Guide to Watching Firefly for First Time Viewers, That Nobody Asked for (Because I'm Annoying and this Annoyed Me When I First Watched it so You Know It's REALLY BAD)

Firefly is kinda famous for not having released its episodes chronologically when it aired back in 2002. Most sites I've been on has fixed this, as in, they have the episodes in the right order, but for SOME REASON they then scramble the episode names to confuse unsuspecting people into stepping into a metaphorical sarlacc's mouth.

That's what this is for. So you don't get future episodes spoiled when you haven't seen them yet.

(Another important thing to note is that I Do Not Have Netflix or Any Other Fancy Streaming Service, so I don't actually know if they get it right.)

So how this is gonna work is I'm going to put a screenshot of the first thing you see for each episode, its name, chronological episode number, and release number, so you know where to look if something goes wrong. Also a short summary for what happens in the first scene. Non-spoilery stuff.

Episode 1: Serenity (NOT THE MOVIE!!), may be under the name The Train Job

Ep. release number (the WRONG number): 11

The first scene is a battle (that frame above is a Big Explosion, as you can see) with shooting and shouting and all kinds of war stuff. This episode is also twice as long as a normal episode, so if it says it's about an hour and a half long, you probably got the right one

I'm not going to bother with a screen capture because it's a MOVIE it's not in the same place as the SHOW it's not as difficult as the others.

I AM going to say, however that you shouldn't watch the movie before the show. It comes after. Spare yourself the pain.

Puzzles and Clues

This fic came from this bit of inspiration from. @birb-boyo

Time and Warriors both had their swords and shields raised and ready as they stepped through the next doorway. The ceiling stretched far above them, bluish-grey roots and vines hung down towards them. The same ethereal bioluminescense filled the chamber as they had experienced on the spiral staircase. Strange bright blue plants grew around the perimeter, drawing Warriors' gaze around the room towards the door at the far end.

"Shit!" He exclaimed, observing the bars blocking their exit.

Seeing no immediate enemies, Time sheathed his blade and stowed his shield away. His left eye roamed around the room, seaking out the solution for their predicament. It was obvious they had to pass through this chamber to progress to the rest of the dungeon. (Where he hoped the rest of his boys would be able to meet them) He noted the carvings on the walls and the conspicuous eye over the barred door. A veteran of such dungeon puzzles, Time surmised a resolution almost right away. So he couldn't help a smirk and a raised eyebrow at Wars' exclamation.

"What?" Time asked, pushing down his need to laugh.

"What do you mean what?!" Wars rebuffed. "The door is barred, this is going to be one of those nonsensical puzzle rooms isn't it."

"Perhaps," Time replied smoothly.

He carefully lowered himself to the ground and settled upon one of the steps leading up to a raised platform in the middle of the chamber. Acutely aware of the persistent twinge in his left shoulder. (He'd have to ask Hyrule to take another look at it when they made camp) Time pulled out his travellers pack and began searching for something.

"What are you doing?" Wars asked, perturbed at the fact that his brother seemed to be ignoring him.

"Taking the weight off my legs for a minute. Or am I not allowed to live up to the nick name you boys so affectionately gave me?!" Time chuckled, pulling a wet-stone out of his bag.

"I thought we were supposed to be trying to meet up with the others?"

"We are."

Time proceeded to pull out his briggons sword and take his stone to the edge. Sharpening and maintaining the edge of the blade which had saved his life more times than he cared to count.

"So what do we do here?" Wars asked incredulously, waving his arms at his sides.

Time smirked and quirked an eyebrow at Wars.

"Why don't you figure it out?"

"You already know, don't you?" Wars sighed.

"Maybe," Time replied, striking along the edge of his blade with the stone.

"You could just tell me," Wars sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "And then we could just proceed."

"Why don't you figure it out? You're always saying you never got a chance to have a go at dungeon puzzles. I'm sure someone who mastered military strategy can figure out a simple puzzle."

"So it's a simple one?" Wars surmised, rolling his eyes at Time's lack of helpfullness.

"Could be."

"That's really helpful Sprite!" Wars groaned, making Time smile at the old nickname.

"Come on, the boys are waiting for us Captain," Time encouraged, unable to wipe the smug smile off his face.

Wars pushed down a curse before turning his back on his little brother. He didn't want to argue with Time and the Old Man clearly wasn't going to give him any hints. So Wars ignored his frustration and kicked his brain into gear.

This wasn't Time's era. He had never set foot in this temple before. Yet he had apparently figured out the solution to opening the gate within a few minutes of stepping into the chamber. That meant that the solution had to be somewhere visible. A clue of some kind maybe?

Warriors circled the room, observing the strange carvings on the walls. He'd never had time to pay much attention to the artwork of any era, but this looked intentional. He moved around to take a closer look at the barred door, and the eye which seemed to follow him around the room. That was a little off putting, but Wars endeavoured to focus on his task at hand.

He walked up the steps past Time to the top of the platform. From there he turned in a circle to see the room from a different perspective. When he turned to face the roaming eye again, Wars found it still trained on him. He stepped a little closer to it then pulled out his sword. An idea forming. Warriors moved to the edge of the platform and held his sword out toward the eye. But no matter how far he reached he couldn't touch it. With a sigh he holstered his weapon. (Failing to notice the eye following his blade rather than him) Wars instead took out his bow. At such short range even his un-practiced aim couldn't miss.

Arrow after arrow met their mark. Warriors even scored several bulls-eyes. Yet still the bars blocked their way. Wars threw down his bow with an irritated huff. He slipped off the stone plinth and dropped down onto the floor, his scarf fluttering behind him.

Warriors turned his attention to the softly glowing plants around the room. He kicked at them, brushing them aside to see if any clue lay behind them. The carved stone was of no help. The inscription wasn't in his Hylian script and even if it was the message probably related to Sky, as the hero of this era.

"Figured it out yet?" Time asked, from the other side of the room.

"Shut up Old Man!" Wars barked back.

Time simply smiled and turned over his blade to begin working on the other side.

"I could always give you a hint?" He suggested, already thinking about what he could say.

Wars glared back at him with a look of pure venom. A look which seemed to say, 'Don't you dare!'

Wars took a deep breath and stared at his problem again.

"Come on!" He thought to himself. "Sprite figured this out in about a minute flat. You can do this Link!"

Warriors climbed back up onto the podium and looked around once more. He turned on the spot several times. The carvings on the walls caught his attention once more. They looked like giant eyes, but with spirals in the centre instead of pupils. Eyes. Wars turned back to the eye above the door. He squinted at it. He pulled out his sword.

Could it really be that simple? Had Time really seen this solution after only a few moments? Of course he could. Even with one eye the Hero of Time often saw more than the rest of them.

Warriors held his sword out in front of him as he had done before. Slowly, he moved his arm in a clockwise motion. He let out a dejected sigh as he watched the eye in the wall following the motion of his blade. But it wasn't spinning. He moved faster. The eye moved faster. At last he had it spinning wildly. So wildly that whatever magical or mechanical hold it had over the bars lifted.

Time stopped working as he heard the distinct sound of metal on stone.

"Door's open," Wars sighed.

Time finished off sharpening his sword and sheathed it. He pushed himself to his feet to come face to face with Wars as he came back down the steps.

"Great, well d..." Time began.

"Don't, say, a, word." Wars said pointedly, literally pointing a finger in Time's face. "Not, one, word."

The glare on Warriors face and the defeat in his eyes told Time everything he needed to know. Perhaps the Captain had not enjoyed his first dungeon puzzle. But then again neither had he.

Silently the pair left the chamber and passed on into the rest of the temple. Wars silently cursing Time, Sky and Hylia under his breath.

The following chamber was vast, with a narrow bridge crossing water more than two metres deep. The same blue light filled the space, illuminating the corpses of dead monsters and the heros standing over them.

"Hey you made it!" Sky observed cheerfully, pushing his way to the front of the group.

As Warriors and their leader approached, Sky faltered as he noticed the disparity in their expressions. Time was struggling to keep his face placid, while Wars looked like he might throw someone in the water without notice.

"Everything okay?" Sky asked cautiously, as Wars brushed past him without so much as a sideways glance.

Time sighed and caught Sky's eye.

"The Captain did not enjoy his puzzle."

Today im coming to you with a Kisuke Urahara theory!!

He is the mastemind behind everything and i mean EVERYTHING!!

Let me explain..

One of the things i noticed is how after the soul society ark and Aizen's betrayel,nobody asks Urahara about the Hogyoku!! (Maybe they did correct me if im wrong)

Hogyoku feels like something very important and DANGEROUS,so naturally i expected the captains and their squads to form some kind of plans of either invasion or steal the artifact before it can be used or activated!!

Or i dont know ASK THE CREATOR HOW IT WORKS AND HOW TO DESTROY IT!!

Isnt strange how Yamamoto only told Ichigo to stay put and the rest are just gonna prepare for war,like there is nothing else they can do?

Like imagine back in the 40s Oppenheimer just created the atomic bomb,somehow the Japanese found out and stole it and the Americans instead of going nuts,they are like "ok i guess we are going to wait until fall so we can attack"

It makes no sense!!

Now you might say that even Urahara didnt know what the orb could do ,so he wouldnt be helpfull at that time.

But what about the time AFTER Aizen's defeat?

You're telling me Urahara Kisuke couldn t find a way to take the Hogyoku back and destroy it??

Again you might say that it was established that the orb is now fused with Aizen and cant be seperated,when Gin tried to take it but also remember when Ichigo said Hogyoku has rejected him and he is no longer its master!!

And there is also a KIDO SPELL THAT AIZEN USED AND WHEN HE TOOK IT FROM RUKIA?

Did they all forget?

So WHY THE URAHARA KISUKE GENIOUS EXTRORDINAIRE DIDNT DO SOMETHING!!

I'll tell you why ,because all of this was a big diversion from the real goal

ICHIGO UNLOCKING HIS TRUE POTENTIAL!!

And here comes crazy theory territory,lets go

At some point in the past somehow,someone something informed Urahara about the events that would lead to the destruction of the whole universe!!

Once the gates of hell are open and the beasts from hell escape is pretty much the apocalypse!!

So the entity(which in my headcanon is Fate personafied) goes to him and tells him "Listen the wold will end if we dont find the perfect replacement for the Soul King and you are the only one that can help"

Again imagine that the saviour can only succeed if we allow the World war 1,World war 2 and the Corona virus to happen,we dont know how many people will die but in the end the rest will be saved by the freaking Armagedon!!

It is the same with Bleach,Aizen rebelion had to happen,the Quincy invasion,Ichigo unlocking his true zanpakuto and Quincy powers,so when hell ark happens there is a winning chance!!

Also i find it quite curious how Ichigo is the only being that can kill the Soul King as Jhwach mentioned ( you need someone who is Human,Quincy,Hollow and Shinigami) and didnt get any powers from the King?

But Jhwah somehow got the Almighty?

Yeah ok thats not suspicious at all!

What im trying to say is that Urahara put all his effort and focus on making Ichigo the perfect vessel for the Soul King's powers and allow Aizen to go after the Hogyoku,so Aizen wouldnt notice!!

I mean how do you distarct a person like Aizen!

Simply,by giving EXACTLY what they want,the very thing they obsessed about for centuries.

Combing that with Aizen' s arrogance and supperiority,god complex,he never cared about anything else and why would Aizen care? Everything was part of his plan right?

WRONG it was just a part of Urahara's plan!!!

I just cant stop thinking about the moment Aizen figures this out,his mind is going to explode!!!

In the end everything from the moment of Ichigo's conception,which Urahara helped by saving Masaki thus creating the perfect conditions for a multi-dimmensional bei ng to be born,too Ichigo's true powers was all part of a bigger plan to save the universe!!!

Baby Sitting Is Not Always Easy

Note: i wanted to do smt for the kids, so here i am. if you think of them romantically, get out of here, pls. (Man I hate writer's block, I have litterlly no ideas for anything) updated with: wtf this is so long ago im finally f*cking done, luv you

Klee

You were so kindly asked by Jean and Albedo to babysit Klee for a few days/you don´t know if you regret that or not/since it was a busy time for the nights, and you were their best option that weren´t too busy.

you didn´t do much the first day, other than trying to get Klee to not bomb something. and then getting her to play small games all day instead, so you played hide and seek for at least a few hours. in the middle of a game of hide and seek she got a little distracted with some crystal flies in the area, and started trying to catch some for you. she eventually caught one and showed it to you, and then made you get down to her level so she could put it in your hair.

What she enjoyed the most: she mostly enjoyed it when you let her bomb something, even though it was just a ruin guard(it was away from people, and couldn´t harm anything). and she also loved to make glitter bombs with you, though now there´s glitter all over you both.

"If big brother albedo and all the other nights are busy again, could big sibling y/n come and babysit Klee again" that´s what she asked you on the way home, with her best puppy eyes i might add.

Qiqi

It was really hectic in the pharmacy, so Baizhu kindly asked you to look after Qiqi for a day or two, since they were all busy and also didn't want Qiqi to work too much. Although she wanted to help.

What she enjoyed the most: she really liked when you helped her gather some flowers for Baizhu. she wasn´t asked to do it, but she overheard some of the workers there needing some more flowers for someone's medicine, so she wanted to help out. but of course, she was under your watch, so you helped her get them.

She got distracted a few times, by finces, pretty flowers/veiws, and ofc Yao Yao, speaking of Yao Yao, she joined you both half way since she had also went flower collecting, as she wanted to make a flower crown for granny. and she was helpfull for sure, especially with keeping Qiqi occupied and not getting distracted as often. she had to leave at some point though, so you helped Qiqi say goodbye and get the last few flowers before carrying her back to the pharmacy.

When you got back Qiqi was about half asleep, and was even worse at remembering things, but it was fine, and you would totally do it again.

"if Baizhu is... uhm extra busy again can you... look after Qiqi again?" she asked just after you had gone collecting flowers with her how is a zombie that fucking adorable.

Sayu

you were asked by the Kamisato siblings, and Guuji Yae herself, to babysit Sayu for them. of course you accepted the task (otherwise you wouldn´t be here, duh) and were told to pick her up the next morning. as they were all going to be busy with preparing for a festival that's coming up, as well as with the rest of the shrine.

the first day was rather normal, for her at least. she slept through almost all of it, while you just carried her around, and did some other tasks you also had to do that day.

the second day was the most interesting, in your words. maybe it was the fact that she had to do some training. or maybe it was you cooking for her, cooking whatever she wanted. but she loved the food you cooked for her, and even wanted to try herself. so you taught her how to cook some basic recipes of your own, she was pretty good at it, but was very tired after the first two. so you put her to sleep for a few hours, and then you could continue after if she wanted.

What she enjoyed the most: the thing she enjoyed the most was(ofc)sleeping, on your lap to be specific. she normally sleeps a lot but it just felt better on your lap that day, especially because nobody could come and annoy her about work.

"y/n? can you come and babysit me again? i would love to sleep like this again" she asked while half asleep in your lap.

Twas the first day of school, here is a little recap:

We mainly went over all the new procedures. Theres one about phones and if they have to take it up 4 times in a row you have to pay a fine of 15 dollars. And the dress code regressed?? No teacher is enforcing it though. We still have the same tardy policy (10 tardies = ISS).

If this phone policy doesn't 'work' then we just- wont be allowed to bring our phones at all Which is a HUGE safety concern.

1st period: Colorguard

Nothing much happened here, again a lot of today was just a repeat of all procedures. There were a few band specific things, such as attendance, rehearsals, UDB, and stuff pertaining to the band hall itself. There is now a form so if need be, your istrument can be turned into the shop to get fixed!

We also cleaned out the guard locker room/area. All of the costumes from last year got put in one of the lower lockers. We somehow found stuff from seniors who left YEARS ago. And 3 year old water....in a jug still.. yikes.

2nd: Forensics!!!

Im actually so happy I got to be in this class. Im looking forward to a lot of things in it. Especially the labs and that one lecture about blood splatters. Our teacher is actually absent this first week, but thats because he's also the volleyball coach. (Our volleyball team is in Hawaii for nationals I believe)

We had three assignments. One of them was designing a locker (mine is super cute, it has a Marina poster), the second was a Syllabus scavenger hunt which isn't due until tomorrow but I wanted to get a jump on it so I finished it at home. The third was homework, which was just a student survey.

3rd: ELA

It was just, again, more policy updates and a little get to know you card. This class, thank god, wont be all on computer. We'll have some paper assignments. We haven't gotten our reading yet (which upsets me a teeny bit, but I'm sure we'll learn about it later in the week)

4th: AP World History

I'm actually so exited for this class its not even funny. I was genuinley upset when we didnt get our unit 0 packets and when I found out we werent getting our textbooks until Friday.

We did learn that the AP teachers are no longer allowed to split that 70% weighted major assignments to 40/30. Which absolutely sucks, and on top of that our first unit is stuff our state says we NEED to know to get said World History credit. Which means we wont even be tested on it come spring. Our district hates us.

I actually have a good teacher for this AP class, last year I had a very (idk how else to put it) 'White privlidged' teacher. AND AND I narrowly missed being stuck in a class with someone I despise. Made me so happy!

I also learned that 'The History of the Entire World I guess' is pretty accurate! So I can use that as a study resource for like- a short summary.

5th: Astronomy

SO SO SO excited for this class. And there is no math! None! (If they added math it would have to become an AP class). My teacher is so funny unironicly. He's very monotone and you would think he'd be a bore, but he's actually really funny in my opinion.

We actually will talk about why Astrology isnt real which I think will be really fun. I dont nessicarily believe astrology is real, I like the idea of it. But going indepts on why it isnt is going to be really interesting!

We also will get to learn how galaxies and solar systems form, which will be really helpfull for making my story, Abyss. Theres also gonna be night labs!! (if we go we get a free 100 on a test grade) And maybe some Day Labs if the school can get their hands on a solar telescope.

6th: Geometry

It's geometry. There wasnt really anything of note here. Just the fact that i somehow have a class full of kids who dont care abt the Highschool grades. (I have confirmed this, it isnt speculation) It's gonna be a loud period..

7th: Band (they split it up weird)

Again nothing of note. EXCEPT NOW I HAVE TO LEARN THE SHOW?? ON MY FLUTE?? WHAT??

Im in guard, i dont do 'band' until concert season. I cant work on my solo during this period OR my homework. Pissed me of factually because the original plan was as followed:

Practice choreography

Practice flute

But nope! They hate me! /j

8th: Musical Theatre!

So many new people! Its gonna be so much fun! I have a lot of friends in that class so im really excited!

I already know the song im gonna do for our first solo, just gotta get permission cuz its technicly not from a musical (Wont say im in love from hercules)

iiii think i maybe want to change my username. is this a fckin middle crisis they were talking about.

like. nwarrior was ment that i am fighting against stereotypes against shitty normis Norms, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia etc etc and shit and etc, to society, to myself. and like my fight is my art. buuut

last time i think more about that. i dont want it to be fight. like. i don't want it to prove something to these fuckers who do this awful evil things to us. why would i care about them? they will not stop doing their shit because i drew bodypositive art. but. then i draw representative art my followers will feel happy (i mean, i read comments so i can assume you do).

so i don't want to make a point of my representative art on fighting. it's not about showing evil guys that they are (shock!) evil, i want focus of my work to be on. spreading warm and positive and giving positive emotions. i mean, it doesn't change anything in my content itself, but more. of my attitude to it? i just always thought about it as my little contribution in an endless fight for our rights? but like.

as i said long ago, we, oppressed people, are always were are and will be the winners because we have the most great power of life itself - love. and oppressors can't steal it and it's so, so powerful. stealing is their trademark, but Love. you can't steal Love and make it into something bad. it's Love. they can lie, try to fake it, try to buy it. yk it's so funny, i just realize. they think they can do everything but they can't do the only thing in life that really matters (and no, i am not excluding aroace people from narrative here, Love is like. is something more here than sex or dating, try to understand me pls.)

so yeah i... i am sitting here and thinking that it's something more than a fight. it's a strange fight if we already have a winner but looser don't know about it and think that he is on the top and treats a winner like shit and a winner constantly need to prove that little fucker that prize is in their hands and looser think that prize is something different.

and so, yeah, i know that it is in fact a fight and we are fighting for our rights. but i am so tired of fighting. i recently figured out that i need to fight myself a g a i n because i thought i was much better at being good person, but no. i mean i have some progress but turned out i am so so so not enough and i am crying and have that thing in trout first time since idk then. and i thought, omg, do i have to fight myself again, like, feeling literally like i stubbing my heart (for people just thinking "lol that heart bit that edgy lol" - yeah, edgy, can i be """edgy"""" in my mental breakdown middle life crisis fckin letter feelings which i type without script, okay thanks!)

and i thought like.... maybe i can make something more

my trademark was a sword, like, warrior.... but now i am thinking more about... something warm. a cup of tea, spreading through your body, flower, fire. something like this? it would be nice like.... and it's really more helpfull to use to urself symbols of cup of tea and flowers and warmth then a sword. it's so much more calming and comforting.... yeah... i think i will think about it

my sword is like a toothpick to that evil voide around. my sword against that void in me - it's big damage. but. if i will give someone, including me, a nice warm cup of chamomile tea... the world will really become better.

i laughed at the scene she was like "uh oh i hope it's a joke because this is NOT funny being a Tinker fairy" because her response is just hilarious but after that scene i love how she have thought, build and acted like a Tinker as a temporary Tinker fairy herself, i'm surprised for the way how she deals with the situation, she probably for once agrees with Tinkerbell on 1 thing for saying Zarina is the reason for all these messes she have caused for everybody, including the switching talent one, hiding themselves under a jacket and beating a pirate was surprisingly her idea instead of Tinkerbell, building a boat made out of eggs was her idea too and i'm sure she have created a sword to beat the pirates too, i love how she deals with thinking like a Tinker fairy in "The Pirate Fairy" movie i love the weak side of her, just like how everybody have their strength and weak side of them i see the weak side of Vidia too, i act like the first movie don't exist but thankfully she have improved after the first movie but i'm okay with the weak side of her she have in its other movies, she easily feel guilty if something bad happens to others and that's very well showed in "The Great Fairy Rescue" and the next one called "The Secret Of The Wings" it looks like from each of the group she seems the most upset by it if she can't control the situation, like when she thought Tinkerbell was in danger it scared the crap out of her Tinkerbell might die before Vidia is able to save her from the humans in time, thankfully Tinkerbell was safe the whole time but from her point of view i can't really blame Vidia last time she have saw Tinkerbell, it's clearly showed in most of the scene Vidia was in, the other one in "The Secret Of The Wings" it again involves Tinkerbell but this time Tinkerbell sacrificed her wing to call the winter fairies for help and once she revealed her wings without even telling them, Periwinkle was the most upset by it but Vidia comes close by from all of the other fairies, it's a real fact her best fairy friend is Tinkerbell so she'll take it the hardest from the group, she almost lost her once so she was probably scared of losing her again who knows? and Vidia herself can't imagine breaking a wing as the largest one from everybody so i can't really blame her she'll take it the hardest from everybody for these reasons, and in "The Legend Of The Neverbeast" she was also seen crying TWICE, one when Fawn died while trying to comfort Rosetta and the other one while Fawn was alive again yet had to say goodbye to Gruff she was seen crying with the others, an another weak side of her is when someone makes fun of her or when someone complaints about something she can be angry or annoying for a few seconds and i'm okay with that even though it's unnecessary at times i didn't liked her in the first movie but i DID liked when she met Tinkerbell she explained how fast-flying talent works but that's all about it in that scene and now to reach the 20 allthough i didn't liked Vidia or Tinkerbell, i find it very funny how they bitch fights infront of everybody, they blamed each other but in reality they were both to the blame but i just couldn't stop laughing for the way they fights and once all was in the open i laughed even more and she has been defeated by Tinkerbell after that and had to do the sprinting thistles job while Tinkerbell stayed and did her thing, everytime i see that scene where these 2 fights i can't stop laughing because it's just hilarious, i especially laughed when Vidia accidently told Tinkerbell she should've told her to capture the hawk instead of the sprinting thistles and had that "*uh oh now i'm in trouble for saying that right infront of everybody*" look on her face i used to hate her a lot but now i can't imagine a movie without her nowadays, my point of view have changed about Vidia, i just love this girl

12: a piece of advice i'd like to give

like i said in a previous post of mine i'm just 18. i'm like a baby. i feel like the least qualified person on earth to be giving advice. but i'll say one thing: advices are kinda bullshit. in essence they're opinions you think will be helpfull to someone else. but in my experience, they rarely are, especially when talking about life choices, mental health and the such. i watched hundreds of hours of self help videos, listened to people, went to therapy, and i felt like a fucking moron. i knew all the things, i had the advice, but it wasn't working. in the end, what helped me crawl out of the pit is time, love, and a bunch of stuff i'll never know about. find what works for you and ditch what doesn't; it's not because a piece of advice is true that it is helpful. searching for your solution will probably work better than just trying to apply the solutions others found

Managed to binge Sex Education (the first time I just stopped after season 1, it didn't really catch my interest, I was mainly in it for Gillian Anderson).

It's not a bad show, there are some compelling storylines, it touches important subjects and it is kinda charming.

However, there's one thing I do not like and that's inconsistency. (Or being hypocritical in general, not the case here, but same lane)

(Critical thoughts and discussion about drug use under the cut).

I feel the show was inconsistent, mainly in regards to handeling the subject of sexuality.

Presenting serious issues with a bit of humor is helpfull and healing, and sometimes done well (like, chili-oil as lubricant, the consequences of that and the transition to talking about menopausal issues was ok f.e.), but to me sexuality was often used way too slapsticky and silly. Also for cheap shock value.

And that doesn't fit the tone of the show, where the subject is meant to be taken seriously. Some jokes are to immature for that and missing heart.

One storyline that stood out to me was Hope's attempt to remodel the school. To me, that was actually the heaviest subject, because additional to regular disciplinic measures, she tried to manipulate and divide in an insidious way. The public shaming was a facist move even, truely horrible.

So I was looking forward to the students fighting back and when they did it was with a bunch of genitals and a shitty Peaches song.

In this particular case I didn't feel like it was the correct answer. Adam and Cal had very different issues, that had nothing to do with what the slideshow presented.

At least the consequence was realistic. Of course it was over the top and the school lost funding.

Fighting for freedom of speech, artistic freedom, ones own boundaries and bodily autonomy could have been done in a much more powerful way.

Another thing I felt was off was the depiction of drug use.

Maeve's whole storyline throughout the entire show was about how destructive addiction can be. And I think it was handled ok and realistic.

On the other hand we have Eric happily taking party drugs and a mushroom trip being used for shits and giggles.

Don't get me wrong, I believe in everyone's right to do to their own body what they want, I'm not moralizing here.

But I've also seen first hand what drugs can do to people emotionally and physically and there is no difference between pills, mushrooms, weed, alcohol and heroin. Literally none.

All off them can evidently get you addicted physically and mentally and can mess up your mental and physical health.

Even if you take them just once. It can get you killed if your heart can't take it or you forget to hydrate. That's common knowledge .

So why does the show make a difference between happy drugs and bad drugs?

I get, that Erin's addiction had more dire consequences because she had kids, but a guy flinging around a kitchen knife while on shrooms (yes, actual thing that happened in my social circle) can also harm people.

I'm not saying creative works need to have a certain moral stance regarding drug use. We all have critical thinking skills (hopefully) that we should use while consuming media, but it really ticked me off that there was such a huge difference in the way Sex Education depicted substance use/abuse.

Also, maybe it's my age, but I felt like the show was way over the top with a lot of stuff.

And a bit to soapy.

Well, I did like certain characters and their journey, otherwise I wouldn't have watched all if it.

And the soundtrack fits perfectly (which is extremely important to me, ill-fitting songs or score can ruin a whole show for me and the other way round.)

Maybe someone wants to give their opinion, I like to reflect on stuff and I'm still debating the show internally (so at least it did manage some sort of impact, a sign of a certain quality).

Because of all the (corrupted) ectoplasm there, the lazerus pits are considered thin spots in the gostzone, Danny (like 17 at that point, maybe even the gost king or prince) during the summerbreak before his last year at school spends the days he can't spend with tucker and Sam exploring the gost Zone just to escape his Parents rambling about the newest anti ghost inventions. He finds the thin spots leaking corrupted ectoplasma and gets curious enough for him to check out the other side (invisible of course, he might be reckless but he is not stupid). And on the other side, he finds the league of assasins and kid Damian (who has yet to go and live with his father) and his protection obbsession latches onto this small feral child.

Like what do you mean they make him fight. Look at him! He is tiny!

So he starts periodically checking in on that kid, protecting him in covert ways because while he can't do more, he can't just NOT do something. Little things like making Damians pillows and blankets a nice cool temperature throught the night, making people trip who are mean to him or want to attack him, maybe even giving him small gifts made from ghost ice. Damian at one point probably (definitely) realizes that there is someone who is for some reason friendly? and helpfull? who he can't see?

And then one day Danny goes to look how the kid is doing only to be unable to find him (because he is not with Bruce but Danny doesn't know that). Cue panic.

Basically Danny becomming a sorta Guardian Ghost to Damian.

Talia is very worried that Damian keeps talking about his imaginary friend that he insists is real. It's probably nothing... right?

An Ideal Ending For Bnha

I would like to talk about what can/SHOULD happen at the end of Bnha as good and realistic happy ending. By ending, i mean what should happen to villains and society at the end.

Since Bnha is a positive story about change, we know things has to change. Killing villains or locking them up forever (Tartarus) is not solution. Society should focus on rehabiltion of these villains. So how to do that? Lets get into it.

In-Prison Rehabilitation Programs

Rehabilitation does not have to begin once an offender is released from prison. Most prisons now offer at least some programs that are designed to help inmates more easily adjust to conditions outside of prison once they are released. These programs are often aimed at helping offenders acquire job skills, overcome substance abuse problems, or learn how to deal with common challenges they may face upon release. Some in-prison programs include:

Adult education courses

Religious services

Mental and physical health programs

Language courses

Job skills workshops

Before i get into this rehabilitation part, i would focus on league of villains (especially main villain trio) to explain this.

I think league of villains at the end should live in some kind of mental institute. The reason is well they clearly need mental and psychical help with their quirk. Society is own to them since they are victims of society, thats why society has to help them but at the same time, they did many violent things so leaving them free doesnt make sense. But locking them doesnt work either so i would say best option is social works. Forcing villains or the ones who want to rehabilitate should clean the messy they made.

This is good solution because

1- This means less work for heroes and other people

2- Consequences

3- Help them to learning good things, especially with their quirk, it would be very helpfull.

But of course, society wouldnt trust villains to do job by leaving them alone. And lets remember; it is heroes job to deal with villains, right? Then how about hero job gets categories? Heroes who catches villains (maybe Bakugou or others), heroes who support other heroes, heroes who make support items, heroes who protects civillians, heroes who help people with weird/dangerous quirks, heroes who help rehabilitation of villains. Hero job doesnt necessarely needs to be gone, it can still exist but this time, it will be really for everyone’s sake.

So every villain who gets rehabilitation should get at least one hero partner. For example;

For Spinner, it can be Shoji. (Not sure about Mr Compress).

For Toga, it can be Uraraka and others.

For Shigaraki, it can be Deku and maybe if he lives, Allmight can help them too.

For Dabi, it can be Shouto, this would be amazing opportunity since they get to know each others as brothers. Isnt that good, Dabi? Shouto will give the all attention you ever desired. Shouto and Touya would be amazing together because Touya is kind of person who express himself with actions more than words and Shouto is the kind of person who pay attention to someone’s actions more than their words. I can imagine them being the silliest brothers ever.

Tenko and Touya always wanted to be hero, not only they can be hero/help people but also they can take responsbility for their actions at the same time. Isnt that good, Tenko, Touya? You can be hero too.

If a villain wants to go out freely (maybe once or twice a week) and if that villain is dangerous, then their hero partner should join them. I am not saying that they should live like this forever but at least, for a period of time, they should.

+ Also Hawks should get this rehabiltation with Tokoyami as partner too since honestly, he really needs therapy and needs to face consequences too.

Also, i think society really needs to hear those villain stories, that the people they called villains are humans and their suffering. Society should make support items for every person for their quirk, like, actualy quirk doctors who will help people, not respressing them or shutting them down. They really need, especially next generation, they need well prepared education.

At schools, these new historical events between heroes and villains should taught to kids and reminding them that the meaning of heroes so that they will never forget. Of course, not everything will be solved by this but at least, we should see the effort and some positive change in society.

Also, another reason why i want league of villains to live in some kind of mental institute/house type of place is because i think they shouldnt be separated. They are family and friends, they can heal together.

Especially, about Dabi’s ending with Todoroki family. I think family needs time to heal and a little space. Both side accepting each others wont be easy. Touya needs therapy and letting him go to his family as nothing happenned doesnt make sense, especially considering that he is the only one whose family is alive and accept him.

Also, league is Dabi’s family too. They should be together. Todoroki family can visit him sometimes, maybe he can go to live with them once a while with Shouto by his side.

- If Endeavour lives at the end, he should definitely loose his hero job and get out of his family’s life at least. (Though, i think this wouldnt be enough to punish him since he hurted so many people, not just his family.). And also heroes shouldnt get away with doing wrong things, just because they are ‘heroes’.

And i dont think Dabi ever will forgive Endeavour, him accepting Endeavour would be unrealistic and terrible message since some victims have a right to not forgive and have space from their abusers forever. Best development that can ever happen between Dabi and Endeavour is Dabi’s giving up on killing him and respecting other family members choices to forgiving him or not. For example, Fuyumi or maybe Shouto or others can forgive him and if they want, they can still meet him but Endeavour should stay away from Dabi forever. Btw since Todoroki family can really help Dabi a lot, Fuyumi can teach him many things, Natsuo can help with medical issues, Shouto with hero issues, Rei can help him since she also lived in mental institue too before. So many options.

- Izuku’s bullying and his feelings for the bullying gets explored and Izuku takes his time for it too, especially some space from Bakugou.

- If Kurogiri lives, Aizawa and Yamada can help him and also by helping some noumus who can still be human.

- If league lives (they should,), they live together and heal together.

- Happy ending for Todoroki family.

- Tenko finally achieve his dreams to be hero.

- Hero kids being actual heroes. I really want them to think about how to improve society and them constantly trying to reach out villains, failing over and overi sometimes giving up but eventually reaching that point, that would be amazing.

- Aoyama and Deku’s quirkless history hsould get explored more.

- Quirkless people can help others too.

- By helping villains and spending them with them, they can also learn many new perspectives that they never considered.

- Izuocha/Shigatoga canon.

- Prisons like Tartarus should end forever.

- Afo-Ofa should end for good. I mean, Afo lived enough and Ofa souls too. Time to rest in peace.

- I think at some point in story, everyone/hero kids and even with league of members, they can fight against Afo to save Shigaraki, that should happen, that would be really epic.

If you actually think about it, it makes sense, especially since we already get chapters that called ‘This is the story of how we all become heroes’. Its also interesting that even in villain chapter we get this, it says ‘minus 1′, i think it also shows that they will also get that point too. I also kinda think this is the kind of ending author want to make, even if he cant, this is what he write.

There might be things i forgot to say but for now, thats it. This is the best possible ending i can think right now. Anyway, author might mess up the ending and all so if it ends up messed up, then you can consider this as real canon ending because thats what they deserve.

i used not to like Vidia, infact i wanted to get rid of her but since i watched each movies, she's just being misunderstood and someone just like mentioned things about Vidia that actually makes sense in a way i know someone else mentioned about Vidia having a boss who thinks bad about Tinker fairies so Vidia is like forced to make a choice, either to hangout with the Tinker fairies but get bullied by her fellow fast-flying fairies in the process or stop hangout with the Tinker fairies so she won't get bullied by her fellow fast-flying fairies, that actually possibly makes sense my thoughts on her is she did something terrible she like got bad reputation and reacted the way she did in the first movie and became very jealous of Tinkerbell once Tink was born who happened to have the brightest glow, even more so then Vidia so she took it out on Tinkerbell at first but this other person mentioned something about Vidia having bad accidents linked by Tinker fairies or something she got like physically hurt or something, it's just recently mentioned, i like that theory with someone's thoughts now that i grow to think about it, that same person could be right about Vidia having a hard time expressing her emotions because she may act tough by acting sarcastic, joking around or maybe by like being rude or angry about things but on the inside it's just her way of coping with her insecurities or anxiousness, i've never thought of it this way before but it explains everything she may have flaws but she also have her own strength, like of all fairies, she's the one who stops others from fighting (especially when iridessa and Rosetta were arguing infront of the others and blamed each other for the mess untill Vidia intervene by telling them Zarina is the reason for all these messes coming from someone who overreacted with being a Tinker fairy at first) the other one is giving others comfort (she comforted Silvermist in the last 2 movies, and of all fairies who found it a terrible idea with Periwinkle crossing the border, Vidia is the one who actually comforted Tinkerbell about the whole rules thing with crossing the border and try to take her home, Fawn also comforted Tink but didn't said a thing while others took care with the snowmaking machine untill Tinkerbell refused to go home but instead lost her temper nearly turning red and told Lord Milori he can't seperate the sisters so Vidia actually felt sorry for Tinkerbell and tried to be there for her like a true friend just to name 2 things) the other is calming others down when they panic (like iridessa, she panicked like there's no tomorrow, Vidia calmed her down TWICE and when Tinkerbell struggles with the door in "The Pirate Fairy" movie, Vidia intervene when others did nothing, even though it was just for a few seconds Vidia atleast did something) her another strength is by being helpfull and her odd ways of caring for others especially to Tinkerbell (like in "The Pirate Fairy" after Rosetta's hair got partly burned, she asked in concern what have happened with her hair, she got concerned for Fawn's sake in the finale movie, of all people Vidia reminded Tinkerbell in odd ways she should take a break from all the Tinkering and was still being there untill the festival have started, she comforted Rosetta when Fawn was declared dead, she helped Tinkerbell to bring Periwinkle to the winter woods, she was the most upset when Tinkerbell broke her wing to name a couple things) the other is the brave side of her when the situation calls for it (like she called the others for help back on the mainland, she risked her own life to get trapped in the jar, telling the others the truth about the Tinkerbell situation, helping Fawn with the Gruff situation even with this odd green weather and she's not afraid to speak her mind) i think at somehow we all hide our true self from time to time and characters from the series isn't an exception in my opinion like we have characters who try to cheer others up and help them but hides their own problems and feelings

or characters who act like they don't care about things but are very insecure and/or anxious on the inside or characters who makes a joke in serious situations even though it's unnecessary, inappropriate or even rude or characters can get angry easily and say hurtfull things with good intention, we all have our own ways of dealing with things Vidia have her ways of coping with emotions even though she doesn't show it (or atleast not very well) but from what someone have mentioned, it actually makes sense why Vidia react the way she did, it could be a bit of a mix why she had bad traits at first and why she had trust-issues at first untill she have overcomes some flaws
