Everytime Peter and Tony get into an argument whether big or small, Peter always mumbles an apology right before storming off. He didn't get the chance to apologize to Ben about their argument before he died, And he won't let that happen again. He Won't.

Tony: You have literally helped me build an ironman suit. Why are you writing about changing a lightbulb?

I'm just gonna say it again real quick:

Yes!! Iron Man is a tragedy! It has and always has been since the very first appearance in 1963 which describes itself, Tony's life, and legacy, as such.

Tony causes most of his issues himself, he is his biggest villain, a majority of his rogues gallery are caricatures of the worst versions of himself brought to life (when they're not just being racist cuz...60s...). The worst thing about being Tony Stark is that he can't stop being Tony Stark (he tried!!) That is the point.

The majority of pain Tony goes through, is pain he inflicts on himself, whether intentionally or inadvertently. That is the point.

He is not A villain (at least. Not usually. There are...some rough moments and arcs that are. Not great. As there is with any character as old as he is). But he is his own main antagonist.

We've all seen the fics where the Rogues return and immediately assume that Peter is Tony's son, leading to a "prank" where Tony and Peter "act" like father and son (they soon realize they barely have to act, cue feelings)

Now, a fic that is a twist on that old favorite.

The Rogues return, and they quickly figure out that Peter is not Tony's biological son, that he started as an intern and as Spider-Man but the two have grown closer since then. The Rogues assume that Tony has never told Peter how much he cares about him. They believe Tony is too emotionally constipated, and that Peter must still think he is "just an intern"

However, in assessing the situation, the Rogues have failed to account for some pretty vital facts: 1) the amount of time that has actually passed, and 2) the fact that Tony Stark would do just about anything, even face and overcome his childhood programming, for Peter Parker

Peter and Tony have known each other for two years now. They have already had all the emotional conversations. Peter sees Tony as a father, and Tony sees Peter as a son, and the whole Ironfam knows it. No one is in the dark about what's going on.

...except the Rogues.

When Peter and Tony realize that the Rogues immediately assumed Tony is emotionally incapable, they decide to prank them by seeing just how long they will keep believing that

Around the Rogues, Peter calls Tony "Mr. Stark," and Tony pretends to be a stone cold bitch (even while "subtly" remaining a helicopter parent). Back on their own floor of the tower, Peter switches easily between "Tony" and "Dad," they have movie nights where they fall asleep on the couch together, and dinners with Pepper, May, Rhodey, and Happy.

The Rogues decide they need to help Tony and Peter realize their feelings. This goes on for a long time.

Then, one day, Peter gets hurt. Bad. Maybe he gets hurt as Spider-Man, maybe it's a kidnapping or hostage situation. One way or another, he ends up calling out for his dad.

The Rogues all hold their breath, expecting Tony to be stunned, to freak out and go hide in his lab. But Tony doesn't even blink. He comforts Peter, holds onto him, promises that he's safe

Finally, it becomes clear that the Rogues... might have misjudged the situation. Just a bit.

how long do you think tony waited to see if aunt may was alive after the snap? do you think he lived in denial pushing it away for as long as he can, or it was one of the first things he checked? do you think when he found no traces of her, he was relieved? jealous? a mix of both? i wonder how it must have felt to be the only person alive who still cares about peter parker, none of his friends were there anymore, absolutely nobody, hes there to carry the treasured memories and absolute weight of the loss alone .

Daddy!Tony works from home so Little!Peter gets very used to being home with him during the day. One day daddy!Stephen has a day off from work so he's home too and Peter gets so excited to have both daddies home he just runs from one room to the next screaming incoherently

“Is he like this all the time with you? How do you get any work done?” Stephen huffs.

“I swear, he’s not like this at all. Can’t you take him to the park or something?” Tony suggests.

“It’s my one day off! I stand for hours on end in surgery.”

“All right, all right. The movies then?”

Before Stephen can answer, Peter shoots into the room like a rocket, screaming.

“I WANT CANDY!”

Stucky fight headcanon...

I hate when my faves fight but the angst-obsessed goblin in me just CAN'T stop thinking of Bucky and Steve getting into a fight about some mission-related thing, and either Tony (if it's the current timeline) or Dum Dum (WWII timeline) steps in and tells Bucky to take a walk.

Something like...

"And I told you to stay put, Steve! You just compromised this whole damn mission and yourself for what- some cargo?!"

"Bucky, you don't understand I couldn't leave it-!"

"It's a bag Steve! You could've died, for a bag!"

And Steve gets all teary eyed and frustrated because Bucky doesn't understand, he had letters in that bag and trinkets all meant for Bucky before he'd gotten the serum! Letters telling his best friend how he'd loved him as more than a friend and was ready to fight and die by his side for the rest of his life!

Tony/Dum Dum know this, but Bucky doesn't, so he just thinks Steve risked his life for nothing, being the stubborn little shit he always was back in Brooklyn. They get in between them to calm things down before Barnes says or does something he'd regret and end up hurting Steve unknowingly in the process.

"That's enough! Barnes, take a walk."

And Bucky goes, "Oh, you're taking his side like he just didn't jeopardise this whole operation?!"

To which they reply, "He's upset and you're making it worse. We'll talk about it when you've calmed down!"

Bucky scoffs and says, "yeah, whatever," as he stomps off without even a second glance at Steve who looks stricken and sick to his stomach, holding the very same bag in his shaking hands, tears dripping down his face as he wonders the chances of Bucky loving him back after this.
