Dpxdc AU: Damian decides that it’s time to go collect his brother from his assignment. Danny is starting to sniff out some non-ghostly bullshit for once.
Damian knew his twin had been exiled from the age of seven, banished to travel and observe how scientists around the world engaged with Lazarus water. The only word that Damian received that his spare was still alive were the letters of lab reports and findings that were sent back to base. As the Heir, he’s pushed to be better lest he himself be exiled or simply executed. Danny becomes a fleeting thought and then once Damian arrived in Gotham, a none existent thought.
They weren’t raised to be friends or even friendly. The were not taught codependency or allotted time to bond. The could have been perfect strangers if not for their appearance and the stories of Danny’s shortcomings becoming Damian’s praise.
It’s only once Tim informs him of an intercepted letter, one sent and saved from years prior, that Damian recalls Danny enough to care. Tim prompts him to share more, especially given the coup recently committed by Deathstroke (Slade) and Talia gone into hiding with her zealots.
At family dinner that night Damian supplies: “I suppose I should be the one to bereave my twin of his assignment. His reports will certainly go unread.”
Chaos in the Batfam ensues- meanwhile across the country- Danny sneezes and finishes writing his yearly report: “No major discoveries aside from public record patents (attached), No assistance required. -Spare”. He doesn’t know why he bothers, he hasn’t received any contact from his mother or grandfather since he was 10ish and certainly hasnt thought about his twin. But, if there’s a chance (even an itty bitty one) that his reports are being read and are holding off his reassignment, he’d rather keep assassins out of Amity Park.
Little does he know that this letter is about to be intercepted by Pru, former assassin and friend of Tim Drake. He hadn’t expected his twin to suddenly arrive and tell him that his job was done. And certainly, seeing a plane filled with an uncomfortable looking ‘family’ that requested he join them and get to know Gotham and his birth father, was not on his bingo list.
Danny does his best to let them down gently- and they seem to be accepting that he’s acclimated to this weird little town and will leave him be- when Danny suddenly has to transform into Phantom in front of them to handle a rocket sent by Skulker.
They are less willing to accept his appeal to be left alone after that… Damian is trying to “bond” with him and all the others are trying to “help” in their own way.
Sam and Tucker howl with laughter at Danny’s suddenly very large family- all while secretly working with the Wayne’s to get Danny the fuck away from the Fentons before the scientists do something they can’t undo.

Halloween prompts year 2 day 12
Danny moves to Gotham for college, much to Jazzs horror. To be fair he got a good scholarship that payed for his entire tuition and 80% of his living expenses. He was still on his own for a lot of stuff like clothing, furniture and text books.
So Danny, being the son of mad scientists who sell thier inventions, begins making mad scientists things like shrink rays and cryo guns whatnot for domestic use and selling them to the general public. His parents are so proud when they hear and Danny is doing everything he can to stay on the legal side of things.
Half the bats are convinced hes evil and the other half are browsing his online store (actually tim is doing that regardless of which side he's on) and buying stuff.
Danny wasn't making much at first but after people found out they were legit and were safe to use and have built in things to prevent them from harming people, they began selling out fast. All of them are too weak to be used as weapons but can be used for things like instant ice cubes, shrinking/growing furniture for moving or just making it more comfortable, ect.
Aka Danny becomes gothams Domestic Mad Scientist

Growing Pains
Mountain does his best to welcome Phantom as he transitions to life in the ministry. It’s not easy though. The touched starved newbie is having trouble settling in, afraid to ask for comfort and physical affection.
Characters: Phantom, Mountain
Word Count: 4,110
Rating: General Audiences, SFW
Tags: fluff and a little bit of angst, domestic fluff, cuddles, Phantom is a sleepy little guy
Below the cut or on AO3
“Hmm? Oh hey Bug.” Mountain lowers his book to see Phantom standing in the common room doorway.
The new summon looks around the room nervously. Only when he sees that the room is empty, except for Mountain, does he relax a little. “Hey Mount. Mind if I sit with you?”
“Not at all.” Mountain pats the couch cushion next to him invitingly.
“Thanks.” Phantom slips over and perches on the far edge of the couch. He leaves a significant gap between him and Mountain.
The earth ghoul doesn’t mind, just returns to his book and Phantom settles down.
They sit like that for a while. A comfortable silence only broken by the turning of pages. And soft snoring.
Mountain glances over to see Phantom fast asleep. He’s curled into a tight ball, his arms and tail wrapped around his legs, knees pressed to his chest. He lays his head on the armrest.
Mountain just shakes his head and smiles.
This isn't the first time this has happened. Several times before, Phantom has sought out Mountain when he’s on his own. He then generally proceeds to fall right to sleep, curled up in a corner. Sometimes Mountain is in the common room like now. Sometimes he’s out in the green house, sometimes in the library.
Phantom seems to be integrating well. Everybody adores him. He’s sweet, friendly, and energetic. He’s a whiz at guitar and has been advancing fast.
Mountain has noticed another side to him though. Although he masks it well, Phantom gets easily overwhelmed by highly social settings.
He can mesh incredibly well with the rest of the pack. He’s joined in on movie nights, playing video games with Dew and Swiss, baking with Sunny and Aurora. He even let Cumulus paint his nails.
However, as soon as that activity or moment is over, Phantom quickly becomes scarce. The pack usually finds him hours later, napping in some quiet nook or cranny.
As a result, Mountain is happy that Phantom feels comfortable around him. He never asks or pushes. Just provides a quiet presence that seems to make Phantom feel at ease.
Mountain does his best to wait until Phantom wakes again, not wanting to leave him to wake up on his own. Sometimes he gets pulled away by chores or someone needing something. Fortunately today he’s left alone to read and watch over the sleeping ghoul.
When Phantom finally does stir, he quietly gets up and waves goodbye. Then he wanders off to rejoin the rest of the pack as if he’d been there all day.
Mountain just throws out a soft, “see you later”, as Phantom slips out the door.
-----
A few days later, Mountain is laying out on the lawn. It’s a gorgeous spring day; slightly chilly still in the shade, but delightfully warm in the sun spots.
He’d flopped down onto the soft grass after tending to his plants in the green house. Before he knew it, he’d fallen asleep. He wakes sometime later to feel someone nestled up beside him.
Mountain raises his head from the grass to see a fluffy mop of black hair, intersected by a white stripe, pillowed in the crook of his arm. Phantom sleeps blissfully, eyes closed and a slight smile on his lips. Mountain doesn’t remember Phantom coming over and figures the young ghoul must have shown up after he’d fallen asleep.
Mountain can’t resist the urge to reach over with his free hand and gently brush Phantom’s hair out of his face. He swears the quint leans into his hand, though he doesn’t open his eyes. Encouraged, Mountain begins to run his claws down Phantom’s scalp, lightly scratching back and forth. This time, Phantom’s movement is unmistakable as he rolls over slightly.
Mountain curses, figuring he’s about to wake up. Instead, Phantom only scooches in closer, pressing into his side. Mountain sighs in relief and continues combing through Phantom’s hair.
They stay curled up like that for a while. It was late afternoon when Mountain first laid down; it’s got to be early evening by this point. The sun hovers on the far western side of the sky, painting the heavens pink and orange.
As much as Mountain hates to risk disturbing the sleeping quintessence ghoul, he doesn’t want to sleep out here all night. Nor does he intend to leave Phantom out here to wake up alone.
As gently as possible, Mountain eases out from underneath Phantom, and sits up. He admires the sleeping ghoul. Although he normally sleeps balled up, now he’s stretched out in an effort to make as much physical contact with Mountain as possible.
Phantom whimpers softly at the loss of warmth and begins to knead the air like he's looking for the earth ghoul even in his sleep. Mountain redoubles his efforts to bring Phantom inside with him. He slides his palms under Phantom’s back and legs and carefully scoops him up into his arms. When he stands, the sleeping ghoul doesn’t stir. Only nestles his face into Mountain’s chest.
Mountain carries Phantom all the way up the hill and into the Ministry. He awkwardly leans down to grasp the door handle and pull it open, then catches the door with his foot. Once he successfully maneuvers inside, sideways so as to not bump the doorframe, he makes his way to the ghoul wing.
The common room is empty so Mountain settles Phantom down on the couch in his favorite spot, before sitting down next to him. He resumes petting Phantom's head until the young ghoul finally begins to wake on his own.
His violet and milky white eyes blink open and then squint in confusion as he looks around him.
“Have a good nap?” Mountain asks kindly. “I didn’t think you wanted to sleep outside all night so I brought you inside. I hope that’s okay.”
Phantom ducks his head in embarrassment but says sincerely, “Yeah. Thanks Mount. What time is it?”
“About seven-forty.”
“Shit. I didn’t mean to sleep that long. Have you eaten yet?”
“Not yet. If you’re hungry we can go ahead and head over. There should still be some food left.”
“Okay.”
The pair head over to the kitchens, Phantom pressed up to Mountain’s side the whole way. Only once they enter do they separate.
After grabbing food, they meet up with the rest of the pack and eat together. Mountain watches Phantom all the while. Phantom integrates as well as he always does. Laughing and smiling, joining in on telling stories and light rough housing. Underneath it all though, Phantom’s fatigue is just barely masked.
After they’ve all eaten, Aether proposes a movie night. Mountain barely catches Phantom’s frown before his amicable smile slips back into place and he adds his own movie suggestions to the fray. Everyone crowds into the common room and starts to settle in. Before things can get started however, Mountain excuses himself.
“Sorry guys. I’m really wiped tonight. I’ll catch the next one.”
The others tease gently about Mountain’s early bedtime but otherwise bid him goodnight.
Before stepping out into the hall, Mountain catches Phantom’s gaze.
The ghoul is nestled in one of the arm chairs, a smile on his face but the lashing of his tail betraying his discomfort.
Mountain tips his head towards the hall before raising his brow.
Phantom nods pleadingly.
Mountain smiles, makes a beckoning motion, and then heads to his room. Making sure to prop the door open, he settles down on his bed. He doesn’t have to wait long before Phantom pokes his black and white striped mane in.
“Is it okay if I sleep in here with you tonight.” He asks, as if Mountain hadn’t already offered to let him do just that.
“Of course Bug. My door’s always open.”
“Okay.” He chirps, hopping up on the bed and making himself comfortable. Rather than curl into a ball at the far side of the bed, Phantom snuggles up right against Mountain.
Mountain chuffs. “Well aren’t you a cuddle bug.” He pulls his blankets up over them both before wrapping his arms around the quintessence ghoul. “Comfy? Warm enough?”
“Yeah.” Phantom sighs happily.
“Lamp on or off?”
“On if you don’t mind.”
“Not at all.”
“Thanks. Night Mount.”
“Sweet dreams Bug.”
-----
When Mountain wakes in the morning, he’s surprised to see Phantom already awake. Sometime in the night, Phantom had snuggled even closer, resting his head on Mountain’s chest.
“Good morning.” Mountain says between yawns. “Sleep well?”
Phantom looks up and hums lazily. “Yeah.”
Mountain nuzzles his forehead. “Good.” He’d be perfectly content to lay here all morning, letting Phantom use him as a pillow, but somewhere across the abbey, bells begin to chime. Mountain humphs quietly at the reminder that they really should be getting up for Mass.
It’s Phantom who disentangles himself first. “I guess we should get going.”
Mountain reluctantly nods his head. “Right behind you.”
The two separate, Phantom running to his own room to change into his uniform. When Mountain sees him again in the chapel, Phantom is back to mingling with the others exuberantly.
Mountain watches Phantom from afar all day. He expects the quintessence ghoul to need to retreat to nap at some point and he wants to be ready to provide that comforting space.
Instead, Phantom seems even more lively than usual. He’s already spritely and energetic most days. However today, Mountain realizes; Phantom lacks the underlying fatigue that normally tempers his energy. He seems so at home, laughing and chatting with everyone.
Mountain is glad to see it, happy that his pack mate is feeling rested and not hindered by exhaustion. Mountain is sure he hasn’t seen Phantom this cheery in all of his short time at the abbey.
That night, when the ghouls gather for game night in the common room, Phantom still is going strong. He’s playing a lively game monopoly with Dew, Rain and Swiss. The ghoulettes are doing a puzzle and Mountain is playing Uno with Aether.
Mountain means at some point to ask the young ghoul if he wants to sleep with him again tonight, but he gets distracted when Rain plants himself in his lap.
“Hey Rainy? What's up?” Mountain looks down from his hand of Uno cards to the ghoul in his lap.
“I went bankrupt.” He pouts before turning to Aether. “Things aren’t going well for Dew. The board is gonna get flipped soon.”
Aether chuffs. “Haha okay.”
Mountain and Aether resume their game and manage to get a few more turns in before shouting and laughing come from the corner of the room. Sure enough, the game board, little houses, cards, and player tokens go flying, and a grumpy fire ghoul comes stomping over.
“C’mere Firefly.” Aether waves, tossing down his cards. Sorry Mount. Guess I’m done for now.
“It’s fine.” Mountain smiles, dropping his own cards. “Now I can do this.” He lowers his hands around Rain’s waist and proceeds to tickle him.
“Hey! Stop it-haha!”
“That’s what you get for sticking your tail up my shirt, you little shit.” Mountain laughs. Before the game had been interrupted, Rain had been teasing Mountain with his tail, sneaking the spade under the hem of his shirt and running over his chest.
Distracted by the impromptu wrestling match with Rain, Mountain misses as Phantom slips by and disappears down the hall.
-----
Mountain ends up spending the night with Rain; their tickle fight turning less than innocent, before they both fall to sleep exhausted. Only at breakfast the next morning does Mountain realize he forgot to check on the young quintessence ghoul. He winces as he sees Phantom.
He’s seated at the ghoul’s kitchen table. He’s making conversation and laughing, but his fatigue is back. His posture is slouched and he has the beginnings of dark circles under his eyes. He keeps having to fight to stifle yawns. When he notices Mountain’s eyes on him, he waves cheerfully but Mountain can’t help but feel bad.
Mountain sits across from him, the seats either side of Phantom occupied by Swiss and Aether. Rain settles in next to Mountain, leaning into his side. When Mountain doesn’t reciprocate with an arm around him or a purr, Rain looks up and paws at the earth ghoul’s shoulder.
“What’s wrong?” He mouths.
“Bug.” Mountain whispers back.
Rain glances over at the quintessence ghoul then back to Mountain with a concerned expression.
“Is he sick? He doesn’t look well.”
Mountain considers how to explain the pattern he’s noticed with Phantom’s napping habits when he’s interrupted by Cumulus announcing that the pancakes are ready. He has to wait until after breakfast before he’s able to pull Rain aside in the hallway.
“So what’s wrong with Ant?” Rain asked worriedly. Over breakfast, he’d picked up on the fatigue plaguing the quint ghoul.
“I don’t think he’s getting enough sleep.” Mountain explains. “You know how he’s constantly napping?”
Rain nods. “Yeah, I found him asleep in the practice room storage closet once. He said he was looking for spare guitar strings but then he didn’t come back for like half an hour. I found him curled up in the back corner, out cold.”
“He’s always falling asleep during the day, and in the oddest places. Whenever we go looking for him, he’s never in his room.” That was indeed the case. After about the first week of Phantom’s time at the abbey, everyone gave up checking his room when looking for him. He was simply never there during the day.
“Do you think he’s not adjusting alright? He hasn’t said anything but he’s shy and pretty new so he might not feel able to speak up for himself”
Mountain hums thoughtfully. “I think you’re onto something.”
“So what do we do?”
“We help him whatever way we can. I’m going to go check on him and see if I can get him to open up and tell me what’s wrong.”
“Okay. I’ll let the other’s know and see if they’ve noticed anything. I think I saw Ant slip away after breakfast so you might have your work cut out for you finding him.”
“Alright. I’d better get started then.”
The two ghouls split, going about their respective tasks. Mountain can hear Rain heading into the common room and talking to the others. The earth ghoul heads away from the noise and begins to sweep every quiet nook and cranny of the ghoul wing. When he doesn’t find the quint, Mountain widens the search radius to the rest of the abbey buildings and finally the outer grounds. It takes the rest of the morning and into the afternoon, but he eventually finds him. Phantom has wedged himself under a work table in the green house.
The ghoul is sitting in his normal sleeping position, knees pressed to his chest and arms and tail wrapped around himself. Mountain expects to find him asleep but instead he’s wide awake. And crying. His bunched up frame shakes as he sobs.
“Oh Bug.” Mountain coos. “What’s wrong?”
Phantom startles, his head jolting up before cracking into the underside of the table. Whimpers of pain add to his sobs as he scrunches up tighter, rubbing his head.
“Satanas.” Mountain grumbles at causing the ghoul more pain, even if it was accidental. He sinks down to his knees so he’s level with the crying ghoul and tries again. “I’m sorry I startled you. Is there anything I can do to help?”
Phantom slowly raises his head. His eyes are red from crying and his cheeks tear stained. Without a word, he shuffles out from under the table and presses himself up against Mountain’s side.
“Hey love.” He purrs. “Need a hug?” Mountain has barely opened his arms before Phantom is crawling into his lap. He presses his face into the earth ghoul’s chest.
“It’s okay, Bug. Let it out.” Mountain rubs his back and scratches gently at his scalp. “I’m here.”
Phantom’s sobs slowly begin to ebb. His tense frame relaxes and his breaths become slower and deeper. Mountain looks down and realizes that the young ghoul, worn out from fatigue and crying, is fast asleep.
Like he did a couple nights before, Mountain gently carries Phantom back to the abbey, this time opting to bring him to his room. He settles the sleeping ghoul on his bed and curls in next to him. Once Phantom is settled he sends a text to Rain.
Mountain: Found him. Bug was in the green house. Brought him to my room.
Rain: Okay, on my way over.
Rain knocks a few minutes later.
“Come in.” Mountain calls softly.
Rain enters and carefully shuts the door behind him. “How is he?” He whispers.
Mountain gestures down at the sleeping ghoul in his arms. “Better now I think.”
Rain nods before coming over to the bed. As carefully as possible, he slides under the covers and curls up to spoon Phantom’s back. The two of them hold the quintessence ghoul, as they speak in hushed tones. Mountain tells Rain about how he found Phantom in the greenhouse.
“Poor thing. I checked with the others and yeah. They noticed something was up too but didn’t want to push. He’s always so skittish whenever anyone asks how he’s doing.”
“I don’t want to force the issue either but we need to know what's going on so we can help.”
“Yeah. Let’s let him rest for now though. He needs it.”
“Okay.” Mountain agrees. Soon though, they would be getting to the bottom of this.
-----
When Phantom wakes up, he seems slightly surprised to see that Rain is also present. He doesn’t say anything though. Just shyly thanks Mountain for coming to check on him, assures them both that he’s fine, just tired, and he disappears out the door. Mountain and Rain let him leave but they watch him closely for the rest of the evening. The rest of the pack does as well, clued in.
Phantom is smiling and laughing like usual. However, his underlying fatigue is so undeniably present that everyone wonders why they didn’t notice or say something sooner. In response, they all try their best to be gentle with him. All pet names and gentle touches. Just trying to help him even if they don’t know how.
Mountain is finally the one to bridge the uncomfortable subject when Phantom curls into bed with him that night.
“Hey Bug. Are you adjusting to life topside alright?”
Phantom blinks at the question no one had yet to ask. He goes to wave it off. Say he’s fine and doing great. But the look in Mountain’s face; full of care, and love, and concern. He can’t lie to him.
“I-I…I don’t know.” He says quietly. He can’t make eye contact, staring at the rumpled sheets instead.
“It’s okay if not. There’s nothing wrong if-”
“I can’t sleep.” Phantom interrupts suddenly. His eyes go wide as he does but he can’t stop.
The dam breaks.
“I can’t…I can’t fucking sleep!” He sobs, tears welling up. “I have these nightmares. And I hate being alone but I also can’t find the energy to keep up with everyone. I-I…why me? Why did they summon me? Sooner or later they're going to realize I’m not good enough and-and…I don’t want to go back.” He gasps and hiccups, tears falling freely now. “I don’t want to go back. I…I…please?” He grips fistfuls of the sheets as if they’re the only thing keeping him grounded.
“Oh Bug.” Mountain’s heart breaks as he wraps his arms around the little ghoul. “No one is going to send you back there. No one. I won’t let them.” He growls protectively, holding Phantom tighter.
“Bu-but-”
“No one.” Mountain can’t help but snarl, anger building at whatever happened to make Phantom feel this way.
Phantom flinches at the sound and Mountain winces immediately softening his tone to a purr. He begins to rub the quintessence ghoul’s back and brush the tears off his freckled cheeks.
“You’re here because you’re meant to be here. You’re a part of our pack now and that’s not going to change. I’m so sorry we weren’t there for you from the beginning. That’s our failing not yours. But we’re here for you now. Whatever you want or need, we’re here. We all adore you so much because of who you are. No one could ever replace you.”
Phantom sniffles. “Really?”
“Really.”
“Of course Ant.” Both ghouls look up to Rain standing in the doorway. The door is pushed further ajar.
“I’m sorry we didn’t check on you sooner sweetheart.” Swiss files in.
The ghoulettes follow close behind and dog pile Phantom. “We love you so much!” Aurora says as Cirrus, Cumulus, and Sunny nod and chirp their agreement.
“And if anyone tries to doubt you, I’ll make them regret it.” Dew promises as he and Aether bring up the rear.
“He will too.” Aether chuckles. “You’re amazing Ant. Not just on stage, which you're spectacular at by the way. But just for being your wonderful self.”
Phantom wants to shrink under the sudden attention. He hates that everyone has to see him like this. Deal with him like this. He must be annoying them. Inconveniencing them. But then, would they be here if they didn’t care? He fights to catch his breath enough to speak.
“T-thanks you guys. I love you too.” And he means it.
Even with the stress of filling Aether’s shoes on stage, sleepless nights, and his whole world getting literally turned on its head. His time with the pack is the most alive he's ever felt. He’s only known them for a few months but he doesn’t know what he’d do without them. To know they feel that same about him. To know they love him just as deeply. It doesn’t make all his insecurities disappear but he can ignore them for a while.
The pack scoops Phantom up, blankets and all, and brings him to the common room. There they all curl up with him at the center, surrounded in warmth and love. That night, he has one of his first truly restful nights of sleep topside.
-----
Waking rested is still a feeling Phantom is getting used to. He loves it though; not spending his days in a half asleep haze, sneaking in naps if and when possible just to function. If anything, he’s become even more rambunctious than anyone thought possible. Nobody minds though; more than happy to see him finally thriving.
Everybody immediately gets to work helping make things more comfortable for him. They start with his room. Phantom admits that the reason he’s so tired and can’t sleep is that he hates his room. It’s too dark, and bare, and lonely. He feels too isolated in there. The immediate fix is for Phantom to room with the other ghouls, swapping rooms every night. It allows everyone to spend quality time with him one at a time and really get to know him without the noise and commotion of everyone all at once.
As he rotates rooms though, Mountain gets to work on making Phantom’s room into a comfortable safe space. Enlisting Copia’s help, as well as his access to the Ministry’s credit card, Mountain organizes a trip to buy furniture and decorations for Phantom. Copia is more than happy to help, similarly ashamed he wasn’t there for Phantom earlier on. He personally escorts and supervises Phantom, Mountain, and Rain in their shopping as well as helping assemble the furniture and decorating.
To Phantom’s delight, in the couple of days it took to convince Phantom to go furniture shopping and then to complete the purchases, Aurora, with the rest of the ghoulettes help, has painted a gorgeous mural over his bedroom ceiling of a starry night sky, complete with glow in the dark paint for the stars. He can’t stop thanking her for several days afterwards.
With new furniture and decorations, Phantom has to agree he feels much more at home. He appreciates though, that each ghoul takes turns rooming with him now to help break in the new space. The scent of all his packmates in the room is comforting and makes him feel less alone. With time, he’s able to see his room as a quiet sanctuary from the noise and chaos of the Ministry.
He’s also gained enough confidence to ask for comfort when he wants or needs it. His favorite place to sleep is still the common room in a ghoul cuddle pile, but his room no longer feels so lonely. It takes time, but he finally feels at home.

DP Side Hoes Week 2024:
Super Danny - Off Duty/Domestic
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Isn't Super Danny off duty an oxymoron and actually just Fun Danny? I mean that was the reason in the episode that Danny wants to split himself.
Anyway I tried to do something:
The first one is Danny acting as a kite to measure the windspeed or whatever lie Fun Danny said to him. He needs to be productive so he does it for science dutifully while Fun Danny is having fun.
The second one is somewhat out of character but he has a bed sheet as a cape how could I not make a Burrito Danny?
I already voiced my opinion about their inclusion here, but I had fun making these animation so whatever. I just hope that this was just an exception.

I’ve seen a few of the ghosts regent ideas floating around, but pair that with adoptive dad Jason.
Jason adopts Danny but because he died, came back, and took a green soup dip Jason ends up accidentally adopting Danny in both the living realm and the GZ/IR. Danny being only 15 in human years and 1 in ghost years may be the current king, but he’s too young to be considered the formal ruler for events and realm rituals. So Jason has to take brakes from being the Red Hood every few weeks to basically put blob ghosts in a fancy circle and glare at unruly citizens.
Jason takes care of Danny and keeps the Bats from crowding and stressing him out. He also lets Danny help with vigilante stuff by working on evacuation plans, non lethal weaponry, medical training, and other things that won’t put him in danger or directly in the field.
Eventually the Red Hood gets captured by cultists along with a few of the other bats, all of them are tied to poles and fighting to escape their bindings. Then Jason hears what they’re supposedly going to summon, “The tyrant of the dead! The King of the Infinite Realm!” Jason stops fighting against his bindings and has to try not to choke or die again from laughing too hard while telling them they were about to do the stupidest thing they ever had.
The cultists say he “won’t be laughing for much longer” and to “shut up” and begin to summon the King. The entire area starts glowing green and the temperature drops, everyone can see their breath, the lights are flickering, and citrus scented neon green smoke begins spreading and forming a humanoid shape. At the same time the Red Hood vanishes, his bindings falling to the floor.
The cultists excitingly finish the ritual and while the figure is still cloaked in smoke tell it they prepared sacrifices for it. The smoke fades and standing fully armed ready to fight is the Red Hood. He tells the cultists to Run and that he told them they were going to regret this.
After Jason beats the cultists and the Bats get free they ask him how he did it. Jason responds by saying the King didn’t sign the Summoning permission slip so he can’t be summoned. This just leaves them more confused.
Jason heads back home to tell Danny what happened and that he should change the King’s summoning requirements.

How the Ghouls spend time alone (SFW) <3
All fluff, first time i've ever wrote something like this :)
Aurora
I know for a FACT this girl can draw. She can sketch, paint, reference, shade and draw in multiple art styles. She's incredibly proud of her art (AS SHE SHOULD?!) and always draws little sketches of the other ghouls when shes bored or alone. She sometimes rips the pages out and gives it to the ghoul she drew, they always fawn over it and thank her multiple times.
Cirrus
She's a doomscroller. Enough said. She has a screen-time of over 10 hours and is not ashamed whatsoever. She also loves online shopping, she spends at least half her time scrolling to buy things she cant and will probably never afford or wear.
Cumulus
THIS. GIRL. CROCHETS. SHE IS A CROCHET QUEEN. She especially loves making stuffed animals and makes the ghouls little stuffed animals for anti-christmas and their birthdays. They're always personalised and is colour-coded to the giftee's element (EG: Fire = Red wool, Water = Blue wool, Air = White/grey wool, Earth = Green/brown wool, Quintessence = Purple). She loves the time and effort spent in making crochet projects, and absolutely adores seeing the other ghouls' face light up when they're gifted one of her projects.
Sunshine
I feel like she'd just enjoy the alone time. She'd go on walks by herself, skipping and listening to music. She just loves everything and is literally a walking ray of sun. literally.
Swiss
He definitely plays loud music and sings along to it. Other ghouls either love it or hate it, depends on what time of day/night it is. He once woke up Sodo at 2am from it. DEEPLY regretted it. Has always stopped playing music at exactly 10pm after that incident.
Sodo
Depending on his mood, he'll either practice his guitar or go on walks. He almost always practices his guitar as he thinks its the only thing that will keep him focused in on something. He plays to get his mind off of whatever happened and he'll only goes on walks when he knows he needs to properly clear his head.
Mountain
He'd be a gardening boy. His room is full of plants and he knows the exact name of every plant in his room. He'd go out to the ministry gardens and sit underneath one of the trees reading. He's a calm boy.
Rain
You bet your ass if its a rainy day he's out there running around in it. Heavy rain? He loves it. Storm? No problem. Thunder? He'll jump at the large crashes of thunder, but find it to be music to his ears. He takes daily showers and the water has to be cold. He loves cold water (especially in the mornings) and he absolutely has a rainfall shower head. His spare time is spent damp.
Phantom
This little gremlin is a walking pile of chaos. He once baked with the ghoulettes when he was bored. Its safe to say he's now officially banned from the kitchen. Everytime he has spare time alone, he instantly goes to find someone to mess about with. He also plans elaborate pranks to pull on the other ghouls in the future. Yes, he has a notebook with all these plans.
Aether
He’s the type of guy that reads a lot of old novels, always has a book on him. He *loves* H.P. Lovecraft, especially ‘Call of Cthulhu’ and could talk about it for hours by a cozy fire if he had someone to listen

Gifts - Dew/Everyone
Tumblr media
Domestic December - Day 10
Summary: Dew gets the pack gifts for the season
Content (do let me know if I forgot anything!): Slightly anxious Dew, fluff, some quick kisses, talk of gender exploration and euphoria in relation to Rain
Word count: ~3.5k
A/N: Some parts of this fic are inspired by some headcanons I've posted before [My Main Masterlist]
The night was loud and unholy. The entire ghoul pack had gathered in their common room, celebrating the end of year festivities. Movies had been watched, board games played and so, so much alcohol consumed. It had, by all accounts, been a great night. But not for Dewdrop.
Yes, he’d been having a lot of fun, but there was a part of him distracted. He’d had an edge of anxiety all night, waiting for the right moment to resolve it. He knew he couldn’t wait much longer, since the night was starting to reach its natural conclusion in those wee hours of the morning.
He sat on a chair on the side of the room, leg bouncing. Two strong arms suddenly came down to lean on his shoulders from behind. He’d recognize those arms anywhere.
“What’s the matter, Droplet?” Swiss asked, “You’ve been a nervous wreck all night.”
“I’m not.” Dew argued unconvinsingly, before sighing. He knew he needed to just get it over with.
He stood up without another word, moving to his room. Swiss immediately followed him in concern.
“Hey, I’m sorry, man. I didn’t mean-”
“Nothing’s wrong, Swiss. I just need to grab something,” He stopped his stride, turning to Swiss with an almost pleading look in his eyes, “Please just wait here for a second.”
The multi ghoul was confused, but didn’t want to overstep. He subtly nodded a few times, “Alright.” He took a step backwards, his eyes staying on Dew, before turning back to the rest of the pack.
On shaky legs, Dew quickly made his way to his room. He had two plastic shopping bags waiting there for him, as well as a little separate package on his desk and another item off to the side for later. He put the separate one in his pocket before picking up the bags and marching back. He couldn’t stop now. If he just kept walking and got this over with, it'd be done. It wasn’t a big deal. Worst case scenario, the thought was still there, right?
“Ooh, whatcha got there?” Aurora asked the second he walked in. All eyes turned to him and he froze.
Just get it over with.
“Find out for yourself.” He said dismissively, putting the bags down and plopping himself down on the couch.
Aurora immediately crawled towards the bags. Half of the pack came a little closer as well, while the other half sat back, though still curious and anticipating.
Aurora dug through the first bag, grabbing the first thing she could get her claws on. She examined the wrapped package, soon spotting the name ‘Mountain’ written in Dew’s messy handwriting.
“Mounty, it’s for you.” She announced, throwing it over her shoulder without looking away from the bag.
Cirrus luckily caught it, passing it to Mountain. He looked at Dew in pleasant surprise, looking at the little flat square in his palm. The wrapping was messy, even on such a small present.
“Can I open it?” He asked dew.
“It’s your life. Do what you want.” The fire ghoul’s anxiety was getting worse, making him act dismissive as if it would distance him from the gifts.
He delicately unwrapped the package, without tearing the dotted paper. The first thing he was met with was an empty rectangle of cardboard. He turned it around, causing dew, who was paying very close attention, to bring his legs up against his chest.
Mountain looked over the cardboard a second, then third time, wanting to make sure he was reading it all correctly. There was a bit of text on there, next to a shitty doodle of a flower and what he could only assume was supposed to be Dew, all made with black permanent marker. The words were hard to make out.
“Exchangeable for one… at- attemoon?”
“For one afternoon of help in the garden.” Dew quickly mumbled in explanation.
Mountain looked up in surprise, “You hate the garden.” He noted.
“Well, if you don’t like it you could just say so!” The fire ghoul said defensively, his anxiety reaching its peak.
Mountain’s expression softened, “Dew… Thank you.” He got up, awkwardly bending over to wrap his arms around his packmate.
Dew was shaking like crazy, ready to cry at the positive reaction.
Meanwhile, Aurora had thrown a few more packages over her shoulder. Rain, Aether and Cirrus all got theirs. The little multi ghoulette huffed as she reached the bottom of the first bag, quickly moving onto the next. After throwing something to Phantom, she finally reached her own. She squealed in excitement, forgetting the few people that still hadn’t gotten their own and immediately violently unwrapping hers.
She found herself holding a small ziplock baggie. She saw Sunshine’s face, photoshopped onto a sun through it, quickly opening it up to investigate. It quickly became obvious that she was holding a little pile of different kinds of stickers. Apart from the Sunshine one, there were stickers based on everyone in the pack, all shitilly photoshopped in some relation from their element or name. There were stickers further referencing inside jokes, as well as some logos from Aurora’s favorite bands.
“Dewy, these are awesome!” She giggled, happily shaking her hands.
Cumulus came closer to her to look at the stickers, giggling at them herself, “Did you make these yourself?” She asked him.
Mountain pulled away so Dew could answer. He did so with a nod, “Aurora likes stickers. Easy.” Coming up with and putting together all the designs had actually been a nightmare, but he would never admit to that. He had zero regret, seeing Aurora’s reaction.
Based on the ghoulette’s excitement, everyone quickly dug into their own gifts. Cumulus handed out the few that hadn’t reached their reciprocate yet, including her own.
Phantom’s gift has a funny texture, only upping his curiosity. He rushed to unpack his, gasping and stuttering in excitement when he saw what it was. He could barely hold on to it with how much his hands shook.
“Whatcha got there, buddy?” Swiss asked, smiling at Phantom’s excitement.
Dew let out a sigh of relief. He’d been perhaps most nervous about Phantom’s gift, thinking it wasn’t good enough. Too lame or cheap, not personal enough. Seeing the quintessence ghoul’s eyes light up forced every last bit of anxiety to leave him.
The gift had indeed been simple, a little bat shaped fidget toy. You could spin its head around in circles, pull its wings back and forth and squish its little feet. Phantom immediately went to town on it, unresponsive to most outside stimuli.
Cumulus went next. Unwrapping her gift gracefully, much like Mountain had done. Her heart swelled as her hands grasped a book. Not just any book, but a photo album.
“Dew…” She said his name in adoration, flipping through the pages. Most pictures had been made by her. They were all labelled with a date and the place or situation in which they were taken. It was separated into three chapters: tour, home and Cumulus. The first chapter included photos from the stage, backstage and the tourbus. The second showed all the various shenanigans the pack experienced at the abbey. But it was the third that was most meaningful to Cumulus. She didn’t have a lot of pictures of herself, always being the one to take them of others. But Dew had somehow gathered just about every good picture ever taken of her, even some she had never seen before.
Cumulus quickly pushed the book into Cirrus’s hands, afraid she’d cry all over it. She sniffled, still seated on the ground. She made grabby hands to Dew, beckoning him over into her arms. The two entered a crushing hug while the book was passed around to everyone in the room, laughing and reminiscing.
“You fuckhead, really?!” Sunshine yelled in good spirit at Dew, holding up the book on a page containing a very unflattering picture of her napping on the tour bus. Drool leaked out the corner of her mouth, Swiss and Phantom posing next to her, pointing at the lewd drawings they’d made on her cheeks.
“It’s a good picture.” Dew argued with a smile, earning him a pillow to the face.
Sunshine rushed over in his disorientation, straddling his chest and miming punching him in the face a few times. They both laughed, Sunshine getting off of him again.
“Didn’t even get me a gift.” She mumbled, although her smile faltered a little. She’d been one of only two who didn’t have a gift in the bag. She was confused and hurt, but didn’t want to make a scene and risk ruining it for everyone else.
Dew looked at her face, silently reaching into his pocket and sliding her the little gift he’d kept separately in his pocket with a wink.
Sunshine immediately thought she knew what it might be, covering the package with her hand so no one could see. When everyone seemed distracted, she moved her legs up and unwrapped the gift behind them without looking down. She examined it with her hands, having a hard time not reacting. Quickly she let her eyes drift down, nearly screaming when she saw the lighter in her hands.
All the lighters she used to own had been confiscated for… reasons. And she technically wasn’t allowed to get any new ones.
She turned to Dew with a devious smirk, making him regret the gift almost instantly. But when she shuffled over and put her arm around his shoulders and rested her head against it, he knew it’d been a good call. He felt a lot calmer already, excited to witness the rest unpacking.
Cirrus went next. She tried opening it carefully, before just tearing it apart when it was taking too long. Her gift was one of the few in a proper cardboard box, also being the biggest. It carried the name of a clothing brand she was vaguely aware of.
She looked at Dew with squinted eyes. Curious, suspicious.
She opened it up to indeed be met with a sleek deep blue fabric. She picked and held it up, realizing there was another part of the same color in the box as well.
No way.
“Dew.” She stressed his name, putting her arms down again.
“Yes, dear?” He asked with a grin.
“Dew.” She looked again. It was unmistakable. He’d gotten her a suit. A full, fancy, proper suit, “I complained about not having a suit last week, how did you-”
“Guess I just know you really well.” His dismissive attitude came back with a shrug, not mentioning the fact that he’d run around town in a blind panic trying to get it on time during the busy season.
“I…” She struggled to find the words to express her gratitude.
“Well, don’t just stand there. Put it on!” Sunshine hyped her up.
Cirrus’ eyes lit up, throwing the jacket back down in the box and rushing out the room with it all.
“Alright, alright, now I’m done waiting,” Swiss said, looking straight at Dew, “I assume you haven’t forgotten about me.” There hadn’t been a gift for him in the bags either, but he knew better than to assume Dew didn’t get him anything.
The fire ghoul nodded, “One second.” And left the room.
His feet produced quick taps through the hallway, even though he was wearing socks. He hadn’t been able to bring Swiss’ gift in earlier, since it couldn’t really be wrapped.
“Dewdrop,” Right as he was about to pick it up, Cirrus’ voice came from behind him. He turned to the doorway, greeted by the sight of Cirrus in her brand new, impeccably sharp suit.
“I’m so glad it fits.” Was the first thing he said.
The ghoulette took quick strides towards him, hugging his head into her chest. She could be quite reserved sometimes, so she was glad to have caught Dew on his own.
“It looks great. Thank you so much. I love it.” Her voice shook a little with the sincerity it carried.
Dew stood semi awkwardly when she pulled back, “Phew,” He said stoically, though he did mean it and she knew that, “Guess you should show it to the rest then. I’ll be right behind.”
Cirrus nodded enthusiastically, skipping her way back to the rest of the pack.
Dew let out another relieved breath when she was out of sight. He really didn’t know why he'd been so scared to begin with. He knew his packmates well.
He could hear the excited oh’s and ah’s from the common room and knew he shouldn’t keep Swiss waiting too much longer. He waited another half a minute so Cirrus could have her moment, before picking up the gift and making his own way back.
“You did not!” Since Swiss’ gift wasn’t wrapped he could see clear as day what it was right off the bat.
“Maybe I did. Why don’t you have some fun with it?” Dew teased, holding out a very distinct guitar. At least it was distinct to Swiss.
He would recognize that damn thing anywhere. It was the first guitar he’d ever learned to play on, never allowed to take it on tour. When he returned from his first set of shows he was told he wouldn’t need the old model anymore, since it was best for him to get used to what he always used on stage. He’d never seen it again after that and a sentimental part of him had always missed it. But it was undeniable. This was the exact guitar.
The multi ghoul had never stood up so fast, making his way to Dew and practically yanking the instrument from his hands.
He inspected it, as if there was any doubt it was the right one.
“Hey, I know that! I learned to play with that thing.” Phantom mentioned.
“And it’s good that you did,” Dew interjected, “cause that’s how I figured out where they stored it. Don’t tell anyone.” The last sentence was said very quickly, giving Swiss a serious look that revealed that Dew did, in fact, steal the guitar.
Swiss looked at him with the same adoration he’d been shown earlier, but even more intense, “I cannot thank you enough.” The multi ghoul’s voice was low, soft. He’d never meant something this much in this life.
It almost caught Dew off guard, only able to nod and smile in response.
While Swiss excitedly moved to play a song, Aether had made his way to Dew’s side and led him back to one of the couches with a hand on his shoulder. Their legs touched when they sat down, making Dew move his head to Aether’s shoulder like Sunshine had done with him before.
“Should I be scared?” The quintessence ghoul asked half-jokingly, holding up the little box his gift resided in.
Dew shrugged, “Depends.”
“Depends on what?”
“Do you trust me?” Aether exhaled a laugh. Dew knew damn well he trusted him, he just wanted to hear him say it. He played this game a lot.
“Well, alright, alright. I trust you. Let’s see.” He removed the wrapping paper, not afraid to tear it but also not doing so in an aggressive manner.
He thought his eyes would bulge out of his skull with how wide they opened. Whatever he’d been expecting was nothing like this.
The little black ring box felt smooth in his hands, “I didn’t know you were so into human customs.” Aether smirked at Dew. The fire ghoul looked a little confused, until his friend clarified, “Are you asking me to marry you?” He already knew the answer was no, but it was fun to tease.
Dew scoffed, but couldn’t hide his smile, “You wish.”
Aether finally opened the box. The ring was a silver band, with dark purple waves decorating it all around.
“Saw it at a store, back in Cincinnati. It reminded me of quintessence, so I thought-”
The fire ghoul was cut off with a quick kiss on his lips. Aether’s face was so full of adoration, it made them both feel crazy.
“Four months,” Aether realized, “You’ve been sitting on this, and managed to keep it a secret, for four months.”
“I take it you like it.” Dew looked away from Aether’s face for a moment, a little bit of insecurity still lingering.
Aether forced him to look back with a hand on his chin, “It is perfect,” He kissed him again, “I just wish I got you something in return.”
“Please, don’t worry about it.” He nearly begged. Giving gifts had already been a struggle, let alone receiving them.
Aether dropped down, his head resting in Dew’s lap. He smiled up at him, fitting the ring onto his finger.
That left only one. Rain had waited with his gift, wanting to properly see everyone else’s reaction before getting caught up himself.
His was only a little smaller than Cirrus’ had been. He didn’t want to expect anything, afraid of being disappointed if he did. But he had a hunch. He tried not to focus on it, yet he couldn’t help a part of him hoping he was correct.
“Open it up already, I’m tired!” Aurora encouraged him, getting a poke in the ribs from Cirrus.
Rain took a breath, telling himself he'd be thankful either way. Because he would be. His heart swelled at the events of the evening, how much thought Dew had put into each and every single gift, finding things he knew everyone would like. And Dew knew him very well, right? Yes, he did, but Rain still scolded himself for his hope and expectation.
A strip of the wrapping paper tore away slowly, revealing the cardboard box underneath. Rain let out a shaky breath, forcing the rest of it out of the way.
Swiss jokingly started drum rolling with his hands on his legs, the rest of the room slowly joining in. It only made Rain take more time. He felt exposed with all eyes on him. What if he had an unfavorable reaction?
There truly only was one way to find out. He opened the box. His tense muscles relaxed in an instant. He knew exactly what it was. And god dammit he had guessed correctly.
Dew had not been anxious in the slightest about Rain’s gift, already knowing he’d love it. Although he hadn’t counted on Rain doubling over his gift, tears streaming down his face with a quiet sob.
The rest of the room couldn’t see the gift, some stares and raised eyebrows making their way towards Dew. But his face was confident, a small smile reassuring everyone that Rain’s reaction must be of joy.
The fire ghoul got up, knowing Rain would want to hug or kiss or fuck him on the spot. The second his ass touched the couch, Rain clung onto him, his cries somehow managing to sound overjoyed indeed.
The gift may not have seemed like a lot to most people. It was a blue ankle length dress with glitters on the top part and flowers embroidered on the skirt.
But it meant the world to Rain. He’d been wearing skirts more often, mostly in the privacy of his own room. It wasn’t that he feared judgement, he knew the other ghouls, as well as the siblings, would never look at him differently for it. But he just wanted to explore and experiment a bit at his own pace. Dew was the only person he’d discussed this with in detail, having shown him this exact dress. He’d been wanting to get it really bad for a while but always felt like something was holding him back.
Not anymore.
“No pressure,” Dew whispered into Rain’s hair, “but I’d love to see you in it some time.”
The water ghoul looked up, quickly wiping the tears off his face. He smiled, hurriedly getting up and running out with the box like Cirrus had done before.
“What was it? What was it?” Phantom quickly asked.
“Give him just a minute and you’ll see.” Dew responded.
Indeed a minute later, Rain shyly stepped back into the room. There was definite excitement for everyone, some showing it more strongly than others.
“Give us a twirl!” Cumulus encouraged, causing Rain to do just that.
He felt majestic in it. A fairytale princess come to life straight out of a storybook. It was euphoric, “How did you know my size?” He asked Dew.
“I don’t know if you realize, but I’m pretty familiar with your body.” He explained.
Rain smiled wider, walking up to Dew and picking him up right off of the couch. He twirled around again, with him in his arms this time.
“Thank you so much. This really means the world.”
“Everyone say ‘thank you, Dew’.” Aether said.
A big chorus of thank you’s sounded through the common room. Phantom came up to Dew, still suspended in Rain’s arms, and joined their hug. Soon enough it was a group hug with the whole pack.
Dew had already stopped worrying, but the reinforcement of everyone’s gratitude made him feel even sillier for ever worrying in the first place. He loved his fellow ghouls and they clearly loved him back.

some examples of pink in the animal kingdom. while there are no mammals with pink fur, it's naturally found in some birds, insects and fish. otherwise, usually due to genetic pigment mutations like albinism or leucism, some animals appear pink due their extreme paleness – their blood is visible through their skin!

kissy prompt 32 withhhh lus and phantom 👀🤗
EEE okay here goes <3 definitely got longer than i intended but i hope you like it 🥹 they’re v precious to meeeeee
also if there’s any mistakes - no there’s not (i didn’t proofread this so my bad)
32. a kiss to wake up
slight cw: scars/mention of scars, but other than that it’s pretty much just fluffy morning ghouls :))
under the cut cause of length 🫶✨🦇
The warm caress of the morning sun flooding into her room was a gentle nudge awake, enough to tug her just towards consciousness, but not pull her entirely from the comforting haze of sleep. With a sigh, Cumulus rolled to her other side, attempting to tug the blankets further over her chest - but being met with resistance upon doing so. Her sleep-soaked brain took a moment to register that such a task would normally be done with ease, and once she realised her relaxed face scrunched into a slight frown. She tugs again, a little harder this time, and is met with the resistance once again. This time, though, it is accompanied by a grumpy ‘mrrrp’ from the ghoul curled into a ball on top of the blankets.
His hair is mussed from sleep, and his body continues to rise and fall in the gentle pattern of his breathing, a soft puff of air escaping from slightly parted lips on every exhale. Cumulus’ frown is wiped from her face the moment her eyes land on the pulsing lights across his lavender cheeks, replaced by a fond smile at her little bug who must have joined her for comfort during the night. He has an open invitation into her room whenever he likes, and she has always indicated that she’s happy for him to wake her - but clearly last night all he wanted was to be close.
Cumulus reaches a hand of manicured claws down to gently rake his hair away from his face, the disturbance causing him to shift - arms reaching out to stretch slightly and give her better access for head scratching. she leans in closer to nuzzle against him, soaking up some of his warmth, and starts a gentle purr. This is a perfect way to start her morning, if you ask her.
Phantom’s eyes remain close, still blissfully clingy to the thread of sleepiness, but he responds to her purr with a crackly attempt at his own. At this, Cumulus’ smile widens and she bends toward him to press a feather of a kiss onto his forehead. a quite chirp is her only response, so she continues - another kiss pressed against the scar slashing through his right eyebrow, again to the bridge of his nose. Mismatched eyes crack open to gaze up at her, and she continues with her worshipping lips, pressing devoted kisses to every scar and pulsing strike of lightning that dances across his cheeks. Her lips brush against the tip of his nose, and he tilts his head up in an attempt to get a proper kiss from her, whining when she just giggles and kisses his chin, and then along his jaw. Phantom squirms with impatience, making quiet but desperate noises to which Cumulus finally relents, pressing her full lips lovingly to his own, and holding for a breath. The kiss is short, but filled with her adoration and affection for her little Bug, and his purr amps up in response. He steals another kiss before she pulls away gently, still caressing the hair at the base of his neck.
“Goodmorning my little Lovebug” she whispers, and he giggles at the way her breath tickles his cheeks.
“‘mornin’ Lussy,” he smiles brightly up at her.
Yeah, this is certainly one of her favourite ways to wake up.

It’s DP Side Hoes Week!
And I may have forgotten and written this in one day but-!
Here is my entry for Super Danny!
It’s also heroic amusement so enjoy!
Super Danny
Off Duty/Domestic
“Sizzling spirits!”
Super looked on in disgust at the deplorable condition of Fun’s bedroom. Papers were strewn all over the desk. Dirty laundry piled onto the bed. Food wrappers littered the floor instead of in the wastebasket. It was right there! How could he miss it?
Unbelievable. How could his former human half live in such disarray?
Speaking of him, Fun waved at him from his chair, nose deep in his laptop. “Hey, dude!”
“Don’t you act all nonchalant with me, human! “This is unacceptable! How could you leave this room in such a disgusting condition?”
“Well,” Fun shrugged, “I finished my homework. Lancer was boring and he gave me detention for sleeping in class.” He smiled at Super. “Tuck gave me his notes, though. So, it worked out in the end.”
Super huffed. Honestly! How could he take his education so unseriously? “I’ve had enough of your lazy, lowlife lifestyle! We are resolving this today! Right now,” he pointed at the door, “You are cleaning your room.”
Fun put his hands up, placatingly. “Alright, alright, I figured I’d do the more important thing first.” He stood up and stretched. His shirt rode up a bit, exposing his stomach, and Super quickly looked away. “Just promise you won’t disappear immediately. I know you patrolled all morning.”
“But of course! How else am I to make sure this city is free of conniving criminals?”
“Did you catch any today?”
Super’s puffed up chest deflated a bit. “Well, no.”
“Ah,” Fun smiled, mischievously. “I see.”
“What’s that supposed to mean? They could be scheming something dastardly later and I have to take care of it.”
“Mhm,” Fun dismissively waved his hand. “You hold that thought, dude. I’ll be back.” He gathered his clothes and left, presumably to start cleaning.
Super sighed once the door closed. The fact that the ghosts haven’t been around today didn’t worry him. What worried him was that it was two days since he last saw one. Super didn’t understand. Were they all plotting something against him? Why would it take so long?” He crossed his arms, hugging himself. This is the calm before the storm. It must be.
Super was so absorbed in his thoughts he didn’t realize Fun came back until he heard the vacuum turn on. He jumped, startled, and whirled around, ectoplasm crackling in hand.
Fun blinked at him. “Whoa, hotshot, it’s just me.” He gave a toothy grin. “I’m not that threatening, am I?”
“Hardly!” Super turned his nose up, his power dissipating. “You should know better than to sneak up on ghostly ghouls.”
He snorted, “Okay, GG dude.”
“This isn’t a game!”
“Never said it was.”
“You-!” Super turned his head and tried to compose himself. He was shocked to see all the wrappers in the garbage and desk clean. “When did you finish cleaning?”
Fun pulled the plug and put the vacuum in the corner. “Since I came back. You okay GG?”
“Again with that?” Super mumbled.
“I walked in here, saw you pouting, and decided to start before you got more upset.” He snickered. “You jumped so far up at the noise I thought I was watching a Luney Toones cartoon.” He walked over to the TV and turned it on, flipping down on the bed in the process. He patted the space next to him. “Come here! You’re gonna miss it.”
Super had no idea what he was talking about but floated over regardless. Probably another silly show that he’s been watching. What were they called? Amine? Anima? Whatever. The one with the boy in space was pretty good, though…
Super yelped as he was pulled onto a warm body by a hand. Said hand wrapped itself around him, holding him close.
Super squirmed a bit, blushing. “Why must you be so, so-“
“Charming?”
“Absolutely annoying!”
Fun chuckled before using both hands to gently cradle Super’s head. Super didn’t realize what he was doing until he saw his cape maneuvered in front of him. He sucked in a breath, angered. “Hey!”
“Relax,” Fun spread his cape on their legs, containing their warmth. “It’s mine, too-“
Super clenched his fists and ducked his head. Right. One of Fun’s belongings.
“Just like how my room is your room,” He gave Super a side eye and smiled, “My bed, your bed. Your burden, my burden.”
Super blinked at the statement then shook his head. “The city is my responsibility.”
“Doesn’t mean I can’t help,” Fun snuggled closer, “or that you can’t ask for help.”
Super leaned back and grabbed his hand, slotting their fingers together.
“Which means my mess is also your mess-oof!”
“Some things are only your things,” Super said, pulling the pillow away.
“And time. You have your time to do what you want when you want. But would you like to spend your time with me?”
“Do I have a choice?”
“The portal’s closed for construction, so…”
Super grabbed Fun as he laughed. “You knew why there were no ghosts?!”
“You wouldn’t have believed me!”
Super hated how he was right. “Fine! I can spend some of my invaluable time doing a mundane thing.”
“Watching Gravity is mundane?”
Super straightened up. “We’re watching Gravity?”
“Hell yeah, dude!”
“No swearing!”
Fun smiled at the cute expression on Super’s face, encircling his arms around his torso.
As the movie played, Fun felt Super’s stiff posture slowly melt into him, and he hugged his ghostly ghoul to his chest. By the time the movie ended, he heard snores coming from Super. Fun smiled gently and kissed Super’s temple.
Finally. He finally got Super to rest and even stay with him for the night. Super dude works too hard for no reward. He couldn’t believe his plan worked. Now he can finally relax.
Fun grinned. How’s that for being lazy?
