Silver: The National Art Museum of the Land of Dawning is much larger than I had expected…

Silver: I would like to properly peruse every single work of art here. It would be nice if I do not drowse off…

???: This is a painting of a prince and princess dancing hand-in-hand in the castle hall… What a beautiful sight. I can certainly see why it would be a well-known painting.

Silver: I know this painting well. This same scene was depicted in a book I used to read all the time when I was a child.

Azul: Oh, hello, Silver-san. Are you partial to this particular tale?

Silver: That's correct. Among the piles of picture books my father would bring home to me from his travels, there was one that held this story.

Silver: I had grown to admire the prince, who would fend off his foes with his sword, that I had read it countless times.

Silver: There was a time I thought that perhaps I could develop a training regimen off of this scene, so I attempted to dance as he did.

Azul: Hmhm, so you looked to emulate the prince from the story.

Silver: Yeah, at the time, I believed that in order to grow even stronger, I would also need to learn how to dance.

Silver: I would prepare a dressed log as my partner and spin around in circles…

Silver: I would practice tirelessly while some forest critters would look on.

Azul: You used a log as your partner…? Well, I suppose that would train up your muscles.

Silver: True, it may have resulted in some actual muscle training. And well, it did provide me with an opportunity to improve my dancing.

Azul: Eh!? Dancing with the log did?

Silver: Ah, no. My father saw I was trying to dance, and asked a certain person to teach me properly…

Silver: That person said, "A fine opportunity for you both to learn to dance." My father and I ended up both receiving instruction.

Silver: It was only for one day, but it was a fantastic lesson.

Azul: I wouldn't think that only a single day of practice would allow you to increase your dancing ability…

Silver: Do you think so? I always believed that I had improved much thanks to that single day.

Silver: I ended up having a wonderful time while dancing, and during the middle of it all, all of us couldn't help but laugh and enjoy ourselves.

Silver: Before I had realized it, we were standing beneath a starry night sky. We were having such a good time that none of us had noticed how much time had flown by.

Azul: Hm. Well, they do say that enjoying something is the quickest way to improve yours skillset, so perhaps that is why.

Silver: Yeah. Toward the end, my father started to dance some moves I had never seen before, so we tried practicing that as well.

Silver: But it was a rather difficult dance, with footwork and headbanging too quick for the eyes to follow. We did our best to follow but to no avail.

Azul: Footwork and… headbanging? I feel as though that has drifted further and further away from the prince's dance you were initially studying.

Silver: Not at all. I am sure that training also contributed to improving my dance ability.

Silver: I truly did feel thankful that I had received the lessons that I did, when I attended the party on campus.

Silver: If there is ever another opportunity in the future, I would like to be able to dance with everyone.

Silver: This is a painting of the Sea Witch. I heard that she would help merpeople in need… However...

Azul: It is also said that she would grow to enormous size in order to reprimand any merfolk who broke their contracts.

Azul: That she would strictly admonish dishonest people in order to better them just shows yet another aspect of her overwhelming compassion.

Silver: The strictness is to help them improve… Ah, I understand now.

Silver: Azul… I would like to ask you one thing, but are you any good at alchemy?

Azul: Alchemy? Yes, I would say it is one of my best subjects. What about it?

Silver: To tell you the truth… I do not do well in alchemy.

Silver: I have a hard time staying awake, not only in the lecture portions of the class, but also during practical applications…

Silver: I've over-heated ingredients, burnt cauldrons, and caused numerous other concoction failures.

Silver: If this were to continue, it could result in a terrible accident one day.

Silver: That is why I try to take more care in this class than I do in others… But I only continue to fail.

Azul: …I see? Well, that sounds like quite a predicament! If you'd like, I would happily listen to your woes!

Silver: So you'll hear me out? This is about what happened in alchemy class last week.

Silver: That day, I was able to weigh out the ingredients, adjust the heat properly, and even concocted the potion to the textbook specifications.

Silver: The final result was exactly what was asked of me.

Silver: I was even proud of myself for receiving a "Good Boy" from Crewel-sensei… Or so I thought.

Azul: Hmm…? But that's not the whole story, I presume?

Silver: Right. When I opened my eyes, there was no potion in my hands.

Silver: Instead, Crewel-sensei was standing before me with a furious look. "I see the little mongrel has finally awoken." He said.

Azul: Ah. I think I see where this is going.

Silver: I had fallen asleep again. My successful potion was all a dream.

Silver: In actuality, it seems I had almost fallen head-first into the cauldron as soon as we were to begin concocting the potion.

Silver: Crewel-sensei had decided that it would be dangerous to allow me to continue and carried me back to my seat…

Silver: And I was sound asleep until class ended.

Azul: It seems your drowsiness is a much more formidable foe than I had understood it to be…

Azul: I will gladly see if I can find any way for me to help!

Silver: It's enough for me that you were hear to listen. This is all due to my own shortcomings.

Silver: I'll have to take better care in the future so I may repay Crewel-sensei for his sincere admonishment.

Silver: If I recall correctly, he would often use a board game map to plan and explain his strategies to his forces.

Silver: I wonder if board games are truly a useful way to share information?

Azul: Perhaps he, like myself, would use those board games to inspire new ideas.

Silver: Inspire new ideas…?

Azul: Board games can quickly change situations from turn to turn, which in turn allows one to cultivate their adaptability.

Azul: Not only is that a useful skill for everyday troubles, but also for business management.

Silver: I see… So it is a type of training in its own right. I can understand why the Lord of the Underworld used it as well, now.

Azul: If it piques your interest, why not come and visit the Board Game Club sometime? You would always be welcome.

Silver: Is that so…? True, there are often times that I've had to make snap decisions while performing my guard duties. It may be wise to stop by for a visit.

Silver: I don't really have much experience with it, but are a majority of games played with two people like chess?

Azul: There are such games, yes, but… There are also many that allow for a larger group to enjoy themselves.

Azul: There are 3D puzzle games, in which you try to fit the pieces into a frame, or real estate trading games, in which you try to increase your assets...

Azul: I suppose an easy game that anyone could pick up would be one where you would roll a die and do whatever task given on the space you land on.

Silver: What sort of tasks would those be?

Azul: It could require them to imitate the person beside them, or drink horrible-tasting juice… My clubmates do seem to enjoy that sort of thing.

Silver: I see, so those sorts of board games exist.

Silver: That could be a viable method…

Azul: A method? For what?

Silver: I just thought that if we were to change the theme of those games, it could also be used for training purposes.

Silver: For example, if we were to have the player's tasks be "20 finger push-ups" or "100 squats."

Azul: …Are you serious?

Silver: Yeah. I often hear people say that they find it difficult to train individually.

Silver: However, if many people were to work together, I am sure they could enjoy their workout.

Silver: Whenever it rains, we in the Equestrian Club are limited in what activities we can perform.

Silver: On those days, we often resort to training individually.

Silver: So I thought that if we all played a board game together, we could enjoy that exercise together.

Azul: You've come up with such a harsh training regimen while keeping such a virtuous mindset… I find you're as cunning as they come, Silver-san.

Silver: Oh, right, when I finish the prototype, would you like to join…

Azul: Ah, pardon me. Look at the time…. I should be on my way!

Silver: I appreciate you staying to talk with me. Now, I think I'll head to the next exhibit… Ah!

Silver: …This wasn't part of a dream, this really happened.

Silver: What overwhelming power… I must be diligent in my training so as to not falter before a foe that could be as mighty as her.

Now that I think about it, maybe the reason why Malleus' Magic is so powerful, because before he was born he was copiously sustained with powerful magicians like Meleanor, Maleficia, and Lilia.

The egg is born through love but only through magic can that egg finally hatch (that's where Lilia exhausted his magic). Maybe a fae's power is determined to how much magic can their parents "exhaust" in making them born(?).

So, essentially, His magic consists of the magic of powerful mages.

1) Meleanor (as his biological mother),

2) Maleficia (her magic was life support while he was incubated),

and 3) Lilia (who hatched him).

So when we fight Malleus, we are not just simply fighting "Malleus" himself, but rather a lethal culmination of Meleanor, Maleficia, and Lilia's raw power.

That's why it feels so impossible to defeat him because we're essentially fighting three powerful magicians at once, it's just in the form of "Malleus Draconia."

All these magicians have high-profile powerful magic, and all of them are faes too. I often assumed that Malleus was rich in magic because he's a Draconia but no, Meleanor used her full magical strength as well but the story didn't showcase her casting some world altering magic like stopping time and encasing human souls inside a magical barrier— Only Malleus did...

Maybe there's really no person who can defeat him as STYX theorizes... Not even Maleficia. While its true she's powerful, but based on this interpretation, she can fight Malleus, but fighting Malleus is also the same as fighting her magic, mixed with Meleanor's and Lilia's (and Levan's even though we don't know how powerful he is).

Levan is Malleus' father but so far the story doesn't imply nor mention any significant magical contribution he did to Malleus. The only thing mentioned in the story about Levan's influence was that Malleus is a kind/gentle person because of him.

I like to interpret he's powerful too! So maybe, its not just Meleanor, Maleficia, Lilia, but also Levan.... if he got the chance to bless Eggmalleus some magic before he lost. So its actually FIVE HIGH CLASS MAGICIANS were fighting against if we fight Malleus ☠️☠️ That's why he's truly "god-like".

I really like the fact that Malleus is undefeatable even by raw power or raw cleverness (like using technology). I know that's still going to be a big part, but its more intriguing for me to how TWST will handle stopping Malleus without obvious offense.

They'll only need to rely on one thing that humans are really great of practicing (more than faes): communication. Maybe the solution may be as simple as talking to Malleus that he needs to stop lol Because really, at this point, thats the most staple choice we have, anything else takes too much time💔😔

Not in the accusing way, but in a kind and understanding way. But, I know that's unlikely to happen knowing how "cringed" NRC is towards displaying kindness (which is often their downfall lol). But remember, the resolution at the fairy gala event? Where everyone was antagonizing the Diurnal Fairies, assuming they'll be stubborn and that they're thieves so they should take the stone without asking them, but then it turns out once they got caught and Silver talked with them apologetically and with understandingly, the Queen understood it and let the stone go...

Maybe Malleus would act like that Queen too?? After all, no one still talks with him about how "indeed, it is painful to suffer and lost, but there's merit in their existence, so we don't need to cut them out of our lives, because even those painful experiences helps us achieve our true dreams." or just a simple "You won't be alone even if Lilia passes away. I'm sure Lilia will be more happy to live his life and live it longer because he'll be remembered by Malleus even if he's just a memory now." or maybe a blunt "The world doesn't revolve around anyone, so Malleus has no rights to dictate how we should live our lives" lol

I feel like Malleus is just a person who never really thinks about other interpretations unless its been said to him... That's why I'm wishing that Book 7 resolves his overblot by not fully painting him as a "catastrophic dark fae" (like what the humans viewed Meleanor), like there'll be a balance between depicting him as a villain but also as a flawed person.

But yes I do agree that the biggest hurdle in defeating Malleus, may not just be his overpowered magic, but also his defiance in believing that he can understand humanity and humanity will understand him 😭😭

Malleus x Reader: Biology Nerd (Part II?)

Not really a part two just the same Yuu hanging out with Mal.

Reader is gender neutral but this is very self indulgent so they be fat, hairy, and may come across as masc. Also reader is Yuu.

Cuddling. There is so much cuddling. Just about every night Malleus would be floating outside Yuu's window, holding pajamas and a toothbrush. This occurred again and again, until Malleus's absence at night was finally noticed, and Sebek freaked out. The half fae's screams woke up the entire dorm. After that incident a lot more attention was put on Malleus's whereabouts. At first Sebek and Silver offered to join Malleus at the Ramshackle Dorm, but Malleus preferred his time with Yuu to be private. Lilia, being able to pick up on Malleus's little crush, found a solution. Have the child of man stay over at Diasomnia. As long as there weren't lectures the next day, Malleus and Yuu could stay up late doing whatever they wanted, and Sebek and Silver could check in as needed.

So, a new tradition started where, 1-2 times a week, Yuu would sleep over and spend the night in Malleus's room. Again, most nights were spent cuddling, talking, and enjoying each others company. Yuu was one of the few people where Malleus can have his scales, tail, and wings out and act normally around him. Well, as normal as Yuu can be. Though, Malleus's favorite thing about these visits was how Yuu would take care of him. Brushing his hair, polishing his horns, massaging his ears. His ears. It took Malleus using every bit of self control he has to remain still when Yuu touches his ears. Caressing the shell, rubbing the lobe. Malleus forced himself to take deep breaths and bite his lips to prevent himself from letting out a moan.

Malleus didn't have the heart to tell Yuu just what they were doing, how sensitive his ears are, how his cocks emerge from his slit. This became such a common occurrence that Malleus has become an expert at hiding his bulges, tucking them away, hiding them behind a pillow, excusing himself to the bathroom to take care of himself before returning. Did Yuu notice any of this weird behavior? Not really no.

Anytime Malleus did something a bit off, Yuu just assumed it was something either normal for him or just a fae thing. Malleus's dilated eyes, his awkward shifting with a pillow in his lap, the flush of his cheeks. Each thing Yuu could explain away. The eyes? Well, it is kinda dark in here. The pillow? Probably an erection, but that's just something the body does. The flushed cheeks and ears? Malleus isn't used to affection. Plus, if he's hard of course he'd be embarrassed! Yuu doesn't want to make it worse by pointing it out.

And so now they're here again, in Malleus's room. Malleus sits on his bed, pillow on his lap, and Yuu sits behind him. The human gently pulls away loose dead skin from the dragon fae's scales.

"I must thank you, child of man. Removing my shedding is often an inconvenience I'd rather not deal with. However, you've made my usual ordeal an enjoyable experience." Malleus hums and flexes his wings.

Yuu giggles. "You don't have to lie and make me feel better. I know you can just magic it off you."

Malleus is quiet for a beat before responding. "That is true. Removing my shedding is not an issue for me. It is a simple task. However, I did not lie when I stated you make the process enjoyable."

"Hm, yeah that checks out." Yuu focuses as they pick dead skin from between two scales. "Social grooming is a common behavior in social species. Makes sense humans and fae enjoy it."

Malleus thinks for a moment. "Yet you are the one always attending to me."

Yuu peels away the last bit of dead skin from Malleus's dark scales. "That's because I enjoy it too. It gives me something to focus on, something to do with my hands while I'm with you. Plus, you're really interesting to look at."

"Interesting to look at?" Malleus asks.

"Of course! Like-" Yuu runs their hand up Malleus's back to rest where the far's wings connect to his shoulder blades. "Even just your back is beautiful! There are multiple points that move and contract in a layered network of muscles in a way that is both very similar yet also drastically different to what I know. I can feel the movement every time you move your wings. And the way your scales shift and move over these muscles, an interlocking pattern that moves so perfectly on top of everything. It makes me think about the evolutionary process leading to this, and biological ancestry, clades, and categories of different spaient species here. How can I not enjoy myself?"

By the time Yuu finishes their thought, Malleus, tips of his ears dusted with pinkn has turned to face them. "Such an eye for detail for things I think nothing of. You explain your fascination with such passion. You truly have an admirable mind, child of man."

"I mean, you're the same way." Yuu responds.

"I am?"

"Your love for architecture, especially gargoyles. I admit there are times I don't understand what you're talking about exactly, but I enjoy listening to you. You always light up and it's really cute to see."

"Cute." Malleus let's the word sit in his tongue. "I should be used to the way you speak of me by now. But, I do agree. I enjoy listening to you even when I do not understand your words."

Yuu chuckles. "I'm glad to hear that. I know I tend to ramble. You can stop be to ask questions if you don't get it though."

"It is the same for me. You are free to interupt me with questions." Malleus responds. "And I do have a question for you."

"Oh? Shoot."

"What you said earlier about social grooming. Is it common for it to be... so one sided?" The fae asks.

"Well, it can depend on a lot of things, but no. Usually it goes both ways." Yuu answers. "What? Feel bad about me being your personal masseuse?"

Malleus's gaze travels along the human in front of him. Here he is, in nothing but his sleeping bottoms while Yuu sits in an oversized long sleeve shirt and sleeping shorts that stretch around Yuu's thighs. "That is part of it."

"And the other part is?"

"Our bodies are quiet different." Malleus notes. "Perhaps I wish to study yours as well.

"Oh..." Yuu is silent for a moment, shrugs, and then pulls their shirt over their head. "Yeah, that's fair."

Malleus does his best to keep his face calm, biting his lip slightly to keep him grounded. Yuu's plush torso decorated in a kayer of dark hair. The fat on the human's chest look so perfect, as if the soft flesh could fit into Malleus's hands perfectly. The human's soft stomach that Malleus has laid his head against again and again. He can't help but imagine how it would look, bouncing back and forth as the fae buries his cock at a brutal pace into the human. Malleus holds the pillow closer to his lap.

"I know I'm not that impressive, but, if I get to touch you, it's fair for you to touch me."

"Child of man." Malleus reaches out and cups Yuu's cheek in his hand. "You are beautiful."

Now Yuu's ears are the ones dusted with pink. "You don't have to lie to make me feel better."

"I am not lying." Malleus runs his hand down Yuu's neck and rests at the center of the human's chest. "You find my scales and the inner workings of my muscles to be beautiful. Can I not find your hair and your soft flesh beautiful as well?"

"That's no really-" Yuu looks down and hesitates. "Most people don't. At least where I'm from."

"Then I am glad you are here. I hope I can make you see just how beautiful you are."

Ghostly Happenings - Silver (Part 3)

Author Notes: Only one more section to go after this one! Anyhow, this is the third section of my Halloween/October twst fic series. Much of what I said about the first and second parts of this fic holds true for this one. The entire series is post Diasomnia overblot, hopefully non canon-compliant, and was greatly inspired by the 1947 movie "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir." I also listened to "Freaking Me Out" by Ava Max while writing this fic series. As per usual, reader is gender-neutral. I hope you enjoy!

Predictably, I didn’t get much sleep that night, and I was still exhausted even as I trudged into the bathroom to scrub the floors.

I hadn’t said anything to Grim about the identity of our new ghostly companion, and I hadn’t seen Silver since he’d disappeared last night.

To be honest, a part of me doubted that I’d ever even seen him and hadn’t just dreamed him up in one of those brief snatches of rest I had gotten.

After all, I had been reminiscing about my school days, and the memory of Silver was an indelible one. 

His death was something I would never forget. How could I, when it had happened the way it did after I’d just become close to him?

In addition to that, Silver always had looked like someone a person could only dream up. Being that attractive ought to be impossible. Though, to be fair, a lot of my classmates had been and remained unrealistically attractive. 

I’d always just assumed it was something about the water in this world.

I scrubbed at one particularly stained tile with a frown as I continued to muse to myself about the events of last night.

 It really did make more sense for me to have dreamed up Silver being the new ghost at Ramshackle. His being here didn’t make any sense. 

While it was true he probably was unhappy with the fact his life had been cut short, I couldn’t see Silver being someone to keep clinging to life. He’d always been so accepting of everything that came his way.

Not to say that he hadn’t been a fighter, but… He hadn’t struck me as someone who kept clinging to something after it was already over. He was graceful that way. It was something I’d always admired.

And then there was the matter of Lilia, Sebek, and Malleus. Silver would stay near them if he’d become a ghost. They were the people he’d been closest to. His family. He wouldn’t come and live at Ramshackle dorm, even if that was where a lot of ghosts liked to come.

I’d probably just dreamed up the events of last night due to missing him, regretting things that had happened, and having let myself wallow in nostalgia for a brief bit. 

I’d always had weird dreams since coming to Twisted Wonderland anyway. Plus, it wasn’t like I hadn’t ever dreamed of Silver before… It was just that they weren’t usually quite so realistic and usually left me waking up with a frown. Wishing I could just go back to sleep and re-enter my pleasant dreams rather than having to get up.

The worst part about my dream about ghostly Silver was that I couldn’t talk about it with anyone. They’d only worry about how I was living alone with just Grim and some ghosts.

Pretty much all of my friends would invite me to come live with them just for fear that the solitude was getting to me. And it would be kind of them to do so even after I’d already told them no several times.

Malleus, in particular, wouldn’t let the matter go. I knew perfectly well that he blamed himself for Silver’s death and had always regretted everything about his overblot including, my involvement in it, since, up until then, I had been his means of escape from the chains his own life held.

Bringing up a strange dream about Silver haunting me at Ramshackle would only serve to drag up those nasty old memories.

So I knew, for a fact, that Malleus would insist that I come and live at his palace in the Valley of Thorns so that I would no longer be alone. Because he knew and understood loneliness to a special degree that many didn’t.

I sighed to myself as I pondered the fae who remained a close friend of mine even after everything that had happened. He was one of the ones who always expressed so much concern as to how I was coping with continuing to live at Ramshackle dorm.

I had no doubts that he was, to a degree, projecting his past loneliness and sorrow onto me. Because that’s just the way Malleus was.

There was no way I could ever broach the subject of a ghostly Silver to him or any of my other friends from the Valley of Thorns. After all, Lilia had blamed himself much like Malleus did, and so did Sebek.

All of them persisted in blaming themselves even though, in reality, there was one person who bore far more blame when it came to Silver’s death….

I shook my head, annoyed with myself for even starting to go through that same dusty old thought process as I willed myself to stop thinking about the dream that continued to haunt me, much like how its contents would have been if it had been reality. And perhaps I wished it were reality.

But going down that line of thought was never a good idea and was precisely the reason I avoided thinking about Malleus’s overblot in particular. Nothing good ever came of it since it always brought silly little what-ifs to mind that could never come true.

Guilt-tripping myself wouldn’t fix anything. It wouldn’t bring Silver back, and it wouldn’t change anything at all. 

My fingers curled around the wet cloth in my hand as I focused hard on the floor. Swallowing thickly as I repeated that same harsh truth to myself as a way to ground myself from my own depressing thoughts.

Silver hadn’t come back just to haunt my home and spend time with me. And I couldn’t decide if that was a truth that relieved me or broke my heart.

I dropped the now-filthy rag back into my bucket of now-dirty water as the bell tolled that classes were about to start. I was right on time with finishing my cleaning as usual.

The bathroom was clean for the upcoming horde of students who may or may not maintain a reasonably clean state. But I wasn’t actually bitter about it. 

After all, I’d been far harder on this school than any of them had managed thus far, and I honestly prayed it stayed that way. I didn’t know if the teachers could handle that level of drama again.

Now all that was left to my day was a bit of mopping and cleaning up any accidents that occurred in alchemy or potionology. Both were, without a doubt, the messiest classes outside of P.E. And the lawn wasn’t part of my job, so P.E. was of no concern to me.

He hears it has to do with interesting pictures of (Y/N) on the calendar so he can’t go and check it out personally so he sends Rook to get him one.

Rook brings him the calendar, Vil asks to be left alone. When alone, Vil starts going through every page, paying attention to all the details from the angle of the photo to the makeup of (Y/N). The whole photoshoot could have been better but he supposes it is enough for a baby potato.

Vil is impressed by (Y/N)’s boldness and how they use their body to earn money. He tells Rook that he disposed of the calendar meanwhile he actually keeps it in his bedside drawer. He will check it out when he wants to destress though no one but he will know about it. He has an image to keep. He also wants to make comments on how to dress better, better makeup and photo angles to (Y/N) but then they would know he keeps the calendar.

Rook Hunt

Rook was ecstatic about what Vil asked him to buy (Y/N)’s calendar. He was observing people and their reaction to it and he has seen some of the pictures when other students were flipping through the pages.

He buys one for himself when he goes to buy one for Vil. Rook says that he will scrutinize each picture to (Y/N) while making eye contact, which causes (Y/N) to laugh nervously.

After Rook delivers Vil’s calendar to him, he goes back to his room. He starts with January and his eyes roam on every detail. He memorizes their figure, then he moves on the other months, spending minutes on each one, learning every part of (Y/N)’s body. He also thinks December one is extra charming, maybe they had done it for him.

Rook find all pictures beautiful and writes a poem for each one of them about how he sees them and how they make him feel. He will sign those poems to (Y/N) when he sees them next time whether or not they are alone. He thinks they can be of use to spend his alone time other than hunting.

Epel Felmier

There weren’t many people around Epel’s age in his village and his parents didn’t tell him about this type of stuff. He hears people talking about (Y/N)’s calendar and thinks it is just a calendar, not knowing what type of calendar it is.

He buys one for himself as a way to support (Y/N). He doesn’t even check what is in it and walks back to his room.

He was planning to throw it to a corner of his room and never look at it since calendars are useless nowadays but at the same time, he didn’t want (Y/N) to hear he threw away their work to trash so it would have stayed in his room forever. Then he hears his classmates and dormmates teasing him about it, how he is into that stuff yet not looking like someone who would be into that.

Epel checks the content right then and there which causes his cheeks to flare. He rushes to his room and tries to calm down. After cooling off, he again looks at their pictures. He thinks he shouldn’t look at them and have certain thoughts but he can’t help himself. He will not mention this to anyone but he is certain Rook knows what he does on Epel’s free time with that calendar.

Idia Shroud

Idia doesn’t really care what happens in NRC as long as he or Ortho isn’t concerned. He learns about the existence of (Y/N)’s calendar during the online gaming session with his dormmates. He certainly knows what type of calendar they are talking about since he has the same thing for anime characters.

He isn’t one to follow trends but it is about (Y/N) so he wants to buy one for himself but he can’t send Ortho to buy for him and (Y/N) doesn’t sell online. Henceforth, Idia walks out of his room at night, thinking that there would be fewer people but he was wrong. He waits around Ramshackle until the crowd is dispersed then he knocks on the door and extends the money while asking for the calendar. The less interaction is better for him.

Idia dashes back to his room the second be buys the calendar. Since Ortho is in the room, he hides it in his coat. He doesn’t take off his coat until Ortho goes to sleep mode. He then goes under his blankets and turns on the small light he made to read manga at night.

Idia knows he is getting off by just taking a peek at the pictures but he can’t help it. Once he is done with the whole calendar, he hides it where his hentai and playboy calendars are. Since there is a chance that Ortho waking up because of his erratic breathing and fast heartbeat, he can’t take any action so he just goes to take a cold shower to get rid of the tent in his pants.

He will make sure Ortho will never see or hears about the calendar so he will pull a Black Mirror on Ortho.

Malleus Draconia

Malleus never knows what is going on in NRC since he keeps to himself most of the time and at other times, he is not invited to things. He usually finds out things from Lilia.

He goes to Ramshackle in the middle of the night, as usual, hoping to see (Y/N). (Y/N) sees him and comes to his side with something on their hand. They greet each other and then (Y/N) offers him what they are holding asking if they want to buy their homemade calendar. Malleus doesn’t use calendars made by humans since fae’s and human’s concepts are different but he agrees to buy. They say it is nothing personal as they just try to make living.

Malleus wonders how human calendars look so when he transports to his room, he starts looking at it. His eyes widen as he has never seen this much explicit content before which would be considered inappropriate in The Valley of Thorns. He knows he shouldn’t look at those pictures but he can’t help himself as he checks out each page countless times. He puts the calendar on his desk in his room.

Malleus asks Lilia if what he feels is what he was taught about mates and mating and he patiently listens to Lilia’s answer. He also orders Lilia to buy every single copy of this calendar since he thinks (Y/N) is only doing this to “make living”.

Lilia Vanrouge

Lilia knows what’s going on the second sales blow up and he knows the nature of the calendar. He is amused by what humans can create and impressed by (Y/N)’s bravery.

He is one of the first ones to buy. He teleports in front of all the customers and hangs upside down as he asks for one copy for himself and for Silver and Sebek. He hopes Malleus will find out this by himself.

Lilia gets back to the dorm and gives the gifts to Silver and Sebek and just teleports to his room. He has seen them all and has done them all. He wonders if (Y/N)’s picture will have an effect on him.

Lilia is amused that the pictures managed to stir something in him and is going to use them for his personal destressing time. Lilia will ask (Y/N) to make the following year’s calendar too in case they won’t be in Twisted Wonderland for it.

Silver

Silver isn’t aware of what’s going on in the NRC as he was spending his time sleeping or guarding Malleus.

When Silver was eating a snack, Lilia comes and gives him a calendar. He asks why he would buy him such a gift since they don’t need one but Lilia disappears without answering.

Silver takes it to his room when it is night time and he is going to sleep properly in his bed. He prepares for bed, taking the calendar with him to check out his gift. He freezes when he sees such lewd pictures of (Y/N). He wonders what he father wants him to do with this. He received The Talk from him but he is unsure of what to do.

Silver falls asleep while looking at the pictures. His dreams are filled with those pictures where Silver and (Y/N) do certain things. Silver wants to talk about this with his father but he forgets the plot of the dream.

Sebek Zigvolt

Sebek doesn’t care what that magicless human of Ramshackle does. He just focuses on guarding Malleus. He doesn’t care to know what the calendar fuzz is about.

He cannot refuse a gift from Lilia even if the gift is the homemade calendar. Lilia tells him to use that as a way of destressing and that he is likely to become less uptight after using it.

Sebek takes this advice to the heart. As soon as he is done with his knightly duties and has eaten dinner. He promises Lilia that he will use it throughout without knowing what that actually means.

Sebek opens the calendar and drops it when he sees the first image. He recalls The Talk he received from his father and knows what Lilia meant when he told him to use it. He considers it as an order and starts to work on it. He doesn’t want to admit that it actually helped him to relax. Yet, when Lilia sees him the next morning, he knows what Sebek did.

Scary Monsters! Story Summary (Part 1)

I don’t think anyone’s translated this story yet so I’ll just summarize it

The more events we have, the more I’m convinced that they take place in an alternative timeline or something. I don’t know if this was confirmed in the guidebook though

Wow I still can’t summarize for shit

Episode 1-1 Everyone should have fun

- Another day of school ends for MC and Grim

- Grim randomly mentions that there’s too much distance between the Ramshackle Dorm and the school (isn’t it the opposite though?)

- When they get back to their dorm they are stunned to discover that the front yard has become a weird mix of Chinatown and Halloween

- Lilia shows up (and introduces himself again, hmm) and scares us, apparently everything there is made by the Diasomnia dorm students

- This is our first time seeing Diasomnia mobs, who are arranging the decorations in the yard

- Deadbeat Crowley strikes again! Apparently he told Diasomnia that MC and Grim agreed to let them set this stuff up

- MC asks why all the decorations, and Lilia explains that it’s for Halloween! Apparently Malleus insisted that they spend Halloween at the Ramshackle Dorm

- the ghosts are out and they’re impressed by how extravagant it all is and even encourage them to do more without minding us (thanks guys)

- Grim doesn’t know what Halloween is, shocking everyone

Episode 1-2 It’s our festival!!

- The ghosts explain that Halloween is an important event in Twisted Wonderland

- Lilia explains that it’s when all the ghosts return to this world from the other world; the decorations are to entertain them

- Everyone wears costumes like ghosts and monsters because many ghosts like to play tricks on people (since there’s not much opportunities to interact with the living); these ghosts can be dispersed by giving them candy

- Lilia mentions there are also evil ghosts that can’t be controlled (foreshadowing much?)

- Lilia implies that he knows about the ghosts we met in the mine???　Or something like that??? (”I think you two also have experience with ghosts who do bad things?”)

- Wearing costumes is for scaring those evil ghosts back and driving them away...but that’s just a story from a long time ago, and now it’s just for fun cosplay

- Ghosts say not to worry about anything, Halloween was always like this since they became ghosts

- the living can’t actually see ghosts since they’re not supposed to stay in this world unless they have strong attachments or goals, so the ghosts who do stay in this world are very unstable existences *cough* Eliza *cough*; they can’t be seen in places other than places like NRC where there’s strong magical energy, so yeah ghosts are actually rare

- Ghosts emphasize that it doesn’t matter whether or not you can see ghosts or not, Halloween is supposed to be fun and that’s all that matters

- MC says that Halloween is also pretty famous in their hometown

- Ghosts (in front of Lilia): Oh MC you have Halloween back in your world too? What a coincidence (How many people know MC is from another world??)

- Lilia doesn’t seem surprised so I assume he knew

- NRC has a special Halloween event too, which we will learn about soon

Episode 1-3 It’s quite photogenic

- The ghosts start snapping pictures with their phones (yeah that’s right)

- They bought them this year online 

- Grim is jealous because he has to share with MC

- They have a MagiCam account too, they only have 5 followers

- Grim is surprised they show up on camera since usually that can only happen with the ghost camera

- Lilia explains that since Halloween is the time of the year where this world and the other world are the closest, so this is when ghosts are the most powerful which is why they can show up in photos; it’s just in NRC tho

- They tell us to look forward to Halloween

Episode 1-4 The best Halloween

- The next day in class, Crewel says it’s one month to Halloween and everyone’s excited

- Ace and Deuce are also excited, talking about decorations and stuff; even the Ignihyde students come out of their rooms for Halloween

- Crewel: The week before Halloween is “Halloween Week”, which is when the students run a stamp rally event for outsiders

- Each dorm choose a place in the school as a spot for the stamp rally and decorate it; what’s important is that anyone can freely participate--in other words, guests from outside freely walk around the school

- The reason for this is to thank the people who live on this “Sage’s Island” (where NRC is located) for their understanding and cooperation, and it’s a chance to show them how much the students have grown and stuff

- In order for the event to move smoothly, each dorm sends out students as staff on the management committee

- Naturally, this is the first time we’re hearing of this (thanks Crowley)

- Deuce tells us not to worry and ask him if we have any questions since he’s part of the committee (it’s chosen by lottery)

- Also there’s a Halloween party on the 31st  which everyone can join, students and ghosts included

- Ace’s brother showed him pictures of the food

- It’s next to prom as a big event at NRC (yeah prom exists too)

Episode 1-5 Are you ready?

- A month later, 8 days before Halloween

- the committee gathers, it’s composed of Deuce, Cater, Jack, Azul, Jade, Kalim, Vil, Epel, Idia, Lilia, and Malleus

- Deuce was an hour early to the meeting lol

- Idia is there in person

- Vil is the head of the committee, he talks about the stamp rally and how guests who collect all seven stamps get candy at the entrance gates

- Cater: “Wow Headmaster you’re so generous!” Jade: “It’s a small bag of candy that isn’t even 100 madol” (I wonder about the finances of the school sometimes)

- The stamp rally is from 10 am to 10 pm, they have to be there at all times so they’re excused from classes, taking turns in each dorm

- It’s going to be a hectic time but everyone’s fired up

- They decide to go around and see all the different dorm setups and costumes, Diasomnia is first

- Malleus chose Ramshackle for the stamp rally place because it’s a dump basically (Deuce: Sorry MC)

Episode 1-6 They are crying with joy!!

- The committee’s at Ramshackle; Sebek is as Sebek as ever

- Malleus and Lilia change into their costumes which is eastern dragon ghosts

- Diasomnia was traditional ghosts last year but decided to change it up this year

- Sebek is simping so hard he’s crying lol

- Vil made the costumes for them; he complains that Malleus gave an 1 hour lecture about how “eastern dragons (ryuu) and dragons are completely different” after he said that it was meaningless for Malleus, who is a dragon, to dress up as a dragon

- Malleus goes at it again and is apparently talking very quickly like Idia, what a nerd lol

- Crowley says that when the rally first began, everyone just wore sheets over their heads, but some students started putting more effort into it and then everyone started doing it too and the dorms are basically competing against each other 

- Silver says that the Ramshackle decorations are inspired by a country Lilia travelled to before; Lilia says that some ryuu are even the guardian deity for a family

- All the decorations use up a lot of magic to maintain, as expected of Diasomnia

- Next they’re going to Heartslabyul’s spot, which is near the greenhouse

Episode 1-7 For a scary taste

- They’re in the Sub-Tropical Zone, where it’s decorated with the theme of graveyard, and the costumes are skeletons with white ribbons as the bones

- They had a hard time balancing authenticity and the fun of Halloween

- Deuce suggested they be “skeletons covered in mud” lol

- Cater was the one who came up with the idea of using ribbons and lace from looking through his MagiCam likes

- The heart you can see through the “ribcage” is made of roses

- the gravestones are made of styrofoam

- The Heartslabyul students are used to working hard for Unbirthday Parties and following rules so it wasn’t hard for Deuce to order his upperclassman around; it’s actually more relaxing since there aren’t so many weird rules

- Malleus: As expected of Rosehearts, you discipline your students well every day Riddle: That makes me sound like a tyrant! (Uh...)

- Next is the alchemy classroom where Octavinelle has their spot

Episode 1-8 The richest

- Everyone agrees that the classroom is too creepy and will probably make little kids cry

- Floyd: I know right??

- The Octavinelle costumes are mummies

- They decided on that because it’s the complete opposite of merpeople

- They combined the old-fashioned image of mummies with style

- The decoration theme is “Mad scientist’s lab”

- The culture tank looking thing lights up at night

- Everything was finished up by a contractor since they’re busy with making a Halloween menu for Mostro Lounge

- Kalim is confused since all the dorms get the same amount of money for decorations and costumes

- Apparently Jade is in charge of accounting and he’s supposed to make sure no one goes over budget or there’s no weird money transfers and stuff like that (Who assigned him this job?)

- Jade: Me? Do something suspicious? Why I never! 

- What they focused most on was cost optimisation

- It involves haggling and using old stuff; they used up all their budget

- The remaining money from the other dorms will be used for the halloween party

- TLDR Octavinelle is scary

- Next is Scarabia, near the shop

Episode 1-9 Isn’t it an awesome idea?

- They arrive at the shop which looks all messed up

- Jade: It’s just like MC’s Ramshackle Dorm 

- Scarabia’s costume is werewolf

- Jack says there’s a legend in his hometown about becoming a werewolf if you stay up late

- Kalim tries to act scary but fails bc he’s too cute

- Jade: It’s like a visiting a petting zoo

- Kalim says that the rugs and fabrics they used for the decorations are all made from plastic bottles and recycled plastics, and that they’re aiming for a society where humans and nature coexist happily--in other words “Sustainable Halloween”

- It’s all Jamil’s idea of course

- Next is Savanaclaw at the colisseum

Episode 1-10 We worked hard!

- there’s a ship 

- Savanaclaw’s costume is pirates

- Jack talks about reading a book about a pirate who fought against a giant crocodile in elementary school and how he pretended to be a pirate

- It’s a famous series apparently, called the Adventures of Captain Beard

- Wow Leona is acting like a dorm leader for once? This really is an alternate timeline

- You can go inside the ship and Ruggie made the gold coins

- Even Idia is impressed by how good the replica is

- Everyone is shocked when it’s revealed that the Savanaclaw students made everything by hand; they’re able to do it because of training everyday for magift

- Next is Ignihyde in the library

Episode 1-11 This much is just common knowledge

- Ignihyde does projections of jack o’lanterns and creepy looking trees

- Ignihyde’s costume is a pumpkin knight

- The pumpkin knight is from a horror movie called “Pumpkin Hollow” which no one except Idia has heard of

- The pumpkin knight is filled with the hatred of uneaten, undecorated and thrown away pumpkins and it returns to the village it was harvested in to attack people each night

- the decorations are recreated from the movie and Idia is supposed to show up as the pumpkin knight

- Idia can talk normally bc his face is covered

- Now for the last dorm, Pomefiore in the mirror chamber

Episode 1-12 The Dual Play of Terror and Beauty

- Idia can walk around in the armor easily because it’s made of light materials, and the sound effects come from a speaker (what a nerd)

- Usually, the mirror chamber is closed to outsiders, but Halloween Week is an exception

- Photography of the mirror of darkness is forbidden since it’s so important

- They get there and it’s...not decorated at all!!

- Rook explains that the mirror chamber is already beautiful so there’s no need for decorations

- Vil: Our existence is the greatest collaboration that will make the mirror chamber stand out; it’s important to dress to match the location

- Pomefiore’s costume is vampires

- Everyone’s speechless by the beauty lol

- They also focused a lot on the makeup so it will give the impression of captivating vampires or something like that

- the aim is “degenerating beauty”

- Vil and Rook are both sad that vampires can’t look in mirrors, so they can’t see their beauty lol; that is why they are so attracted to the mirror chamber (I think this is their backstory or something)

- They only put up signs banning photography

- Crowley: Look! The mirror’s happy too! Mirror: ...

- Halloween Week starts tomorrow

1. You just woke up in a coffin trapped with this talking rat thing that swears he isn’t a tanuki. How do you actually react?

✦ Well that entirely depends on whether I’m aware of the fact I’m in a game or not. If I retain my knowledge of twst then I follow the game path (and accept that I have to live with the talking rat from now on). If this is all completely new to me then I would most likely go with the flow, I’d realise that something completely unnatural has happened and try to adapt to the situation. I’d also interrogate the talking rat thing and try to find out more information

2. Let’s pretend for a second that you’re not at the mercy of a magic mirror and incompetent bird dad, choose which dorm you would like to be a part of. Why, and do you think the mirror would agree?

✦ This is hard… I would choose to be part of Octavinelle, I mean… the visual design of the dorm rocks. Plus they do well in tests, so I could persuade my dormmates to tutor me. The mirror probably wouldn’t agree with me. I’ve taken a couple ‘What Twisted Wonderland dorm are you?’ type quizzes, and I usually get put in Heartslabyul. Maybe I should send someone a dorm sorting request and see what happens?

3. Going back to twst reality, where you don’t have magic and get sentenced to Ramshackle; what is your first thought upon seeing this safety hazard of a building? What’s the first thing you choose to fix there?

✦ My first thought is ‘no’. The first thing I choose to fix is the fact that I live there. Surely I can make a deal with Azul to have a spare room in Octavinelle. He can have Ramshackle in exchange. I know he wants that second location for the lounge

4. In an alternate reality where you don’t immediately get lumped together with Ace and Deuce, who in the school becomes your best friend(s)?

✦ Epel and Rook seem interesting to be around, I don’t know a ton about either of them, but going off of my general idea about the two, I could see myself hanging around them. Epel I’d probably befriend pretty quickly, Rook maybe not so much. Unless being from another world is enough to make up my lack of beauty or interesting qualities. Other characters I could potentially befriend would be Kalim, Jamil, Trey, and Idia

5. Which existing club would you give a shot? Any particular reason why?

✦ Board games club! You guys should’ve seen when I got Risk and nobody wanted to play with me because it was so long… in the board games club they’d have to join me, right? Also I just wanna vibe with Idia and Azul

6. Don’t be shy, we know there’s a certain someone who’s caught your eye! Who are they? How did you meet?

✦ … Jamil. I’d assume we meet through Kalim. I met Kalim, vibed with him and we started hanging out together, and then Jamil came to find Kalim for one reason or another, meeting me in the process or if we’re following the game plot, we’d meet when I was investigating the mysterious injuries surrounding magishift players

7. Which of the events was the most exciting for you?

✦ Ghost marriage. Sitting on the sidelines and watching everyone get slapped would be legendary, and all those outfits? Even better. Of course I’d feel bad for Idia, but that doesn’t really change how amusing the rest of the event would be

8. Ghosts: delightful dorm mates or unholy terrors?

✦ That entirely depends on their reaction to my 2 am singing, they might become nightmare fuel just to get me to shut up for a minute. Otherwise the ghosts are honorary dorm members, who have an obligation to listen to me, their dorm leader I’m officially the mc now

9. Choose a champion (no further context, just pick).

✦ Leona. As long as he’s actually awake/motivated to get up and do champion stuff, I think he’d be well suited... I say, having absolutely no idea what the context for this is. If this whole champion thing requires motivation however, I’d pick Jamil instead

10. Would you rather (a) film a movie with Vil, (b) play a round of magic shift with Leona, or (c) go gargoyle sighting with Malleus?

✦ Film a movie with Vil, the other options aren’t even up for debate

11. Thoughts on fairies?

✦ Cool as hell. Those are not things we have here and that is honestly a shame. I’m kinda interested in all the different types of fairies and what distinguishes them. Like is it just physical differences or do the different fae have special abilities of their own?

12. “Magic mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?” (Choose wisely now)

✦ Vil, I would rather not be poisoned by him for saying otherwise

✦ First of all, laugh at him. Then probably join him tbh, depends on who he’s stalking

✦ Land of Pyroxene

✦ Rat bastard who needs to stop eating overblot rocks. Or if he’s gonna eat them, at least wait until I’ve experimented on them to find out what they are and what they can do

17. If you had magic, what would be your unique magic?

✦ Now this is a hard one. I’d say… an ability that draws attention to or from someone. So the magic could make it so that everyone turns and pays attention to the target, or that everyone ignores them, making them essentially invisible. I don’t have a name for the magic right now because I only just came up with it

18. Favourite ship? 

✦ Marcela x Lilia. Not because I think it’s a good ship, but because if they did get together it would be so chaotic. It’s just for the memes

19. Favourite theory?

✦ Silver being twisted from the sword that kills Maleficent. I don’t know who first came up with the theory, but I’ve seen it mentioned multiple times by different people. I like it ‘cause it’d be an interesting narrative, and hint at a possibility of betrayal. A character twisted from a villain and another character twisted from what killed them, nice

20. The school year is coming to a close, how are you feeling? Any thoughts?

✦ Please tell me I can continue on as a second year. I’m feeling kinda annoyed that I can’t use magic, but seeing everyone overblot, I figure it might be for the best that I can’t

✦ Potion shenanigans. Perhaps an event where a dodgy potion resulted in some body swapping or something? Or they pull an Emperor’s New Groove and turn someone into a llama. I think I prefer the llama idea. Please twst give me a llama event

Chemistry Between the Dorm Leaders and a Hero-Inspired S/O— (pt.1)

After that Snow White request, I had a small idea... so here are headcanons for each dorm leader with an s/o inspired by the heroes of their respective films. I had some hesitation with both Vil and Leona, since their heroes are the Evil Queen’s stepdaughter and Scar’s nephew respectively... I could get past the Snow White one bc Vil’s so different from the Evil Queen, but the Simba one weirded me out too much ;; so I substituted him for Nala. Sorry !!

Of course, this is disregarding the original characters’ ages and assuming they’re all students at Night Raven, in the same dorm as their villain. Please let me know if there’s a problem with anything though !!

Riddle & Alice

I remember Alice as a bratty, opinionated girl who is dissatisfied with her normal life and prefers to escape to her imagination. Very stubborn, but also very sensible. Pairing these traits with Riddle’s hotheadedness and severe need to keep things under his command, I don’t think they would make a very good match. Alice constantly rolls her eyes at all of his decisions, and blatantly refuses to listen to him if she doesn’t agree with what he says.

It would be extremely difficult for these two to even tolerate each other. Alice sticks out to Riddle because she’s the only one who doesn’t fear him—but that might not be a good thing. He develops a “You will fear me, you will obey me” type mindset, to which she responds with an unimpressed, “Oh, really?”

Riddle gets so fed up with her that he marches down to Headmaster Crowley and demands that Alice be relocated to a different dorm—“She’d be great for Pomefiore, with all the other stuck-ups.” (Dire says no).

As much as she loathes Riddle though, Alice might enjoy some of his nonsensical rules. She hates boring things like order and routine, instead craving the thrill of things unique and unpredictable. Riddle is taken aback when one day she exclaims how much fun she’s having during one of his sudden events, which had annoyed and tired out everyone else. He’s not sure how to react.

He spends a long time thinking about this, and then curiosity gets the better of him; he tries to experiment to see if he can do anything else that doesn’t make her turn her nose up at him. So basically, this is his odd way of figuring out her interests - and he realizes she’s not just automatically appalled by everything he does; she’s simply very opinionated. He might even start to appreciate the fact that she’s got such a strong grip of her views and morals.

It takes much longer for Alice to fall in love with Riddle, though. She has such a great distaste for him that there’s no way she’ll even consider falling in love with him. She would have to catch him in a vulnerable state to realize there’s more to him than simply yelling at everyone all the time - maybe when he’s stressed from school, or sleeping, or witnessing him experiencing true happiness (perhaps with his friends? does he even have friends?) And then she, too, having a natural curiosity, might try to learn more about him.

Tbh, the only thing that might help bring them together is the fact that both of them are way too nosy for their own good.

Azul & Ariel

Like Alice, Ariel is very curious, stubborn, and determined, but she can be a little gullible and naive at times. She’s been sheltered her whole life and Night Raven is the first time she’s been away from home for so long. Azul, on the other hand, is very independent; he’s somewhat of an information broker, good at observing people and seeing what makes them tick - and also swindling what he wants out of them. Naive little Ariel makes a perfect target.

Azul is very gentlemanly and polite, enticing and friendly, so Ariel is immediately swayed. She pretty much falls into the honeymoon phase with him straight away, but not truly in love; she’s just excited to be socializing with a nice boy.

It’s easy for Azul to trap her in a deceptive contract with ambiguous conditions. He doesn’t have any personal interest in her initially, but Ariel responds to his betrayal with vigor and goes above and beyond in trying to void the contract. It is only here that Azul starts taking more of an interest in her, since she’s now causing problems for him and therefore in the way.

But, even he has to appreciate her fierce determination to get out of this contract. He even stops at one point to consider why he’s been trying so hard to prevent her from getting out of it; Ariel is nothing but sweet and pure, so why is he so intent on inconveniencing her? He tries to convince himself that his original mindset is the same as it was before: Ariel was unable to pay the price he had set. Perhaps under misleading terms, but it’s her fault for not reading the contract carefully enough - therefore he can’t give her any leeway until he’s collected his payment. Even so, a part of him feels regretful.

However, Ariel has developed a (rightfully) bitter attitude towards Azul, and even though he understands why, it still leaves a sour taste in his mouth. Witnessing how beautiful of a personality she has has made him rethink his whole view of her - and a part of him wishes they were on better terms.

If Azul was serious about remedying their relationship, it would take a serious amount of effort on his part to regain her trust. Ariel can be naive, but she’s not stupid; and she’s already established that Azul is not an ally. But, in the case that he is able to prove himself to her, then the same elation she had when she first met him would resurface.

For their relationship to work, Azul would need to be the one who’s most committed. He already has a personality Ariel would immediately grow infatuated with, so it really depends on him being able to truly become someone she can trust and rely on - and make sure she knows that too.

Kalim & Aladdin

These two are hopeless idiots together. They come from vastly different backgrounds: while Kalim grew up with basically everything handed to him on a silver platter, Aladdin comes from a poor family and barely scraped by in his youth. They share a common resourcefulness, though, as they both are very talented at making do with whatever situation they’ve landed in (but, Kalim always has the advantage of wealth and power).

While Aladdin might be initially turned off by Kalim’s extravagant wastefulness, he also admires it greatly; much like his canon love for Jasmine, he is struck by beauty and wealth and only dreams about what it might be like to live with such greatness. This overpowers his slight aversion for him.

It’s easy for Kalim and Aladdin to become friends. Aladdin is funny and bright, with a knack for socializing since he’s come across so many people from being in such open, unstable living conditions before. Overall, he’s just very easy to slide into conversation with and feel like you’ve known him forever. Kalim is also very extroverted, but in more of a you-will-pay-attention-to-me-now forceful kind of way. Like Jamil, Aladdin is one of the few people who doesn’t tire out from Kalim’s constant energy & semi-sheltered mindset.

Once they find out their shared extroversion is very compatible, Kamil and Aladdin talk nonstop. Aladdin is a natural storyteller, and loves sharing about all his experiences from his childhood. He had to be very independent and willing to defy authorities in order to secure his survival, while also helping all the other orphans and street rats obtain food and shelter as much as he could. Kalim finds this extremely admirable. To him, Aladdin is almost like a literal prince - he rose from nothing and now is thriving at the prestigious Night Raven College. Also, he seems to have turned out fairly normal for someone who suffered so many hardships as a child.

But evidently, the closer the get, the more Kalim realizes Aladdin is not as normal as he makes himself out to be. His traumas from his youth have and are still affecting him, and once Kalim sees this different, more somber side of Aladdin, he becomes desperate to help him any way he can. He first takes him on a “date.” This isn’t meant to be romantic, just a nice all-expenses-paid trip to give Aladdin something nice.

Jamil is surprised because this is the first time Kalim has ever thought about anyone other than himself. But then, once the “dates” keep happening, Jamil realizes there’s more between them than just Kalim “being nice.” Things might escalate between them both, and while the final trigger for Aladdin was Kalim’s little acts of kindness, there had been something clear between them since the beginning.

Vil & Snow White

This sort of piggybacks off the headcanons I wrote here.

Snow White is sweet and pure of heart, a girl who doesn’t fully realize when someone might be taking advantage of her. She is gentle and sweet when she talks to you, but also doesn’t mind keeping to herself for long periods of time. On the other hand, Vil is vain and proud, constantly needs attention, and keeps his own appearance as his top priority. He always makes sure his connections are up to his own beauty standards too, and if Snow White enters his social circle, this includes her. Fortunately, there’s not much for him to do, because she is already extremely beautiful.

Vil takes interest in her because of her beauty. He feels a bit threatened by it in the beginning, but every time he talks to her, she always, always acts like the nicest, most genuine human being he’d ever met. He gets a little frustrated because he wants to hate her for being so much more beautiful than him, but she’s so ridiculously precious.

Snow White doesn’t mind Vil much. Like with everyone, it’s basically impossible for her to view him in a bad light, and she respects him as Pomefiore’s dorm leader. That being said, he’s not a major interest for her - she has a very tight-knit circle of 3 or 4 girl friends who she spends most of her time with.

Their interactions are usually initiated by Vil. Half the time, it’s because he can’t understand how she’s so nice all the time, so he tries to draw out a negative reaction from her.

But with enough time spent together, the opposite effect happens. Snow White develops a small crush on him. She starts getting flustered whenever he talks to her, and even more fidgety and precious - and even more, starts picking up his little mannerisms and habits. She sometimes points out whenever she notices something’s changed in his appearance.

Then, it’s Vil’s turn to feel flustered. She noticed. She notices whenever he does his hair differently, or when he paints his nails a new color, or when he wears a new arrangement of jewelry. He’s taken aback when his own heart starts fluttering whenever he’s around her, and soon he drops his mission to find fault with her and refocuses his attention on trying to avoid her. He has no time for falling in love.

But now Snow White is the one nervously trying to get his attention. And he's fallen so head over heels for her, he can’t not interact with her - and would feel too bad if he was mean to her. For a while, there’s a lot of tension between them, and Vil feels hideously awkward. He hates it. So he tries to finally confess, as slyly as he can.

Snow White isn’t very good at reading between the lines, but Vil isn’t very good at being subtle when he’s struck by so much emotion - so their feelings for each other come to light very quickly. There isn’t much verbal communication between them when they “confess,” though - Snow is too shy and Vil can’t admit anything unless he’s not being serious. But, if they do establish that they love each other, their relationship would be stable and warm from both parties.

How was AFI?

Oh man, it was honestly a life changing experience. So the concertstarted at 9 pm and me and my awesome friend got there at 12 pm. Oh and did Imention that it was fucking hot?? It was literally 110 degrees, and if you knowanything about Kansas you know that the majority of the heat was humidity. Butluckily when we got to The Midland (which is where they played) we found thislittle crook of shade so we put all our stuff in that and camped out. While wewere sitting there it came out that we were the first people (and almost only)who were actually from Kansas. I spoke to a couple of AFI fans while we werewaiting for hours and most of them were pretty cool and really nice. While wewere waiting I went across the street to the really fancy grocery store to goto the bathroom. I go in and I end up talking to this neat dude whose like anuber fan and has been to almost all the shows on The Blood Tour. While we weretalking it got brought up that apparently Circa Survive wasn’t playing thatnight. Which honestly I was kinda glad about cuz I didn’t really know anythingabout Circa Survive. But I felt so shitty because my friend came with me cuzshe’s a Circa fan! Luckily when I told her she wasn’t upset or anything andsaid she would’ve came anyway. Apparently a lot of other people in line alsodidn’t know that Circa wasn’t playing, but no one was mad about it (I guess alot of people just assumed that because all the other shows on this leg of thetour are with Circa Survive, but I guess KC was the exception.) I was also a little worried because people kept saying thatthe tour shirt didn’t even mention the KC stop on it, but luckily they werewrong! (it doesn’t have the right date on there, but it definitely says KC). Sofinally at about 8 something they start letting us in, and by that point myfriend got like a pinched nerve from sitting on the ground for too long, so sheended up just sitting in the lobby for the concert (which honestly may havebeen a good thing because she probably would’ve gotten crushed in that crowd).I immediately go to the merch table and while I’m buying my shirts my awesomefriend goes and saves me a spot so close to the stage. I get to the spot andthe girl standing right next to me is wearing the same shirt as me! (which isfunny because we were the ONLY people there wearing that shirt. We both knew itwas an older AFI tour shirt, but we both couldn’t remember exactly where we gotit from haha.) She was pretty cool and so was her husband. Before the concertstarted, she leans over and goes, “so you’re gay and I gotta ask… Do you thinkDavey and Jade are gay?? I always thought they were in a relationship.” And I’mjust like ha well they’ve never really straight out said what they’resexualities are, but I know that Davey’s really never been the one for labels.I honestly don’t think they’re 100% straight, but I can’t really say if they’regay or not since I don’t personally know them. (Granted tho they’ve been in aband for over 20 years and if you haven’t been at least a little gay with yourbest friend, then you’re not really best friends haha.) So finally the concert starts and Citizen comes out. Now I had only really heard ofCitizen by their lyric pics on tumblr and a couple of seconds of some of theirsongs. But I gotta say, I was pretty impressed. Besides the fact that there wasn’t a good mic check before playing, I thought it went pretty well. Icould hear all the instruments clearly and that whole band was really puttingtheir all in. It was a little awkward since no one really knew their songs sowe just kinda stood there and listened and clapped. After that performance I’lldefinitely be checking out more of their music. I really wanted to saysomething to them after the concert, but they pretty much grabbed all theirequipment and bolted (they probably just wanted to get back on the road asap.)After Citizen it was about 20 minutes before it finally happened. Adam came outfirst and got set up, then Hunter, then Davey, and Jade. Where I was standing Igot an amazing view of Davey and Jade. Sadly tho I wasn’t able to get any pics of Hunter because he was on theleft side of the stage, and I couldn’t get any pics of Adam during the concertbecause of the way his drums were lit up you couldn’t see his face. They startoff playing Girl’s not Grey and it literally felt like I was seeing the face ofGod. Davey locked eyes with me for like 1 second and then he reached his handright across in front of me and I brushed it with my fingertips because I wasnervous and didn’t want to be pushy. And let me tell you about this setlistholy fuck. So like I said they started off with Girl’s not Grey, then they wentinto Love like Winter (which was the first song I ever heard by them so thatwas awesome), then So Beneath You, then 17 Crimes (which is one of my favsongs/music videos), and then Malleus Maleficarum (which is when everyone losttheir fucking minds and started shoving like crazy), then Get Hurt (which wasthe first time they ever played that live!), then Lost Souls (which is whenDavey stepped into the crowd and I FUCKING TOUCHED HIS BACK HE WAS RIGHT THEREIN FRONT OF ME AND I HAVE VIDEO PROOF), then The Leaving Song pt. 1, then HeWho Laughs Last, then Feed From the Floor (which is also one of my fav songsand I may base my AFI tattoo that I’m gonna get after), then Days of thePhoenix (I could watch them play this song over and over until I die), then IHope You Suffer (which honestly I never really connected with this song before,but watching them perform it live holy shit, there was just so much passion andit literally felt like Davey was singing the song into my soul), then SnowCats, then Miss Murder, then Paper Airplanes, and then Silver and Cold (which wow, it just really struck a chord with me).Davey also sang most of Jack the Ripper (one of my all time favorites)completely a capella! (I also got some of that on video.) During the concert Ialmost lost my balance a couple of times cuz during certain songs people fromthe very back would start pushing and it pushed me into the first two rows ofpeople (which I said sorry about every time it happened just like the girlsbehind apologized when it happened.) Oh and also during the last two songs Igot wedged between these guys that were like a foot taller than me. The guy onthe right wasn’t really excited and just kinda stood there and nodded his head.The guy on the left wore a bright blue shirt (he was in the video that I took ofDavey in the crowd) and he was drunk and a complete asshole. Apparently duringthe rest of the concert he was pushing and shoving the girls that were behindme and made his way next to me. then during the last two songs he startsshoving me to the right (when literally no one else was shoving), I thought itwas an accident at first. Then I realize he’s clearly trying to bump me out ofmy spot, so I start shoving back. Then HE LITERALLY STARTS SHOVING HIS ASS INMY FACE. I had it, I was in the heat all day and about to pass out from toomuch excitement and I was not gonna put up with this shit, so I shoved him realhard and yelled, “DUDE WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM?? YOU’RE SHOVING YOUR ASSIN MY GODDAMN FACE I’M A LITTLE GUY JUST LET ME STAND HERE PLEASE”. He fucking turns tome and says, “um you’re being a little rude.” So I was like haha dude whateverand wedged myself in front of him so that I could enjoy the last song. Afterthe concert like six people behind me came up to me to tell me that that drunk guy was an asshole and thanked me for actuallypushing him back and calling him out (they were all my height and the dude was like 6 foot something). A partof me worries that Davey just saw me pushing and thought that I was the assholeor something, but Jade was right there too and we talked after the show and hewas so nice. So after the concert ended me and my friend went out by the tourbus to wait and see if the band would come out. Adam came out first and theperson next to me asked for a pic and he said, “well actually I have a coupleof stuff I need to get. But I’ll be back, is that okay?” Like wow what a sweetguy. So eventually he comes back out and I’m starstruck. I shake his hand andtell him how weird it is to see one of the people I’ve been idolizing since 5thgrade so I’ll try to talk like a normal human being as much as possible, and hesmiles and says he’s happy I had a great time at my first AFI concert. Then Igave him this letter I wrote to the band and I tell him I didn’t want to makeit out to any specific person in the band because you’re all important. I tellhim how much I love AFI and that I don’t ever want him to feel like fans don’tappreciate him because the band wouldn’t be the same without all you guys. Andhe was like aww thanks. And he took a selfie with me and after I took it he waslike, “wait I didn’t see where to look, was I looking at the camera?” so I pullup the picture and he goes oh okay cool I did it right (what a nerd I lovehim). He also autographed this AFI postcard thing that I got with a pendant andThe Blood Album at Bestbuy. And then Jade comes out. And at this point I letsome guy borrow the sharpie I brought and I was scared that I wasn’t gonna haveit when Jade came up, but luckily he had his own (it was a gold sharpie aw). Ishake his hand and tell him how much I enjoyed the concert and how much Iappreciate him and the rest of the band and how it wouldn’t be the same withoutthem there. And he goes, “well you’re favorite band is kinda like yourchildren, you gotta love em all equally” and I’m like ha yea, I have sixsiblings tho.. and he’s like, “oh well siblings are a different thing, we allhave a favorite haha”. And then I told them that this was my first AFI show, buthopefully not my last unless you guys break up tomorrow. And he laughs andgoes, “well that is a possibility. Davey just made a really stinky sandwich, sothat might lead into something.” What a funny guy! We take a selfie and then Iask if he could also sign my card. Now this was pretty funny, when I handed himthe card he flipped it over, then he flipped it back over again and lookeda little confused. He goes, “I don’t recognize this at all, where did you getthis??” and I told him and he looks at my pendant and goes “wow you’re the onlyone here that I’ve seen wearing that, cool!” I just thought it was so funnythat he didn’t recognize that card at all. Then Davey came out and he waswearing that really cute black hood thing he’s been wearing a lot ininterviews, and as he walks by these two drunk girls scream demanding apicture. And he was nice about it and goes No pictures, but I’ll be out later.We waited like an hour and half after that and he was a no show, but honestly Ithink he was just drained (he may have came out after we left but I doubt it.)This concert was a real life changing experience. When I got home from theconcert my grandma started yelling at me and I realized; I accomplished one ofmy childhood dreams, so I’m not gonna put up with shit anymore. I feel like amore complete person. I feel like now I really only want to use my energy onthings that are important to me, and getting yelled at for no reason isn’t oneof them. And also since I wasn’t able to get a pic with Hunter or an autograph,and I wasn’t able to get an autograph from Davey (I don’t expect to get a picwith him since I’ve only seen like one pic of him and a fan on this tour) thisjust means I’ll have to go to another AFI concert! I can’t wait!

Its well known now that Book 7 will heavily imply familial messages and from what we seen with Shroud Family so far, is that they were very communicative and supportive of each other in the loving way possible.

I assumed they were strict and cold parents before but I'm glad its wrong, cuz this is such a nice twist 💕 their dynamic reminds me of disney Hera and Zeus affection on Hercules--- I wonder if theyre showcasing this as parallel of Diasomnia's??? So far in canon, most of them rarely talk about much they actually mean w each other or even being wholesome like the Shrouds were lol But still... its undeniable theyre family as wellll 🙏

my prediction is that theyre delving more into briar valleys history in the lens of Lilia's past.

My interpretation is that Lilia's dream related to his past is bcs he kind of whispered to himself that the reason hes leaving is because of his weakening state and how he doesnt want to wish anyone to see him like that.... I guess his wish was that he could be as strong as he was before... Really reminds me of Mulan's father 😭

Ghostly Happenings - Silver (Part 2)

Author Notes: This is the second part of my Halloween/October twst fic series! Much of what I said about the first part of this fic holds true for this one. The entire series is post Diasomnia overblot, hopefully non canon-compliant, and was greatly inspired by the 1947 movie "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir." I also listened to "Freaking Me Out" by Ava Max while writing this fic series.As per usual, reader is gender-neutral. I hope you enjoy!

“Why are you here?” I found my voice yet again and voiced the first question that came to mind.

My words caused the young man’s eyebrows to raise as he spoke with slight confusion tinting his otherwise calm voice, “Don’t a lot of NRC’s ghosts frequent Ramshackle dorm?”

A frown tugged at my lips as I recalled exactly who I was talking to. Silver always had been sort of… Well, a lot of his classmates had always described Silver as air-headed. 

“No, no, I mean why are you a ghost? Why haven’t you moved on?” I clarified, sitting forward. Because this was a matter that was incredibly concerning.

 I’d always assumed Silver had just moved on after he died, like the majority of people do. But if he was here, then that meant he wasn’t satisfied…. That he still felt like he had something left to do.

“Ah,” Silver’s strangely colored eyes widened briefly as he registered what I actually meant before he frowned. He shook his head slightly, and, despite his characteristic stoicism, I could tell he was unsure.

“I don’t know. It felt like I’d been asleep for a very long time, and then I woke up here. Like this,” He looked down at his gloved hands as he spoke before he met my gaze once more.

I bit my lip as I considered his words. It was possible that, heartbreakingly enough, he wanted to continue staying with Lilia so much that he’d become a ghost. Similarly, it was also possible that he so wanted to protect Malleus that he’d become a ghost.

 But there were other possibilities too, and his words caused a concern to sprout within me. 

“Do you… Remember what happened?” It wasn’t a question I had truly wanted to ask, and even when voicing it, I faltered.

 I personally didn’t care for recalling Malleus’s overblot and everything that had occurred then. Silver’s death had been bad enough, but the entire situation had changed so much about the way everyone had interacted. 

Though me and Malleus had made up, things changed after his overblot. Malleus himself was filled with regrets and would probably never forgive himself, even though everyone, including Lilia himself, had told the prince that he had not been himself in those moments.

And if I didn't care for thinking of that time…. Well, I imagined that recalling such a thing couldn’t be pleasant for Silver. But,it was also something I felt was important. Because if he didn’t remember how he’d died…. Well, there would be no telling why he was still here, in the world of living, after his death.

“Yes,” Silver was surprisingly unphased as he began talking about his death. An odd thing since, for me, it had changed so much. But despite that, he spoke of it with his customary calm that had always made Silver so pleasant to be around.

 “I remember everything. I think I woke up dead about a month after everything had happened. I followed Father around for quite some time after that, but I kept coming back here, and now….”

He spread his arms slightly as he trailed off, still utterly calm despite the fact we were talking about his untimely death, which had been regarded as a tragedy by the entire school. 

It was strange to see him here after all the years. We hadn’t been especially close back during our school days, or at least we hadn’t before Malleus’s overblot. 

While dealing with Malleus’s overblot and everything that it had entailed, I’d gotten to know the knight and become far more attached than I’d realized until he’d died. But even without that consideration, this entire situation was beyond bizarre. 

And here I’d just been thinking that I’d gotten used to everything this world had to offer.

But if Silver had been following Lilia around, had willingly left his father’s side, and was still here, then Lilia wasn’t what kept him chained to this world.

I toyed with my fingers as another option arose in my mind. One that was a strange thought considering how Silver had passed, but also one that made sense when I thought of my other ghostly housemates.

“Are you… happy?” I questioned him awkwardly, but it was an honest concern. Because I truly did want Silver to be happy. 

I hadn’t known him well for a very long period, but I looked back on our interactions during that time with great fondness. 

Even with everything that had happened then, there were memories from then that brought a smile to my face. He'd never been anything but kind to me, and his death had been… It had been too sad.

 I’d gotten to know him while the two of us had united to save both Malleus and the school from the draconic fae’s overblot just before Silver had died. And even though it had been just a short amount of time, so much had happened that I’d become beyond close to the young man, and I knew, for a fact, that I truly liked Silver. And even if that feeling had been tainted by the sadness of his death, it had not changed when he’d passed.

Plus, if he was happy, that would explain one reason why he lingered in this world rather than moving on to the next.

“Happy?” Silver tilted his head at my question. Almost like he hadn’t actually thought about whether or not he was happy or not until I’d asked him that.

After a brief moment, he nodded, “Yes, I think I am happy. I have more energy now that I’m dead than I ever had in life.”

It was an odd statement, to be sure. Having more energy in death than in life. But it was also true that narcolepsy, or whatever it was that had affected him in life, probably wasn’t a thing in death.

“Yeah… I guess you don’t have to sleep now?” I felt a half-amused smile spread across my face at my own words as I chuckled despite myself.

Silver nodded, stepping closer and causing me to notice, with a slight jolt, that unlike the other ghosts, he did have legs. In fact, he was far more like a living person than the other ghosts.

Amos, Billy, and Carlyle didn’t have legs and were all sort of cartoony versions of what was usually used to portray ghosts. But that wasn’t the case with Silver. He looked almost exactly as he had in life. Just like I remembered him, save for the fact he wasn’t falling asleep.

“You said you had a bathroom to clean tomorrow,” Silver’s words drew me out of my confused thoughts and had me staring up at where he now stood, looking down at me with a thoughtful expression.

“Yeah… I’m a janitor at NRC now,” I explained, my mind not entirely with the discussion as it continued to roll around the reality that Silver was a ghost living in my home now.

“You should go to sleep then; it’s late. I won’t bother you anymore.” I twisted to look at the clock, noting that it was indeed getting late, but in reality, I didn’t think I’d fall asleep very quickly.

Not after tonight’s revelations. 

And, truthfully, I wanted to keep talking to Silver. It was like I’d been given a chance to reconnect that should have been wholly impossible, and I didn’t want to waste it.

“It’s alri-” I faltered as I twisted back to look up at Silver once more, only to find that he was gone. Like he’d never been there at all.

Jack: Next up's the interview. Here's the first question.

Jack: “If you could bring one person with you on a deserted island, who would you choose?”

Jack: Except… You can't pick someone from your own dorm.

Sebek: It would be a serious matter to be parted from Malleus-sama's side! I would need to devise a plan to return to him as soon as possible…

Sebek: And on top of that, I'm restricted to choosing only those from other dorms…

Sebek: There are only a handful of people to choose from who could work together without turmoil, and would have the stamina and mental strength to survive in a harsh environment such as that.

Sebek: If it were Silver, there would be no doubt that he could handle it with me, but… we're in the same dorm.

Jack: You think there'd be no doubt he could handle it…? You seem pretty confident.

Sebek: Of course. The two of us have survived together on a mountain we were unfamiliar with for a whole week before.

Jack: A week on a mountain!? How did that even happen?

Sebek: It was a part of our training. Once, a while back, we met up with Lilia-sama for what we assumed would be another usual day of training…

Sebek: But instead, he said, "Let's have a change of scenery for today's practice," and he brought us to a mountain on the outskirts of Briar Valley.

Sebek: However, as soon as we arrived, Lilia disappeared… The only things we had were the bare necessities and―

Sebek: He had also left a letter that said, "I'll be back for you in one week. It's survival time ♪"

Jack: You serious…? That just seems too irresponsible, don't you think?

Sebek: How dare you! Lilia-sama gave us the opportunity to gain useful experience in order to properly handle potential unforeseen circumstances!

Sebek: Well, actually it isn't as if he said that outright… It was most likely just a brilliant idea that had come to him.

Sebek: …At the time, neither Silver nor I had ever properly lived outdoors before, so it was a bitter week.

Sebek: When I returned home, my parents were shocked, saying, "Your expression has become fiercer."

Jack: You've really dealt with a lot, huh…

Sebek: Yeah. That's why I know. Those fragile humans would not be able to survive on a deserted island.

Sebek: But after all that, if I must choose someone to take with me… I suppose I would select Trey-senpai from Heartslabyul.

Jack: Oh, that doesn't sound like a bad choice.

Jack: He seems like he'd be able to let your way of talking just slide off his back.

Sebek: "Slide off his back"…you say...?

Jack: Hm? Did I say something weird?

Sebek: No, it's just that something came to mind when you said those words. It's possible that Trey-senpai shares similarities with my own father.

Jack: Oh. Speaking of which, I feel like we haven't really heard you speak about your old man that much. What kind of guy is he?

Sebek: He also wears glasses like him, and…

Sebek: There's this atmosphere around them that's somewhat similar, and it feels like somehow, they'd understand each other.

Sebek: That man… No matter what I say to him, he would always talk to me without being fazed whatsoever.

Jack: He must be someone with a big heart. I guess somehow you must have equated Trey-senpai's reliability to your old man's, huh.

Sebek: IT'S NOT LIKE I RELY ON MY FATHER!

Sebek: I've answered your question already, so that should be enough. Moving on!
