DP + DC Danny and Bruce have a grudge

So short Twink Danny, you gotta love him, but I want more tall Danny. Give me Eliie at GA and Danny this scary dude with scars coming in to pick her up. Ellie who got in a scuffle and the other kid wants her in trouble.

And the other kid is Damian duh. And it's a face of, Danny Nightingale nee Fenton who would sooner die than let Ellie get hurt, and Bruce Wayne, who would do anything for his sons. It gets resolved but they take snips at each other at galas.

Danny talks about him rudely, Bruce returns the favor, he makes snips about his behavior, how he's far too happy. Bruce of course digs deep and hits hard. Talking about Vlad, how he's living of another money, how his parents kicked him out. So Danny talks to the dead, mocking him by quoting word dead people said to him.

Both are convinced the other knows their identity and is after them, eventually they figure it out and the beef continues. In the JL Phantom, the eldritch entity who is calm is constantly sniping at the Bat. And the bat responds, they bicker constantly arguing.

The JL thinks they are exes, how else would Phantom know that much about the bat? Why else would the emotionless bat hate Phantom. So they bicker, they take insults, and everyone is like dude they are totally exes. They try to steal each other's side kicks too, as a like punch in the face. The robins follow Danny around and Danny is all smug. Until Bruce bribes Ellie and it's a war.

The JL thinks they are trying to win back the children from the divorce, the lore. the chaos.

idk I liked it, also I wrote this vibing to the Life is Fun song, and now wondering what my taste in music is? also I tried the story in the tags thing, it's officially my new favorite thing

Call Meeting Interruptions

Thinking about another funny DeadTired AU idea.

Deaged Dani and Dan btw.

So does anyone remember that one video of a guy doing a interview and his kids come in the room.

Imagine secretly married DeadTired. Tim is out of Gotham at the moment but in a video call with the Bats or maybe during a WE meeting (Bruce is in the call as well) when out of nowhere the door behind him opens and a Deaged Dani (Ellie), who comes in with a smile and walks in like she owns the place and not long after her in a baby walker Dante (Dan) comes in too, Tim is trying to keep a straight face but inside is panicking when he realizes he didn't lock his office door (which is coated with anti-ecto paint that only work when its locked and it keeps the kids out) knows there is no way to keep them a secret anymore.

Then Danny comes sliding in, grabs the kids, whisper/shouts a "Sorry Tim!" and gets them out.

Tim is silent for a moment, takes a breath and tries to resume the talk.

Let’s amp up the “Jason says ow and the batfam thinks he must be gravely injured” headcanon.

Jason calls Bruce or Dick for fun and says nothing but “goodbye” before hanging up (maybe it’s a dare by Roy who TOTALLY suspects the reaction Jay is gonna get).

Ten minutes late the entire Justice League is scouring Gotham, on the hunt for Jason.

tbh i do get a little bothered by the notion that tim took the first shot he had to drop out of school because he hated school and didnt wanna do it and all of that bc i feel like it ignores the probably very important context that he dropped out after his dad (as well as steph-or at least, he was led to believe, in the same week) died, also he was in a school shooting. He did attempt to go to a school in bludhaven but the kids there were so wildly insensitive about the shooting that tim dropped out under the pretense of his "uncle" homeschooling him. In his oyl era, he /did/ go back to school, and it provided him some form of normalcy. Tim was a normal kid, he wasnt crazy about school but he still went to school and it helped him feel like a normal kid, something he desperately clung to. He only dropped out again to do his Brucequest, in an era where he was notably Not Doing Well (which. Yeah. he wasnt doing well bc he was like 17 and almost everyone in his support system was dead, he recently had hits put out on him, got blown up, and backstabbed by his not-dead-ex, he couldnt support his theory that bruce was alive and was extremely stressed about that, and he didnt know wtf he was doing. I love him btw.) Basically tim dropping out of school was a signifier that he wasnt doing well and he was giving up on the normality that he tried to cling to and im a bit of a nitpicky person who gets irked by minor things

Falling for the One You Can’t Have

Jason had never been one to catch feelings easily, especially not in Gotham’s mess of a world where life moved too fast, too unpredictably. But it started small—just another rescue, another guy in the wrong place at the wrong time. A witty joke here, a grateful smile there, and soon, Jason found himself seeking out the boy who seemed to be Gotham’s favorite target for muggings and kidnappings.

Danny, the guy with a laugh that rang through the night and eyes that always sparkled with a mischievous glint, had become a small, unexpected light in Jason’s world. Sure, Jason wasn’t some lovesick idiot—he told himself that constantly. But each time he saved Danny, the witty banter and the easy way they fell into conversation made him feel something more. Slowly but surely, the small crush grew.

He started to look forward to bumping into Danny, even if it was because of yet another mugging or hostage situation. Jason would stick around for a little longer after each rescue, tossing casual remarks, feeling his heart beat a little faster every time Danny laughed at one of his jokes. The thought of asking Danny out had crossed his mind more than once, but it wasn’t like he’d ever had great luck with relationships. Maybe he’d try, though—eventually. He just needed to figure out how to do it without making things awkward.

Then Tim called for a family dinner.

Jason wasn’t exactly thrilled about it. Family dinners weren’t his scene to begin with, and the fact that Tim insisted this one was important only made him more reluctant. But, Tim was family, and it wasn’t like Jason was doing anything else that night. So he dragged himself there, expecting the usual chaos of a Wayne family gathering.

When he arrived, Jason immediately felt something was different. Tim had this weird glint in his eye, like he was excited about something. That was never good. Jason kept his usual distance, sitting near the back, arms crossed, trying not to be annoyed by whatever announcement Tim was about to make.

But then Tim stood up, calling everyone’s attention to the middle of the room. “Hey, thanks for coming, everyone. I have someone I want to introduce to you all. He’s really important to me and has been for a while now.” Jason perked up a little, curiosity getting the better of him. That’s when Tim said it: “This is Danny, my boyfriend.”

Jason felt the floor drop out from under him.

And there, standing beside Tim, was Danny—his Danny, the guy Jason had been saving, the one he’d been building up the courage to ask out. He looked just as charming and witty as ever, smiling brightly at everyone. Jason couldn’t move. He couldn’t think. All he could do was watch as Danny wrapped an arm around Tim and introduced himself to the rest of the family.

It felt like a punch to the gut.

Jason tried to steady his breathing, his hands clenched under the table. He couldn’t break down here, in front of everyone. He had to be cool, calm—just like always. But inside, his heart was shattering. How long had they been together? How had he not known?

When Danny’s gaze met Jason’s, his eyes lit up in recognition. “Oh hey! You’re Red Hood, right? You’ve saved me a bunch of times—thanks for that! I swear, I’m a total danger magnet. Usually Tim’s around to keep me out of trouble, but he’s been busy with Wayne Enterprises stuff lately, so it’s nice to have someone else watching my back.”

Jason nodded numbly, forcing a tight smile. “Yeah, no problem,” he mumbled, his throat tight.

It was worse than Jason could have imagined. Danny had been saving all his love for Tim—Tim, of all people. His younger brother, the one Jason was supposed to protect, the one who had swooped in and taken the one person Jason had allowed himself to care about. Not that Tim knew, of course. No one knew. And Jason couldn’t blame him—he couldn’t blame anyone.

As the dinner progressed, Jason tried to tune out the couple’s affectionate gestures. The way Danny laughed at Tim’s jokes, the soft touches between them, the way they looked at each other like no one else in the world mattered. Each moment felt like a knife twisting deeper into Jason’s chest.

He actively avoided joining in on any conversation with them, keeping his head down and avoiding eye contact. He couldn’t bear to see the love in Danny’s eyes when he looked at Tim, knowing that it would never be directed at him. That dream—the one where Jason had imagined maybe asking Danny out, maybe finding some happiness for himself—it was gone. Shattered.

All Jason could do now was smile through the pain, pretend everything was fine, and show his support for Tim. For both of them. Because that’s what family did, right?

But deep down, it hurt like hell.

Jason excused himself as soon as he could, slipping away from the table before the dinner had even finished. He couldn’t stand to see the two of them any longer. Once outside, he let out a shaky breath, leaning against his motorcycle and staring at the sky.

Jason was always the one saving people. But this time, there was no one to save him from the aching void in his chest.

Kon expressed the hope that the hair color will be the only thing that baby inherited from grandfather Lex.

tim has to dug out some information about his grandparents and grand-grandparents just to console kon that the drakes had blonds in their bloodline too, so it may not even be from lex

“Yeah, he’s awake,” Jason said, glancing at Dick.  He listened for a moment before humming, “Sure.”

He walked back over to the couch, tapping at the phone, before turning it, screen-front, towards Dick and Tim.  “Proof of life,” Jason announced.

Bruce was in what looked like his study, exhausted circles under his eyes and furrowed lines in his forehead, but he brightened when he saw Dick.  “Hey, chum,” Bruce said quietly, “How are you feeling?”

“Like I got hit in the head with a baseball bat,” Dick replied.  Bruce huffed out a chuckle, and Dick let his lips twitch in a small smile.

“How’s Tim?” Bruce asked, and Jason tilted the phone so that both Dick and Tim were in the frame.

Tim didn’t pause before speaking, “Bruce—Bruce, please, he’s torturing us—”

Bruce’s expression barely had the time to shift to alarm before Jason yanked the phone away.

“Speaking of which,” Jason said, “I have another demand.  Do you know the recommended daily caffeine limit for a sixteen-year-old?”

Tim made a low, mournful sound. “One hundred milligrams,” Jason snapped, “And you’re going to ensure he sticks to it, before his entire bloodstream is replaced with coffee!”

Thoughts/hcs re: the 2003 animated teen titans series:

Robin having multiple flavours of angst including but not limited to: "ScRew YoU yOu'Re nOT mY dAd", general teenage angst, not wanting to be under batman's shadow angst, thinks he's getting replaced by a younger sibling angst (jason), etc and running away from home to live on the custom built T shaped tower on the private island that's all very much being paid for by batman

At some point Jason steals the red x suit and uses it to torment Dick!robin CONSTANTLY. Bruce either doesn't know a thing about this or does, but doesn't let on that he knows, and is just watching on from a distance with fatherly affection like "aww they're bonding :)" while dick is popping a blood vessel with stress going "WHO is this KID???"

When Bruce adopted Jason he had no intention of making him Robin, but at some point the red x shenanigans were going so far that he actually started feeling bad for dick so he had to put his foot down like, alright, this kid clearly has some energy to burn off or something, let's redirect that energy to something more productive. Like punching the sHIT OUT OF GOTHAM GOONS HELL YEAH. And gives Jason the Robin ii mantle

Jason "gremlin child" Todd is clearly very "yippee :) violence" about this and the red x fuckery stops, but of course dick!robin finds out about this and is all "you replaced me?? >:'( I HATE YOU DAD" and his list of reasons to be angsty and emo increases yet again. Clearly his stress never ends

Eventually dick grows out of his teenage angst and becomes everyone's favourite big brother figure nightwing. And every time Jason tries to tell anyone about Dick's emo angsty edgy menace robin era NOBODY believes him. This is cosmic karma for all the times he broke into the titans tower and moved all of Dick's furniture two inches to the left so he'd stub his toe in the morning. And the time he replaced all of his birdarangs with custom made glitter bombs. And the time he bought a seam ripper and broke into titans tower AGAIN just to rip all the crotch seams of Robin's pants. And the time...you get the point

(Tim DOES know about Dick's edgy emo era (because he's a creepy little stalker FREAK) He just acts like he has no idea what Jason is talking about just to mess with him. Jason is TEARING his hair out and FOAMING at the mouth.)

Drake Siblings

Have I read this prompt somewhere or was this a fever dream from my bored mind.

What if, now hear me out.

What if we bring up Dana Winters-Drake (whose confirmed to at least be alive in the DC verse but no one knows where she actually is)

What if instead of when she had a mental breakdown and getting committed to an Bludhaven clinc she wandered away before anyone noticed and by the time Tim or anyone did notice a lot of stuff started happening at once in both Gotham and Bludhaven (Steph dying, The Bludhaven crisis, etc etc)

Tim still tries to find her though but even with best resources it was like she just disappeared into the wilderness and the stress of trying to handle more and more problems get worse.

So when out of the blue, a couple of years later, he gets a call from an unknown number. On his private, only for friends and family, phone and when he answers he meet with a young girls voice on the other end.

A very young, maybe six or seven, girl who informs him about his apparently half-brother Danny Drake-Fenton. And how she loves Danny so, so, so much but knows her home is dangerous for him to be in.

Tim is stunned and before he could question her, she says Danny is Dana and Jack's baby and that her parents had adopted him years ago and put Dana's stuff that the hospital had away for him to look at when he was older but she just had to fight off their lunch from eating her brother and she knows he needs a better place to live and so she snooped around and found Dana's diary and that she had to unscramble the nonsense Dana wrote and found Tim's number with the words 'tell him about his brother Danny' hidden in it. And-

But before she could keep rambling she hears Danny screaming "JAZZY THE MILK WENT BAD AGAIN AND HISSED AT ME!"

Tim is left with silence after hearing Jazz yell to Danny to lock the fridge and step out of the kitchen as she gets the bat.

idk if this will be well received but like, Damian's characterization has been in the dumps.

Like even Robin (2021) was not good characterization for him. Like some parts were decent but he was severely nerfed.

I often see the argument that his current character is due to him getting older and being in a more vulnerable space emotionally with everything going on in his life rn, and i don't think that's an awful argument. But idk something about the way dc is going about it feels like wrong and sort of off for his character.

I don't think that all of Damian's behavior/personality is simply a trauma response, I think that he is who he is. So I don't think he would suddenly become a very "normal" everyman-esque person all of a sudden. And that is what he feels like right now.

I think it has to do with the fact that dc doesn't trust it's readers to be able to relate to a character that doesn't share their circumstances. But like I feel like to most people Damian Wayne wasn't relatable because of his exact circumstances, being a literal child crime fighter and all, but rather the feelings, interactions, and scenarios that can feel very familiar and relatable.

So like I don't think Damian Wayne has to go to public high school and be into pop culture and have a girlfriend to be a character that people can connect to. In fact I'll even argue that makes him less accessible to those who related to his unconventionality in the first place.

i was gonna make a whole seperate post about how context and art seems to imply that the ex boyfriend that got stephanie pregnant was at least 18, if not older, when she was 16/15, which is kinda squicky (i mean not if she's 16 really, but 15 yes) but in my journeys on the Stephanie Brown wiki (real and delightful thing that exists) i discovered the batman chronicles #22 where her UNCLE HITS ON HER???? i think that's what we're meant to get from it anyway the dialogue is subtle (the art is not imo).
