minnie deciding to try helping give poppy some of the school experiences that she had missed out on because they’re in their 20’s and want to fuck around a bit while they can

them chatting late into the night about anxieties with their jobs and their lives. wondering if dedicating their life to staying at hogwarts is the right thing because there’s so much else out there to see in this world

but I present to you the students betting on whether McGonagall and Poppy are together

the whole thing was started by Remus, and then it spread through the whole castle like a wildfire

To Remus, madam Pomfrey was like a mother.The two of them just instantly clicked perfectly together like two pieces of the same puzzle, at least that’s what McGonagall says. She would sometimes come to the infirmary and lean on the doorstep, just watching Remus and Pomfrey talking with a fond smile. Remus loved her, but something about Poppy made him feel different. She truly felt like home. Just like his friends did.

He felt guilty about it at first :loving Poppy more than he did Minerva. But he’d realized quickly McGonagall was already someone else’s Poppy. Sirius’s. He’d witnessed the two of them exchanging on several occasions and he’d understood then, why McGonagall’s gaze always seemed so full of love when watching Pomfrey interact with him. His heart completely melted when Sirius gave him one of his most blinding smile after talking to the old lady. His boy deserved all that happiness.

Minerva loved the Marauders. She really did. Remus knew that. But she had a deeper connection to Sirius. Anyone who took the time of day to look at the two of them together could see it. It was blinding.

It didn’t really bother him. Not even when Sirius started calling McGonagall ‘’Minnie’’ while no one else could. Because he understood. He understood his professor loved Sirius and he knew Sirius shared her love. He understood what it was like to attach yourself to someone and never want to let go. He felt like that about madam Pomfrey.

One thing about Poppy is that she made chocolate as a hobby. She would always make Remus taste test every single one she made. She even gave him the rest for later so he could test them when he didn’t have enough time at the infirmary to taste all of them. Hence the fact he’s always carrying some with him now. The taste of chocolate reminded him of home, of Poppy.

That’s why, when he saw James with Lily’s eyes in the train, when he saw Harry, he immediately thought of home: his friend, the marauders. And when thinking of home, he’d always end up thinking of madam Pomfrey. So he got a chocolate bar out of his pocket and gave it to the boy hoping he’d understand just how important this was for him. Hoping maybe he could become the home this child never had the chance to have. He reckons James and Lily would like that, or at least he hopes so.

Oh how he misses home.

i need help so i can focus on a specific fic to work on rn, i can’t seem to focus enough to work on any of them so i’m gonna see which one tumblr wants to see most (one of the fics is going to be a decision between which chapter goes out first)

to go into more specifics than the poll can allow:

option 1 is random, whatever comes to mind for the prompt

option 2 it’s minnie and poppy soon after being hired at hogwarts. minnie finds it curious that she doesn’t recognize poppy since they are very similar in age and would have been in the same class, poppy happened to be homeschooled. after finding this out minnie decides to try really looking out for this new friends and colleague. the plan is that it will become a bit of a coming of age thing, minnie trying to let poppy have all those experiences that she missed. but then later on some events occur and then we get into THE ANGST TIMES.

option 3, i finally get back to my abandoned child (i’m referring to my fic, remus’ descent into madness). this chapter would be more moving the plot forward some. some conversation and a lot of unsure feelings that even i, the author, find to be confusing. plus maybe revealing more about james and lily and how their time has been spent, idk.

option 4, a bit of a fluffier chapter. or at least i’m planning it to be. it’s just gonna be mary and harry having a bit of a good time while mary babysits, some background stress about everything else, but mainly just a bit of fun. i’m excited to write this chapter i just haven’t been in the mood for it lately.

option 5, so this fic is going to be focused on my interpretation of the girls (i’m still figuring it out tbh). i think this may end up being something longer, we’ll see. there’s going to be relationships stuff, but i want to try to focus in on the actual characters and their issues as much as i can. the main plot is going to be: as the boys are fucking about with their pranks and whatever else they have going on, the girls are doing their own things. trying to keep up good grades in their classes, but also trying to figure themselves out. they find a particular spot away from everything else, and wonder if they can make it into something beautiful, something just for them, in the secluded shadows.

you can tell which fics i have more planned out, though tbh i have a lot of plans for the chapters i just don’t want to reveal too much
