Wild, as they'd dubbed him, had been traveling with the group of eight traveling warriors for a few weeks now.
It was strange, the group came out of nowhere and then sought him out to help them search for a band of black blooded monsters they were pursuing, supposedly through time. Something about destiny, reincarnation, divine charge, yadda yadda yadda, but Wild wasn't convinced that their quest was real and that they even needed him.
"You're a hero, just like us, you belong with us," they said. But did he really?
As they'd traveled from central Hyrule, up into Akkala, then working their way back across toward Tabantha, the others had shared their stories and it was clear that their experiences were different from his. For one, none of them failed their quests.
Wild didn't tell them the full story of his Hyrule--there was no reason to--only the basics. Kept his failure, the long slumber, and his amnesia a secret.
It happened constantly that the others would say something innocent--a remark on how populated their hometown was, or how pretty their Castletown was, or how they'd reclaimed the coastline from monsters--little things they meant nothing by, but it caused Wild a sharp sting of guilt.
Wild kept his face calm and his polite laughter lighthearted. Keep them from suspecting anything was wrong. It happened over and over though, and it was starting to wear him down.
It got to the point where all Wild could think about was how they would disapprove and dislike him if they knew the truth. His heart hurt all the time and he felt guilt weighing on his shoulders, making him sick to his stomach.
One day, he stopped faking being fine, he remained withdrawn, staying at the back of the line, watching the rest of the heroes handle themselves in battle and over the challenges of the terraine. He didn't offer advice and they didn't ask for it. It was clear the Chain didn't need Wild and he certainly didn't need them.
Wild always knew he could just leave. He didn't have to stand for this discomfort any longer. Just like any other undesirable situation--unexpected lynel, blood moon while in talus territory, thunderstorm in the middle of the night--he could just teleport away.
It was tempting--it would be so easy to teleport right then to a random Shrine faraway--but no, he'd offer them the courtesy of at least announcing his departure. Sure, he was Wild, but he was also a knight and he still had his honor.
That night he cooked for them some hearty meat curry with plenty extra for the next day. The Chain chatted and ate and thanked him for cooking. Wild meant to leave as soon as he'd eaten his fill, but he lingered, allowing himself a moment to enjoy having company for a little longer.
But then conversation turned to childhoods. Some had a happy one, some didn't, having started their journeys early or with trouble and trauma.
"What was yours like?" Wind asked him. "How was growing up here in this huge wild Hyrule?"
Wild sighed. He was quiet for a brief moment, then stood up.
"I'm done," he said.
"I'll take your dishes then," Warriors said, who'd been assigned dish duty.
"No, not like that," Wild shook his head. "I'm done with all of you. Done with whatever mission you're on."
There was a quiet moment as the heroes processed what he said.
"What? Why?" Wind asked.
"Listen, I'm not who you think I am," Wild said. "And you don't need me around. You all are perfectly capable on your own."
"We do need you," Wind objected. "You're a hero. You belong with us." Wild shook his head.
"We need all hands for this mission," Warriors, the Captain said. "It's been a challenge even for the eight of us. We really could use your help." Somehow Wild doubted that.
"What went wrong?" Sky asked. "Can we talk through whatever is bothering you? Give us a second chance?"
"No. I am done with all of you." Wild said with finality. He shouldered his shield and sword, everyone watching him awkwardly, but nobody stopped him. "I wish you all good luck on your adventure." He bowed to them slightly, force of habit from a time long forgotten.
"Wait what?! Are you serious?" Legend exclaimed, jumping to his feet.
"W--what about the pot?" Hyrule asked.
"Keep it, it wasn't mine to start with," Wild said. He opened the map on his slate and selected the tower for the Gerudo region, somewhere faraway and secluded from people.
"Goodbye," he said, turning to blue ribbons of light and was gone.

A cult has been causing trouble for the Infinite Realms in their search for power and eternal life. And to make things worse, the Observants suspect that they have at least one actual ghost—or possibly even a traitorous Observant—working with them and interfering with their view. This could become a major problem…
However, as Observants, they’ve sworn not to intervene directly, so they have to pick someone else to look deeper into the situation for them. And, if necessary, to deal with it.
They choose Phantom for this role, since his half-human nature means he’ll have an easier time operating in the living world. Danny’s not entirely happy with the assignment, but the situation does seem like a genuine issue so he’s willing to look into it (if in his own way).
Since he doesn’t know how prepared the cult is for ghosts, he decides that infiltration would be the best way to gather info. Thus, he takes on a new identity in his human form and approaches the cult, expressing interest in the publicly known part of their group. Then, a bit later, he manages to successfully gain admittance into some of the more private meetings. Everything is progressing as planned!
…Though he didn’t expect to like one of his fellow initiates so much. He hopes he can change their mind on things and bring them out of the cult with him when he’s done.
Meanwhile, a hero from the Justice League has also been sent to infiltrate the cult and investigate the rumors about it. It’s gone off without a hitch so far, but they’ve gained a potential entanglement in the form of one of the other new members whom they’re developing a crush on…

There's this way of doing female-ness in Christianity that I call "pastel flower journal Christianity." I've got nothing against pastel flower journals per se, but for some reason people believe it's the end all and be all of female spirituality, and I think it's a real disservice towards young Christian women.
One of these days I'd like to start a prayer-and-reading group or something for young women, but there would be no floral themes or over-focus on how "God thinks you're beautiful even if the world doesn't" (a true statement, but it's wayyyyy too often the focus in women's spiritual reading). Instead we would be reading:
Seneca's Letters from a Stoic
Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning
Sheed's A Map of Life
Portions of Pieper's book on leisure
Kreeft's Three Philosophies of Life
Guardini's The Lord (or something similar)
Therese's Story of a Soul
and some select portions of the Nicomachean Ethics.
(Also they're all getting the porn talk. I don't know why we give the porn talk to young men but not young women. There's this idea that women don't use porn and they only need the talk about "guarding their heart." Bullshit. There's porn on the YA shelves of Barnes and Nobles and before that there were bodice rippers. Young women need the porn talk too.)
Every young woman needs to be getting a basic grounding in virtue ethics, logic, natural law, scholastic philosophy and Biblical hermeneutics if they're going to get by in today's spiritual landscape. Enough faffery and emotionalism in young women's spiritual education! Give them real food to chew on, not pasty sentimentalism!

Justin baldoni decided to adapt It Ends With Us because he thought that stories about domestic violence, and specifically escaping and life beyond domestic violence deserved to be platformed.
Instead of being supported, he’s been mean girl’d by the cast; that’s treating the film like its this cutesy rom com : and I think this rly encapsulates everything that’s wrong with the book, and the fanbase it’s amassed

Reminder that the person who breeds you isn't the one who gives you multiples!! You are the one whose body is so fertile, ripe and perfect for breeding that your body produced all those eggs just waiting, begging to be filled. It's your own biology that's made your belly grow so gravid and round, your virility that's assured that your womb is so tightly packed, hips widening, back arching, breasts swelling, all in preparation for the brood you've made. They may have planted the seeds, but it's you that's put it to work, your body so eager to swell full of life, your massively rotund figure proof of what an overachiever you are.

Adult!Villain and Teen!Hero are hilarious, an whole ass adult beefing with a OP high schooler? Comedy
Honestly, doesn't do it for me. (Sorry) I know it's a very common trope and it's totally valid if you or anyone else likes it!
(I don't think I'm drawn to antagonist &/ protagonist dynamics for the comedy in general. It's not what interests me about it. But that's partly also a semantics thing, e.g. 'rivals' versus 'enemies', 'villain' as in 'supervillain' which can mean like megamind versus 'villain of the story'. I can appreciate comedy in a story about rivals, idk, I can't explain the distinction.)
Anyway. Like, to me, this gives:
horror in the power imbalance between children and adults
themes of children/teenagers having to step up to save the world because of the actions or inaction of older generations
themes in the way adults are not taught its unacceptable to have public beef with a teenager + lessened boundaries in how we treat each other in public spaces
themes in the whole creepy child trope, e.g. a teenager who is so powerful and the ways that this can backfire
themes in identity formation and the myriad different masks we might wear as teenagers and how someone can pick up on just one part of who you are growing to be and hate it.

Just imagine how many times this has happened--how many sleepless nights had she had thinking that "he might call me to his bed any minute now" and being unable to do anything about it. She couldn’t outrightly tell him “no” because he was the king, and she needed to have heirs because this is what Viserys married her for. Can you imagine the anxiety?! knowing that you’d be r!ped any minute now, and having NO ONE to talk to about it (bc I’m sure Otto didn’t care). But this is not just anxiety; this is abuse, this is feeling powerless, this is disgust, this is emotional turmoil, this is on a whole other level and this was Alicent’s everyday reality.
