Or on the flip side, explore the fall out. The betrayal, the terror they faced during Larkin's torment. You could write about how they were perceived after they came out of the hospital. Did they ever tell their mother about what happened?

A party person at heart with the love of gigglewater, you could explore a night on the town. Or an evening after work for them. Are they still using distractions to help with their mental health?

Hi I love spotting unexpected demonstrations of how everyone's always lived in the same world. I was reading a biography of George MacDonald (for school) and came across a quotation from Charles Dodgson describing how he met two of MacDonald's children in a sculptor friend's studio. Greville MacDonald, age 5, was posing for a statue of a boy with a dolphin that was later placed in Hyde Park…

And I said "hey, wait a minute, that statue sounds familiar."

And I looked it up and sure enough a Boy With Dolphin statue that is clearly based on this one appears (and comes to life) in a Mary Poppins book.

P. L. Travers wrote about a Greek statue-boy based on a statue of George MacDonald's son, which Lewis Carroll saw being sculpted.

A Trans James Potter Story

Chapter 2

On the train ride to Hogwarts they told Remus about the 4 houses. ‘Gryffindor the good ones, Slytherin the evil ones, Ravenclaw the intelligent ones, and then there’s Hufflepuff,’ Sirius snorted when James called the Slytherins evil. Although he wasn’t sure if he was agreeing with him or not. His entire family was full of Slytherins after all. 

They finally made it off the train and to the Great Hall. James was shaking with excitement to get sorted. He already had a bit of house pride given that his father was a Gryffindor and had told James many stories of his time at Hogwarts.

Black was the first of their little group to be called up to the sorting hat. It rested on Sirius’ head for a few moments before booming out “GRYFFINDOR,” The entire hall went silent. This was the first Black in their family history to not be in Slytherin. When Sirius started walking towards the Gryffindor table he was getting heckled and yelled at by the Slytherin table. Sirius had a rebellious smirk on his face as he made eye contact with all of them, then turned away to sit down.

Next person he recognized was the redhead from the train. Apparently her name was Lily Evans and she was peaking James’ interest. She was sorted into Gryffindor, he mentally noted to try and talk to her in the common room later. He was a bit excited they would be in the same house, because he was confident he would get Gryffindor.

Next up was Lupin. He was sorted into Gryffindor and received a big cheer from the table. So far the train group was all together, maybe they could all be friends. James had never had a group of friends before, being homeschooled and all. He was a bit sheltered because of his overprotective parents, he was only trusted with a few kids around his age.

 A few more girls were sorted into Gryffindor like Marlene Mckinnon, one of his childhood friends, and Mary Macdonald but they didn’t really catch James’ eye like Lily did. 

The P’s finally rolled around but Pettigrew went before him. James was sure he would go to Hufflepuff but to his surprise he was also sorted into Gryffindor. He seemed a little meek to be in Gryffindor, but that was just James’ opinion. 

Then his name was finally called, James had been growing a bit impatient. It seemed that his mother had sent a letter explaining James’... situation because the sorting hat had called out “Potter, James!”. He was grateful she did because he hadn’t even thought about it. He walked up with a huge smile on his face. The sorting hat barely had to touch his head before yelling out. “GRYFFINDOR!” The Gryffindor table cheered as James strutted down to the table. He enjoyed being the center of attention.

He sat down in front of Sirius and Remus, next to Peter.

“Look at us, gangs all together,” He said with a smirk.
