day Kyle. I swear to god.” You whispered as you dressed his wounds, freezing when you felt his hand graze your cheek.
“Don’t say that.” He frowned. “I never want to be the reason of your pain. Let alone death.”
You almost told him you were joking but in the next second his eyes closed and his hand fell to his side.
You almost panicked till you saw his chest rise and fall in soft breathes. The injury taking all the energy he had left.
“Damn it Kyle.”
~~~
John ‘Soap’ Mactavish
Warning: toxic ex, abuse, protective Johnny, best friends to…
Your phone was on two percent when you called Johnny in the middle of the night. You swore you almost started crying when his voice broke through the storm in your head. “Lass?”
“Johnny.” You sobbed into the phone before the call cut short. You pulled the phone from your ear only to see it shutting off and you felt all resolve start to crumble.
After the fight you and your now ex boyfriend just had you needed him.
You needed his help. You needed him.
In all the years you’ve known Johnny you can almost count on one hand the amount of times you’ve seen him angry.
You’re sure it happened often given his occupation but never in front of you. He hated you seeing him like that.
Which is why you’re almost surprised when you open the door only ten minutes later to see Johnny standing there, a frown adorning his usually smiling face.
“You came.” You all but sobbed in relief.
“You called.” He said as he let himself inside. He closed the door behind him and grabbed you into a warm embrace. “What’s goin on-?”
His confused gaze immediately hardened further when he pulled back just enough to see the red mark on your cheek. Delicately he traced his thumb over it, examining it. “He do this?” He seethed and you could only nod.
“Where the fuck ‘s he?” He demanded but you just shook your head and stepped away from his grasp.
“I don’t know he left after the fight but he’ll be back he has nowhere else to go.” You spoke as you led him further into your apartment. “I need help getting some stuff and leaving before he does. Can you help me?”
“Course I can Bonnie.” You didn’t even need to ask him, he would walk through fire if you needed him to. “Tell me what needs ta come.”
You led him to the bedroom and pointed things out to him and within ten minutes he was finishing packing all the essential things you needed.
You were in the living room grabbing anything sentimental when the front door slammed shut. Instantly Johnny was marching his way to where you. Where he saw you were being crowded into a corner of the wall as your ex got in your face.
Johnny saw red the moment he saw your body trembling beneath him. In a second he was in front of you, shoving your ex back who looked shocked for only a moment before he scoffed.
“You’ve a lotta nerve comin’ back ‘ere.” He ground out, jaw clenching when he felt you clutch onto his arm.
“Of fucking course it’s you.” You ex seethed taking a step closer. “You’re the one she cheated on me with aren’t you? I fucking knew it. I always knew there was more between you. The fucking way you look at her like a lost puppy gives everything away.”
He took a step toward you both again and Johnnys arm moved to shield you further behind him. He had no idea what was going on but he knew you would never do something like the man is accusing. You loved him with every fiber of your being and it’s something that killed Johnny everyday.
“You’d be wise to take several steps back.”
“Or what?”
“Or I’ll fuckin’ kill you. You’re lucky I don’t kill you now for what you did.” Your ex seemed to finally understand the glint in Johnnys eyes and instead of saying anything more, just shook his head and walked back out the front door—pictures rattling from the slam. “Let’s get the hell out of here.”
“I didn’t-“ he paused when he heard you try to speak. “I didn’t cheat on him. I never would’ve-“
Johnny hushed you as he pulled you into another hug. “I know Bonnie I know. Even if you did he had no right putting his hands on you.” He pulled away only to grab your things and lead you out the door. “You’re gonna stay with me fer awhile aye?”
You could only nod.
(Soap part two- 6 Months)
Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley
Warning: none really. Pretty tame for my boy. Exes to…
You called him in the middle of the night on a random day of the week, whispering a soft “Simon?” Into the receiver that went unanswered.
You waited for a moment longer wondering if he would say anything but when he didn’t you just sighed and continued to speak. “I know I’m probably the last person you want to hear from right now but I-“ you paused to take in a deep breathe. “I can’t sleep without you.”
It felt like a heavy confession and it made you feel weak to even speak it out loud but it was true. You couldn’t sleep, not since he broke it off only a month ago. And in the time you couldn’t even get an ounce of sleep without him next to you.
Silence continued to fill the amtosphere and you almost wondered if you even pressed call. But with one quick glance you knew you did and he in fact did answer, just refused to speak.
“Sorry.” You sighed, resigning to the fact that you just may never sleep again. Being in the military it was hard to find something that made you feel safe enough to sleep but you did and it was Simon. He broke whatever was going on off. To scared that one day you would wake up and realize he isn’t the one that you should be with. “Forget I called.”
You hung up immediately after. Your heart couldn’t take the silence coming from him any longer instead you went around your small room and got ready for another sleepless night before you were sent back into the field early the next morning.
You had just turned off the lights and tucked yourself into bed when a rough knock echoed in the silence that was drowning you.
You let out a sigh and rolled out of bed already annoyed. You swung open the door ready to give whoever was on the other side a piece of your mind but instead you stood there frozen.
“You came.” You were shocked to see Simon was the one standing on the other side, eyes boring holes into you.
“You called.” He muttered before glancing behind you in silent question to which you immediately let him in.
“What-?”
Before you could even ask he was already taking off his shoes and pulling off his hoodie, which he hung next to yours on the door. A sense a familiarity washed over you. “You have a mission tomorrow. You need to sleep.”
You didn’t ask how he knew that information or where he even got it from. Instead you followed him to the small bed in the corner where he was already making himself comfortable. “You don’t have to do this Simon. I’m sorry I called.”
“Lay down.” He ordered and you obeyed quickly melting into his warm embrace as his arms tightened around you.
You didn’t know how he managed to do it but in only a few minutes your eyelids became heavy and slumber was quickly taking over. “I’m sorry.” He whispered softly but you didn’t register why nor did you care about what he was sorry for.
You only cared he was here now. “I miss you.” You mumbled and you swore you could feel his arms tighten further.
“Her and Soap would make a good couple, no?” Alejandro smirked, watching as you and the Scot took turns drowning each other in the pool.
“No they wouldn’t.” Ghost said quickly. A little too quick. Price chuckled knowing exactly what was running through his head.
“Why not? I don’t think I’ve seen Soap laugh so much and they seem pretty affectionate with each other.” Alejandro continued. It’s true, you and Soap were a bit touchy touchy but in a headlock and kick each other type of way.
“They’re friends- nothin’ more.” Ghost was growing annoyed of this conversation. He couldn’t blame Alejandro though. From outside eyes you and Soap could be seen as a good pair. Simon hated the thought of anyone thinking you were with anyone but him- yet he did almost nothing to make it seem like you were with him. Only the most observant people- such as Price- noticed the little things Ghost did for you. The way he always carried extra of your ammo in case you ran out. The way he always made extra of his breakfast for you to have some too. The way he would put up a fight when Price wanted to send you on a mission without him.
“I’d have to agree with Ghost on this one.” Captain sighed, standing up from his chair. He patted Ghost on the shoulder. “I’m gonna get started on lunch.”
“I’ll go with you!” Alejandro and Rudy were quick to stand up.
“What you don’t trust me?” Price raised a brow.
“Well I don’t know if you brits are very well known for you food.” Alejandro chuckled, wrapping an arm around Prices shoulder.
“You kiddin’? You know how many cooking show take place in England?”
Ghost sunk down in his seat and tugged at his balaclava. The heat was getting to him. Plus the way you, Soap and Gaz splashed around in the pool looked so refreshing.
“Hey Lieu?” You swam up to the side of the pool, resting your arms on the hot surface. “You sure you don’t want to come in the pool? I could use some back up in here.” God how he loved your smile. It was almost enough for him to rip his clothes off and hop in. It wasn’t that you hadn’t seen his face before. You were a jack of all trades- one of the trades being medicine. You had treated him for a head injury a while back and the way you accidentally called him handsome made it easy for him to take his mask off in front of you. It was the rest of him he was worried about. The bullet wounds on his abdomen. The burn mark across his chest. The deep angry scars all over his back- and all over him really. He wasn’t ready for you to know how fucked up he really was. He didn’t- couldn’t scare you off. So here he was. Sitting in a lawn chair, drinking a bourbon, in a pair of jeans and a grey t-shirt.
“Lieu?” You repeated. He knocked himself out of his trance.
“No, I’m alright.” He took another swig of his drink trying to drown out your pouty lip.
“Alright.” You sighed. “I was hoping we could’ve formed an alliance. I’m getting tired of Bubble Boy and his attitude!” You yelled the last part, causing Soap to shoot you in the head with a water gun.
“You’re just mad cause I’m winning!” Soap yelled.
“She’s kicking your arse.” Ghost shouted. His comment caused a whole new wave of competitiveness between you and the Scot- so much so that Gaz stepped out not wanting to get a black eye.
“I feel like we should be filming this.” Gaz chuckled, pulling out his phone. It was quite entertaining watching two highly trained soldier go after each other with water guns.
About an hour later Alejandro announced lunch.
“Thank god! I’m starving!” You groaned, pulling yourself out of the pool. Ghost suddenly decided the sky was much more interesting to look at than your dripping body. When he looked back down, he had to stop a groan from leaving his lips. There you were- wearing his shirt. His shirt. It was plain black- but had L.T Ghost printed on the back. His insides were swarming, and he barely had any time to process as you ran inside to start eating. He needed to stay there for a moment. He needed to calm down. He wasn’t use to this. Such little things completely throwing him off. He looked down, noticing how his bag and your bag were so close, that’s when he noticed another black clothing item. He grabbed it, holding it up. It was another entirely too big for you black shirt. The one that was probably suppose to be your cover up. So it was a mistake. You meant to grab yours but instead you grabbed his extra shirt. That helped ease the tension in his eyes. He should’ve known you were too good of a girl to be such a tease.
••••••••
The sun had finally started to set. All of you were still coming out of your food coma, and spread all over the house to digest. Times like this were your favorite. Eating delicious food. Hearing and sharing stories with your almost chosen family. Now here you were sprawled out on the tile, your feet dangling in the water as you stared at the pink sky.
“You against company?” Simon asked. You lifted your head to see him sticking his head out the door. You quickly shook your head, giving him a smile. He grabbed a chair and sat down next to you. He followed your gaze and looked up at the sky. Your eyes left the sky in favor of his jawline. He had taken off his mask to eat and couldn’t be bothered to put it back on.
Feeling your eyes on him he looked down to meet your gaze. The mask wasn’t able to hide his emotions anymore- not that you caught the obvious adoration across his face. Your eyes traced over the scar that extended from his cheekbone down to the corner of his lip. He watched you watch him- knowing exactly what you were looking at. Yet he didn’t feel insecure. You had a glint in your eye, it wasn’t judgement or pity. The closest thing he could compare it to was understanding. You didn’t feel sorry for him. You didn’t look at him with any disgust. You just admired it. Like people would a painting that they couldn’t quite understand but enjoyed the feeling it gave them nonetheless. You enjoyed the feelings he gave you. The security you felt with him. You knew instinctually that he would always be there. Guiding you. Watching you. Protecting you. Making your day better- even in the smallest ways. His scars were assurance of that. He’d always fight his way out to be there.
The look in your eyes made it possible for him to say something he’d wanted to all day.
“Wanna go for a swim?” He asked.
A grand escape...Attempt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: after being captured, you become a glorified Fleshlight. while the constant orgasms were... Nice...this still wasn't... What you wanted. You didn't want to be an object... So you decide you'd escape... But... It didn't work... And ended with more cocks for you to take care of...
<- Part 1
Pairing(s) DARK! Task force 141 x reader + a new friend 👀
Warnings: Smut, flashbacks, mind break, Readers name changed to Bandit, oral (Reader receiving) reader has fem anatomy but never given a said gender, age caps, MLM, more non-con/Dub-con, squirting, flashbacks, let me know if I missed anything my lovelies.
A/n: I use Google Translate for some parts. Let me know if anything is wrong!!
Tumblr media
You cry out as your back arches once more, you huff as you try and focus. Johnny pulled away from your naked body, buckling his pants before kissing you on the forehead. "gotta go hen, stay here. Nice and pretty for Ghost ye?"
That was one of the few things you learned during your time here. All the men here had some type of connection to each other.
Johnny and Ghost were an item outside of their job and lived together...Loved each other.
You let yourself get lost in the fantasy. Your body is being cared and loved for by men who love you. Even if you know it isn't true. Ghost pushed his girth into your wet pussy as you gagged when Johnnys' cock hit the back of your throat. The sounds of their moans and praise for each other filled the room. They seemed so in love and wrapped up in each other that they barely paid you any attention.
"fuck I love you, Johnny." Ghost moaned and Johnny moaned "I love you too." they both pushed harder as they came close to their release. When you felt it. The warmth that filled your insides as well as your mouth.
But there was no praise for you. No care. This. This was now your job. Something for you to do, for them to enjoy. There was no love for you.
Price and Gaz had a relationship, but it wasn't the same as Johnny and Ghost. Yet it was still so intimate.
You had misbehaved. The idea of being nothing but a piece of cake had... Started to get to you... Being the romantic you are... But being the crybaby you are no words came... Just sobs and incoherent mumbling of wanting to be left alone and let go.
So your punishment was that you would be let go... But you had to watch.
Hands, legs, and feet bound. Gagged and forced to watch.
Price was so gentle with him. And Gaz looked so... Angelic. Strong body with such a sweet face, and strong but soft and enchanting eyes.
Price sang praise to the younger man, he knew just how to make Gaz tick.
And Gaz kept his eyes on you. 'look what you're missing.' they said, 'You could be enjoying this too,' 'if only you hadn't been bad.'
Your face was wet, you don't remember when you started crying. Again. But it was silent. You stared into Gaz's eyes, those sweet sweet eyes. There was no love for you...
And Alejandro... Now he was an interesting case... He's so passionate that you could trick yourself into believing there was love for you... If it wasn't for the fact you knew he hated you.
You and Alejandro rolled around in his sheets. Your moans seemed to drive him crazy. His sweet words and rough kisses made you feel so wanted.
But you couldn't keep your thoughts from wondering. You knew everything he said was just words... His words were sweet but his eyes said it all.
He hated what you stood for. Someone who killed for money. A paycheck. He was disgusted by you. You just had quick and easy pussy for his to enjoy. And that was it.
And even then his heart belongs to another. Another Man and seemingly a woman who had gone down the same path you did.
There was no love for you.
No love. Not for you.
You couldn't do this. You couldn't be alone like this. Physical was one thing but emotionally... You were starved. You had to get out of here.
You can't keep living like this.
You waited for Johnny to leave, for ten minutes. You waited Ten minutes before you left, in nothing but your underwear and an oversized shirt that belonged to Johnny.
And though you knew Ghost would be in that room soon and quickly notice you were gone, you were on a steady path out.
The Guys were very on edge lately. Having to work on a rough mission with some people they didn't particularly like. So you knew none of them would be paying attention to you.
And you almost did it. You almost made it. But almost in an ironic moment, almost replaying how you got here in the first place. You bumped right into a strong chest. Only it wasn't Ghost.
"Kleine Maus verloren?"
He also wore a mask, but he had piercing blue eyes and he was so... So tall... Strong... And intimidating...
"Poor little thing... You look scared..."
He walked closer to you. His body pressed against yours. His eyes roam over your body.
"Kleine Maus sucht Aufmerksamkeit~ aww."
You breathe awkwardly you didn't know what he was saying, but from the tone of his voice, it didn't sound mean... His hand reaches out and brushes hair from your face before cupping your head in his hands.
He now had you against the wall, his hands roamed over your cheeks.
He knew who you were. He wasn't deaf. He heard Johnny tell Ghost their "little bunny" was ready for him. But he was surprised to find you trying to run away. You weren't being taken care of properly... Poor little mouse...
Now he knows you aren't... His to punish... But there was no harm in playing with the little mouse. He is going to be partners with them for a while... Why not find something to... Bond over?
The bigger man slowly pushed you to the ground and after your slight spell was broken you started to struggle.
No. No, you didn't want to. You wanted to get away. You wanted to go home! You wanted to go home and find love!! You needed it!!
You started struggling harder, sending pitiful and almost laughably weak punches into his strong chest.
He pushed you to the ground, pulling your underwear down and stuffing it into his pockets.
With Johnny's cum still leaking out of you it was easy to stuff his large cock into your abused cunt. However, he still had to give a nice hard push to fully fit himself in.
" Was für eine gute kleine Maus~" the Large man moans, slowly pulling out before shoving his way back in. You cried out. "no! Not again!"
Man didn't hear you, and if he did he didn't care. He just kept shoving his big cock in and out of your pussy, the loud shlick sound and wet skin slapping was what he paid the most attention to.
His girth was perfect to hit that spot inside you that made that little string inside you pull tighter and tighter before it snapped.
A gush of liquid ran down your legs and the large man above you moaned.
What a perfect pretty mouse you are.
His cock twitched once. Twice. Then with a final thrust, he let himself relish in the feeling of his warm cum spilling out of you. Pulling away before letting his hands run against your ass, licking up your slit collecting his cum and yours in his mouth enjoying the taste and sound of your whimpers.
You moaned, reaching behind and grabbing hold of his masked head pulling him into your heat. You were ready to cum again, his tongue was so-
"KÖNIG!"
The man pulled away. His mask fell to cover his lower face, and he turned to the group of five men who looked at him before looking at the sight behind him, your slick heat displayed for them.
"Price! Hello. Sorry for the appearance. I found this little mouse trying to run away."
Price looks at König, "oh really?" König slowly made his way to the five men. "yes."- König leaned in his voice only loud enough for the five men to hear... "you should pay more attention to your pets. A little affection once in a while." before smugly walking away.
You would be punished. König knew that. And that's what he counted on. That one. small. sweet. Moment. Was all he needed to do. To know. One's your punishment was over. You'd come to him.
Looking for a little love.
Dating Soap HCS: (Combatant!Reader)
Tumblr media
A/N: Shoving in there all the thoughts I've had about him and couldn't squeeze into my current fic ideas.
When I say Combatant!Reader, I mean they can fight/kill/use a gun but aren't part of the Task Force nor a soldier.
SFW:
Two words: power couple. You guys could take on the world if you wanted, so good for the world that you’re part of the good guys.
Soap is one of those freaks who’s out of bed by 6 a.m on his days off and starts the day with a jog. He can’t help it, he’s got energy to spare and is addicted to the endorphin he gets from it. Before meeting him you’d have said that a partner up so early was a pain; but how could you be mad at him when he takes such care to not wake you up, and has coffee and a mouth-watering breakfast ready when you emerge? You enter the kitchen where he rewards you with the luscious view of his sculpted body covered in sweat, having already shed his shirt, then sneaks an arm around your shoulders to press an adoring kiss against your temple, along with a “G’morning, Bonnie.” before heading to the shower.
Sometimes you show up unannounced on base - well not completely unannounced cause you’d get shot -, barge into the sparring room like you own the place - and considering the company you keep, you might as well -, and hit all its occupants with a “What’s up losers?”. Before anyone else can react, Soap’s already leaping over the ring’s ropes and running to you, hugging you with so much enthusiasm that your feet leave the ground. “Ye didnae say ye were comin’!” His voice booms with unadulterated joy. “Yeah, that’s called a surprise MacTavish. Now let go of me, you stink.” He throws you a cocky, challenging smirk at that: “Make me.” His voice is way lower, intended for your ears only this time. The glint in his eyes, as he’s staring right into yours, is just as provocative as his smile. You retort with your own. “I could, but I would hate to humiliate you in front of the new recruits, Sergeant.” Cue Ghost, joining you by walking like a civilised human being, and already sick of your flirting. “If you two are done makin’ a spectacle of yourselves, we could have a smoke outside.” There’s no real heat to his words though.
During some evenings at the base when Ghost snuck up God only knows where, Soap, Gaz and you compete to see who can do the best impression of the Lieutenant. Soap’s in the lead with the advantage to be the one having exchanged the most words with Simon, but you’re confident you can turn it around.
Will touch you all the fucking time (except on missions), whether it’s an arm around your shoulder, or your waist, or a hand in the back pocket of your pants, or holding your hand. Will restrain himself if you’re against it but if he can’t cuddle in private he will be sad.
No PDA on missions, but he will definitely flirt over coms. You’re both skilled enough that you can afford to fuck around a bit while still doing your job expertly.
Talking about flirting, he is smooth… until the other person reciprocates. Then he needs a moment to get back in the saddle after short-circuiting.
Fervently loyal. If someone comes onto him, he will reject them frankly. And if they dare to bad-mouth you, they’re getting an earful from him.
The rare fights you have are intense but brief. He always wants to apologise as soon as possible afterwards but he gives you your space if you need it.
You patch each other up after missions. One day you pore over each other’s scars during a lazy morning in bed, asking how the other got them.
He loooves seeing you put assholes in their place. He’s so fucking proud and aroused. Tend to snap at them faster than you though. And if you’re not in the mood to fight, he will gladly take over. “You know I can fight. Pleaaase let me fight”
Your #1 supporter. Will Smith showing off his wife.meme. He admires you a lot. Not as much as Ghost, sure, but that’s still a lot. If you wanna try new things, especially thrills inducing ones like canyoning or bungee jumping, or push back your own limits in the gym or in combat prowess, he’s always down and so, so enthusiastic. First because he’s so thrilled to share these with you, and second because he relishes in seeing you become a better version of yourself and/or the person you wanna be.
He’s proud of his job and will rant about it for hours if you ask about it. Especially explosions. Your idea of a romantic evening is taking in the sunset with a couple of explosions fireworks.
He’s a freaking sunshine and sometimes the light feels blinding. You worry you’re bringing him down. He has such an optimistic outlook on life, and you… simply don’t. You also fear that one day he realises he’s too good for you, whether it’s in terms of looks, personality, morals, or mental resilience… he’s always quick to appease your worries though.
Not getting along with the TF would be a deal breaker. Not that he’s expecting you to become BFF with Ghost or anything, that role is already taken by him
Will not hesitate to use his sad puppy eyes on you. Or even pout. To get what he wants.
He demands a kiss for good luck before every mission, a bit lOUDLY, which makes Ghost rolls his eyes and Gaz makes gagging sounds. Price is just like "Lord Give Me Patience".
NSFW:
Don’t be afraid to (wo)manhandle him: pulling his hair, slamming him against a wall, grabbing his jaw… that will make him moan more often than not.
Call him a good/pretty boy, praise him, tease him, make him beg… He will tease back to challenge you but it just means you should keep going.
He’s a good soldier, he follows orders well. Do with that what you will.
Endless stamina. Will wear you out first every time.
Gets off when he gets you off.
Did I mention that he’s terribly competitive? Will ask you what’s the highest number of orgasms you had in one night and will immediately try to beat that record.
If he doesn't make you laugh at least once during the do, he has FailedTM 😔
a little small talk, a smile, and baby i was stuck
Pairing: Kyle "Gaz" Garrick x GN!Medic!Reader Word Count: 2.4k Warnings: fluff, medical inaccuracies, bruises, kinda hurt/comfort, gaz's helicopter curse Disclaimer: I do not own modern warfare or any of the modern warfare characters.
When Soap mentions the new medic, Gaz doesn’t think much of it.
It’s not that he doesn’t care; he’s just too preoccupied thinking about the upcoming mission to give it any real thought.
That is until Price sends him to retrieve a folder from the infirmary, and he quite literally runs into you. It’s neither of your faults; he’d been walking in just as you were leaving.
It’s a cosmically comical series of events.
You stumble back, rushing out apologies when your foot catches on his, and you nearly fall back into the infirmary. Gaz is quick to react, grabbing you by the waist to keep you from falling and pulling you back up to your feet with a strength you don’t expect.
You’re left staring at the face of this handsome stranger, your hands braced on his chest and his gripping tightly onto your hips.
A beat of silence as the two of you regard each other before a smile breaks across your face, laughter spilling out of you, and Gaz is immediately taken with you.
Your hands leave his chest, and he loosens his hold on you enough for you to step back and put some space between you. It takes a minute for you to compose yourself, your laughter dying down into tiny giggles. You extend your hand, giving your name and a stunning smile.
“Um, hi,” he smiles back, shaking your hand. “Gaz. Or Kyle. Either works; it’s whatever you prefer. Most people call me Gaz, though...but Kyle’s fine, too!”
A single smile, and you’ve got him stumbling over himself like a teenager.
He’s thankful you’ve stepped back from him. He doesn’t know what he’d do if you felt the way his heart hammers against his ribcage.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Gaz, and/or Kyle,” you laugh, giving him a teasing wink.
“Uh, yeah. Yeah, you too.”
“And thanks for the save–” You step around him, his honey-brown gaze following your every step. “–I’ll see you around?”
God, he hopes so.
“Yeah, see you around,” he nods. You give him one last glimpse of that beautiful smile before turning on your heel and disappearing down the hallway.
Gaz stands outside the infirmary for an extra five minutes, staring in the direction you’d gone, a hopeless smile on his lips.
The doors click open, another medic stepping out and staring curiously at the soldier standing before him.
“Sergeant Garrick?”
Gaz snaps out of his trance.
The folder. Right.
-
Gaz finds every excuse he can to go to the infirmary.
He’s the first to volunteer if Price needs something from one of the medics. He lets Ghost get in a few extra hits during training. He’s even started to look forward to those pesky migraines he gets every few weeks.
He’s sure the others have started to notice. They don’t say anything, but he’s caught the small, knowing smile on Price’s face every time he returns a few minutes late from the infirmary.
The other medics are starting to catch on, too, he thinks. They’re always strangely absent whenever he shows up, suddenly busy with something on the other side of the room.
He can’t find it in himself to care, though. Not when he walks into the infirmary and sees your gorgeous smile as you cheerfully greet him.
“Price need something again?” you ask, smile dipping in a small frown when Gaz shakes his head. He holds up his hand, showing off his bruised and slightly swollen knuckles.
“Missed a throw during training,” he sighs, mouth tugging into a sheepish half-smile. “Got any ice?”
“Sit down.” He sits on the closest chair, watching you shift into doctor mode. You’re a good medic, you take your job seriously no matter how little the injury, and you seem to genuinely care about your patients. It’s one of the things Gaz lov–likes about you.
You pull up a stool, sitting close enough for your knees to touch as you examine his hand. Your soft, efficient fingers turn his hand this way and that, lightly pressing against the bruises on his knuckles.
“How’s the pain, on a scale of one to ten?”
“Barely a two.”
“Can you make a fist?”
He does, and you let out a quiet hum.
“Wiggle your fingers.”
“You want me to pat my head and rub my stomach next?” he jokes, moving his fingers. You pinch his hand, eyes flicking up to give him an annoyed look, but he can see how the corners of your mouth twitch up.
“Nothing looks broken or sprained,” you explain, sliding away from him to fetch some cream and gauze. “I’ll wrap it, but you should take it easy for a day or two and let the swelling go down. Come back if it doesn’t or if the pain starts to get worse.”
Gaz nods as you sit back down and get to work on his hand. He tries not to shiver at your gentle touch as you treat him, praying you don’t notice the gooseflesh that appears whenever you touch him.
“Sure thing, Doc.”
He lets you work in silence, content to watch you.
He wonders if you know your nose scrunches when you’re trying to focus.
“All done,” you say, smiling proudly at him while he examines your handiwork.
Gaz flexes his hand, the bandages not too tight, and hums in satisfaction. “Not bad, Doc.”
“Not bad?” you scoff, crossing your arms over your chest. He chuckles, a surge of confidence as he meets your eyes with a genuine and thankful smile.
“It’s perfect. You’re the best medic in the entire world. I am eternally grateful.”
“That’s what I thought.” You both know he’s teasing, but Gaz can see the way you straighten just a little bit more, your smile growing a little bit wider. “Now get back to work, and try to be more careful. For my sake.”
Gaz stands as you begin to clean up.
“If I was careful, you wouldn’t see me as much.” He’s teasing, but you freeze, your back to him as you finish washing your hands.
He hopes he hasn’t overstepped.
“Yeah, you’re right,” you sigh, turning to him with that same beautiful smile. “I’d miss you too much.”
He doesn’t get to reply as you’re called away by another medic, but he's positively beaming for the rest of the day.
-
Three months.
They’re estimated to be gone for three months, at least.
That’s three months away from base, away from you. After seeing you nearly every day, Gaz isn’t sure he’ll be able to handle being away from you for so long.
There’s nothing between you two, not officially, anyway. He knows he has no right to worry about you–about being away from you–when he hasn’t even properly asked you out.
You aren’t his…yet.
Anyone with a working set of eyes can see how you smile and laugh and flirt whenever you talk to him. He’s noticed how your gaze lingers on him when you think he isn’t looking or how you always find a reason to touch him whenever you’re near.
He’s at least ninety-six percent sure you'd say yes if he asked you out. He just has to gather the courage and do it before he has to leave.
His nerves get to him every time, and it isn’t until they’re four days out from departure that Soap decides he’s had enough and drags him to your office.
“Yer not leavin’ until ye ask them to dinner,” Soap huffs, knocking on the door before Gaz can stop him.
“Are you out of your–”
“Hello?” Your door opens a few inches, and you stare curiously at the two sergeants in front of your door.
“Doc!” Soap beams, putting his hands on Gaz’s shoulders to push him toward you. “Gaz has a question for ye!” He gives Gaz a good clap on the back before turning on his heel and leaving.
“Do I want to ask?” You blink at Gaz, one brow raised.
“Probably not,” he sighs. You stare for a moment, eyes bouncing around his face as you take in the small bags beginning under his eyes and tense shoulders.
“You want to come in?” you ask, stepping back to open your door further. Gaz nods, and you allow him into your office, closing the door behind him.
He sits in one of the chairs in front of your desk, unusually silent. He stares at your desk, something heavy weighing on his mind.
“Everything okay?” you ask softly, taking the seat next to him and placing a gentle hand on his arm.
“We’re leaving in a few days,” he mutters, frown pulling at his handsome face.
You swallow around the knot in your throat, “I know.”
“We’ll be gone for a while.”
“I know.”
“Do you–would you–” Gaz groans, leaning back in the chair and scrubbing his hands down his face.
Why is this so hard?
“Kyle?”
Gaz sighs, hands falling into his lap as he stares up at the white ceiling of your office. He peers at you through the corner of his eyes, heart aching at the worry and concern on your face.
“You’ll be here when we get back, yeah?”
“Of course, I’m not going anywhere,” you answer instantly. “Just–”
You stop yourself, teeth worrying at your bottom lip. Your gaze drops down to your lap, where your fingers twist and fidget with the ends of your sleeves. Gaz straightens in his chair, hands flexing as he debates whether or not to reach out to you.
He doesn’t, frozen to the spot when you look up and meet his gaze with watery eyes.
“Just promise you’ll come back in one piece.”
He shouldn’t. You both know that. It’s a chance he takes any time he steps off base; there’s no guarantee he’ll come back.
He won't make you a promise he doesn’t know if he can keep.
Gaz takes your hands in his, squeezing softly, pouring as much assurance as he can into the gesture.
“I’ll do my best.”
You choke out a laugh, a few tears slipping down your cheeks.
“You better.”
-
Gaz wakes up to the heavy smell of disinfectant and the steady beeping of a heart monitor.
It takes a minute for everything to come back to him. He remembers the gunfire, trying to get on the helicopter, Price yelling orders in his ear. They were in the air, and then an impact, and then…
They crashed.
He shifts, his entire body aching, bones groaning in protest. He groans at the pain, trying to swallow down the hurt.
“Gonna undo all their hard work if you keep doing that.”
Gaz turns his head to the right, finding Price sitting next to him in one of the infirmary chairs. He’s not looking at Gaz, busy filling out paperwork instead.
“Where’s–”
Price shushes him, nodding his head to Gaz’s other side. Gaz follows, his breath hitching when he finds you curled up in another chair, fully asleep and using a folded jacket as a pillow.
The heart monitor beeps with the skip of his heart, and Price chuckles quietly.
“Is that your jacket, sir?” Gaz asks, trying not to bring any more attention to the obvious.
“It’s yours. Gave it to them to help calm them down.” Price glances up at him, a knowing smile on his face. “Didn’t think you’d mind.”
Gaz opens his mouth to speak, but you groan softly, shifting in the chair before your eyes blink open. Your brow furrows as your gaze travels up his body and lands on his face, where you finally meet his eyes.
Gaz watches you process before you’re out of the chair, checking over every inch of him and firing off question after question.
“It’s okay. I’m alright,” he laughs, ignoring the ache as he lifts his arm to softly press his hand to your cheek. “I’m here, love.”
“You–” Tears stream down your cheeks, and Gaz wipes them away with his thumb. “You absolute bastard! I thought you were–”
You don’t say it. You can’t say it.
Instead, you lean forward and bury your face in his neck, careful not to tug on any of the IV chords.
Gaz whispers soft comforts into your ears, lighting kneading at the base of your skull as he lets you cry into his shoulder. Price gives him a look, a silent question if he’s alright. Gaz nods, and Price stands to take his leave and give you two a moment alone.
You cry yourself out, pulling away and furiously wiping at your cheeks. “Don’t ever do that to me again, Kyle.”
Gaz laughs, soft and affectionate, “I came back in one piece, right?”
“You–” You’re trying to be mad, but he sees the smile you’re trying to bite back.
“I know, I’m the worst,” he grins. “Promise to make it up to you, though. How’s dinner sound?”
“I think you at least owe me dinner and a movie,” you joke, voice thick with emotion.
There’s that lovely smile.
“Dinner and a movie. Done.”
“And breakfast.”
“Moving a little fast there, sweetheart.”
You huff, folding your arms over your chest. “You’ve got three months’ worth of dates to make up for.”
“Fair enough.”
Despite the dull pain that vibrates across his body, Gaz smiles as he traces a hand along your jaw and pulls you forward into a sweet kiss.
-
A soft knock at your office door interrupts your focus on the paperwork spread out over your desk.
“Have you got a minute?” your husband asks, peeking his head in through the door.
“For you? Always,” you grin, happily abandoning your paperwork as Gaz walks in, closing the door behind him.
You meet him halfway, arms winding around his neck to greet him with a kiss.
“Wanted to stop by before we have to head out,” he murmurs against your lips, pulling you back in for another kiss.
Three years later, and he can’t help but fall in love with you every time he sees you.
“How long will you be gone this time?” you ask, pulling away to settle your head in the crook of his neck.
“A month, maybe two.”
You sigh, warm breath fanning across the skin of his neck. Gaz hums, taking your left hand in his to press a kiss to the ring on your finger.
“Promise you’ll come back in one piece,” you whisper softly, looking up at him with a teasing smile. Gaz chuckles, turning your hand over to glide his lips over your palm to the pulse in your wrist.
“I’ll do my best.”
more gaz vampire stuff because i can't stop thinking about but this time it's pricegaz x reader because i love writing poly 141 lol. hope you like it @ghosts-cyphera <3
cw: blood, descriptions of blood sucking
thinking more vampire gaz thoughts and in my mind obviously price was the one to turn gaz all those decades ago. they were in the army together and price, not being able to stand losing another soldier who he had gotten close to during combat, turned kyle.
price taught gaz everything, always kept him close, always wanted to be on the front lines with him, trusted him with everything he had. they had a very special bond. gaz was not shy to tell you about the intimate moments he and price shared throughout the decades they had spent together. he thought it was important for you to know just how much their relationship means to him.
it doesn’t bother you, the two of them having a bond you could never replace or replicate. price holds a special place in gaz’s heart just like kyle holds a special place in your’s.
it’s months into your relationship when you finally get to meet price. kyle had brought it up hesitantly, but you had no problem allowing price into your home for an extended stay. you were honestly kind of excited, having heard so many stories and seen so many photos of the handsome man, some from almost a century ago (that would never fail to blow your mind).
you feel fucked as soon as he walks through your door, the beard and the warm eyes just do it for you. but what really gets you is the way he cradles kyle to him in an embrace.
price is a perfect guest. he cracks jokes in his gruff, accented voice that gaz groans at but has you letting out a surprised giggle at the older man's crudeness. he helps with dinner, telling you that gaz has no excuse not knowing how to properly cook after he's kept him alive for almost one hundred years. and he has stories, so many stories spanning centuries, stories from before he even turned kyle. you're fascinated.
even after only a few days in your home, you three have fallen into a routine. dinners together are very important to price so you and kyle make sure to carve out time in your schedules to plan nice dinners for your esteemed guest. price cooks most of the food more often than not, but it's mostly because he refuses to let you lift a finger, playfully barking orders at kyle while you watch the pair from your spot at the dining table, sipping your wine.
dinner is delicious as always when price is left to lead the kitchen. it's almost cliche the way kyle and price sip at their red wine, the way it colors their lips a beautiful crimson until they inevitably swipe it away with the tips of their tongues when either one catches you staring. the air feels different than the previous nights the three of you had spent together. the food was homey and rich, settling deliciously in your belly. you had turned the lights down, leaving the room glowing warm from the candles you had lit in the center of the dinner table.
the more you think of it, the more cliche the entire night has felt. you and two vampires drinking wine by candlelight, eating meat that has just barely been seared on the outside. but you can’t complain with the way kyle and price look at you over their wine glasses, sharing glances with each other that you can’t quite decipher. you feel yourself growing wet as the night progresses.
after the dishes are washed and put away, the two men venture into the living room while you top off your wine. you come back to them on the couch, illuminated by the soft light from a lamp in the corner. you decide to be bold and insert yourself between the two on the cushions, feeling loose and warm as you sip from your glass and watch them share another look.
kyle hadn’t fed from you since price’s arrival. kyle has gone longer without feeding from you, but you don’t know how long it’s been for price. “so,” you start, setting your wine glass down on the coffee table while you gather your words, “dinner was amazing, as always, but i was wondering if you two were still hungry?”
you try your best to keep a straight face at your terrible come on but your lips can’t help but waver at the way they look at each other, price raising a brow to kyle as if asking for permission. kyle takes another sip of wine before nodding his head just slightly to price. as price snakes his arm around your waist to pull your back against his chest you meet kyle’s gaze and give him a grateful smile.
being fed from was an experience like no other, it quickly became one of your favorite activities with kyle. it was an act of trust and devotion and you had to admit just how fucking erotic it was to watch him get drunk on you. price wraps a big, hairy arm around your waist, “kyle, she’s such a sweet girl, you better be appreciation’ her.”
kyle laughs, a small sound, as he sets his now empty wine glass down on the table, “i do appreciate her, don’t you think, sweetheart?” he’s taken your wrist in his hand, thumb rubbing over your pulse point. you know he can feel it underneath your skin.
you know what he’s trying to get at, glad that you two are on the same page. “of course kyle appreciates me, john. that’s why i take care of him in return.” you responded, grabbing the hand that was groping the fat of your stomach and placing it around your wrist.
“ahh,” price remarks, “this where kyle does it?” he questions, big thumb sweeping across the thin skin. all you can do is nod under his intense gaze. he smiles, “the neck is quite cliche, isn’t it? and the thigh,” he rolls his eyes, “so fucking juvenile.”
you can’t help but giggle at him, knowing that you’ve allowed kyle to feed from your thighs once or twice. kyle sends you an unimpressed look before price is squeezing your wrist, trying to get your attention back.
“you sure about this, dove?” he probed, and at your nod, he added, “both of us?”
“yeah,” you respond, as easy as ever, “i trust you both.”
“you really got lucky with her, kyle.” john remarks, bringing your wrist up closer to his mouth. you see his fangs for the first time before he sinks them into your flesh, you shudder at his groan.
you feel soft lips kiss your other wrist before the sharp sting of teeth breaks the flesh. you close your eyes and let the floaty feeling wash over you. price pulls away first, laving his tongue over your skin to close the puncture marks he created. he laps up the remaining blood that stains your skin before giving your wrist a final kiss. you open your eyes and meet the red glow of his.
you get lost in them before price is grumbling at kyle, “enough, garrick.”
kyle reluctantly pulls away, lips stained red as he licks over the puncture wounds. he kisses up your wrist to the palm of your hand, kissing each fingertip. his eyes are half-lidded when they finally meet your’s, you two sharing matching dazed smiles.
price chuckles behind you, using his arm to pull you into his lap. being off balance for just a moment makes you realize how woozy you are, but you don’t have to worry about it for long. “have something you can get for her, kyle?”
kyle doesn’t even respond before he’s off the couch and making his way to the kitchen. you two have your aftercare routine down and you hum to yourself as you listen to him pouring you juice and grabbing sweets from the cupboards, snuggling yourself into price’s chest as he runs his fingers through your hair.
Feral
A/N: I'm feeling silly, so why not post an almost 3k little fic of TF141? I have literally no thoughts other than 'hey, why not' so no clue if I'll continue this or not. Just fooling around! This is my first time posting anything like this by me, so don't come for me if I got the terms wrong. Also, I'm a first-person girly, so forgive me.
Warnings: I'm pretty vague, but for full disclosure, possible SA mention? (Nothing explicit or even mentioned, but more a general vibe, sorry that's not more specific) shooting, guns, very minor character deaths, f!reader
Word Count: 2.9k
Read part two here.
Masterlist
I’m absolutely feral and determined to make sure everyone knows it.
Being in a male-dominated field hasn’t been easy and I’ve tried a lot of avenues before settling on this one. Something about being a female medic just really seems to set off everyone’s internal misogyny and nothing shuts them up faster than the little female medic literally punching their teeth in. I get into three fights my first month after being assigned to the 141.
The first fight I get into, I nearly bite a man’s finger off. (He was pointing it in my face and I warned him before going for it, so—deserved.) The second, I punch a man so hard while he’s talking that he bites off the tip of his tongue. (If he wanted to keep it intact, then he should have stopped wagging it.) During the third, I come away holding a chunk of a soldier’s hair. (He touched mine without permission and gave it a little tug. Enough said.)
After that, people seem to get the message. There are still a few smartasses that press their luck, but usually those situations are diffused without physical means. My relationship with my team however…that’s a bit more complicated.
I meet each of them when I arrive, the hulking soldiers lined up like pallbearers waiting for the coffin. I shook their hands, exchanged names, then didn’t say another word. None seemed to know exactly how to react to me and I wasn’t sure how to act around them. We’re supposed to trust each other with our lives, but I wouldn’t trust a single one to pour me a cup of tea. They struggle too, but for different reasons. They’re clearly close and know each other well, that’s why they’re such a deadly team, and I’m an outsider. A suspicious and cautious outsider, although I try to temper my attitude into passive indifference while I try to figure them out.
Naturally, Soap tries to break the ice first.
“You’ve got a thousand-yard stare that could rival Ghost’s, lass.” He comments one day in a charming Scottish accent as he risks sitting next to me in the mess hall. “You can bend my ear, if the fancy strikes ya.”
“I doubt that it will.” My voice is cool, indifferent, and I can’t keep myself from leaning away from him a bit. Too many times did I let myself trust another service member only for the friendship to quickly turn into something else. Something I did not want.
Soap quirks a brow and takes the cold shoulder in his stride. “But if it does. Don’t hesitate to find me.” He pats my shoulder before walking off and I feel the stirrings of something in my stomach as I watch him go. Loneliness, longing, the desire to be part of…something. I shake my head and throw away the rest of my food as I leave the mess hall, trying to ignore that little ember flickering in my gut.
*     *     *
Gaz tries next, but it’s a bit more subtle. Be it by luck or some other divine intervention, none of the team were ever present when I got into the fights. But they definitely heard about them afterward. There’s no judgement in their gazes, I’m sure they heard why I got into those fights, but there is curiosity. Gaz shifts a touch closer after a briefing about an upcoming mission and I clock the movement instantly, my eyes cutting to his. Gaz’s eyebrows pop up and the corner of his mouth lifts warmly. “Heard you were in a hell of a fight recently.” He starts, an elbow propped up on the arm of the chair he’s relaxed back into.
“Her last.” Price says with a pointed glance towards me and I nod, but we both know I didn’t start any of the fights. I simply ended them.
“The boys telling the tale were practically shaking in their boots.” Gaz presses on and I can’t help feeling a brief bit of pleasure at that. Price distracts himself with maps and papers on the other side of the table, but I’m not foolish enough to think that he isn’t listening. Soap perks up, turning to me as well while Ghost lurks near the door.
“Glad to hear the message got across.” I keep my voice low with little inflection. Usually I’m up and out the door after a meeting, but since everyone else is lingering, I figure I can give it a chance.
There’s a quiet hum from behind me that has my back straightening. “Trying to scare off the whole base?” Ghost asks and it’s the first time he’s asked me anything directly.
My head turns so that I can see his silhouette behind me. “Not all of us strike an imposing figure and wear a scary mask. Sometimes people have to see the blood on your teeth to know that you mean what you say.” I keep my voice soft to avoid the appearance of a threat, but let the words have an impact. Gaz and Soap glance at one another while Price’s hands stall over his papers across the table. A beat passes, then Ghost huffs what could almost be considered a laugh. The sound gives me a strange sense of relief as the tension over the room breaks.
“Can’t wait to see you sink your teeth into the enemy then, sergeant.” The corner of my mouth lifts and I nod, glad to have the opportunity to prove myself. I turn a bit more in my seat to see Ghost’s piercing eyes and don’t flinch away.
“I’ll save a blood-stained smile just for you, Lieutenant.” I promise and I think I hear Gaz swallow while Soap blinks. Ghost responds with a simple nod and I swear I see the fabric of his mask shift as he smirks before he slips out of the room.
*     *     *
The first real test comes when we’re sent out on our first mission together.
A month after I’m stationed with them, we’re sent out and it’s a bit jarring for all of us. They’ve been on their own for a while and introducing a new person into that dynamic…it’s enough to make everyone a bit off-center. But I’m used to sliding into places that I’m not wanted and I’m not about to be an idiot and risk everyone’s lives by being difficult, so I tuck myself into the small gaps left by the men. It’s not like they don’t want me here anyway, they’re just…apprehensive. Same as me.
We spend the first day trekking up a mountain through snow and I push myself hard, wanting to prove myself and leave no room for anyone to call me lazy or unfit. The entire day, I’m on Price’s heels as he leads us and I soak in his nod of approval despite myself as we file into an empty cabin for the night. I’m utterly exhausted, but I force myself to look through the house to memorize the layout before returning to the living room. Soap is eagerly setting up the hot plate for us to have a hot meal, even if it is an MRE, while the others are laying out their sleeping bags. They lay them in a row and I watch with trepidation as I put my bag down in a corner of the room, then sit alongside it as I rest for just a minute.
My eyes shut before I realize and I only become aware of it when I hear boots stop in front of me and they snap open. I look up instantly to see Price standing over me and I shove myself up onto my feet, teetering just slightly as I focus on his face. “Sir?”
“At ease.” He soothes and my shoulders lax just a touch at the command. “It’ll get below freezing tonight, so we’re huddling together. I’ve put you between Soap and I, but you can settle where you want.” Price chooses his words carefully with his clear eyes looking over my face for a reaction, but it’s clear that this isn’t optional.
“…yes, sir.” I respond, glancing over at the spot left bare for my sleeping bag. Anxiety gathers in my stomach and my hands clench at my sides. “Permission to take first watch?”
He considers me a moment, fingers smoothing over his facial hair. “Granted.” I glide away to the other side of the house and perch on a window sill as I look over the snowy landscape. Soap is kind enough to bring me my MRE and stalls next to me for a few moments.
“Feel free to snuggle close tonight. Or kick me if I start to snore.” He winks at me and my lips barely twitch at his effort to relieve the tension I know is clear throughout my body. After that, no one bothers me as night falls. The cold seeps into the house and I keep myself curled into a ball to conserve body heat even as I shiver. My anxiety about the impending sleeping arrangements keeps me awake and alert easily enough, but I can’t keep watch all night.
“Oi.” Ghost’s deep whisper disturbs the near silence and my head whips to my left, seeing him standing a few feet away. He moved quietly. Impressive for a man of his size. “I’m taking over. Get some sleep and get warm.” He flicks his chin back towards the others. I swallow and reluctantly leave my perch, brushing past him before I feel his gloved hand catch my bicep. My hand clenches into a fist automatically as I turn back to him to find his gaze locked on mine, his eyes dark and considering.
“I don’t know your story. Price has kept your file under wraps and we trust him enough to accept that. But whatever you’ve been through, don’t assume that you’re going to go through the same thing with us.” I’m pinned in place by his gaze and his words, my eyes widening slightly. I hadn’t known Price was keeping my file to himself, but the show of consideration and loyalty surprises me. It also hits me deep.
“I hear you.” I whisper back and he lets me pull my arm from his light grip. “But I’m not about to trust anyone blindly.”
He nods once. “Fine. But don’t rule it out either.” He quirks a brow at me pointedly before pulling away and settling in my place in the window, effectively ending the brief conversation. His words swirl around in my head while I head over to the others and gather my sleeping bag in my arms as I squeeze it. I kneel on the floor and roll it out between Price and Soap while my heart thunders in my chest. I’m still shivering as I do my best to be quiet while unzipping my sleeping bag, then slip down into it. My shoulders bump against Soap and Price before I shrink, curving my shoulders inward to try not to touch anyone despite that very much not being the point of sleeping like this.
Price shifts and turns towards me while I freeze, still shivering in place while I hold my breath until I see that his eyes are still closed. I release a small sigh of relief before choking on it as his eyes flash open. My teeth sink into my bottom lip as an apology perches on my tongue, but he says nothing. Instead, he shifts a bit closer without taking his eyes off mine, then lays an arm next to me before holding his other up a bit. An invitation.
I swallow and blink a few times as I take in the offer. Out of everyone, Price is the easiest for me to be around. He treats me like anyone else, he keeps his distance, and while he doesn’t hesitate to wield his authority, he wears it lightly. “Make a choice, soldier.” He murmurs with a voice gruff and deep from sleep. My jaw locks as a violent shiver wracks me before I force myself to shimmy closer to Price. I’m not about to freeze my ass off because of idiocy or stubbornness. He takes that as my answer and reaches out, hands wrapping around me and gathering me to him. The only noise I make is a small squeak as he pulls me against his hard body and I melt almost instantly into his warmth.
He cradles my face against the warm crook of his neck with his cheek resting against the top of my head. His other arm wraps around my waist and his hips shift slightly so his legs drape over mine while still in our respective sleeping bags. Like a heavy blanket. My heart is still beating fast as a hummingbird’s wings while my body fights my mind, but luckily, I’m so cold and tired that instinct wins out. My eyes shut and I feel my cheeks heat as his hand falls to the back of my neck, his gloved fingers gently kneading the skin. “Thanks.” I breathe and his grip tightens around me for a moment before he releases a long breath, draping me in the scent of his cigars. I don’t hear Price make another sound because I’ve fallen asleep before he takes another breath.
*     *     *
Price wakes early the next morning and I feel it the instant that he moves. I pull away without hesitation and his arms fall from around me while I avoid his gaze, my cheeks hot. I’m quick to roll up my sleeping bag and check over my pack while I cool down a bit. The morning passes and no one says a thing about our sleeping arrangements despite every soldier having to pass by Price and I while they took watch. Their eyes linger between us a bit, but I’ll take that over any smart comments.
We move out and the mission goes smoothly enough. Gaz and I perch on a cliffside while the others clear a town below. He’s my spotter while I keep a steady eye on the areas they’re heading into through my scope. Being a medic means I have steady hands, which makes me a hell of a sniper.
“So…did you know the Captain before being stationed here?” Gaz says quietly, the first words not mission related that he’s said to me today.
I scoff softly and keep my eye glued to my scope. “No. And if this is a way to get me to talk about the position Price and I were in this morning, it’s a poor segway. It was cold. We were all pressed together like sardines. That’s the end of it.”
“Right, right, sure.” He agrees and silence falls over us again. For a moment. “Ghost and I spoon all the time. Soap too. Like three little peas in a pod.”
I snort, unable to keep the corner of my mouth from lifting. “And leave Price out? Criminal.”
Gaz chuckles and the sound is warm, especially in this cold landscape. “Oh we invite him. He just doesn’t usually show much interest.”
“Hm. He is the captain. Maybe he has higher snuggle standards.”
“You saying the rest of us aren’t snuggle material?”
“Your words, not mine.”
“Ouch, newbie. You strike for the heart.”
“I’m a sniper and a medic. It’s kind of my job.”
Gaz chuckles again and I realize that I’m actually…having fun? At least a little bit, anyway. “I’ll get a laugh out of you eventually, newbie.” My mouth opens to reply before I see a flash of movement in the town below.
Two figures pass by a second-floor window and I spot a hatch on the roof. I focus and take a breath as I aim at the hatch, waiting. I take a second to flick on my coms. “Two tangos on the northeast roof. Hold position.” The hatch begins to open while I remain steady, all my attention on that roof and my gun.
“Copy.” Price’s voice comes over the coms before there’s silence. The hatch opens and I wait for them both to get out, making sure it’s closed behind them before shooting. My breath funnels out of my chest and I make the shots without blinking, the action practically reflexive after so long in service. Both fall without getting to fire off a shot. I’m pretty sure I hear Gaz curse quietly beside me.
“Tangos down. You’re clear to move forward.” I report, heaving a relieved sigh as I see them move through the last stretch of town without incident.
“Copy, move out. Nicely done.” Price responds and I finally get to move out of my horizontal position. I stretch just a bit, wincing as my muscles pinch from being in the same position for so long, before I pack my gun and turn to Gaz who is shaking his head slightly.
“You took out those guys like a damn surgeon.”
The corner of my mouth lifts again as we head out. “Sniper and medic, remember? Let’s get out of here. Your comrades are missing their third pea in their pod.” I comment dryly and he grins, following me down the path where we agreed to meet the others.
“Did you just make a joke?”
“Absolutely not.”
“You did. I’m flattered to be the first one to hear it. Was starting to worry you didn’t have a sense of humor at all.” I roll my eyes and we keep arguing playfully as we go. Gaz reports my shots to the team, talking me up while I shake my head, but from then on, he calls me Surgeon. It catches on and the others follow suit, but more often than not, they just call me G.
Orange Peel Theory
Ghost x Reader fic
“Give the damn thing to me, Lt. Thought you wanted an orange, not orange juice.” He glared back at you, an action most people would have stopped in their tracks from seeing. Instead, you plucked the fruit from his hands, easily sliding your thumbs into the hole he had made and peeling back the skin. He huffed at how easily you’d peeled it, fingers deft and graceful compared to his own.
“There,” you said with a smirk, holding out the fruit. “Now I don’t have to watch you fumble.” He scoffed, moving to grab it from you. You managed to steal a segment of orange, popping it into your mouth with a grin before moving away. He stared at your retreating form, the sting of citrus in cuts on his fingers oddly similar to the sting in his chest.
It was odd how you were always there to offer help with such mundane things. You were simply the FNG when that had happened, a bright force among such dire circumstances. A sergeant who, despite seeing more than enough acts of war and sacrifice, had managed to hold on to what humanity you had left.
Humanity that came as small actions no one expected or demanded, ones you just took to because you could. At first, Ghost found it annoying; always offering help, always checking in on him, always stepping in with his duties to try and make them go faster so he could rest earlier. It infuriated him. He’d never do things like that, it opened up way too many opportunities to be taken advantage of.
At least, that’s what he told himself.
A light rap on his door. Hesitant, shy.
“Lt?”
He sighed, getting up from his bunk and trudging over to the door. Irritability shifted under his skin, like he wore too many layers and they were bunched up under each other, not moving no matter how much he tossed and turned and pulled at them.
He swung the door open, a huffed, “What?” leaving him. He froze nearly instantly, seeing your face look back at him.
Dark undereyes, red capillaries pulling at the corners of dull white sclera like a mirror. An exhausted, yet worried pinch ghosting your features.
“Sergeant,” he started slowly, frozen in place. The irritability swelled, but he couldn’t find it in himself to take it out on you. “What do you need?”
A glance sideways, a shaky breath poorly concealed. Regretable, shameful.
“I’m sorry for waking you,” you mutter. “Just- just can’t seem to settle. Soap’s out field, of course, and Gaz is working with Price on recon-”
“Inside,” he said gruffly, leaving you at the threshold. He stopped halfway to his bunk before turning, looking at your surprised form with a raised brow. “Move your feet, sergeant.”
Eventually, it all evolved into a back and forth game. You’d find little things to do for him, little ways to make his day better. You’d visit his office during your rounds, picking up piles of paperwork or files he was about to deliver to someone else in the base, somehow always tricking him into telling you who they were intended for.
You’d find little bits and pieces he’d misplaced and put them somewhere he knew to look, smiling to yourself when you heard him huff in mild irritation when he eventually found something somewhere he’d ‘fucking looked before’.
You’d bring him a tea, or a snack when he had spent entirely too long in his room or hunched over paperwork.
You’d fill his water bottle when he was training in the gym.
You’d peel his oranges.
You never noticed how he’d lead on your conversations, watching your cheeky smile as he gave you the name of the intended recipients of his work.
You never noticed how loud your smile was, even if you weren’t facing him in the same room.
You never notice how sometimes he’d purposely avoided being seen by you outside his office so that you’d assume he had been there all day and bring him treats.
You never noticed how he left his water bottle out for easy access.
You never noticed how Soap or Gaz would throw him a confused or knowing look when he grabbed yet another orange, days in a row when he didn’t even really like them that much.
It soon divulged into a game of hide-and-seek tag, really. You’d always do something for him, something small, and he’d always do so in return. He was a lot sneakier about it, managing to turn a lot of your own tricks back on you and never being caught.
“I know what you’re doing.”
He looked up, his face neutral as the pen in his hand stilled. He raised a brow. “And just what am I doing, sergeant?”
A small huff, a cross of your arms. Defiant, playful.
“You’re taking my stuff just so you can say you found it when you return it,” you accuse.
He doesn’t know how he managed to keep a smile off of his face, even if his mask was able to hide it somewhat. He doesn’t know how his voice remains even, either, as he turns to you properly with a long sigh. “Why would I do that?”
“Well-” you splutter, suddenly falling short for a moment. “I wouldn’t know. Seems like you’re going soft.”
“Soft?”
“Yes.”
“In what way?”
Another silence. This time, he can’t keep a smirk from tugging at his lips, his eyes sparkling with mirth. He waited for your response, watching as you shifted uncomfortably. For an amazing and competent soldier out field, you sure were pretty awful at concealing your thoughts and feelings around him.
A shake in your resolve, a sideways glance. Flustered, cute.
Cute?
He couldn’t help but think of all the things you’d done for him over time. At some point, it had become the norm for you and him; helping each other out in tiny ways while never acknowledging them. Small boosts of morale and easiness provided that was eagerly accepted.
Like when he helped you get back to sleep after a particularly restless night filled with waking night terrors and the silent tears that he had learnt to not mention, rather swiping them away without another word. Like when either of you were sure you wouldn’t make it another day, either one of your heads resting on the other’s chest.
There were times where you would text him, his contact given to you purely for basic communication or emergency that quickly descended into the occasional conversation.
03/9/20-- 11:47 Heard you got caught in cross fire. What, bullets don’t phase through ghosts? I’m the one with the jokes love, not you Quit your bitching, old man You picking on the injured now, huh? New low And here I was about to offer to bring you some real food, not hospital food. But I guess I have a new reputation to uphold Not a reputation if only one person knows about it. I can keep secrets I’ll be there in 10 minutes Thanks, love
04/11/20-- 05:23 You up? No Yeah, good one. Slick Glad you think so, sarge. What do you need? Need a fucking coffee, wanted to know if you wanted a tea Are there sticks in the woods? Dunno, would have thought one was up your arse with your sunny attitude yesterday. Milk and sugar, like usual? Yes please
29/11/20-- 18:03 I’m glad you’re going home this time Why, need a break from me? Now that you mention it… But no, just think you deserve some actual time off instead of lurking around here like you always do I lurk. Yes, you lurk. You take your call sign too seriously sometimes I’ll keep that in mind
29/11/20-- 18:07 Did I do something wrong?
He struggled being away from you, he found. He hadn’t realised how much he enjoyed being around you, how much he took the little game for granted. Now, when he lost something, he found himself wishing you were there with him until his keys magically appeared. He missed waiting for the small knock on his door as you walked in with cups in your hands, maybe a paper bag with a muffin or such.
He hadn’t eaten an orange since he went on leave for the holidays.
24/12/20-- 22:58 Happy holidays, Sarge I should have said it earlier, but todays been hectic Not that you really care anymore
24/12/20-- 23:01 I wanted to invite you over for a drink or two, maybe a nice dinner, but thought it would be better for you to spend it with your family Why didn’t you tell me you didn’t have family? I would have spent my holiday with you if you asked I should have asked
24/12/20-- 23:17 I’m sorry
24/12/20-- 23:23 I miss you
24/12/20-- 23:39 What a day to lose your humanity I would have helped you
25/12/20-- 00:01 Merry Christmas, love I miss you I love you, too A Christmas miracle, I guess
Thumbs plunge into tough skin, ripping and tearing. Yet, nothing leaks from the cavity. No, it comes away easily.
A chuckle, the burn of citrus in cuts on his fingers and in his chest. Ire, melancholy.
25/12/20-- 00:06 A Christmas miracle I peeled my own orange
High School Sweetheart. (Ghost x Reader.)
!CW! Make a dentist appointment, this shit is so sweet you’ll get a cavity.
Summary: Ghost and reader are high school sweethearts who cross paths again.
This was a request, you can find the ask here.
Tumblr media
Every day it felt like he was just going through the motions.
Wake up, do what Captain Price asks him to do, go to bed. Sometimes there’s an occasional mission in there. Other than that, that’s all he does. Ghost wonders how the hell he ended up here sometimes. It doesn’t take long for him to remember. He’s lived a shitty life up to this point, and if he’s not killing terrorists, he feels worthless. “We’re welcoming a new recruit, meet outside.” He hears everyone announcing it to each other, everyone filing out the metal exit door. He creeps up behind everyone else, standing in the back.
“Everyone, this is Y/N.” Captain Price announces. He freezes up upon hearing your name. You give a small wave and he recognizes you immediately. What were you doing here? You greet everyone, talking and joking with them. Soap is making small talk with Ghost until you approach. “Hi, I’m Johnny but you can call me Soap.” He reaches his hand out. “This is Ghost.” He nods to Simon. You give him a look of confusion. “What is your first name?” You ask. “Simon. Simon Riley. Long time no see.” He puts his hand out, and you smile. Pulling him into a hug instead. This takes Johnny off guard. He knows Ghost isn’t a hugger. “How d’ya know each other?” Soap asks. “We went to high school together. Used to date.” You laugh. “High school sweethearts ah? Small world.” Soap laughs.
Ghost wasn’t sure how you ended up here. Last time he checked, you were off to work in the medical field and he joined the military. Ghost is the one who broke things off, he knew he couldn’t keep you happy and stay in the military. He never thought he’d ever see you again, especially not like this. “Why don’t you talk to her? I see you staring at her all the time.” Gaz nudges him. Ghost shakes his head. “Not my girl anymore.” Soap chuckles. “That’s gotta sting right? She’s smokin hot.”
“Depends on who broke up with who.” Gaz laughs. Ghost rolls his eyes. “You two are annoying.” Standing up and getting rid of his unfinished meal. He was growing more annoyed by the day. He wishes you hadn’t said anything.
He had to admit, you were pretty skilled. Something he didn’t expect. He wanted to talk to you, he did. But he didn’t know what terms you stood on exactly, so he left it alone. He makes his way into the gym, finding you. You’re taking deep breaths, lifting up the weight you’re holding on the bench press. Ghost decides there’s no better time to approach. “Shouldn’t do it without a spotter.” He mumbles, standing behind you. “Yeah? Maybe I wanted to go out on my own terms.” You smirk, taking another deep breath, arms beginning to shake slightly. He rolls his arms. Crossing his arms. “You know you’re a lot- different than you used to be.” You groan. “Yeah, happens when you get old. You’re different too.” He laughs. “How did you end up in the military anyways?” He asks. “I was a paramedic for a while, switched to an ER Medical Assistant.” You put the weight back up on the rack, taking in a deep breath and sitting up. “Seen a lot of traumatic shit, couldn’t handle it.” He looks at you, confused. “So the military sounded like a better choice?” He asks. “No, I tried to switch to normal jobs. Tried being a cashier, receptionist, vet tech. Hated it all. I had a lot of pent up anger, had no outlet. Talked to a counselor, tried doing other jobs. So I started doing medical in the military. Hated that too, so I just switched to infantry. I see a lot of traumatic shit, but at the end of the night I don’t go home alone. It gives me an outlet.” You shrug. He nods his head. “What did you see that fucked you up so bad?” He asks, following you around through your work out. “There was a few things.” You shrug. “My first day, I had to do an STD draw on a 5 year old girl. Her mom left her in a crack house for a few days, had no idea what happened to her.”
“Maybe she got a hold of a dirty needle.” You shook your head. “No. I tried to explain it away, but you would’ve had to see the way she screamed when the male doctors got too close. I wanted to rip her moms fucking head off when I seen her.” You breathe. He nods his head. “I understand. What else?” He asks. You swallow hard. “Little girl was brought in. Had a brain aneurysm.” You breathe. Your voice was getting unsteady. “She was dead before she got there, but the doctor wanted us to do CPR for the moms sake. I did CPR on her until my whole body hurt, until I couldn’t handle anymore, and than some. That’s not what bothered me though.” He looks at you, look of confusion again. “It’s the way her mom screamed when the doctor told her she didn’t make it. Still haunts me to this day.” Ghost sighs. “Jesus Christ.” He mumbles. “I’m sorry.” You nod your head. “I’m fine. I mean I’m not but I have to be. Life is short, I just like to stay busy.” He nods his head. “What about you LT?” You smile, standing up. “What made you stay?” You ask. He shrugs. “I guess I like to stay busy too.” He shrugs.
“She likes to stay busy? She’s flirting with you, you idiot.” Gaz rolls his eyes. “What? No she wasn’t. She had just got done telling me some really traumatic shit. The hell is wrong with you.” Ghost rolls his eyes. “I’m telling you, if you’re as smart as I pray to god you are, you will get her back, and put that tight ass on lockdown before I do.” Gaz raises his eyebrows. Ghost rolls his eyes once again. “Another meal ruined again.” Ghost rolls his eyes. He decides to go off and find you, not finding you in the gym like he usually would, so he assumes you’re on watch. He’s correct. He makes his way up the watch tower, seeing you sitting at the top inside. “Hey.” He walks in. “Hey. Johnny is supposed to take over for me but not for another hour or so. What’s going on?” You ask. He shrugs, sitting down next to you. “Staying busy.” He’s short. “Ghost huh?” You smile. He nods his head. “You tell them how you got that nickname yet?” You smirk. Even behind the mask you can tell that he’s smiling. “Nah. Not yet. I won’t hear the end of it.” Simon hates this. You knew Simon. You always brought Simon out. Made him smile, made his stomach swirl. “Why’s that?” You ask. “They keep teasing me about letting a girl like you get away.” He laughs. “Ah, everybody makes mistakes. It’s fine that yours was me.” You smirk. He rolls his eyes. “Don’t get too big of a head over there.” You laugh, just like he remembers.
“You’re huge now.” You smile. “Huh?” He laughs. “You were built in high school, sure. But nothing like you are now.” You laugh. “Is… that a good thing?” He asks. “Yeah it’s pretty hot.” He looks up at you, eyebrows raised. “Thanks I guess.”
“Even tough women like to be manhandled, Ghost.” You chuckle. “Remember that for your next girlfriend.” He can sense the jealously in your voice. He slides his phone from his pocket, opening up his text messages. He opens his text chat with Soap, writing out a text.
“Don’t worry about taking over watch, I’m taking over for Y/N.”
“ ;) ”
“Fuck off, MacTavish.”
“ ;))))) ”
He rolls his eyes, sliding his phone in his pocket. “Sound a little jealous to me.” He smirks. You roll your eyes. “Me? Jealous? Really?” You smirk. He nods his head. “Yeah.” You laugh. “You’re ridiculous.” You laugh. “And you’re a liar.” He chuckles.
When the silence takes over once again, he thinks about it for a minute. “I’m sorry.” He mumbles. “For what?” You ask, looking up at him. “For leaving you alone. Making you go through all of that shit alone.” He sighs. You laugh. “I went a little crazy. If we were together you would’ve hated me.” You laugh. “Still, I feel bad.” You smile. “Well. We can always be friends. No sense in regretting something you can’t change.” You shrug. He nods. “Yeah. You know I think you’re a strong girl right?” He laughs. “I think you’re a strong guy too Simon. You don’t give yourself enough credit.” He rolls his eyes, thankful for the balaclava covering his face. His cheeks are too pink to look natural without it. “I’m serious. You did the best you could with the shitty hand you were dealt, and the fact that you’re still doing so good makes me so fucking proud of you.”
Somewhere deep down, passed the barrier he’d put up, those words sting him right to his core. Reopening old wounds he didn’t know he had. “Thank you. I’m proud of you too.” You smile. He can see the pain in your eyes. He knows he’s hurt you. He just hopes somewhere deep down, you’ll be able to forgive him.
Ghost doesn’t always take the time to realize exactly how lucky he is. His eyes scan the table, his captain, Gaz, Soap. They’re all sitting around him laughing at something Soap has said, eating their dinner. It’s the closest thing Simon has ever had to a family, and with you back. You flipped his world upside down. He’s in his head too much anymore, thinking. He’s so guarded, but somehow these kind people gravitate toward him. He just hopes if anyone has to die, he does first. He doesn’t want to suffer anymore.
He’s staring off into space, thinking about you. How you were together when you were younger. He thinks about the first time you had together. First kiss, first time. How nervous he was hovering above you, trying to keep you calm and reassure you. How much you trusted him. He always thinks about how calm he was when you were around. After fighting with his asshole dad, anytime he was stressed out and ready to give up, you were always there. Helping him back onto his feet. The times he couldn’t, you’d sit there. Right at rock bottom with him until he was ready to climb his way back out. You helped him every step of the way, and he left you alone. You did everything. Put your heart into his hands. And he shattered it. Stomped on it until it was nothing but fine grained glass. A powder. And you still picked it up. And placed it right back into his cold hands. Just so that he could throw it in your face and walk away.
He needs to stop before he gets upset. Instead, choosing to think about how beautiful you are. Back then, so carefree. He thinks about those summers you spent together, sun beating down on each other. Swimming together, being in love. Your smile. Your giggle when he said something dumb. He remembers how pretty you were, looking up at the moonlight with tears in your eyes because of something so dumb. A fight, a disagreement. He misses how simple everything was. He thinks about holding your hand, walking up and down the street before either of you could drive. He thinks about the stray kitten you had found and how much he tried to convince you not to take it home, but you did anyways. And he remembered how hard you cried when the cat got too sick to bring home from the vet. He held you close as you said your goodbyes.
He thinks about the time he first put on a skull balaclava and how you gave him the funniest look, narrowed eyes and a smile playing at your lips. “So mysterious. Your new nickname is Ghost.” You smile. And how he pounced you, pushing your back into the silk sheets, tickling you until you nearly cried, laughing so hard. How you pulled his mask up to kiss him, just like Mary Jane and Peter Parker.
He’s walking away from the table before he realizes his feet are taking him to your room. Carrying him even though his brain is somewhere else completely. He doesn’t even knock on your door, barges right in. Thankful you’re half dressed. He closes the door behind him, you look up at him in complete confusion as he closes the distance between the both of you. He’s pulling his mask off and ditching it somewhere in the room. “Simon? What are you do-“ his lips are on yours before you can even finish your sentence, holding onto the nape of your neck with both of his hands as he forces you back into the wall behind you. You melt right into him, and he’s so thankful you don’t push him away. You let him kiss you, body relaxing into his. When he finally pulls away, resting his forehead on yours, you’re panting. Taken off guard by him. “I love you. And I’ll understand if you don’t want to give me another chance. But I won’t fuck up again. I let you get away once, and I won’t again.” He breathes. A laugh leaves your lips, “Simon, I knew I was going to give you another chance the moment I see that fucking mask.” You giggle.
Maybe that stupid metaphor is right.
‘If you love something, let it go. If it comes back, it was meant to be.’
ima need that fucker to survive or i might go feral myself XD
as a request how does the reader react to the boys getting bullied by eachother { we all know that soap and ghost brutally roast eachother}
or
reader being ghosts S/O and bulling soap {lovingly} because ghost is ill for the day and soap gets no peace from a light roasting if si cant bully his gremlin of a girl will
(quick a/n, i almost did have simon die oopsies 🫣)
(p.s; they might mildly be ooc but i like how it turned out. please keep requests coming!!)
when you’d first joined the 141, you had been expecting professionalism. not all the little jabs everyone made to each other. ‘johnny, you’re stomping around like an elephant on stilts, figure it out’ had been the first words you’d heard for hours into the stealth mission.
you’d been taking a sip of water, what good timing, when ghost had made that quip. you’d choked on the water and had to have a silent coughing fit, completely appalled at how the lieutenant spoke.
‘i can hear you huffing from down here, ghost, so don’t start talking’ soap had quipped back. you stared, wide eyed at gaz over all the commotion. he shrugged, peeking around a corner and ducking through.
you heard a huff into the mic, probably from ghost still climbing to his vantage point. ‘i’m surprised no one’s heard us coming, with you yapping like puppies,’ price spoke over the coms. it was quiet then, for a few moments.
‘what’s red, rectangular and flying at your face?’ gaz whispered into the coms. you heard price groan. ‘a brick,’
‘that’s my job, sergeant. leave the shitty jokes to me,’ ghost snapped back. gaz looked at you and have a mocking laugh.
‘that’s my job, sergeant,’ gaz mocked through the coms in a squeaky voice. you stared at gaz, wondering where the audacity came from.
ghost huffed. ‘i don’t sound like that, you prick,’ he said. gaz spun and shot down two people advancing on you, where you’d been trying to collect the data from the computers.
something about plans to destroy major landmarks with nuclear weapons or something, you hadn’t been paying attention. and you could almost blame it on soap trying to play footsie with you.
‘ghost is always whining about something, he just uses that deep voice to hide his true self,’ gaz whispered to you. shaking your head, you pulled the drive out of the computer and stashed it in your vest.
leaving the room, you saw a man get shot across the hall. ‘good shot, ghost,’ gaz said and moved along. running through the halls, you listened to little comments and quips through your earpiece.
‘why do cows wear bells?’ ghost asked through the coms. ‘because their horns don’t work,’ you huffed a laugh.
looking and gaz, you have him an eye roll. ‘hadn’t realized i joined a team full of comedians,’ you said through the coms.
‘don’t worry, there’s more where that came from,’ ghost responded and you groaned.
‘this is the big bad ghost? telling shit dad jokes and bullying his teammates,’
‘it’s not bullying if they do it back,’ you choked back a laugh and ducked around the corner, sweeping for more enemies.
as you came outside, you glanced around for more enemies before following behind gaz. ‘if people think ghost is scary then they haven’t met me,’ soap quipped through the coms.
‘that’s like being scared of a goldfish,’ price finally spoke back up. you heaved an almost disappointed sigh.
when you’d gotten to an exfil point with gaz, you looked at soap, ghost and price. from here, you thought they’d be talking professionally, about how the mission had gone. as you drew closer, you realized it wasn’t.
‘hey,’ soap called your name. ‘settle this for us,’ you sighed heavily, staring blankly at him. ‘are there more doors or more wheels in the world?’ jesus fucking christ, you were on a team with children.
you looked around at the three. ‘how are you allowed to carry guns?’
Broken Road Simon 'Ghost' Riley x Female Reader
Warning: Angst, Violence, Fluff, Language
Ghost was about to interrupt your conversation with Soap when your words had him stopping dead in his tracks. "Who could love anyone so broken, Johnny?" You ask rhetorically. Ghost quickly turns and leaves before either of you can see him. "He's been through enough. He deserves someone better than me." You tell him. "He's crazy about you, but the grumpy bastard won't admit it. I think you're perfect for each other, lass." He says. You're not convinced. "Just keep spending time with him, you'll see." Soap says.
Later that night in the mess hall, you take a seat with Soap and Gaz. "Where's Ghost?" You ask after realizing he isn't joining. "Eating in his dorm, said something about paperwork." Gaz answers as you all finish eating. You saved your brownie knowing their one of Ghosts favorites. You made your way towards his dorm, gently knocking. Moments later, it cracks open, hiding most of Ghost, "What?" He asks, sounding annoyed. "Gaz said you were doing paperwork, so I brought you a brownie. I know how much you hate paperwork." You say, stopping yourself before you can ramble.
"Si, come back to bed." A female voice calls. Your face falls as realization hits you. "This was stupid. Sorry for interrupting." You mumble before turning and walking away. You hear Ghost shut the door, and your heart shatters. Halfway back to your dorm, you can't keep your composure as you bump into Soap. He takes you to his dorm, which is closer. "Tell me what happened, lass." He says as he hands you a box of tissues. Once your tears have slowed, you're finally able to tell Soap.
"He's with a girl. I went to take him the brownie, and she told him to come back to bed." You say as the tears return full force. "I'm going to kill him!" Soap says angrily. "Don't. Just let it go." You say between sobs. He wraps his arms around you. "Fine, I won't kill him. I'll just kick his ass extra hard during training tomorrow." Soap says, making you smile. Soap has become like a brother to you since you joined the task force. He comforted you for the next hour before you decided to go back to your own dorm.
The next morning, the hurt had been replaced with anger, and you hardened your heart against Ghost. You got dressed in your training joggers and one of Soap's shirts he had left behind that you'd normally use as a sleep shirt. You threw your hair up in a ponytail before making your way towards the training area. You started making small talk with some of the recruits when an incessant giggling caught your attention, followed by the female voice from last night. She was recounting her escapades with Ghost. The anger inside you simmering towards a boil.
Thankfully, Soap came along to distract you. "Are you trying to get me in trouble?" He teases as he steps beside you. "You don't like it?" You tease. "I didn't think you'd wear it outside your dorm, but I approve of your tactic." He says with a laugh. "I woke up and chose violence." You say with a laugh of your own. "We'll if you wanted to piss him off, it's working." Soap says, seeing Ghost glare at you in another man's shirt. "It's the least I could do." You say before hearing an angry Ghost get started with training.
Towards the end, Ghost paired everyone up for hand to hand combat training. Of course, he paired you with the recuit he spent the night with. He and Soap went over the moves and instructions before walking around and observing, offering criticism and corrections. "Could you be more pathetic?" She asks, catching you off guard. "Excuse you?!" You grit your teeth as the anger starts building. "I brought you a brownie. I know how much you hate paperwork." She says in a mocking tone.
"Why would he want someone like you when he could have a real woman like me." She sneers. "I'm surprised he fucked you, with how much he hates paperwork, he'll be filling out a lot of it when he has to get tested for STDs. Who knows what nastiness your cunt is breeding." You say with a smirk before continuing, "haven't you fucked your way through at least half the task force? Sweetie you're nothing but a barracks bunny playing dress up." Her face sours as she tries to punch you. Within seconds a fight has broken out between the two of you. You land a punch to her nose breaking it as blood pours down her face.
Moments later, you're pulled off of her by Soap as Ghost grabs ahold of the other recruit who is holding her nose. "Take her to medical." He instructs Soap before staring at you. You cross your arms over your chest and glare back at him. "Everyone clear out!" Ghost orders placing a hand on your shoulder to stop you, "not you." You roll your eyes and wait for the others to leave. Once the last recruit leaves and the door shuts, Ghost turns his full attention to you. "I should have you transferred for that little stunt." He shouts. "Do it! I was going to ask for a transfer anyway! With you're support I'll be gone by the end of the week." You smirk.
"Why were you going to ask for a transfer?" Ghost says surpringly quiet. "It doesn't matter." You answer, still angry. "Yes, it does." Ghost replies. "No, it doesn't! You don't even care." You say with venom lacing your voice, "you never cared." You see anger on Ghost's face, "You don't get to tell me I don't care! Not after your little conversation with Soap yesterday after training. Your eyes widen in panic. "That's right, I heard enough to get the hint." He says angrily. "Ghost, I didn't mean...." You start, but he cuts you off, "Save it. I'll talk to Price about your transfer. Better start packing." He says before turning and storming out.
You made it back to your dorm and locked it before curling up on the bed and burying yourself under the blankets. You lay there numbly, wondering how it all fell apart. A knock on the door pulls you from your thoughts, but you ignore it. Soon, the knocking becomes louder. "I know you're in there, I brought you food." Soap says through the door. He knocks again, "Come on, y/n. Please let me in." He says, almost breaking your resolve. You hear the tray being sat on the floor, "foods out here if you want it. I even snagged you an extra cookie." He tries one last time before walking away.
You open the door once you're sure he's gone and grab the two cookies before locking your door again. You crawl back in bed and stare at the wall. You start thinking about how you'll miss Soap, Gaz, and Price once you're transferred. Your mind turns to Ghost, and your heart aches. You try to push him from your mind, but he keeps coming back until you eventually fall asleep. Tossing and turning as you relive yesterday and todays events.
Meanwhile, Soap tracks down Ghost cleaning up the training room. "Hey, asshole!" Soap says before punching Ghost in the face. "What the fuck, Soap!" Ghost shouts as he recovers. "You tell me, what happened between you and y/n?!" Ghost rolls his eyes. "Leave it alone, Soap." Soap tenses, "No, tell me what happened!" Ghost shoves him, "You know what happened! She said it herself, I'm too broken for anyone to love!" Ghost says angrily. "You idiot! She was talking about herself! She thinks you deserve better than her and that you've been through enough!"
"Fuck!" Ghost says as he realizes how badly he fucked up. "She's got it backwards though, she deserves better than you, especially after that shit you pulled!" Soap says. "I should beat the shit out of you for managing to destroy her in less than 24 hours." Soap threatens. "I have to fix this." Ghost says. "What makes you think you can fix this?!" Soap asks. "I don't know but I have to try!" Ghost states. "If you're not committed to her 100% then you need to let her go. She's been through enough without you adding to it." Soap says.
Unable to stay asleep, you took the tray back to the mess hall after scraping the food into the trash. Once you returned the tray, you made your way towards Price's office. You saw the light under the door so you knew he was in there. After knocking, he called for you to enter. He motioned for you to take a seat. "As per your email, I've put out feelers, and you have your choice between Kortac and Shadows." Price says, not bothering with small talk. "Shadows are out because I don't trust Graves. Kortac would be great." You're cut off by the door slamming open and Ghost storming in.
"You can't transfer y/n!" He shouts. "WE were just discussing that matter, She's decided to transfer to Kortac." Price says. Ghost acknowledges you for the first time since barging in, "You're not transferring!" He shouts. "Lower your voice, Ghost." Price warns. "We have unfinished business." Ghost says, keeping his attention on you. "No, we don't. You made that clear after training. How is what's her name anyway?" You say sarcastically before turning back to price and asking, "When can I leave?" Price shuffles your transfer papers on the desk, "about 2-3 days, as soon as paperwork is in order." "Thank you, sir." You say before leaving his office only to have Ghost on your heels.
"You're not transferring!" He says as he runs ahead of you to block your door. "I'd better start packing." You say, throwing his own words back in his face. "You're not packing because you're not leaving, not until you hear me out." He says. "There's nothing to hear you out about. You made everything clear as to how you feel." You say as your lip starts to quiver. You hate that he is having this effect on you. You see the pain flash across his face. "I know you hate me right now, and I know I've ruined everything, but I want to make it right. I love you." He says the last part so quietly you almost don't hear it.
You almost break at how vulnerable Ghost looks in front of you. He still stands taller than you but seems smaller somehow. You resist the urge to comfort him when you know he doesn't deserve it, especially from you. "Please, just let me try to fix the damage I've caused between us." He practically pleads. "Ghost, give me time." You say softly. He gives you a nod and reluctantly moves from in front of your door. He watches the door close behind you, hoping you'll give him a chance.
Once you're inside, you lay in bed, feeling more confused than before. You toss and turn all night, not being able to sleep as your mind keeps drifting back to Ghost telling you he loves you. Once morning comes, you skip breakfast. You don't want to get out of bed. The knock you've been expecting finally comes. "It's open." You call hearing your door open, and a tray sat on your desk before hearing the door close. "I'm not hungry, Soap." You say, not moving to look at him. You're only met with silence. "If you think giving me the silent treatment will make me move, you're wrong." You say.
More silence. "Suit yourself." You say before ignoring him. After several moments you turn over to discover your alone. Confused you pull out your phone and text Soap.
Y/n: Are you training early?
Soap: No, did you want to?
Y/n: No. I was wondering why you dropped off breakfast and left.
Soap: I didn't drop off breakfast.
Y/n: Well someone left me breakfast.
Soap: 💀
You look at the tray and see it's loaded with sweets and a glass of milk. You can't help your small smile that maybe Ghost did bring you breakfast. You ate a few of the sweets along with drinking the milk before deciding to save the rest for later. You change into a pair of shorts and johnny's shirt again and make your way towards the training room. "Ghost!" You shout as you burst through the doors. "I challege you to a sparring match, you win I go out with you. I win you, let me transfer to Kortac!" You say confidently as he turns his attention towards you. "Deal!" He says with a smirk.
"Are you sure about this?" Soap asks. "Never been more sure." You say confidently. "You two going to spend all morning talking or what?" You step onto the mat, "someone is eager to lose." You tease. "Not on your life." He says. The two of you start circling, waiting to make your move. Ghost moves first with a strike you easily block and counter. "You always were impatient." You taunt as you nake your move. He grabs you and flips you to the mat. "You're always reckless." He says as his pins you. You stuggle for a few minutes before you flip him over pin him. You hold on tightly as he resists. Once he breaks free, he creates some space.
"You're not scared, are you?" You ask, feigning innocence. "It's you who should be scared. I can't wait to take you out." He says wolfishly. "You haven't won yet." You remind him. "Oh, but I have." He says watching you. You let his words have their desired effect as you charge him and knock him to the mat. You strike his side and chest as he blocks his face. He lays there and lets you take out all your anger on him until you're crying. He wraps his arms around you and holds you against him. "That's it. Let it out." He says softly while stroking your hair. "I hate you for sleeping with her." You manage to say. "I hate me too, love.
"Hate me as much as you need to because I deserve it, but please let me love you, and maybe you'll fall back in love with me." He says as he rests his head on top of yours. Your fist holds his shirt tighter as you soak it with your tears. He carefully stands with you before carrying you to his dorm. He sits on his bed with you in his lap. "Take these." He says, handing you two pills and a glass of water. You take them without hesitation. "They'll help with your headache." He says softly. "But I don't have one." You argue. "Not yet, but you will from all your emotions.
He lays down with you curled up against him as he refuses to let you go. "Get some rest." He says as he pulls the blanket over both of you. "You had better have cleaned your bedding." You threaten as your eyes get heavy. "Brand new bedding, love. I burnt the old." He says. "Good boy." You mumble half asleep. "Sweet dreams, love." He says before kissing your forehead. "Sweet dreams." You whisper quietly. He holds you as he strokes your back til your breath evens out, signaling you're asleep. "I promise to right every wrong, love." He whispers before falling asleep beside you.
Promise (Simon “Ghost” Riley x f!reader)
Summary: You and Ghost go on your first date.
Note: Part 2 of the Osprey series. Part 1.
Warnings: reader mentioning that she ate a beef burger once at that place.
Tumblr media
This was a first for him. The very first proper date Ghost had ever attended, one where sex wasn’t the only outcome he hoped for. Strangely, and despite working with you for months, he wanted to take his time getting to know you since he knew nothing about you. Every little detail, every story, every quirk interested him, so his main plan was listening to you without making a fool of himself.
You apparently mentioned the date to Johnny, who in return blew up his phone with messages. You like this. You don’t like that. And it wasn’t just him. That idiot probably told Gaz as well, because the other sergeant kept sending him an equal amount of memes and useful tips. Those two clearly conspired against him, and he was honestly waiting for Price to join the party.
On the afternoon of your first official date, Ghost stood in front of the mirror and tried to decide if the clothes he chose would be good enough for you. He wondered what your expectations were. What if he wasn’t your type? After all, you had never seen his face. With each passing second he became more unsure of this. He should cancel it. Yes, he should do just that.
Right on cue, his phone beeped again.
Johnny: Hey, L.T., if you think about canceling even for one second, just look at this.
With a deep frown he checked the picture he received. It was a screenshot of the conversation between you and Johnny. You were panicking, afraid he would think you’re an airhead, or that he would hate your sense of humor. The sergeant tried to calm you down, asking if you liked him.
You: I do. A lot. I think I just scared myself. Sorry.
A smile appeared on his lips as he read your words. At least he wasn’t the only one who was falling apart. But where was this you on the field? He had never seen you hesitate or question yourself. Not like he was any different, but he blamed it all on his fucked up childhood.
Two hours later he was sitting in his car outside the house you lived in, anxiously tapping his fingers on the steering wheel. It was just a date. He had no reason to be this nervous. You watch the movie you talked an awful lot about during the last mission, then you would probably go for a walk or grab something to eat. How bad could things get?
A playful knock on the window caught his attention. It was you, although he had no idea where the hell you came from. He smiled at you and signaled to get in. You took the seat next to him then looked at him with this gorgeous smile that made him want to kiss you.
“Gotta say, it’s a shame you hide this face behind a stupid mask,” you told him, making him blush right at the start.
Excellent.
Before he could respond, though, you leaned over and gave him a kiss. It was strange and unexpected, but it was oh-so-good. Your lips were soft, and he could taste the tea you probably drank before coming down to meet him when his tongue slid over your lower lip, and this whole sensation was slowly sending his brain into overdrive.
Why? Why did you kiss him? It was so weird, right at the beginning of your first date. Or was this normal on proper dates? He honestly didn’t know and you made him way too confused.
“What was that for?” he asked when you finally leaned back into your seat.
With a sweet smile you looked at him through your lashes. “I always wanted to do that,” you replied almost timidly. “But sorry if I–”
Ghost was quick to interrupt you with another quick kiss on your lips. “That’s okay. I’ve been thinking about this for a while now too,” he said with a cheeky grin.
You blushed. He felt a sudden wave of relief wash over him as he realized that maybe things would be less awkward than he expected. Johnny had been right, you were visibly nervous despite initiating that kiss, but by now he was confident enough to even things out. All he had to do was take the lead and let you ease into this date.
Ghost asked if you would be okay with his plan for the night, but to his surprise you said you would rather just talk over a drink. You even suggested a place nearby and said he should leave the car there at your place since it was such nice weather for an evening walk.
There was no need to object, he actually liked the idea of talking about anything that came to your minds while nursing a drink. So once you were out of the car, he took the opportunity to take your hand, wrapping his massive fingers around yours tightly to make sure you didn’t leave his side.
At one point you began to talk, telling him funny stories about an idiot from the neighborhood. Ghost was a great listener. He paid attention, sometimes gave you some feedback, and he was watching you with this dreamy smile on his lips. You were so different from the women he usually met that it was hard to think of anything but the aching need to have you in his bed by the end of this date.
But no. He didn’t want to ruin this experience, he wanted to do this right. Spend the evening together, maybe share a kiss when he took you home, then go home and take a cold shower. The first date should be about getting to know each other.
At the same time, though, he had two little devils on his shoulder–called Johnny and Gaz–who were telling him to go with the flow and sleep with you if that’s what you wanted. “Even if it happens,” they said, “you can always go on a second date. It doesn’t mean anything.”
“By the way,” you said after pointing out you were almost there at the pub, “they have some killer dishes. Their beef burger is heavenly.”
“Is that so?” You nodded with a wide smile. “Well, I could eat,” he said before pulling up your hand and kissing the back of it.
Things were surprisingly easy with you. He wondered if that was because the two of you had been working on the field together for months, probably building a level of trust that many didn’t have. By now you seemed to be at ease too, showing him your bubbly side that he found truly adorable.
Ghost returned with the second round of drinks and slid into the circular booth next to you, his arm automatically moving to your shoulder to pull your body closer to his. You didn’t seem to mind as you leaned your head against his shoulder after placing a soft kiss on the exposed skin on his neck.
You both placed your phones on the table, but he was quick to put it back into his pocket because it kept buzzing to notify him about new messages. They were from Johnny and Gaz, the two who were continuously asking him to send an update or a photo of the two of you together. He groaned as he slid the device away, but it didn’t go unnoticed by you.
“What’s wrong? Do you need to leave?” you asked with a hint of disappointment in your voice.
“No, it’s just Johnny and Gaz. They want to know how the date’s going.”
For a few moments you just stared ahead, then all of a sudden you picked up your phone and opened the camera app. “Come on, let’s send them a picture,” you suggested with a happy smile as you looked up at him.
Nodding, he leaned closer to you and even kissed your head when you took the photo. He watched as you opened a messaging app and started a group chat with the sergeants and him, then you looked for the photo on your phone to send it.
“You sure about this? If you send them the picture, they won’t shut up,” he pointed out.
But you looked confident as you nodded. “We’ll ignore them. Or we can tease them. That would be fun too.”
Ghost couldn’t hold back a laugh. “Messing with them? That sounds good, but I’d rather focus on you now,” he replied while he gently grabbed your chin and made you look at him so he could kiss you.
You put a hand on his arm as you deepened the kiss, getting so lost in the sensation that you both forgot you were in a public place. When out of the corner of his eye he noticed some people staring, Ghost pulled away and cleared his throat. A part of him still found it hard to believe things were this good between you right away, but another part accepted it and wanted more.
“Why don’t we go back to my place?” you asked quietly.
“I dont want to rush things with you,” he admitted as he stroked your cheek with his thumb. “Let’s take our time, okay? I’m not going anywhere.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
