Marinette looks around the breakfast table. It's too peaceful. At least for the Wayne Family. She stabs her eggs with her fork and raises her voice above the chatter.

"Hey Dad, what do you do every night?"

The entire table turns quiet as Bruce looks up from his plate. "What do you mean?"

Marinette shrugs. "I just notice you slip out of the manor every night. What do you do outside?"

She notices most of her siblings making subtle nervous ticks at the thought of their secret coming out to her. Bruce coughs. "Well, that's . . . it's a secret matter, sweetheart."

Marinette nods in understanding, taking a sip of her tea. "I honestly thought you've stopped your 'nightly adventures' because you're with Selina now. You're perfect for each other."

"Wait, what?"

"Yeah!" She rolls her eyes. "I'm not a kid. I know what adults do at night. I'm trusting you're using protection because there's so much of us already."

Her siblings watch with eagerness and amusement, not saying a thing as she grills Bruce. Stephanie's eyes are twinkling. Damian wears an arched eyebrow. Tim is snorting milk out of his nose.

"I think you're misunderstanding," Bruce denies weakly. "I'm not---"

"No, it's okay! It's nothing to be ashamed of. Totally normal."

Her father squirms. "But it's not what you think---"

"He definitely goes around the city, Mars." Dick chimes in happily. "Oh, and sometimes, he does a little dress-up if you catch my drift."

"Gross. Did not need to know that." Marinette shudders. "Dad, just make sure to take care of Selina too, okay? I like her a lot."

"But---"

"And if you're going out tonight, try to be more discreet okay?"

Batkids playing any kind of board game but make it extra competitive because whoever wins gets to choose what Bruce wears for the next gala.

Bruce, in a sparkly top and skinny jeans:

Reporter: Ah, who chose your outfit tonight, Brucie?

Bruce: That'd be my eldest, dear!

Dick, behind him, full into the gala persona: Flattering, isn't it? He should wear it more often, don't you think, sweetheart?

Reporter, flushed: Oh, absolutely.

Bruce (to Dick): Get a new fashion style. Please.

Dick: Never.

Reporter: Who would be responsible for your wardrobe tonight, Brucie? It's certainly a statement.

Bruce, head to toe in a pink suit and Hello Kitty accessories: Gorgeous, isn't it? All the credit will have to be given to Jason, though, I'm afraid.

Reporter: Your second son, if I'm not mistaken?

Bruce: The very one.

Jason from across the gala hall, trying to not cough up his drink with laughter:

Tim, next to him: He's pulling it off, though. Little spins and everything.

Jason: Still ridiculous. That's Batman right there, Timbo.

Tim, snickering: The Dark Knight, huh?

Bruce, dressed in a collared white shirt, sweater and skirt, looking like he just came out of a light academia novel:

Reporter: Wow, Brucie. Who do we thank for that wonderful outfit choice?

Bruce: Ah, flattering, is it not? Tim's choices when it comes to fashion are wonderful, if not a bit simple.

Tim, nodding from behind him: Only the finest satin skirts. Charming, right?

Tim, to Bruce: Don't call my style simple, Mr. all I wear is black.

[Jason handing Dick $10 in the background because Bruce does, in fact, pull off a skirt.]

Reporter: Oh lord, what a gown! Who influenced your fashion choice tonight, Brucie?

Bruce, in a long green and black gown with gold accessories, nothing short of royal-looking: I fear only one person I know could choose an outfit as gorgeous as this one.

Damian, proudly next to him, in a smaller, matching gown: Only the most exquisite. You lot in this flimsy country cannot compare.

Bruce: Yes, Damian has a fine taste in fashion. He gets it from his mother.

Damian, quieter: Well certainly not from you.

Bruce, dressed in an elegant white dress shirt, long black pants and a corset with red accessories, a fan in his right hand:

Reporter: What an entrance! Anyone to give credit to for the wardrobe, Brucie?

Bruce: That'd be my daughter, she certainly shines with her choice of clothing.

Cass, grinning with a matching fan: Very pretty.

Bruce: Thank you, Cass.

Reporter: Woah, that's certainly new. Any reason for this choice of clothes, Brucie, dear?

Bruce, in a snapback cap, loose jeans and a band t-shirt, complete with rings and a chain around his neck: Well, all of my children are creative, but... Duke might just take the cake for this one, love.

Duke, losing his absolute shit next to Jason, Dick and Tim: You look great, B.

Steph doesn't usually go to galas, but she participates in the game nevertheless. If she wins, god help Bruce, because it's a gamble with her. He either ends up wearing a gorgeous outfit with eccentric and trend-setting accessories or literal checkered pyjamas. Worst yet, he has to say he picked it himself, since he can't directly blame Steph.

You know what I want to write. Like even a oneshot or something. Imagine for a moment, some sort of timeline where Terry and Matt Mcginnis exist, but Bruce still has all the children he does in canon. So a lot of children.

Now bring in Terry and Matt, but make them far smaller children than Bruce has had to deal with before. I am talking toddlers or near. Bruce now has to try and raise a literal toddler and baby with his childrens' insisted help.

If the Spirit of Gotham changes appearance depending on influences from within, then I say let her look like a more androgynous Bruce Wayne.

And, if this is a DP/DC crossover, then let her meet Danny.

And, because of the Fenton Luck, let him meet the real Bruce Wayne.

And, because he’s kind of a dumbass sometimes, let Danny assume that Bruce Wayne is Gotham in a more mortal form, attempting to improve herself from within.

what music do you think Bruce and Hal listen to?

Bruce: He doesn’t listen to music that often (I think he'd find everything other than classical music distracting when he's working), but I think he likes most genres, though his preference is actually mostly 70's-90's disco and pop. You'll have to pry Bruce being a Prince fan from my cold dead hands thanks to my fave post ever. I think the kids help keep him pretty up to date with current music trends and stars and he keeps an ear out on the local Gotham music scene, so while he wouldn't claim to be that big a music guy he can recommend you like 50 (sometimes undiscovered) bands (here, have my other fave music related Bruce post).

Hal: Hal on the other hand is not on earth enough to keep up with anything past the 90's. Classic rock dad type music for this guy (Fleetwood Mac and Pink Floyd make me think of him most), but I know in my heart that he dances round his kitchen to Britney, putting his whole ass into his one man performance of Toxic when no one is watching.

I think they'd have a decent overlap in music taste, even if Hal probably dies laughing when he first sees Bruce's playlists. He was expecting death metal, not Club Tropicana.

when you imagine babybat & dadfred, do you see them as any specific movie or comic iteration? or just kind of as a mix? i only just got into batman stuff this year but i really like it so far & i'm interested to know what your favorites are!!

Good question!! I've always been partial to the animated series, so that's mostly where I work from. Bruce is soooo big and soft and huggable in season one, and I love Alfred's design too!! Look at them. I'm hugging and squeezing them.

The comic iterations are cute too!! Love it when they're tiny and small, that's kind of what I based my doodle style on.

Though my favorite Alfred design might be Batman '89, it's just closest to how I draw him. He looks so grandpa (and I looooove Michael Gough's Alfred in the movie, though Efrem Zimbalist from BTAS is always Alfred's voice to me).

And I find the Harley Quinn show's Bruce to be pretty cute too.

But overall, I don't have a concrete visual for them in my head. I consider myself a visual thinker but I can't picture exactly what they look like, it's an amalgamation! Overall though, btas iterations of them will always have my heart :] I actually have a compilation of some of my favorite moments with them on YouTube!!

I started writing a headcanon shit post but it went on so long that it basically turned into a fic, so now I gotta write it as a fic. However I am impatient so I’m saying right now that the central joke is that Harvey Dent sees “Brucie” Wayne and concludes that, actually, yes, this makes sense of what Bruce thinks a “normal person” acts like, given what he openly thought about their classmates back in the day
